seems like not automating space elevator parts is a problem that just stacks on itself cause you always want more of them for other stuff later

When I'm working on an objective and I see that I need 200 of something, it would be really nice to the name of that thing so I can search components. I know I can make a todo list but this is different. LMK if this should be in questions/help

Milestones are for the HUB.
Project Parts are for the space elevator.

After you beat the game a couple times you will just kind of passively memorize the names for all the parts and their symbols.
My thinking if that if I can see the graphic of what I need to produce, I should also be able to find the name without having to fly back.

Me when i just make a single part building machine of each space elevator requirement on poor and regular quality nodes and just afk for hours for the space elevator to fill up

I force myself to not afk. Keeps the game more engaging to me.
So what I do is I load the containers, and it takes about an hour for the slower parts to actually build even at 250% clock. During that time I do a lap around the map collecting slugs, mercers, somers, and HDDs to research more alts when I get to the next phase.
1.2 is good, but better to discuss in #satisfactory-experimental

It had a purpose once, and if I need more out of it I will take the extra ore from the miner that could once only give 60/min and make a new factory elsewhere.
2.5/min modular frames might not be great now, but it carried me through tier 3
Personally? I always use highest available for inputs and lowest needed for final outputs.
Or, if going for looks, anything that is less than 270 gets a mk3 no matter what and anything above that gets a mk6.

Mk4 is probably my most-used until I get the mk6, but I don't like the chonk factor when I like to do things like running belts very close over the top of buildings.

I like using belt type to organize outputs from miners. mk1 is 60/m, mk2 is 120, mk3 is 240, etc. (I don't have mk3 miners yet), but I think I'm definitely going to use mk5 for the whole aluminum factory

With somers I believe there is like 3.2k power shards just from slugs before you ever need to manufacture synthetic ones.

Smart and programmable splitters exist for a reason
why not if the belt can handle it? I only really use them to send extra shit to a line of storage containers that sinks the overflow though but I'm not very creative
I have poggers bound directly to my bar. Regular splitters are a rare sight in my worlds 😄
Smarts are good, but can get things stuck in their internal storage (has no effect on the line, it's just an OCD nitpick).
Poggers let you put "overflow" PLUS "any undef" on the output, which stops anything from being trapped.
its fine for sinking overflow but as a supply chain all it does is complicate your logistics because you have to work around when 1 item is saturated in a production chain, it stops the entire belt, so before you go to feed you have to use programmable splitters and whatnot to re-separate the belt at point of service it's just unnecessary when you can just drag an auto connecting belt highway, and if your belts can support multiple items then you're not producing enough of either to warrant the transportation in the first place

i used drones for nitrogen thats about it

The one thing the game won't tell you up front is each generator needs 15/min coal and 45/min water.

I found a massive lake, that's probably the best place to start. It probably has a coal ore next to it

I believe this is fixed in 1.2, but on 1.1 and previous:
When you get to the end of scanning drives, you will inevitably get to where you have a single alt recipe left. The game will not let you scan it because it wants to you give you 2 options.
For some reason, when you are at this point, completing a milestone fixes this bug and allows you to scan one drive for the final recipe.
So I save Jump Pads as a simple, fast, "throwaway" milestone for this exact purpose at that stage of the game.

Guaranteed on your second run, when you hit Phase One you won't do things in order anymore.
First milestone is Obstacle purely for the fuel upgrade.
Second milestone is MAM for all of those upgrades.
Then you go back and get stuff like splitters and foundations.
It makes me so sad to do it but they get stuck on my stuff

After you use biomass burners to jumpstart the system, yes.

Use bio to power it for a couple minutes to get the system running. Once it is fully online it will be self-sufficient provided you did the math correctly.

I have like a 7k-ish coal plant I built way back when which, if absolute worst case somehow happens despite my priority power switches, despite my power storage banks, the coal plant has enough power storages worth of juice in an isolated bank in its basement to run for 2 hours without producing power
So even if the most catastrophic were to somehow happen, I should be able to reboot everything from there

The 15ish goes to 5.2ish and 1.89 is, but making it 16 I get 6 and 2 flat.
All the way down the line that could feed 12.89BLAH Manufacturers, but I trim that to 12 exactly and just sink the extra to keep it all flowing.

is turbo fuel more efficient than diluted fuel?
I usually try to at least make the last machines in a production line have a nice even number and just send the extra to storage
I tend to do the opposite, where most machines have a "nice" number and the last/first in line is the odd one out (so to check things I look at the odd one out and just glance at the rest of the line)
What should I focus on first the dimensional depot upload speed or the capacity.

I go back and forth with the upgrades because they go up in price so fast but yeah probably capacity first
Priority is Somer duplication tbh.
But for depot specifically it is Personal Upload > Capacity > Speed.
turbofuel requires fuel, satisfactory tools says make rubber, use the HOR byproduct to make 800 fuel with diluted fuel, then mix with compacted coal for 666.67 turbo fuel / minute

If aiming and enemies were recognizable parameters, they could be added to the logic, but they aren't (ie: the "logic" goes through logistics or production buildings; fauna, terrain or items placed on the ground have no way to interact with them and the other way around; if there was a way, the logic could be expanded to operate on them)

Hi All. I've used the satisfactory tools website for the first time today. On the calculator section I selected reinforced steel plate production and it visualised what I need. My confusion is that it says I need 2 x smelter, one for iron plate the other for iron rod production. How do I connect 2 x smelters to the miner mk 1 as it doesn't tell me?

One kinda way around it is to use the storage tanks to buy yourself time to keep the machines running, then just flush whenever you can get back to do so
I usually recycle byprods but wet concrete may be easy way to make it sinkable

My favorite part about working with fluids was placing a ton of pipes, realizing half of them weren't working, then dismantling and replacing them the same exact way for them to magically work

So I built some Coal Power, it's still currently being powered by biomass.. when does it become self-powered? It's receiving water and coal but taking away the connector to biomass takes it offline

ie the power connection on the coal gen needs to connect to a power point that [connects to a power point that...] connects to the miners, water extractors, pumps
I just had to remove one of the connectors to the miner and it seems to be all green
Biomass generators will run to meet any power needs until coal can provide
Also makes biomass generators fine for backup power, as it will only run if other power sources cant provide

You can connect powerlines any way you want. Basically the only thing that matters is you have enough. And its connected to whatever needs to be powered

its kind of nice how everythings kind of simplistic, no real complexity or confusing and challenging processing chains, so if you wanted to just do a complete world node domination run it would be reasonable with some preplanning

This game is like factorio meets building game meets OpenTTD. But there's more OpenTTD than I expected. So many trucks and trains to route. So many. Once I set down a coal supply and the supply depot for it in this run I went "where's my engineer cap I wear for OpenTTD" (not a joke sorry)

My copper is so satisfying in this run, because it fills up a truck station but it has a node next to it as well, so it trickles down slowly and then gets a dump. So weirdly satisfying to watch.

More like 10x more power lines, I imagine a coal power source hit the max transfer rate for 1 pole, meaning you'd need to replicate your power lines from your coal plants to your base for the amount of the coal plants you have

Unlocking the blade runners for the first time felt like such a power-up, I'd spend hours just slide jumping around the the desert with it
If you need the power, you can always just build x hours of waste storage
Though having a single power line able to carry hundreds of gigawatts of power is questionable
