Except it's absolutely loaded terminology: "army of influencers", "godsend for PC gamers"
So not even that is true because it's using bad faith rhetoric. You can't just reduce it to the raw information
sounds like you are confusing system target and user target
real life batteries don't have percentage
so saying system use "only 90%" is at best bad wording
now user target settings is actual 80% of what the system estimates
it's so the user get more involved in battery life management and in turn can better use the battery for conditionally more capacity AND more life
you can say that if you set 80% limit on user battery target, the 100% system target is higher
than if you set 100% user target (in which case 100% system target must be restrictive to retain battery life)
i'd kinda like it if they just start "lying" about phone battery charge state like they do with cars. display a true 80% as 100%, true 20% as 0%
or at least have a setting to enable that kind of display. for some reason i hate seeing my charge stopping at 80%
yea, i'd rather it lie to me
although what would be better would be to bring back swappable batteries
they're pushing for user-replaceable by 2027
but still the garbage way of disassembling it qualifies
i miss popping open a case & just yanking it out
also they claimed that most of those changes were for water resistance rating, which i've never believed
i kinda wish that regulators would hammer down on companies' lies about why they do things. sure, it might get it the rating, but it being significantly cheaper is the main reason
and i remember other phones getting the same rating while having replaceable batteries
at one point i got me & my dad the same wireless keyboard because they were on sale, & when i opened them up, one had swappable batteries & the others were soldered. literally no other difference
Harder to do, and easier for the user/owner to make not water-resistant.
That one is my mothers cat I look after when they are away. Also a dog too, but usually they are able to take the dog with them. But for that young cat that can get some of the food outside in summertime, like mouses and small birds the food is ~200€/year. For older cat if you want to take them to Vet, it can reach GPU levels easily 😄
i bet the 7800 XT took his money straight out of his bank account
And what was his problem with it and what he thought he should have bought?
he just really hates FSR
and that made him hate everything AMD
even RYZEN.
and he thinks he should have bought the 4070 instead
and AMD RT perf too
(to an unhealthy degree)
Honestly just don’t buy radeon for RT
Tho ig the new shit is kinda promising like the 9070 XT
Its gone from "avoid Radeon if you play a significant amount of RTX titles" to "RTX is fine/passable but it's just not a selling point"
well
if you want to do PT you still NEED an NVIDIA card.
Yes but we were'nt talking about path tracing
so RTX just means the overall NVIDIA feature set ?
Yh RT is Raytracing and X dunno what it means
Yeah, when I weas saying rtx I specifically meant rt there
GTX might originally been imagined as something like "Graphics Tech eXtreme"
well
regular RT is still a selling point for RT enthusiasts
AMD is still a bit slower
(like one tier behind at each tier so far)
As I said
It's not a selling point for amd, but it's also much less of a reason to just straight up not buy their stuff
GT: Giga Texels
GTX: GT eXtrem
RTX: Ray Tracing eXtrem
aka:
GT meant something
add X to make it sound cooler
change the G to an R because we now can trace rays
And probably marketer inventing that change from GTX to RTX had no idea anymore where that GTX came from.
Other then the 9070XT
9070XT is almost parity for RT with the competing gpus of it's tier

well
it has awfull performance in Wukong and Indiana jones in PT
To be fair those games SUCK for optimization
there making gains in RT not PT
But cyberpunk PT
in RT its essentially a 4070 Super.
Basically competing as intended
first time i ever heard someone call indiana jones and the great circle unoptimized.
And it's not too far off the 5070ti in rt but falls a bit behind in pt
But give the 9070xt an undervolt and you can basically have a 5080 level pref
PT has an NVIDIA SDK ONLY
so i am sus there might be some backroom dealings there to make Intel and AMD GPU's suck at Pt
-by 1%
so its the same : )
its still worst lol
true.
Tho amd's 3rd Gen RT is very very good
It's still in the shader pipeline but it's basically huffing crack. And really really kicks ass
I think the main reason is security, both for and against the user
for the user because they can't put bad modules in, frying their phones or spying on them, or worth
against the user because then you basically CAN NOT DISABLE a phone, it's permanently powered and listening, it's a big brother asset
for the user because you will not complain about data corruption after removing battery for a week or more
Nah, just about making as slim product as possible for as cheap as possible.
I'm tired of the arguments "people are stupid that's why"
"no it's the gov is evil"
like
grow up please
people are stupid AND the gov is evil basically
do you claim all the features I explained are not factual ?
ok for making device slim cheaper but it's not really removing the other points
i.e there is a whole bunch of issues for everyone with swappable batteries
so manufacturers just don't give a shit
it will take a long way to get swapable back (and I do want it too)
Removing power for a time will not cause data corruption as first point.
Unless it is years. And the same thing will happen with most things over those long durations even if powered on if not intentionally scrubbing.
The always listening doesn't hold water either.
Because when you turn at least most phones off, only thing they will keep powered on is the power button circuit.
User modding phones doesn't really hold water because you can still disassemble the phone and do that anyways, just needs tiny bit more skill, mostly more annoying than secure.
it's not only powering the power button mostly rn
it's at least also powering rtc and stuff
phones are designed to respond to pings
this also go along very deep sleep states which still respond to pings
(and I'm not really complaining about it, it is useful for lot of stuff like emergencies reporting etc..)
Any proof on that, that turned off phones respond to anything?
Because that would just kill the battery life when off compared to reality.
gms gps circuitry are listening on few mA
Qualcomm voice wake up modules listen with only few mA
not everything have to sink huge amount of power rn
radio beacons can lives for years with small batteries too
it's not going to allow any kind of very complex messaging but it can get pinged
this is obviously also an asset for corp agencies or both
it's a low power computing network at least
And again, do you have any actual source for that claim?
Because that would be very easy to measure happening on the phone PCB.
And all I can find are bad rumors.
each part can be found on their own in marketing materials (Qualcomm deep sleep listening module, beacons, and very low power gps and gms modules, also stuff like Bluetooth LE)
the 5g standard and phone standard mandated a lot of hardware assisted stuff for emergency notifying for instance
and phone have both a network and rtc wakeup path for notifications and alarm clock respectively
Deep Sleep is device On state.
The state it is when screen is off and nothing real going on.
All those are Device On features... Just with reduced power.
device state is mainly software defined
Qualcomm stuff is proprietary firmware level stuff
But still with the chips powered.
Again, any proof that ANY phone EVER has kept the wireless chip active in any way when it is turned off, but battery is in?
With any amount of power input to it.
Qualcomm also have a lot of tech part hates because of how cluttered and closer their stuff is
(and I like that it looks like backfiring a bit lately)
Or the main CPU either.
