Adb is working fine, it's actually fastboot that's giving me problems
Misspoke earlier
Well rip
Yeah π
Unfortunately, restarting my PC didn't magically fix it
Interestingly, I have to put the device in file transfer/android auto usb mode for adb to work
So I'm wondering if that's what's not allowing fastboot to work
I really just don't have a ton of experience with adb
So anyone with knowledge that would like to pitch in on this fine new years eve would be appreciated π
community.oneplus.com/thread/465778
So generic driver from Google Android SDK that needs to be force-installed.
And is around as separate download too.
@jagged snow For the download and install instructions.
amazon got their act together, actually gave me an estimated delivery time other than βtoday by 11pmβ this time, and they moved up my headphone delivery date
I love stalking the amazon delivery man till the minute he puts the package on my door
Linux adb works like a charm when I had an android phone
Thanks, that did it
as i suspected, after making some prototypes and testing fan arrangements... having 6 fans in parallel, vs the 6 fans in 2-pair series (3 sets) ... the sets in series drew more air (at 50% pwm) through the chamber than in parallel. however at 40%, the parallel drew more air, but not as much (and louder) as the in series at 50%. overall the parallel setup was noisier than the series. so conclusion is: in series they push more air at a lower volume/noise level, so in-series is better for my setup
i tested multiple spacings for the in-series sets... 1inch, up to 4inch (25mm up to 100mm)..... strangely the ONLY difference I could measure, was the maximum distance was a bit more noisey by 1db
airflow was completely unaffected... so i dunno if thats due to the arctic fans im using just naturally work well in series, or something else
i even tried them back to back with only the thickness of cardboard between them (about 6mm) ... no ill affects
If you want to get the most performance out of your fans in series, you'll want to get the fancy reversed ones
as in, fan 1 goes one way, fan 2 goes the other way (in a set)?
thats fancy π not sure arctic sell reverse spin fans, i'd have to mix brands
You would also probably get more performance out of the sets that were father apart if you used some sort of flow stabilisation
ive not yet tested putting a pattern of fins between them.... need to fashion something up thats thin enough per fin, and a grid or slat pattern
i could probably make something out of the flat tin that ducting is made out of of... tricky part is getting them perfectly flat with no bend in them, and finger them together
slats of cardboard would be too think per slat .... would impede flow
i should probably do some cable management
god this new logitech wireless mouse i got is .... well, i like the buttons, its lightweight, it fits nice in the claw grip, and it has a light scroll wheel .... BUT ..... here is me trying to move the mouse horizontally 'straight' (like moving my cursor along a line with the I-Beam to select text).... the top 4 lines are 'freehand' ... the bottom four lines are "using a box to guide it straight" .... W T F
how is the box less accurate?
i kNOW?!
but its decidely going up and down all by itself as i move across the pad
super weird
physically i feel like im moving normally ....
Does it have the option to calibrate for different surfaces?
Could be that it's having trouble tracking on your pad
just tried two pads and the bare wood surface too ... grr
lol a white box it doesnt move at all π
theres no software on mac, its just the built in thing thing
blue lines are me using my old wired mouse
yeah ........ think im gonna have to relegate this "logi" wireless mouse to my downstairs HTPC (since its wireless, works from couch)
i tried 4 different surfaces now, three pads i had (all ranging from solid black, to spacey scenes)
its doing this wiggle going up and down too ...
jesus you're accurate
i used to freehand in photoshop with the mouse ... so its kind of natural to me (thus why this new mouse was instantly like WHOAH IM DRUNK!)
i was just trying to edit some code, moving the i-beam and selecting text... and it was all over the place LOL ...
i chocked up some degree of variability to natural hand imprecision, but i shouldn't have
that's some brain surgeon level precision
just tried some more lines with the new mouse on a different pad ...
it likes to just go veering off at times
This is what I do without going especially slow or anything
and some new lines with old mouse ...
yeah.... not even 'trying' ... its smoother
the end of the line usually goes wonker cause thats where the 'wrist' is bending off towards the end of the pad
crap! .... this wireless mouse is nice though... the buttons are soft and silent, the scroll wheel doesnt grind... its lightweight (despite the battery in it) !
but ... but ... ITS ALL OVER THE PLACE
ive got many mousepads, the one im using right now is a steelseries black pad
not very heavy battery
its a single AA ... so not bad
ive always laid my 'wire' for the mouse out in a way that it never drags or pulls or bunches ... so i rarely notice the cable
requires desk space lol ...
DAMNIT ... i cant get this new mouse moving predictably ... ive tried 3 different usb ports for its dongle, and tried adjusting apples mouse control panel ... different pads .... Argggggggggg
this cant be normal .... i'll contact logitech about it, see what they say
plugged it into my PC ... doing the same thing
that can be annoying
especially when they dont provide two sliders for adjusting them .....
its bad
i never bothered to buy one.... the whole right-click issue is a nightmare
Evga makes an mmo mouse that I've heard good things about
MMO mouse... lots and lots of buttons for macros and hotbar slots ?
LOTRO i think is the worst offender ive played where it has what... 8 hotbars ?
I'm pretty sure that's the one
Happy new year to all of our germans π
Thanks
we've got a while to go yet
I haven't even eaten lunch yet
Happy new year π₯³
heh, new years is ... 'sometime' ...
you a writter?
I just copied pasted a whatsapp message, send it to the people I love. And that's that π
I sure do.
7 or something π
you had fireworks?
Here it rained at midnight, now it's 1AM, the rain stopped and everyone started to lit fireworks π
don't skunks do something else π
In my country people get detained for using fireworks
Not sure its technically illegal. But its better if you go with police than if neighbors find you launching blowing stuff
Wait, how can you get detained, if it's not illegal. That means it's legal and they have no reason to detain you? Unless maybe noise?
There are many thing you can get detained for which are not technically illegal π desperate times
Euhm, 3 so far π
She can be annoying.
and other sick stuff π
can't spoil it π
it's from Dungeons & Dragons (BG3), I mean the one I killed π
haha π "my little petal"
not that familiar with baba yaga
I know it's a song from Slaughter to Prevail π (totally not a metal band)
but I can't understand russian, so no clue what's it about
it's a cool name tbh, sounds ominous.
we also have our local legends.
Antwerp (city in Belgium) comes from "Hant Werpen", which means throwing hands. It's a legend of a giant in the river Schelde. If you wanted to cross it you had to pay toll. Else the giant cut of your hand and threw it away. Lange Wapper was the name of the hero who eventually defeated the giant.
"Kabouters" ?
Oh, I forgot it. Can't remember the details.
around christmas?
looks like a devil tbh
do you have the eastern bunny? π
hiding chocolat in the garden for the kids to find?
mhm π€ I am just thinking what else we have.
who is winning?
then how do you decide the outcome π
we have a lot of christian customs...
oh we have a few pagan rituals still π
Bosbessenfeest - Belgium π
It has something to do with a witch that lived in the village Vielsalm
with our current knowledge
that is true. But that doesn't mean witches actually existed as in: they can do magic and stuff.
bothers?
