when you are making phase 4 parts for example, its much easier to throw phase 3 parts in boxes as opposed to building a bigger temporary system

i just put the constituent parts in a storage container and feed them into their assemblers/manufacturers/etc until it's full. Saves a ton of time/resources/power, i wouldn't call it dividends really
He keeps saying hell redesign it at some point but he is about 30 hours in now and still has to start on it
past a certain point, if you are lacking for power, thats kind of a problem you have created for yourself

if you are building temporary stuff, you are building stuff to make those parts anyway, whats the advantage of making it temporary?
i'd rather spend my time building factories for parts i need to advance tech than one time use parts for an elevator i can just use storage to make quickly
But how about exploring the map and seeing the number of elevators parts slowly climb up while knowing it had to pass through a ridiculous amount of machinery
elevator parts is usually just another machine among the rest
diverting small amounts of resources from existing factories to make elevator parts is pretty easy though
Aside from "because i want to/it's fun for me," which is absolutely your prerogative, i see no point in making elevator parts from ore to final product

1.2 elevator modifyer game mode gives you a good reason to automate
if i stand at the edge of my factory, facing away at the nature, I get about 80-90 FPS, but as soon as i turn around, even if i cant see much, my FPS will drop to ~50. BUT, if i fly up and get as much of my factory in view as possible, il get a grand total of 40 FPS D:

I placed my steel factory in the worst place possible in hindsight. Im planning to use the trains for iron and coal transport to it on a singular line.

My belts for that factory are 15km in total I think. It sucks
yeah i think for me having all my factories self contained and one of every item having an output
the only thing a train would do would be to bring far away raw resources to the factory
rebuild it (evil intentions)

There are no plans to add new phases/milestones/resources/etc, outside of hypothetical "DLC" or "Satisfactory 2" or whatever type things, which have not been announced or even hinted at
I like how factorio space age did it. Something similiar for statisfactory would be awesome but we'll see

the radio tower helps to reveal where are the nodes such as copper and iron, it also helps to tell if there are hard drives and spheres and somersloops but doesnt show the exact location of those items, you can construct the tower and give it power and will show the stuff, not sure how much area covers but i suggest putting far enough that 2 radio towers' area doesnt overlap with the other

it always seems to happen that my last two machines in a manifold run at 48-52 percent when I run the lines the same way. I've thorougly checked the belts and mergers this time. I do have a lot of mismatches between the side and main belts, but all of the side belts are faster than the input speed of the machine they're heading into, so I really don't have any other explanation for it.

My main belt is mk.2 and the side belts coming off the manifold are mk.1

sounds like you have a flow issue somewhere
you likely have a low mk belt hidden inside a splitter
you prob have a lower tier belt limting it then
don't put splitters directly onto belts
and if you do, rebuild all the connections immediately

because you can get hidden bits of low mk belt inside that don't get upgraded
similar with pipes , if you build junctions or pumps directly on the pipe, rebuild the connection, you can get weird flow issues otherwise
But if you make the mk 2 belt and then place the splitters, there can't be mk.1 belt? It's not an upgraded line. I only placed mk.2's

you're also building mk1 belts as inputs, it's likely you accidentally built the wrong mk on the main line

if you ever see a fancy build, you can assume the person actually built like 5x the number of objects to place everything right and deleted most of it immediately after

thanks to nudging that often isn't necessary anymore
that said, I still often build extra objects instead of nudging because it's faster or more intuitive
I'll try to remember when I need to do the setup for my next build. Essentially you can clip a merger/splitter visually through a lift and perpendicular belt that puts the mergers in just such a way that it appears to be visually flush with a machine and thus taking up no horizontal space and minimal vertical space.
I've only ever been able to get it to look visually appealing doing it this way.
Most every machine has stuff on the output that if you make anything "flush" it is automatically clipping visually into said stuff.

Yeah, I legit don't understand the desire to put them on foundations. I can "get" basically all other aesthetic choices folks make, but miners-on-foundations are just nonsensical to my brain. Some folks like to do it though! :)
I do like making the miners perpendicular to the world grid, and the foundations make that really easy.

To each their own. I really like lining things up and have a light of straight lines, which you can do without the world grid, but it's so much easier to just snap to it every time.
This is what makes this game so great you can just do what ever and others may not like it but you can do as you can

Though I admit that I practically never actually link up remote factories with foundations in the first place. My rail tends to be of the "disconnected pillar" methodology

does anyone know why my water extractors that are attached top my coal generators wont fill? My coal generators have water, but the pumps themselves wont stay full
If you're supplying the coal gens with exactly the amount of water they need, the internal buffers on the water extractors might not ever fill up
The only time the water extractors' internal buffers would fill up is if the water they're producing isn't being consumed at the same rate
It's true that "full pipes are happy pipes," so it might be worth flipping a few coal gens to "standby" mode while the pipes (and, sure, maybe even the Extractors' buffers) fill up
But if the coal gens are working, and getting all the water they need, then you're probably good.
gotcha, i have put the generators on stand by and let the entire system fill, but they just end up emmtying again. But ii guess the generstors are running so not a huge deal for now

