it definitely dosent work
I have a 19" CRT monitor on a shelf
it dosent have any of the display left lmao
juuuust in case i need it.
it would probably be a fun challenge to try and fix tho
the one i have the tube isn't in the best of shape but it's acceptable
it only had so many hours left in it tho for sure heh
it's been a decade since that thing has been turned on... at least. I might plug it in and it's dead for all i know
I just miss the big box era of PC games... :/
Can we get big box Satisfactory? 😄
man now I'm thinking about it... could have some cool stuff in there like a map, silly little wrench keychain.... FICSIT ID badge...
The beatings will continue until morale improves!
that calls for less colors in that case
That's still all an OS is
And at the time the entirety of the linux kernal was under 1k lines as well
I really do think that modern software is very unneccecarily overcomplicated
thats kind of inevitable when the only requirement for code is that it works
so theres rarely effort to optimise it
going to change it to the every 1000th log soon?
unless you work on something that won't function without optimization
this is why storage suddenly becoming unreasonably large ruined everything
yea and more relevant to the average person id say same story for game optimisation
sorry i now need an extra 20 gigabytes to download a cod update
(4000-5000 songs)
Damn, searching 11k entries is not good performance wise.
freaking powerpoint slide when typing into the search box.
Going to be fun figuring out how to tune performance without a backend 😄
Sneaked in a little debounce and seems to do wonders.
Just wanted to share this:
My friend has a brother from another country, he wanted to build a PC, and his brother put a list for him:
Motherboard – Gigabyte Z790 D AX ATX LGA1700
RAM – Corsair Vengeance RGB 32GB (2 × 16GB) DDR5-6000 CL36
Graphics Card – MSI VENTUS 2X OC GeForce RTX 5070 12GB
CPU – Intel Core i5-14600KF 3.5 GHz 14-Core
SSD – Western Digital Black SN770 2TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe
PSU – MSI MAG A850GL PCIE5 II 850W 80+ Gold Fully Modular
CPU Cooler – Corsair NAUTILUS 360 RS ARGB 74.37 CFM Liquid
Case – Corsair 3500X ARGB ATX Mid Tower
I am going to change this because when I first saw his motherboard that costs 500 EUROS i knew he was fucking off the charts with affordability...
I approve of the: RAM, GPU, and... idk maybe thats it.
If anyone wants to assist with me putting a list together for him please DM me and when I make a final list I will post it here and in their DM's
Yes. Im serbian and these prices are insane.
why use an intel
Thats what im saying
Yeah thats what im saying
If you want you can DM me and we can make a list
500€ MB for 200€ CPU? wow
also would avoid Intel 13. or 14. Gen in general
motherboard prices just suck in general
dead platform boards are still going for over 300$ regularly and most are used or broken
so its not even just the new boards
the AM5 board I am eying is 150 euro 😒 Still pricey.
i think cheap mobos ended with am4
Yes
Some knowledgeable people say it's because AM5 motherboards got more complex.
But I don't know if that's 100% true.
probably not wrong, pcie5, ddr5, usb4, etc. need better build quality
but also not the whole picture
same bullshit around gpus
"shortages" "tariffs" etc
it's just greed. can't have a pc without a mobo
Core i5-110 or Core 5 110 or Core i5-10400? Intel revives 5 year old processor for new series. Two years ago, Intel announced that the 14th Gen Core series would mark the end of the Core i5 era. The new brand, which started with the mobile Core 100 series, now includes desktop models under the […]
fucking hilarious that intel's going back to 2020
yea the rebranding was the final nail of many
im not going to relearn branding when the existing one is perfectly fine if you spend even 2 seconds to understand it
and the new one makes no sense anyway
(This is RSD, calculate the amount to USD by dividing by 100)
(Also look at the red prices)
What one do I get for my friend in the end?
neither of the 5060's because there 8GB
the 5070 is the best of the choices although expensive obviously and the 4060 is ok at best
(Serbias prices are so high that 8GB costs that much, you cant get 12GB without paying $1000+)
yea but the 5070 is 12GB
Yes ik
Also this one i forgot to post cuz i accidentally posted 2x 5060's
wdym?
oh thatt
Newest Airpods
Yeah i might get the 5070 or else idk
Wdym by "it"?
oh i think it recognises only formal ways of talking
so saying "au brt nmg" (Damn bro I can't in Serbian) it will get the translate to just lag and die
i still cant get over the fact they actually said that
cortana was great at blowing out everyones eardrums in a 500 mile radius by being at 100% volume by default
and still is
Also, heads up
Sites that give you calculations like that are usually near total garbage
same even if it has caused me more issues than it has solved its still very nice to have
i do have a 1660, RX460, RX560, and a GT610 in storage
my upgrade path over time has been kinda wild
amd A10 APU, 1700X, 5600X, 9800X3D
RX560, 1660, 6600XT, 6800XT, 4090
my upgrade path has been very normal in terms of desktops
7700K, 10700F, 13700K
1070, 1660S, 4070ti
i'm still most proud of the A10 to 1700X jump. got it for $150, and it was in a Dell with a hilariously locked down bios
yea but i started on AM4, so i was kinda screwed there
that was legit one of those things to consider back then, go with AMD for the cost & decent performance, but no igpu
or go with intel for the igpu and reliability
12th gen is the last one i'd trust
i mean 13th gen has been stable for me but its definitely a gamble on your motherboard and less the cpu it seems
oh i have 0 trust in 13th or 14th gen, or the new core ultra
not to mention the outright fucking stupid power consumption on intel
yea the e-cores will do that if you dont disable them
because believe it or not having more than half your cores drawing power to achieve nothing is not exactly very power efficient
i'm shocked
i literally brute forced them off on my laptop and the performance doubled
off of pure thermal and power efficiency gain
not to mention the 3X in battery life
locked cpu be dammed you can go to hell
not looking to get a laptop anytime soon, but i'd have no idea what to get
Anything with a decent configuration
honestly theres nothing good outside of the very top end thats like $5000 because there the only ones with acceptable cooling
ngl i'm a bit tempted to go with a framework one
hot take but true
Hmmm fair
anything other than low end or top of the line is cutting costs on cooling
yea gimme one of those mid-2000s laptops that were so reinforced you could beat someone to death with it
my laptops cooler can barely cool 20W but it has a combined power draw of over 100W
whats even the point
so much can be done on a phone these days i haven't felt the need to even look at laptops
and if you need any sort of actual power, desktop is just not even a question
yes
it's too wide for one
couldn't stop either... heh
planes meant for it have a hook to land, b-2 does not
those pilots when they hit the deck actually gun it again in case they miss that hook
no hook no land
b-2 is meant to just keep flying and refuel in the air heh
it has a virtually limitless range as long as it has supply aircraft to refuel it
and they give pilots amphetamines... so they can go for at least a few days
the wright brothers would see that thing and be like what the...
lol
imagine that 54+m wingspan flying over super low
they'd totally think it was aliens...
They had a lot of good rocket guys too
we used a lot of those guys for our space program
if it was post ww2 it was probably a former nazi scientist/engineer lol
i mean they did have a lot of ahead of it's time stuff... tbh
like jets... just way too late
if they'd had those in numbers by mid war... wooweeee
now doing space stuff is just gettiong more and more common
I look at the space shuttle design now and it's like wow what a pile of junk but when it first was shown then launched i was amazed
now elon yeets out starlink satellites like a pez dispenser
I met a guy once that knew Klingon...
pre revolution writings here are typically worth a fortune lol
well anything that was imortant anyhow
i mean, i've been overflown by a B2
it's kinda like the first time you see a 747
and you wonder how it's staying in the air
i have something that flies over my house that'd probably make some germans nervous 🤣
80 years old & still kickin
B-17
the thing that levelled germany
here it is last time i saw it. think it's about 1000 hrs of maintenance for every hour of flying