Ah.
some continents and countries were pretty secluded yeah
but europe and America wasn't π
which are connected.
what can I say π€·ββοΈ We had a lot of love
I wrote my thesis on that subject btw. More or less.
nah dutch π
haha π
You wouldn't have liked my thesis
that's a half-truth in my opinion.
some history might have been coloredd in by victors. But other history we can pretty much rely on.
because we can cross check it with multiple sources.
that is for sure.
don't think it will be for our generation π¦
But who knows what the future brings.
Maybe they find some new technology to scan deeper into the earth.
and analyse history more. hypothetical.
yeah, that's why it's only a hypothetical π It's not something useful for our current situation
but you can't say for 100% it might not happen either π€·ββοΈ
unless you have a magic ball π
I am not saying you are wrong btw. Just saying it's more nuanced π
let's first see how electric cars go in 2024
all want what?
there is all sorts of wild scientific theories out there
that we can harvest dark matter as energy π
we don't even know what the hell it is! If it's even for a thing.
for sure not. Not this moment.
we just started with AI. Drones. SpaceX satellites.
true, 100% agree.
but it's the first steps.
that's my point. We are miles away!
bots can't solve illiteracy
you have to be able to read/write to use a bot.
but yeah I do agree bots/AI/ML can help with education
I don't tiktok. Never visited it. No account either.
true
I mean, both my niece and nephew know it π
I know it's popular among the kids.
my niece can draw beautifully and she wants to learn guitar. So I think we are good π
TikTok actually motivates her.
she sees things on tiktok and that pushes her to try it.
but I mean, YT did the same to me.
can't teach an old dog new tricks?
π
I am not judging
π€·ββοΈ Not my business
not much tbh π
just firework shows I guess
depends on how you look at it π
no clue what that is, sorry
nah, I honestly don't know what that is π
Maybe I live under a rock or something
Oh it's a meme?
Feels like I dodged a bullet here π
Anyway, I am off to bed. π Again, happy new year π₯³
No! I am out π

Lot of mice have logic in the controller to try to keep lines straight.
Which you don't want in gaming mice.
So might be your old mouse had that.
Or it is lower DPI, and by setting that down in the new one would get it better too.
Either first or second Razer DeathAdder had that in original firmware, and Razer had to start releasing firmwares without it too from consumer backlash.
Anyways, P14 fans finally ordered.
So that I can finally assemble the 7800X3D system to (for now) final configuration and put it into actual usage.
i'm still trying to figure out if big fat cores like AM5 or p/e cores are going to be the better way forward for me
Depends what you do, and if you go to single-CCD or dual-CCD AM5.
$300 for only 2 more cores than i have doesn't feel like enough of a bump
& i know i got spoiled with what i paid for my 1700X & 5600X
It is not about the number of cores.
It is about the single-core and multi-core performance?
In the specific programs you use.
mostly gaming, with a bunch of non-"work" background stuff running
So 7800X3D is very hard to beat for general gaming.
For actual work-type multicore loads the Intel can be good.
But then in those the 7950X(3D) is often better.
And Intel is the leader in some specific programs like Photoshop and Premiere IIRC because of the single-core performance and program optimizations.
i do know that one of my games is weird in that it likes to use more than 1 core
Or just going with 5800X3D
Games on dual-CCD parts usually run better when limited to single CCD on AMD.
Because the extra latency from the cross CCD communication loses all the benefits from the extra cores.
it's not like i'm on any kind of serious time crunch, i was thinking of waiting until next gen AMD comes out before making a decision
with how wonky the AM4 introduction was, i was expecting more of the same with AM5's first gen
VSOC debacle wasn't wonk enough?
π€£
& i was really worried about the cooling issues
& i still kind of am
intel is just a power hog so cooling is a problem, & AM5's thicker heat spreader is a pain in the ass
Which was "optimization" to not have the need for better CPU mounting mechanism and bypass the LGA1700 problems with bendy CPUs with need for third party mounting frames.
oh i know the excuses
they could have just made a hard chop between old & new coolers
it's happened before
Having better CPU mounting mechanism would have been the right thing to do.
The cooler compatibility was additional 1/3rd thickness added after the bending "fix"
& yea, they could have found 2mm somewhere
oh for intel sure
or intel could have not been dumbasses & make their chips rectangular
And that cooler compatibility was no brainer at that point.
But for AMD to use better CPU mounting to not need the thick IHS would have been the right solution IMHO.
Intel just fucked up with LGA1700.
yea, imagine the good press they could have gotten if they had just said "ok, new cooler required, but on the other hand, it's better than intel"
AMD made bad decision to allow them to use same cheap single-throw mounting system still.
And then added little extra to get direct cooler compatibility.
& now the cooler manufacturers are screwed, because unless they do a ton more R&D, they can't get past that thick heat spreader
Would have been the case with the thick IHS solution even without the extra thickness to get AM4 compatible.
Which was the baseline.
so it's doubly dumb
And there isn't suitable CPU mounting mechanism yet developed to not need the thick IHS, or mounting frame type thing.
The server sockets use mounting frame type things by default and come with or need torque drivers to use with them.
Would have needed some kind of double-lever thingie with multiple contact points per side for thin IHS without bending problems.
Because having mounting frame thingie as standard for consumer platform is complete no-go.
it became even worse:
powerstation suddenly turned of AC output when PC was connected to it with an "inverter overcurrent protection" error.
why?!
it was drawing just about 160W and was connected to the grid... if it grid was to shutdown it shoud have continuaed operating as normal - already tested a bunch of times. battery was full.
Because those care about VA, not W.
So power factor matters.
Took too much amperage.
And the switching moment can cause weird behavior if the unit isn't meant to be UPS.
Power stations are meant to be offline power source, not UPS.
So they might not be build to handle input loss when there is load connected.
it has UPS "mode" or whatever.
but in this case grid didn't seem to have any problem - at least i didn't hear any relay switches that would usually happen
in a case of prvoding just AC, how is VA not in linear correlation with W?..
"inverter overcurrent protection", the AC load(s) connected tried to take too much power.
From battery.
Inverter is the bit that converts DC to AC.
that's what i though of as well, but...
liek rn i just disconnected it from the the grid and it was OK, with the same 150W load from PC
Because the load isn't completely stable.
And the inverter cares about VA, not W.
W is simplification with AC, VA is the real load with power factor included.
and 150W is like nothing for this model
600W AC Pure Sine Wave Inverter (1,200W surge)
Then it might be faulty?
that's the only conclusion i could draw...
yet it's only once (maybe, with a bit of a stretch, second time)
with a 650W PSU in PC...
which might be the actual source of problem?
And when does that error happen?
When connecting or starting the computer?
