That first part was an ET
not sure what was up with the second part tho lmao
An IR missile
ahh
i almost clutched a 4v1 once
made them shoot 2 of themselves down but then fell victim to the classic "look behind for too long and hit the ground"
there was this one time when i was flying around with the typhoon and got hit by a tree that came out of nowhere
took my entire wing off but still got 3 kills afterwards
@sand lynx a moment where the cobra button is actually useful
i still havent found any uses for it
granted, ive been playing 5-6.0 US tanks for the past little while so i havent had very many opportunities in the first place
The only time I've found it useful is just to pull more nose authority but it's very rare I ever actually use it
russian jets already have more than enough nose authority if you're using R-73s
Not the su33
Su33 is really heavy
And the 73 likes to arc
forgot to pay my server bill... suspended now... must correct
for a whopping $14.40
i got a check recently that was for 32p. literally cost more to mail it than it was worth
My friend ordered something for his Commodore 64 from a magazine. Got the stuff and a check for 1 cent that he'd overpaid.
in that instance just cutting that check cost well over 1 cent...
I believe he still has that check tucked away somewhere
Feels good to be back at office, resting. Hard work to visit the Bauma exhibition on Germany for a week
Yeah, having to visit Germany is rough, especially Bavaria
Really well organized event.
Public transport maybe not as modern that it was in Shanghai, but you can take drinks with you :D. Same for the messe area itself, food and drink service worked well. Easy to meet and make new contacts.
i'd love to see what german disorganization looks like 🤣
Every time you want smth from the government
true, tho i bet even that looks incredibly efficient from an american perspective
would it be possible to use the DDR5 socket to slot in a dedicated REBAR stick?
like some kind of weird in-between component like Optane?
What?
ReBar is just about how PCIe device can use main CPU RAM without CPU involvement?
right, but what about using the socket to let the gpu use an entire dedicated stick of ram that way
And just putting more VRAM onto the cards would probably be cheaper and easier?
it would, but right now the wealthiest company on earth seems to have 0 interest in doing that
And why would they be interested in adding extensible memory?
And Optane as tech wasn't really weird in-between.
Intel just tried to only go for cache, and NVDIMM markets for some reason.
And even didn't really push the marketing on the enterprise side cache market.
Only consumer cache, and then enterprise NVDIMM.
When the only products they really moved in bulk were the Optane SSDs for enteprise markets in the end.
Because their marketing for the consumer stuff made it seem they only work as cache with Intel chipsets for example.
When that wasn't the case.
They were completely normal NVMe drives.
And those Optane DIMMs were segmented to only the most expensive CPUs, and almost no-one wanted to use them as you rather had just more actual RAM if there weren't some special considerations.
And then you needed bespoke coding to really take advantage.
the marketing ruined it completely
Asus always talking about some special directly connected to cpu stuff specific to optane with U.2 ports
always found that marketing bullshit stupid
among other things I hate Asus since
always some marketing bullshit driven hardware design
U.2 is just another type of PCIe connector.
Basically cabled equivalent of M.2
M.2 ports simply needs a small bracket to be direct connect cable capable
And those convert to U.2 usually.
And there are U.2 to M.2 adapters too.
2.5" drive thingie that has U.2 connector and place for M.2 drive.
And U.2 still lives in workstation and server markets.
With U.3 also now existing.
But time to go and switch summer tires to my car ->
the ultimate feature no company would ever comit to unfortunately
it would also turn into another thing windows would suck at managing properly
Optane was great if you had the right workload for it
Not really something you encounter in consumer space
Yeah, but Intels marketing made it very confusing to prosumers.
And in Enterprise they marketed mainly that Optane DIMM thing to very high end, instead of just as very good scratch, log or cache drive.
Mut ny o kesänakit alla.
And tiered that Optane DIMM support to just the most expensive CPU tier.
Which was faster than PCIe versions.
But slower than DRAM, and taking DRAM slots.
So if you didn't need extra fast permanent storage, it was better to just put in more normal DIMMs.
failled attempt 475 million of me trying to make a even remotely comphrehensible chart
cpu clock works better because its further apart but still
red: Performance blue: Entertainement green: Quiet if you want a easier time... (im trying to compare the diffrences between the performance modes)
Looks like don't need to try the BIOS flashback feature. Just slap on the 9800X3D.

Tech inspector checking shipments
Aquacomputer product. In large enoug package for external radiators. I've had EK Cryofuel clear Premix before.
I remember when I posted Sheldon Cooper's quote saying his bowel movements run like a german train schedule. At first I thought it meant his bowel movements are always on "schedule" until you told me germans laugh at this reference because they know DB never arrives on schedule lol
I think the Münich S-Bahn S4 was at most about 3 minutes late when took it to Bauma for 3 days 😄
Because it was supposed to run every 3 minutes?
It was about every 15min from the stop nearest the hotel.
At least you arrived home so we can't jinx it like in in the video above
I had no problems. The U2 metro was somewhat crowded near the messestad area for opening hours. But Finnish people from outside Helsinki are so used to Taxi, so I ride with them to city center in evenings.
Here in Croatia, you better order Uber or some other taxi which has a mobile app
Otherwise, you are getting ripped off 100%
One customer recently got ripped off and paid €190 for 9 km which is like 27x higher than the market price (comparison to the market price might be overexaggerated since I found this info online)
Yeah its was the same in China, Didi Drive/under WeChat was their app. And it worked well in Shanghai. One time the driver was unable to reach our destination, and we had to walk ~50 meters. And we were refunded like 0.09€ for 3€ ride...🤣
The drivers not usually were able to communicate in english thou
But google translator worked well enough, just had to know which chinese to use. (not traditional)
We are getting robotaxi soon hopefully although there are huge delays in the robotaxi project https://youtu.be/dinYBGoQ0HA?si=QyEmgMoDPoQd_jfh
What does Mate Rimac – the Bugatti CEO who’s currently in the limelight for launching a new hypercar with a V16 engine – do in his spare time?
Why, he teams up with a couple of buddies to solve the thorny issue of autonomous ride-hailing services of course.
Enter Verne, a new company that Rimac and co. have founded to: design and build...
Hope it's not going to fail although I am very skeptical about level 5 autonomy
Afaik, level 5 autonomy doesn't exist yet and probably won't in the next few years unless I am mistaken
Lucky you
hey what's going on with 9800X3Ds popping, has a root cause been identified
other brands have it too, and it was put forth that asrock had it worse cause they were more popular
Or the other cases are something else.
Because Asrock has said their UEFI had issues and released fixed versions.
i love when choosing a motherboard is impossible
ah okay good
Undervolting something by mistake IIRC.
my friend may need an am5 system soon so I looked into it and oh no not this shit again
just had a scare with my 9800X3D
pc just freeze and crash shortly after booting into OS
but seems to be a RAM issue, after downclocking to 3200MT/s everythings running again
Sponsor: Thermaltake Tower 600 Case on Amazon https://geni.us/wjtN
We've seen a number of user reports pop-up about ASRock motherboard and 9800X3D CPU instability or failures, including CPUs dying (or sometimes, seeming "dead" due to instability -- but then working again with a new BIOS). We put together this report as we research and monitor th...
AMD releases a short statement on ASRock AM5 motherboards Ryzen booting issues AMD has released a short statement regarding the recent news of ASRock motherboard issues. A relatively large number of ASRock motherboards were observed to have problems with certain Ryzen processors. Some users even reported that their processors were no longer work...
But then there might be something else also going on.
But nothing new in last few weeks.
Individual dead CPUs are to be expected as infant mortality.
hm, might be safe to update my bios then
doesn't fill me with confidence on recommending an asrock
maybe an msi or a gigabyte or some shit I guess
msi been quite solid for me
hm, seems the bios update fixed the RAM isntability
yay
i have been finding it hilarious when people have been having trouble getting their ram up to 12000 MT/s
since they felt like confusing everyone this time around between MHz & MT/s
Random tech question:
Is there a physical difference between ctrl+c key combination and copy option from context menu?
Was trying to copy table with images from webpage (firefox) to a spreadsheet (libreoffice) and first one gave me 'select text formatting' popup that lost all formating vs second option taking several seconds then pasting the actual table into sheet.
I find myself confused, thus something I believe must be wrong.
On windows no, on linux depends on distro and clipboard settings.
win10 here and I do not expect differences
It's technically possible for the context menu to do something else, since it's just binding a function to that button.
But I expect a context menu saying copy to behave like ctrl+c
At least in windows.
And now, by reverse murphy law, it works both ways. Perhaps a third factor is at play - maybe I'm selecting some invisible pixel.
Omg, those tech AI companies are so cringe with those billboards...
What's even worse is that they call themselves "sillicon-valley" startup company
Like, you are not even from USA
Poaching.
Now every new tech company is calling themselves "sillicon-valley" company....
I mean are those real companies? Sofascore and Infinum?
Perhaps they hire secretaries with enough silicone to justify the name?

