the game does not need an update for an update like this lol
I dont see any patch update on steam, that is why I am suprised
you get tickets from sinking items in the awesome sink.
grab one ticket and sink it
yeah the game gets the date and updates according to that date
its a hard coded event liike the ficmas event
if i have a ton of conveyor belts and theyre level 1 and i want to upgrade to level 2, do i need to fully rebuild?
are all jetpack fuels equal?
you can just set the conveyor to the tier you want it to be and then hover over a lower tier conveyor then click
not at all
no, they all have different feels and properites.
i like rocket fuel
would this work then? ( #screenshots ) the assembler is for motors, the storage container in the middle is for half of the rotors
sure.
what?
When you unlock the MaM, dont sleep on it
what should I use during phase 3?
I was asnwering you question
seems reasonable. I highly recommend setting up a proper storage area but it's a huge pain in the ass π
whatever you can get.
Liquid biofuel has the greatest height but regular fuel is faster
if you're overproducing motors, use a smart splitter, the straight to any, and right to overflow
liquid biofuel is probably the easiest to us
For the Satisfactory-Calculator, is there a better tool or a way to control like what recipes are used where etc?
Like that calculator just generates it for you, and you cant change anything.
There is https://satisfactoryplanner.net/ but that in contrast you have to do EVERYTHING from scratch, which is a bit much
satisfactory-calculator would be perfect if i could make edits after its generated
can i make proper edits?
define edits? can you change recipes, yes
they said they havent touched powergrid and im schitzoing out on them lol
im actually going crazy XD
lol i kind of hope your mates are pranking you
ok so lets say, just making something up now.
If i have 200 copper coming in, 180 is used for copper powder.
And i have 200 catherium coming in, and i want to use 20 of the excess copper to make wires, and cover the rest of the wires with catherium wires.
it will weighs things in its onwn way. most the time it tries to give you the most output for the least input. Its better when you tell it I want this part at X quantity.
pretty sure you either use a recipe or you don't, but you can limit the inputs and select maximize on one output and set a # per minute on another output and that might accomplish a similar thing?
I mean you either give the calculator the option to use a recipe or you don't. if you limit the incoming caterium and copper and it has access to both recipes it might split it up nicely for you?
what is the best and easiest to obtain fuel for jetpack?
depends on what fuel you need, each fuel is different. Liquid biofuel is very easy to get, requires no setup. It gives very bad lift, but you can use pulse nobs to get in the air.
Fuel and Turbo fuel are your alternatives, each with their own benefit, and each requiring setting up oil. Roughly equal difficulty to set up
likely fuel as you need to make packages for the fuel
liquid biofuel is probably best for where you are, if you start packaging fuel, use that instead
okay thanks guys
Yea, I use packaged fuel sent into a depot, grab a 100 stack whenever I'm low.
what do people think about Mk.0 belts? That has a speed of 0-60 depending on demand. So if you put 1 item per minute onto the belt, it moves at a speed of 1 item per minute. SUPER slow
i think it would be cool for super super lategame items, like where you're working with single digit thoughputs. And having saturated belts with super high end items sounds epic
is platic ai limiter a good alt
all alts are good alts, depending on yoru situation
what is your situation?
i dont have any reason to automate them rn so im just curious
fairly easy to compare from the base recipe https://satisfactory.wiki.gg/wiki/AI_Limiter
you trade 3.5 plastic for 5 copper sheets per limiter
hmm, put a * on all
and you save some caterium wire
nope, all.
they all have their own specialties, even the really niche ones
ok, make an argument for Compact Steel Coal
you have some waste compacted coal you don't want to use for fuel
you have coal and sulfur next to each other and steel is convenient there and you have no use for the sulfur
basically converts the Sulfur to Coal without a converter
also probably useful in a bomb/ammo factory where you need both coal and sulfur
plus steel for pipe bombs
Bio coal?
fantastic.
only way you can turn pigs into uranium rods
Get imaginative π
You need 3 base resources instead of 2
you get less output per iron (with pure iron)
you barely use less coal, if we imagine "sulfur is coal". But in turn you need to bring in sulfur which at least on vanilla, you wont ever find close to coal
its just bad
Like I said - you have coal and sulfur in a spot wehere you want ot make steel - it becomes convenient due to location
iron is... everywhere and in such quantities that it really doesn't matter , you'll never use it all
if your iron supply is fine for your location? make it work
you can also barely use sulfur if you want
diluted fuel can easily let you do big set upts
you dont have iron + sulfur + coal close to eachother anywhere
and full nuclear barely uses 1/4 of the sulfur on the map
SE grassy fields
north grassy fields is fairly close
NW RD
NW dune deser
Southeast corner.
Moulded Steel Pipe. You get 1:1 steel to pipe compared to 3:2, so barely any benefit. But it requires using a foundry instead of a simple constructor, and it requires concrete.
Literally on top of each other.
SW wst blue crater.
just looking at scim
I'm using that area
lime stone is everywhere and it helps extend your steel.
You're giving me really easy examples my good dude
also 2/3 vs 5/5 output , 66% pipe output vs 100% output with a bit of concrete
steel ingot per pipe
which is quite a big boost honestly
thats +50% output
similar to Solid Steel
and solid steel is VERY useful
4.6/5 vs 5/5 is not a big enough gain to warrent having to add limestone and increase power consumption
its just bad
you're bad at math
base is 1.5 ingots per pipe
modled is 1 per pipe
that's a HUGE decrease
power is negligible
look, Tempered Copper Ingot. 5:12 by adding Coke, when you could get 6:15 by adding water. Tempered Copper Ingot is also just bad
power is the easiest thing in the game
you get to murder all the infinite refineries. I'll take that trade any day
very few refineries, tons of output
look, maybe you don't like the trade offs, but that don't mean they are bad
it's fine if you don't like recipes, but they definitely are very useful
also improve your maths, cause that was just wrong on the pipes
and pure vs tempered is
2.5 vs 2.4 ingot output for ore
I 10000000% would do that trade any day to avoid all those refineries
Honestly though, Copper alloy all the way
zero refineries and super compact foundry set up
how you getting that coke then
Copper Alloy - zero refineries
i never mentioned copper alloy
though Tempered copper is also solid for removing refineries, so many less than pure
i said tempered copper ingot
well idc about copper alloy, i can respect copper alloy. Even tho i'd pick pure copper ingot 100% of the time
but tempered copper ingot vs pure copper ingot
tempered copper ingot is just bad
Yes, I made a point about Tempered copper, saying it outputed 2.4 instead of 2.5 and didn't need nearly as many refineries
then I made a personal observation that you can cut out refineries entirely with alloy
why do you hate on refineries?
obnoxious af.
