if the warranty fails, i think imma gonne get a 9070xt, those like 900 instead of the 1400 for a 5080..
55% less money for 84% the performance
yea, but that 9070xt is slower then the xtx xD
its still an overall better product than the XTX IMO
agreed
LIGHT YEARS better RT
a much MUCH better upscaler
+RIS 2 + a much better encoder + probably RR in the future
and its also supposed to be 400$ less
now the hardest part, if the warrenty fails, convincing the boss (wifey)
i looked into selling 7900xtx and getting 9070xt, they go for ยฃ650-700 second hand, you pay that for a 9070xt
faster in rt, slower without rt, so fsr4 is the only reason to do this
as good as it is I can't justify such a sidegrade
the world doesn't need more meaningless consumption
for a game such as satisfactory (which is where I spend most of my hours) I can use the faster non-rt to bump up the input resolution and get better quality that way
Encoder
Tho A310 is a thing too
av1 and h265 work just fine
AV1 works... as long as you dont have an IGPU or secondary GPU cause it will try and ofload and just die
outside of that indeed it has been working fine for me
#BlameNvidia
RIS 2 + less power consumption + probably RR in the future
RIS2 is pretty pointless when i can optiscaler a game and get real frame gen
I undervolt everything so the power consumption isn't much different
ray reconstruction? again, ray tracing not super important for me
that being said if you're getting a new card absolutely get a 9070XT; it's just not worth it for me
RIS 2 is a sharpening filter
-# who the fuck wants that
ehh you can just use RCAS with optiscaler
so fair enough
no point
i tried it a few times
but for some reason satisfactory's FSR 3.1 just looks SOOO MUUCCHHH better than all my options in optiscaler
i haven't seen a difference
xess is still wack
though optiscaler has nightly releases so maybe things have changed
with opti's FSR 3.1 i either get vaseline OR shimmering EVERYWHERE
xess somehow makes lumen noisier while making every stationary fine edge shimmer
xess is special indeed
even fsr doesn't do that
I like Xess for certain games.
But that's my preference. It solved some ghosting issues I had.
Better would be no upscaling.
to me it feels like the devs fixed the ghosty particle issue with FSR after in the ficsmas update
like i remember that there was a ton of snow on screen for me once and i couldnt see ghosting
its also WAY TOO blurry for me
and it has a pretty hefty frame time cost
fsr2 is almost free, xess has a whole neural network to spin up
you can use that difference to just increase internal res
it usually isnt that significant
50% res scale
TAA 81 [refrence]
TSR 76
FSR 77
XeSS 71
AA performance (100% res scale)
No AA : 60 avg
FXAA : 60 avg
TAA : 58 avg
TSR : 49 avg
FSR : 54 avg
XeSS : 52 avg
then fsr4 comes in with a steel chair and proves you can make good AI TAA without jensen's blessing
oh, fun fact
TSR is even heavier if you are just using AA
even though it has NO AI
how embarrassing

and looks the worst IMO
TBF even "native" TAA does that
yeah it's the TAA conundrum
you have jittered samples from X previous frames; make sense of it
xess makes no sense of it
though lumen noise shouldnt be an issue if you use some of this
its kinda just lumens own denoiser
I've tried lumen config changes before and they tend to make it take minutes for lights to propagate
but somehow FSR 3.1 makes it go away
the ones above ?
i can't recall but I'll give those a go later
my PC can handle the neural network so ๐คทโโ๏ธ
honestly its not even that its bad it just suffers so much from noise
its like playing through a freaking iphone camera
you also get the paint dry-ing effect with it ?
i was begining to think that i was alone
paint drying effect???

are we just making shit up now
im not
that it makes everything shinny?
thats just the most apt description i could make of it
your not cause i still use it whenever DLSS isent an option lol
if it wasnt so blurry and noisy i would use it over FSR
solution add a real itme denoiser to your GPU
"RTX 6090 the ultimate denoising machine"
left : stationary right : moving
also : why does FSR look like its using 1 LOD higher for those belts ?
"Energy Labelling requirements will apply to smartphones and tablets put on the EU market from 20 June 2025 onwards."
no one is going to care ๐คทโโ๏ธ
oh, they will
Hyper-V Server (Windows Server Core) is a terrible operating system
I still feel a bit uneasy with this feature.
actual screenshots of the active area of your screen, minus the taskbar, and a searchable database of text that it scrapes from those screenshots using OCR.
that's why I swapped from windows.
All of this OCR'd text is fully searchable and can be copied directly from Recall to be pasted somewhere else.
The end of the article sums it up nicely.
And if you read the part about what is needed to enable it at all?
Or keep it operating?
I read it, that's why I said I feel "a bit" uneasy.
And not straight said; "garbage feature" ๐
I did read, but still not trusting evil bill corpo.
Unfortunately, those people probably have it right. I can see no signs that Recall data is as easily accessed or compromised as before or that Microsoft is sending any Recall data from my PC to anywhere else. But
But today's Microsoft has earned itself distrust-by-default from many users, thanks not just to the sloppy Recall rollout but also to the endless ads and aggressive cross-promotion of its own products that dominate modern Windows versions. That's the kind of problem you can't patch your way out of.
That, I agree with that statement.
I hope the bill part is a joke (I really wonder in what capacity Bill is still involved with Microsoft), but with the rest I agree ๐
It's a joke from a man page of a specific software.
Ah, sorry went over my head then. I just know a lot of people hate Bill, and I don't fully understand why.
I've read some arguments, but they sounded like a conspiracy theory.
It also refers to ยตSoft.
How is gaming going on Linux Diluted?
No issues so far. I resolved the stuttering that started to happen after a period of playing the game.
Even played some baldurs gate 3, no performance issues
It was launch arguments to proton.
This command fixes it when added to the game launch args.
LD_PRELOAD="" gamemoderun %command%
And so far, every game I've played just works.
And what was the command?
Or was the LD_PRELOAD="" missing from arguments?
I read it's used for linking libraries.
The LD_PRELOAD trick is a useful technique to influence the linkage of shared libraries and the resolution of symbols (functions) at runtime.
Just wondering how that can fix stutering games on Linux ๐
possible gamemode run does something as well idk really
I just slap that onto the launch args settings if the game has an issue after some time playing.
And I put it in a text file so I don't have to remember it.
Interesting,.
aah
gamemoderun sets the "scheduler" to performance and affinity of the game to priority
Proton should do that by default, imo ๐คฃ
I think the LD_PRELOAD="" is the main fixer though.
mhh.
Is it a common problem for Linux gaming? Did you find a lot of topics about it?