Yeah, they are one of the known tech companies here
Damn, that's aggresive.
Ai slop
Lawyers also commented in public there might be fines since there are elements of criminal acts considering comparative marketing is strictly monitored here
Yeah..
"We've built Pythagora on the foundation of collaboration and curiosity. It's more than just an AI-powered development tool; it's a culture of innovation. Whether it's our open-source roots with GPT Pilot (32k GitHub stars and counting!) or our commitment to the Functional Source License, everything we do is about redefining what's possible while staying open, transparent, and thoughtful about the impact we create."
Another AI 💩
🌈 It's the future 🌈
tech debt and vibe coding 😍
At least companies mentioned in the billboards have actual products or services. You are just some AI startup who thinks they are going to wipe out competition lol
a yes i love fans that have no manual control meaning the only way i can get them to stfu is by unplugging them
Going up against Porsche...
They are mostly picking up tech companies afaik
Someone already replied: "Hey Pythagora team, We are not assholes, And we have an actual valuable product, not a thin wrapper around ChatGPT to capitalize on a buzzword."
just have the company dump some sand in a trench out front, that way they can call it silicon valley
I would tell CEO 90% of startups fail and it looks like they are speed-running their demise just to see their reaction
list the entire company as a loss for tax purposes
I can't believe you can bankrupt a company here and simply open a new one the next day
thats what limited liability is for!
We should have better laws like in Germany where you can't register a new company until you have paid all debt for the previous company
if a company counts as a person for donation reasons, does that mean that intentionally destroying a company should bring murder charges?
Lol
god i feel so bad for this power supply it is buzing and whining like crazy
Correction: you can open a new company in Germany if you bankrupted a previous one and didn't settle debt but doing business is going to be much harder
the fan in the cheapest one i have decided to start screaming, & i don't wanna open it to replace it
it might actually be the blown up 1660 i literally cant tell they both have some of the worst fans i have ever seen
and also this thing is running 200W without a cpu cooler rn tf is going on
lol
yea no its defedently the PSU making that buzz im not insane right?
i brough out the phone with the +12DB lol
its so anoying that this gpu's minimum fan speed is 1250RPM
i wouldn't mind seeing all fans have that little reverse kick start that some GPUs used to have to keep them clean
tried to do somethin similar for 5090 coil whine
its audible but not really heard over normal gaming fan speeds
oh yea the astral has factory fan coil lol
that poor card sounds like my aio pump lmao
Think this video was about 300fps with normal 3Dmark Time Spy , its much less around 144fps
My ps5 has coil whine too, but you can't even hear it unless you're right next to it
I don't think I've seen many examples where a component has enough coil whine to be clearly noticable
that's pretty oof
my current card wouldn't even want to go above 1000rpm under load until i forced it to - i think the minimum is around 800.
I also have some excellent fans by noctua which have like a 0rpm / 300-2500rpm range, on a physical PWM controller. That stuff is way too expensive but boy do i appreciate it
yea i got one of those noctua hardware controllers with a bundle of theirs. kinda funny to see it these days, but glad i have it if i need it
Prenatal phthalate exposure and adverse birth outcomes in the USA: a prospective analysis of births and estimates of attributable burden and costs
thelancet.com/journals/lanplh/article/PIIS2542-5196(23)00270-X/fulltext
Phthalate metabolite concentrations were similar to those identified in women of childbearing age in national surveys.47 The distributions of phthalates were similar across trimesters (figure). Generally, phthalates were not strongly correlated with one another (appendix p 86), except MECPP, MEHHP, and MEOHP, which are metabolites of DEHP. The highest concentrations measured were mono-ethyl phthalate and phthalic acid (appendix p 87). As described in other US populations,48 non-Hispanic Black participants had higher concentrations of multiple phthalate metabolites, except for DEHP replacements (table 2), and Hispanic or Latino mothers were found to have higher urinary concentrations of LMW metabolites and lower concentrations of the HMW phthalates, DEHP and phthalic acid. Maternal age was inversely related to all phthalate metabolites, and tobacco use and lower maternal education were associated with greater concentrations of phthalate metabolites. No differences were identified by child sex. Higher LMW metabolites and phthalic acid were identified in primiparous mothers compared with nulliparous mothers, but differences were not noted among multiparous mothers compared with nulliparous mothers.
so why did Steam get rid of the size of game update files
Shows fine for me?
Both before, and during, download.
all i see is %
In the "Manage Downloads" screen?
I had it at top right of the line item.
When downloading, and after the name before.
also noticed that
The bottom simplified does that:
But the full screen does still show the size on top right:
And that Up Next did show the size before I put waiting update to download for another game this morning.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xS68sl2D70
some good perspective there
AI is advancing faster than anyone predicted—and it’s already reshaping industries around the world. But what does that mean for education?
In this livestream, @veritasium's Derek Muller explores how AI might change how we teach and learn, drawing on insights from past tech shifts and core principles of cognitive science. While AI presents ...
it used to be in the list too
like this.
But I remember couple days ago there were like 4 updates, and only one of them lsited size
SCR is rarely showing size though
Probably set size limit so that small downloads don't show it.
it also shows the completely wrong sizes
it told me satisfactory was 250GB once
i saw like 170GB for cyberpunk one time
so its not like its showing bytes for bits either because its not just 8X
bruh discord broke versioning again...
Like...
I had 0.0.90-1 installed.
ran system update.
now 0.0.89-1 is installed.
doubt.
Also building librewolf is scary seeing the number of warnings they let through...
Sure a lot of dependencies but wtf xD
But I think the main problem is that the sqlite3.c file is 177k lines long 🤣 (or longer)
nu
wandows just hides them :p
gonna change from librewolf to librewolf-bin, so I don't have to wait 30min to build the entire thing every update.
But fun to see how many dependencies have code smells :p
easy apps are bloatware.
It's android.
💀
I AM GOING TO BECOME THE JOKER
What'd you call, exactly?
Ah yeah, very fun
4060 has 2x frame generation, 5060 has 4x
Yeah, 4x mfg is kinda a joke
you absolutely cannot use an input frame rate of 23 for frame gen
you can cause i do but its not gonna be consistent 😂
like wading through the most stuttery treacle
and yet here they are saying it will make black myth wukong path traced playable
In that case though, just turning down the settings a little, using balanced dlss, and only 2x mfg at most is still better
they use it because the path traced mode uses an nvidia-provided DLL
ReSTIR
heinously inefficient, but it widens any gaps in raytracing performance to make geforces look better
completely unusable on 60-class cards so they use frame gen to con people
me
LSD gaming
LSD gaming is best gaming.
nvidia flame gen
switch to the switch 2
the 9060 might save us but it might also be exactly the same
the 9070 was a banger, but there's no guarantees for 9060
honestly getting out of the hobby completely if you don't have thousands of disposable income isn't a bad idea
i hate all of this
That's more or less what's happened to me
I've just had to pivot back to caring about the tech that was interesting 5-10 years ago because that's all that's in my price range anyways
I need some sort of pc for work/hobbies anyways
