Ive seen a few a keys
A-key is weird: 2 x PCIe x1, USB 2.0, I2C and DP x4
A+E is common, but I really wouldn't expect to see pure A anywhere.
Is that for some kind of weird PCIe 1x DP capture card, or weird PCIe 1x DP output GPU?
to clarify: M.2 is both connector and formfactor
Family of form factors, denoted by the numbers after (size in mm, width in first two, then length in rest)
With 1216 being soldered, not card with connector.
Fair
Tried to keep it simplified.
Same with that U.2 being both the connector, that most in consumer space would care for (PCIe over standardized cable and connectors), and the end device dimensions.
Where you care about the device dimensions if you are using hot-swap backplanes and drive cages.
Used hdmi cable that came with Nintendo switch to connect work laptop to monitor and I get snowing effect. Fixed the problem by using another hdmi
Thx Nintento, you even managed to mess up hdmi cable
Marginal for the settings.
Nintendo only had to include one that worked up to what Switch can output.
Or bought it from a sketchy distributor and now you are distributing it to customers.....
And I thought any hdmi will work and the only difference is how much bandwidth it can support depending on the hdmi version 🤣
At least, that's what people say
And the lowest spec is up to 1920x1080 @ 73 Hz at 8bpc.
Guess nintendo hdmi can't even handle that 🤣
cloudflare shit itself again
Laptop and monitor have that resolution except that the refresh rate is limited by laptop
downdetector is down 🤣
I didn't post that one, but different one.
Oh, sorry. I remember it was something like this
The original of that is old XKCD
This is like when a company hires a developer who practically designed and maintained whole IT infrastructure and the company would basically fall apart without him
One day, they fire him because he is "expensive" and then later the whole company goes into panic mode when they realize what they have done
"There are never any problems with IT, why do we pay for IT support person?"
Lol, this quote is perfect 🤣
I like this version that Herg posted in a different server
There's also "we have IT issues constantly, what do we even pay our IT support person for?"
And working in IT is a constant back and forth
Yeah, that is the other side, when the IT doesn't have enough resources or right people.
With the other being when IT Just Works, because the people doing it are making it work in the background proactively.
My favorite analogy for this:
Does your car work well despite regular inspections or because of them?

Great stuff
I once worked in college IT department and college principal compalined why do we need to replace broken server UPS with a new one
He shut his mouth when my boss told him we don't need UPS but the college website will go down if we lose power 😅
It's always funny to tell people in charge about fallback infrastructure and emergency safety nets
"we can certainly do without, but then XYZ might happen. Oh, and we'd be in violation of idk how many laws and regulations"
Or like those UPSes.
Ok, you can do without those.
But there is very high likelyhood that any power-outtage taking the servers down for days to weeks, instead of just for the power outtage.
When they cannot do controlled shutdowns.
Learned this the hard way on my NAS. When I had power outage and irregular NAS shutdown, one of hard drives started showing bad sector warnings
This probably would't happen with SSD but hard drives don't like sudden shutdown
Major issue is lost writes, leading to inconsistent data.
Most HDD:s use the spindown of the spindle to power up stuff for safe parking...
More likely it was from the other drives vibrations causing the single drives head to crash while parking.
Including writing any data still in the drive buffers onto disk while the spindle slows down, and the motor is used as generator for the electronics.
It's time to retire hard drives
In turn with consumer grade SSDs, they don't have power loss protection capacitors, that are used to write the redirection table and any in-flight data onto the flash in case of power loss.
And with HMB, you don't even have access to that part of the table so you even could try to write and preserve the latest copy.
I once visited the basement of a commercial building and they showed me gigantic UPS'es in the server room
I am hungry, what the heck am I eating for?
I am full, what the heck am I eating for?
Netflix to Acquire Warner Bros. Following the Separation of Discovery Global for a Total Enterprise Value of $82.7 Billion (Equity Value of $72.0 Billion)
Yeah, enterprise level UPS is crazy
huh, HiFi Rush is getting... better? after being acquired by Krafton, Tango gameworks releases patch that removes Denuvo
good thing I got reminded about what's convincing vegetation
I mean, you really need to dance around it to see flat sprites it consists of
No idea what they got in the Estonian Defence Forces but when our power went out then we had 0 problems running all the laptops, monitors etc for over half an hour until it came back. Only difference was no ceiling lighting, otherwise wouldn't have noticed a thing.
I saw generators capable of powering office parks
those are big, and very loud
We also have UPS at work and there are special red UPS outlets on the floor boxes where you can plug in your laptop if you really need to work + all servers are connected to UPS
Some people abuse those red outlets though and plug in non-essential devices when there is no power
But this is kinda expected since I work for an ISP and ups-backup is basically industry standard
Lazy people complain about elevators not working during blackout because they don't want to use emergency stairs 🤣
I work on the 7th floor
Yup, we got to make fun of another office where some people hadn't plugged everything into those.
We use our field service truck as backup generator if its "home" at workshop and theres long estimated black out from thunder damage etc. Just disconnect the workshop from the black outed grid and plug the truck generator feed in. It has a 80kW diesel generator on board.
But thats also how hospitals and datacenters do it, with diesel gens
Small battery backup for the time it takes to start them up
We dont have lasercutters of our own here unfortunately
The big generators need some minimum power draw tho. So smth must always be running or you got some fancier one?
In the army we needed to load all 3 phases a bit so had a 9kw heater running 24/7 even if it was blowing outside.
All I know its Volvo Penta and has normal 400V 3-phase and 230v 2-phase outputs with pure sine wave so you can run sensitive stuff from it too. But usually on The field just mig/mag welders and angle grinders

Is the
Rotation is keeping same distance
Linear motion is keeping same direction
Dumb explanation working well?