13x0.50 cals
you'd think humanity would learn
and now it's repeating
@warm blade what about AMD? How expensive are the RX 9070s?
ARC b580 is a solid card, but I don't know if the drivers are stable enough for your average gamer.
They are no longer "nerds only" though
Oh they're more than stable
I have several friends firsthand that have purchased them as entry level cards for non-techie gamers and had stellar experiences
They are flat out the best sub-300 dollar gpu we've had in 5+ years at least
Honestly, I don't think we've had an offering this competative since the 1660 series
They more or less keep up with the rtx5060 at a significantly lower price
And performance wise, the 3060, 4060, rx6600, rx7600 are all a joke in comparison
Newegg has $250usd b580 with a 70 dollar game included in stock right now
That is cheaper than a used 3060 goes for on ebay at the moment
There legitimately has not been a better buy in gaming for several generations int hat price bracket
Yes
because its the first tripple a shooter than probably wont suck
If you want to buy a low end 1440 or high end 1080 card the 9060xt is a great deal at around a hundred dollars more for ~40% performance uplift
Oh wow
Newegg actually has 9060xt for $300 on sale atm
That's a smokin deal as well
But
9060xt has has half the vram of b580
So if you care...
is vram really even THAT important
is this an interrogation?
ch720n
and thats like it lol
i only like it since its 100~
yes
because i honestly know 0 other brand that makes decent headphones
wait what
Hinge Problem™ bought hyprx?
so thats why their keyboards suck now?
you should just wait to hear what the us judge said about the goog monopoly
what is that audio knob
wait why is there 2??
this thing is a car dashboard just for your computer
at this point just buy an old used car and put all the buttons as knobs and other stuff
that might make you happy
european!!!!
i love facebook marketplace
i know
i wish to have his algorithim for it
it is incredible
not that it matters lol
to just see random stuff like that is incredible
i 100% want "BARRELS, PRICE FREE."
or the "FREE Free Refridgerator."
oh i cannot wait to buy a 36 thousand dollar "24ft Coast Guard RIB, Aluminum Hull, Diesel 230HP"
i get that this is a scam but who in there right mind out of everything they could list it would be this
source: just trust me bro
man i just wish there was a seperate app for marketplace
ok but they were going to die anyways
gotta finish them sooner
qhar
$900 with 2 fans against the nvidia rtx 5070 which is $70 cheaper and has 3 fans
The number of fans has little meaning
I'd say go for an RX 9060 or B580 over a 5060
RX 9070 over 5070
Also, 5000-series Nvidias still doesn't have stable drivers...
Also, are you sure you aren't looking at prices for 9070 XT, and not 9070 non-XT?
Curious; anyone in here ever exeperienced a PSU going unstable after 4-5 days? Is that technically possible?
Because I am trying to think, what part of the PSU, can get "unstable" and cause an issue after a few days. If that's somethign that could happen.
Same as with any electronics with caps and active silicon: Yes, is possible.
Really after a few days consistently?
Also I get this weird error when I try to look into my WHEA logger after a crash.
And then when I restart, the WHEA logger is empty showing 0 entries. FFS Microsoft.
Technically possible, not common, but possible in unit.
And WHEA logger just logs what the CPU reports.
If CPU doesn't report anything, there isn't anything to log.
No. Crash. I open WHEA logging. I get error about something I don't understand.
Event viewer closes. I open WHEA logging. It's empty.
So there is a chance that something gets logged in WHEA, but even viewer craps out and deletes it on restart.
"unload snap-in" ...
MMC is that program that Event Viewer is snap-in module for.
Basically MMC is the base program, that takes plugins (snap-ins) for different things.
Group Policy editor, Event Viewer etc. are snap-ins for that MMC.
Microsoft Management Console.
That naming has been there since probably Windows NT 4, possibly NT 3.5
So before Plugin was common term.
So in more common parlance:
"Plugin crashed, do you want to unload the plugin and continue with the program, or close the whole program?"
🤨
It always happens when I click whea logging at startup of eventviewer.
Fuck it, it's still a Microsoft product. What can I expect.
Which then tells that something is wrong with the config for that view, or the base data file that contains the WHEA-logger logs.
at Microsoft.ManagementConsole.Internal.SnapInMessagePumpProxy.OnThreadException(Object sender, ThreadExceptionEventArgs e)
at System.Windows.Forms.Application.ThreadContext.OnThreadException(Exception t)
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.InvokeMarshaledCallbacks()
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m)
at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)
Unhandled exception.
My main PC Windows for example seems to have 402 different event log data files.
In %SystemRoot%\System32\winevt\Logs
let me check.
I got 366 😄
But if that Event Viewer doesn't crash when selecting System, then it is the View settings that are broken and you would need to delete that WHEA-Logger view, and recreate it.
🤦♀️
As most likely cause.
Nah it works. But no clue if it deletes entries or not.
But based on your explanation it shouldn't.
Since it's just unloading a "plugin".
No, it doesn't delete entries.
That WHEA-Logger is just View, set of selection commands on what to show from the logs.
If you remember, we just selected that it will show log entries from that specific source, as easy access view, like views in DB use.
They aren't tables, they don't contain data, they just select data from tables for viewing with presets.
So a new idea I had, yesterday, I was listening to the ticking sound getting worse and worse. And then bam, I had a crash. But I am still not 100% if it's PSU, motherboard or CPU or a fan ticking. I suspect CPU/Mobo/PSU. Then at one point it really sounded like it was comming from PSU, and that would explain why I didn't get any WHEA logging.
I tried hitting on the case a few times, that helps for fans ticking noises, didn't help 🤣
So, I am afraid I have to take PSU outside case to be sure if that's the cause. Of the ticking sound. After 4-5 days of running 24/7.
In short, first batteries and other hazards are removed manaully, then crushed to pieces and then plastics and metals separated, and then valuable metals separated from each other
Maybe, complex processes today to separate aluminium from other metals in automated recyling facilites. Magnets, vibrators, RTG etc
Windows 11 update doesn't seem at fault like I expected.
Tweakers thinks it's heat that caused the SSD's to shut down. If that happens during a write, it can cause issues.
Some from heat, some from being drives with preproduction firmwares provided by AMD to reviewers with X570 motherboards and never updated.
Thermal throttling code in firmware being buggy probably.
And people 👉 Microsoft.
And JayzTwoCents was using non-released MB BIOS version too for that E25 thingie.
Microsoft: "nu, not us" 🤣
🤡
Which was also long outdated.
GPU test bench using non-released MB BIOS from somewhere late 2024...
Basically provided to reviewers directly to fix some then current issue.
But without full testing.
and J2C was using assrock. 🤣
And no matter what MB, should have updated to next Stable BIOS/UEFI ASAP.
I shouldn't speak too soon.
And not stay on "quick fix" reviewer only firmware.
30fps cutscenes ?
you've got to be kidding me
Thats still the norm
what
hell naw
i cant remember the last time i played a game where cutscenes were locked to 30
[on PC]
Hell
Neither BL 3 OR 2 did this
This is just stupid
If you could do it then what stops you from doing it now ?
Hell i don't even think BL 1 does this
Im going to crash out the wifi is down
- Assassin's Creed Shadows: 30 fps cutscenes.
- Expedition 33: 30 fps cutscenes.
- Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: 30 fps cutscenes.
...
iv also seen some games display a fake framerate during cutscenes to hide this lol
like rendering a small scene in the background
wait, what ? lol
Send frames with higher FPS, but just send same prerendered video frame multiple times.
Some games still do stupid shit like devs prerendering cutscenes and saving them as video files, even when they just use ingame engine to generate them...
OOF
In which case 30FPS saves disk space.
why is it that my phone is only power efficient when its to run a hotspot lmao
its like if its trying t oget me to waste my money
its been at 98% for literally 40 minutes

