#

I had a fuck amd attitude for a while, until I realized that onedrive was fucking it all up

night girder
#

like disabling hardware acceleration in discord might fix the symptoms, doesn't mean it was the actually problem.

#

and also, why did it only happen with GW 2 so far πŸ€”

#

I alt + tabbed a lot when I played RD2. Maybe I didn't had discord open.

night girder
edgy hazel
#

I use it so πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

night girder
edgy hazel
#

It's a terabyte of storage

charred pewter
#

true, and it might be why the bug exists... how many people play GW2 and alt-tab to Discord a lot to trigger it...

edgy hazel
#

It's actually very useful

charred pewter
#

games do weird things when alt-tabbed ... look at basically every Ubisoft game. alt-tabbing is so unpredictable what happens πŸ˜„

#

heck, even just LAUNCHING a ubisoft game, i get different results sometimes !

night girder
charred pewter
night girder
#

yeah, my NAS. It has a cloud application to sync files across devices.

charred pewter
#

but its not a cloud 'out there' though ...

night girder
#

I can use it from my phone if I want. Anywhere I want, aslong as I have internet. But the same goes for cloud.

charred pewter
#

sort of a 'local cloud' but remotely accessible ...

night girder
#

a cloud is just a server you access remotely

charred pewter
#

well, to me, a cloud would be a server that is ALWAYS remote (thus never in danger of being burned down with your house along with your computer)

edgy hazel
#

Yeah I currently don't want all my shit saved on a server made by a novice

night girder
#

But Synology calls it a private cloud.

charred pewter
#

right

night girder
#

If I want, I can back-up my NAS to other cloud services πŸ€”

charred pewter
#

hehe

#

we use some of google drive space for just storing shit... google gave us 200TB to work with

#

its amazing how much space psd files eat up

#

especailly after 30 years

night girder
#

I have single psd files of multiple GB

charred pewter
#

publishers will email us 200gb psd files too 😦

#

for "one game"

night girder
#

yup, the cost of quality

charred pewter
#

its certainly nice to get layers and high res... can really do a lot with those parts

night girder
#

you can probably print those on a canvas the size of a building. Because it has so many pixels.

charred pewter
#

instead of a publisher who is like "eh, just use google images"

#

(and yes, we have some like that lol)

#

its goes back to what you said about why a company wont fill out the specs on amazon right ......

#

there is an amazing lot of publishers/companies that simply do the minimal work

#

like how hard is it to get the specs from the developers... how hard is it to type those into a page detail on a storefront ... do you not want to sell the product?

night girder
#

it frustrates the hell out of me

#

how am I, as a consumer, know how to buy what, if you don't get the full picture of a product?

charred pewter
#

you are supposed to find the product specs on the mfg website and look there ... a website that insists on putting their details in a mile long scrolling "text (image)" "(image) text" format

#

πŸ™„

night girder
#

to me, it more looks like a scam. Because I can look up the specs on the real website? But what if the product on amazon is a fake.

#

and that's why the specs are different? πŸ˜’

charred pewter
#

yup!

#

or the SAME product is listed THREE times with the SAME details !??!?!

#

its hard for the actual storefront to currate thousands of products at once, it really is reliant on the product seller (provider/publisher/etc) to provide accurate/clear details for their own product page

night girder
#

When I was looking up fans*, I noticed that the airflow. Was different accross multiple retailers.

#

So yeah, that's when I looked up the fan at brand website itself. But still confusing as hell.

#

Means you cannot trust it and have to verify it yourself.

charred pewter
#

indeed 😦

#

newegg is really notorious for really bonkers details on products

#

and they have a 'compare' feature too! and when you compare three boards for example, its all over the place on specs

night girder
#

and nobody really cares, except a few of us, and that's why it keeps happening.

charred pewter
#

yeah, they also dont have anyway to report content errors to like crowd source

#

we sorta do, anyone can write a support ticket mentioning a product page has wrong info ... its rare, but some people let us know and we fix it pronto

#

generally though its ok, if not lacking in the system requirements department

night girder
#

now you mention it, I sometimes wonder if it makes even sense to report stuff

#

I always think that tickets go in some void.

charred pewter
#

you wonder on some sites... like when i report a stream being corrupted on amazon prime.... does it GO ANYWHERE

night girder
#

and even if it does go anywhere, probably ignored.

charred pewter
#

Bosch Legacy Season 2 Ep 4 was corrupted as fuck, and i reported it...