It was easy to find when searching.
https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/1h8qwx0/steam_proton_games_stuttering_after_30_minutes_of/
Reason I ask is, I would consider to investigate further for root cause if it's not common.
If it's common, I would ignore it because probably someone figured out what is really happening and the arguments are the only fixes ๐
People claim it's a steam bug, but I think it's more related to drivers or something.
Probably the bug that was introduced with the screen recording thing.
There's a literal "lag timebomb" when pulling the latest git versions of DXVK and VKD3D and compiling them. These lag timebombs are unified, meaning that they happen in both DXVK git ...
This should be the explenation of the issue.
Yep, sounds like the issue I was experiencing..
The issue is closed yet not fixed...
If I understand correctly, steam also sets a LD_PRELOADs. Which seems to cause issues related to recording feature from steam. My guess is, that when you set it, it just overrules whatever steam is setting it to.
Or rather I have issues still.
Yes, correct because they said:
I'm closing this specific issue because it's caused by Steam's LD_PRELOADs, thanks everybody who helped me find the culprit.
I will probably open an issue at https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues tomorrow, but you can feel free to do so as well.
aah I didnt read everything, just noticed. ๐
And the shit rolls down the hill ๐คฃ
Pretty much.
this is an issue on windows too just it takes like an entire week of a game running to be really bad
There is hope now that Valve is close with Linux.

So maybe they will look into it quicker than we think.
Or maybe never.
It's Valve, a small startup company, they won't have time in the near future.
I am still not 100% if what Valve/Steam is doing lately is bait and switch or leggit.
*/s
Well, their steamdecks run on Linux no? ๐
So, not proton?
The os, it's gonna run proton either way.
I ask because if the problem is between proton - steam, you have a higher chance then.
I'm not sure though.
Because else users will notice it on steamdeck too.
True. It's a proton - steam issue.
I am still happy Valve is doing this. I just hope they push through with it.
I have a workaround and while it's a bit tedious to apply to every game, at least it works ๐
And not abandon with the first setback or something.
Or because "we have to reduce costs".
I wouldn't mind.
Compared to a few years ago, gaming on linux was just painful.
Now it's smooth compared to then.
Herg was also happy with how it runs. And kade.
A lot of people in here actually report Linux is getting solid for gaming.
I can add to that list ๐
I always said it; only reason I got windows is for gaming.
As a kid, I got used to macOS and liked it more than windows.
But gaming on a Macbook (Pro) is (was) hell.
I can feel the pain
Because non of the games I wanted to play ran on it. So I played Dota 2 for years.
I always find it funny "runs perfectly after some tweaks" ๐

Platinum is no tweaks needed.
Haha, the same fixes more or less than you applied.
pretty much
or setting LD_PRELOAD and gamemoderun %command%.
But that gamemoderun %command% seems to be a default one?
That's another thing that is cool, yes, you can run into issues. But you have proton.db where you can just look up the game and read comments/fixes that other gamers applied.
Windows Server Core is an OS. Hyper-V server is an even more stripped down version of that which is supposed to only run Hyper-V
until you discover azurlane vps run on Linux servers
i love it when steam tries to cover my entire screen with pointless shit
its almost as if there trying to see how much they can get away with
At some point I'm going to dual boot this system and see where gaming is at on linux compared to trying it quite some time back
I'd prefer to spend my time in linux, I'm more comfortable with it personally .
I'd like to get to a point where I can basically only ever boot into Windows when I actually need Windows, which I almost certainly will for some of the software I need.
Some stuff I can actually side step I think by just loading the VST in Reaper...
boom
Archtype Gojira is a beastly amp/cab set...
Ok so... ToneX and Amplitube are both available as a VST so if gaming goes well I'll spend little time in Windows.
wow more nvidia driver issues... what the hell are they doing over there
seeing just how much they can get away with before it impacts their sales
lol
i mean, at least i didn't have to pay for mine ๐คฃ
and yes i feel like a dirty rotten cheater for it
but also i've told people here that i'd never get an nvidia card again unless i was handed it, so i still consider myself clean
I mean if somebody was going to just hand me one I'd use it, assuming was better than what I have.
AMD > Intel
For the moment
Battles have been won and fought through the years, but the war has never been won ๐
But I'm currently not an Intel or Nvidia fan at all heh
Uncheck this in Steam Settings :)
Ignoring crappy titles is very important.
437 for the entire USA
Well, at least that is more than 2.
i like how the mini tech hub that is Missoula MT got a whopping 2 for the entire state
this thing is beyond vaporware
at this point it would be cheaper and easier to just travel straight to the factory ๐
Micron probably bought both of the ones that went to boise ๐คฃ
(with FSR 4 P)
You know I'm not gonna lie but I'm so tempted to spend entirely too much money on one of these newer lightsaber... well I'm not even going to really call it a toy at this point though technically it is.
There is something about them that brings out the kid in me, being a lifelong FAN from the start.
Then the adult takes over again and reminds me it's something I'll probably play with an average of 2 minutes a year heh... stupid adult brain!
and then your just like "but its cool so it was worth it"
Yes but that's the moron part trying to rationlize it....
..I try to keep the moron portion off in it's corner minding it's own business. Sometimes... it doesn't work
๐
Nek minnit... I own a 1200 dollar replica lightsaber
im still kinda tempted to get one even if i would need to probably do a completely new build to do so
thing is i want to pair it to the 10700F in the alienware issue is motherboards probably a miss/PSU is on the verge of exploding/ the 1660 wouldn't be an issue anymore and i could save on a CPU ram and storage
since i still use it for stuff that needs to run 24/7, or when im not there, or game streaming sometimes and so on
thing is the fans are so loud at idle and they keep getting worst
also im one more instability crash away from getting back off intel defaults cause its just not stable
hey speaking of which intel just added more shit to the core ultra 9 285k
200S Boost
more fucking overclocking
i need a drink
wait what?
whats wrong with extra boost
or am i reading this wrong and its actually esentially temporary XMP
it's more clock speed and more voltage
but the last time they tried that we had a million dead 14900Ks
and thats bad because....?
fair enough ig
and also the fact that the max stable is still less than 4000MT/S
i don't even trust that arrow lake won't kill itself at stock settings let alone overclocked like this
too bad there is no one that can test it ๐
no, absolutely incorrect
best graphics are only provided by words
did hear about books? I heard they came to be before computers
some legends say they describe the worlds like nothing we ever seen
no didigtal tech can compare to that
If I'd gone intel I would have avoided the 14 series cpus as if they carried the black plague heh
I was shopping not total budget but trying to save money so I'd have been more interested in a previous gen anyhow really
With Nvidia even all these driver and other current woes aside the fact that the people who kept that coming going, t he PC enthusiests, are now treated like 2nd class citizens... or at least that's how it feels to me
like guys you wouldn't even exist right now to do all this high dollar AI bullshit if not for the enthusiest before all that
Not surprising, just disgusting ๐
not surprising since thats all we were ever for... a small town on the road to the big city
EA and Activision used to be good companies...