reality: a colaboration between a new york university, intel and AMD

So in the last few days, I read so many articles about EU back paddling their decisions.
EU is not going to fine google. EU is not going to fine Microsoft.
Fucking puppet show.
Per color, or combined?
Mostly we are currently at 8 bit per color, 24 bit total.
With some monitors supporting more now.
16bit total was used in the past.
"big box" in this context?
Didn't understand the morning one either.
How many bit is this?
Lot of games with 24bit color support/use were released before large size physical packaging with extras and actual manuals etc. went away?
Including basically any Windows 95 games and lot of Windows 3.1 games.
That original VGA 8bit (256 total colors) palette is very limited.
8?
And seems that even VGA Mode 13h was already 18 bits, 6 per color.
No, that was talk about MCGA Mode 13h in VGA Mode 13h article...
Apparantly gameboy light had grey. Played a lot on the gameboys.
And I never realized the green. Was just mesmerized by gaming 🤣
that framerate though, it's better than some modern games rofl
The more we go forwards, the more powerful our hardware becomes, the less performance we get out of games haha
Ah, VGA was 6+6+6 bit (18 bit), with just that you could only select 256 color palette (8 bits) from that larger color space at one time?
Interesting
using 14/16 threads (7 cores vs 8) (7 core + 7 threads) is better than using 15/16 (8 core + 7 threads) 🙂
double numbers because of core threads
😛 dis mine
crap translations?
i've never actually played any of them 🤣
didn't have a disk drive
i don't even know if they'll run on win11
SVGA was around
resolution was low compared to modern times but the colors were there heh
it was 24bit color
By the time 486's were on shelves it was standard really
maybe some earlier 486's had VGA but typically SVGA
big big box games... could use SVGA
i mean maybe not the earlier ones... before it existed
Like all the old Ultima titles i got, those were in some cases just CGA or EGA, but VGA and SVGA didn't exist
My Tandy 1000EX has CGA
and I had a modulator that might work for plugging into a TV
well hooking to a TV... would be more appropriate
looking back I realize how hacky hooking up an Atari was... it had a modulator then hooked up to the antenna terminals
then it was just a switch... channel 3 or channel 4 (in the US)
and it felt more like a slider than a switch bit it was a switch
just so hacky that you're using the same type of signal as would be broacast and just feeding it straight in wired to the atenna terminals
so hacky lol
no
I didn't like the movies so I doubt I'd like the games lol
I know people that love Dune
and I'm like yeah I love the movie... if I wanna go to sleep
I can't do e-books either even if I'm into it, puts me to sleep :/
me? nothing
cousin had an N64
i had a GBC
parents wanted me to work on school & not have games
The last conole I had back in that era was a Sega Genesis
by then I was too busy with more important shit... like shasing skirts
*chasing
I didn't even do anything with pcs between the 286 and 486 eras
i went from a 286 to a Pentium I heh
talk about a huge leap
Well wait I did have a 386 laptop at one point... VGA too but black and white
we just had 1 home pc until the mid 2000s, and they were really just for email, they weren't good enough for any kind of gaming
it was used when I got it, wasn't gonna spend what they cost new
yeah 90's pcs were not gamers for sure
i mean some could do it and later on there were cards but it wasn't typical
and there weren't as many enthusiests as now
my parents were kinda convinced that the whole computer & internet thing weren't going to last, so why invest in it for yourself or your kids
well early on it really was
images on html was a huge stir int he day
some people were way against adding that to the standard
possible next step in image compression?
arxiv.org/pdf/2407.01866
Image-GS: Content-Adaptive Image Representation via 2D Gaussians
due to bandwidth, and they kinda had a point.
a site would go from 1 or 2kb or text to 10x that or more
earlier internetters also were not fond of AOL giving folks an onramp... like here lets get the least skilled users on there...
weird mixtures of gate keeping and legit concern
My first internet was via a secure shell account a friend at a uni got me set up with
nobody even had it at home yet...
used to see a lot of ARPA addresses back then... still see them now but very rarely
I didn't have faster than dialup until 1999
then it was 1.5mbit/256kbit
I think I can go up to 5gbit where i am now... lol
lets have a look, what button will tempt me to click upgrade
AT&T Internet 5000
5 GIG speed
Was $255.00 per month, now $155.00 per month
$255.00/mo.
$
155.00/mo 😄
2K a year on wifi is crazy
I pay for 500/500, get 600/600.....from time to time it'll hit 1000/600
hard for a small isp to exist in this country
the large companies already have the backbone b/w or get a better price on it than you can
heh spider comes back... jumps right on me
Baldur, Ronak Singhal is going to leave Intel. Just so you know when you wake up 🤣