So I may as well do my gaming there
Considering I don't own a tv
Still on my 6700xt and I don't think I have a single rtx capable game installed atm lol
hardware that "Just works" is a delusional dreamland
yea but like i cant call apple or nintendo a majority manufacturer in the tech space
nintendo isent gonna be making the motherboard for your next pc
my original switch still only has one problem after what 8 years? and that is that the charge state overides the fan curve somehow???
so if its plugged in handheld the fan will lock at 100% and if its docked its locked at 0% and if its on battery its normal
switch 2 has a RTX 3000 card so its gonna be fun seeing how that ends up going
it hits 4K30 and 1080P40 on cyberpunk so clearly it has performance
just we dont know what settings that was at
but that was the performance at the like trial event thingy
i set everything to max and just hoped for the best
it was playable altho one of the cutscenes played at like 0.1FPS for an agonizingly long time but it dident crash so thats good enough for me
using ram as vram is a powerfull thing
i feel that
i feel like i cant remember jack shit anymore
anyway i found a flamethrower so im going to go play with fire for an hour
Oh that’s neat.
For the price I could get a Quest 3 instead.
Given I have a fast gaming PC I can leverage its power in VR whereas the switch is what it is power-wise.
There are plenty on both sides.
I do like the gamecube library coming to switch though!
I’ve never dealt with motion sickness.
I grew up on roller coasters so maybe I have a tolerance.
The adoption rate is slow but it's great tech.
From history we know Tetris launched the Gameboy even if kids loved Mario.
They need to do the same with VR.
Something with even more appeal than beatsaber.
VR hardware is moving along, more comfortable and light-weight but they aren't really at the 'sunglasses' level yet.
That's a hurdle they need to overcome.
Red matter on meta quest 3 gives me motion sickness
Other games and apps not so much
But... pain and suffering are my specialty...
I enjoy controllers on PC for certain games (Monster Hunter and Fighters for example).
I also love VR for certain games. The thing is controllers have caught on, and they're here to stay.
Like today... when I go to get a bunch of bags of soil that weigh 12.5kg each. Gonna hurt like hell with this bruised rib
I bruised my hip on the right side last week.
This is life...
Only starting to feel better now.
I wouldn't pick anything heavy with a bruised rib lol
I was doing handstands and landed on my hip twice in a row.
I suppose it's the price we pay for thie E-ticket ride eh
Oh I will have these bags... one way or another
This is something that isn't optional nor negotiable
There are personal reasons for that..
And besides it only might be a bruised rib... could be a pulled muscle. But taking this long to heal probably rib SHRUG
I have a coworker at work who is always busy when he has to help me carry archive boxes lol
But when I'm done moving the last box, he suddenly appears
I just... I dunno pain is pain man
Also I only need like 10 bags
I wasn't planning on container gardening this year however swinging tools is definitely out of the question.
If you plopped me down in the Minecraft realm right now I'd be fucked because I already tried swinging a pick and I'll have to pass on that.
interstingly the hammer motion im fine with... too bad I don't have any projects that require nails
Fiber is good for you
keeps you good and regular
Just don't eat the wrong type of fiber
Yeah avoid asbestos fiber
My office is near an area with a lot of warehouses that have gray roofs. I assume those are asbestos roofs
Yeah
In some cases it was better to leave it alone since disturbing it would just stir up the fibers
I'm from a generation where I'm concinced some of these folks my age got some of that lead paint...
heh
Leaded gasoline
Man the houses here used to be super deadly lol
Lead in the paint, asbestos in the walls
I bet a lot of warehouses near my office are abandoned and could be demolished to make residential or commercial buildings
Well, most companies are evil in some ways, don't have much room to be picky tbh
There is no way PPF can buy the largest ISP in europe lol
Deutsche Telekom
Yeah, although t-mobile is just a brand under Deutsche Telekom
Pilsfree, sounds like some weird pills a junkie from the back alley would give you for free
Yeah, microtrenching is much cheaper than digging the whole street
🫡
Don't you worry.. Its most likely powered by Nvidia GPU - Which we all know have been super reliant lately :D
What could possibly go wrong with that 🙈
It'll be hampered by regressive US nuclear policy regardless.
Showed this rib who the hell is calling the shots around here...
Also re-auth mod just saved me a reload on this modpack 😄
RIP Bowie :/
so good to just relax finally
i concur
and im picky with movies
Another classic at this point that I like that people seem to either love or hate. Lynch's The Elephant Man
lol
Hollyweird
Funny thing... a lot of stuff is filmed where I live
In fact a major studio is walking distance from my sisters house...
she's in the top right... the marker is trilith studios
lol
i go over there to go swimming
and fish in the pond sometimes
they filmed part of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure at a theme park near me
lol
yea but that isn't transformers
uhhhhh
1 maybe?
been too long since i played it
lol true
PS2 days
i do like how much stuff is wireless these days
the sound engineering in the first Transformers was incredible
they've definitely become memes, but it & the first Pirates of the Caribbean were amazing in the theater
like you said, Zimmer 🤣
we got to perform the suite for Pirates in school, & we had SEVEN bassists & 12 cellos for it
most schools have 2 or 3 bassists, having 7 was like putting 1200W subs in a Civic
high wattage lel
I bet I could make you leave this room with 5w...
My amp does 0.5w, 25w and 50w... i'd only need 50 if i was playing in a club... 25 is overkill for a house
my bass amp is 400W, is big enough to sit on, and could probably crack a concrete foundation
46cm speaker
My neighbors 100w full stack is... well more than anybody really even needs
oh same
even live there are often only 2 speakers in any of those cabs, doesn't matter there are 8 cabs for the guitar player
i use mine to crank Thriller during Halloween 🤣
look for the mic, that's the speaker and probably the only one playing
if you ever see the back stage at one of those shows the illusion is shattered instantly
oh 100%
i just already knew...
the ones i've seen are backups, so still fully functional, just not on
some guitarists will mic 2 speakers with 2 different mics mixed... that's about it
or two different speakers, seen that once
yeah there is always one or two cabs that are full with all 4
or 2 in each
That's what the extra heads are when you see like 4 marshall heads and one 6 stringer lol
all that shit does make for great stage props tho so whatever right
i wish i could have seen Pink Floyd on that tour they did quadraphonic sound
don't laugh at the time that was unheard of lol
4 angles was a big deal
my parents' first date was an Alice Cooper Concert in the 70s
They ended up releasing a quad version of that you can play
Cooper is a GOAT
his stage show was great, still is
he & his wife shop in my sister's store every once in a while 🤣
Seems like a pretty smart dude from what I gather in interviews
fantastic humor
a lot of interesting stories about Groucho lol
can tell he's just happy to be alive
Does he still golf?
oh yes
he's getting a bit long in the tooth lol
still tours too
and i think he still does his nightly radio broadcast too
yeah from what i can tell he's a class act
he's just a nice guy generally
He's all over my playlist on random even
youtube is sometimes scary good at picking songs now...
🤣
so many people derived their work from him, i'm kinda surprised he's not more well known
wonder what their AI thinks when it sees that every once in awhile Ernie rubber ducky song get played...
when i get in the bath lol
metal, metal, rock, classic rock, metal metal rock... rubber ducky song...
i bet Alice is a fan of Babymetal
I love Babymetal so much
When it was described to me I was like... yeah that sounds awful
then I listened to it...