In the context of how to divide any motion into smaller ones
Moving along axis of movement, or around axis of movement.
hotspot 110 is ok for amd i think
arc?
im happy about intel gpus in general cuz amd would have monopoly with those ai slop targeted nvidia chips

discord end of year thingy
check the flag at the top of the app
oh
sorry, i'm on desktop
and it's not a nitro thing either
oh, do a hard restart of discord, full close
might pop up then
oh my other main discord channel did all the jokes
it's one of those "gotta be active for a while" rewards i think
yea i got a donut
ah
yea idk if there's tiers or something, mod in another discord of mine got a donut too
seems random
ngl i did it mainly because of all the instant dick jokes that happened
the donut is so lame lol
i got like the worst one
it dosent match my pfp and its just so ugly having pink
definitely
also there's not thousands in here, where nobody can actually communicate
it's a frigid 9 here
i dident get much painting done since the usual cold day thigns happened
ofc you get cold so you try and start the truck and the thing dosent even crank cause its so dead
then you try and open the hood and its frozen shut so you cant even charge the dang thing
and then after goign to war with the plastic difuser and abuse leverage to brute force your way in the battery is deffective and you have to chace down the recipt and go on a adventure to replace it
it's so cold here i almost have to wear socks at night
and then you forget the stuff you needed to paint so you have to go back to the store 3 times over
and by that point your tired of the cold and mad
and its getting dark so you cant see
does the paint dry fast when it's that cold?
and at the end of the day you got nothing done
dunno i dont paint often
here paint dries fast because it's usually hot with 0 humidity
after an hour or 2 the spray paint was still like 20% wet spots id say
that's not too bad
yea youtube mobile is abysmal rn
gambling ads and betterhelp (which is a scam) exclusively twice every less than 2 minutes
thats been the last week for me on mobile prettymuch
But how do you define "around"?
Would that definition work in different dimensions?
No, that is the absolute max, and that spread between hotspot and normal temp tells that the thermal material between GPU and cooler has failed.
For any nonchanging rotation, you have single axis, which is in 3D space.
Only forgot to include requirement for the axis of movement to intersect the object itself for both, for the linear motion that is basically given.
But for rotation if that "intersects object" wasn't in place, movement in arc etc. would count as rotation too, and that isn't right AFAIK.
Rotation, rotational or rotary motion is the movement of an object that leaves at least one point unchanged.
Ok, seems the official definition also allows for circular motion where the object turns with to count as rotation, so that "intersects object" is not part of it.
Just has to have static axis of rotation around which the object rotates keeping the same relative distances.
So left is circular motion, right is also rotation around the central axis/point.
So axis of rotation being top-down in the pic.
For the right.
the linear+rotation motion thing works in 2d, and should™ work in 4d too
I don't think applying 'axis' to a dot on a plane or plane in 4d is correct though
I mean, doesn't seem to be an axis to rotate around it, keeping distance constant
though theen there's ambiguity in something like rotating around a dot in 3d and so on
which wouldn't really match the intuitve way we think about rotation
That is 2D pic, so it is dot.
In 3D that would be line top-down.
The principal axes of rotation in space:
With the actual rotation counting as something in the 3D space, in same way.
Those are just component directions we often simplify to.
question I had is how to dumb down the idea that you can describe any motion as combination of linear + rotation
linear seems quite intuitive, though I used "same direction" which is along the axis indeed, but that still needs some explanation
and rotation is around axis indeed, keeping same distance. so, does it have be axis of rotation? or is axis just whatever we choose to rotate around?.. heh
You cannot.
Circular motion is separate for a reason.
And some motions are none of the three alone.
also this reminded me that technically you can describe everything as moving along helix spiral. just tuning parameters of the spiral: linear speed, rotational speed, radi, direction, you can sequence these to describe any motion. though this doesn't touch on object's orientation
yeah I was using rotation around for circular. more like orbiting
like what?
Alone, that spiral for example.
oh, alone. ofcourse. that's why I asaid combination
as in, spiral is linear + circular
not sequentually, but at the same time
though you could delta t them and say they are sequentual...
If such thing was possible, you would have the formulas already in existence.
Also remember that even that circular motion only deals with symmetrical or even just actually in circles movement.
Also see about the modeling of solar system as bunch of circles on circles during medieval times on how complex that kind of stuff gets even for just planetary orbits.
Even more when they still tried to do it with earth as the center instead of sun.
does it need formula though?
I mean, you have ones for linear and circular
When the planetary orbits aren't exact circles.
there's a special case when you can 'draw' aproximation of any shape with furier transform. as in circular upon circular motion with different radi and rotational speed
yeah, I am not claiming that it's easy mathematically do describe compelx movement that way
but you could programatically. like movements of a robot with different joints
i have come to remind you of something
the nintendo switch is a thing.
also the cartridges are bitter
that's all I had to say, thanks for listening to my TED talk
idk aparrently bf6 is "alright"
but it's by EA, and has anticheat
and why are games so terrible when it comes to min. requirements
i don't care about having visible skin pores
the only game I played for most of my life is minecraft
i like intel
more... autismy
i wonder how they're getting licsenses for them
Get VPN to pass the Anti-VPN gate 😉
But that is basically expected when using kind of public WLAN, which you were IIRC?
So you either need VPN that has exit point that isn't on whatever block list Intel is using, or need to use some other internet connection that isn't on the block list.
Try using your phone internet?
The actual mobile one.
Case is good, it has fans and meshes at all sides except that front glass
Ok so i need to replace it like i do on cpu?
If still in warranty, that is better option if possible.
If not, yes.
But most CPU pastes will not work properly and will fail very fast.
No warranty, i need special gpu paste?
Need either suitable paste for GPU/laptop, or something like PTM7950
Is it just better than cpu paste or some different principle working?
With such high-end phase change pad really recommended.
Thermalright Heilos as little worse alternative.
Problem is that most CPU pastes will either separate or just get pumped out.
Which has happened to your original already.
That kind of phase change pads have good enough performance, and don't suffer from either.
Thermal Grizzly PhaseSheet as another possibly easier to get alternative.
Aparrently thermal paste actually loses effectiveness when it dries out, even if you don't disturb it
Yes, but if or how fast that happens depends on paste.
With most of the high-end desktop CPU intended pastes not dealing well with laptop/GPU type mountings where the mounting pressure is low and the dies and coolers aren't as flat as with CPUs.
So as permanent fix:
Honeywell PTM7950 via some third party seller
Thermal Grizzly PhaseSheet
Thermalright Heilos (v2)
As months to years fix depending the exact thermal paste: thermal paste replacement.
Thank you
I inspected gpu and thermal pads seem ok, not 'leaking' idk how is it called when they die
Thermal pads on the other components don't usually degrade, except if they tear when you remove the cooler.
Any silicone leakage isn't important.
Some recent GPUs had pads that just slid out if the GPU was vertically mounted.
And you cannot see the GPU die paste without dismounting the cooler.
Yes and the problem is with die paste
I don't think im qualified enough to take it apart
At least need to see some guides
And the disassembly is cooler model specific.
Can i not fix this with pc case cooling improvement, bc theres like 30 degrees delta no matter what?
The problem is that large delta between hotspot and main GPU temp, which tells the cooler doesn't have proper contact with the die all over.