CPU have multiple parts, it's soc
no main cpu is powered for these modes
Because all in this list seems to be misunderstandings by conspiracy theorists.
but I get what you mean
Meant the WHOLE chip, ANY PART OF THE CHIP.
conspiracy theorist don't care about technicalities
calling whoever reptilian or idk what else sounds enough for them
I'm talking about actual technology baked in already
I had some genuis hanging out with a group of us once yapping about how he didn't trust the amazon echo device sitting there because it "spies" on us
All that stuff is WHY the phone is able to last week(s) when ON, but not used, with the various stuff active.
so i go... uhhh guess what pal
and started pointing out all the phones on the tables
mic, mic, mic, camera, camera, mic mic mic mic, camera
if they wanted to listen... they have been foir a LONG time
but i's alexa he's worred about lol
yes lets spy bia a niche item... or one virtually everybody has... which is more likely
chemtrailers are the worst... their theory doesn't even pass the first very basic test of logic...
ALEXA is actually active and recording.
Most phones aren't, only if someone external turns it into spying device.
Which has happened and noticed from the increased power consumption.
why use civilian aircraft when they have their own fleet of military aircraft that's much more secretive
Mostly state actors and spouses.
huurrr huurrrr
yes lets invovle countless civilians in our plot... or... use our own fleet of aircraft
as far as im concerned that theory is dead in the water just on that heh
Most phones have a "hey google" or "hey siri" just like an alexa
somebody reads about cloud seeding then next minute they think it's a conspiracy
well even if it didn't that's not the point
they are worried about the government or something
When On, and when enabled.
And most of those don't AFAIK actually send the recordings.
Alexa does.
in which case they don't need a wake word....
it just listens always... which is what they'd want
if you 're worried about amazon then... sure i guess
not sure why but ok... but no they were worried about the gooberment
And that has been confirmed that Alexa has been sending recording of each activation to Amazon.
And Amazon is about to completely remove toggle that could disable that.
and i mean if the right people wanna know what you have to say they can find out...
but joe redneck isn't on their radar heh
I'm sure the government is real concerned hearing you argue with your wife about forgetting to buy the "worshin powders"
So phones CAN record and send.
But don't unless hacked or like.
Alexa has been explicitly doing that to everyone since the start.
Any time it thinks it hears a command, it records and sends it to Amazon servers, unless explicitly disabled by account owner, and that disable is going to go away.
Ok, went away few days ago.
The problem with any mass consumer device having anything too devious is... people look over all that shit
so if the government was putting shit in phones somebody would figure that out pretty quick
I'm not having time currently to link you Qualcomm own marketing arguments
but they don't even hide that their stuff is meant to be controlled by nearest antenna
and only Sony Samsung etc have some hand on the modem firmware, they also do what they are told too
getting hand on independent 5g modules is extremely costly but also extremely complicated (it's basically military grade controlled market with private quotes and shut down of any other retailers like if resold on aliexpress or Amazon)
it also have multiple region version with " all but US" and "All but China" being the main ones "All period" being insanely hard to get
So phones CAN be danger.
Alexa has been known to be active danger for years at this point, with actual proof.
I've seen people worried about tech since... forever lol
And all that stuff is when the phone is on, but in power saving mode...
If it was active during off, that would be trivial to prove with disassembled phone and oscilloscope.
Or even multimeter.
again I'm not claiming conspiracy
I'm claiming they are designed to get wakeup on some special events
and again, I'm not even claiming it's a bad thing
but it's part of why battery would be expected to not be easily removable
Shit Juas Priest was writing about this kinda shit in 1982... Electric Eye
And being capable of that would mean power going into places it doesn't go when power is off.
Which was the point that it would be trivial to prove that the specific chips are getting power, and are using to listen.
No matter how closed source firmware, or black box design.
"Always in focus. You can't feel my stare. I zoom into you. But you don't know I'm there"
Pretty sure that was around the time the UK was rolling out CCTV shit
(which is where they're from)
And look at it now... they can identify known faces heh
So unless you actually bring some proof, that isn't bad take on marketing material, then I will keep saying you are spouting a conspiracy theory around.
Because that would be so trivial to prove to reasonable degree.
heh that video of that new security they were doing at a couple of airports and dude comes up in the system with his photo and all and they're wondering how they have their face
like bro... drivers license? hello? mcfly?
Also the lets us fingerprint your l;ittle kids in case they're abducted... riiiight
heh... not concinved that has ever helped
but they sure do have a lot of prints now in case those folks do some gloveless crimes later!
And for few tens of thousands you could get specific type of testing done on the phones chips to see exactly which parts of the chips are active, even in lower power state, inside the dies.
and I didn't arg against that
I only argued against the "it would have been known" as : offline powered circuits is expected
rtc and power button circuitry
being the most obvious ones
But point is that almost anyone at home could prove that the radio receiver chip is getting power when the device is off.
And there is tech you could get commercial lab to use on the phone to see which exact parts are active in any of the chips on the phone.
Or the main SOC etc.
scopes can see some interesting things
And nothing.
Just conspiracy theories.
people will use that black epoxy shit to conceal components in boutique electronics... kinda pointless
you can scope out exactly what's in there heh
except certain details like diode type or somethinb but ehhh that's where you try both common types and see which sounds closest
germanium clipping diodes def have a sound
I mean I will search details later but you will never find anything if searching for anything alarming
I'm / will simply search for power delivery circuit state details, Qualcomm chip integration docs and marketing etc etc
I mostly seen what I'm talking about from Qualcomm hardware capabilities details
That Alexa recording to Amazon servers has been all over the news multiple times since Alexa came out.
For phones doing stuff when off, nothing except random forums with absolutely no proof.
Just same rumors going around and around.
For 7+ years.
That was just as example of "alarming"
That if the thing is actual, it WILL get to some news.
Or someone WILL post actual testing, even on some random forum that then will get all over.
In the similar line of things
I expected the AMD ryzen jailbreak to exist way before news
it's only logical and it's easy to guard against exploit using it
And again, as actually TESTING for that would be trivial to get at least clue it would be POSSIBLE, but no such results anywhere.
But I'm off to bed.
Also, lot of phones etc. circuit diagrams have leaked over the years to specialist sites.
I'd be more interested in detecting any transmissions... with some of the wavelengths used now detecting something going on based on power use could be nye impossible
you can do a lot with 1/4 watt and that takes almost no power to generate
btw doesn't lion battery sensitive to temperature changes even when not used ? which in some cases would require monitoring for safety ?
never good for them to get too hot
But heat itself externally isn't as dangerous as the internal heat
I mean they get shipped in containers that sit in the sun and get unbearably hot inside
I've had the fortune of dealing with that
"While older batteries were prone to overcharging, it’s impossible with lithium-ion technology."