do cars even come with CD players anymore?
I'm seeing a lot of people with usb issues on x570
hope it's fixed in latest amd platforms
yea, hoping that once the OS stuff in my car is dead that i can just use something like linux or android for it
plus i still really wanna hack in a blind spot mirror
it doesn't have it as an option, but good god the blind spot is bad enough (to me at least) to justify it
my mom's van is 7 years older & had it as standard equipment, & i honestly don't know why it's not mandatory on cars
and it's barely noticeable
maybe once i install a front camera i'll tie it all in
And almost every car now allows you to just plug in USB drive and play stuff from it?
Been basic functionality for long time.
No ripping in the car or inbuilt storage, but usually some hidden USB or SD card slot.
I cannot confirm or deny that I have access to nukes.
And the proper form probably had if instead of that, cannot remember.
because the area around me isn't remotely built for mass transit
the only good news is that it's electric & a sane size
& also a hell of a lot safer than my old car
TC?
ah
it was interesting to see his vid on his car's brake lights
& car lights in general
Lot of bad decisions over time at Nokia, then MS Implant CEOs bad decisions, then MS bad decisions.
By the time of N9, when the OS was finally ready for prime time, that MS implant was already the CEO and killed the project.
My car just burns dinosaurs directly...
And didn't even release the N950 (keyboard version of N9)
I tr y to stick with the brontosaurus though... damn velociraptors are hard to fill up with...
it's not even hype for me... i used to not even want an iphone
and i have an ipad... at some point i'll have the watch heh
Im not one of them so dont like me 😅