#

still corrupted as fuck lol

#

all the other eps in the season are FINE

night girder
#

wtf

#

Amazon Prime?

charred pewter
#

yeah, Amazon Prime Video

night girder
#

figures hehe

#

it's like the cheapo version of Netflix sometimes

charred pewter
#

i have an amazon prime subscription... its my ONLY subscription to anything paid streaming

night girder
#

I had one.

charred pewter
#

im so frugal its ridiculous ..... my normal broadcast tv channels, i get over the air free using an antenna

#

i wont pay my ISP to 'stream local channels' to me .... lol

#

they want $15/mo for thost 7 channels

edgy hazel
#

You don't have Amazon lockers near you?

charred pewter
#

i dont sub to apple+ disney+ mgm+ netflix paramount+ ... all those damned services .... lol

edgy hazel
night girder
#

Amazon Prime Video content really depends on region/country. To me, it wasn't that interesting. Not a lot of content suited for me. Also, since I live in Belgium half the shit is in French. But I speak Flemish! And they don't even provide subtitles or nothing. Amazon is like every person in Belgium speaks French. hehe

charred pewter
#

i do, its in the heart of a college campus, very difficult to reach (unless you go there for school)

charred pewter

night girder
#

still funny though πŸ˜›

#

good example of thinking out of the box.

edgy hazel
#

Like the dude buying tons of ladybugs and releasing them, having to pay 250k

#

Which actually was real

night girder
#

The Ladybug Raid refers to a series of viral videos by TikToker @arkeslo who in April 2022 purportedly bought and released 100 million ladybugs into New York City's Central Park, purchasing them for $75. After prompting his followers to comment "Ladybug Raid πŸ‘Ή," he stated that he'd actually released them, was allegedly charged with a lawsuit for environmental terrorism and then fled the country for Colombia to avoid house arrest. The stunt was originally performed in late 2020. In 2022, it was later revealed to be a hoax, perpetrated by verified TikToker h1t1.

#

Seems it was a hoax.

soft bloom
#

anybody with experience in visualizing logarithmic data?

edgy hazel
soft bloom
#

The heck you do when there's a bunch of data on a huge scale, and you need to display it in a way that will show cumulative result per time bins without compromising the scale?

#

heck even asking is hard

midnight osprey
#

lol

#

I don't have an answer but you made me giggle

#

struggling to form the question I have had that recently

soft bloom
#

i understand my consciousness forgot why there was a problem because it was too unfathomable

#

So, imagine a bunch events. each having some value that easily goes from thousands to billions
there's also a second parameter that is linear, and a timestamp
How do you display that series in a nice timely bins to see how they evolve over time, without giving up on small changes?

wanton orchid
#

it's lacking too much context
what kind of display are you talking about
what kind of app/location you want that to happen
in what program part you want to implement that
are you asking for implementation or are you really struggling with the idea of logarithmic scale ?

#

I mean if you want to show Y as logarithmic
then show log(Y) instead. done

#

10,000 label will be at log(10,000) location

charred pewter
#

derp

#

wake up to maths... noooo ... brain screams n hides...

#

brb, gotta quit discord so i can run a backup, or discord crashes my mac πŸ˜„

soft bloom
wanton orchid
#

does not change the question nor the answer

#

if you think there are too many event to show a graph off of it
it's another problem

soft bloom
soft bloom
#

that works nicely with linear parameter over time

wanton orchid
#

then it's easy
accumulate it through log(value)

soft bloom
#

because i can see count of event for each small bin of that param and time, displayed in color

wanton orchid
#

or it's the accumulation that needs to be log ?