I don't love finding "experts" online
Well it is safer than what we had when i was a kid
nickel cadmium
those had the charge "memory" you had to deal with too
a lot of people used to those cells from back then ruined lithium cells by fully discharging them to reset the memory... which lithium doesn't suffer from
But the big big danger with lithium cells is over discharge, battery gets hot internally, fails... enters thermal runaway
not overdischarge but overcurrent
I should film what happens if I pull about 30A from a 18650 meant for flashlights and rated for 10A continuous lol
It's kinda like foreworks but more dangerous 😄
its fireworks but not in the sky
well i mean... i could get it up in the sky if i really wanted
it's one of my arguments against the ultra safety political argumenst : only education and skill makes anything secure
open your car hood and short you car battery with a metal bar
skill level : very easy
danger : extremely high
dive on a pavement
skill level : very easy
danger : extremly high
Car batteries are fun
There's a halloween gag you can do with a car battery, a chainsaw with the chain removed and some metal like a fence/cage etc
ground teh cage, positive lead to the guard
dive in water while not being able to swim
skill level : very easy
danger : extemely high
as soon as you rake it on the bars it LOOKS like the chain is on the mofo lol
damn forgot the bot
"On a supported iPhone, turning on the Find My network allows you to locate your iPhone for up to 24 hours after it’s turned off, or up to 5 hours when it’s in power reserve mode."
from official iphone apple website
support.apple.com/guide/iphone/add-your-iphone-iph9a847efc7/ios
At least one example of nowhere near hardware off from Apple
I'm pretty sure samsung is guilty of it too
though I have practical hints that opposite is true for some sony phones (more legit longterm battery feedback, and more stuff disabled when phone is off (no alarm wakeup for instance)
samsung phones are pretty hostile too when it comes to firmware and software bloat/restriction/designs
yea, i had to get mine during lockdown, so the only option was to get an unlocked S10, & it being my first unlocked phone, it's so nice
Did you all heard that Microsoft nuked the oobe\bypassnro for W11?
yup
They trying to combat local accounts. But there are still ways.
You can edit registry to enable the script again if I read correctly.
like someone in the ars technica comments section said, it's prepping to go to a subscription model by taking that step
Also, no more blue screen of death.
There are still ways. Even if they go for subscription model. There are still ways 😄
oh definitely
And I think they know that. Nonetheless, still possible they go for it. But I suspect they might add it to W12 or whatever they call it.
people have managed to keep Yugos on the road, i'm sure there are ways to avoid a sub
remember when they advertised win10 as their last OS?
They once said that? 🤣
oh yea, they said that all future updates were just gonna be adding in security & functionality to win10
Hahaha, like to see that happen.
they've kinda done it with Office
Every version is an excuse for Microsoft to say version x is no longer supported. Go pay up again
A subscription would "fix" that.
yup
mine dosent even trigger anymore lol
i am not surprised
along with the rest of the system? 😄
512 kilobytes outta be enough for anybody
was it gates that said they'd never have the need to do a 64 bit OS?
not sure about that one... the 512 kilobytes is oft misquoted though and becomes he said enough forever and all time or something, in the context of that era he was correct
My first IBM compatible system only had 256kb
and a 360kb floppy
Tandy 1000 EX. Had an expansion port inside youi got to by sliding part of the top off, wasn't obvious that you could just slide it right off
never did use the expansion but it was a great place to hide various things from the parental units when i was a teen lol
was viscuous fingering already been discussed?
o.O
grabbed a piece of paper from my parents 🤣 it's the receipt for a part from my dad's old job, and i think it's the only page in existence that has both his name & the company's name on it that have nothing to do with him working there.
how would you say 150kb is enough ??
I have literally multiple MB of ASCII text I wrote myself
they were probably lazy back then
Ok, that is legit then for those supported iPhones.
But with significant time limits because of the extra power draw, to not kill the battery.
ngl it still being on when you turn it off feels like a lie
Well, for anything without two-state power button it will be lie to some extent.
howdy nerds!
niche question while I wait (i'm here to wait for the 1.1 experimental drop)
anyone in here happen to have links to a nice write-up for spoofing certificates in TLS (1.2) connections using mitmproxy/mitmweb or something similar for connections that auto-reject generated certs for mitm/burp?
Or just replace the certificate the dedi uses with real one?
https://old.reddit.com/r/SatisfactoryGame/comments/1feuzfb/dedicated_server_tls_setup/
OH, sorry, this is actually off topic. it's a general question. It's my first time testing API vulnerability in a program (not satisfactory), the actual certificates aren't available. So i'm stuck on setting up the environment still
Ok, just expected this was about setting dedicated server for experimental with that caveat about self-signed certs.
nah, just messing around with a bug bounty that's way out of my normal range of experience
most annoying part of earbuds is when the rubber cup thingies get stuck in your ear
this is a thousand times more involved than anything I've ever seen discussed here, sadly
No 💀
Yes. I hate question marks in titles.
This deep and insightful investigation unveils years of evidence relating to "AI" and its alleged buzzword status. Like this video for the eventual 10-hour version.
This video is going to be absolutely awful for channel metrics and health, so you should set it to 0.5x and walk away for 20 minutes. But we ...
Yes
The funniest shit about AI is legislators struggling to find a definition
Take the EU's AI regulation for example:
Basically any automation system is AI according to their definition
I play satisfactory on ultra graphics, while it may sound crazy that I complain the noise it's same when I play minecraft, because then it also sounds like a jet.
I have to always put it on quiet mode, but then my laps where I put the laptop gets hotter than the sun.
Does anyone know the cause of it, I got this laptop like 1-3 days ago
The game stressing both CPU and GPU near to max.
And lot of laptops don't have cooling for that, with designers having expected only one to be stressed at a time.
Consider a perforated laptop stand maybe? It's been a while since I've gamed on anything mobile.
should I be concerned about the heat? Or does it have something like auto shut, if it gets too hot?
I am planning on buying one, do you have a recommendation?
And with perforated laptop stand, are you referring to those stands that just elevate your laptop`?
Usually no, CPU and/or GPU will just throttle when needed.
Will impact how long the battery lasts before it doesn't hold charge anymore.
Do you mean when I have to charge, or when it gets damaged
Li-Ion batteries degrade over time, even when not used.
And how fast that happens depends on temperature and level of charge.
In addition to charge and discharge cycles or amounts.
wait
you are playing the game while having your laptop on your laps ?
Anything to allow airflow and heat dissipation so your system doesn't have to struggle so much.
Idk what is out there, but I bet etsy has some 3d printed solutions.
do you now how much a new battery costs about?
Right now I have opera gx and discord open
Yes sadly, until I get a laptop stand.
After I get one I will put the stand on my bed and play like that
-# I made 50 typos while trying to type lmao
Need to be raised for the bottom intakes to be free from obstructions...
By anything.
You cannot play at a table?
you could put it on a table you know 😉
(unless you cant)
nah, except you want me to play at the kitchen while my neighborhood watches me play Satisfactory
Then just put something hard under the laptop?
Including for example the box it came in.
More fresh air for the cooling fans, yeah.
Avoid those stands with built in fans tho - they won't push extra air into the laptop but if they're slower than the laptop fans, they'll actually block airflow
i actually used to do that
it worked !
Does Etsy have a free library of 3d designs? Cuz if not, I remember thingiverse being a thing for finding free 3d printing models
Cloth is very good at covering ventilation holes - so don't do that
But it would still block the airflow?? OR what do you mean, that big box?