My laptop mics doesn't work when calling on discord.
Does the app have access to mic in Windows privacy settings?
And the mic works in Windows Listen To mode?
Where can I test that
Don't get me started on discord crap
Uptake and physiological impacts of nanoplastics in trees with divergent water use strategies
pubs.rsc.org/en/content/articlelanding/2024/en/d4en00286e
Using a hydroponic growth chamber, we have shown that PS-Pd-NP uptake into trees depends on exposure concentration and duration, rather than the trees' water use strategy. Furthermore, PS-Pd-NP were translocated from the roots into aboveground tree organs (stems, leaves or needles), which ultimately changed certain physiological functioning. In particular, photosynthetic efficiency decreased upon PS-Pd-NP exposure where the broadleaf species showed effects sooner than the needle-leaf species, possibly due to NPs compartmentation within needles facilitated by the endodermis. Our study has shed light on the intricate relationship between concentration–time and concentration–species in shaping plant uptake dynamics. Our main finding underscores the significance of interaction between concentration–time and concentration–species on PS-Pd-NP uptake. The observation that stem association remains unaffected by treatments highlights its critical role as a primary conduit for transporting NPs to leaves or needles.
World’s first demonstration that forests trap airborne microplastics

“We found that airborne microplastics strongly adsorb to the epicuticular wax on the leaf surface,” explains Akane Miyazaki, senior author. “In other words, these particles accumulate when they stick to the waxy surface coating of leaves.”
Plastic rain in protected areas of the United States
science.org/doi/10.1126/science.aaz5819
Using high-resolution spatial and temporal data, we tested whether plastics deposited in wet versus dry conditions have distinct atmospheric life histories. Further, we report on the rates and sources of deposition to remote U.S. conservation areas. We show that urban centers and resuspension from soils or water are principal sources for wet-deposited plastics. By contrast, plastics deposited under dry conditions were smaller in size, and the rates of deposition were related to indices that suggest longer-range or global transport. Deposition rates averaged 132 plastics per square meter per day, which amounts to >1000 metric tons of plastic deposition to western U.S. protected lands annually.
unfortunately, 'nature' is not free from this pollutant
I did say the stuff is everywhere now.
Bioaccumulation of microplastics in decedent human brains
nature.com/articles/s41591-024-03453-1
The present data suggest a trend of increasing MNP concentrations in the brain and liver. The majority of MNPs found in tissues consist of PE and appear to be nanoplastic shards or flakes. MNP concentrations in normal decedent brain samples were 7–30 times greater than the concentrations seen in livers or kidneys, and brain samples from dementia cases exhibited even greater MNP presence. These data are associative and do not establish a causal role for such particles affecting health.
sad that nature.com is still not friendly for bot

Just asked ChatGPT and MS Copilot about a recent law regarding air conditioners and both answered wrong lol
"(4) Cooling, heating, renewable energy sources and antenna systems, as well as pipes, cables and accessories for these devices, may not be installed on the street facades of constructed buildings."
The law is related to residential buildings only and private houses are not included
Both ChatGPT and MS Copilot said you can't install AC outdoor unit on private house street facade
Ok, even Gemini answered wrong lol
asking chatgpt for legal advice is like asking a skyrim NPC the meaning of life
xD
And then there's the dumbfuck tier of lawyers that let ChatGPT write their paperwork and don't double-check it
vibe lawyering is even worse than vibe coding
Wanted to test how good AI is at analyzing new laws. Guess they suck 🤣
Language model.
Oh, forgot to test Grok
Not analytical model or law model or anything else than words after words.
Guess I can call my coworker and tell her she is not going to get fired atm
She is a lawyer and thinks she will get fired right now because chatgpt can summarize articles or laws which take her hours to read
And then you have to use that hours to check if the summary was right or hallucinated anyways.
summarise incorrectly
99% reliability means 1% of the time you're gonna lose your case for making shit up. and uh.
it's not 99% reliable
I wonder what's the dumbest and most insane wrong answer from AI regarding laws
99% reliable means in a 1000 word essay, there are 10 bullshit words
probably when it hallucinates precedent
Trying to find wildest example online
Btw, this video is hilarious https://youtube.com/shorts/wiNHGXyVY58?si=FgjLjcKZy9Cdv7ov
A New York judge shut down a plaintiff's attempt to use an AI-generated video to present an argument in an employment lawsuit. The man, who was representing himself, later issued an apology to the court saying he didn't intend any harm and thought the AI-generated avatar would be able to deliver his arguments without his mumbling and stumbling.
...
Judge: Is that counsel for the case?
Old man: That...I generated that. 🤣 🤣 🤣

y'know it's real cathartic to see such backlash against frame gen horse shit this gen
me @ frame gen
normally I'd look at sales charts and despair as the masses buy this shit up but they aren't even making enough to do that
I suspect Jensen has totally lost the plot, and there's nobody at Nvidia with the stomach to tell him no at this point. Right down to his stomach churning onstage gimmicks.
It's probably been so long since Jensen actually played video games he doesn't remember what real performance improvements actually are.
Text to voice and assigning it to a mixer channel 😛
gave my dad a steelseries mouse with optical switches because the logitech mice he kept buying would die after a year
been going 3 years now, no issues
nah, the one that could hook into like 3 devices
kinda chunky
M720
logitech would make about a billion next year if they just licensed their scroll wheels out to other companies
i use the cheapo redragon MMO wireless mouse 🤣
yea i burned thru both logitech MMO mouse variants in a year each
G602/604
the switches are shit
4h troubleshooting wasn't the plan fml
i wish that mouse internals were easier to access & clean
yea, $40 makes it high demand i think
plus they don't have the weird soft logitech "this absorbs all the oils & looks & feels awful after 10 minutes" vinyl shit on them
redragon's cheap enough that if it dies in a year you don't feel too bad 🤣
no idea about their other stuff but i love this mouse
gen 1 and 2 items tend not to have been cheaped out on for profit
yea they're at like gen 7 now
i bought the logi MX keys and had 2 scissor switches fail after 2 months
do hardcore curls with it
now i need to see one of the tech channels team up with Alec Steele & make a tungsten mouse that weighs like 2kg
how goes the independent republic of #off-topic-tech
Anyone here uses Thunderbird (windows) for POP email?
all is well in the kingdom
nice
I have now 4 PC which have reseted the incoming mail server adress in Thunderbird. Have not upated the Thunderbird. Common for them is that they read the same my incoming email pop server. (from ISP)
Wonder if Thunderbird has some kind of default setting which is in format: mail.youremaildomain.com
Or is this some kind of hacking attempt tha I dont understand
I'd love to talk politics of our lovely independent republic, but I fear for mod intervention.
We'll have to wait for a tech discussion to derange into politics
disentangling the two is uh. a challenge
idk, had zero problems before. Whole profile so easy to backup etc. This was just strange
I did lookup and my ISP has never used the address it defaulted, also it changed port from 995 to 110 and login SSL/TLS to STARTTLS
Mystery is that same thing happened in my phone, android gmail app which reads the same pop server
I dont know how its possible
tbf, a lot of current tech topics are hella political
OCCT for Linux is probably one of the biggest non-political tech news I've seen in the last couple months
Which btw, icymi, here's the announcement:
https://youtu.be/7-WAofovvL0
After extensive development and rigorous testing, OCCT for Linux is officially out of beta!
This marks a huge milestone: Linux users now have access to the same powerful stress-testing and monitoring capabilities that Windows users have relied on for years.