In fact the entire company was started to escaoe the evil Atari corporation, which gave zero credit or incentive to the devlopers.
You got paid the same whether it sold 100 copies or a trillion
And zero credit, not on the box... not on the manual... nada. That easter egg in Adventure would have made an Atari exec lose their mind if they found out in advance
"You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain" definitely applies heh
oh for sure
Atari trying to sub-license D&D IP in asia like they wouldn't be blatantly caught by wotc was fucking wild
lol
I'm a red box era guy ๐
if you know... you know
Somewhere around here I have some old books that are probably worth a few bucks, not a ton.
Pretty sure my DM's guide fetches like 60 bucks or so I think, been so long since I looked on ebay
But these are books from... the 80's lol
Have t he monster manuals, players guide. Think I still have my red box somewhere.
one of my friends has all of the 3/3.5e books. takes up 2 full bookshelves
whenever he moves, one whole trip is just his D&D stuff
Well like even the earlier stuff I have t here were a lot of books that were great but not required ya know
not quite THAT many but there were a lot of extras, I have most of them lol
super shitty that wotc hunts down & destroys old editions of books in order to sell the new stuff
I started playing in I guess about 1984ish.. we were living in Panama City Panama at the time so I'd have been about 12ish. Some kids at school introduced me to it.
the real question
To me it was one of the coolest things ever
did you use feet or meters
feet of course
๐คฃ
because moronic american meesuremeents
Ah yes I see that weighs about six stone...
might as well just use that... tbh lol
As an American I am... not proud of our measurements :/
i'm still annoyed that we are on the metric system, but we've chosen to just convert stuff to imperial for no reason
Ok I think I can finally stick in this spot long enough to get in some gaming
<@&387163995947270144> bring the pain
oh lordy... Oblivion Remast ered is saying requires 119.22GB
The insane size of games is what makes me want to get a second 4TB drive
Clearly a trick being played by big storage...
-shakes boomer fist in frustration-
Maybe we soon need to go back to those hot-swap harddrives, so we can load our 8TB SSD drive to boot up GTA 6..
And before we know of it..
It will say insert drive 1 of 165 to install this game :D
The end of the floppy era was getting a little ridiculous in some instances heh
i do wonder what the first 1TB game will be
call of duty
I'm just glad I have fast internet so I don't have to wait two eternities at the current sizes lol
i've never played a single CoD ๐คฃ
When I think about 300 baud modems now im like y eah that's lkike not even background noise now
my guilty youtube pleasure is watching dumbass CoD content with all the shit talking and funny moments
I used to play that came a lot... from COD 4 through BO2
I was a monster in BO1, that was my peak lol
other games really need to include corpse launches like those
I had to stop playing with the clan I was in because playing pubs in that group was boring because I was damn good and there were plenty of guys better
we'd get bored and all start using pistols lol
or choose a building and just hold it down heh
in there creating new custom minigames for ourselves
I've stopped playing COD 10 years ago because it became repetitive and boring
same after that run from cod 4 to bo2 i was done
and i never played bo2 as much as 1
yea looking at it over the years reminds me of the football games every damn year
then all the leaping wall climbing nonsense I'm like uhhh if this is what I wanted isn't this what halo does?
so like couldn't i just...pla y that
not really sure i actually never was big on halo tbh
i do like seeing the meme executions
at least that gives them a bit of creativity
also i'm older so i know my reactions aren't fast enough to play a game like that and not just get trolled
plus i'm not really a shooter type of gamer
way too much pressure
I think I could still be good at a game like BO 1 or whatever if I played it consistently
problem is I wouldn't play it consistently at this point
if i was getting paid to play it with no pressure on ranking, then sure ๐คฃ i'd give it a go
I got the same with WoT, I'm at least 30% worse now from not playing in so long heh
and that's based on actual numbers lol
Games like that are def less twitchy lol
i'm the kind of person that'll forget keymapping for a game after like a month
One thing I could never do well was build in fortnite
which meant I was basically going to gets destroyed... a lot lol
oh i had 0 interest in fortnite thankfully ๐คฃ
I got scafolding ninja after me and I'm like how the....
i think im doing ok... then realize he has the high ground by like 2+ floors lol
don't try it anakin!
And the thing is I actyually liked Save the World when I played it... you know the single player bit that wa supposed to be super awesome but they just kinda swept to the side really :/
i don't like direct competitive games where someone will get good because they're not playing anything, then shits on casuals for not being as good
yea i like PvE more than anything else
I thought save the world was a neat concept, some cool ways to set up traps and all the other gadgets nad stuff on the defense stages
it needed work but it was a good idea
yea i remember hearing about the original develoment, & it sounded like a unique idea
then........yea
So yes... I actually spent money... on Fornite lol
๐คฃ
There HAVE been some updates but realistically they haven't put anmything into it compared to all the other stuff
or... maybe they have since i played... not holding my breathe heh
their profit margin has to be on par with pharmaceutical companies
well the proved you can monetize the hell out of game with just cosmetics
yup
and if you're into the game the battle pass wasn't t errible
a friend of mine got that for awhile when he was into it
just not really my cup of tea overall
i tend to say it's cheaper than drinking ๐คฃ
well that's the thing it's a hobby and there's nothing wrong with spending money on a hobby you enjoy
tons of people do it with ALL sorts of things... and many spend way more than the average gamer
definitely whales out there, but i'm not about to be one of them
And if some whale wants to spend a fortune in real money on a virtual spaceship, whatever makes ya happy lol
yea i've never played EVE
been tempted to tho
a bit too PvP for me
if it wasn't forced pvp, i wouldn't mind
i used to be more into it when i was younger
in the MUD era most players considerred me pretty brutal lol
I was a big ole mean bully heh. I told one guy to give me all the items he was wearing that I wanted or I'd have them ALL.
i like the themes, just not the sub & the forced pvp
And I did ended... end up having them all heh
it was impossible to hide from me in MajorMUD heh
WEll forced pvp is... yeah
The MUD I played most had an interesting system with alignments and such
if you were too evil eventually you'd hit FIEND
and the game would send bounty hunters out for you randomly heh
they'd just pop up and if they showed up at a bad time... nite nite
So basdically be as avil as you want... with consequences
yea i couldn't do that ๐คฃ i like helping people too much
guards in towns were rough too
funny thing is the "safe rooms" you could dash into... or sneak if you were a sneaker
and they wouldn't attack you in the bank or certain other spots lol
oh look a brutal murdered withdrawing coin! guess we'll let it slide...
it'd be fun if some games would occasionally have events where they changed up how NPCs & combat stuff worked in the game
SF's april fools is great for the cosmetic changes
turning on friendly fire (so long as you don't lose your stuff or progress) would be a funny event for games

AMD reportedly shares RX 9060XT/9070GRE plans with AIBs AMD is moving forward with the release of the Radeon RX 9060 XT, according to Chinese sources. Board Channels, a forum associated with various board partners, has shared an update on the Radeon RX 9060 XT. This mid-range GPU, based on the Navi 44 processor, has been [โฆ]
Settings needed more VRAM than available, and autodowngraded that specific texture.