No idea. I was more so meaning physical prints.
yes, it would to a degree
but much less than your beds faric
Point is for the laptops own bottom feet to have something to sit on.
A rigid flat surface (like a table) blocks less than a squishy flat surface (like a blanket)
To get that designed small gap under the laptop for inflow air.
You're basically stuffing your laptop's air intake with other stuff
And to nobody's surprise, a choking cooler can't cool
I try putting my one leg to the middle and the one just somewhere random (not the holes)
?
now it's like harder to play yk I kind of have to lean
If it's not being held up by the feet, the holes will be blocked fyi
Do you have a desk and chair?
nah my room has no place like absolutely
but I plan on reworking with my brother (we share rooms)
also do you know by any chance why the lenovo blocked the middle airflow
Because there is nothing there to intake air?
Unless it's held up in an area where there are no vent slots - which is tough to do properly
They probably have fans on left and right.
Because there actually isn't any airflow there
The vents aren't for air to flow, they're for the fans to draw in air
ohh okayy
that explains the noise lmao
yall think this good
Simple design, doubt it's shit quality.
Ergonomics is smth you'll have to find out for yourself
ergonomics meaning
is that sm good or bad
is it like how efficient to use itß
also after the stand shpuld I still be concerned about the noise
hold onnn
Headphones bb
that iPad box I used, can't I use the box on one of my leg so it has very yy much room to airintake
abit wobbly but yeah
HOLD ON
WHY IS MY LAPTOP SO QUIET
nvm it started to launch
but not as bad
it's like 100% quieter
i allready know im not going to be able to get anything done today so now im just hunting for the april fools memes
lmao
theres the realisation 😂
Comfort mainly. Basically: how does it feel to use? Are you an uncomfortable position? Do you need to twist your joints weirdly to use it? Etc
Does it stay usable if you move, or will it collapse.
I mean because of my laptop being high up it kind of hurts VERY TINY bit on my hand
but else it's good thanks for the help guys
@foggy tangle This is getting weirder not even touching it I snapped it just after the error
Will do just reinstalling it see if thats solves itif not will send
@foggy tangle
It loads other saves just not this one
so only one save can't load up, right?
yeah
can I get the error log?
[unrelated]
But HD2's native AA looks like FSR 3.1 performance mode at 1080p lol
I believe you got timedout after 120 seconds?
So my save is too big to be loaded in time?
how much GB is it even?
The save file is 10.4 MB
so nothing much right?
it doesn't have any form of TAA
oh
it DOES
its just super shit
GPU (driver) crashed in way that didn't crash the game, and then render thread timed out.
weird that it doesn't even have DLSS then
^^ yeah, I would say extend the timeout time to see if it's slow
"unsupported engine"
and "content or DLSS which one do you all want ?"
thats from their CEO.
But make that #1038092680493801533 thread, this isn't Satisfactory tech support.
dlss takes an evening to implement if you already have taa
so does FSR
oh, did i mention that they have FSR 1 in the game ?
that's just a literal upscaler lmao
it's fancy lanczos
a hyper optimised form of lanczos with fewer ringing artefacts
well its garbage coupled with more garbage (TAA) means total garbage !!
yeah garbage in garbage out
yeah,
like FSR 2 was out YEARS before the game came out
and they added FSR 1 ?????
FSR2 is a good form of TAA that uses hand made algorithms rather than neural networks like DLSS2
though FSR2 also uses FSR1 to sharpen itself up
yeah, i know
same with FSR 3.1 !
*CAS
DLSS2+ and FSR4 have heavy compute requirements but the payoff is superb image quality
you can also include XeSS DP4A AND XMX
even SSAA 2X doesnt look great (at 1080p)
i think FSR AA would look better
and DLAA would definetely llook better
supersampling to give double or even quadruple the samples for every pixel just isn't enough
not when modern TAA (ie DLSS) is using 16 past frames to draw its conclusions from
i think fsr2 uses that many too
you have subreddits like /r/FuckTAA bitching about it, but it really is the best option
because most games force you into either using dlss, fsr etc or TAA with no option for native now
well
i think SSAA Does actually look better than DLAA/FSR AA when it isnt coupled with garbage AA
its only real flaw is that it costs WAY TOO MUCH.
cause native would look shit
i thought TAA was native

you take any modern game with all the shader effects up the arse and you run it without any AA, no TAA, no upscaling, just one pixel one sample, it'll be a noisy mess
well, yeah, cuz those efffects rely on TAA blending frames together.
people my age remember when half life 2 got by just fine with MSAA but that has the most basic material shaders possible
Ram OC is no longer a valid form of OC frfr
and MSAA don't do shit for reflections, specular highlights etc
well
it cant smear though
thats the advantage of spatial AA
true; it just won't be temporally coherent at all
and you do need rather a lot of it to approach what TAA can give you
games worked quite nicely without TAA for a really long time
its just that moder rendering was designed with TAA in mind
it's also that shaders were so much simpler
we got characters with individually textured pores with specular highlights, you need some way of doing AA on that
MSAA wouldn't touch it
OH YAY
now i can see Aloys tiny face fur
YIPEEEE
PROGRESS !!
anyway
im just jokin'
According to EU, my Roomba is AI since it's automated lol
It hasn't learned how to acquire a knife though
*yet
’AI system’ means a machine-based system that is designed to operate with varying levels of autonomy and that may exhibit adaptiveness after deployment, and that, for explicit or implicit objectives, infers, from the input it receives, how to generate outputs such as predictions, content, recommendations, or decisions that can influence physical or virtual environments;
So yeah, roombas are AI
I have an older model which I am not really sure if it contains any AI features. New models most likely have them (haven't really researched roomba products lately)
Noticed it keeps cleaning the same path where it passed though multiple times. Not sure if that's by design or something else
Sometimes it only goes through a specific path only once
Even if it's a dumb Roomba that mindlessly goes straight and rotates a random amount if it bumps into smth, one could still argue that it matches that definition
Guess my nephew is AI then
*with the exception that he cries when he bumps into something
Is he machine-based?
Hm.
Would Wolfram Alpha count as an AI?
No
wait, holup
A solar powered calculator is an AI system by this definition
Oh, missed that part of the definition lol
Although one could argue a cyborg is partially machine-based 🤔
- Machine-based system? Check
- Designed to operate with varying levels of autonomy? Theoretically infinite - tho idle unless it registers an input
- may exhibit adaptiveness after deployment? No, but it's optional, so still check.
- that infers [...] from the input it receives, how to generate outputs? Check-ish. It generates the output based on predetermined rules, idk if that counts as "infers how to generate outputs"
Give him one of those heart-replacement pump implants - still don't know if that makes him machine-based tho
I guess you could make human "AI-powered" with cybernetic implants at best but never purely AI because it's obviously not
I wonder if you could call someone an AI if you managed to upload their mind somehow
If they retained personality, it's definitely not AI but in other cases it might be
Actually, there is term for this: Uploaded intelligence
I sometimes wonder if they really measure this.