And that hotspot is hitting throttle limit for it, while main GPU temp is below throttle temp.
And it broke bc of heater under desk?
Manufacturing fault.
Either at speccing of the paste, or in construction of the cold plate.
Very common lately for that to happen even under 1 year for new card.
I can see, when i quit factory hotspot temp spikes down to normal 80
For some percentage of the cards.
Where the coldplate cannot really be fixed, but those phase change materials don't care the coldplate is not as flat it should be.
If there was manufacturing fault with that, and that caused the stock paste to fail.
And not just stock paste that wasn't suitable for the use.
So only way to fix the problem is to replace thermal paste
Until then i cannot load gpu bc it will fry itself
That 110C hotspot is in theory safe.
But your actual performance will keep going down with time, as the card throttles more and more.
Performance did not go down yet
It is very likely already significantly down from when the GPU would hit 95C normal temp throttle.
So its already slightly broken?
With 100-105C hotspot at same time.
But depends on the exact card and cooler for how high the normal main GPU temp would rise at max TDP.
what do u guys think? https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1251524227
absolute cinema but in the dirt level make the wooden pickaxes to wooden shovels instead
yeah i was planning to do that but then it whouldent match the theme but i can do that
i smell 10 year olds
its an shill project lol xD
i see many ways to improve the code
e.g this would be better replaced with a "when space pressed" and a "wait until not space pressed"
Ye, going on backup 1070ti now
opti mice is computer mouse that is secretly an opticon?
Netflix just bought HBO 💀
depends on what you replace it with
you really want something PTM so it doesn't dry or pump out
so i want ptm paste?
researching currently where can i get replacement pads and paste
No, bad naming when referring to those phase change materials, where PTM is Honeywell branding for their lineup.
And that PTM7950 is the gold standard.
okay thatnk you
i googled what throttling is and thats exactly what i had some times
when used hypertube cannon rocks blinked, i think vram was giving up
repair guy said i need phase shift thing too. so i think i will give him my gpu for repairment
Guess I need to spend less time on Discord
Unplayable on mobile
Why do computers advertise having AI
Like how Intel is really pushing their AI Copilot thingos
I don't understand, does anything even use the NPU?
@twin dew Remember tha hdmi cable talk yesterday? I had a funny situation. Bought a new 4K terrestrial receiver with Android TV and used an hdmi cable that came with it to connect the receiver to 1080p TV. The receiver did not recognise my TV for some reason until I replaced the hdmi cable with my own one. Later, I used the hdmi cable that came with the receiver to connect my old receiver to another 1080p TV and the cable worked
It's funny how I never had issues with HDMI in the past but suddenly they started appearing
Basically, as otherwise the repair will not last.
Paste can be used by people who know how to do it again and again themselves over the years, but really not worth it.
oh okay thank you
and each time i replace paste i will need to replace pads cuz they rip
Talk about HDMI cables?
Yeah. Noticed HDMI cables that come with receivers or other devices today sometimes don't work but this was never an issue in the past
Well, in my case that is
At this point, it's actually better to buy some high-quality cable at the store instead of using an hdmi that came with a product
i prefer not to use HDMI at all
If you have a monitor for your PC, you can use displayport instead but this is not the case with gaming consoles like nintendo switch or tv receivers/android boxes
They only use hdmi
some actually use DP internally
Or if you want to use TV as monitor. Dunno if any have displayports
because HDMI licensing is weird, and so it is sometimes cheaper for device manufacturers to use a DP to HDMI chip to get the latest HDMI standard
this is commonly done in Apple devices
I have a theory that manufacturers expect consumers to have their own higher-quality hdmi cable and that's why they put the cheapest hdmi cable in the box which might not meet minimum specs
i feel like it's just a value add so that they can say it includes one
i don't know, i don't use 4k, only 1440p and now my main monitor is 1080p so it doesn't even matter
Because it is the "current big thing" and "everybody/thing needs it"
and literally nobody uses it.
like. you can't run AI on it
it's pretty much unsupported
but they support it on paper ¯_(ツ)_/¯
yeah but...
i want to get apple neural engine working because autism,,, why use a hammer to drive a screw when you can use the screwdriver, which supports only screws
Company Christmas party. Some racing against clock with some slippery conditions
ordered honeywell ptm7950 and thermal pads, they say stuff will arrive tomorrow

In a deal worth nearly $83 billion, Netflix says it will acquire key assets like Warner Bros. Studio and HBO after linear cable channels are spun off into a separate company. Top Hollywood associations like the Writers Guild are raising antitrust concerns as there are likely to be regulatory hurdles to the deal going through. NBC News’ Chloe M...
I have HBO lifetime 33% discount, guess Netlif will cancel that soon and raise prices....
alreayd heard.
And make hbo content worse, of course....
I still pay for netflix because my mom uses it, else I would have cancelled ages ago.
I am considering getting a TV plan from my ISP because you get Netflix + IPTV for 12 € although I am not really sure because the content is becoming garbage with some exceptions
Other options would be to pay my sister's boyfriend 2,13 € per month so I can register my android box to his name and watch IPTV at the same time on multiple devices
I should also give disney+ a chance and try prime video to see if it's any better
Amazon is too big for Netflix to buy but Netflix could afford to buy Disney too
- other smaller streaming services to get rid of competition and increase prices
I dont think disney is for sale. The reason that netflix could buy warner bros isn't because they could afford it, but because it was put up for sale by the people who owned it.
Hope Disney doesn't change it's mind and decide to sell the company....
I've seen great companies in my life that were destroyed in less than 1 year after the owner decided to sell the company and it deeply hurts me
We had an awesome electronics store here where I used to buy home appliances, phone, tablet and other things. Customer support was great in my case but everything went to hell when the company sold it's business to another larger company
Now it's just a shadow of it's former glory
Btw, I am not a big Disney fan but when a major company starts buying competition, it almost always ends up bad for the consumers
Tell me the last amazing show you saw on netflix (netflix eclusive ofc)
The only one I know is Stranger Things, everything else is just meh...