Which always fucks that specific texture up, as it basically isn't loaded.
That modern game needs more than 8GB of VRAM for the highest quality textures isn't anything weird.
insufficient ram and vram always creates some of the most interesting failures
like on my laptop il just noclip through items in some games because the hitbox couldent fit in ram

fair enough
but i still see any 8GB GPU that comes out this year as a scam
Testing the limits of 3D makerpro Lynx scanner. My female friend wanted see how it could scan a rose.. yeah it did pick up some features but this scanner really meant for larger objects and detail
For some reason it did not pick up the stem at all, even when used white scan spray on it
Probably too small
It probably works with reflections no?
If it didnโt reflect enough it probably got ignored
Yes this scanner is meant for slitghly larger objects
Complete human would about the perfect scan size
This tech is evolving fast. About 1000โฌ can buy the cheapest blue laser Creality raptor scanner which would most likely do better job on the rose
Cool so you could do something like... a guitar?
So are the scans ultimately used for?
fabrication? just cool?
Fabrication, anytime need to desing something on existing stuff that are not just simple 2D drawing/hole pattern
Today scanned a front end of an ATV. Farmer wants to attach a seeder for grass on other small seeds on it
Just some white scan spray on glossy black parts and it worked well
That's something i've never been that good at, fabricating things.
I can do enough to get by in some spots though
Some of what I do requires a little bit of it... like direct soldered circuits
all the wires and components ultimately support themselves, no board... but you do have to disgn it and get wires bent at the right spot and at the right andle
very time consuming for sure
Oh and it seems silly to a lot of folks but the only real purpose of doing it that way is it looks cool lol
The scan data from the ATV is on laptop now but can share it later. For this project I will use it as bolt hole reference from the removed bumber mount points, then desing new sheet metal "bumber" that fits those holes in CAD, send the drawings to factory who CNC cut and bends the parts to my drawings. And then the farmer himself assebles and welds it from those parts. I could do some welding myself but this is better to do on the spot.
that's a connection I miss having sometimes... i used to have a guy for CNC stuff lol
well.. in that case gal
some of those machines are nuts
design is hard
And in my case I am sometimes designing a circuit in 3 dimensions, not 2
i need elevation changes sometimes to cross over or under other things...
I gave my neighbor (a career musician) a fuzz pedal built that way and told him to open it sometime. Next day he calls me like "what the..."
im just like heh
Like I said I no point other than looks cool, I could do the same thing on a printed board or even a project board in 1/3 the time.
And if ever become famous for effect design... that 1/1 pedal will be worth a fortune! (shhh let me hav emy dreams man)
real talk though retail value or something like that is north of 300...
if i could design anything more than just a delusion in my head my laptop wouldent be a overheating pile of problems rn
hand built boutique type shit
and boardless...
If people only knew how little it actually costs to make that 300 dollar pedal heh
My projects usually also unique, special needs for construction, mining, farming and forestry equipment that dont exist. Similar product might exist, but the customer wants to pay desing cost for a feature they want.
if i knew how to solder i would probably just find a way to mount two 120MM desktop fans to the bottom and hotwire them through one of the like 5 USB C ports i dont need
just pulled the trigger on a new bit of kit
gonna make lif e a lot easier for me... should have done this sooner
little protoyping board, snaps right onto a breadboards power rails or can be used standalone to test a board before you mount it in an enclosure
quick connects for the in/out... does analog or digital ground, buffered/unbuffered 4.5v reference, +/- 9v, +18v, +5v and +3.3, and I only really will likely ever use 9 and from time to time 18v
I've been over here building charge pumps to get 18vdc :/
that just has one... baked in ready to go at all times
Also @pure karma soldering is mind numbingly easy tbh, just need a decent iron
a junk iron will make lif e way harder than it should be heh
if you had a decent iron and wentthrough one of t hose practice kits mounting some stuff and doing some solder joints you'd be fine
you'd even be able to do the larger surface mounted stuff
again not nearly as hard as it might look heh
i have 20 feet of copper wire if you want some
i have pliers my hands and enough 100 degree heaters to go around as my suplies
eh depending on the size i might actually use something like that... for a boardless lol
so soldering is fairly out of the question
I still have my first soldering iron that I ever owned.
just the most basic of basic 15 watters
and if my good station has an issue, bad plug, switch...display... it'll get used to fix it lol
im on a quest to get this locked cant even clock right turd to run right but at like 40C cooler but its not going great
if i run it in quiet mode (lowered voltage) the P-cores dont run
so its got the efficiency but it dosent want to goooo
if i run it in performance it still dosent clock any higher than like 2500MHZ but at 100C so its out of the window
entertainment is ok but it still runs too hot but i have manged to get a Peak of 4500MHZ on entertainement mode once (Ofc at 100C)
shamefull really for a cpu thats meant to clock 4900MHZ
barely being able to hover around 800MHZ-1250MHZ
wonder if we'll see any more crazy legendary type chips
like the 68000....
People now look at it and might think old pile of junk but that CPU was... well amazing at the time
trying to OC a locked CPU is defedently out of my experience range but iv found a good amount of workarounds so far
home computing took a BIG leap forward when those became viable for that market
just none of them are full performance at a lowered voltage yet
I've never been big on OCing
But I remember being messing with locked stuff ages ago... you had to just play with the mutiplier as i recall
and voltages... even unlocked stuff I only played with that stuff a very little bit
Well my last CPU there wasn't enough meat on the bone to be worth the effort, a 3700x
with memory I feel like it's just kinda... standard lol
first thing I do is load a profile to increase the speed so...
locked = no control over anything at all
back then you could still change the multiplier
no multiplier,voltage,clocks,power nothing
i remember that specifically, and i also remember a side effect of that is that was OCing everything
so like all of it had to be able to handle that
it runs how it runs and you cant say nothing about it
not just the cpu.. so needless to say it usually didn't work well
there was one AMD cpu you could supposedly alter a trace on or some shit to unlock it
i dont understand why this thing hogs SO MUCH VOLTAGE
i wasn't about to try that one this was before there was NEARLY as much access to information
Intel.
its hitting 90C doing Single core cinebench because its hoging 1.27V
Yeah intel... what happened to you guys heh
it needs 0.75V to run
That would be bad reading if it is only 1.27V
thats almost double
At very low frequency.