If you're having problems keeping your coal gens supplied, a post in #1038092680493801533 with good pictures is generally the best way to debug it. Remember that you can detach the camera while in photo mode, to get nice overhead shots

There's no doubt everything can be made to be functional without trains. However, depending on the device you're playing on. one conveyor belts like that can be very problematic because of the number of entities.
my pc is i5 8th gen 2,4 ghz, 16gb ram, gtx1050, and is a laptop, i played at minimun with 30 fps and with that option of optimizing entities of belts
The tunnel rat (a user here) famously processes the entire world of any given resource in a facility and does not use trains at all. Bauxite for example

Quick question, how many versatile frameworks/min is a good amount to design a factory to complete phase 3?
As with so much in this game, entirely up to you. What I generally do is set a target "completion time" for the elevator delivery and then build the factory to suit. (Potentially re-evaluating my target time, if the factory ends up being bigger than I feel like making)
For instance, Phase 3 VFs require 2500 to be delivered, and my usual target tends to be "2 hours". 2500/120 =~ 20/min
So I'd likely personally shoot for 20/min

Some folks don't even bother fully automating the SE parts, fwiw; since there's only a set amount required for most of them, you can technically just set up a machine and "hand feed" it via a few storage containers, if you like
You'll need more of them for the Phase4+5 parts, so it's more than 2500 total that you'll need to make, but it's a somewhat popular strategy regardless

Yeah, you can ignore Path Signals if you want, though later on you may want to "upgrade" your intersections to using Path.
40m is probably a bit overkill; I personally wouldn't go much lower than like 100m
Though by the same token, every 40m is unlikely to hurt. It's generally recommended that you keep your blocks at least as long as your longest train, just so stopped trains only "use up" the single block they're in, but honestly even that doesn't really matter that much
I just spend half an hour tracing back my new motor factoryline to figure out why it isnt running for shit. In the end I trace it back to a iron output issue, very confused I walk over to the miner/smelter setup to figure out a didnt plug in one the miners hahaha
yeah maybe i overestimated the capability of my trains to crash with themselves
In the end, resources are infinite, so it hardly matters if you over-build on signals. :P
I suppose one more consideration: if you do start upgrading intersections to Path Signals eventually, you do generally want the block leading up to the path signal to be reasonably long
It takes a bit of time for a train to reserve a path through a Path-Signal'd intersection, and it does so while it's in the block right before it. If the block is too short, the train will slow down even if there's no train anywhere near it, while that reservation happens
Though honestly even that isn't gonna matter. If your train route is so sensitive that its destination will start starving if your train loses a few seconds, you should probably add an extra freight car anyway, to give yourself some more headroom. :)

Yeah the vanilla plastic/rubber recipes have a liquid byproduct you'd turn into something else to keep the factory from clogging. It's kind of the introduction into that sort of thing for this game
the good news is it's pretty easy to make rubber, plastic, and come out ahead on power anyway

You can also choose which truck stop on the path certain vehicles stop at.
So if you have 2 resources coming from 1 location, you can load them into 2 separate stops at pickup, then have Truck A pickup from Station 1 and drop off at Station 3 while Truck B picks up from Station 2 and drops off at Station 4 all on the same route.

If you're in Phase 1 that would be why you cannot complete Phase 2, because you have to complete Phase 1 first to actually be in Phase 2 so you can work on/complete Phase 2.

i got the reinforced plates the other side of the map close to the sea, my rotors at the middle of the map

So you'd just need to bring the two together, or manually put them into an assembler
Build an Assembler and hook it into the Space Elevator.
Take 1k of each of those and put in containers hooked to that Assembler.
Let it run.
There is no need to fully automate Project Parts given how little of them you need.

you do have 2km of airspace pon average to build in
i discovered pwer slugs from a while, but just got to use them, i think they dont get consumed, but is there going to be an issue of managing them due to them being limited and my machines being so large in quantities?
So two things with that:
When you get somersloop production, you can double your power shards output, so try and get that
And also lizard doggos can occasionally bring you slugs

Generally speaking phase parts are used to make other phase parts. You can also use them for points (youll understand when you unlock that) all parts are usefull and production can continue forever
Before around the time you're capable of making a nuclear plant, you should consider everything to be infinite and just go get more of it. Before that time, you don't have the technology, knowledge, or tools needed to max out anything.
TL;DR no until late game.
And if your only goal is to finish, then never. Not just until late game.
Uhh I definitely sped through tier 2 to get to 4. Honestly, up until MK4 belts I think you just build single/double units for assemblers/constructors. After Mk4 belts start scaling

Depends how the mod works but I wouldn't be shocked if turning it off caused issues
that's the problem with a lot of those mods that add stuff unless you never want to stop using them for a save
Tbh I ain't bothered about fps as long as I can play