At some other point?
no, it was just stable load, i was in code editor π
that other time i ever witnessed that error was during the boot, yes...
but itwas that strange configuration with powerstation -> old UPS -> PC
when i turned on old UPS, PC wanted to boot but pwoerstation shut off AC with that message
so it could have been caused by how old UPS turns on... which might draw (speculation) more current to charge capacitor, begin accum charge and prodive output to PC
wild guess - so because PSU is known for catching on fire, maybe powerstation actually prevented some of that shit π
cause i doubt something violent can happen without violent power draw
Huh
It happened second time...
Wild guess: could this be due to grid frequency?..
Both times without any load on gpu (well except for usual desktop environment, not even video playback).
This setup worked fine while gaming.
Power factor can get really crappy in low load on PSU.
Basically the load spike happening way outside the AC voltage high-points.
like how much outside?
rechecked - 50Hz is a match, and it does not seem to fluctuate in a grid.
PF of 0.7 to 0.3 IIRC.
Where 1.0 would be perfect and 0.0 impossible.
As in with 0.0 it would try to pull infinite amperage from 0 volts.
you mean effeciency of PSU?
No, Power Factor.
eh
oh wow its actually rated 750W 80plus gold
what i am worried about is PSU's input current 12-6A
while powerstation is rated for only 2.6A on output AC
But basically at 0.5 power factor, 100W load is 200VA load (200 "W") on the inverter.
yet it claims that in "bypass mode" ac pwoer will directly support the loads on AC output ports and charge powerstation
Unfortunately cannot find simplified thing for the Power Factor that doesn't need pre-knowledge of how AC power is graphed etc.
AC power graphics are ok for me
In electrical engineering, the power factor of an AC power system is defined as the ratio of the real power absorbed by the load to the apparent power flowing in the circuit. Real power is the average of the instantaneous product of voltage and current and represents the capacity of the electricity for performing work. Apparent power is the pro...
Phase difference between the amperage and the voltage.
ok, seems like i am starting to udnerstand what you are reffering to. its from theory, not something written on the box π
but where would all that power go too?
isn't that bascially same as PSU's efficiency (same as what these 80plus standards are designed to ensure)?
Yeah, the power factor isn't a spec and it changes with the load on the PSU.
No, Efficiency is the loss to heat inside the PSU.
Power Factor is when the PSU pulls the power from the grid.
80 Plus mandates that PF must be 0.9 or better at 100% load.
m aware that is is changing.
my past PSU even had graph on its box to say that "sorry, if you pull to low power its not 80 plus"
But the lower load PF isn't specced IIRC.
i don't like to think they are different, this puts too many variables into move...
It is always different if the load isn't purely resistive.
As capacitor and inductor naturally have 90 degree phase difference.
Reason why industrial users are billed by VA, not W.
Which takes the PF into account.
And why UPSes are rated in VA and not W.
And why Active PF control circuits exist in better PSUs etc.
And the cheap add-on power meters can measure the PF.
that would be crappy but also doesn't seem likely in this case, because:
it seemed to work fine with very little load, like fan, monitor, suspended PC
and both cases it happened under ~150W load which is not that low nor is too high.
Yet is definitely on the lower end
hmm, there's probably no way i could detect VA spike with my common multimeter
My 7800X3D with Seasonic Gold rated PSU, IIRC 650W unit, is right now pulling average of 0.38A with PF of 0.82-0.84.
75W average, on 235V supply.
Running two core AVX512 load.
Seasonic Prime series.
So loading the grid like it was 92W load?
And that was the whole-system before PSU wattage.
HWiNFO says that CPU is taking 40W total.
40W with two cores fully loaded and the others more or less idling sounds reasonable
10.3W of that for the IOD with IGP on.
But anyways, Grid sees 92VA load (about 92W equivalent), PSU takes 75W, gives loses some to itself (efficiency).
Gives less than 75W to the computer, of which about 40W is used by the CPU.
With MBN VRM efficiency losses between that too.
That difference between 92VA and 75W is from the power factor.
my mind cannot give up asking "where does the power go"
Phase difference thing between the amp draw and the voltage curve when talking about AC draws.
Less voltage, so needs more amps to get the wattage.
And the difference is from if you drew the same amperage at the "correct" point on the voltage curve, how high would the wattage be.
As simplification.
As the limit is amps based, not wattage based in power grids, inverters etc.
To large extent.
if the energy is returned - than why not just stick to W and be happy cause grid gets its pwoer back? π
anyway, all that means that there could be power draw larger than what powerstation displays.
plus, PSU might want more current just by itself, despite being under relatively low load...
together this means "don't use it with PC"
maybe installing old PSU with lower wattage will help
Or newer one of similar wattage that has better PFC correction.
This kind of things are a thing and can measure the current and power factor.
Plug-In Power Consumption Meters
realistically i don't need so 750W
but the GPU want's me to think i need at least 650W rated PSU
HWiNFO reports 60W on CPU and 120W on GPU
while powerstation reports 250-280W ac output
The rating given by GPU manufacturer is oversized to account for otherwise high-load computers and bad PSUs that cannot actually deliver the rated wattage.
exactly
yet there might have been some issue when itried running it with 550W PSU.
yet i think it could have been due to something else, cause it was alaso with different motherboard and CPU, and at least once i cought nvme drive overheating - it was a system drive and it was directly under GPU's exhaust
the other components include:
- 2 ssd, hdd, nvme
- 5 fans including cpu
which i doubt consume all 80W
some of it from PSU itself ofcourse
rest must be PF
Imo, one of the more accurate measurements around this subject
Even thinking of getting more smart plugs.
They can measure, remote , auto turn on and off and they can have a power schedule.
But anyways, Core-Cycler Prime95 with Y-cruncher background load, both on AVX512+HT and 20% CPU fans found that third best core had too large negative CO offset.
Reboots from uncorrectable cache ECC errors which got fixed by one step less, and then just corrected cache errors until changed second step.
So from -23 to -21.
Now doing probably second to last: Core-Cycler Y-cruncher with Prime95 on the "better" cores, with ATX512+HT, step by step from 1 to 8 cores, with 20% fan speed.
And then either of those without HT while I wait for the fans, which were back-ordered and will probably arrive next week to me.
Had been perfectly stable at the same test with CPU cooler fans at 100%.
But that kind of thing is to be expected.
As the voltage used for certain frequency changes with cpu temperature in the AMD boost tables.
Happy new year everyone!
Baldur, since when are you optimizing your system again? seems like months now...
Since early summer in bursts?
Haven't been able to complete the build anyways.
Fractal Design Define R6
Now replacing the stock Fractal Design Dynamic X2 GP-14 fans (3-pin) with P14s (PWM)
is that even worth it?
I put the 7800X3D build in a Corsair 4000D airflow, did fit well enough
Wanted the PWM fans with better control range.
And cost less than 8e per fan.
22,90e per case with three fans, and two cases.
but are the fans actually better? or just PWM control?