The gap between bottom of laptop and whatever the laptop is sitting on, and how that effects airflow and cooling performance.
It's hard to find a good image, but on the macbook pro, there is barely any space between bottom and table.
It is often 1-3mm.
That sounds so small for airflow 😒 No wonder they have overheating problems
actually, what counts as a "machine"?
could a net of differently weighted electrical connections count as a machine even tho it's made from biomass?
I would define it as a complex device which was made with a specific function or multiple functions although it's difficult to define when something becomes complex
For an example, scissors can't be defined as a machine but a radio could
well, there are two cases you want to exclude from the definition:
- biological life
- fully deterministic hardcoded automation
by that definition, is a human brain a machine?
it definitely is complex, but is it a device? was it made? is there an intended functionality?
Yeah, I agree you would have to include non-biological in a description
then what would you consider a neuron array?
You mean, human neuron array?
I wouldn't consider anything biological a machine btw
But I think I understand at what you are hinting. Some people like to describe complex systems as a "machine" while others think of metalic devices when talking about machines
anything fully autonomous on its own with no pre-dertermined inputs
except every AI system has to have a set of pre-determined input channels - that's how they operate.
They need to have some way of retrieving input data in order for them to process it
and if you meant no pre-determined outputs, then that would also exclude ChatGPT - just ask it to give you bomb schematics
then none of it is true ai
if you have to give it anything other than its own code its not ai
there are electode arrays on top of which you can grow, stimulate and measure biological neurons - these arrays can then be trained and later used for certain tasks
The Thought Emporium is trying to make a neuron array like that and get it to run doom
that's not my point. if you want to regulate AI, you need to find a definition for it.
and that definition will either include things that aren't AI or not include things that are
your definition "no pre-determined inputs" is nonsensical because there are many non-AI system that accept inputs which haven't been hardcoded
and "no pre-determined outputs" is also nonsensical because an AI system can have pre-determined outputs and still be AI
I'll give you this definition:
"a non-biological system that accepts inputs and generates non-predetermined outputs"
denying you bomb schematics means nothing
which is still very much wonky
if you asked me to show you how my answer would be no as well
does this mean im not sentient?
no it means im not a dumbass that's about to help somebody blow an arm off or kill somebody
🙂
it is a pre-determined output. if the definition of AI is "no pre-determined outputs", it doesn't fit
that's the point
it's a terrible definition is what it is
no...the answer to that is always no
and a perfect example to show that it's a shitty definition
First time I'm hearing about this and it sounds crazy lol. I suppose you are talking about this https://youtu.be/bEXefdbQDjw?si=5WFjNfLOgnrtsS9U

Meatcubator: https://youtu....
ding ding ding, correct
that's the whole fucking point
usually people looking to make explosives are looking for trouble...been my experience anyhow
yup
then im not sentient... according to that logic
becuase i have a pre-determined repsonse to an answer...
I guess you could call the device itself a machine even though it contains biological matter
*to a question
well, two things:
- we're talking about AI, not sentience
- the entire fucking point was to show that "no pre-determined outputs" is a bullshit definition
which you have just proven yet again
AI would lead to sentience
by making the same point as me
would it?
they are one in the same... you'll see soon enough
me... i might live that long we'll see :
so what's your definition of AI?
"a non-biological system capable of sentience?"
what's sentience?
no, this is where I ask you to contribute to the discussion
because the entire thing started with a shitty definition of what AI is
im just saying an AI denying yo u the answer to something means nothing
that oculd be pre-determined, maybe not
and it's been about finding different definitions
THAT WAS THE WHOLE POINT
it might be, as me, simply not an idiot that will tell somebody how they can easily blow their arm off or kill folks
to show that the definition provided by MagicZ is dumb
My point reminds, being denied information does not prove it was a pre-determined repsonse.
*remains
okay, now I get what you mean
i could just assume that about anything it says
if even if ask how it feels... that may or may not be a pre-canned response
I doubt they're yet capable of feeling
if any of you are around in another 50 years... just remember the old heads tried to tell ya it was going to get real scary 🙂
asked ChatGPT about itself, the answer was along the lines of "I don't have pre-determined responses, but I have pre-determined rules by which I adjust my answers"
well the entire thing is rules
even an answer to how it feels could be supplied based on how it was programmed to begin with
heh - and then there are the even older heads with even less of a clue of how things work
and they will define "AI" so poorly that it includes shit like Wolfram Alpha and Roombas
Well "AI" has existed since I was a kid
It could be stripped down to mean anything that shows any sign of intelligence
even basic path finding
the path isn't pre-programmed, it figures it out right... so that is a form of artificial intelligence
it all circles back to what your intentions are with the definition.
in this case, it's to create a legal framework in which systems like ChatGPT have to operate and what users have to consider
a turing machine is AI
The intelligence people are after now is... well just more advanced really since they want something completely autonomous
to program it and unleash it and it does thr est
they want a system that replaces human thought
anyways, if you were an EU legislator trying to regulate AI, what definition would you use?
My company recently organized a workshop on how to use an AI (didn't attend it because I was busy unfortunately). My colleague attended the workshop and now she is in panic mode because she thinks AI will kill us like in terminator movies 🤣
what if natural human intelligence kills us first like in uhhhhhhh most other action movies?
That will happen for sure
that's one explanation to the fermi paradox
if other life is like us they destroy themselves before they travel to the stars
or they get to the point where they'd rather keep to themselves than announce to everyone around that they're there
Pretty limited view but we only have us as an example so far...
But the reason we won't stop with the AI until we get sentience is... well should be obvious
we want to become gods
I completely agree with Fireworker we will kill ourselves first before we get an advanced Skynet like AI
Well either the AI eventually... or something like anti matter
For an advanced enough AI we're just in the way heh
And anti matter is just scary stuff if you were to ever collect enough of it at once
and in a sense: wouldn't humans creating skynet be the same as humans setting off a global nuke?
i believe it's pretty much a 1:1 energy conversion
both atoms are destroyed releasing all of their energy heh
Kinda makes a nuke seem like a firecracker
Especially when the other half of the fuel is the target heh
If you mean by the end result, yes. We would all be dead in the end lol
nukes aren't even as scary as people think
makes one wonder: if the rules of physics don't have a preference towards matter or anti-matter, then why does our universe have one?