Their last exclusive movie The Electric State was a huge flop
Ok, forgot to mention I liked Wednesday and Squid Game
I think the glory days of netflix are over 🙂
i got bored. turns out MLX models don't actually run on the ANE/NPU, best way to do that is to use anemell
see that's why I hate NPUs
why couldn't apple just. add ANE support to MLX-formatted models
why am i even wasting my time trying to get the ane doing something useful
i literally never use AI
the only time i use AI is to see how bad it is at doing something mildly specific
this is what i got when i tried for "robot lawnmower"
you wern't specific enough. lol
clearly not
Got the PC moved over to the new case, would absolutely reccomend the H5 Flow
Great design
My one complaint is that the cable routing shroud that is supposed to cover the 24 pin doesn't quite leave enough clearance and forces you to cram stuff a little bit without a right-angle connector
New cooler is great, PC is close to silent with a max recorded cpu hotspot of 65c after several hours of gaming
i know they're kinda frowned upon, but would a 90 degree 24 pin adapter help?
thats just every NZXT case
and for some reasson it isent removable either
mine is the same since all there boards have right angle coenctors
Yes it is?
i won't buy an NZXT case after watching that exposé by GN

i loved my P400As
still using all 3, just not for my current rig
i've noticed that a lot of new cases have the mesh rear panel now
hey, whatever works
Looks better than rhe cheapo gpu stand
the floor jack, yea
i wouldn't use it if i didn't absolutely have to
what's even dumber is my floor jack is apparently $65
for a goddamn bolt
Lol
Here ya go
Im not American
Unlucky. We still gotta deal with them...(.will not continue this)
At least u got walls
Water damaged area
The other wall just has the drywall removed
Yeah only 120 1ph
Well it was fun removing it. .
I like destruction
part of me says yes, the other part of me likes not having to hire a mason and a construction crew alongside notifying 2 historical associations that i'm removing a screw from a wall
Yeah......well can be evil.....sometimes it needs to be done
did they not seal off the entire foundation?
next time i have to do electrical work i'm 100% using wago
50s home
ah
i mean, now's the time for that spot 🤣
we overbuilt our house for american standards. exterior walls are all 2x6, all wiring is 14 gauge
14 is code
now it is. was 16 gauge when the house was built
14ga=1.6mm
im not merican
they switched to 14 gauge here when they realized they couldn't be bothered to have electricians NOT put 16 gauge on 20 amp runs
up here 20a needs to have 12
dumb question
m?
what's the 2nd run out of that outlet going to
ya mean the other socket?
the 2nd wire going out the bottom of that outlet in the middle
another socket
cant recall which one but that one is in the middle or is just after the pannel
kinda threw me off for a second, am too used to straight runs 🤣
makes sense to do that to keep it all on one circuit
back corner in the bg is th outdoor plug
i managed to find that they put a SINGLE outdoor plug onto the same circuit as 2 of my bathrooms
max allowd sockets iifc is like 10 on one circuit. we got max of 2 sockets per breaker
110V/20A
we made sure all our outdoor ones were 20A, as well as all the garage ones
don't have to worry about tools popping breakers
wher i am.. 20 a needs to have 12ga wire
mine are m18 and m12
well, i did once. was using an angle grinder on the same circuit as the air compressor 🤣 took me a minute to figure out what happened
ooooh maybe our 20A is 12ga. would have to check
ah. texted my dad
no home will have over 240 in NA
house was built with 12ga for 20 amp, and then an "enforced" 14ga for the 15A. apparently there was a scandal in the area with builders trying to get away with using 16ga because of the whole "well, 20% over its max is still fine" logic
Its not fine lol
exactly
20% under
16ga is apparently 10-13A, but the logic of "15A is less that 20% over that" was being applied to magically save cash on using 14ga
i'd much rather have a single plug for it all
try aluminum wiring lol
OMG 🤣
thank god i'm not in CA for that shit
that's almost worse than bad knob & tube
hold on
tabernak!
how about polybutylene water pipes 🤣
it was all still live
absolutely cursed shit being done with aluminum in the 80s & 90s when people thought it was a magical new thing
started using it as plumbing pipe. too bad chlorinated water would leach into it and turn it more fragile than a creme brulee
need pipe wrenches?
dead hx
couple years ago i had to reroute the condensation drain from one of my HVAC units
the old one was perfectly level, but below ground level. so every time it rained, it'd flow into the drain and fill it up with dirt & rocks
the big official A/C techs all wanted to install a goddamn pump and run a line up into the attic and over 2 rooms to reroute it
i opened up 2 walls and ran a fresh line with a visible gradient all the way out to the other side of the house for like $150 worth of parts & drywall and about $250 for my wizard of a drywall guy to come out and plaster it all
the A/C guys wanted $1800 just for the stupid pump
I'm trying to find my void rays atm too busy for yelling!
Gosh and where is my delta flyers
Thats waaaaaay too much
My HVAC technician got into panic mode when I told him I am planning to install solar panels on the roof and suggested I should pay him €3000 instead so he can install heat pump for hot water so I can later replace combi gas boiler with smaller one for radiators only while the heat pump would supply hot water
He was like: "Noooo, you need solar panel mounts for panels, the water will leak into your attic, the roof will start to rot and you will have to replace everything!"
Later, I realized he went into panic mode because I am planning to heat my home with AC only and use a small gas or electric boiler for hot water which is much cheaper than the expensive combi boiler and easier to repair
In short, he was afraid he would lose a lot of money on me
Paid shill detected (or just misinformed idiot):
I mean, if you hire a bad installer, there will be leaks but you could use the same logic and say you shouldn't install water pipes in your home because there is a risk a bad plumber could potentially cause leaks in the future
Or you shouldn't install electricity in your home because a bad electrician could set your house on fire
firefighters don't hate them. they just bring a lot of new considerations for them. different buildings have different characteristics. solar panels aren't any worse than regular roofs, but a firefighter has to treat them differently if they're there is all.
if ur gonna do that i wouldn't stop you from installing solar panels ( as i am a hvac tech myself)
@twin dew you were so right thank you
Omg
Still pretty bad but better
nah compared to 120
120 what
should be within like 10C of eachother but yea compared to the max temp its solid
True true
it was 110 but sensor maxed
wthats prob idle
playin modded minecraft rn
minecraft is not any load unless shaders or good resolution
hold on i got a idea
bruh it says 24 util
i dont run mine that hard
video encoding hits it at like 27%
thats like youtube vid
140 gigs
whats the point of using 25% of gpu
i got the rest avail if needed
how much util is in factory
in satis?
yes
i hope you at least have qhd monitor with that 9070
lol
cuz its kinda pointless else
nope 1x 1920x1200
buy good monitor pls
and 2x 1920x1080
your eyes will thatnk you
i run 3 screens.... i dont need more than 60 fps
you need more pixel density for your eyes to feel better
4k absolutely recommended
i get same 50 degrees on 60 util
so its just the load
yes that will show
what one?
you just lick on start testing or something
tbf its hard to get the image aand do the test at the same time
ah i got ti to be the inf one
how long do i run it for?