Both.
the Corsair fans could be better, but my mom is not really sensitive to fan noise. Can always be replaced with better fans later if needed
P14 PWM:s were great in this comparison testing few years ago, and they are cheap.
quasarzone.com/bbs/qc_bench/views/74175
Radiator, intake, outtake and no obstruction tests in there at multiple noise levels.
I just go to BIOS, turn off the fans in there one by one to check which one is messed up.
My advice, when a fans sounds bad, replace it.
fancontrol should let you do that without going to the bios. only some unsupported controller may block this approach
don't have fan control. And like to keep my pc clean of useless software if there is options like bios π Just me.
can BIOS control case fans based on GPU temp?
FanControl allows you much better control over your fans
yeah, way better control options than anything the bios could ever come up with
Any Blender geometry node gurus here?
Hmm... Time to go plug by cars block heater cable in, need to go out tomorrow and it should be -25 C or lower temperature.
Should start without probelms, but why take the risk and with electrical interior heater it will be much nicer.
engine block heater only or the interior too?
Both
ok, let me rephrase that: two heaters or one with running water pump and car fans?
Two, one electrical element at the block, about 150W or so usually? Haven't measured this specific car.
And then 1150/1900W two power interior heater, this one: www.defa.com/product/termini-ii-1900/
So just this thing in the front inside the car, and you select whatever interior heater you want:
so this new mouse has employeed "suirrely" instead. plus my deathadder does not have 'straightness syndrome', i can do even circles with it and diagonals fine.... this is clearly a problem with the new mouse being either poorly built, or defective
interestingly, the bluetooth one i have, is a wee bit squirrly, but not as bad as the new M220
and i assure you, none of these tests are 'exagerated for effect' ... this is all same normal hand movements on the same mousepad (all black, steelseries)
I understood.
I got the top style when I set my mouse to the highest DPI.
And very straight when I used lowest.
I usually use the second highest.
speedwise, they are all about the same... the lenovo is a bit 'fast' though, and i didnt adjust it
To keep the movement needed to move across the screens low enough to be nice in my mind.
and none of these have dpi settings on a mac .... just the one 'slider' LOL ... wtg macos π€¦
No mouse has DPI in the OS.
Button in bottom of the mouse for me.
Some mice have it in the manufacturer settings software.
heck there are no 'software' to install for any of these except the deathadder ... but i didnt bother installing it on my mac to to the test, just used the built in
The OS setting just applies multiplier to what the mouse reports.
yeah, my deathadder on PC has dpi and polling, and whatnots... which is why i use it there on the game machine π
sadly im trying to find a new 'mac work mouse' ..... all the ones listed there (except the razer), are really junky in one way or another
im currently using the macalley dynamouse though since it has the least 'problems' LOL
i WAS using the logitech B100 until it developed 'random mouse button lift' making dragging things difficult
it actually skipped out on two line tests, i had to redo them ...
im hoping the M220 is just defective.... sent in a tick to logitech to ask
mouse graveyard lol
H9 Elite?
so you plug your car to 230V for heating, but have to remember to unplug it, or else... is there some warning you are still plugged in? or is the still running heater deemed indication enough? π
People do leave without unplugging from time to time and cause damage to things.
Like people forget the nozzle at gas pumps at times.
If they allow "lock and forget" operation.
No real indication, as usually the power is on 2 hour timer you can set.
So the interior heater etc. only run during that slice of time.
yeah, I feel like I'd be a prime candidate for ripping out the plug and whatnot when driving off to work early in the morning when my brain is still a bit in primal automatic mode
is the timer in the car or on the outlet to the car?
this is so weird
i tried to go to logitech support, to submit them a email ticket with the image describing the issue ...
all i get is a 'bot', which then proceeds to setup and is shipping me a new mouse. no cost, not asking for the defective one back ...
dang, if in the car it would be easy to have some form engine interruption until unplugged
that looks safe
FI-Schutzschalter, good to have. why is it in german? no localised breakers for you?π
Why would a breaker have localization?
probably cheaper to just send a new one than have to handle the return
All the markings except the On and Off are technical and not relevant to the consumer.
I never really thought about that, just thought those things get prints in the language it is sold in
I mean, SI units are universal
and the rest is just descriptive, electricians can identify it even with foreign labeling
40A breaking capacity and 30mA activation current should be all it really need
Rest is standardized?
C16 is for C-type 16 amp breaker for example.
AEG Elfa E91S is the model.
Same with the ground fault interrupter, 40A max model with 30mA cut-off point, for two poles (one phase)
what im baffled by, is all i talked too was a BOT ... it just asked me "did these articles solve it?" ... no.... "does using a sheet of white paper solve it?" ... no ... "whats your address and we will ship you a new one". ?!
VDE approved is considerd safe too
What car you got Baldur? Or what am I looking at. Though it was electric car π But now I am not so sure, since it's plugged into the front of the car.
Not telling, for privacy reasons.
And those pics were just random ones from internet.
I was talking about the car in the picture π
That is the block heater power cable.
nver seen that
Standheizung mit Aussenversorgung
You can even see the watermarks of the image source I got it from.
The other one was from Finnish Wikipedia.
I glaced at it quickly π
That image is old one where there wasn't separate connector in the bumper.
found a version that also chargers your car battery and some even have gps tracking if you want
There would be charger add-ons to the Defa system.
And then there are the fuel using ones instead of cabled that can be remote activated etc.
Modular systems from several manufacturers, Defa is the most common in Finland.
Webasto is the most common fuel burner based one.
preheating the engine and oil seems like a nice thing even with warmer temps, saves the time needed to heat the stuff to normal operating temps
Webasto is great, just working properly
fuel based heating is the go to solution if you don't have a fixed parking spot
And forgot about Defa having the remote control options for car side if you live in place without the timer on the outlet.
ah makes sense. never cold enough here to have block heaters in our cars.
not to scrap ice or wait to unfog the windows is nice even when with not that cold weather
Like I said earlier, tomorrow should be -25 C or lower temp.
π₯Ά
And I have forgotten to install the radiator blocker stuff, so the car wouldn't heat up at speed.
The minimum flow through the thermostat is too much with unblocked radiator.
Enough heat for the engine, but not for the passanger compartment.
'just park in a heated garage...' π
This kind of stuff, but self-made and needs to be mounted with zip ties.
oh, helps to keep the cold wind out
We have commercially available ones for most cars here
Or at least kits to make them
Like I said, have self-made one, but haven't remembered to mount it yet this winter.
Which would take about 15 minutes, but not doing it outside tomorrow.
What temps are you seeing right now?
Too low, and the front of the car is against snow bank.
When I can do it tomorrow in free heated parking garage under a shopping mall.
About same level as tomorrow should be.
Again, answering the question would help locating where I live.
So not wanting to leave data for possible future DOX attempts.