#

all that is setting of your graph software

soft bloom
wanton orchid
#

if you show the sum
and you need the show on log scale
then log the sum

#

but again, the scales on your thing must match too

soft bloom
#

there was an idea that i can display density heatmap of count of event per time bins and log(value) bins.
it works, but there's a problem that, visually, 10 events of log(10) seem as significant as 10 events of log(10000000)

wanton orchid
#

it's a rendering problem not a data problem

wanton orchid
#

It's like you were in a car engine and was wondering how make it grip the road
just unstuck your head off of here
the road grip is at wheel level job
engine location is not for that

#

it's a rendering problem not a data problem

#

you want to render it on logarithmic scale then tell you rendering software to do that

soft bloom
# wanton orchid that means you didn't log the sum

yes, that example is when there are bins for log(value), and we simply count how many events are in each of them over time.
that is differrent idea from what i'm trying to achieve (which is not defined cause at the moment its more of "i'm not happy, i need to do better")

wanton orchid
#

the heatmap is logarithmic then
not the data fed into it

soft bloom
#

what exactly you mean by "log heatmap"?

soft bloom
wanton orchid
#

you want the sum of even
so it's logical
you can't throw log at this
but once summed
you want to show that on logarithmic scale
so your heatmap rendering is done with log(sum) for each dot

soft bloom
wanton orchid
#

it's a matter of what rendering software you are using

#

what is even this question

#

I can't know what you are doing or using if you don't tell

wanton orchid
#

it's like if you were asking me "can the engine support twice the speed"
like what even are you talking about
your car engine maybe
your rocket engine maybe not

#

Unreal engine will have some bug

soft bloom
soft bloom
midnight osprey
wanton orchid
#

4 different things

#

4 different steps

#

you should not confuse them

#

input data is : event log and timing database
data processing is : summing up the event per time slices, to get the number of event for some time slices
processed data : the number of event per time slice
rendering : showing that data on a logarithmic scale

#

the data on a logarithmic scale ONLY happen at RENDERING graph stage

#

not before

#

otherwise you are just confusing everything and changing your data (instead of just showing the actual data in some different way)

#

and that rendering is done with the rendering software, and you still didnt say what software you are using, and you still try to ask how to CHANGE YOUR DATA
instead of how to render it

#

you do NOT want to change your data AT ALL

soft bloom
wanton orchid
#

data processing, or rendering
depend if you want to use that years for processing other data, or if it is simply a human readable conversion

#

make the number human readable : rendering
use the result to process data : data processing

night girder
#

Just when I though I had my system stable. It crashed while I was afk and downstairs 😦

#

I can run a stress test in adrenalin while running a game, doesn't make it crash. So I don't think it's GPU related. Or PSU for that matter (drawing too much power).

#

I ruled out my memory. So, then it must be CPU. Or faulty PSU.

edgy hazel
#

u done the sfc and dism already?

night girder
#

Like how the fuck can my PC crash when I am AFK in a city. Like I wasn't even playing.

#

This sounds more like a memory leak or something.

edgy hazel
#

I bet storage

night girder
#

but I had instances it crashed pretty quickly too. Or maybe multiple things are causing the crashes.

night girder
wanton orchid
#

random crashs have a psu fault taste if any data check have no errors
it must be bsod or crash reset/restart
psu fault almost never hang

edgy hazel
#

Have you tried disabling swap?

night girder
edgy hazel
#

Any I think it's a storage issue. Have you tried tmrunning the game from another drive?

wanton orchid
#

the PSU fault test is, with no specific load :

  • operating time degeneration
  • per try operating time randomness
  • and long term use exponential degeneration
if it quickly becomes worse and worse so it resets after 2 min with no load
then it would feel very much like psu
wanton orchid
#

the trick is : with no load
with no software loading of any kind

#

when it's storage it often goes with something trying to launch or close

night girder
#

shouldn't be the case since it's brand new PSU

wanton orchid
#

I had a brand new server class advertised shit psu once
I'm sorry to tell new does not always mean good

night girder
#

like if I run 3Dmark or anything. Shouldn't that make my PC crash too πŸ€”

night girder
#

It just confuses the hell out of me why it's only happening for this old ass game

wanton orchid
#

does not happen when nothing is running ?

