i want to have all the oil from the map transported in cannisters to my main oil factory. I think recycling the cannisters is the way to go. do you have any good hints on how to setup a recycling loop? As I need as much Cannisters as I ship oil (rates are the same of course then), how many train cars would you recommend for a train line which goes around the whole map to every oil-ressource node and delivers cannisters with at least the rate of oil it is pushign out? it is between 1500 m³ / min and around 3000 m³ / min I guess. Someone here who has actually done something like that?
The bottom right is blue crater.
It has everything you need in the crater. If you havent used those reSources yet you can build there and have both your setups

There’s a free thing on Steam called Satisfactory Modeler that I like to use
And lets you actually do things like different combinations of alternate recipes

Its perfect. Just split it into chunks.
Say you want 5 u rods a minute.
Pick out the three items you need.
25 electromagnetic control rods
15 encased beams
And 250 encased uranium cells.
And make a new tab for each.
Treat each tab as its own thing thus breaking it down into smaller chunks

I personally like making facilities.
A car plant isn't a single building. Its many interconnected buildings. By breaking it down into smaller segments it allows you to spread out production and simplify so you don't go crazy.
When building one is done simply place a sink then work on the next section. Come back after a bit to trouble shoot any issues that may have come up.

Are you sure you have the correct recipes selected? If you want to make plastic and rubber from the resin you have to select the "residual" recipes and unselect the default ones

For a setup like this you have to figure out on your own how much plastic/rubber you can make from the resin and plug in that number to the planner, it's not gonna figure it out automatically for you
You have options to change the weather or something but still doesnt change anything
I just want it to be random and working😰
you have to restart for settings to take effect
The planner doesn't presume to know that you want to process all of the resin
Ik and thats what i did but it would have been nicer for the tool to calculate the by product and tell me what i need and the output

uhhh im on experimental on multiplayer, i think theres a memory leak or something because my gpu was running at 100% usage just for the game
It can work backwards from end products just fine, not sure I understand what you're having an issue with exactly
memory leak got nothing to do with gpu usage...
Its okay its not a big deal
3:1 ratio for resin:plastic and 2:1 for resin:rubber
Adjust amounts until you get desired result
kinda struggling to understand why 100% gpu use is bad. typically if the gpu isnt being used at 100% you have a bottleneck
If you are making a "megafacotry" it maybe best (if you dont have final numbers) to just choose a area lets say west coast which has 1800 oil.
Go to tools and change the oil amount to 1800 (turn off sam) select your recipes I like heavy oil residue, recycled plastic and recycled rubber. Then tell it you want plastic and rubber and select maximize. It will tell you how to make all the possible plubber (plastic rudder) from 1800 oil.

because i was at 100 FPS (my VSYNC limit) with only 60%, and then it spiked to 100% and i got only 10 fps

no, but you can do the toggle glitch so you dont have to keep pressing it

Okay so i tested this
I play both. I switch between them depending on mood
Most of the time when i play modded, i just use refined power.
It seems as though vehicles ignore most objects when pathing, like trains and just phase through them, but there is a couple odd cases liike you can place a small amount of beams in the way of the path before it breaks and it will register and drive over the beams
anything that deliberately causes an issue for truck pathing like walls and stuff most likely breaks the path its placed on
Aah, interesting, but I mean more like collisions with regards to vehicles colliding with other vehicles, in like intersections and stuff
it seems most objects that would collisions are just ignored and they just phase through stuff like signs
they have automatic signalling in intersections
so they dont cross over each other
the pathing turns a different colour to indicate an intersection and its where other trucks are stopped if one is in that area
Cool, I have no intention of highways or anything, just possibly some support structures where needed, like small bridges or ramps, when I do finally put trucks to use, but not until it's in the main branch

however, it does have softlock protection it seems
I tested it yesterday and it seems if you die in a SPWN, it puts you to the next available SPWN or even the hub
so if you get stuck in like a radioactive area it seems your death crate obstructs the spawn location and forces you else where

Why is auto-connect so finicky... It will connect two of the four blueprint belts I need it to, but the others won't.

hi im pretty new to the game and recently unlocked trains and just got done making fluid freight platform (it has power and the fluid buffers in the platform are full and they're also set to load) and its not loading the fluid onto the freight carts, any idea why?

you may need a combination of pumps and such. go to #1038092680493801533 and make a post with details and several pictures
if they arent loading, its usually one or more of: 1: not auto driving, and you didnt place train correctly. 2: station facing wrong way so the terminals arent connected. 3: terminal set to unload not load. 4: you havnt connected the terminals to the stations and spaced em apart with rails.

if default i believe it maintains the amount of impure/normal/pure but type can change if thats random. tho i've not super tested that. mostly pure/impure just shifts the node up/down a type

They need to go from you main grid to priority switch to factory.
The factory cannot have any other connections to your main grid.
Then in the switch you can name the switch (I use the factory name or purpose) then slot it in a tier. Tier 1 is most important tier 8 is least. I always put my power in t1 as I never want it to turn off.
When you go over you power generation it will automatically turn off switches in the poorest tier. For example if smart plates are 5
T8 and concrete is t7.

you talking about like a fuel-powered gen? if so, yes, they only accept 1 connection
actually, all power generator buildings only allow 1 connection now that i think of it
you must connect the power generator to a pole, then the poles to where you need to go - and you can daisy chain the poles

but that's a total of 360 water per minute, so youll need to have the extractors connect on two ends of the setup or else you wont be able to supply them all with mk1 pipes

My own main reason for it is that it's a lot of work just to get yourself back to the same level of production you had before. I prefer to just leave the factories as-is and make all new factories