Yeah, I guess so. I just use
understandable, it's kinda interesting how many people don't think about that (or just don't care)
Yeah
Honestly, when it comes to my country. I really don't care if people know it. Good luck finding me in the 11 million Belgians we have. But then again, I never mind if someone is set on their privacy. It's just a personal thing. Don't think either cases (sharing vs privacy) is wrong.
Answering that would have helped pin it down to much smaller area than a country.
You have some serious enemies π
And lot of that kind of things make it much easier to pin down to specific person.
Not AFAIK, but anything I say here is "forever".
but again, you don't even have to justify it. You do you.
huh, interesting. That makes me think now. Legality of it. Since we got GDPR, we have the right to remove permanent data.
but I think that has to do with our personal information stored in databases, and not the text messages we sent.
just as a tip for anyone interested in this sort of things.
User Settings -> Privacy and Settings -> Scroll to the bottom.
Looks like i removed the cause - "silent" charging mode
Have no idea hoe it could interfere, but p=pblems started when i turned it on and ended when i turned it off
smol country
yeah, an unfortunate reality is that now people will have everything they do on the internet perpetually locked away on some database for the rest of their lives, maybe we should think about what we want carved into the stone tablet of the internet forever before we type it
I don't have time for this π«
It's a router requirement in 3 pages if you want to use your own equipment for internet access....
I was hoping you could use your own SFP module but guess it's more complicated
GPON is fibre, but completely different from normal 1 to 1 connections. Everything gets the same signal, but timeslots and different wavelengths (and encryption) differentiate between the individual endpoints
but the typical Fritzbox should have everything needed
Fritzbox 5530
some requirements seem weird, as in not their problem as they are on the users side of the network
I was thinking of using Unify UDM Pro + MA5671A SFP since they are both compatible with each other. Some experts managed to make it work
The trickiest part is changing the SFP module serial number and PLOAM password
Apparently, ISP gives away new routers which have PLOAM password visible so 50% of the work is already done
are there GPON SFP modules? never looked at that
Yeah, there are a lot on the market. You need to be careful when you buy one and check if it's compatible with the equipment you are going to use
Good thing ubiquiti is compatible with huawei SFP modules in general
*with some exceptions
Also, I know which model is in the central office in my city: carrier.huawei.com/en/products/fixed-network/access/olt/smart-ng-olt-ma5800
MA5800-X17 to be more specific
I'd rather ask the ISP to switch their modem/router into bridge mode and to the rest without the hassleπ
I could also avoid all the trouble if I buy a beer for the tech guy who works in the central office and ask him to input my SFP serial number in the provisioning sytem
*if the corporate policy allows him to do that
They are giving this shitty modem to customers (including my sister who got a fiber connection to her apartment last week) π
still no fiber in my area, very angy
I think people who choose 1 gbit/s connection get fritzbox which has better specs than that abomination in the picture above
Better than working in a small company where there is a high employee turnover and everything could go to shit over 24 hours π
I've worked enough for small companies and they are highly unstable. Never repeating that mistake again
They are reconstructing the existing building?
Hope they are planning to pull fiber cable from the building basement to each apartment to make it future-proof
Here, they install fiber in older buildings by placing cable trunking on the wall which is aesthetically unpleasing
They refuse to pull the fiber through wall cable conduits unless the conduit diameter is large and there is enough space for bending the fiber without damaging it
when they installed it at my house, they went through-n-through the outter wall right to my office and hooked up the convertor box .... they didnt wanna fuss with fishing around in walls or up or down or attic lol ... so i basically have 'fiber to the baseboard'
This is how it looks like in my sister's building: each ISP installs a splice box on each apartment building floor/hallway
interesting
2 ISP's in total, each offering fiber
Since it is illegal for one ISP to use another ISP's cable trunking
When the technician ran a fiber strand inside my sister's apartment, he didn't use cable trunking since it is ugly
He simply placed a fiber strand on the wall and covered it in caulk so you can't notice it
we only have one isp that provides fiber around here, so yeah, its 'all theirs'
they also told me that i have to leave the convertor box alone, and leave it behind if i sell the house ... since normally they put those outside, and its their property to deal with
well, the entire lower half of my house is solid brick, no wood walls at all
its brick, brick, cement, horse-hair plaster, paint
downstairs walls get a bit 'chilly' to the touch during winter π¦
when i rewired the upstairs for new romex ... i had to go up the central wall in the house which was hallow ... cause all the outside walls were solid brick/concrete π¦
oh yeah, new built stuff around here is like matchbook houses ... flimsy wood and plasterwall wrapped in plastic siding, you can actually cut your way into a house using a utility knife =p
oh no kidding, some new built homes in rich areas are like 2million ... but are so cheap-ass crappy made
i like older homes, 100yo homes, cause they were built by craftsmen (yes 'men', its the term used) ...
Oh boy
When I got fiber they tried to give me a router/wap combo that could only do ~600mbps on lan
The plan is symmetrical gig
I should check my sister's apartment and test the speed there
Nephew/niece is expected to be born in July. I am safe atm π
Didn't realise we have microsoft surface hub at work. Wonder how much they paid for this shit
crapple used to be a good drink i hear
they can put it in the taxes so it's all good for the company π π
From the video I saw on youtube, it's just an oversized screen with collaboration tools?
fairly common for companies, especially during corona.
once worked for a company, paid a few 2k or more for an oversized TV with all the newest collaboration stuff in it. Can't remember the brand.
In the end, we used it as a glorified whiteboard, we couldn't be arsed to use the other features. It's was brilliant.
No, we use dollar. π || every member of the European Union country uses euro, including belgium ||
there are some fake/foreign coins going around
I remember when my college used eu funds to buy interactive projectors. In the end, everyone used it as a normal projector...
So much for "interactivity"
I bet they bought it so they can tell students how much they "invest" in education
here we have a concept, some companies get money from goverment. If they don't spend it all. They get less the next year. Because it means they don't need as much. So what they do at the end of the year? Make sure they spend it all.
Yes, they sure do
buying 200 "spare" laptops and stocked them away for the future.
while we all had decent laptops back then.
I regret now I didn't take a picture of that room where the laptops were stocked. It was filled to the ceiling. Really crazy sight π
I just asked my manager wtf was going on, and he told me how it works. A.k.a. spend all the money to get the same amount from the goverment next year.
so that means you were up late last night too π
When I worked for a high school, we bought several virtual reality headsets through eu funds for an adult education project. Those headsets are now collecting dust in the archive....
What? 3AM not late enough π
I forgot. Somebody pulled the plug out of their AR. Was it Microsoft?