Is that the desktop or laptop CP
Ah, explains why it is so low.
94c... just hold it right there
lemme just... fry these eggs real quicklike
That's worse than my Pentium D...
The D stands for Doint touch veryhot
But that is the Intel laptop performance chips.
Low "TDP" but turbo up to 150W or so.
still wanna know who thought it was a great idea to take a nororiously hot CPU core and slap two of them on a subsrate next to each other heh
yeaaaa right
cant even run at 30W yet alone 100W+
So 115W set by laptop manufacturer, and 45W TDP.
115W as the short term turbo max power.
So on defaults can use that for little under minute if on default PL2 Tau.
with what kind of dreamland cooling universe would it even PL2 yet alone hold it
looks like it hit it at some point...
i dunno im glad i dodget that whole... side of things
im not a fanboy of either team but like right now AMD is it as far as I'm concerned
managed to hit 90W but throttled down to about 30% util on Cinebench r23
nvidia is pissing me off, intel is pissing me off heh
if amd goes wonky imma lose it man!
but yea the actual PL1 is 15W and the actual PL2 is 30W because thats all it can do performance mode is so hot it dosent run
thats actually why it was having ram problems
i found out that it was in fact just making a fireball of heat over the ram and corupting it
since all the heat just stores in the middle with nothing cooling it down and barely any of it gets exhausted out
and you get 70C+ motherboard temps and everythign else at TJMAX
Why did you then buy that specific laptop?
Didn't check reviews for the chassis to see if the cooling was good or not?
Because lot of laptops have that kind of uselessly bad cooling.
But not all do.
werent any big reviews for this skew only the higher performance like 4070 variant
And that doesn't matter?
It is about the chassis, not exact model.
same chassis diffrent cooling
And if the lower SKU had less fans, that should straight up have been no-go.
it has no vapor champer and no direct active cooling only inderect active cooling
I feel like such a sucker right now...and I am
Arbys has potato cakes back again for a bit... and I love their potato cakes.... and the limited time stuff is a bunch of marketing bullshit :/
sucker
every once in a while i get a hankering for arby's mozzarella sticks
I don't eat fast food often at all
But I gotta get them potato cakes
And there is this place I'd passed many times sinced it opened called "Good Donuts". Finally decided to try it. Walk in and it's a very basic donut shop and some older asian guys comes out and im like that was unexpected, i get a h alf dozen...
Had to go back the next day and complain, as i buy a dozen, that the name was wrong. They aren't goood donuts they're GREAT donuts.
bro that dude is like a donut magician
...has breakfast sandwiches in the morning that are great too
He and his son run the place, super nice folks those guys
What laptop is it?
G5 MF5 but its since been updated i think it has a 4060 now
Me either, but I think I'm making an exception and getting panda express tonight
im still waiting to see who is gonna be to first to finally comit to gaming at 32K
im really digging this oblivion remaster
nice graphics but it still hits me right in the nostaligic feels
i've never played an ES game ๐คฃ
been enjoying the social media stuff around this rerelease tho
i did grab oblivion & skyrim last time they were on sale for dirt cheap
ES 4 is a game that still holds up but the graphics were so dated at this point
then again im a guy that sometimes goes back to games like Ultima III, IV, V... Might and Magic 1/2
i played might and magic 2 so much my characters only had one threat in the game... devils
normally i could just ressurrect a killed guy buy if they choose to erradicate that was like getting thanos snapped lol
max lvl was 200 and i hit it via finding a fountain in the game by pure chance that would turn gold into experience so i was able to buy my way from the 70's to 200 heh
...but a devil could still thanos snap a guy heh
yea my mmo is gonna be 20 next year, & it shows ๐คฃ needs a solid gut job all around
their "big job" for this year is converting the servers to 64 bit
& it's not going well
oh so many players have said that they'd fund the game forever if they introduced jiggle physics
Delivered by truck to front door ๐
Smol boi
A cooling card just for a video card. What a great idea.
Two GPUs in there, the new one isn't in use yet.
Just comparison between two cards.
Up and running. No problems with PCIE 5.0 riser
Cable management and longer tubing/copper piping to move the radiator next room is later project
Winter time it can stay there. Free heat in the room
Swapping with quick connectors. Need to still think how to run the fans in the remote radiator location.. Now they are just connected to Aquaconputer Quadro inside the case
i dont understand dlss
i really dont
when paired with framegen you get more performance setting dlss at 100% (So doign nothing) than you do anythign else because it gives more pixels to framegen to make more frames
so then whats the point
and its not little too
at 60% i was getting 17fps and now at 100% im getting 28fps
the math is not mathing
it's possible the frame gen is getting overloaded and choking
NOVIDEO drvier moment
I've seen many such cases of DLSS frame gen only improving frame rate by like 30%
at these framerates in 1080P i could see that but still assbackwards that it just flips the script around completely
interestingly tho if you go all the way down to 50% (the minimum obviously) it goes back up again and its landing me at around 24FPS ish average
it's wack
so 50% is a ok icrease, 51-90% is a huge performance decrease and 90%+ is the biggest performance increase

yeah, something aint working as intended for you
i wonder if fsr and xess do the same
or if its just dlss
let me see
im only gona do 50 and 100 tho cause im lazy
FSR at 50% is giving about 26FPS
FSR at 100% Is giving about 30FPS
right XESS has no frame gen so its just dead
wait, is FG giving you 26fps ?
im confused lol
well total fps i could have probably phrased that better
total fps ???!!!