what a time to be alive!
I did post a link to this paper earlier today
(video itself is meh, 40% of it's time is wasted on spelling "awesome" and "magic")
so for those who might have seen Hank's video about recent "we don't know how else to explain this if not by life on Mars"
there's a more detailed, better structured history recap made by Anton Petrov, that includes "canals", "bacteria" and most recent talked about finding
The paper does not have a particularly exciting name https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-025-09413-0 "Redox-driven mineral and organic associations in Jezero Crater, Mars" but I am going to explain to you why it could go down in history as a pretty important moment.

though I guess in reality it would be more of question of at what point it branched out

with a vertical gpu mount, is there any way to add in other AICs

got a usb hub in one of the pcie slots
iv got a network card but atleast thats tiny
But who makes the training set and trains that "AI" minister?
And who writes the prompts?
other AI ofc.
Baldur. Am I confused?
About what?
Does this "staff" confirm the SSD issues from W11. Which Microsoft itself denied?
Because the staff member might just be going by the same rumor mill as everyone else.
And not by any official MS guidance.
Fuck my life.
I am not confused.
A bit silly that Microsoft External Staff, is ignoring official Microsoft statements.
They should remove the "microsoft external staff" all together. And just call em. I don't know. Users like the rest of us. 🤣
AFAIK basically they have even less contact with MS than I do with CSS.
Because CSS people actually post here from time to time.
Yeah, you told me
Well, they are getting paid AFAIK, unlike me for example.
ok, and they give shit advice
Basically MS pays external shitty companies to staff people for the site etc.
But that staff then has no contact with MS people.
Pay, training, etc. of first tier externalized helpdesk people, with responsibilities of the highest tier internal helpdesk people.
But as no-one can complain that they cannot do the job they seem to be expected to do, that doesn't matter to MS.
Or the companies they actually work for either.
So MS is paying people, who go against their official statements
oh boy don't tell me people are this stupid...
because why would they
if theres no reprocution why join in the lie
as always - because there's a warm seat
Because it's likelely the windows update had nothing to do with it?
I mentioned it before; likely cause they think is heat.
And also sounds like a very plausible reason if you think about hot these summers are getting in some places.
- People update, SSD overheats, shuts down. If lucky all good and you restart. If unlucky some errors during IO operations.
- J2C was using old ass bios, and likely old bios drivers are also not helping.
Not that old old, but it was special "crap, something is broken for reviewer, lets bash quick fix to that issue and send it direct".
But people like to shit on Microsoft, so I get it. But to me it still sounds a bit weird windows update causes these issues. And the best paper I read so far, said it was heat.
And so far, I haven't seen anything better as investigation.
And it has other stuff broken during that.
That was known and fixed in next actual stable BIOS.
But the moment somebody can proof without a doubt, that the specific windows update 100% kills SSD's, then I accept it.
Which is crazy to me, this is what my gen4 drive sees under decently heavy loads
Cool.
This is what researchers see. Right before SSD fail. Going from 76 degrees to 0 and then bam SSD goes out.
Yeah, to be clear
Not saying I disagree
I was just saying it was fascinating to me that SSDs were getting that hot
During summer, the hotter of my 980 Pros with MB heatsinks on them hit 75+C when system was loaded in games.
Got heated by GPU.
My hardware, was 100% hotter during the summer.
My room temperature was 35-40. Now it's 20.
That makes sense, especially since the EU is so allergic to AC
And installing windows update, lot of IO operations ... I don't know. It makes sense.
Yeah, that 58C number for me was during a game update
With 4.2Gbps reported write throughput
It's either accepting that. Or the general "Windows update did it" with 0 proof.
Again
I believe the heat argument
I'm just saying that it seems like there are some design issues there on some of the drives, probably coupled with poor m.2 positioning on the motherboard and bad case airflow, especially if it's right behind the gpu backplate like many are
Ah, sorry. It's just that in so many communities I still see this "windows update kills ssd" stuff going around.
Somebody was updating a game on steam, saw 100% activity on their disk, panicked and asked for help.
The help they got was; "Ah, yeah, windows update fucked your SSD".
That's super frustrating
Lot of people who think that CPU, GPU, Disk etc. at 100% usage is somehow dangerous or that something is broken when that happens...
I know ... and I might be wrong.
but I think they think 100% activity = 100% write.
Yeah, I'm never quite sure how to combat that either
Doesn';t it just mean the disk is active for 100%, no downtime? Or does it relate to IO.
This was one of their pictures.
Yes, just that it is working as fast as it can, and hitting it with more orders will not speed things up anymore.
It's also like how 100% cpu doesn't even mean that your chip can't go faster
Basically that that average response time/latency has started to rise significantly.
Is WinDirStat still relevant?
Oh, and they a driver update and the issue was gone
anyway, back to scraping. I hit a setback 🙁
lET'S FIND OUT
Javascript 🖕
Lol
Oh goodie
What a shocker, it's pointlessly huge games
Oh NO WAY
Google drive cache didn't get cleaned up after uninstalling 3 years ago and it's stil 55GB
Adobe also has a 60.3GB thumbnail cache
Oh my npm cache looks cool when visualized
Wait
npm, somethign that scares me now 😄
with all these packages getting hacked/injected lately.
i am concern
largest folder tree on this pc is launchboxs downloaded image/art etc
2nd is pinball fx heh
external has a whopper but that's a full MAME set
I got a cleanup script lol 😄
I want to just finish up my js projects and nuke it all 💀
'npm cache clean --force'
welcome to dependency hell
Ok, so my second scraping script. Is more robust than REST calls. And quicker. And I don't get gated. And it's using a browser 🤣
They can't stop me now. Mhuahaha.
Also funny, like they use ID's for all these knowledges.
And you have id's between 0-100. Then it jumps to 500. Then to 1000. Then no id's. Untill you hit around 14000.
Fix;
while rotating_id <= 20000 🤣
No, why are the id's all over the place 🤣
Like if I have game, and I add knowledge, and I give it id's.
Why make jumps?
what are you scraping either way?
some game lore stuff, pretty innocent.
Maybe. It's weird. because even the newest patch of this week, added new content. But the id's just jump.
As if a developer just guesstimates. "Mhm, I think we stop at 5000 last time. Let's start this new lore/knowledge at id 10000 to be sure".
No idea, unless the site shares ids among other games but they're tied to some base path
So, there are two sites that do the same thing. And both have same id for same knowledge entries.
So either they scrape eachother. Or it's such in the game files.
Then gaps could be considered "normal" but I'm still gonna say a range of 10000 is strange
Ye ids from in game stuff could be related
So I ran my script on another website yesterday.
I get 11K entries. But I had a loop of 20K.
so 9K is just missing 🤣
Where there is the timeout, that's missing knowledge.
Idk 🙂
I call it timeout, because script waits for DOM element, if it's not there in x time (that I set) move on and assume page isn't loading.
When manually visiting the pages, I can confirm there is nothing there.
Weird right? Ah well. Developers are weird creatures 😄
yup
hmm?
xD
So, the website says; scrape me. Right?
I though robots.txt was used by websites to tell "robots" (scripts) what they can access and can't.
me neither.
But let's just say, that is what it's telling me so i can just continue without a worry 😄
I don't have a worry anyway. Already spotted enough on the website.
Trackers to russia. Trackers to google. Some ugly stuff under the hood.