Google glass is dead too iirc
weren't they working on a new one? 2.0
nop. Seems you are right. I get a 404
Oh, that sucks.
which ones ? there are many kinds
i currently use these for my game rig: Logitech Z906 5.1
heeh
normie ones ?
downstairs i got the Z-5500 plugged up to my HTPC for big boom movies
its overkill
what's your budget?
the Z906 is decent middle ground
i also have gotten the Z506 .... but its kind pathetic, not impressed
i like the multiple inputs and control box on the Z906
lets me plug my PC in for 5.1 on one... then my ipod in on 'surround stereo' mode for another input ... kinda neat
I like studio monitors for music π
while gaming ive never gone above 50% on the volume, its just too loud =p
got some yamaha's
what speakers you use for vinyl?
oof.
depends wich model
no particular genre. I either like it. Or I don't.
sick drummer
they still active?
what about evanescence?
The us plugs can be okay if they're well built(also don't forget it's the entirety of NA that uses them)
115v 20a π
But for applications where more than that is required we have different plugs
230 V
Most of the stuff in that list is either standard, or ass covering for when customer complains about bad performance, and the cause is the router not being powerful enough.
Mbps vs. MBps.
8-fold difference in theory, often up to 10 fold in actuality.
So 80MBps = 640 Mbps on that 8 bits per byte theoretical, without overheads.
135, 136 and 137 might be important, if the connection actually uses the stuff (probably not).
140 is important, but that can be done with manual firewall rules on the router if it doesn't do the stuff automatically, like it should.
128 doesn't matter really and is just network internal stuff, jumbo frames can allow for faster actual speeds inside the LAN, but ALL the devices would need to support the specific size.
Almost no-one actually uses them anymore, were bandaid for time when CPU power wasn't there otherwise for full bandwidth 1Gbit/s or 10Gbit/s traffic.
And most of the rest is just standard.
But basically the whole list is ass-covering, so that if there are problems, the ISP can point at specific requirement that you didn't fill.
Even when most of the requirements are standard to everything, some are just ass-covering, and few specific ones are actually the ones that matter.
Basically seems that the list is directly the list of what they themselves include in the competition requirements when they want to select router that they will sell/rent/include.
@visual tree The short version: Anything you can actually connect should fill the requirements to the extend that they actually matter.
Except for the routing speed requirements.
And that only limits the speed you can use.
Or meant taking vacation from work?
Not from here?
Glad they finally mentioned how to setup voip (even though I don't need it). Setting up voip is very difficult since there are a lot of settings involved
There is a whole page dedicated to voip settings only
Seems like router freedom is not widespread enough in Europe
Cable modem side is harder to have freedom on.
And those aren't currently really for sale in retail because of that, chicken-egg thing.
Brown - there is no router freedom. Yellow - there is a router freedom to a certain degree. Green - total router freedom
My sister recently switched from one ISP which was offering DOCSIS to another ISP with fiber. That DOCSIS modem was such a junk you couldn't even setup dns or port forwarding
Also read people can't even setup bridge modem on cable modem....
I am willing to pay 2 ISP's to connect my home to fiber network so I have more options to choose (also could get a free connection if I sign a 2 year contract)
You mean Vodafone? I don't think they were ever here π
Looks like PPF is here too even though I never heard of them
Not sure what they are investing in here
Oh, they bought RTL channel
I don't watch terrestrial TV though
Terrestrial TV content is so bad I don't even watch it. People either pay for cable TV/IPTV or watch netflix/hbo/disney+/etc...
What does this image mean?
Because afaik, we are geen on the picture, but we have no total free router use. Aka ISP ones.
Are you required to use the ISP supplied router or could you use your own one if you wanted to?
Eh trick question?
So, we are free (to buy any router) BUT we lose certain features like watching TV. The router and TV decoder are coupled.
The router doesnt have bridge. Not that we can configure
Actually there is very little we can configure.
The ISP providers sure do their best to take away control from the user.
Oh its about fiber
Here, you don't have total router freedom if you use fiber
Looked it up. It seems Belgium is βworking on itβ
But we arenβ there yet.
But itβs seems to be the goal. Interesting. Have to look up some more on the subject.
Damn. I am so jealous of my parents because they get free train ride for a year as a part of the government pilot project lol
They can ride literally anywhere in the country
They have to pay a small β¬2 fee for an elderly profile but that's nothing
Dang, I pay like 23β¬ a month and I'm limited to regional public transport
And even that is better than what most people have
just got my new headphones
and holy these are nice, the clamping force is like non-existent
and they're so damn soft
they're the SHP9600
funny just the other day we were talking about headphone fit
the audio jack is on the wrong side though
and it's gonna annoy the crap out of me
the audio jack is on the left side, but my headphone stand, and audio mixer are on the right side
idc what they are, they made some damn good headphones
most of the packaging is recyclable too, which is a nice touch
yeah you can't really tell whether or not something is gonna be good based on them being from china
but loads of people see "made in china" and assume it's cheap shit
lol
innovation = how much bigger can we make the camera lenses and get away with before people turn it into a meme
philips is dutch company
Koninklijke Philips N.V. (lit.β'Royal Philips'), commonly shortened to Philips, is a Dutch multinational conglomerate corporation that was founded in Eindhoven in 1891. Since 1997, it has been mostly headquartered in Amsterdam, though the Benelux headquarters is still in Eindhoven. Philips was formerly one of the largest electronics companies in...
Got the Bolt. Hoping to sell it in exactly 1 year and get all the EV incentives again.
Called a banking virtual assistant over the phone for the first time. It was a complete disaster...
how does that work?
Basically, a bank clerk managed to retrieve my card since the ATM swallowed it. He told me I only had to call the bank and ask them to unblock the card.
When a virtual assistant (bot) picked up my call and I asked it to unblock my debit card, it asked me a completely unrelated question...
To be specific, it asked me what error am I getting on the mobile banking app which had nothing to do with my case
Artificial intelligence my ass π€£
Sounds right. Unfortunately.
Later, I got a human and he literally unblocked my card in 10 seconds
If you call the bank from the mobile banking app, they know your identity and you don't have to tell them your ID number which makes things much faster
If they are going to force people to use artificial intelligence, guess I will simply visit the local bank office where I can actually talk to an organic life form
more and more banks don't allow visitors anymore because of the apps.
my last interactions with my bank all ended with this: "do it yourself, you have the app."
In my case, you can't use the app to unblock the card (app only supports blocking the card) but I am not going to waste my time talking to some dumb bot lol
I could also send en email but I am screwed if emails are also handled by virtual assistants (which is probably the case)
costumer service going down the drain
For years this has overwhelmingly been my experience with automated phone systems. Prerecorded messages and options that waste time until I can finally get a human.
Next time, I'll just ask a virtual assistant to give me someone's bank card number
*jk
No I don't want my damned balance or to make a payment, get me a damned operator
I was thinking: it seems a little bit dangerous if some code can unblock your card.
maybe that's why the bot didn't know what to do with your question π (by design)
I immediately terminated the call when the bot asked me an unrelated question so I didn't waste much time lol
Knew I would be going in circles
"Hey bot, so euhm ... like 1 million disappeared from my account. Can I have it back please?"