#

in random app ?

night girder
#

never

wanton orchid
#

ok then probably not psu

night girder
#

only when I have GW2 running. RD2 no problem. Hogwarts, it did crash but only game. And I think it was a setting.

wanton orchid
#

when psu it really is random in regards to load

charred pewter
#

oooo

wanton orchid
#

sometimes even load can make it better

night girder
#

The only only only thing I can think of is this.

#

Yesterday I disable discord hardware acceleration and I had GW2 running for 6-7 hours straight. So I though, problem fixed.

charred pewter
#

buggin out again huh 😦

night girder
#

Today, when I was AFK, I had discord open, firefox and GW2. I come back and I see my PC rebooted. There is this 0.00001% that it was firefox hardware acceleration this time.

#

So now I disabled firefox hardware acceleration too.

night girder
#

My last resorts are updating the bios.

#

and disabling some hardware error capturing stuff on my mobo.

#

so maybe I can spot more information in eventviewer.

night girder

But is it possible that if I alt + tab, GW2 is put into a lower priotity for the GPU, when I tab back to GW2, I notice a freeze, but not a crash. Can it be that going from iddle GW2 + iddle GPU -> not idle cause a power issue?

#

because most crashes are related to either me alt+tabbing or changing settings for the game. All GPU related.

edgy hazel
night girder
#

Fuck, should have stayed with Nvidia 🀣

charred pewter
#

naw, nvidia suffers the same issue if its a hardware voltage issue (like i was having)

night girder

and just when I said that I crashed

charred pewter

maybe try giving your card a wee more juice in uh ... whatever lets you do that on amd

night girder

for real. I typed it out. Alt+tabbed to GW2 and bam crash hehe

its that ML code... it saw you complaining again, and it is like ILL SHOW YOU!!!

The alt + tabbing causing most oof the crashes now.

And they had divinity 1 and 2. Which were reviewed possitively. And they gained shit ton of experience. BG3 is build on that experience AND they had a long ass early access.

and how about Bethesda ... trying to tell reviewers that they where wrong? lol

But the AAA devs that are saying it's impossible are unfounded

AAA devs say that. Because they don't get any breathing room from higher ups and investors when they develop. So if they go to investors, we need more time, they don't get it. Main reason probably why they could never deliver such a game 🀣

edgy hazel
#

Also Larian is a privately owned Company without billions of operating cost/year

#

This is an apples to oranges comparison

night girder
#

I was mainly replying to "But AAA devs saying that we shouldn't expect this level of quality from their games is bs".

The whole point of AAA is that it is supposed to be like this

edgy hazel
#

a AAA studio still can't put all their resources into one game

jagged snow
jagged snow
night girder
#

I am getting PTSD again.

edgy hazel
#

If Larian fucked up their BG3 marketing for example, the studio would be gone and a lot of people would be out of a job. Now imagine that on a AAA scale

night girder
#

AAA companies trying to sell average games as "next generation mind blowing" games. They lowered the bar. Not us gamers. Or maybe we kinda did by buying the crap.

night girder
jagged snow
#

But I'm a little bit biased anyways, I'm very loyal to a select few games, and the newest among them is satisfactory. I'm not really "in" the AAA/major releases scene

jagged snow

Noctua, sirracha, etc don't do any marketing at all

#

And they're still very well known brands

night girder
#

From my perception, Larian is pretty lean with the marketing. Not too much. Not too less.

jagged snow
night girder
#

Let the game speak for itself.

jagged snow

There were a lot of streamers/youtubers that got sponsored to play the game once and turned it into a series from their own volition

"game good, game fun, game be worth it πŸ‘ " - my normal review when i dont feel like elaborating

exactly

night girder

So whats the point of the review?

languid gulch

if it's a fun game, then it's worth it

corpse launches are never intended, but my god they can make a game so much better

charred pewter

right, and how many people read that ?