And removing or reducing refinery count is a perfectly valid value on a recipe
i almost always build near water, so i have the refineries in the "basement" above the water
doesn't matter. Huge and annoying and you need a million of them
I don't wan tto play Rerfinery Simulator 2025
and, it's a good example of benefits of a recipe that you may not like, but benefits other people in other ways because they like doing thigns differently
So, in conclusion, all alt recipes have their benefits, even though you may not enjoy them
At what point should i roughly be at with 30 hours of playtime?
wherever you want really , the milestones are basically there to just learn π
I have 3500hrs and never launched hte final phase π
So instead of just having 5 refineries
you would rather have 1 refinery for the heavy oil, 1 refinery for the coke, and 3 foundries. And having to bring in crude oil along with the copper, on top of using more overall copper
I'm at like 110 hours and just finished phase 3 but I afk a lot and I'm slow and always screwing around on the calculator
yall still going about alt recipes XD
I'll almost always be needing plastics for something else in the facility, I build tall, so yes π
I only know about the OP alts I'm lost with most of them
solid steel ingots, heavy oil residue, diluted (packaged) fuel, the recycling ones for plubber, heavy encased frame
althought honestly I'd just do copper alloy.
Tempered is fine.
easier to make compact little production lines w/o much piping with tempered vs pure
tempered is horrible. You have more complexity than pure, you have more base resources coming in, and you get less resources out of it in the end.
I get you're trying to play devils advocate here, but you are on the border of trolling.
Only real argument for Tempered that holds up, is "uses less refineries". Which i guess they're big yea, but hey. The world is big. You have space. Alot of it.
anyone play astroneer? game is cheap af on steam rn π€
you go from 5 to 2 refineries, which i mean you still need 2 refineries.. so its not even cutting out refineries, you're just using less
Glad to hear that lol, I thought I was really slow (got phase 2 fully automated and currently 1/3rd of fully automating Phase 3)
I have it on ps
fun or what?
UI is extremely tilting.. I hate it
10/10 though i do recommend.
I play on controller anyway so console opinion is extra helpful
again, in almost any facility where I'm doing Tempered I'm already bringing in oil for other things
you can make VERY tidy units of production that has 1 refinery feeding into 1 other refinery then directly feeding 3 foundries
as for 'trollling' you're the one who is deciding your own personal subjective views are objective, which is false
honestly you're just reminding me of the worse than Big Bang Theory nerds at university
Iβd say itβs pretty fun I havenβt played it to much tho
tf did I type healthy for... my edible haven't even kicked in
cutting out 66% on refinery count is pretty valuable to me, and I'm sure to others.
your views are subjective and not objective truth.
most alts are subjective, some are just plain bad
i dont believe you've ever used tempered
i'd call you a liar if you claim you've done it
I mean they have a point if you just look at numbers but I can see lots of value in leaning towards your playstyle
"alts are subjective except where my objective views make them bad"
have a good life
this is probably up there in S tier of ways to leave a losing fight
are they not kinda bad if you just look at the objective metrics though? assuming people don't care a ton about which combo of buildings they use?
big bang theory nerds are the worst
the metrics you set are themselves subjetive
like uhhh the opposite of heavy encased frames which is kind of objectively better than the base recipe
you decide what is valuable and that is not objective
there's some examples where alts vs BASE recipes are a thing, but they are few
I mean you can limit metrics to the objective ones if you want? seems like a common thing to do when trying for meta shit
which metrics are objective?
what makes them objective?
they are well designed, they have benefits and drawbacks, and you have to choose which is most important depending on what you're building, where you're building and what resources you have around you.
like doesn't heavy encased frames use less power, less resources, output more, etc?
again you're comparing an alt vs base recipe, and I did mention there's a few examples like that
I'd say something like solid steel ingots is objectively an efficiency increase isn't it?
that's valid, it's different with alts vs alts maybe
again alt vs base π
you know I'm new so I don't have a real strong position here lol, just curious what you think
lets use Tempered Copper vs Pure Copper
oh yeah sure
so temp vs pure
per ore
2.4 vs 2.5 ingots
tempered is more complex, you get less resources per copper, and you need coke.
VS just using more space for more refineries
your choice will be based on what you value the most
which is subjective
if your position is absolute max output of ingots?
sure pure is the 'better' for you
you're valuing SPACE over complexity, thoughput, and input
who in their right mind puts SPACE as TOP priority
but what if your value on total output isn't that valuable to you? that's not objective right ?
i had an old save and completely forgot how to do everything... should i try to replay or make a new save
probalby jsut a new save imo π
i always make a new one personally
okay i will
I can't even imagine jumping in where I'm at after some time away lmao
you can choose to start at tier 3 though. First 2 tiers are just a grind.
I'm already confused enough and I took no breaks
im not very far
tier 4
but does that make sense?
That I'm willing to go from 2.5 to 2.4 output and not have to build nearly as many refineries?
Is there any content for april fools?
and having to add coke
usually if people are asking what's better, they are looking for something like total output from X input?
im not very good at factory games i was thinking about trying hydroneer and getting really good at that so im better at automating and stuff
yeah it's not a huge decrease
what about recipes that swap resources or items
dont forget the coke
that's above my pay grade lol
see? lots of subjective thigns about them π
for example, with the right alts you can make super computers from only caterium and oil.
have never even used it before I don't really understand, I'm just bein curious about the objective vs subjective
which ... isn't a huge deal since it normally only uses 3 resources, but you can also get some nice resource savings on it.
and dropping from 3 to 2 makes placement often easier
hmm yeah stuff like iron pipe is probably objectively worse if you are just looking at math
but having an iron only motor factory or some shit sounds great even if it's less efficient
Iron pipe, imo, is very situational
but if you're looking for simplicity and you are swimming in iron? no real reason not to
For every copper used, you have to add almost 1 crude oil.
Its almost twice as expensive to use tempered
personally, I would jsut find a spot with iron and coal, because it's very common.
but again , subjective.
it's worth it to me to find a better spot π
also I'm just kinda against Iron Pipe. They simplified too many things in 1.0
as a game mechanic though, not recipe
I gotta look at the recipes lol I'm not really following when comparing the two alts you guys are talking about just trying to chime in on the objective vs subjective
so lets see
instead of 5 refineries, which only take up space
you want to use more copper
add almost as much crude as you have copper
add 3 foundries
Just to save on 2/5 refineries
adding that much crude sounds rough, but in my position, I legit do not care about crude I can't possibly use it all right now
deadass how do i disable the experimental label in satisfactory 1.2?
is this about tempered?
eh there's lots of oil on the map and it doesn't actually take much to process it using the more oil efficient alts
the pipelines are
Copper > Refineries > Ingot
vs
Crude > Heavy (Refinery) > Coke (Refinery) + Copper > Ingot
plus oil/plastic/rubber is a very common resource used to pad out resources
so many alts throw in an oil product to pad out other resources
yea but in this case you dont pad. You actually make it worse
Honestly wish you could do the game solely off oil
i get adding an additional resource to get more output per resource used. Thats trading complexity for thoughput
but you dont trade complexity for thoughput
you trade resources + complexity for space
hey so i have a bunch of polymer resin from my turbofuel plant that i don't plan on using at all, i'm planning on sinking it but what would be the best item to turn it into to maximise point gain?
check the wiki if fabric or containers will get you more
its so little i'd just sink it
be sure to do the conversion ratio though, like figure out how much of each youll make pm
Yea not worth the power you are going to use to make it into something
Make filters or whatever if you need em, sink the rest
is there a way to turn the experimental build label on the experimental branch?