Bots are probably only connected to specific banking systems. Imagine if they were actually connected to everything and hackers abused the bots to make some serious damage
Yeah, they can probably answer questions but not interact with any system if that make sense?
Most likely. Interacting with the system would be a huge security risk
And not many developers are confident enough to push this forward as a feature. Nobody wants to be responsible.
I still think we will make some fuck ups in the future with AI/ML. And hopefully learn the limits of it and find a balance. Like we always seem to do.
Imagine if virtual assistants/bots could actually interact with the systems and some hacker managed to abuse the bots in order to do some malicious stuff
That would be a complete chaos
or the bot just simply makes a mistake π (bugs)
Hope the banks are hiring only the best programmers and not recent college graduates lol
Suits overwhelming skimp on IT. And security in general, including physical.
bruh am i dumb or are motherboard wifi atenas complete ass
you are not dumb
you are correct
6Mbps on a 72Mbps network absolute ass
that is why ethernet cables exist
well too bad they cant go trough walls and floors whit the power of nocliping
yep, good thing there is something called an attic, or the space between your walls, or a basement, and a drill, and some outlet cover panels
yea well i cant do that so im
im really questioning tho why my Alienware picks up fine and my shcool laptop picks up fine but yet my main pc cant grab any network to save its life
the simbol of disapointment
it jumps everyonce in a while but at that point id rather have 45/45 whit 150-200ms of ping than like 2-25mbps at like 5-30ms of ping
Try replacing your wifi card
Or use ethernet
how would i do that and its like 6 months from new
no its most likely covered
Where are the antennas
the io
1gb wifi my ass
It could be defective
And iirc if it is you can RMA the board
Do you have the antennas on securely
@pure karma
yea i do
Okay.
Yeah probably don't wanna swap it out
Without talking with the board manufacturer first
This should be covered under warranty
too bad there isent any
No warranty?
yea no
Okay then
Locate the antennas on the io shield.
Remove them. And then remove the motherboard
Once removed from your system there should be two screws neer the location of the adapter on the rear of the motherboard
well then im gonna have to remove everything else
You will need to order a replacement card
they dont have a physical card anywhere listed on the motherboard so i doubt its replacable
no its a gigabyte board
well if it is that cover isent removable
It is
unless its under the ud series badge
That's the chipset
So it's not under there
It could be possible
Disable the wifi card
And insert a Pcie one
i dont have a pcie one tho
Might have to buy one
But yeah
If you are technical enough
You could remove and replace the wifi chip
i have another wifi chip i can swap it out whit asuming i can reach it
could i perhapse conect a ethernet cable from computer to computer for better conection
here I thought you were getting "GBPS" ....
yea no i have fiber optic but its not THAT good
i was having an issue with my speeds dying off on my "Killer Network" onboard of an old ASUS board ... had to end up buying a cheapo ethernet card and now its solid
il consider it just the fitting is gonna be tight
you got a lot of other cards? or just the GPU ?
this is what i nabbed, if you want to squirrel away the idea: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ARJLWW4/
just one but its a 4070ti so its extra fat
its a solid controller ... and very tiny and comes with half height bracket too
right, because of my SB-Z card in the last pcie slot, and my monster 40xx gpu ... i have no more room in my game rig
it just sucks you cant use onboard networking when those fail π¦
seems to be a common issue ... like how they use crappy onboard audio chips, and crappy onboard ethernet chips ... like why guys, cant you just make the board a few bucks more and put some solid quality onboard stuff on ? π
well its a sub 200$USD Mobo so i guess it makes sense
nowadays your spending 800$ for basic things bruh
it goes there right?
if so yea thats gonna be a tight squeez
Okay when I really stress my cpu
It ends up pulling 187w
And sitting at 79c
But under average loads and even cinabench
It doesn't break 65c and 90w
But AVX2 with ooct pushes it to full power it seems
correct, just cause its a pcie 1x, doesnt mean it has to go into the tiny slot... it can be put into a giant slot at the far end of the board
its actually how i fit my SBZ, its a pcie1x, and i have it in a 16x slot on the end, so there is maximum distance between GPU...
Theres some programmers in here, can anyone recommend some good pink/blue striped thigh highs for someone tall
@me if you do cause i have this server muted due to not liking the white new message lines
something like that?
Suggestions for a 10gbit das? Debating between buying a prebuilt enclosure and/or building something with spare hardware I have sitting around
It'd probably be ~12tb usable in raid 5
nah he meant tall socks
And another uncorrected ECC error reboot last night, with no documentation about what caused it because AM5 AGESA is shitty...
Core 2 had error, core-cycler was on core 6 at that time, but might also be core 3, or Infinity Fabric, or RAM ECC...
Need to keep on this specific set of tests until I get an answer...
No idea.
As there isn't such model natively, it would probably need VBIOS mod too, which might not even be possible if that part of the VBIOS is signed.
there is the radeon RX5700Xt pro that is 16Gb
its the same die
identical to the 5700XT but twice the vram
and NAVI 1.0 has modifiable bioses
iirc
@twin dew sorry to disturb. But I want a second opinion on an issue a freind is having.
She owns the same card I did asrock Challenger D 6700XT 12GB CLD
And is having Hotspots exceeding 100c
And exceeding delta 30C
I have generally found information across techpowerup and amd forums that anything under 110 is normal. Bur the average load Hotspot is 90c.
Should she rma her card or wait till it gets worse.
That delta says that there is problem with the cooler contact.
So should try to get RMA for it.
Thank you.
Holy fuck people in amd server are thick headed as hell
I cite several sources.
And it's still. Oh it's not throttling so it's not a possible issue to warrant rma
It is possible, just harder to get.
Yeah
i could push my 6600XT to 108C, but that was definitely in the "ok i need to calm down" region. would usually sit in the mid-80s under high load
hottest i can get this 6800XT is mid 90s
Yeah
I think after having like 4 people on the server back me up the one idiot conceded.
I feel like an asshole for arguing it as hard as I did. I just don't want somone ending up like I did. With a dead asrock gpu and no warranty
Lets goo dice are here
not enough d12s

π
I got 4 of them already
Need more
one of my games i ended up having concealed, compact weapons in my armor, that let me keep the original damage dice, & i ended up needing 10 d12s
2 shoulder mounted cannons with 2d12 each, plus arm mounted cannons 3d12 each
I still haven't played my first game yet
i'm kidding about not having enough, d12 is one of the least used dice in D&D if that's what you're playing
And I'll play a druid focused on beating people with a spear
I'm still waiting on my metal dice too
i want to make a little plastic case for them so that i could put them on a keychain
what race were you thinking?
Oh I'm a wood elf
that's the kind of thing that i feel like doing an AI image thingy would be good for
Oh yeah already done
@night girder So much for AI bots

And a poem about the unabomber written by the codeπ
Maybe the bot thinks chevrolet is junk and that's why it recommended other brands. True intelligence imo
Yeah, I refuse to call this AI anymore. Fuck it. It's dumb as hell unless we code in what it can and cannot do. We (developer mostly) constantly have to hold the hand of "AI" else stuff goes wrong.