Nice card. What 9070 xt do u have ?
running for 2 min and its quite stable
xfx 9070xt oc
Sweet. I have the Rx 7900 GRE nitro+ I love the look of the 9070 xt nitro +
stable enough fior ya
ye good
BRUUH 340 watts
thats why i dont run it hard
Btw, I always wondered how the third return pipe for water works when you use a circulation pump to bring warm water faster to a faucet which is far away
I've always thought there were two pipes: the one for cold water and the one for warm water and they are both connected to a mixer faucet
yes
depends on the install the 3rd runs from the end of the line for the hot and runs all the way back to the wh or combi boiler (depends on what you have
I was planning on replacing my broken circulation pump with this one:
ahh grundfos
It's connected to a gas boiler and it has a timer/sensor so it only runs when it detects a flow
that sounds normal
The old was running constantly which only made me consume more electricity and natural gas since the boiler was constantly trying to warm up return water or whatever you call the water in the 3rd pipe
hot return
plus theres lots of heatloss if the pipes arent insulated
The new pipes were laid through the garden and they have good insulation. It was the only option since replacing the old pipes meant removing flooring and tiles
no basement?
I mean, it's for the kitchen and the old pipes are running under the house
ohhhhhhh so no basement abd a tiny crawlspace?
Not sure if you are from USA but the basement here is basically ground floor 😅
canada
Oh
so yeha no underground its a crawlspace then
Because ground floor in USA and Europe mean completely different things
ye'
We have no basement, just ground floor, first floor and attic (british english)
ah
there may be a small crawl space under the home where the pipes are run. unless its built older when they werent there
Unfortunately, there is only concrete under the house 😅
That's why we had to run new pipes through the garden because removing existing ones would mean pulling out new flooring and tiles
yeha that is a valid point
I was also considering getting a heat pump but they are not compatible with one-way pipe system
So, in the end, a solution was to simply buy few air conditioners which can cool/heat the room and use a separate gas/electric boiler for heating sanitary water
minisplits?
You mean when each AC has it's own outdoor unit?
Oh, no, we usually have wall-mount AC
any images?
I recently bought this
also know as single-split
indeed
Oh, those terms are confusing for me since I don't know much about AC
I only know about standard version and multi-split where you can connect multiple indoor units to a single outdoor unit but people avoid them because they are less efficient
multihead split
its a bit more nuanced than that, but yes
So far, I am very happy with Mitsubishi, they are quiet are reliable
multi-split is the main term I hear (EU)
we do the same here
both mitsubishies (electric & heavy industries) are pretty good quality from what I know
we use wolf steel up here (canadian brand)
I work for an ISP and we only allow Toshiba or Mitsubishi AC in central office where we keep network equipment that runs fiber to customers
but they do 2 to 5 ton heat pumps
Other brands are banned probably because of being unreliable although I don't like Toshiba AC tbh
dont meet standards ig
Not to mention AC in the central office runs 24/7
like fan runs or the ac
cause you can set them to have the fan runing all the time to circulate the air
I work with air-water and water-water heatpumps so not too familiar with the AC side
technically not really, although brine-water is sorta geothermal
yeah i realised after i said it lol
Speaking of geothermal energy, my city is doing a research right now because they found a potential source of geothermal energy
The city installed this massive drill
ooo
- why the 9070 then?

My house is not connected to district heating so technically, I don't have benefit from geothermal energy
properly done geothermal is really cool, but sadly only works in some spaces (I basically live in a marsh delta, so there is no real geothermal here)
i hated my old gpu
what does "hate" even mean in that context? and why?
i also dodnt go nvidea cause i dont like the new cards
old....slow 1060 3 gig
mostly needed more vram
why not 9060xt, 7600xt, 4060 or B570 then?
also: if you play games for nice graphics, a nice monitor will go a long way
its my money. i do run 3 screens and vr too so i over upgraded for future upgrades
that doesn't really make sense
only reason to overupgrade would be to avoid future upgrades
not to prepare for them
exactly
i like it more......it works im not complaining
also rendering
having a good day tho?
yeah, weekends been great
sounds great
it was, but I am now tired and need to work rest of the week
ah. i havent drank yet
hows your weekend?
tbf, 9070 was great value a couple months back
but why AMD for rendering?
Nvidia's OptX/CUDA has their number by a long margin
been good mostly doing some odds and sods.
anyways, upgrade your monitor, thank me later
id prefer to not deal with the 12v hpwr
ik the issues and its a dumb design
good QHD starts under $150 (gs27qa)
that just puts more usage on the gpu
most of the issues are user error, the rest is nonexistent on 9070 equivalents
don't judge before you tried. trust me, FHD vs QHD is a huge difference
and screen size is super irrelevant
and let's not forget that desktop WUXGA has been dead for years
so you're most likely on ancient panels
i am and im not complaing it works for my other computer
meaning muddied colors, low contrast, blurry motion
this dell is hot but works great
as I said, don't judge before you tried
they still make em for desktops
iirc 9070 was sitting around $450 at times
I would've rather spent $300 on smth like a 9060xt and $150 on a good QHD monitor
do they still do R&D on new better panels?
or are they just reusing the same old designs cuz nobody cares about improvements anyway
nope
you have either 16:10 WUXGA or 16:9 QHD
significantly different monitors
different panels under the hood
they do, but it's not QHD
they sell several different monitors on that one site
anyways, have fun gaming on a monitor with 5ms ADVERTISED response times
5ms actual response times would be amazing, but 5ms actual would be atrocious
yeah. that's a different monitor with a different aspect ratio and ultimately a different panel under the hood
i never said the saame pannel
was saying they sell em both
anyway...this works for my older pc (needs composite
you said "dall still sells em and qhd" which insinuates that they're selling QHD 16:10
they still sett 24 inch screens in that
well, your standards for "works for me" are so low that anything works if it just gives you a video display
then it worksd
okay, and? I never talked about 24", I talked about QHD vs FHD and WUXGA
you werre insunuating i meant one thing when i never said i did
except it doesn't because clearly there's more to your usage than a video output
else you wouldn't have switched your GPU
ya know what idc what others say. it worjks for me and thats all i need
I'm just providing you with information
oh fun fact 16ms response times
and calling you out on false statements
all i sad was that they sold them. not same res or AR same inch size.
it works for me
welp time to make the fsctory cart in stormworks
you made a moot point then
because my point was that WUXGA hasn't seen any meaningful R&D for monitors
I am still not 100% used to my 1440p.