its fabric btw, by a longshot. Checked
You can change its size with UI changes, otherwise no
thanks guys!
thats so dumb π
Experimental isnt supposed to be a build you play just to play, its for feedback and to help the devs
fair ig
Can always go back to official until the release
Just learned about manifolds... whole new world unlocked
anything you build that isn't a load balancer is automatically a manifold π people tend to build them w/o realising it
I'm partial to symmetry and evenness so I was just load balancing by default I suppose. Manifolding seems cool though
works for everything, and load balancing can get very complex adding extra processing steps in
Imagine my joy when I learned that straight conveyers existed and I didn't need to do that 2-unit corner shuffle for every right turn
can always end the belt right before the turn and just build it from there without the shuffle xD
nah load balancing is real simple π
I swear it's not hard to learn at all
it's more that the bigger the factory and the more steps you do the more specific planning to break them up into chunks you don't go mad trying to LB it
the biggest lesson I got about load balancing is that I want to minimize it lmao
I settled on a factory that only needed 480 iron lol
About the only time I do load balancing is very low throughput steps - like pressure conversion cubes to nuclear pasta. I plan on load balancing my nuclear reactors when I build them as well
Just wanted to give a shoutout to April Foolβs Day making doggos lorge again, weβd been missing one and found her stuck in a foundation! #bestprank #thanks!!!
i find balancing also good to use with stuff like aluminum ingots or stitched plate. because the ingredient is a 500 stack item, the manifolds take ungodly lengths of time to fill
Shut down machines from the first on the manifold back and let the last fill then work your way forward⦠it doesnt take long
making 500 x machine count of anything takes time. even with mk6 belts, you're still looking at ~30 seconds per machine
I just build one stage and turn it on while I build the next
Usually it's full by then
yeah, especially with aluminum though, having a fast ramp-up is beneficial. often aluminum lines get a little fussy and you have to bring them up and down a number of times to fix it all. imho, some basic balancing saves a lot of time
Recent one that I had to go do something else while it filled up though was 48 manufacturers of radio control units....60 crystal oscillators and 120 computers per minute, but since oscillators stack to 200 it took like 10x longer to fill than the computers did
I just have aluminum ingots going into sinks out of a smart splitter so I can just hook a belt into that when I want to use it and never have to worry about stopping the refineries
over a long duration playthrough, expect to have some problems with fluids pop up.
Im about to unlock aluminum I'm probably gonna screw something up there heh
process each belt of bauxite in it's individual section
don't mix the fresh and waste water
those 2 tips will see you through most issues
awesome thanks
you can usually also just clock things so the Solution refinery feeds directly to the Scrap refinery, which is often convenient and less piping
are four cars supposed to have a second engine
trains^
and if you have 2 engines, do you need to set anything in it, or will the second engine just assist the first one
in general, 1 engine to 4 cars can move up 2m ramp rail. But if they are full they can be pretty slow
unfortuantely i think the ramp is slightly over 2m
and you can just add a loco to the front w/o issues
you really really want to build ramps on 2m ramps otherwise it gets real messy
?
rails opn 2m ramps
i get that, what is real messy mean
How many cars can you have on one rail?
other than needing a second engine
tough to determine how much, if you don't build them on ramps you can easily get rails too close to each other and clipping
having tidy rails makes life much easier
i have a bp
i just accidently made the slope slightly over 2m because i mis measured when i made the bp
doesn't matter, if you don't place the bps on foundations to keep them organised you can easily have too tight a turn, or like now, too steep
i mean thats a good point, ill remember it next time. But the bps work fine except for turns, i have to do those by hand
and ramps
ramps are..fine, i just have to do the connections to flats by hand.
I mean yeah too steep, but thats not that bad to fix
you dont' get real control over the steepness like that
zoop foundations the whole way and print your bps on them, makes turns and ramps very easy and keeps all your rail tidy and basically never clipping https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/1448157102966182049/1448167940225499156/image.png?ex=69ce97be&is=69cd463e&hm=dcff33102632a9d8f802a0f0bbf42c6ea0ab4c5c4d48d94b4335cc27f067452e&=&format=webp&quality=lossless&width=311&height=300
please no big spoilers but where can I get a better weapon than the starting zapper
Theres a larger version
Complete milestones
Also... other weapons
tier 3
also the MAM, research the MAM stuff asap
If I set my time to april 1st can I redo the april fools? I'm having issues with proton rn and its late.
should be able to
I dropped everything alien or dead into the MAM but no weapons yet. I'd be more confident to go farm enemies for their parts if I had a better weapon..
I really wish we could just have a "active event" dropdown in AGS
There is a place you can find one if you REALLY want it before you unlock it, but spoilers
Also its not in the mam, other weapons later game are
Also, is that rover thing from the Base that I send off into the sky NOT the Space Elevator?
Nope. Just a delivery system for milestones, space elevator is big boi and used for tier upgrades
Because my only goal seems to be to build the elevator but I don't know whether to keep hitting the goals from the base hub thing or just build the elevator
Is it normal to want to destroy absolutely everything you've built and start again but without starting a new file? LOL
Milestones first, if you can do the tier upgrade, do it, but those as you get further and further start to require milestone completion for certain parts
the weapon in the MAM is in the bottom line, 2nd over
Generally if you are an experienced player you can speedrun through the first.. 3 tiers without too much trouble. Things get longer and more automation demanding the further you get
bottom line of alien technology I assume?
megafauna
Ok cool. I feel like I should explore more I just like watching the spaghetti work from the comfort of my base
Its a beautiful game for sure
exploring is fun in the game π
it was until I ran into a giant hog beast that killed me
I found a lizard dog thing though, can I keep it?
sure, but you'll want to look up on the wiki how to stop if from disapearing
you can also build quick little forts to fight from. foundation and a few walls
I'm trying not to use a wiki at all, so I guess no lizard for me
I mean it would tell you teh same thing I would tell you xD
so .. I could tell you but I'd basically be reading the wiki at you
being basically teh same thing
OOHH. Excited. Final touches and checkups on my new turbo fuel power station. NGL kinda nervous but should be good. Got em all off so I can start up in order and fill up pipes etc. Stoked. 42?? gens I think. And fabric as a byproduct. maybe swap to something else later like rubber or plastic and sink it.
Aye, go on then. I'm on the grassy map if that matters
its normal to be messy at start and use messy base to build a proper base.
normally sence you cant really make the base you want with t2 belts.
although you may want to be semi organized sence your first buildbles area may be in place a long time.