It doesn't think. It crawls the internet. Based on the internet it makes assumptions and it "learns".
So I imagine there are more possitive reviews about other brands than cevrolet. And you get this π
Guess it learned chevrolet is unreliable
When your own invention turns against you lol
haha π And Chevrolet uses chatGPT.
Like most brands, the chatbot is powered by AI, but rather than a basic system, this one uses Open AIβs now infamous Chat GPT software, a fact it proudly displays above the dialog box, alongside an option to speak to a human.
I would go for the option to speak to a human.
Need to find some good games to play while my vacation lasts this week
Need some sort of a machine to manipulate time and make an infinite vacation from work

If anything, this channel is super critical of AI
Use another launcher
With reason, but it does not have to be bad, the tech is cool, but needs proper refinement where it can't be applied yet.
I would just see it as another tool in the toolbox.
Yeah its absolutely a tool
Pretty good in some situations, pretty shit in others
Just like a hammer
Or a piece of tape
And people be erhmergerd, everyone will lose their jobs, I'm nope not happening.
is this still good
@inner shale how much did you drink?
You know it cold when cats dont touch the ground. Just going below -30C
Still rocking a 5820k server, my old tech isn't allowed to retire
It is a tool, but a lot of people make it a swiss army knife or Leatherman when it's more like a hammer or a pipe cutter.
Just like 3D printing is a tool with big popularity and narrow usecases, so is AI.
Has its ups, has its downs, needs to be analyzed very carefully on whether or not it's applicable.
And AI will cost people their jobs as much as automation did/does
AI customer support is already better than real human customer support it seems
least when it spits out canned responses, you know its just a BOT... and not some idiot human who isnt even reading what you said. so the overall anger level of customers is reduced, which helps them get through the support process better
i jest
i use bot as a deragatory term to label AI
It's wrong tho.
If that analysis system isn't AI driven, it's a clear difference
until AI march in their own parades and demand equality, i will continue to demean them
π
They'll kill you before it happens
Fair
Just use AI as a derogatory term

Have to disagree.
case by case.... OUR customer support is top notch π ... but like, trying to talk to steam or ubisoft .... EA ....
I have managed to break the ai support bots without even trying.

Does steam even have a create ticket anymore... last times I've tried I have given up because it's impossible to find.
depends for what? π but yeah, steam support is still a thing.
steam -> help -> steam support
There is no button create ticket.
And just loops to faq
Then what is that?
You can find your recent tickets π
But yeah, so the support works like this: 1) Generic question leads to FAQ. 2) If user clicks on "I still need help" or something along those lines, you can create ticket.
I wanted to update billing info (address) without making a purchase.
And I was UNABLE to.
The "steam support help site"
goes here
did you read last part
So it just loops back on itself...
"please go to the steam support help site and sumbit a support ticket detailing your purchasing problem"
but nonetheless. Shitty design. You should be able to change bill address easily. I read on the community that removing your payment and re-adding it might work.
This also goes back to...#off-topic-tech message
Would need a purchase, I tried so I gave up and just re did it on next purchase.
Anyways
haha you're poor
Those two cents are probably from selling trading cards for one cent.

wonder how much money steam makes on those trading cards.
Zero from me because I don't give a fuck.
yeah, I never buy em. But if you sell them. They also take a cut.
I know.
thousands of cards bought/sold and steam takes 2 pennies each transaction .... CHA CHING
even though they give out free cards during events ... selling them off means someone has to buy them, and steam gets their 2 pennies for each one sold off
like for my account .... i 'sell' off cards and use those funds to buy just a couple i wanted to complete a game with. i sell off more cards than i 'buy' so personally, i never spend a dime. however someone had to buy something somewhere along the lines, and steam would have taken their cut. its crazy thinking about it
hmm. i have to try redownloading FH5. it didnt pass a file check.
apparently something got modified during the download and windows quarintined it
you downloading it from steam?
no. downloading in a method i shouldint.
can't help there there
bittorrent (i litterally cannot afford FH5)
and yeah, pretty normal for Microsoft to quarantine it. Probably protecting you.
yeah good on defender for spotting it
or it recognizes that the files have been tampered with.
ive downloaded it before from the same source so i possibly had bad luck.
FDM recoginsed this. i ran a virus scan and defender found it.
or it contained a virus/spyware before, and now Defender knows about the virus
anyway, be carefull π
i assume steamrip is a decent source. Could have been bad luck. plus the torrent file looked slightly diffrendt from the normal ones
Poor guy, he could have just photoshoped the image of ramen and removed the chopsticks
hahahahahaha π the square sticks
I hope this is real and not made up. Even if it's made up, still pretty good sketch π
Considering the flaws of ChatGPT, I wouldn't be surprised
wtf, there is a video where he asks for a hamburger.
chatGPT gives image of cheesburger. So he asks again. Again, chatGPT gives a cheesburger.
He asks what the yellow thing is called between the cheesburger, chatGPT replies with "a pickle" π
clearly shows, it cannot reason. it has a predefined concept of a hamburger and won't deviate from it. So always adding the cheese. Even if you ask to remove it.
Wish I could test it in ChatGPT but I don't have the paid version and dall-e looks inferior
cba with making an account.
Dall-e made an inage without chopsticks but with a spoon
that's a little bit better π
MidJourney?
Damn, it's no longer free
is it me or can we only sign in with our google account for Midjourney? I don't see an option to make separate account.
Someone mentioned in the comments it can't generate an image without chopsticks because most images of ramen are with chopsticks but I don't think it's true
Unless it was really trained on images of ramen with chopsticks
Quick test.
It asked me for a permission to use discord
it seems to be 50/50. I see a lot of ramen photos without chopsticks
Either the guy is lying or chatgpt actually can't generate an image of ramen without chopsticks. Not sure tbh
If I had a paid account, I would test it right now
If this is true, then just type in ramen in google. Go to images and count.
chatGPT uses the same stuff, everything that's available on the internet afaik.
Also got a ratio of 50/50
but maybe chatGPT isn't well trained on ramen π
I don't know. I highly doubt it that chatGPT is trained with a single image of ramen to have a "concept" of ramen.
Speaking of ramen, I should ask @inner shale to buy me one of those korean spicy fire noodles
If I survived 5 times, I can do it again
why maxeek? go to a store π
*jk
He likes noodles. That's why I mentioned him
For a moment I though you didn't have access to spicy noodles π
Don't worry, I have
Sri lankan food killed me when I asked for extra spice
It's funny how the restaurant serving sri lankan food in the capital city is also the top restaurant on tripadvisor
Been there. It's really good but you shouldn't be cocky and order extra spice like I did lol
Haha π₯ π