WTF
So FSR at 50% + Frame gen = 26FPS average ish
anyway, how many structures do you have lool
well to be fair my satisfactory world is probably more intensive
i know i was just joking / trolling
but yea all looking about at this exact same poitn there all hovering from like 22-32 ish
but thats standing still and they still all look like trash
start moving and FSR turns into a 5fps slideshow and DLSS is playable but insanely inconsistent
but i dont have the cpu headroom to record so i cant even show you
๐
cpu headroom to record?..
heard spmething about gpu encoding?
i use to stream it but the thing is i expected this turd to be able to use its P-cores without melting down
that way i wouldent have to trash my fans by idleing for like 10 hours a day doing nothing
i tried its still terible
i tried to show the elevators to one of the people i have been playing with recently and i literally couldent because my laptop couldent record for shit๐
let me find the recording
i found it
Enjoy the eyesore that is my experience on this game
i just applied chmod -R...
to my servers directory that holds everything on my website including my api...
im currently changing the permissions of tons of node modules files..........
lowkey the soothing elevator music with the laggy video makes me wanna die
๐ซ
i cant belive you can play like this
and thats under ideal conditions
thats with my 3000 something freight car train unloaded and unrendered
when the moons of saturn align just right
why does bro even have a 3000 something freight car train
as much as id liek to say i primarely play SF on my desktop yea indeed over half of my playtime has been on this slideshow of chaos
since i mostly play it during lunch

i cant even explain to you how SMOOTH that 25FPS feels after playing this all day
because atleast on my desktop its a smooth and CONSISTENT 25FPS with NO frame gen
the worst part about cpu bottlenecking is changing the graphics does nothing
your framerate just sucks and theres nothing you can do to improve it
thats why i actually setup linux on this thing originally
to see if i coudl get better performance
the answer was no i got a 50% performance reduction and somehow like 3 SECONDS of input delay
unrelated question... how much of a fire hazard would these be
Fan headers commonly run 12V and USB commonly runs 5V, tho it can go higher.
I doubt that a fan connected to this will actually spin
it'd spin, it just probably won't push nearly as much as as you want
*air
your PWM fans aren't typically getting 12v
unless they're spinning at 100%...
well i guess wtih a pulse it is... but also isn't
Either way yeah 5v will spin most 12v fans but not in a way that's really productive lol
In fact you might have had a mobo with a device that intentionally gimps the 12v... those fan adapters for "slow fan mode", it's just adding a resister to lower the voltage lol
PWM ones are getting 12V.
And modulate on the fan.
DC fans get variable voltage from MB fan control.
Yes
but it's not REALLY 12v... go look at how pwm works then get back to me
it is literally meant to pulse it so you aren't actually getting 12v at the other end
that's the entire point... of the pulse
That was the point.
The power is static 12V.
And the FAN cuts it on and off based on separate PWM signal.
it's going from 0 to 12v rapidly the end result isn't 12v my man
unless you want to break physics heh
Which is how the PWM fans can work at so much lower duty cycles than DC fans.
vary ing max voltage and pwm are two means to the same end, sometimes one is better sometimes the other
Because 12V power, fed in at 50% duty gives much more torque than 6V contant.
with DC fans pwm tends to be better
yep
but the 5v will still spin a 12v fan
as i said...
Some don't start at all.
Almost all will run once started.
i could go plug one into 5v right now and it will spin
But the airflow is minimal.
which is why you don't bother heh
But yeah the torque comes from the fact that is is seeing 12v
*it
The equivalent voltage isn't 12V. But the voltage being applied absolutely is 12V.
25% duty might have more torque than just a voltage cut
If you make a 5V fan and put it on a PWM header set to 40%, it will break
Because you're not actually applying 5V, you're applying 12V
Most PWM fans can run at around 5% PWM signal, or even less.
If there isn't active circuit on the fan to do active fan stop below some specific PWM signal.
that adapter doesn't make much sense to me
SHRUG
seems like there would be another route with a fan controller of some fashion
I mean, there are USB-C power supplies that go above 5V
9V is super common for mobile fast charging
After active negotiation.
Ehhh, can probably be circumvented
that and... are you going to plug that adapter into a power supply
then to a fan, mounted to the motherboard
starting to sound like frankencomputer now
You don't use that adapter to run the fan as a PC fan, lol
You use it for a desk fan that you hook up to a phone charger
usb spec requires max of 5v without negotiation
There are dummies that will negotiate for higher and let you break it out
But you do need an ic to do the handshake and request >5v
But those basically contain USB-PC device chips to do that handshake.
usbc mandates a handshake chip
usb-c
cause that could go anywhere
Older usb standards used a resistor across the data lines on the power supply side to tell the client device how much it was allowed to pull
The problem was, a higher power charging port was indicated by a short across the data lines, and some really cheap cables would just short those at the connector regardless of what you plugged it into to save two connectors
So you could end up with clients trying to charge at way higher power than the standard allowed
usb is a fun standard that isn't a fire hazard at all
yea thats why i was wondering if its a fire hazard and if it isent how well would it work
there only like 8 bucks so wouldent hurt just getting one and finding out
charge pump ๐
mouser probably has a buck converter that goes from 3-6ish volts to 12v for a few bucks heh
whether you could find one with USB connectors on it who knows... but if I'm doing all this I'll just solder the fan to the converter if needed to...
normally i'd at least install connectors but i can't seem to locate the box containing mine ๐
Now I want to go see how high I can go on one of those fans before it gives up it's magic smoke...
Somebody did that with one of those animated tickle me elmo dolls and it started getting pretty wild
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/bfOqDfbiPF8 him screaming at the end is too much
Clean and repaste for the trusty 4090. Contact seem to been good as expected from temps. And not too much copper oxide dirt from 2 years in the loop and now one week from another loop with used radiators.
Too low voltage is rarely a fire hazard, too high is
of course the only good looking mini tower is by deepcool so you cant get it because they got nuked to oblivion
Jason Citron (co ceo from Discord) quit. Mhm.
Humam Sakhnini (blizzard and activision) takes over. Oh no.
i found one for $65 from a store i have nerver heard of but there literally the only store with stock of them
legs of my 32" monitor began making clicking noise recently
it's noticeable w/o headphones
and rather consistent at it's rythm
to provoke it it's enough to just put hand on a table it stands on
any idea how to fix it? should I be worried about it's integrity?
What are your guys's thoughts on this build?
NVMe's would be RAID 5 for both OS and Vdisks
Comparable Dell option is well over 2x the price, HP I'm sure is similar. Interestingly Supermicro's closest offering WITH 3 year warranty/support added on is only about $400 more
oof first built for future hardware game im playing in a while and its hurting
its a remaster of a game i played originally in 2014 and the crazy part is it dosent even look that much diffrent because the original was so overbuilt for the time
nerver did i expect to trip balls over grass but IT LOOKS SOOOO GOOD
and thats WITH frame gen
so the frame gen implementation is actually good and dosent smear to oblivion
You DIDNT break your GPU this time? Amazing
Ain't that full with fake RGB molex fans?
super flimsy construction too iirc
im super flimsy construction
well that was weird. internet died here, when it came back, the driver on my pc didn't seem to exist anymore, reinstalling didn't work. restarted and it's like nothing was wrong
also idk if i'm ever going to get over DDR5's eternal memory training
Would you use vertical mouse for gaming?