It seems like Borderlands 4 has launched with a few performance problems on PC, even with high-end graphics cards. Today I thought we'd take a look at how well the game runs at the complete opposite end of the spectrum, using nothing but integrated graphics. How bad could it be?
Test Specs:
AMD Ryzen 7 8700G
Radeon 780M iGPU
32GB DDR5 6400MHz
...

that pile of poop actually runs at 1080p60 on a 5090
Yikes, Borderlands 4 not going well?
For a bunch of other people? Yeah it's not going well. I have an eyeball and didn't buy it
Eh, borderlands kinda lost me. I had fun. Years back.
And modern games = shit optimization.
Bl2 was the peak
First we had the new metal gear solid turning PC's on fire.
now it's borderlands.
How do they fuck up cartoon graphics and performance?
Am I missing something?
Lumen is infamous for A: using a wildly disproportionate amount of resources - and B: looking bad
yeah lol
at least give minimum settings SSGI or somethin'
2012 borderlands ran better on a £270 graphics card than 2025 borderlands runs on a £2400 graphics card. No joke
Borderlands 4 claptrap vs borderlands 1 claptrap 🤣
Ok, it looks a little bit more crisp. But not to say, wow. The graphics got so insanely good, it will hit performance
Pretty madening
Though i guess its to be expected for borderlands these days
Yeah, i just don't get why games like this and monster hunter basically broadcast for a month before launch that this is the case, and still make the steam top sellers despite a review score in the 30%'s.
BL3 also ran like crap when it launched on hardware of the time
you'd think that they'd be the most educated subset of the market or take like 10 seconds to google if there are major problems with the game
but it happens over and over
which is pretty baffling
I mean the console versions actually do seem fine to me
Might just be that the artstyle is really good at hiding upscaling
Those actually got some optimization work to the fixed targets.
PC is probably just "whatever, it runs".
And the devs might have put in work to make FSR 3.1 look decent
I wouldn't know tho, haven't played yet
ps5 performance mode has horrific upscaling shimmering/ghosting. Like 540p on an older fsr or something
https://youtu.be/qa9RzK3T8IU?t=296
look at the gun scope and the tree
In this video we'll have a look at Borderlands 4 performance on both the PS5 and a high-end PC. We'll compare image quality and performance using both Quality and Performance modes on the PS5, and then we'll have a look at the PC version to see how it performs.
System Specs:
Intel Core I7 14700KF @ Stock
32GB DDR5 7200 MT/s CL30 RAM
Nvidia GeF...
There have also been games where lowest settings you can select on PC are better than the settings Console versions used...
monster hunter wilds did get flack for it
It did! From the top of the best seller list.
and MHW did a demo. And that ran ok.
I don't play or know the series, and i knew a month before launch that it was a trainwreck because steam had a free benchmark.
but they probably optimized the demo zone legit.
I only saw it on the scope but the rest looks fine IMO
The demo runs awfully
I played the demo. I had no issues?
I think it was 70fps on overclocked zen5 x3d + 5090 in one place. Ran it myself like 5x on different settings
I think that one was a bit misleading to some people.
oh not demo sorry
the benchmark that they put out before launch - it had a handful of scenes
and some performed okay, others extremely badly. Both CPU and GPU performance was poor, but the CPU performance stuck out the most. It was also just visually awful both in general and for its performance level
saw a YT video (already forgot from who) that said a gaming company admitted they should focus on low end PC's.
But... eh just words for now (if it's true).
Funny how the games with the biggest scope and most revolutionary features mostly work on an r5 5600 (or even 3600) but some recycled trash comes out and a 9800x3d is dipping and stuttering all over.
Haha, Battlefield 6 🤣 They already preparing.
Stutter 2 be like
"Ok guys, we got possitive feedback from open beta of BF6... LETS NOT FUCK THIS UP."
"skipping" how about just bin it alltogether.
"Everyone; optimize the shit out of this game"
we cant do it right so we just wont... EA 2025
Haha, so funny. They need money 😄
RT can do a lot of good, and it can run really well. It's incredible in DDA, and that game runs fine on a rtx 2060 as an RT-only game.
and call of duty fucked it up by adding rick and morty skins to the game.
(by fine: i mean, DDA on a 2060 runs faster than BL4 on a 5060)
so the market (FPS) is wide open for BF6,.
TDA has suuuppperr light RT only tho
OR a supper heavy mode (PT)
They have a wide range from light to some of the most extreme RT load in any game. As it should be.
Point is, it's one more tool in the box which can be horrifically misused
BF6 guys basically decided that they want to target lower end hardware than a 2060, or achieve very high performance even on a 2060, and they don't want to develop 2 different light/shadows/reflection models - so they just went zero RT
Better than shipping it with ray tracing and people be mad.
and it's working well for them
but DDA approach of configurable RT-only works too.
What i don't think is gonna hang around for much longer is the "this game can do raster or RT" stuff. People will increasingly pick one or the other, and it will tend to be RT i think.
What do people want? Whining about optimization. Then developer is responsible and skip x features to focus on performance. Then people bitching about features missing?
The key is optionality
you don't have to crank DDA so that it hurts a 5090. But you can, so both parties are satisfied
Or, you ship a game that works for low ends.
with BL4, the game MUST have fps dips on the best CPU's and run trash on lower end ones. You have no choice, the menu doesn't really change it and nobody is happy.
If it ran badly on "extreme" and ran well on other settings then people wouldn't complain
And gradually release features for high end after release?
I think it's very hard for developers to please everyone (low-end, mid-end, high-end AND investors that want the game out of the door so it stops costing money and starts making money).
BL4 has godamn denuvo
Im betting that's actually to be blamed for the stuttering given most other UE 5.5 games don't stutter this much
What do you mean with some? Developers, gaming companies, games, ... ?
Developers, companies. Gearbox CEO is like a drunk guy with a microphone
Oh for sure.
And kinda weird, that big companies are struggling harder. Or might be a wrong perception from my part.
Whyyy
They just had to boost day 2 sales by 2% by fucking up smoothness and spending a couple million on denuvo
But it sure feels like that sometimes.
For sure! Dedication, passion and a company that did all the correct things it seems. Or a lot!
Doesn't use most UE 5 features tho
It goes to prove that the underlying engine is fine though, since the most technically impressive game since the advent of Doom can run on it and run great.
And then companies with money and a lot of resources, struggle to put out something decent. I know this one is beaten to death in this channel, but ... greed?
But does for example use Nanite right, which is thing that most UE5 get wrong.
Or something structural wrong in big companies.
The way teams etc are structured. The managers etc.
Only super sparingly tho
Management hell
Pretty much only cliffs
I see it everywhere.
my sympathy!
But point is that lot of UE5 games have the ultra-super-high definition raw artist assets in the game, and try to use Nanite to downgrade even to full-LOD models.
When the documentation says that you must downgrade the artist assets manually to the highest LOD version, and let Nanite handle the rest.
Even Satisfactory had to downgrade some of the terrain for Nanite, as some parts were just too high-poly as baseline full detail LOD.
Ohh
Damn
Bet no game fixes this post release
Probably not, maybe some, but idk.
For dev, i would say: Look at performance at the start of your project, not the end. Monitor with every major change. If it falls off a cliff, figure out why and when/if that will be fixable, and consider reverting or approaching in a different way.
A lot of these guys go neck deep into nanite, lumen etc, basically finish the game, and then look back and go "..oh shit".
and at that point the terrible decisions are locked in and you'd have to rip out and repave half the game
Let's not forget. Developers might know. But people above them put pressure/time restrictions on them.
Basically Nanite on PR speak was "it handles LODs for you".
When the actual documentation says, it handles generating lower LOD versions from the classic full-LOD game models at runtime, not the artist assets.
So when before you had to create 4-10 different LODs manually, from that full artist model, now you only have to create one.
But lot of companies took that as just using that artist version and not creating even that single game version.
read the documentation
rtfm
And Nanite isn't made to handle that kind of detail at all, or downgrade the models by 100+x polygon count.
did you tell CSS that? 😛
Like I said, in some of the Nanite videos CSS people told that Epic recommended them downgrade some of the terrain models, as they were too high polygon count before.
With IIRC before and after close up wireframes to compare.
When final 2% of allegedly 3 minutes update take longer then 6 seconds....................