There is this one game that really struggles with it.
All the text is small and I can increase the UI with a slider, from 100% to 110% for example, but then everything becomes blurry.
It's not the monitor, it's just the game being shit because other games don't have the issue 🤣
hello this might a bit extreme of a question. but does anyone know a way to install different graphics drivers like opengl on android phones?
afaik, unless you root your phone, you don't
How did u get it to show hotspot temp ? I've got everything else up but can't find a option for that
Nvm I found it 😁
do i need to root the phone to set up the driver? becuase i can change it already through developer options. and some of the games can change it also if they need it (DRG survivor)
yes
maybe a misunderstanding? OpenGL is a graphics API not a driver
maybe you are able to change the driver, though i doubt it
the API is up to the software developer
hmmm it seems to be. the warning does say "the graphics api has been adjusted to OpenGL". i thought they were the same thing. and i need to root the phone to manually change the api then. yes?
no, the API used is up to the developer of the software/app
How bad is the quality/price tradeoff with a USB dac compared to a pcie sound card?
The isolation sucks for my onboard audio and it has a very noticeable buzz
I just don't want to have a USB dac sitting on my desk.
pci-e has much the same issue, the problem is proximity to high current electronics (like graphics card vrm) which produces an EM field
CX31993 USB-C dongle
good DAC, cheap af, doesn't take up any extra space
Noted
I do want to find something with mic input
can do Fiio KA11/JA11 or Apple USB-C dongle alternatively (tho the European version of the apple dongle sucks)
The buzzing is bad enough that other people can hear it over vc and complain 😄
Noted, thanks
are you using a headset or separate mic?
if the headphones are harder to run, there's also CX31993+MAX97220 dual chip dongles
Nah, I have very basic headphones rn
I plan to upgrade eventually though
all the dongles I mentioned iirc are capable of handling a combo jack
Thanks, I appreciate it
if you have a separate mic anyway, there's a different issue at hand
I do wonder whether your PC might have some grounding issues
I'm not sure
It's a fresh build with a decent PSU, and I haven't had any issues with this wiring before
I swapped psu/gpu/mobo all at the same time, so I'm not sure which variable contributed to it
I do know this gpu can have fairly aggressive transients and it could be that the smoothing caps on my psu just aren't quite up to the task or it could be mobo filtering
Emi seems less plausible but is a factor
At a tbp of ~250-300w the peak momentary draw is usually around 500w
I'll also be on fresh hardware on January 7th if Lenovo is to be believed. Go on and imagine the desktops you could have built for $2500~. At least I got 15x Rakuten and 5% back on Paypal.
i'd just happy to see more 16:10 laptops out there instead of the pointless 13.1" 4K screens
It is EMI after digital to analog conversion. You can literally hold a usb dac next to graphics card and it will whine lol
From 25C delta-T to 15C, and those phase change materials take several thermal cycles to fully seat.
And if that is at same load, then even better.
Tho as you sait sensor was maxed at 110 so delta was even bigger
No, the firmware lowers power to stay at that 110C max, and the GPU would have force-shutdown at 115C
Thermal throttling: lowering power usage and performance to not go over thermal limit.
Oh so that's why i got 5-10 extra frames
Oh thats why mining will fry gpus bc they disable thermal throttling in firmware
To get more crypto
If you're running mining GPUs to the point of throttling, you're doing it wrong.
You want to optimize performance per Watt anyway
If you need 20% more energy to get 5% more crypto, you're reducing your profit margin
Yes, its common to lower power limit to run them in more efficient zone
Yeah, that's hard to pin down.
Do you per chance have a PCPP parts list of your build?
Tbh all of the GTX1060 GPUs I bought from miners and sold as gaming PCs worked flawlesly, some are in use still
One could even argue that used GPUs are often in better shape after mining compared to their gaming equivalent.
Gamers tend to overclock and increase power limit for the sake of more fps, sacrificing temperatures and noise levels in the process.
Miners on the other hand want to increase power efficiency, so they'll reduce power limits and undervolt to reduce power consumption.
This does however exclude custom mining VBIOS which could very well pose a lot of challenges (like disabling video output) when getting it to work for gaming
And running at constant temp is much less problem for most part than gaming type loads.
Just that some mining GPUs went through completely idiotic cleaning methods before being sold.
k, wacky time
is there any software that ties a vr headset's movement to an in-game camera's
VR mods for various games are a thing?
yea, been messing around with reshade a bit
trying to see if i can have a 3rd person view of my character and be in VR without puking
Anyone get randomly "new audio device detected" on discord? I get it sometimes after turning off my screen at night and turning it back on?
Oh, maybe it's discord just updating at night without any prompts to user? 🤔
I get it a lot
Displays audio functionality getting redetected.
Most monitors connected with DP go fully away in OS if you turn them off.
Nah, it doesn't happen every morning. Hence the word "randomly" and not "every morning when I turn on my monitor".
monitor only has DP cable, single monitor plugged into dGPU, nothing else.
Happens for me too, just clicking "dont change". Wonder if disabling the sound devices would help
I though maybe it's when I connect my headset to USB to charge it. But that isn't the case either.
Driver updates don't seem to be culprit either since all the rest keeps working.
But it started to happen since around time of new GPU, so either new driver problem, caching problem or discord update problem.
Do you use the monitor speakers?
My monitor has audio device yes. But if that's the case, I would get it every mornign no?
Unless it's just buggy?
I turn of my screen every night.
For me it happens when I wake my PC from sleep, and this was before the new LG TV that I recently bought
But if you all have it happen too, I am inclined to think it's a Discord issue.
It would be different if windows detects new audio device, but it's only discord 🤣
All I can find in the logs is "Installation Successful: Windows successfully installed the following update: Security Intelligence Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus - KB2267602 (Version 1.441.809.0) - Current Channel (Broad)"
But that would be wild a security update triggers this, or a reset on one of my USB ports.
Not really big issue for me, just one click on the "dont change" before joining VoIP channels
Oh, not an issue.
But just weird that it triggers without me changing audio device. And I haven't found the logic in it.
IF what baldur says is true, it would happen every morning.
Next time it happens, I should take note of which audio device it detected (headset or monitor).
Yeah. I might also try to disable the sound devices for each monitor, as I dont use them at all
Or my monitor is the culprit and not always sending same data when starting up.