scary yes, not as bas as people think though
Not scary if you are at ground zero since you won't even have time to perceive pain or realise what happened 😅
no, I meant it as "humans build something that goes out of control too quickly and eventually wipes out all of humanity"
with the only difference being that with a nuke, the loss of control is intentional
Secondary damage... that's what'll get folks there. Like if it's big enough of a war the cloud
gonna get real cold...everywhere
well most damage would be localized to the target, airburst means the fallout disperses fairly well with the weather
Plus it could end up being tactical nukes anyhow with nobody launching the big boys
like everybody knows the outcome of full on nuclear war
I'd say Skynet scenario would be worse here since it would be really hard to control and you would not expect it to happen
While with nukes you know exactly what will happen
runaway fission is also really hard to control - except it's expected behavior unlike an AI going rogue
Don't know much about physics but I guess it's hard to control a nuke once you start a reaction if that's what you are referring to
the point of a nuke is that at some point the reaction goes critical and you get runaway fission - which is also incredibly uncontrollable
and the fun part is sometimes the fission part of a weapon is only there to start a fusion reaction 😄
with the nuke we know that it will happen and we intend for it to happen
with Skynet, we don't intend to
but those weapons once the reaction is started it's a done deal
with do not have the tech or knowledge to stop that
food for thought
That's how nuts human are... oh look nuclear fission isn't enough lets make a fusion bomb that just uses fission to kick st art it weeeeee
also as far as I know there isn't anything that says there can't be anti matter universes
that's what I meant
as far as physics is concerned, matter or antimatter doesn't matter, the rules don't prefer one over the other
yet our universe very clearly does

This bomb is theorical though and hope it doesn't really exist
the problem with an anti mattter universe is while the universe might not care how things work inside it do
But just like dark matter we don't really know exact wtf it is
We might be real lucky we aren't anti mattter dominated, might not be compatible with life and surely wouldn't be compatible with how we're made
What gets me with anti matter is that it seems like something that doesn't actually belong here at all...But here we are collecting as much as we resonably can to study it 🙂
Selling antimatter! Only $62,5 trillion per gram!
I really like Kurzgesagt, but the clicky bate thumbnails get me 🤣
So I haven't watched a video in a while, they are interesting, but I know it's always exaggerated
What was the video about the space elevator, was that from Kurz? It was all hypotheticals.
Well, mixed with science I guess.
nvidias market share is increasing again with the new steam survey
by a lot already by 10%
Halfway the video "So now, can we actually build one? It's hard to say" ...
So first half of the video is just ... talk. And then second half of the video is just ... scientific guessing.
there was a similar peak early on that went down
Hehe, I just read an article in the newspaper: "Gates in prison go open sometimes by software bug"
you would never see such a huge swing that fast, let alone one that swung back the next month
My country has it's priorities so fucking messed up.
maybe it's run by ai
Probably.
Haha, it's random doors at random times 🤣
So even the guards don't know what door will open when hahahaha
Atleast it keeps them on their toes.
this just seems like an excuse to try and justifier guards doing nothing most the time by making them actually do stuff
its almost like free practice
"if the guards hear a click, they need to find the door that opened, then barricade that door with a wooden beam untill door is locked again, else inmates can just walk out"
Someone in the comments asked why the doors have handle on the side of the prisoner, which is for cases of emergency, like fire.
ok... semi noob here, sorry if im in the wrong place... how many water extractors do I need per charcoal generators? I have 9 generators total, I've read that 1 is sufficient for 3 gens but i seem to not keep the 3 generator with enough water

Genuine question. Whats going on in china? Jumping 20% is insane.
you don't need average of average
and doing that is the definition of adding a layer ignoring any care for efficiency
if you write software like this for a long time you basically did it the duck tape way for a long time
I'm tired of these a** not actually reading any messages and explaining everyone they understood what an average is like if it responded to anything someone else said
and while saying themselves it's not efficient at all
while what I was talking about is literally multiple thousands times more efficient
oh and btw the "rush to be right" is continuing my explanation of what I was suggesting BEFORE THEY EVEN CAME TO TALK TO ME
and telling them what they say does not respond to what I said in anyway while they ping me
Ngl fuck that gaslightin and projecting
I gotta tell you I've seen and done a lot of fancy controller stuff for big/extreme reactors with the computer mods in modpacks... but really the easiest is both the most elegant and totally efficient at controlling the rods
and only takes a rednet computer, one cable and the reactor port heh
well it's not a rednet computer it's a rednet controller, big difference heh
unfortunately i was never able to get it to cooporate with active reactors and a bunch of turbines, just too much going on at that point
https://youtu.be/LrS4PKDln0E?si=7w8AApsAQ18pxibL
Hmmm
If only someone was saying that this is not anomaly but a trend, that there's indeed something wrong in the north
Hmmm indeed
The Arctic region has been a massive store of carbon for thousands of years. Now it's warming between 3 and 7 times faster than the global average and that carbon is escaping into our atmosphere. The latest research suggests that more than a third of it is now a net emitter! And in case you're wondering...that's NOT good!

Fucking obnoxious. Now I need an adblocker for fcking discord too.
I guess I need Pihole.
Also disabled.
This is some corpo bullshit.
I think I might trash the discord client. And go for webclient + ad filtering.
Bro, it's even in my settings wtf.
How is this not intrussive
Even if it's discord bullshit.
I think it’s April fools
Day too late.
Some of my friends had it yesterday so it could be
it's an april fools telling you to touch grass. but make no mistake, it is a harbinger of things to come
Also got it one day too late.
i got it yesterday
April Fools, wtf. 🤨
This is some next level brainwashing Discord is doing. If people don't click the link, you wont even know. (like me, I never click on ads).
got 5 minutes until Nintendo starts there try not to say AI challenge
im very intrigued to see if there going to take the ai bait or not
my guess is no unless they randomly introduce something like frame generation
Well. Just canceled my Nitro. I absofuckinglutely will not be PAYING for ads on any service.
So far they haven't put up a fuss. Just a simple email saying if I wanted to reactivate blah blah blah.
Or just previously mentioned error.
what do you guys think of this prediction ?
I'd say closer to 95% on that chart
Which is ironic given that the 100% mark is for the card that we're trying to predict the performance of
So it'll always be 100% on the chart, just all the other numbers will change
And that chart is just based on theoretical FLOPS.
Yeah, which we all know is a dead-accurate spec by which to judge performance
Which isn't, which is why that chart is very misleading very often.
That's the joke
-# I should really use tone indicators more often
/s helps a lot on Internet.
i ain't watching it and i advise nobody else does
do not reward the click bait
If it weren't kurzgesagt, I'd guess it relates to the impeachment and its aftermath
Let's wait until I get home and DeArrow has a de-clickbaited version for me
okay but that doesn't mean the whole country is over
this is too much
unsubscribe
all it's missing is a mrbeast face on the thumbnail
Can be if it means that there's societal turmoil brewing
if that's the standard then they should do THE USA IS OVER
But yeah, hella bait, don't reward
Actually, it will. With how much they claim to focus on spreading positivity and hopeful news
Fun fact:
After both times that Faker won LoL Worlds back-to-back, Trump got elected president and the South Korean prime minister was impeached
Oh nooooes
Ermahgurd Earth is over!
If only
No more nvidia driver problems for me
Now I'll have AMD driver problems
Power connector of my 4090 after roughly 2.5 years. About 5-10 replugs I think
connector aside from what I was gathering the problems with the power delivery go past the plug, in some cases from what I was seeing it enters into the land of this doesn't even make sense why you'd do it like this
Even with a flawless history on the connector it still doesn't work
(at least not if you do it how nvidia wants
And the other part of the connection?