I can't get the dang Block signals to work.... π
show some overhead images of yoru rail , holding a signal, in #1038092680493801533
The problem is my rail system is kind of long and doesn't seem to recognize a full loop of rail with stations and a block before each station. π€
I still need to build a train
It's that there's always one Block Signal that's "this signal loops on itself!"
over head shot of it and the blocks π in a #1038092680493801533
How? I don't exactly have a plane--
photo mode then decouple the camera
I ain't gonna fit in one picture. π€ I think I need one of those signal diagrams.
photo mode takes it from fairly high up
and signal diagrams are less useful since it'll leave out details
do you guys get massive fps dips when searching buildables in the construction menu
Is coal generators randomly no longer receiving fluid from a full pipe a known bug? I even have a pump there
no, you might have flooded an unstable system
O boy... Blew a fuse starting my turbo fuel power plant. And somehow I lost 11000 MW and can't start my main. It also saws 550MW only. Ucky.

rip, hope you fix it easily
I haven't had a fuse blow since I got coal gens, that sound is gonna jump scare me when I hear it again
lol i figured if you press e , backspace , e backspace repeatedly, you can freeze the frame in place its that slow
Is it possible to make computer using only iron, copper, and quartz using crystal computer alt recipe
π I isolated the plant from my main. Thank gosh it made a few M3 of turbo juice and I just started over again one machine and gen at a time. Got it half up. But that don't explain the main. But when I join em Should fire up then.
Replacing the floor holes and all the connecting pipes seems to have fixed it
1/4 of my 16.38 GW compacted coal power plant is done and it only took... 7.5 hours π
I don't know how people have the patience for big builds when even something (relatively) small in the grand scheme of things takes this long
coal power is particularly annoying, and doing that large scale is certainly .. a choice π
one of my doggos poopsalot escaped :/
at their size yesterday, they can just walk over any walls π
its three high three wide with a roof
#screenshots message they didnβt care yesterday lol
that seems excessive, were you making it fancy?
hello again, how u been?
is there a specific way you have to set up conveyors leading out of your BP's for the auto connect build mode to connect them properly
not tooooo shabby yourself? π
there needs to be distance between the BPs built for it to generate a connection
Its all the same map, just different starting areas. Only one map
Otherwise, one can be found here
||Obtaining
Environment
A single Xeno-Basher can be found within a cave in Jungle Spires, dubbed the "Doggo Cave", at any stage in the game. That allows it to be obtained before it can be normally researched and crafted||
not really, but yeah, having a belt helps. so like a small belt going in/out of the machine helpe. While building the BP, press R(iirc) button to like change build mode to Auto Connect, and it will show the belts being connected before u confirm build.
oh okay so i should leave like 1 foundation of empty space between 2 dead end belts and itll connect them?
not exactly, when in build mode and holding the BP, move it around nearby the existing BP that is already built and with Auto Connect ON, and it will show the belts being connected. If too close or too far, the belts being connected disappears.
or just don't stretch belts to the end of hte bps
oh okay, if i leave space inside the BP then i can still snap em together
Is there an easy way to make sure lifts a few foundations away from each other align properly?
I feel like I'm often eyeballing whether they're at the same height
if they start from the same height i just count the vertical clicks
if they dont start from the same height then i go fuck myself
I'm alright. Had a fever yesterday. I am looking to join a game with someone for a bit, to uhh just check if my internet connection is good enough to handle it.
I had to move my router and extenders and unsure if they are good enough right now where I've placed them. π
Sometimes I see a green line extending from it and sometimes I don't, even when I hold CTRL. Do you know what enables it?
i believe after a certain distance you dont get a line even if it lines up
I think hold ctrl while building. If they are at same height, there will be a dotted line between the two to show it. May work without holding ctrl. I just haven't played this game in a few months.
damn!
one thing you could do is use a foundation or half foundation snapped to the world grid to measure height and see how far up or down the lift is
Thanks. Where is the cave though? My map has no markings. If I find the cave will it be labelled on the map?
Can I join one of you for a while? Willing to help a little if you'd like.
!wikisearch doggo+cave
sigh, the internet dropped for a minute, like 7 minutes ago.
lol u wanna improve your weapon that badly? the default weapon you get is kinda good enough. what do u even need it for?
i mean.. xenobasher is early ish enough that youre fine with zapper... all you need is to kill some basic hogs? plus you can get rebar gun early
let me join you for a bit, I'll help ya out a little.
sigh
Is the April Fool's event only live for one day?
I couldn't kill the giant sandshrew so I figured that was the game telling me I was underpowered
I assume you mean an elite/alpha/big boi hog? You can kill one of those with a zapper, but it does take some dodging and weaving
If you stand in one spot too long it will wombo-combo you
or if you have more than 1 player in the game, one of them can take it's aggro while the other kills it. or uhh, both take it's aggro while the one it is not charging at attacks it.
it's not that simple, you can find sandshrews on route 1 and maybe even a sandslash on route 2. You don't always need to be able to beat it right away. You can ignore it and deal with it later on. Or if you need to build something there, know that you can build from a distance. Be at a distance where the sandshrew can't attack you, preferably at a height difference, and then just build.
you are not underpowered, you are the noob trainer spamming ember and don't know how to buff self or debuff or use hazards, or use water type pokes against the ground poke.
what event? I didn't check... π’
hmm, nuclear power a bit more stable at 240% oc vs 250%
still flctuating at 1.08TW-1.1TW but I think the difference is merely academic at this point
Bean-sized doggos and doggo-sized beans
And the hogs looking like the croissant fuckers from Sanctum
oooooooh...meh
just a little graphic change?
It's nothing crazy, it's baked into the game already and just looks at your system time if I'm not mistaken
Yeah it's not a full event like Ficsmas, you didn't miss tons
didn't miss anything if I can just rewaind my clock by a day to be disappointed.
xD
It's just a bit of fun tbh lmao
may i make an opinion?
No
damn bruh π
Absolutely not
i was just thinking tho
napalm nobelisk
using blender to combine
defualt orange fule
nobelisk
and steel pipe
fire damage to all enemys in sourrounding area
I like how you think
Carpet bomb nobelisks, drop em from drones
might as well add a mode with apocalytic beasts that want to destroy your factory
thats called cluster nobelisk with a refinement
that is StarRupture
or just make curent mobs attack in waves and you get notified which base is being attacked
but are you even playing satisfactory at that point?
or some shooter game
(ngl tho satisfactory shooter game mode would be sick as hell)
again, that is StarRupture
If I had a penny for every time I heard someone suggest this here I'd be able to buy Factorio
oke
the game or the company?
but why would you when ya have satisfactory?
From what I know it's a hard no on base defence in Satisfactory
XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
That's not the game they're making
Yes
exactly the answer I was hoping for.
looks fun but would needs looks better with friends which idont have that would like this game
words are hard
If you want base-defence-factory-builder I suggest Factorio
I can't deal with that game it's so damn stressful
That said it's a great game, just not for me
aka satisfactory with the shooter game thing ya wanted
but in 2d
what i want is satisfactory
welcome to my boat
Satisfactory is bydesign a sandbox with no pressure (except in pipes) and no fail condition, adding those wouldn't go hard on the playerbase
and a brain that wouldnt get short circuits or overload...
starrupture has that too...