So sometimes my systems mistake it as a new device 🤷♂️
But monitor is only 2-3 months old.
Mhm, yeah will do it too. I don't use it ever. Sounds crap and no added value to me.
The system time has changed to 2025-12-08T02:52:03.042595700Z from 2025-12-08T02:52:03.042297900Z.
Change Reason: An application or system component changed the time.
Sometimes, you don't want to know wtf your system is doing 🤣
Syncing clock over internet?
I think so too. Still weird way.
Yeah, you righjt.
few events before it
The time service is now synchronizing the system time with the time source time.windows.com,0x9 (ntp.m|0x9|0.0.0.0:123->104.40.149.189:123) with reference id 3180669032. Current local stratum number is 4.
I am closing eventviewer. This shit is not good for me because I want to know it all 🤣
What gen threadripper is the newest? Need it for pcie lanes
Damn. They are expensive
So Threadripper 7000/9000 with sTR5 socket for 80 lanes.
Or Threadripper Pro 7000/9000 with sTR5 socket for 128 lanes, and even higher price.
Yes, the CPUs themselves have MSRPs from US$1500 to US$12000.
And the MBs aren't cheap.
And then you need RDIMMs, preferrably either 4 (non-Pro) or 8 (Pro) of those.
With DDR5, you cannot use UDIMMs, as UDIMMs use 5V and RDIMMs use 12V input.
The motherboards only have 1 16x slot and the rest are like 4 or 1x in terms of how they are wired
Im going to be using some GPUs i have have lying around for some ai work among other things
And it would be cheaper to get one good GPU for that thing that cludge together bunch of leftovers.
In total for what gpus i have is 2 7900XTX and a 2080ti
No but I can put one together later or give you a list from memory
Gigabyte b650 eagle ax
7800x3d
2x24GB ddr5 6000Mt/s cl30
Gigabyte 9070xt gaming oc
(I believe) the PSU is 2024 corsair rm850
Ok thanks
B650 Eagle AX has kinda wonky networking hardware compared to other boards, idk about the sound stuffs
Bro has 1000$ gpus lying around 😭
Yeah I bought it eventually planning to upgrade with a 2.5gig nic when I get a new switch
Trying to figure out how to use them. I dont like the slot spacing on most modern mobo
Haven't had any issues with the onboard so far though
Oh yes cheap ones have one x16 and bunch of worse ones
Even the most expensive one sucks. Top pcie slot is m.2, next 4 are for 1 16x slot then you get 2 1x slots
My GPUs are like 2 or 3 slot and i have a networking card im adding in.
Nic is fine on gen 3+ 4x slot unless it's 10gig plus
8x+8x is pretty easy to get, but 8x+8x+4x is basically impossible because of the MB makers competing on amount of M.2 slots...
I only have 2 m.2 drives
1x 10gig NIC is fine on PCIe 3.0 1x slot, very tiny bandwidth limit from the PCIe.
I have a 2x10gig nic
As long as it is PCIe 3.0 or newer link, and not 2.0.
And i have 2 of those nics. One in my nas and the other is in my main pc
Even if i water cool the cards to reduce them to 2 slots, the slot spacing is what prevents me from using them.
But are you using the second port in the desktop card?
Only one has a water block and its a 7900xtx. Dont know where to find one for the 2080ti and i dont feel like going back to the maintenance of water cooling
Direct link to the nas
Point is that PCIe 3.0 1x will let 10Gbit/s network card do 8+Gbit/s in both directions at same time.
As long as the 10Gbit/s card isn't so old that it only supports PCIe 2.0.
0.985 GB/s after encoding etc.
Anyone here running AMD gpu’s? Particularly 9000 series, have you had any problems?
yes i do, and no i don't
i also probably sidestep man issues by not playing any of the currently popular games and not useing windows
Is it possible to use 2 7900XTX at the same time in games?
yes an no
sharing the load with crossfire is dead
you could run the game on one and framegen via lossless scaling on the other
Dug this up
Not sure if this is even worse than Netflix taking over WB....
It depends a bit on what the profitability is, generally yes, but not always.
In 2021 i was mining eth in downtime which was worth sometimes over 10x the power cost on my 3080, that is that being 1% faster for 5% more power cost would pay for itself twice over
With those kinds of numbers, i only slowed it down to avoid putting excessive wear on the card
Nope!
Compared to a 5070 my 9070xt has been quiet, stable, and reliable so far
And between those two cards, 5070 is slightly slower than 9070xt and 5070ti is distinctly faster. For my part I'd be willing to pay an extra 50-100usd for a 9070xt over a 5070 and if you see a 5070ti within 50usd of either of them buy that.
Doesn't matter. We will end paying for it
I will whine about LLMs seem to code even worse
Don't ask why I am trying to get it to code... I just kind of need them to, and it makes me frustrated cause I read that code and it's just.... argh
Jetbrains went full LLM for their IDE's.
it's about 100 euro a year to use their "pro AI"
UE 5.7 also added AI to their editor.
i feel like this is the proper place for this...
i made a factory builder in 2 days. it's not very good and certainly not fun but it's the first one i've ever really finished.
i mean, it was pretty fun to make although i did not do very good lol.
At this point it's just deliberate subpar code
Maybe just a weird quirk of how it merges different sources
But latepy beenn getting real crappy for loops
Oh I know, it drives me nuts
I see it get stuff wrong in really subtle ways all the time and that just makes me assume that if I don't see an error it's probably because I don't know enough to spot it and not because it's not there
And it doesn't seem like it can be fixed by prompt. It just doesn't know how to be better
I can't imagine how a company like ms functions with so many devs just taking straight AI code and shoving it into prod
(Oh wait, they don't
)
It just keep giving me the wrong answers.
So much talent goes to waste...
Sending me to chase my own tail.
Try prompting it about regex
I lost more time than I won by using it I think.
That happens so often
The best use I've found for it is to give me things to research
I.E. need a new programming technique to solve a problem, prompt AI, research the techniques it suggested as well as any I can find on my own
Yeah high level it's fine. But the details/implementations/actual code ... no.
I just needed some perl-style regex and I figued it'd be faster to prompt chatgpt about it than figure it out myself but no
And especially niche stuff, it really sucks at it
All I wanted to do was grep -Po '#define\s+\S+' > someFile
it's frustrating
Yeah, very much so
Especially when VScode re-enables all the AI features after every update no matter how many times I turn them off
I don't need copilot trying to guess what the rest of this line will be because it's wrong
I tried installing VSCodium today. Which went fine. But then I wanted UE editor to pick it up. And it was a no-go.