I feel that, I actually took a four month hiatus before my current construction due to rebuilding, though what I am building is the final construct.
Why not just iteratively optimize your new factories as you go? Best of both worlds -- you're getting better at building, and you're continually progressing in the game. :)
it's far better to move to a new area. i have the northwest desert just quietly running and supplying my DD's as i build anew in the northeast desert
But anyway, as always: so long as you're having fun, you're doing it right. :)
I find rebuilding factories proves an engineering problem, there's always consequences you gotta consider, "if I take X out what else is effected" and whatnot
If rebuilding a factory sparks joy, so to speak, go for it. 🥳

Albeit there are certain designs that are MUCH more difficult to rebuild than others, which is the fun of it for me
Just keep an eye on your mood while playing the game, and remember that if rebuilding a factory starts feeling like a chore rather than a joy, you can simply opt Not To. :)

Rebuilding is the reason I'm 600 nearly 700 hours deep, and I'm showing no sign of stopping
It's easy to get stuck in your own patterns, etc. :)

One other "don't rebuild" justification, fwiw: Not Rebuilding also strongly encourages expansion, so you get to go out and build factories in new and exciting locales! (And make more new and exciting friends in those locales!) If you're leaving your existing factories as they are, you're likely to need to go find some new nodes, and have some more fun adventures on the way. (And more opportunities to use interesting alt recipes you hadn't considered yet, due to local node availability!)
That got built there due to how I imported all the rubber & plastic from the spire, it came up at one spot and I couldn't think of how best to put a factory there so the floor below it became a distribution hub for those materials instead.

I’m having an issue with my game and I’d like to know if I’m the only one…
I’ve launched the game several times, and even after multiple reinstalls, the problem is still the same: I have no sound at all.
It’s as if everything is muted or like I’m not on the correct audio channel. I even reset all settings to default, but nothing changed…
Could someone let me know if others are experiencing the same issue, or how to fix it, please?

honestly there are a ton of variables, look at every possible setting, in game, steam, windows, etc. and try to ask ai or reddit
Of course, I tested with other games and videos, and everything works normally. So the issue is coming from the game.

create train towers that holds rail up - make them as fancy as you like
I never dedicate the time to building full bridges, and I just use concrete beams, so they always look really bumpy
zoop line of foundations the whole path first - build the towers on top. You can remove the zooped foundations after if you want

with blueprints and autoconnect it essentially doesn't take any more time
even without autoconnect you can quickly just link up the towers in a moment
and if you have all the parts automated, everythign is free. Make sure to keep several containers of each part

because if you ever have more than 1 train on a one rail line you murder your throughput and it becomes obnoxious to signal

If you hold down either ctrl or shift while dragging, it'll trash all stacks of that resource (I forget which; been too long and I don't have my muscle memory)

really depends on the recipes and items you want to make
there's so many alt recipes that you can dramatically change your needs
I haven’t found many hard drives so don’t have many alternate recipes. Main thing I want to make right now is either more steel or space elevator parts for stage 3

I tend to recommend having a separate factory for each item, near the nodes that are convenient. Expand, expand! :D

Should I be concerned? My power graph keeps dipping between prod being 1575MW and 1800MW and my consumption is pretty much around 1675-1700MW at all times, max is 2630. Power grid can go to 2000MW at times, capacity at that. It does say my batteries are charging most of the time.

bio burners do burn fuel faster if you nee dmore power.
so if you are only using 15mw out of 30mw from a bioburner, it'll burn at half speed

What kind of generators do you have?
If coal, you’re most likely not producing enough water to fill your generators (like if you have one water extractor at default speed trying to fuel three default speed coal generators, it’s just about 12% slower than it needs to be, meaning your coal generators will frequently shut off for a couple of seconds at a time. Similarly, if your pipes aren’t 100% full, you can have issues even if you are matching production with consumption. Also, if you’re trying to force more than 300m^2/m of water through one T1 pipe, it will bottleneck there.
If fuel generators, basically the same issues except it’s more likely to be a fluid physics/bottlenecking issue than an underproduction issue.
If geothermal or nuclear, this is perfectly normal and good 👍

You’ve misinterpreted it due to them not specifying the issue very clearly. They made a new world, then went back to their old world, and all the blueprints on their old world are now gone while they are playing on their old world.

funny, I dumped mine there without really caring if they lived or died and came back three years later on a new pc and was still able to access them fine.
But whenever I save something to OneDrive, there’s about a 50/50 chance every day that it gets deleted, or weirder, entirely replaced by a previously randomly deleted file from four years ago. Guh. Cloud storage is weird man.
the blueprints are in app data, what may have happened is you got a new user id, so the blueprints might be in old one still
if it's a 'migration' service I'd be surprised if it leaves the old files
(since i use cloud save to move between PC and laptop, i back everything up to google drive every night)

I can't believe this game has gone through like 1,000 patches and updates, but they still let giant tick-monsters spawn right in the middle of your factories and block all your building. They get stuck on everything and never leave, I have to tear apart half my damn build before they leave, and then as soon as I load up a fresh save they're back.
Farmers have had similar problems for few hundred years, they have found improvised ways to get rid of wild life..

i always see people complaining about this but ive never personally seen it other than early game when you have everything built on the dirt and have like 10 machines
It can't be that f%*#ing hard to just make it so they don't spawn within X range of any player structures, how can they let it persist this long?

i know for sure hostile mobs work like that, and im pretty sure beans do too
Well I have one that keeps spawning on the 2nd floor of my factory so that's false
i know they arent supposed to do that

Not really, I've got a bunch of Assemblers running on that floor and a bunch of belts and wires it keeps getting stuck on
The reason I have a 2nd floor was because he kept spawning on my main floor and I hoped putting a roof on would stop it, but now he just spawns there instead.