Yeah, pretty much. It's antithetical to the existing game
can I join anyone for a bit?
anyway i gtg
bye bye
o/
o.o
o.O
someone deleted
Just like my factories
Yes I did
oh hey it was mikael
well his emoji looked like that, plus I didn't finish the sentence
oh look its a wild squirtle! gotta throw my pokeball at it
Doesn't matter, use common sense
you mean your pokaball
Quite clearly a wave you absolute curtainpole
Use common sense and make sure to graduate that art school
Silly billy
depends on how you look at it xD
I'm not gonna randomly pull an Elon in the Satisfactory channel, worry not
@void gorge make a LFG text channel alongside the exiting forum channel... for people who are like active that minute.
Finally finished the 40 fmf/min (mostly) still waiting on mk6 belts so everything can run at 100% but golly that was ... arduous
Congrats! What you need 40 per min for, though?
What's pcc?
I personally don't go for full efficiency. They build up while you doing other things π
Nuke plants?
To be clear. 2 TW WITHOUT augmenter
1.5Tw from nuke, rest from rf
I am doing clean full chain nuke
I only did 133GW with rf
Can't waste time/node for another sulfur
Sulfur and coal
Just sulfur, but yeah
Using nitro rf alt, I need 200 sulfur per 100 coal to make 16GW
Did you build it vertical?
Which part?
The rf factory
The generators? There is 2 rows stacked
The big rf factory will be a giant W for watts
Haven't decided if itll be a vertical W or a W when you look down from the sky
Rf is a gas and can be built vertical.
Ik
Mikael perusing general factory chat?
-# we love you mikael
Thanks Jace, helps a lot.
Coffee stain trying not to pump out world class community managers like
hi gamers
i heard world class community manager and figured i should hand in my resignation
I love when problems solve themselves
is there a way to play the old versions
New video was fire!
(I just saw it now xD)
I'm just PRAYING for a better autosave
is there a way to see all unlocked alt recipes without scraping the index?
new player here, is there a reason i shouldnt make egregiously long conveyors? right now im trying to manufacture turbofuel in the crater near grass fields and the distance between the 2 nearest oil nodes and the sulfur nodes is like 700m
Aesthetics
Scalability
Organization
Otherwise no do whatever you want
Performance ig as well when it comes to large amounts of them
I think the only reason is your own preference ^^
If you hate the look or building process of long belts, avoid long belts~
alr then, time to get building xd
Vehicles have a hard time beating belts' performance
... Iirc, it's often the opposite (vehicles taxing the hardware more than belts)
Therell be a certain point when you are planning a build around moving 4-5 digit amounts of resources where belts will be a real daunting idea.
Then consider trains and nothing else
[Trucks and drones are nice too, but train superiority]
i havent unlocked trains yet, they seem very scary to manage
trains are easy if you just pay attention when building
A single train can move vastly more resources more efficiently than the similar amount of belts
We are talking on the scale of 1000s across 1000+ meters, thats where they would save performance
Having a copy of the game in that one version...
Dunno if Steam offers some options in this regard...
Trains look scary at first, but once you figure out how they work, are very easy to use for very basic large moves
You can always start simple, 2 stations, get a train to move automatically between them, and experiment from there
I'm familiar with trains and know that they are the best performance-wise; having that in mind, and accounting for the fact that they are not the only vehicle in the game, I stand by my prior comment ^^
will the map ever be expanded again?
because there are to voids and I was wondering if thats like where the map will be expanded
That's unlikely, outside of far off DLCs or even Satisfsctory 2.0 or something...
Highly unlikely
how come?
Well, this map we have now has been being built for almost a decade, by hand, and with careful considerations of node and resource placements over time
Plus the map is more than big enough, if you ask me or most other long-time players of Satisfactory
I agree, but the void areas made me wonder
For sure yeah the voids are a little weird
But there's been zero word on any map changes any time soon
Its always possible, but of course probably not something they will say anything about until its nearly done
Not to say it'll never happen, but I wouldn't hold my breath
I also have explored barely any of the map after 19 hours of gameplay
got the Rebar gun and killed some giant spiders. cheers
They are pretty consistently talking about wanting to do some sort of dlc/additional content for the game so π€·ββοΈ
Yeah your computer will crash long, long, long before space starts to become an issue
paid?
I should be allowed to throw heavy oil residue into the ocean
ocean is RIGHT THERE and i don't want the heavy oil residue
No clue
Sounds like they dont like the idea of paid unless it would really contribute something though, and would also have to not be like.. part of the story.
so i am experiencing something that i like to call SchrΓΆdinger's pipes only when they are not observed are they miss behaving
I went into the purple cave and I feel like I'm playing Borderlands
they never really gave me the feeling of something like paradox so I feel like dlcs would be free optional content
It looks like they're gonna be doing free content updates for the foreseeable, but I wouldn't mind one or two paid DLCs. The game is already well worth the money
true
I have like 2,000 hours in the game for like 20 or 30 euros. Please make a DLC lol I would throw money at this company easily
I dont want to misquote, but iirc one of the cms said sometjing like this in a livestream
I got the game in Early Access for like 17 quid, and I feel like I robbed them
Yeah lol same, player since Update 4 here
Think I got the game late Update 6
that they want to do free optional content?
30 april 2021, best 30 euros ever spent?
I think the main problem is that the community wants to support them more, but they dont just want to pump out useless dlc that wouldnt contribute anything while also wanting to make something worth buying. So its a balance, and from what it sounds like is still in the planning/debate stage
This is one of the very very few games I would consider worth any more than 30 quid and would pay full price for
same, got it on epic i think when it first released
At least, of the games I've played
I started update 6 as well. Any bugs or suggestions you have are still welcome on the feedback page even after full release btw.
is update 1.2 small or big in satisfactory terms or will it be the new norm?
1.2 is a pretty big update in comparison to 1.1 in my opinion
Well we've really only had 1 update so...
But pretty much about normal it seems
I do expect the size of these updates to taper off at some point because there's only so much you can stuff in a game like this, but who knows
1.2 sounds fairly small in terms of helpful stuff
satisfactory has one of the most intune involvement with what the community wants in their game. i feel like if they did ever release a dlc it would be quality and not slop like some other games
They can stuff in a lot more to be honest
i think 1.2 is larger behind the scenes, not so much in what we as a player see. the truck system change probably was a lot of effort
Probably, yeah
1.1 added mostly new buildings and such, 1.2 is more actual gameplay and technical stuff
path system and chaining buildings are the 2 biggest things i think
i'm hyped for the vehicle path update
definitely the pathing stuff is very hard to code and probably took many many hours to perfect and scale
Yea rest assured whatever they decide will take care of us for sure
With how they've talked about not implementing full crossplay though, it sounds like they have a somewhat plan out for a few years at least, 2028/9 or so
I honestly think the weather system would have taken quite a bit longer
All while they have yet to add half-ramps, mind you!
3m ramps you mean ?
Half ramp dlc?
Half-foundation versions of ramps
ah ye
I do hope they change their minds about the crossplay thing at some point. It makes sense for performance reasons but it's a bummer nonetheless
Most of my circle plays on console
or quarter foundations
i mean yeah thats a good point since they already had a base for the pathing system
3.9m ramps, just under 4m to make people mad.