how shitty are 10$ ds4 controllers expected to be
i bought one and its having connectivity issues sometimes delaying keypresses up to 1-2 seconds
even for a product thats expected to be bad i did not expect it to be so horrible
welcome to dropshipping
Would y'all be comfortable setting up a novice user with bazzite for gaming and web browsing?
isnt that like super easy
just install linux mint
test it out in a vm
and dual boot windows
Its basically install and done?
Choose the right options when downloading the bazzite iso regarding hardware and if you want to boot into steam big picture or not.
Steam is preinstalled - > log in and done
Firefox is preinstalled - > done
Yea
Its literally ready for that out of the box
its got firefox and steam pre installed
It supports KDE plasma too, right?
Is bazzite the one with no package manager or was that the one I can't remember the name of that I ran that's a game distro
It has read-only main file system.
So uses Flatpak, Homebrew and couple of other formats for additional programs.
Basically same as SteamOS itself on that front.
the popularity of steamos has motivated a lot of software to get flatpaks
thiccpak
flatpak just annoying
guys i have a question, i was making 90 screws per min for 22.5 iron per min is there a way to split iron easily into the smelter

I have a drive with a phison controller but not from one of those brands
Wait nvm
I forgot that this drive got parts swapped to an innogrit controller after release because of supply chain issues
Any idea if drives with those controllers were affected?
I really really want to switch my desktop over to linux
I've held off so long the dot is now red instead of amber. Because I already had my SSD 'break' once, if you remember.
There are only a few things holding me back
heh
My hwinfo is out of date enough that it doesn't properly report on rx9k
I'm very tempted to set up a dualboot
doit
dual boot is the safe option and honestly I would suggest keeping it that away even after for the random "I need Windows for this" moments
so thats why pacman wont work on steamdeck?
Yes.
All of the normal file system for program installs is read-only.
And even if you turn it read-write, any changes go away on next system update.
ok never mind i hate steamos
SteamOS is a dedicated "console PC" OS so I can understand and support why they did things this way
A bit annoying if you need to work around it when running it on your own hw and definitely not something for a main PC