GPU side has a stronger plastic than the cable plug
My issue isn't even the connector itself, issues t here can easily be ironed out...
No visible damage, dont have pic. It's now plugged to the 5090
Although the fact they want to ONLY use that style is.. i dunno
Wonder how many AMD cards will use that connector with it being an option...
Looks like this 9950X3D cant do 6400MT/s with 1.25 Vsoc 😢 6200 it is then
About 50% chance of that like I said long ago.
But also using lower VDDP than auto uses might help.
Yeah i remember, but that was for 9800X3d which can do it
2 CPUS and 50% is then spot on for this test batch 🤣

My laptop is stuck in the passcode screen, I don’t want to force shutoff (click the button on your keyboard), any fixes?
The reason I don’t want to is, that I believe it harms your components, so I always hold shift before shutting it off
I fixed it
god Nintendo just dropped so many nukes in one day
Any FC25 players in here?
that’s off topic
Oh my god 😮 I ask a off topic in a off topic channel? Crazy stuff.
Anyway, nephew had issues playing FC25 online. Think we figured out what's going on.

this is the tech channel
not the #off-topic-general
channel.
#off-topic-tech still off-topic-tech
And the issue was technical. So not sure what you all tripping about.
ctl+alt+delete
Whats FC25?
I know I fixed it with that, but what does it do?
that soccer game
Oh
What used to be FIFA until FIFA decided that EA is too unethical of a company for them to do business with
Just a windows bug, there's an option to enable that to make it harder for a pc to accidentally get unlocked and windows just does it on ocassion
If it's happened once you'll probably start to see it a lot
So fifa quite partnership with ea?
Yup
Nice
That's why it's EA FC 2025 now
Ea needs to fucking die
If FIFA of all the organizations in the world is the one that decides that EA is unhealthy to do business with (presumably from an ethics standpoint), then that should be a pretty strong indication of how fucked up EA is as a company
Ironically: FIFA ending the partnership means that EA is no longer paying them to use the naming rights
They are trying to put ads in games which we have already paid $70-80+ for already just to be able to play.
So unless FC25 sale numbers are much lower than they would've been as FIFA 25, EA is actually making money
I try to actively avoid any games involving ea
Honestly, the much bigger issue is them literally making children addicted to gambling
That too
Loot boxes need to be labeled as gambling
Or just made straight up illegal
Neither. gambling legislation needs to include lootboxes
Not outright banning but not deregulating either
Im honestly tired of all the micro transactions in games
I pay for base game and dlc. Thats it
It doesn't matter if you lose half your playerbase. You just need to get that one percent hooked and addicted
Strict morals, while noble, will eventually cause you to miss out on great games
Most of the great games ive been into lately have been small studio games that aren’t linked to big corpo
Helldivers 2 is a great example of how to do live service right:
Past season pass content is available for all time and finishing a season pass usually gives you enough premium currency to buy the next one
And the base game is not as expensive as many other AAA games
Also recently, ive been getting whatever games i want to play on gog if available there.
It's a shame that their publisher fucked them over hard tho
A game can be great and relatively cheap. Not many(if anyone) are asking them to put in 8k ultra realistic graphics. I just want good gameplay and story.
Good graphics are nice but not a necessity for me.
Dyson sphere program is a good example
Good graphics can upgrade good gameplay but can't fix bad gameplay
Then you got devs that somehow make a modern game worse than a game from 2008 that had a smaller budget
It's corporatization vs passion
There are many MANY shitty games from 2008, no one ever remembers them tho
The ones that sticked did so because they were the best of their time
And you're comparing generic modern stuff to the best of the best from a previous era
Portal 2 Coop vs It Takes Two
Who would win that?
Tough choice, personally I'd go for It Takes Two
Most modern games from big corpo now a days are shit. I stick to older games now or small studio games.
No, see, AI will make NPC dialogues more versatile.
Instead of selecting from a dozen pre-recorded options, it generates some random crap and picks from the first few equally nonsensical options.
Much better, really worthwhile as an upgrade /s
Ai for stuff like that is fine(mostly) i just dont want this frame gen ai upscaling crap.
For nvidia, both use ai and are shit at it
DLSS is the best realtime upscaling algorithm I've ever seen
I aint using it. I want real performance
There are legitimate usecases, tho it's primarily upscaling
Optimization and playtesting costs time, staff and money
What of frame gen? Its not even linked to the game so latency is the exact same as a lower fps
So a jello effect is created
frame gen no, upscaling yes
Framegen is bogus for anything that relies on reaction time or fast paced inputs
But it's decent for cinematic graphics
I dont want it in games at all.
dlss upscaling is a real good form of AA that not much else can beat for performance versus quality. frame generation can eat my entire ass
Upscaling, i can kinda see.
Then disable it
I'd probably put it on for games like ANNO or CIV
I'm not really a fan of how it's branded as upscaling when you can still run at full resolution with it, but now it's called DLAA
the core tech is good
Many frames? No
But I'd rather crank up the settings and go 50 native to 70 AI than use 50 native or lower settings
the one use for frame gen I have is satisfactory, where lumen gets me 80fps, I can use frame gen to turn that into 72 doubled to 144, and it makes building feel smoother. crucially, satisfactory is not a shooter. hell I turn it off when I go exploring and hard drive hunting
Yup, exactly
that's an exceptionally narrow use case
anything where you shoot things, absolutely not
Anything where you don't need to react quickly or precisely chain inputs
and most people don't use it to go from 72 to 144, they go from 40 to 80. nuh uh. bad
Wouldn't even run it for AoE if that tanked fps
or 30 to 120 with MFG
eat my entire ass
also with satisfactory building I'm not whipping my camera all over the place and seeing frame gen artefacts
i don't use it in any other game
the idea of buying a gpu specifically to get DLSS frame gen is lunacy
i generally use it to go from like 20fps to 35-60fps
but i play primarily casual games so im use to it
madman
ah yes evil beamng drive
magicz are you literally radioactive
i might be
i found a ladybug dead on my pc
could have died of radiation... nerver know
iirc ladybugs in chornobyl got darker as a mutation to make them capable of absorbing more radiation
Radioactive Lady Bugs with Laser Beam Eyes from Outter Space
frickin sharks with frickin lasers attached to their frickin heads
wait really? 🤔

Gosh dang it
Something's borked with my pc
Using Aquasuite and HWinfo to run case top fans depending on DRAM spd temperatures. Dual Rank DDR5 48GB sticks still get hot.
Testing these
Got it back. It had been asleep overnight, came back to wake it up and it started bootlooping, did that for a few minutes and then full bios reset
xmp turned off, rebar turned off, etc
Strange
I just saved BIOS settings profile to USB disc if need to clear CMOS when playing with memory
I should, I lost my saved memory tune and pbo curves
But confident that these settings might work. 2h pubg and 5 hours Karhu memtest passed
great i get to be the one giving out tips for once
Nah, it's all good 😉
alright see you when you break something else
Year of Rabbit went already.