night girder

Yes I do 🀣

#

That's the whole point of a review in my opinion!

gilded helm
night girder
#

Like, if I read a car review. I don't want to read: "car drives, car good" πŸ‘

charred pewter
#

i mean if im looking for an in depth review of a new game, i generally head to an actual article written somewhere.... i dont look for it in steam reviews

languid gulch
#

i'll watch a playthrough if i'm interested enough before buying, that's how i can tell if it's going to be a game i can ejnjoy

charred pewter
#

in steam reviews i like to glance over them to see if there is a specific trend im seeing .....

night girder
#

I do both πŸ˜›

charred pewter
#

like a game is 'generally short, but its fun enough' ... i may skip since its too short

#

or many reviews just saying 'crashes like your mom on crack' ... then i will be like, ah, game needs updates before they get my money

#

also have to take some reviews with a grain of salt, or 'consider the source' ......

#

"lul car go bom" ... im gonna prolly ignore that review πŸ˜„

#

and theres TONS of crappy poorly spelled one-liners like that in elden ring reviews

gilded helm
#

Heh, I'm excited for Phantom Liberty, but I've also realized I needn't be in a hurry since it looks like they're still finalizing some things.

charred pewter
#

im waiting till the first 'sale' for that DLC, then i'll nab it

languid gulch
#

& some games might not be exactly what you find perfect, but it's decent enough & if your friends are playing it, it's worth doing

charred pewter

true, peer pressure

night girder

The second review I ever posted on steam:

languid gulch

pretty sure we all have Gmod & would go right back to it in a heartbeat 🀣

gilded helm

I even thought about waiting longer for Witcher 3 because it still feels wonky. It's fine, just don't do DX12.

charred pewter
#

i mean the only reason i got eldenring and tried it... is so many people were like 'omg you gotta play this it rocks!' .... but then i got past the tutorial and was in the real game and found it completely not-fun after that

night girder
#

The games are known for not holding hands at all. They just drop you in a world. Good luck. 🫑

charred pewter
#

naw, the bad frame rate, the clunky combat, the stupid difficulty... to name a few πŸ˜„

languid gulch
#

yea, i like to enjoy games, not be punished for buying it

charred pewter
#

it just rubbed me wrong and i was finding no enjoyment out of it

#

no enjoyment then i question why im playing it

night girder
#

Eh, it's satisfying once the games aren't punishing you anymore. But you are the one doing the punishing.

#

It had a steep learning curve for me.

#

Well, it's normal. Can't please everyone.

charred pewter
#

i mean, if i look at "ELEX" (the first one), it was extremely difficult in early levels, random rats would kick your ass .... but it at least progressed to where you became stronger to where you kicked butt and chewed bubble gum. after reading some things about the relentless boss fights in elden ring not getting any easier as you proress, and i just lost interest

night girder
edgy hazel
#

Sometimes you don't want to become better

charred pewter
#

even if i wanted to try it again, there is still the crappy frame rate which honestly DID ruin my own personal enjoyment in a game πŸ˜‰ regardless what you may think about 60fps lol

night girder

I am just saying: I am used to it. I don't care how much I payed. I want to have fun in games. And if Elden Ring runs at 60, I am happy.

edgy hazel
#

That's cool and I have standards

#

this is just nice

charred pewter
#

i like ot have fun in a game too πŸ™‚ and be immersed ... but when something keeps yanking me out of immersion ... well ... i get annoyed

#

kinda like in hogwarts in hogsmede when the npc pathing starts jerking the gameplay real bad... totally yanks me out of being sucked into that world

#

then i realize what time it is... forgot i ate, then quit the game and go make dinner

night girder
charred pewter
#

and wtf theres some moron out in his car parked on the street talking on his bluetooth phone and full volume... uh... does the ENTIRE NEIGHBORHOOD need to listen to your conversation about hemorrhoids ?!?!

night girder
charred pewter

im all typos today

night girder

And I get it that it sucks to get ripped out of immersion. It just doesn't happen to me. So it is what it is.