Still love this when using a self-checkout
@pure karma 118.5w PL2 still makes this thing sound like an A-10 but at least it doesn't hit 104c like it did stock with the 157w PL2 it came from factory with
12850HX is the CPU in this mf
how??? on a 200W PL2 with no active cooling i peak at 95C so just barely out of throttling
ohh laptop yea no gl with that lol
Haha yeah that's yeah
Still scores like 20.8K in the PL2 rage mode on 118w
And a respectable 18.1K on PL1 sustained boost
Cinabench R23 multicore
mine is locked so i cant do anythign about it
The only thing I can do with mine is raise or lower the powerdraw
Raising it just makes it overheat
118.5W is the sweet spot for PL2 so far
What's the full specs on this?
12850HX 32GB ddr5 4800mhz CAMM RTXA3000M 12GB 1.5TB of all NVMe ssd's
Power management has been tuned a bunch to make the laptop like 16-20% faster depending on the task for less power
I did also manage to OC the display to 72hz from 60 to make things just a bit more bearable
Oh nice I’ve got a 13700H and 4070 in mine
Different use case but my GPU power limit is around 120W I think, but I usually have it at 80-90W and temps sit around 80°C
I’ve had the cpu spike to 95-100 though funny enough
My gpus power limit is 135w and my CPUs power limit boost max is 118.5w
Sustained boost is 90w
I’m not even sure what the 13700H can boost up to tbh, the TDP is 45W but the base clock is only 2.4GHz
Definitely seems like they could’ve put more cooling for the cpu on my laptop though, it runs a decent amount hotter than my gpu
Though it is an intel
Performance is pretty good for the price I paid though so I’ll take it
@glacial zephyr my laptop needs to be lifted up a tiny bit
fuuun
so I plugged hdmi cable that was used for FHD mointor into 4k one, and it just looks off, and windows doesn't even allow me to change resolution, despite, as I have said previously, setting 5k resolution for fhd monitor.
installing AMD drivers...
wait... I think it doesn't identify it corretly
Honestly temps aren’t bad considering its a laptop
At the same usage I think my laptop would be hotter
fun
IT does require i elevate it slightly
I have no idea...
if its flat it will overheat
perhaps should use ddu
try ddu yeah
yep, it worked
speaking of Steam and updates
there's not even pause button
but then I clicked on the bar at the bottom and UI appeared

Lian Li Lancool 216. 9800X3D & 4090 with EK block. Mixed custom loop stuff, D5 next pump. Just got it assembled, run some 100% pump and force air the air out with some tilts.
so what this is like your 6th? build of 2025 now?
well you got one with a astral 5090 you got 2 with 4090's so already the math isent mathing
The same old 4090 in all cases?
there was one with a 7800X3D both of these are 9800X3D
😄
so there is atleast 3
and a laptop? or was that someone else
no yea a core ultra laptop
too
And same 9800X3D CPU?
Which got replaced by 99X03D in the main computer?
But some working people got disposable income.
In nuthell, I upgraded my 9800X3D & 4090 into 9950X3D & 5090. Those old parts are now in the PC abve pic. It just has new case, PSU and MB
meanwhile im over here trying to get this chinesse 550W power supply to stfu and stop buzzing
Was able to get INNO3D 5090 ichill frostbite wih factory waterblock
So no need to swap it to Astral
How many kidneys did it cost?
3200€ from Proshop, about the same I paid for the Astral. But lost some money selling the Astral, but less than what the Alphacool block for Astral would have cost. And Alphacool seems to have trouble producing them. Been in order for 4 weeks now. Cancelled it yesterday-
Yes a laptop for 3D scanning, lost of that done and atleast 3 projects incoming for that. And then a workshop PC but that I just consult the parts and company pays it.
i should too but i dont feel like it
how about some implanted bone conduction ones
why not some more? 🤣
i have both the bond villian scar & the indiana jones one

It will bring competition against ARM at least. Might take a decade ot two until it'll rival AMD & Intel
iirc nvidia already uses some risc v chips for their low-level cpntrollers
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPGGQy-xmHs
pretty sure its the latter
Were the AMD FX CPUs REALLY as bad as many say?... How well did they age compared to their competition?... Do well threaded APIs like DX12 and Vulkan make them 'Fine Wine', or are they just 'Vinegar' today? Let's find out!
Bonus Content: Do tech tubers need to re-examine their testing methods? We'll look at this too.
CHAPTERS...
RISC V is just command set and spec.
Well, the options are various ARM versions, RISC-V, or fully custom.
Where ARM has licensing fees, RISC-V doesn't.
As X86 is limited to Intel, AMD and VIA.
Long time court ordered cross-licensing deal.
Intel wanted to bury X86 and move to Itanium.
AMD did 64-bit extension to X86 while Intel was messing with Itanium.
Athlon, Phenom, (FX,) Ryzen.
Just branding.
VIA ?
Inherited Cyrix rights to x86 way back when.
Not actively doing anything with the license, but they have/had it.
And did produce some X86 compatible CPUs in early 2010s.
Up to early 2010s.
Cyrix Corporation was a microprocessor developer that was founded in 1988 in Richardson, Texas, as a specialist supplier of floating point units for 286 and 386 microprocessors. The company was founded by Tom Brightman and Jerry Rogers. Terry Rogers was also serving as the company Chief Executive Officer and president up until December 9, 1996, ...
a Railway company has the stuff to make CPU's???
VIA Technologies?
Long time chip company.
Not related to that.
Red Hat Software was created to make Linux distribution in 1993?
No, that only came in 1994.
Red Hat, Inc. (formerly Red Hat Software, Inc.) is an American software company that provides open source software products to enterprises and is a subsidiary of IBM. Founded in 1993, Red Hat has its corporate headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina, with other offices worldwide.