Though, ofc, I wouldn't be against more ramps in general, obviously ^^
not so much performance, just technically difficult with their current infrastructure
That too, I just vaguely remember it being said that performance would suck with PC factories on consoles
Specifically really fuckin mental ones
Isn't it more of a "really hard to do" thing rather than a "we don't want it" kind of thing?
I think so, yeah
I hope they find a way around that but it's understandable if not
It's just a minor bummer
After all, they have to work with the consolle people, which can be quite a pain...
i cant believe the game runs as well as it does with the amount of entities and props you can build in it
Honestly the performance of this game is incredible, hats off to them
i mean to think 1000+ entities can render all at 1 time with no real hiccups on a modern machine is crazy most modern games cannot render 20 π
https://youtu.be/CsIxsQtfktI?si=GwnzLNMzNstX2xpI GUYS PLS WE NEED THIS
Sanitise your URLs pretty please
BTW, anytime you place something like a foundation along a line of foundations, the game immediately tries to optimize by seeing wether it can treat the new thing you created as one big "chunk" of foundations (ie: one object)
Optimization is everywhere, all the time
I play Satisfactory then load up Borderlands 4 and it's a wooooorld of difference
It's wild to me how Borderlands 4 is more CPU-intensive than Satisfactory
It just doesn't compute (ha) in my mind
ada wouldnt approve if it wasnt
yeah literally its crazy
Links in the server are generally quite safe as we have a whitelist system running
thats what happens when you have an early access game for years though when you release it fully its almost perfect
I have a Ryzen 7 7700X, admittedly not top-of-the-line but certainly not weak, and BL4 runs like ass
what gpu do you have?
YouTube links are safe, but everything after ?si= is essentially a tracker
coolios, TIL about fluid buffers
That escapes my expertise ^^
Basically tells YouTube that the person who sent the link and the person who clicked it have a connection in some way
Just another way they have eyes up your ass
Sanitising is just removing that ?si element so it's just the video link
Honestly if anything it's my monitor lmao
It's bottlenecking basically everything. I'm looking to upgrade to a GPU that can handle it very soon though
Point is I get like double the frame rate in Satisfactory than what I do in BL4
It's horrendously optimised
there's no salvation to my satisfactory framerate hah
there's just too many things in this save
That's some strong words for what seems like a way to track sharing data (ie: how many people click on this link)...
I mean... it's Google
Can never be too careful lmao
By that logic, one would be better off just not using it π€·ββοΈ
why is my lizard doggo spontaneously fabricating endgame items
There is no real lore-answer about that...
Which is actually a tad surprising, at this point
... I guess I'll have to teach my cat to retrieve complex technological devices for me
Apparently my sister's cat rolled up at the house with a whole sandwich wrapped in foil one time
Well, food do be appealing ^^
'what do you mean your dog came home with a v12 engine in its mouth'
what are yalls ways of lighting up a small room
No one answered my question... βΉοΈ
my fuses are in an l shaped 2x2 thats 6m high and the big light seems overkill
Ngl I hate when getting new miners which messes up ur setup cause u suddenly get more resources tk play eith to upgrade ur setup π
easily solved/ignored
either
- don't mess with the setup, the usual "leave working factories alone"
- miner upgrades are doublings, so just slap a splitter on, send half the old way, do what you want with the other half
True but if it was like just copper or iron its okay but stuff like steel and aluminium it gets annoying π
It depends on your pc date
there are enough resources on the map that you probably don't need to worry about running out
Nothing says you need to upgrade existing miners
so, do you need the resources here? if so, do the split. if not, leave it be
If I'm not wrong the event goes on as long as your system time is set to the 1st of April
so 1 day
So, it is for one day only
1 day, but you can fudge it to go on longer if you were so inclined
Similar thing for Ficsmas if I'm not mistaken
fluid mechanics are going to drive me clinically insane
For the dimensional depot which path do you guys focused on first? Tue stack or upload rate
stack
more quantity in depot, even if slower is better than faster upload.
still, if u have excess mercers, you can get 1 or maybe 2 upload speed upgrades.
early on you dont need a lot of rate
and for the components that you want more rate of, just add another depot
Also how does the depo work? This is my first time using it
sigh, LFG is dead... I wanna join someone.
you put items in it
cloud storage for your materials. Use mats directly from cloud for building things.
and you can access them from wherever you are
Ohh i assume u need to have multiple of these things per item u wanna cloud use?
try to get inventory upload though, so you can dump excess mats from inventory into depot for on the go inventory clearing without losing anything + 5 free bonus inventory slots.
no
it is better to have 1 depot storage for each item. since it can only upload 1 item at a time.
1 per item is pretty much standard
multiple per item only if its a commonly used item
like iron plate or concrete
You can have multiple stoages for a single item only to boost uopload rate, but since they have a stack limit, it is not always useful
again, for early in a game
can I join someone for a while?
I meant like if I wanna run both iron plates and concrete do I need to have a depo for each one?
yes
let me join you
Lol been there, done that. It's mostly dead right now.
it'll be deader anywhere else, in terms of people actually looking for a group
since if people were looking, they'd be using that channel
Atleast the people talking on here are active. The ones in that channel are active while looking and then not.
yup, but the people in here generally aren't looking for a group
Is steel useful?
Gas. If the fluid has 2 colors and swirls around, its a vas
You won't be able to progress without it
So I should research it
That's good to know
Or stop playing the game entirely π
Progress or Perish
I choose automation
the milestones are all guideposts on how to progress through the tutorial
Telling me or the other guy?
In general. Saving The Day (finishing tier 9) is actually finishing the tutorial.
Not really a matter of changing minds unfortunately
Like its basically... does the game not get content for the next cycle [which at this point is a year to year and a half] or actually add tangible things during that period
I don't know tons about why they didn't opt for that tbh
Not saying they should have if they didn't think it was possible, ofc
But I suppose I more meant that I hope they take another look at it and try to figure it out at some point
ah other guy
They started development with the EG backend, to add full crossplay now would mean an entire rework of the backend. Would be the equivelant workload of a patch or two. Would just take so many personalle to undertake that it would set real updates back if they tried now.
Nothing to figure out sadly
That's fair. In that case it's understandable
I'm no game developer so I don't know how much of an undertaking that sort of thing would be
Not to mention the amount of work they put into making the current experience... less buggy. It would probably really impact multiplayer/server development
Crossplay is a nice-to-have but if it's infeasible then it's fair enough
I shall have to convince my circle to get Steam Machines or some shit
Yea, fortunately not a game that could MASSIVELY benefit from it so much as more multiplayer games so the impact isnt as bad. We still have same platform crossplay at least π
What happens with devs that care β€οΈ
shouldn't be difficult cause they are just BETTER than consoles
Oh most of them already want to jump over to PC, consoles are generally just cheaper and more convenient
Aside from how complex the specific feature is, anything touching on consoles takes a lot more time AND hoops to go through to get things going as it not just CSS, but CSS + Microsoft/Sony; the latter can makes things MUCH more complex, especially as those companies aren't known to be very easy to work with...