What does suck me out of my immersion is a full PC crash hehe

Long story short: when I play GW2 my PC freeze and hard resets. Or soft whatever. Black screen. And then boot logo. Most of the time it happens when I alt + tab.

when you crash are in/doing the same thing in GW2

My monitor doesn't support it.

charred pewter

yeah if your monitor doesnt support something, no reason turning it on

prolly on by defaults

night girder

but I can see it causing issues. That at certain points, (when I alt + tab) it wants to use freesync technology, my monitor goes FUUUUCK, PC doesn't know what to do and restarts.

thats a stretch πŸ˜„

or when I change the graphic settings, I can see freesync also kicking in.

but it's also mostly just the works side 😦

edgy hazel
#

well I wouldn't say that

#

just expensive

#

new nvidia cards aren't that much better regarding errors

night girder
edgy hazel
#

my boss got a 4090

night girder
edgy hazel
#

returned it a week later

night girder
#

Frigid.

#

Get the 4090 and tell us how it goes 🀣

night girder
edgy hazel
#

it just stopped outputting video

night girder
#

I don't know how much your boss knows about hardware. The 4090 is power hungry.

edgy hazel
#

he got a 1200W PSU

night girder
jagged snow
edgy hazel
#

nah it just bricked itself

dire igloo
#

Did he DDU

edgy hazel
#

he doesn't overclock or is into that stuff at all

#

yes

#

he put it into a different machine too

night girder
#

but yeah, point made.

#

Nvidia can suck too.

edgy hazel
#

if you want RT and DLSS go nvidia, if you want to be able to afford the card go AMD. AMD people just tend to be much louder about issues

night girder
#

or maybe amd has a slighty higher issue ratio.

#

didn't you had issues at one point herg?

jagged snow
#

Nvidia just has much better brand trust as well. When I see AMD people have an issue, they tend to blame it on the hardware, whereas intel & nvidia owners will tend to blame it on anything but the hardware

night girder
#

can vaguely remember you mentioning something earlier today or past few days.

edgy hazel
edgy hazel
#

I had the exact same symptoms as you

#

random crashes and timeouts

dire igloo
edgy hazel
#

it's like linux users being way louder than windows

jagged snow
#

Except that's usually the opposite

night girder
edgy hazel
night girder
#

especially if I switched from AMD to Nvidia for example. And AMD was a rock solid experience.

#

we'll see how it goes with the crashes. If I can get a stable system. I am a happy man.

edgy hazel
#

I mean my shit is rock solid

#

all crashes I had were OCs gone bad

night girder
#

else, I might have to do a few more things. Full clean reinstall. And if that doesn't work. I have to think about hardware.

#

I didn't even OC 😦

night girder
#

Lower price, people assume it's lower quality.

#

If then weird issues start to happen, it must be a "bullshit product".

charred pewter
#

heh

#

as a side note..... whatever i spent on my 3080 ... ive not actually had any issues with it, no crashes, no lockups, no driver bails.... it just works. albiet not as fast as like a 4080 .... but ... i mean as a card goes, its been 'trouble free'

edgy hazel
#

Remember when AMD raised their prices for the 6000 series and everyone lost their shit and then Nvidia came with a 2.5k gpu

charred pewter
#

LOL then people like 'oh ok, amd rise aint so bad'

edgy hazel
#

Yea

charred pewter
#

seriously ... 2.5k for a single gpu

#

even a cheap one from gigasmack for 2k is still crazy

edgy hazel
#

Or the 2020 ebay prices which still feel like a fever dream

charred pewter
#

and that one is most like a 50/50 roll of the die you get a broken card due to a shitty build

#

gigablows is how i refer to everything they make, and i know i know ... 'model not brand' ... but honestly... in this case, that brand is just junk πŸ˜‰

#

sad evga bailed on nvidia 😦

night girder
#

evga didn't bail on nvidia

charred pewter
#

they took their ball and went home

#

big bad nvidia bullies made them call it quits πŸ˜„

night girder
#

Or, as Han put it, β€œThis? This is easy. Working with Nvidia was hard.”