That R in the middle.
IIRC should be GSE this year? Great Snake Edition?
i might as well just buy a 7800 XT

i just dont wanna buy a GPU after that tarrif thing goes by
it won't be good

i don't quite like how this is presented. core count is just a number. relative performance to the top end would have been better imo
hmm
well AMD doesnt seem to be skimping THAT much
(just a thing i put together for fun)
the relative % is based off of core count
i'd love to make it based of off performance but im lazy
You fixed it?
Ah, wonder what happened for the system to go derp.
But glad it was fixable with BIOS settings.
Have to check if rebar is enabled on my system... I have a slight feeling it may cause issues in cyberpunk.
After a while (usually 1-1.5h of playtime the game slows down in framerate) Still playable but noticable, and feels sluggish. But then again... running proton could also do something funky with performance after a while of running...
could be low vram too. didn't GN mention somwthing like this?
honestly i think thats fairly normal
generally speaking most my games start off running well and then after a while they drop a bit and then generally stay at a lower average but keep a higher consistency
It's not VRAM, I got 24GB. And about 12 is utilized.
But I will investigate further 🙂
Test with different games. (To exclude it's cyberpunk related issue).
Not sure if STALKER 2 is more stable now. But satisfactory could be good candidate to test.
But cyberpunk is very much a patchwork game.
yep. I'm playing through the dlc so that's why I'm noticing it 😄
But will test some other games for sure.
assuming bg3 patch 8 drops soon thats probably on the next list.
It does in act3, because it's quite crowded, but a sim/factory game game like satisfactory or dsp is most likely the bestcandidates to stress on. Assuming you have a beefy save for it. 🙂
ehhh beefy save would interfere probably
Ah, I spent 100 hours in BG3, to explore act 1
my save gives completely random perofrmance based on where the initial loading happened what has been rendered through the sesion and hasent... its just too inconsistent
And didn't continue because I got sick. And afterwards I kinda forgot about it.
😄
Should pick it up again from start, but I don't want to do it all again atm.
I know that feeling
it's like when I restart in DSP or any other game from full upgrades.
It's a pain
And BG3 felt like a movie. That I had to pause halfway for a few weeks.
I really want to follow the story without interruption 🤣
From what I've seen, it was so well written.
Mmm
No, it's good
Ah 😆
thats how cyberpunk felt like to me but i think thats just because i isolated myself from practically everything else until i finished it
"mmm" is agreeing in swedish 😄
but it was also one of the most fun game completions i have had in a while
I will remember that for when I visit Sweden.
Better is the "yes" sound. idk how to write it in text.
Ah, I think know what you mean. You have to make a certain sound to make it work.
Else mmm might mean something else 🤣
I copied from google 🤣
Want to know something crazy? I've never played DSP.
i cant wait to be free from the hell that is making a school project on all the intel degredation drama
I stopped playing because performance, but gonna give it a shot with my new cpu 🙂
It's like factorio in space. (before space age lol)
But they're still very different.
Yeah, I played a lot of games in the factory genre. But for some reason that one didn't really catch my eye
Time for operation try get some proper sleep tonight
Trouble sleeping?
just late
Ah, good night then 🛌
if only
Earplugs can help.
my brain goes hyperactive so that doesnt matter (:
Think about stuff all the time.
Did you program too much?
Anyways...
always
I have it when I program for 10 hours or more. Then I freaking dream code.
sleep deprive yourself
My brain wont stop coding for some reason. Anyway, go sleep don't mind me rambling 👋
If I sleep deprive myself, that means more coding.
Then it's even worse 😒
Best thing I've found is quit a few hours before sleep and do something else.
This annoys me so much
man, youtube performance seems to have turned to absolute crap lately
That's pretty crappy
My brain translate that line into "we don't want to to have a secure password" 😦
It also makes me wonder about the coding...
I mean my edumuhcated guess there is those characters have something to do with relation to the code and that better coding would be able to accept those characters without issue... would this be in the ballpark?
Also at very fist glance I thought it was a forkbomb heh
yea cause it won the adblocker war by making the page constantly check for adblock at every like 2 second interval
instead of only when it tries to play an ad
They want that monies
yea had a feeling it was some dogshit like that
absolutely devious plays
what game is that?
It'll never happen because it wouldn't make enough money most likely but I wish MS could do a modern version of Combat Flight Simulator...
wow so Moist went to the Minecraft movie and was literally the only person there... yikes
warthunder
another sparrow roll
Ah might have to check that out...I prefer real flight physics but the proper mechanics in a more arcade style could work
really for stuff much past the WWII era hardware a more arcade style is better in a lot of ways... like Falcon 3.0 was a lot of un with detailed missions but the combat was sometimes pretty yawn because you never even laid eyes on the target.
The tank stuff good in that game? I play World of Tanks... used to play quite a bit and be fairly good at that one heh
d/l it now actually... shouldn't take too long
its good ye
I think the tank combat is much better than WoT
I really don't like the arcade style
I'm talking about WoT, I don't like the arcade combat there
War Thunder has much more realistic tank combat
DOSBox retro PC game collection 😄

Comparing amount of CUDA cores in each "slot" would have been more useful comparison to comparing to the highest end GPU.
Where Nvidia has been making the highest die nearer and nearer to the reticle limit over time, needing the price to be raised to insane levels, because it isn't supposed to be general product but specialist one.
i appreciate that GN finally did the charts showing how scummy the lies about their tiers are
But basing it on the X090 was bad take.
Should have been cores on same tier, or based on X080.
i don't mind it tbh. he used "flagship" in the same way that nvidia has insisted on doing it since they added on the XX90
highest tier they insist on calling a gaming gpu to sell to gamers
Just Titan getting renamed to 5090.
5090 is as much gaming card as the various Titan cards were.
yup, but it's nvidia's naming scheme he's criticizing, so using their own terminology against them is fine by me 🤣
Point was that the gulf between 80 and 90 getting larger would have been shown even by basing everything on 80.
But would have given more realistic numbers for the lower end tiers.
& if anything, if he threw the titan cards in, it would have shown an even worse scaling
Now the lower end comparisons were absolutely useless.
he did chuck out the 3090Ti, i noticed that
could also do our own charts with the titan GPUs included
But basically the Titans and the current X090:s are about making the most performant card they can do when they don't have to care about die price.
And rest of the lineup has to care about the die price.
Without having the "Certified drivers for work cards" extra price tacked on.
the titan cards had that didn't they?
No.
They had all the features, but not the certification.
Support for ECC VRAM mode and non-nerfed FP64 performance.
But no program certified drivers.
i thought that was why the rtx titan was $2500
wow that's a special degree of shitty
The actual professional version of 5090 costs $6000.
Nvidia RTX Pro A6000