There are so many repeating words in this
But certain tl;dr is that current known large scale way of storing co2 has limited planet-wide capacity and current policies are not enough to return to 1.5C global warming
Aka, we will continue producing (and storing co2) at same rate nad can kiss goodbye to usual temperature range cause at some point we will also run out of space for storing
Is it IG5236?
If so, your drive may be at risk of some other failures related to fast degradation
SMART problems with SSDs using the InnoGrit IG5236 controller
I could hit up some of the SSD folks I know, but the general gist of it is to avoid any ig5236 drive
Newmaxx might have more info
Noted
I guess I'll just up my disk image frequency
Failures depend on usage from what I've heard.
Also, it might be that you have an early batch where shit wasn't broken yet
Maybe!
First reports of ig5236 failures came in when there was a bad batch of YMTC NAND - but it quickly spread to other nand makers too
Hmm
I should check what nand I have
It may help that I have an aftermarket cooler on, I know this controller runs insanely hot
With the stock heatsink I used to see it hit 85c during sustained writes
As does any Innoshit controller
Yeah
IG5220 doesn't have the failure issues but still a hothead
Love me my Maxio stuff ngl
I bought this drive because it was supposed to have the e18
And then it got partswapped right before I bought it
Yeah, IG5236 on paper should performs similarly but costs less
From what I can tell I might have had the first batch with the innogrit controller
What drive is it?
Sp xs70
Ah, yeah, that one
You said aftermarket cooler, isn't the stock heatsink glued onto it?
So I'm stuck with whatever fw it has
Silicon Motion SM2264 is another competitor but it's only really used in like 2 or 3 drives
No, just very sticky thermal pads
I've taken the spreaders off of dram plenty of times so I felt comfortable doing it on this drive as well
And I've been using it for quite a while since then with good results
With my own personal experience and all the stories about the issues with ssds... I think hard drives are more reliable
Definitely
I have several drives that have been around since before consumer ssds were a thing that're still working fine
Use case depending.. I use hdds to store and backup data, I wouldn't want one in my desktop or laptop.. but in my servers they're perfect
Yeah, but when you look them up everything says they're so much more reliable because no moving parts and in theory sure
I have hard drives that still work that are older than most of the people in this chat probably heh
That being said I've had plenty that were dead inside 2 years so... there's also that.
Seagate at one point a long long time ago had a bad issue with flakey drives, and I mean flakey literally since a coating on the platters was flaking off and killing drives.
And the ibm deathstars
Maybe it's just that I'm hearing about ssd issues now, and the drive issues were in the past. So far this year I've had to replace 4 ssds that have died or had issues. Samsung, wd, Toshiba, and a Kingston. I've only had one hdd die, and it was doa
My steamdeck skin came in.
i dont know a single person who bought anything but a shortlinus.com skin/case for their steamdeck
They are good products so thats why people get them
people hate them for their marketing
tbh its effective
they also have the greatest approaches to their fuckups more than any other company ive seen
ive been trying to ask people on more tech support related servers but everyones been ignoring me and this server is usually surprisingly more reliable than the other servers
would anyone be able to help me fix my switch pro controller just not being detected by windows at all. ive tried troubleshooting for a bit now and havent gotten it working. the cable works fine because if i plug it into my sayodevice it works instantly. just when i plug it into my pro controller it acts as if its not connected at all. no usb notif, no red light on the controller, nothing pops up in device manager.
because were afraid of gr*ss
also i dont think many people here own nintendo pro controllers
yeah thats true idk i just thought it was worth a shot
its a very niche issue by the looks of it everyone else seems to just plug it in and it lights up and works as soon as you plug it in
but my pc is just ignoring the fact that its been connected at all
i jus wanna play hollow night 😔
you should also probably reconsider your choices of buying that too
like huge waste of money
buying what
the pro controller
or hollow night
pro controller
yeah i got it ages ago when i used to actually play on my switch
i do and it also dosent work on pc lol
Yay. Its so colorful now
woah that looks so much better than i thought it would
I applied a full cover skin with the killswitch so if i want to take the case off, i have the full coverage
Its finicky to get the case on as to not mess up the skin
this is a sign i need a

Lol. Its going to be great when im on deployment
I’ve replaced the analog sticks with hall effect sticks, upgraded to 2tb internal ssd and a 1tb sd card
interesting... ive just plugged it into my laptop and it works fine i was just playing satisfactory on it lol
but on my desktop its acting like i havent plugged it in at all
nothing whatsoever
ive just updated chipset drivers in hopes that that would help but it hasnt
Yesterday i was listening to yt music in tab that wasn't "in front" and it stopped like 20 times in 10 minutes
it was quite random, except for one track stopping 3 seconds in

But congrats Gearbox, welcome to the club of the big pricks. Now you can count yourself among the amazing game developer companies everyone loves and cherrish, EA, Activision, Ubisioft and now Gearbox, you made it! And everyone who paid 80 bucks for garbage, you kinda deserve it. It's because of those people, borderlands 5 will be more expensive and even more crap. Because Gearbox just gets away with it.
Just now?
(looks at spyware EULA)
Ye no thanks, I shouldnt have to upgrade my pc every x years just to be able to play a game that IMO does not look much different than BL 3.
I absolutely love the Borderlands franchise, really scratches that itch for me in terms of gameplay.
But god damnit man, put the passion over profit
I can 100% understand that it will be harder to run than BL2 and Pre-Sequel.
I can also tolerate higher requirements than BL3 and Wonderlands.
But holy fuck, that's a lame ass response
I haven't seen any BL4 in-game footage and haven't seen benchmarks either.
But I heavily doubt I'm gonna see triple digit fps on high settings QHD
My response or?

I should take a year off work and focus on my game...
I technically I can. But Im not doing it.
I don't know. That comment of the CEO, it rubs me the wrong way.

Fucking idiots. We know more than him about PC's.
Did he really say code your own engine?
The last one, to point the finger, is a fucking CEO. They are so clueless.
I might one up him on that.
Feels very weird to say this, but the only major game dev I've heard good things about lately is actually EA
Yeah, just make a knock off borderlands @mental oriole

@Colecypher Code your own engine and show us how it’s done, please. We will be your customer when you pull it off. The people doing it now are clearly dumb and don’t know what they’re doing and all the support and recommendations and code and architecture from the world’s greatest hardware