I got mail from microsoft. And it's fucking fishy.
But I am staring at the adres from the "fake" one and I send a "real" code.
And the adres looks the same, so now i am wondering how this is even poissible.
I only spot one difference (beside the time). And the language difference.
Microsoft Account Team vs Microsoft-accountteam.
But the mail adress looks iddentical, or I don't see it.
Also same domain.
Would need to look into the actual headers.
That "From" field is freely settable anyways.
Yeah, figuring that one out.
I know from a YT video, there is way more information to be found.
Yeah one time back in the BBS days just before internet was spreading out I used a local BBS's unix machine to spam a comepetitors BBS with all sorts of random from addresses
including some that appeared to be from himself until further inspection heh
Then I did what any respectable shitbag would do and email bombed the very system I was using to do all this
All just raw SMTP commands done with a QModem script too...
I also may or may not have been able to do things to payphones...
Funny thing was it was mind numbingly easy to make free calls with those things. If you listened you could hear these clicks when you'd put a coin in, different pattern for each coin. Allllll you had to do was play that sound into the system
I also found out when nobody answered a pay phone that they had a modem in them that would answer eventually. Never investigated that but I assume it was just logging/reporting
Oh wow, it was an account I forgot I even had.
Logged in 9 years ago. I guess the password leaked in some DB.
Holy fucking shit.
Well, nothing I can do about that.
So it seems that different accounts, send different emails
Multiple accounts are connected to the one that received the email.
i use google search on firefox lol
"Send code for account A" sends a mail in English
i am a imposter
"Send code for account B" sends a mail in Dutch.
With slightly different layout.
Why? Who knows. Microsoft is a billion dollar company but can't even send unified mails.
And then shitting on users for doing stupid shit. Well atleast start with sending proper code emails with the same layout.
fucking idiots
Never started Androiding.
cant stop if i nerver started
Also, they send "Hey receiver" here is a code.
But they don't specifiy for what account.
So the user is totally clueless for what account they need to change password.
If you have 10 accounts. You have to change all the passwords of those accounts.
Instead of sending; hey, here is the code for x account. So you atleast know which one is compromised. BUT NOOOO...
Maybe I should just delete that account.
can't
If you mean ranting, sure
Because expectation is that that email is sent to demand?
And if you get it without yourself asking, it is someone trying to break in.
Doesn't make any sense?
By trying to do password reset.
Both mails have different layout.
And different language.
And both mails are legit.
Point was, they can both be legit, from someone trying to break into your account.
- Account A code to MAIN e-mail: english, layout with picture.
- Account B code to MAIN e-mail: dutch, no layout with picture, just plain text.
Legit as in sent by MS.
What letterdief expects:
- Dutch/English mail in same layout for all accounts.
Yes, because I am testing it right now.
I can send the codes myself you know?
And MS just says; that's a leggit e-mail adress so all is good.
While we know it can be spoofed (check headers).
So highly confusing for anyone who is already on "high" alert.
Yes?
And those two have been written by different people, in different countries, probably.
"Why? Who knows. Microsoft is a billion dollar company but can't even send unified mails."
That's why I said that earlier.
So let me get this straight;
For all these years. Tech companies are like; if you see a mail, that looks different. Or with a different e-mail.
DON'T CLICK ON ANYTHING.
The same tech companies:
Let's just send mails to the SAME e-mail adress, but with different layout depending on which account. That will 100% help our users
spot sus e-mails.
Microsoft net worth as of April 18, 2025 is $3.083T.
Because of instead of some complex form mail with different text inserts per language, they just have separate complete mails sent depending on language, and the localization team for that specific language fucked up, or it hasn't been updated to match latest US English version?
For thing that almost no-one will bat an eye at.
All I read are excuses.
** $3.083T.**
Invest in AI but can't have a mail template implemented globally.
"I'm hearing an awful lot of excuses and very few solutions"
Solution is simple. QA. (Quality Assurance)
words i've had to say lol
But what big tech companny needs quality engineers 🤷♂️
hmmm this zombie pigman dropped two brains o.O
Ah, so that's where steve jobs brain was 🤣
Next-gen Nova Lake-S processors said to use new socket R.I.P. LGA-1851. If this rumor is true, it’s really bad news for users of the LGA-1851 platform. Intel launched its 800-series motherboards only in Q3 2024, and it seems that they may support only one generation of processors. Reviewers asked Intel multiple times whether the platform […]
-# jesus christ
Do the new boards at least come with a reacharound?
oof
At this point, I don't even know what are the latest intel cpu sockets because of weird socket numbering
On AMD, it's logical: AM3, AM3+, AM4, AM5
Don't use ppf
I'd say it's above 1 million kilometer of fiber
At least the future looks bright:
74,6% coverage is nice. Thought it was much lower
Want to know czechia statistics? You won't like it

AM3+ isent good but sure yea i get the point
actually LGA1954 would be incredibly easy to remember since its just WW2+10
Intel numbering is a nightmare for me: LGA 775, 1156, 1366, 1155, 1150, 2011, 1200, 1700
Compare that to AMD and you will understand why I can't memorize intel sockets lol
Now when I look at it, it looks like one of those IQ test questions where you have to find a pattern
i mean, at least the numbers are how many pins there are
no idea how many pins AM4 or 5 have
That might confuse some consumers who will think that more pins mean better cpu and will therefore think intel 2011 is the newest generation with most pins
oh now i can't wait for intel to try to come out with an LGA 6000 and see things go to shit
I hope they won't release LGA 1984
Because when someone mentions 1984, the first thing that comes in my mind is Orwell's dystopian novel
the only weird socket thing with amd is inconsistent thread ripped and mixed epyc name
for instance SP5 replace SP4
but SP6 is a lower performance socket aside of SP5
wxTR
TRx
are all weird
weird wild and wonderful
now AMD needs to shock everyone by coming out with threadripper cores stuffed into an AM4 die & come out with an AM4+ platform
it wouldn't make sense at all
thread ripper requires more electrical lanes
An am4 thread ripper is basically a scam
but i really wanna see 64 cores in a tiny package
give it a few years and maybe
would be fun to see a "fresh architecture, but same pinout" where they find uses for a bunch of the ground pins
How does the older Epyc chips hold up to game servers?
Saw some of those when I was shopping for a rack setup
If AMD makes a consumer/"this is totally an EPYC CPU guys" CPU that has more than 16 cores I will bust
Almost a month ago I built a Hyper-V server for work that uses a 4564P and that thing slaps
yeah im on a budet, those are sime pricey chips just for the cpu lol
why im shopping on the used market
They're fine
But just use Xeon E if youre on a super budget
missed 2066
I won't spend 800 on the entire system most likely
How many cores do you need
If you can afford DDR5 buy Xeon E series
cores would help too but I'm not going to be running a bunch of them
For the short term I'm happy with what I'm renting given the price
Bro what is in the new windows update lmao
Have a Xeon E5-1620 v2 with 64GB, sold as 300/300 unmetered but I get 1000/300 in practice. $14.40/month
oh... 2x2TB drives
Works great for modded mc... jellyfin... seems to do SF OK but it's really untested with multiple people and a lot of large builds
For home I want something newer/faster with the CPU
I'll def want some solid state storage for some things... and some hard disks for mass storage
u literally had to restart the update manually cause it couldent do it on its own
good job windows
1156 to 1366 to 1155 to 1150 WTF LOL