Eg: fixing a bug with vehicles? CSS-only; getting crossplay to function or mods on console would need CSS+ console companies
basically just a small form-factor pc
PCs were already far more expensive than consoles. This whole RAM and storage situation isn't making it any easier
RAM prices are going down for a bit since Google improved Gemini's efficiency and Sora shut down
how much is the newest PS
$650 for base, $900 for pro
Not sure but last I heard they bumped the prices up by $100 or so
Yea I had a couple of people that were looking at building this last winter, that whole thing happened and maan. Idm what to advise people now. Sell a kidney? Lmao
I mean we're still not back to pre-AI prices, but it's still a decrease
Itll shoot right back soon as they make use of the efficiency boost
My RAM cost me more than my CPU
ram been dropping kinda fast since openai pulled out of their commitment to buy it
Do remember you have to factor in all the peripherals too
you dont really
Depends
do you buy a new TV when you get a new console
i can't let go of this game
Went down ~25% in the past few months on average
No, but if you don't already have a monitor then you'll have to buy one
You're more likely to have a TV to hand than a monitor
past few weeks actually
From the 200% it went up in the first place lol
you know...
most TVs work as monitors
as I said, it's still not back to it's original price, but it's an improvement
I mean sure but it's not super practical
Unless you go for a Steam Machine style PC and set it up like a console with a controller
Kind of depends what direction you go with your PC, what you're building it to be capable of doing etc etc
You only realize how much modern tvs suuuuck when you buy a real monitor to game with
Would rather use a monitor as a tv than tv as monitor
nah room is just tiny, so im never that far away from TV
modern tvs usually have options like "game mode" which disables all the post processing bs they do, and they just become a display
It's usually the size though, TVs tend to be wayyy too big for the distance you'd have it from you in place of a monitor
snrk
But crank your fov up and look right at it and it's basically VR
just went from 34" uw to a 52" uw and the immersion of it completly filling my field of view is just amazing. love it
yeah quality looks worse due to lower pixel density + lower refresh rate
You'd be hard pressed to find a reasonably-priced TV with a refresh rate of any more than 60Hz I would think
I'm no televisionologist but
tbf my monitor only has 30Hz...
BTW, we do have a VR mod...
Just saying, in case anyone may be missing out~
im a televisionologist and u dont need more than 60hz
i think we have multiple monitors from like 20-25 years ago
they probably also have 30
why does my TV have a blue hue

idk bro my tv had a red hue but then it just came back to normal after a few days
maybe tvs get sick π€
possessed by the blue ghost
im guessing its just a cheap TV so it probably has issues
having been on 100+ hz for years now, going back to 60 feels awful and stuttery
it was a present, so i dont get to complain
30 actually makes me nauseous
if u never moved from 60 we wouldnt be complaining fr
moving to 100+ was such a leap tho
I'm happy with 120Hz tbh
I have a 180Hz monitor and I really don't notice much difference after 120
I'm happy with 30 tbh. 60 is nice, but I rarely appreciate that in a game like SF
Like yeah it's slightly smoother but probably not worth the premium you pay for a 180Hz over a 120Hz monitor
Hey Iβm not at phase 4 yet only at 3 should I go ahead with making a 118,000MW fuel power plant
If you need or can see yourself needing that much power then yeah
If thats what you want to do. Do it. You dont need our input to have fun
I mean I just want to get power generation done with Iβm always right up to my capacity on my power grid and I keep making these small powerplants which are js boring
In that case fuck it, go for it I say
I was just wondering if I should wait till nuclear to do something like that
Alr now I just need to build around 200 turbo fuel refineries
Iβm already making the fuel from a previous build i abandoned
There is always going to be other options.
I focus on less of what is must efficient and more on what is fun.
I made a 20gw power barg in phase 3 because I wanted to.
Helllo
Iβm already at 35gw total production and Iβm still right up to my max capacity
time to go grind oil production
My power grid usually sits around 34gw consumption I could shut down factories but then that makes my work feel useless
then build a giant battery
Never thought abt that
I wish I could rename trains like openttd ;-;
I just need to do something with my 8,600/min fuel
Is there a mod for renaming vehicles? I'm on experimental so I'll have to wait but like. That'd be nice.
NOOOOO THE APRIL FOOLS THEME IN TOOLS IS GONE
you can
Oh you can
just jump into train press Q to open the timetable and just change the name
Thank God Jesus lol
I didn't see that earlier. I gotta go on a renaming spree
Good thing I realized this while I only have 6 trucks and 2 trains (got to elevator phase 3 and started making a huge complicated computer factory after what I thought was a complex heavy modular frame factory lol)
I have the next phase unlocked but haven't touched it because I wanna get my temporary oil platform a bit better, prep the next oil platform and get ready to dismantle the first and pump the nodes from it into the permanent fixture, and also finish my computer/chip/SAM factory and heavy modular factory (done, but I'm going to rework it to only do heavy modular frames and move engines elsewhere).
I need an infinite delete, a better nudge mod and I need back cartograph and infinite zoop. But I'd rather have the experimental features so I wait lol
I've got a long to-do list before I move on lol but I like that. It's like I've got 3 puzzles to solve
*power storage
<@&370483737957236737> hope u have a good easter weekend
@bitter kestrel it a long standing landscape issue. I somehow played 800 hours before seeing them but they are everywhere
everywhere is a bit strong :p theres like 5 of them around the entire map
once i saw the first one i feel like i see them all the time. But it could be just a mental thing
if you're actively playing in an area where they are you see it a lot, but its same one. you can play in another biome and never see it
will i be using trains allot in phase 3?
logistics is entirely up to the player
Youll use them when you realize its easier to train in material then run 100 belts from far away. When that point comes is up to you and where your factory/s are
i like using trains. some use long belts. some use tons of trucks.
For me trains were needed when i couldnt get sulphur in quick enough. I use a train to supplement it. Now i use them a lot
previously it was also very common to have a central storage depot, for which trains were useful, but with Dimensional Depots, many just skip that, and just have an uploader everywhere something is produced
personally, i like my mall, and will keep building one, having trains bringing stuff to it just feels good
.... and yesterday my can full of concrete ran dry while building more trains. Had to expand concrete production so this doesnt happen so quickly again π
same, im up to 1000/min
7 dimensional Depots
does anyone want to play CZ/SK
i dont even know waht those are
speak czechia or slovakia
you too leo i hope you find some eggs
Love tyhe short yesterday btw, I shared it wide my non cultured(they dont play this game) friends loved it too
my eggs are working on my factory π and nice april fools video
Guys what to pick? Encased industrial pipes or steel rotors
both, but many love pipes
I can pick one only :(
wich one is more usefull?
and you out of the basement @void gorge says your hiding there etc etc
they both are, im sorry but i have no answer for you.