Using some advanced profiling tools, it’s clear that most models are created as ultra-high-detail assets, with millions of vertices per model.
So BL4 did this too...
Ok, to start, I just wanted to investigate performance using a Steam Family copy of the game to see why even a 5090 series GPU seems to struggle. I did a bunch of research by experimenting with .ini settings and toggles. The Problem This game is extremely reliant on Nanite, Lumen, and practically all of the upscaling tech available in the UE5 re...
Risk of Rain laughing at them 😄
This is currently why Nanite is such a bottleneck: the sheer vertex count the engine has to process per frame is enormous,
So BL4 too went with just using those ultra-high detail graphical artist raw models direct in the game...
Haha, and he is a Elon fan 🤣 I fucking knew it.
Yeah, not touching Borderlands 4. They lost me with the Tiny Tina stuff.
Also, for the next 5-10 years, are we just going to accept all this "It's UE5 fault" bullshit?
Because if so, I am going for a winter sleep and wait for UE6.
There is only so much hot potato shuffling I can handle.
"guys, 240fps in 4k just isn't happening, get a grip" - reasonable
"fucking hell, we have you 60fps at FHD, even 90 if you use FSR performance. Be happy and shut up" - not reasonable
That describes Randy atm. It's our fault. Because we have shit PC systems.
And when the game is shown in basic profiling to have huge optimization issues, by using engine features wrong.
It's out fault we don't like to spend 80 dollars on a game that barely runs.
It's our fault the game barely runs. It's also our fault they can't develop a decent game. All our fault. Feels terrible.
Was that the boring flamethrower announcement?
Elon still had some positive image back then - over seven years ago
Elon made it popular to just tell whatever the fuck you want on social media. Just do whatever to fuck you want. And still hold your position as a CEO.
Now all these CEO's are doing it?
Why did they lose you there?
They took borderlands gameplay and combined it with DnD storytelling, it's unusual for the series but quite well executed
Dunno, I watched the trailer, I watched the gameplay. Not my cup. I am more into the old borderlands.
And forgot which it was, but at one point, the villains are just straight annoying (the streamer ones).
So probably the dnd aspect
Not like, villain annoying, like "please shut up" and skip cutscene annoying.
BL3
BL2 was peak storytelling
I wish we had BL2 story with BL3 gameplay
Anyway, have to go for a bit. back in a few hours.
Gl
Have fun doing whatever you're doing
Looked up BL4 QHD benchmarks.
Doubt I'll get 100 fps on my 7800xt, even with settings lowered to high and FSR
I can't even speak Czech, let alone do any dubbing
And the game is probably very CPU dependant from that Nanite stuff etc.
Which is probably large part of that complain, that the CEO doesn't understand when they only tested on top of the line CPUs with variable GPUs.
As a hunch.
Reminds me of the Arc shenanigans with low end AM4
The fact the chart goes down to 10fps says it all
because it process it per frame
laugh at them
this isn't even half backed then
Seems there is a cache, but the cache is overwritten in this case every frame as single frames worth of stuff doesn't fit into it.
So that Nanite cache is cache trashing each frame.
Looks like RT numbers ngl
Except for RDNA3 perf
That is at max settings.
Complaining that current computers cannot run on the max is just stupid.
But when the low end performance is crap because of doing stupid unoptimized stuff is real.
if I get 30fps at max settings with a reasonable GPU for QHD gaming, I doubt I'll get anywhere close to 100 without severely cutting down visuals
That "Badass" is the highest preset
I know it is
I personally would expect minimum HW give 30 or 60 FPS at full-HD at lowest preset., without upscaling etc.
And recommended to give 60 FPS at Full-HD or QHD with Medium or High equivalent preset, without upscaling etc.
But my expectations are so out of whack compared to both game companies and most gamers today.
The time of hasty console ports where even max settings didn't even tickle then current gen PCs drove the expectations completely out of whack.
For most people.
Minimum specs:
Lowest preset, 720p, 30fps
Recommended specs:
2nd highest preset, QHD, 90fps
Both without RT, upscaling, FrameGen and the likes
The days of 60 fps being the default refresh rate on a gaming setup's monitor are long gone
But I still see 60 FPS as the "minimum acceptable FPS".
Yup. Minimum acceptable.
Nothing I ever wanna see as "recommended" unless it's 4K
Any dev that makes a decently fast paced game and recommends 60fps for it can fuck themselves
And Borderlands is definitely fast paced
To me: "Minimum specs" is "Can run the game somewhat playably with shittiest settings".
And "Recommended" is "Can run the game actually playably with usable settings".
Where classically that Medium was the actual usable graphics, and going above was tiny bit of difference with large performance penalties.
And then for example High and Ultra above that "default" Medium.
Minimum: game runs in some way or form
Recommended: game looks nice and performs well
But the Xbox 360 / PS2/PS3 game port times led to the expectation among PC players that "Recommended" = everything maxed at high FPS.
Yeah, that's dumb
When today game devs have stopped making actual "Low" settings and presets in most games.
But I absolutely loved the 2020 time of devs including preset, resolution and fps in the recommendations
There should be visible differences between the preset levels, without having to zoom in etc.
"this is what you'll need for medium settings at FHD to run with 60fps"
When IMHO those should be that there is Extra Low for that minimum, with absolute crap graphics.
Then Low, then Medium which is the design target.
And then 2-3 higher presets where the second highest is supposed to run at best HW available at 60 FPS or so, and highest is for future, going for those tiny bits of visual improvements that can be gained with large amounts of extra processing power.
And that that Recommended spec targets that Medium preset at then current normal resolution etc.
If medium actually looks good, sure
Lowest
Lower
Default
Higher
Highest
ezpz, zero misunderstanding
Make game run good at default, make lower and lowest give noticable fps uplifts
That was why I said it to be the design target.
That during most of the dev, only that Extra Low and Medium should be cared about for most part, with the artist models and textures of course need to be made to accommodate the higher ones.
And then near end, the other presets added.
And IIRC was used long time in the past.
idk when it switched tho
I remember older titles where medium looked like shit and I had to choose between nice graphics or good fps
Or settings that are off-high-ultra
While also strongly improving fidelity
On the other hand, RT should be off by default and only included for higher and up
But make it smth like
disabled (default) - enabled - highest
BL4 only has software or hardware Lumen as options.
Adjust the wording for those kinds of shenanigans to tell you "yo, you don't need this to look good"
No prebaked lighting.
Yeesh
As a big fan of the Borderlands franchise, it hurts to see the latest release to be such a shitshow
I want my BL3 release criticism back when it was only "annoying antagonists, storytelling feels lazy" and not "go rent some supercomputer time if you wanna play this"
That Lumen only I do understand in a way.
As doing both RT and classic lighting would have made the work on that side double to quadruple to include the classic lighting.
And light software Lumen in the end isn't that expensive on performance anymore, even when it will look worse than prebaked classic lighting, but then scale with just scalability tweaks to the good visuals.
Without extra works beside selecting the scalability values.
the game doesnt actually tell you if it uses HW lumen tho
Any good power bank brands besides anker and ugreen? Trying to find a power bank to replace my anker powercore elite 3. I dont want anything thicker than that one.
Anker powerbanks just had massive recall for fire risks.
The following products may be affected:
- Anker Power Bank (20,000mAh, 22.5W, Built-In USB-C Cable) — Model A1647
- Anker MagGo Power Bank (10,000mAh, 7.5W) — Model A1652
- Anker Power Bank (10K, 22.5W) — Model A1257
- Anker Zolo Power Bank (20K, 30W, Built-In USB-C and Lightning Cable) — Model A1681
- Anker Zolo Power Bank (20K, 30W, Built-In USB-C Cable) — Model A1689
To be precise.
Its not that im afraid of a fire. Its just been well used and im trying to find one in a similar form factor to attach to the back of my steam deck.
I also use it for wireless vr and stick it in my pocket so i dont want it overly thick
It's more of a warning if you plan to buy a new powerbank for Anker. Make sure to check model.
The powercore elite 3 is 7.22"L x 3.24"W x
0.94"Th
I dont really like any of the new ones from anker. Not the form factor i want and if they are, not as much capacity as i want and doesn’t output the amount of power i want
theres no such thing as a power bank with enough capacity