One person at work has a vertical mouse and I was struggling using it so I am not sure if that's a good idea lol
Probably, if I could have found one with suitable sensor.
You can get good sensor, or vertical mouse.
And yes, would need time to relearn mouse usage.
Too bad it wouldn't fit in a keyboard drawer under the desk
the farther you get from mouse pad the less accurate you get
I had RSI from my last job that had me looking into vertical mice, the offerings were disappointing
(I just adjusted how I did my job to fix it)
they will

I would say the actual cost is around โฌ2000-2500 depending on how much RTX 4080 was at the time that picture was taken
*including PC case, PSU, motherboard and other things
that's a good point, 13900K dates the picture to be a couple of years old
Or trying to sell old inventory for extremely high price.
2023
$4300 at the time of writing
Harvey Norman are taking the piss no matter when that photo was taken
Review unit in that review was with 4090, not 4080 like the pic.
take off like 700-1000
lmao it doesn't support XMP and the locked down BIOS won't let you turn it on
New cost with trump tariffs
yes. totally works
interesting, I noticed that I don't hold mouse like that
I don't rest my palm on it - only finger tips are in contact
and thumb isn't in the valley, but on the sharp-ish edge below
what's a "bad" sensor?
One with too low CPI for the user, or with different CPI depending on movement speed, or low maximum movement speed before it starts to drop that movement etc.
Basically you want a mouse that is suitable sensitivity at some native CPI, and can keep up with your mouse movement speed, and doesn't care about how fast it is moved, so if you move fast in one direction, and then same amount slower in other direction, the cursor returns to same place when mouse is at same place it started from.
Most of the vertical mice I looked at either didn't specify CPI at all, or were only 400.
And lot of the cheap sensors fail at the other two points.
no
Also, some of the very high CPI laser sensors have major issues in the two latter points.
I have Canyon cns-cmsw16b (or MW-16 for short)
there were some moments when I thought it doesn't behave as expected...
though I can't say I was ever noticing that during gaming or FPS
Satis is definitely more then playable with it
Pixart 3212 sensor it seems, with very low max tracking speed.
Well "low" at 30 inches per second max before the CPI changes.
And isn't flawless below that either.
So movement speed affect how much cursor actually moves for same mouse movement.
Basically makes that you cannot "learn" the mouse.
So you can just know how much to move the mouse, to get certain response.
But have to make first gross movement, and then near end correct via monitor and eye response.
there are times when I micro-adjust after what I expected to be "enough" movement
Doesn't affect games like Satisfactory much.
Yeah, that is the sensor being crap.
Where the response isn't purely mouse movement distance related.
But also movement speed, and after hitting that "cap", it start to drop some of the movement in major way.
I've been playing "Due Process" recently, which is FPS, and I don't remember anything movement related that affected experience either
Maybe it's just from the nature of it - mostly holding corners, and when there's uncertainty it's in a controllable amount, so sonser issues don't affect it
But now the "BPM: Bullets per minute comes" to mind, and there I definitely remember 'oversteering' - it's much more chaotic, and it did have some impact.
Though still can't say it made experience bad - I beat the game numerous times.
not "YET"
but it thinks its a arc card and it prioritises shared ram over vram but it works so im not touching it anymore
Keychron M6 is probably one of the more vertical mice with gaming capability
what a scam
Not sure if the price is USD or AUD but it's still almost double of the actual cost
*if the price is australian dollar that is
Maybe it's ZWD and it's an amazing deal
8k ZWD is like 22 USD
We aren't that lucky ๐คฃ
Well, sometimes sellers set wrong price by mistake which is much lower and some customers manage to make an online order before employees notices a mistake
I have once managed to buy seasonic 750w PSU for the same price as a 650w version. Not sure if that was a mistake on seller's part
I've had that quite often that a 100W higher PSU is within $1 of its smaller counterpart, sometimes even lower
It's rare tho, especially if you're not looking at specific models but sort by price on a loose set of filters
I think I noticed weird PSU pricing on caseking.de last time (which is in customer's favor)
I've noticed the same thing, two models ~100w apart that are very very close in price
Sometimes it makes me wonder...why
If they outsource manufactur could be different sources... maybe trying to liquidate one
Or just excess inventory at the specific retailer that they want to move for that higher power model.
That's a serious setup ! Wow, GramdMA on PC ๐
i am doing and having done a lot with the Avolites pearl
Command wing and Fader wing, very nice setup!
And only relevance to MagicZ has to that setup is that he was left into the space with it for a moment.
30.000 Watts in LED or normal lighting?
Just regular bulbs
๐
theres more with all the other lights but i dont feel like continuing to count them
Hebe, Cool.. have a nice evening with this!
i got to check out the networking servers so atleast that i understood
So basically MagicZ is visiting somewhere with that kind of setup.
Aha okay, i thought you were running the show tonight with this setup ๐
nah but i got to mess with the lights
and apparently we get to do song suggestions next time around so now i have to choose a song
I was thinking something like paranoid but feels too basic
Crab rave
I got to mess with some of the lighting as well just nothing super advanced

How to tell if a PSU is safe? Professional testing from people like Aris
idc about safety as long as it works and lasts
You do know that "idc about safety" and "as long as it lasts" are mutually exclusive, right?
not necessarily
absolutely
Is a car a PSU?
I got a Superflower SHRUG
If a PSU is unsafe, it will quickly be unsuited for usage meaning it didn't last long
anyway i dont really know what i need and realistically budget dosent matter il just pick whatever is decent thats available
Best case: PSU shuts down or refuses to turn on
Worst case: PSU sets your PC on fire or gives you a nice big shock
As I said: buy the least expensive units that fulfills the criteria
Non-negotiable: minimum wattage, minimum safety requirements, formfactor
Negotiable: extra/stricter safety criteria, extra wattage, modularity, cable sleeving, warranty
im not sure if i want a like 750W and keep the 850W in my main system rn or reuse the 850W to replace the 550W bomb (only possible if lga1200 has 8Pin cpu power options) and then get like a 1000+ maybe 1200W thats also supported by cable mod since i wanna give custom cables a go
Unless something has changed Seasonic is reliable
cause i dont have enough power headroom with a 850W for any kind of upgrades
they tend to cost a bit more but yeah
im at like a good 700W without load spikes
Okay, so:
- Which LGA1200 CPU needs more power than an 8-pin EPS plug can provide?
- Why in the ever living fuck would you go that high wattage?