#

Bailing made it sound like evga betrayed Nvidia while it was the otherway around.

charred pewter
#

yeah, when you have to work with a toxic company ... it becomes unfun quick

#

no... bailing means 'you guys fuckin suck, we gone! BYE!'

edgy hazel
#

bro an AMD EVGA card would have stopped the ukraine war

charred pewter
#

lol

night girder
#

Like bailing on your friends.

charred pewter
#

evga switching to AMD would have seriously made some heads urn

#

ah, i guess bailing can go both ways

night girder
#

lost in translation πŸ˜„

charred pewter
#

depends on context πŸ˜‰

#

evga bailing on evga was 'a good thing'.... bailing on your friends is 'a bad thing'

night girder
#

yeah, but I do wonder if it's so bad. How do other companies deal with it?

charred pewter
#

like, asus ?

edgy hazel
#

other income sources

charred pewter
#

prolly deal with the same shit from nvidia... i highly doubt nvidia is not an equal opportunity asshole

night girder
#

But like evga said Nvidia is hard to work with. If this is true, it also must be for the other companies.

charred pewter
#

yup

night girder
#

Man corporations…

charred pewter
#

a business that is a pain to work with, is generally going to be a pain with anyone else that tries to work with them

night girder
#

Well, Nvidia has to really fuck up to lose its position at this point

charred pewter
#

they may be fine being the only ones who can sell nvidia hardware ..... who knows, they may secretely want that, but they allow other companies to make the cards so they dont get slapped with unfair blah blah monopoly blah

#

they just make it so painfully difficult to work with, that not many DO ... thus fulfilling their own desires as a result

#

🀷 .... i dont know the full extent of what went down between evga and nvidia though ... not sure anyone has the real big picture and all the details

jagged snow
charred pewter
#

LMAO ... the asus rog 4090 went up to $2999 now

jagged snow
#

Because remember, the AIB card has an entire extra company that it needs to support off of its margins and it's usually of higher quality compared to the fe design.

charred pewter
#

the 50x series isnt due out till 2025 right ?

jagged snow
#

Or late 2024

#

They've slowed down their production cycles so much now

charred pewter
#

making bank off current models, why innovate?

#

no competition in performance? raise prices and not make new models?

jagged snow
#

According to jensen, they're "no longer a computer graphics company" because of the massive AI shift. The vast majority of their efforts are giong to the datacenter now.

charred pewter
#

ah

#

well then .....

night girder
edgy hazel
charred pewter
#

AMD needs to step up their game and stop making shit cards 🀣 right Letterdief?

edgy hazel
#

the majority of nvidias income is datacenter

charred pewter
#

crazy

jagged snow
night girder
edgy hazel
jagged snow
night girder
#

not gaming

charred pewter
#

i think if they dont focus on gpus, then the market wont grow because there is LESS competition

jagged snow
charred pewter
#

poop

#

and whats this Intel gpu coming along ... is that just a complete pipe dream?

jagged snow
edgy hazel
#

intel GPUs is only for scaring AMD into lowering their budget GPUs

#

keeps em in check

#

cuz we all know nvidia doesn't give a shit

night girder
#

and amd only cares becaue they have too hehe

edgy hazel
#

4060 12GB

night girder
edgy hazel
#

never said that

night girder
#

interpretation my friend

#

it's a social skill

edgy hazel
#

and you failed the skillcheck

night girder
#

or you

charred pewter
#

4060 12gb is nvidia giving a shit??? naw... thats just them tossing something out at still a too-high price for the budget builders

edgy hazel
#

nobody in here has any reading comprehension what is happening

charred pewter
#

as a side, buying a 4060 is 100% a waste of money

night girder
#

it's nvidia

edgy hazel
#

4060 8gb and 12gb is like a 200$ difference

#

which is crazy

night girder
#

can always resell it hehe

charred pewter
#

"you cant do anything with just 8gb of ram" β€” Apple Users

edgy hazel
#

these apple prices are getting out of control