"[Public Announcement – Intel Socket 1984 Launch Event]
“Big Brother is Booting You Up.”
Ladies and gentlemen, comrades and overclockers—
Introducing the all-seeing, all-controlling Intel Socket 1984: a revolutionary leap forward in centralized processing, surveillance... and freedom! (Just kidding about that last one.)
Built to be doubleplusfast and doubleplussneaky, Socket 1984 doesn’t just process data—it watches it. Whether you're editing documents, watching cat videos, or writing thoughtcrimes in Notepad, it’s already logged, categorized, and silently judged.
Why settle for privacy when you can have party-approved performance? With built-in support for Intel’s TruthCores™, Socket 1984 ensures your machine only runs approved facts, all clocked at 2+2=5 GHz.
Features include:
Ministry of Thermal Control cooling support
Compatibility with Newspeak-compatible chipsets
Zero Room for error—literally, it's soldered down. Forever.
“Winston Mode” — a failsafe that deletes anything subversive and replaces it with Minesweeper.
So remember:
WAR IS PEACE.
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY.
IGNORANCE IS CACHE.
And the future? It's a boot, stamping on a motherboard—forever.
Intel Socket 1984
The last socket you’ll ever need.
Because you don’t choose the processor—the Party does."
*used ChatGPT for that
LGA (Land Grid Array, just pads on CPU) is type of socket, and the number is the number of pins.
So Intel doesn't have socket names, just the exact technical type being used.
AM5 with same naming would be LGA-1718.
And AM4 would be PGA-1331.
And that 1366 has more as it had three channels of RAM, when the one before and after it had just two.
And 1155 and 1150 were actually using basically same socket part, just with different key, and the CPU had different amount of pads.
Basically making them incompatible for not socket physical reasons.
Just changing the pinout for some reason.
I want a 1337 socket
This last upgrade was my first time going AMD in over a decade and it was so worth it.
What am I looking at?
I have this gaming laptop here, when you pull power chord out, it shuts down. My instinct says it's battery, anyway to make 100% sure before ordering new battery?
Fiber coverage
Oh, friend. I know. I am angry about that for years.
I said it so many times in this channel, my country is so small, lazy, innefficient, stupid, ... when it comes to fiber deployement.
If we ever get a competent goverment, it will be alright
One way or another, everyone will be forced to invest in fiber (or 5G)
wtf, why do I need a broadcom account to download VMware....
Because Broadcom bought VMWare and has steadily been killing it by trying to make more money?
Basically anyone who used them has been trying to get away once the price increases were announced.
VMWare Player was completely killed for a time.
Workstation hasn't been free ever or at least not in long time?
It was that VMWare Player that was free for noncommercial use.
Oh right, I think I might have used VMWare Player instead of workstation
Don't remember since it was long time ago
Ah, remembered wrong:
2024 change to freeware
In May 2024, VMware Workstation Pro became free for personal use, with only commercial use requiring a paid license, and free VMware Workstation Player was discontinued as unnecessary.[15]In November 2024, this change was expanded to include commercial and educational users, thereby making the software free for everyone. At the same time, however, Broadcom discontinued official technical support for the product, instead directing users to seek help from existing documentation and the community.[16]
And in 2015, VMWare Player was renamed to VMWare Workstation Player and moved to use same version numbers as the Workstation Pro.
You won't believe how difficult they made it to download VMWare.....
Made an account with a temporary email but still took me some effort to find the download website
It's not as simple as click on "Download VMware Workstation Pro". You have to search for articles and then download VMware
That's the dumbest way to download a software...
they have to keep people using scamable access schemes
ask why google want to sign applications themselves now
At least it's not as bad as downloading toshiba laptop drivers in the past, that was a complete nightmare
You couldn't just search your model and then get a list of drivers
After clean install, it seems the battery of the laptop is at 0%
And stays at 0. So, new battery it is.
or… get this… you keep using it until it explodes
That kinda happened after they changed their payment model, so you had to pay like $100 per user.. Then suddenly everyone cancelled their subscription and moved to other VM solutions
It's not mine.

usually jet have propellers inside them
Nope... they have impellars 🙂
probably 9060
God damn hope so...
9080 when?
im trully getting sick of this AMD driver timeout crap..
considering hard to replace it with an Nvidia
there is no logs to find out what is causing it, nor is it easy to reproduce..
What CPU?
What speed is RAM at?
How many RAM sticks?
What GPU?
7900x - 5900 MT -> 2 -> 7900xtx
3x + new windows installs, rules out DDU -> ram at stock ->
Ah, this case, which seems to be from broken at stock clocks GPU.
Which happen at low incidence rate.
Would need warranty replacement.
As AMD doesn't allow underclocking.
will they take it if 2 of the blades of 1 fan are broken?
Almost certainly not.
there we go
so nothing i could do about it now then xD
but then again, the internet is full of timeouts 😦
But basically not AMD or Nvidia thing, but individual faulty GPU, which affect both manufacturers cards.
Which doesn't tell anything.
Just that GPU or GPU driver crashed for any reason.
Lot of those for Nvidia too.
Lot of those have been traced to too high memory clocks, as people buy high-speed XMP/EXPO kits that then don't work properly with their CPU units.
sounds fair enough, did consider my ram being the issues, hence letting it run on stock
but thing is, theres days i can play without issues
and there is today, 7 in about 2 hours
i have send a submission to the vendor i bought it from, if you dont shoot youll allways miss, perhaps we can make an arrangement of some kind
thing was 1k €
aight, if things dont work out, lets say they dont wanna replace it or anything, what should i consider getting, a 5080 or a 9070xt?
the 5080 is just a better GPU
the questions is : wether or not spending the extra is worth it
Wdym with this?
well they go for like 1400, but how much better is it for 600 more
it voids warranty
they cant prove it, there was a thing about that some time ago
same with that warrenty sticker thingy
Doesn't allow going under the default clocks.
At least for VRAM, almost certainly for GPU core clock too.
there IS probably a V-BIOS thing that trips if you underclock it
you can lower the power limit though
Ok, can go to -28% for Core for my 6600.
VRAM doesn't allow any underclock, only overclock.
bro, i can go to 500mhz on my RX 6600

yeah, VRAM cant be
had HWmonit open during 1 of the timmeout, but no weird spikes in power, or clock speeds
or temps
But yes, I remembered wrong.
So @gleaming shadow could try what happens if that GPU Core frequency was lowered by 10%.
As diagnostic test.
Ok.
voltage to 1135 to 11150 in steps of 5
So already tested.
if that too doesnt work then you should try RMA'ing it
maybe my 850 PSU is not good enough
thats plenty
looked it upo bought it 21.03.2024, but the thing is 1 blade of the 3rth fan broke, so i had to take of a couple to balance it out,
that is a problem.. 😦
so i messaged the vendor, and hope, if you dont try it will for sure be a no, and if you try it is a possible yes
you should also tell them about how it is constantly making your games crash
It just timeout again
i did the same with my SSD
they took it in and gave me a new one
though i am in europe so maybe that helped IDK
i am dutch, so europe FTW with there warrenty things
but like i said, 1 fan is busted up, that might be a problem
heck if i pay for the repair opf that fan, to get a card replaced id be more then happy to, instead of 1k for a new one

Basically that part of the driver crashed and was restarted, but everything using the driver was killed.
jep
its 16% slower
at 4K raster
stupid thing is, i have 400 hours or so in factorio and 0 crashes... same with Satisfactory in DX11, no crashes - but going to dx12 its a lottery
its 30% slower in RT when discounting EXTREMELY NVIDIA favored tests
60% slower when counting those
Marginal stability is always about load profiles.
And that it changes day to day points there is some external factor like exact room temperature or like also in play.
TBF HU only tests game where RT imporves the games visuals
quick question : have you tried capping down your fps ?