- Why do you think excess wattage is beneficial?
- Elaborate on what you consider "bomb"
i mean that most of them have 4pin cpu power
and 8pins dont split
- Only the shitty ones
- Just plug in half an 8-pin
idk who tought 200W on a 4pin cpu power conector was a good idea but whatever
Okay, I see my mistake with number 1, I was assuming that you make intelligent hardware decisions
how to short everything 101
4.a PSU buzzing louder than most fans and its not coil whine
You do know that 8-pin EPS is designed to be splittable in 4+4, right?
- not really just power curve aswell as future upgrade
There is no short in an unconnected cable
That's not a bomb, that's a defect
but i dont have that
"power curve" my ass, the extra money you spent on higher wattage or higher 80+ rating takes ages to get back
If you're looking for advice, stop being stupid
And to clarify: stupid doesn't mean not knowing, stupid means not learning
i think pulling future gpu wattages out my ass and trying to calculate off of delusion isntead of being safe would be worst
You could also just, idk, look at testing data
Look at Aris reviews (or similar ones) that check how a PSU handles transient spikes
Look at TPU reviews to see spiking and sustained load demands
Tadaaaaa, done
the 5090 already has 1000W+ spikes
so 60 series and 70 series and whatever else along side it is probably gonna keep getting worst
Go read
Spikes โ sustained wattage
A good 850W PSU can handle 1kW+ spikes (total load)
Depends on the model
And the total system load of course
7800x3d+5090 is realistic, 14900ks+5090 is not
280w+575W+lets say 50W for other things thats 900W+ constant and probably spikes reaching atleast 1100W
What dumb fuck CPU are you using that pulls 280W?
mine
Skill issue
220W stock 280W on XTU's finest steroids
This still holds true
All of that to lose to a 7800X3D at <100W
funneh
If you really wanna and they don't provide a data sheet you can always look up the part they're using ๐
of course... you'll have to open it... and void your warranty...
really not sure if any of those caps stay charged so might want to use a choptick or something to poke around ๐
Seriously though yeah 850 should be able to handle 1k, if not it's not that great of a supply
it dosent have an off switch and is defedently not safe so how about no
it might not handle it long... but long enough
even if it can handle it
its not a good mindset to have its not a good habit to underspec your PSU and it sure as heck shouldent be purposefully exceeded
overhead good, too much overhead waste
USB-C says it can do 20V
so then im guessing yea the limiter is the power delivery being only 5V?
im jumping between 2 things at once so its probably very confusing ๐
the USB-C spec allows 20V
does not mean every port can deliver it.
normal voltage is 5V, above is USB-PD and then both sides negotiate what the maximum supported by both sides is
i have discovered PL4 whatever holy beast of hell kind of power draw thats meant to be
158W at 0.85V is the PL4 which honestly sounds like a dream if it would actually trigger ๐
oooooo ok finally progress
i managed to bring temps down enough to gain 1000 points in cinebench
all it took was 2 5000RPM fans and 2 120mm fans at 2000RPM going full beans at the heatsink
but the limiter is power again
yea theres no way in hell you could ever cool this thing without any external help
lets go a 45 point gain on steel nomad light
it would seem everyone in the utilisation monitoring department has unfortunately been laid off as of this week
its kinda of holding clocks now atleast but its still not great
especially considering its at the TDP already at 30% usage (aledgedly)
in fairness these fans are not at all for this being that there only 55CFM and the blades dont overlap but i doubt anything reasonable would lower temps enough
im such an idot one of the fans is going backwards
well i doubt it would matter all that much since its the one on the gpu side but still
i flipped it so there both pushing air into the heatsink and still couldent even hit the average on timespy with everything cranked
atleast i tried
but hey atleast my jerry rigging held up
is going itx intead of micro atx worth the loss of having 4 ram slots available since im gonna be runnign 2 ram sticks or would it not really matter
cause like its DDR4 2933 that i couldent care less what speed it runs at as long as its stable
wdym "worth the loss"? What do you gain?
There are ATX cases that are more compact than some ITX ones
new idea: motherboard extensions for mATX. screws into the unused mobo mounts in a standard atx case, uses the bottom PCIe slot to integrate into the mobo
have fun tearing it to shreds cause i know you will but unless stock goes out thats what im going with https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/BjrMrM
Part List - Intel Core i7-10700F, Arc B580, Jonsbo D32 PRO MicroATX Desktop
you've already got everything but the gpu?
motherboard/case/gpu and technically PSU im reusing this one for it and then im gonna just get a new one for my main rig so i can have custom cables cause i want to try those out
no point in getting like a 750W and then being stuck with this one once i upgrade i may aswell just use it to begin with
that case can handle a 240 AIO, i'd go for that over a 120. never seen a 120 stand up to anything, and definitely not for the price
im reuising the alienwares aio since its rediculously excesive
also that case could handle the thermalright peerless assassin 120 SE height for dirt cheap
there's no 120 AIO that counts as excessive ๐คฃ
that cpu is nerver gonna see 60C even with a 120
AIO would look better in a tiny case, & be easier to work in
it does 200W on passive
i think sub 30C in 24C room temp is pretty darn good for a 120 aio
while doing absolutely nothing
yea hold it at 200W instead of letting it drop to 67W
point is its plenty good enough if it can do 200W at idle
yea right hold a 65W locked cpu at 200W outside of PL2 gl with that one
oh right, forgot intel likes to lie about what it can hold
the only issue with this cpu i have is that sometimes its literally so cold its unstable
you need to preheat it like a darn car
SFFTime N-ATX V2
versus the like of NR200P
Anyways, can't comment much since most stuff is pre-owned.
GPU feels overpriced, but that's the current market.
No price on MB and case
I agree with the 120mm AIO criticism, however a free 120mm AIO has infinite value as long as it's sufficient
With PSUs, bad PSU is:
- Likely to break early.
- Likely to feed overvoltage to rest of the components when it breaks, breaking other stuff too.
- Likely to burst into flames when it breaks.
And way down the list: - Might cause stability issues from output swings.
Basically unsafe because of use of cheaped out components.
Mb about 180$ cad every other option is 350-400+ generally used
Case is like 120 i think
And leaving various protections out to save in costs.
yea, definitely such thing as going too cheap
This shit ... is tiresome.
Playing game, accidentally set "project" (window screen options) to duplicate, second monitor turned green and bam. All gone.
AMD is a bit more flakky than Nvidia.
Gamed on that system for 6-7 years without a crash. Actually, I never had so many crashes in my life until I switched to AMD ๐
However: many people confuse "don't buy cheap" with "you need to spend big bucks"
And that's also false
wip