picked rotors, since motors have more uses
i just saw with hard drives u will get them again no worries
and also for factorys make them by the nodes
its advised to ler them sit there and only pick one if you find a use for one
hmm finally power output is stable
might fix up ficsonium pipes tomorrow
had to use pipe tuner though
because I think my game lags too much for pipe flow to be stable haha
why do i unlock scannable crude oil at tier 8 if i already unlocked it at tier 5
cause it now detects the fracking nodes as well
whichever you like more
same as I've told you before applies - things are subjective and you'd do best to make your own decisions rather than asking us what to do on your save π
you can get all recipes anyway, so it's not like you lose the other one
what if i dropped all of the hard drives in a random place in the ocean and i forgot where they are now
how is that on me
Well it wasn't the bogeyman who dumped your hard drives in the ocean was it
then you would buy new ones
sink ran away
steel rotor is part of the iron-only motors chain, if thats worth anything to you
hello chat
o/
\o/
Motors are already almost only iron? The steel rotor just doesnt need scres
screws*
(o)
o=
/o\

they mean using iron pipe.
it's a very iron wasteful recipe
sure are, but you can make them entirely from iron
iron is cheap as chips
huh
bros acting like ik what a ymca is fr
Luckily iron is extremely plentiful!
ok nvm ik what a ymca is i just didnt know its called ymca
pure ingots too
ridiculous amount of iron
iron pipe is fine as long as you are not doing giga scale production of motors
Do you not know the song???
Christ in a can
Then it is still fine
what song
YMCA
hii hi hi
never heard of it
i just told u ik it but i didnt know it was called ymca
No fucking way
well, to each their own, I wouldn't want to tap 4 iron nodes just to save a bit of coal lol
no u have heard of it u just dont know its called ymca
at 375 motors/min I might reconsider using iron pipe
but most people don't do that scale really
YMCA is quite literally the only lyric I know of that song lmao
literally never heard of it
young man!
no i just know π YOUNG MAN
whos the young man
no clue
the subject of the song, In this case a Gay american youth
almost 11.4k iron ore/min for 75/min modular engine using iron wire/stitched plate/iron pipe hah
just dont use iron pipe π€·ββοΈ
hey, thats only like 1/8th of whats on the map, whats the big deal :p
no pures
Misread that as modular frame and was incredibly confused for a second there
well at that scale I expect builders would have pure iron handy
Yeah this is what I make too in my factory. 75/min modular engine with just iron and rubber, perfect
Obviously Pure Iron Ingot, Recycled Rubber etc
I recently reworked that factory to save on coal. Managed to save on 7500 coal but added like 10k iron ore. Would have been nearly 20k iron ore if I didn't switch to Pure Iron Ingot.
Insert, wait, it's all refinery spam.... Always has been meme
you basically save 3000 iron/min by using 1800 coal/min
Yeah probably. My save has 42,300 coal/min exclusively tied to Turbo Diamonds :D
speaking of which.... I need to do turbo diamonds
So that's why I had to re-factor that old build. Get rid of the coal, implement iron everywhere where possible
pure iron is kinda for vanity builders
What's a vanity builder
post end-game builds basically
Ah yeah
you will probably need it if you do 10x-100x (is it even possible) parts in 1.2 lol
100x is possible. Just takes longer.
2x recpie costs is also possible. Just takes even longer.
Even 2x recipe/100x parts/5x power is possible. Just takes even longer and you get punished for using vehicles
belts everywhere at that point lol
Yeah. Even All Impure is possible I'm sure. But you will probably need to turn parts of your factories off when you are at tier 8 and getting 100,000 nuclear pasta will probably take some time :D
well there's no time limit (other than mortality of you or the pc/console) so theoretically anything can be done
It's what I call The Full Masochist Run. 2x recipe. 100x space parts. 5x power. Random All Impure
just more micromanagement
valheim with 0,25x resource modifier except 1000x worse
Yeah it sounds dreadful. It basically forces you to underclock all your machines. Belts only. Luckily you don't need so many with only impure nodes.
gonna do leached caterium runs next save
At what point should i build a megafactory? Is it worth to produce like 6 items and tons of power?
you probably want more than 6 items
Is it possible to build working trains without signs?
and you never have to build a megafactory
hi
and you dont need signals for trains to automate them
alr
you can, but the second you have 2 trains sharing track, you'll run into issue
theoreticlaly, it is possible to create a train network where all trains routes avoid one another based on exact timings. creating such a network is pretty untractable of a problem, however
Still waiting for the speedruns on that
i'm doing 100x elevator/5x power/1x recipe/all pure and I'll say that ~90 hrs in i'm about halfway on the second elevator delivery
the nasty issue i've been having is that water extractor power really decreases coal power's yield quite significantly
Nitro Fuel OP
yeah, that isn't available until phase 3
actually i think phase 4... requires blender
5x power is a lot more than just factory power is 5x, it also means that power plant yield is significantly lower which makes for difficulty. when a mk1 pump is 20mw, you need to think twice about building coal vertically
Yeah, go for Fuel then
fuel is phase 3. i'm slumming in phase 2
5x power is just kinda silly tbh...It's just forcing you to build in a very tedious way. Yeah, don't build pumps. Don't build trains or trucks or any vehicle. Just all belts. Underclock machines. As few water extractors as possible, yeah, so you need way more coal plants
well, APA's exist which make it tennable
i find honestly that with it all you're having to focus a lot more on exploration, and that is a pretty nice change
gotta go for now, laterz
You donβt need signals if you have a single line, otherwise if there is 2 trains or junctions yes
The alternative is constantly up righting them
oh rerailing
Quantum trains got taken from us
never saw them
Previously they could just pass through each other
Quantum tunnelling
never tbh
(assuming you mean "megafactory" as "produce all items in a single place")
if you mean just big factory, you can build it at any point
noob quetion. i usually use smart splitters to do 1 priority way and another with overdraw. but does the normal splitted do the same? like if the first line is full, all items goes to the second?
yeah
oh kk so i was wasting a ton of materials lol
is it worth it to create a 10,000MW fuel power plant for phase 3 of space elevator?
"worth" is subjective
do you want/need that power? will you have fun making that power?
i want that power but most likely i will need it
then go for it π you don't need to validate your game choices with us π
okay ill do it
People like to get validated before they commit 10s of hours on something
true
Iβd rather reduce power requirements because i feel like spending a lot of time building power plants.
That sounds self-contradicting to me
ugh its so annoying when your 2000+ meters away from your main factory and you run out of materials
Once you unlock the ||dimensional depot|| in the MaM this is not a issue
that's what depots are for
USBullalo
700 hours and 1. still havent beat the game, 2. still bad at the game π
Ive beat the game. But im bad at it lol
i have that but i run out of lots of different materials allot and i dont know which ones to upload to depot
how many hours u got?
but that did remind me that depots existed so thank you
all of them
1000+
π
anyone have a chart which shows which components are used to make other components in an order?
given there are alt recipes that change that, that chart would be basically a web
True
also, please do not ask in multiple channels π
but still would be very useful to me atleast
open wiki or codex ingame then
i meant the web thing
i do look at the codex alot
nah, like what i meant it would be cool to see like every recipe and its requirements in one image thing
https://www.satisfactorytools.com/1.0/production
click recipes
but im all good lol i know that the satisfactory modeler
oh shi, this is very usefull actually