Put it into the path. Symlinked it. Added to editorconfig.ini of UE5. Nada.
Lol
I had a similar issue with expo build tools/gradle on linux
You're supposed to just be able to set $ANDROID_HOME for your skd path but it turns out that that just... doesn't work sometimes
You have to manually edit the generated config files and insert the path yourself
that's why someone suggested Jetbrains Rider which can integrate with UE editor.
Or the default vscode UE wants us to use.
I hate it when something that seems so simple, and is logical, doesn't work.
I used to absolutely love Atom, I only switched to VSCode when it went away
yeah, they killed it.
So I'm considering switching back to pulsar now that vscode keeps getting worse
you know vscodium?
it probably also has the AI crap since it just a build of the same IDE without microsoft sauce over it. No telemetry.
Speaking of AI, I hope Larry Elisson falls from a cliff after saying AI-powered surveillance system will ensure citizens will be on their best behavior
It feels like billionaires started watching Black Mirror and they suddenly have crazy ideas
nah, they were always a bit crazy
as if there is a correlation between wealth and madness
I personally think billionaires do that because they feel personal satisfaction when they can control population
It's like a high school bully who feels satisfaction after bullying a poor kid
I think they are disconnected from our reality and live in a different reality. If that makes sense.
That too 👆
Like the famous "Let them eat cake."
Guess I am more crazy than them because I keep imagining a friendly alien will land in my yard and take me to a cosmic trip so I can finally leave this hell 🤣
aliens go a LOOOOONG way around earth 🤣
I believe they exist since universe is so big it's hard to imagine it
And if they know about us, they probably think we are still primitive species
I wouldn't bother if I were them.
Same 🤣
"People of Earth, your attention, please. This is Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz of the Galactic Hyperspace Planning Council. As you will no doubt be aware, the plans for development of the outlying regions of the Galaxy require the building of a hyperspatial express route through your star system. And regrettably, your planet is one of those scheduled for demolition. The process will take slightly less than two of your Earth minutes. Thank you."
*Earth screams in terror
Can't be worse than Vogon poetry tbh
textbook example: palantir, literally named after the dystopic LOTR-universe device. It's like naming your company Torment Nexus and wondering why everybody hates you.
i'm convinced that those people know exactly what they're doing with their naming schemes
palantirs were used for kingdom wide communication before they were corrupted by sauron
And Palantir is mass surveillance company.
well so it was in lotr also
why is everything in unreal engine so LARGE
its 60GB bomb over here 60GB bomb over there
Bleeeh uboot rant again...
Trying to normalize u-boot watchdog init sequence, but no matter what I do it's always poking at the wrong time...
I want it to poke at 1.1s but it's always at 1.7...
Bot just surveillance as far as I can recall...
Looking at their website couple years ago made me uneasy
Probably high detail assets with not much effort put into looking for best compression option
Unless it was a straight up decision of optimize for boot time instead of volume
yea it would seem the default enviroments are just really unoptimised full on games
which i guess is nice but also is so on theme with the unreal slop
I think I initially posted in the memes channel without realizing. Oops.
Is it possible to use this disc reader to rip 4k movies?
Lg slime portable bluray/dvd writer
Model # BP50NB40
my new little flashlight in action. hanging in the upper right of the case by the magnet
the good news: yay i can see what i need to clean!
the bad news: oh god i can see what i need to clean....
Generally, if it can read it can rip
Basically depends on the exact drive.
Some PC blu-ray drives can read Ultra Blu-Rays, some cannot.
Some work out of the box, some need firmware downgrade or hacked firmware to read, some cannot do it at all.
There is a meme channel? Good thing I muted it years ago
leaving the game on all night to make mats and also be a space heater
Cryptomining the best heater
Hope you aren't sleeping in the same room because the noise would drive me insane and even a tiny led light disrupts my sleep 😅
i can get it down to just the code lights on my system
and i use a sleep mask
plus it's shockingly quiet
noctua exhaust ftw
I set my pc to shutdown all lights when the PC is off. Even a clock light on my TV receiver makes me sleep harder lol
i can't do "big lights" like tvs or monitors, but small lights are fine
Basically, I need to make my room as dark as possible
i wanna meet the psychos who have rainbow unicorn vomit running 24/7 and can sleep with that no problem
why do people think apple "cheaped out" by not including touchscreen on their macbooks
because that's a cheap-out move, especially at their prices
i have used a touchscreen laptop and it's just annoying
that doesn't matter as far as i'm concerned. if they're going to charge 40% markup for their name, they can damn well include it in the builder as a free option
oh true
i fling monkey shit at snooty companies
i have a relative that works high-end retail, and the entire point of anything "high-end" is to be intentionally overpriced and breaks easily with garbage warranties, so that you have to show off how much money you don't care about losing
they charge 1099$ for a base model watch i think 40% is generous
When my monitor is sleeping there's this slow blinking light around the menu joystick so it's not as easily tapeable. Basically every night I move my chair to be between me and my monitor.
And it is again the monthly Reboot Day... 😩

"We value your privacy, but we value tracking you even more"
Man I keep telling yall this server is riddled with bots.
I have strong green light from surge protector under the desk and sometimes it bothers me. Going to need multiple tapes for that...
There's a small slip of window my curtain isn't covering so at a certain angle the street lighting can shine to my eye but that angle is so specific that it usually doesn't bother me or I move my water bottle to block it.
"Basically every night I move my chair to be between me and my monitor." - funny, I do the same with my chair, my PC case and my bed 🤣
lol
"I have to arrange my furniture a specific way or I can't sleep cuz electromagnetism"

No, I fixed that by disabling.
I am in about 30 communities and this is the only server I had to disable friend requests on, no clue why. Just facts.
Well, my PC is 1-2 meters away from my bed. It's either the chair, or I put a blanket on my PC.
But I think the blanket might lead to other problems
I could ofcourse turn of the PC, but that's not how stability testing works for this machine 🤣
My monitor itself had an option to turn of led on shut down. The little things.
If the 5090 didn’t absolutely melt a wack ton of connectors, itd be tempting to get
That is what the internetboiis will tell you, while in reality you plug it in and enjoy the fastest GPU ever after. And if it melts, get new one
Im not going through the hassle of having to deal with warranty bullshit
Plus, if i spend $2000+ on a single pc component, that shit better not have any issues. Idgaf what the manufacturer says.
That's why you got these.
So one can see if PCIE isn't fully plugged in before melting the GPU.
