I always forget rocket fuel is a gas
actually gasses may still have problems dunno haven't made it that far yet
gravity, the stuff in the pipes would rather stay in the pipes than go into the generators because it's lower
Never have thus far for me personally.
I've had lots of problems with it so I tend to be cautious
This is where headlift, for regular fluids, takes over 😉
Sec, uploading...
headlift doesn't negate gravity necessarily
it allows the fluids to go up but they still like to go dowj
When feeding regular fluids from below the fire, directly to the machine, does cause issues. But not like in that vid.
what am I looking for here?
Mostly the plumbing. The factory is a mess because I have foundations pullled, working on power 😛
Put more in than out and it’ll figure itself out
is ionized fuel only useful for drones and jetpack
I tried that. system too big
that looks like a raised spine to me
My internet is dying aaaaaaaaa
Right, which is what I said earlier that I do for water regular fluids. That line is working with 1050 water.
so how is it relevant to this? I'm a little lost
Ahh, it's just the one I nabbed to reply to since it was the same convo. My bad. Basically was a continuation of this: #satisfactory message
ah, gotcha
yeah my four generators in a mk2 blueprint is definitely not as pretty as whatever you've got going on lol
Shenannigans 🤣
what's the difference between power grid production and capacity?
Production is how much that could potentially be generated. Capacity is how much that's actually being generated. (I think. lol. )
I thought it was the other way
Lol, may be. Was switching saves as I had "no power" on in that other one 😛
for the most part they should be the same thing. production means how much power you're making and capacity means how much power your grid has access to. there's very little reason for those numbers to be different
I guess batteries and biofuels would separate them?
I have batteries and it doesn't seem to matter
Yeah, that's what I was noticing. Went and connected a thermal gen to see if that would've changes it.
Power Storage doesn't affect the graph, btw. (They're not Batteries, even though they look and act like them. Different item. :)
I feel like this is more likely to be a problem of a poorly worded question. what are you actually looking at?
Capacity is the total amount of power-generation capacity you've got on the grid, and will generally only differ from Production when you have Biomass Burners, since those are the one power-generation machine which adjusts its output to suit the load
If you have no Biomass Burners the two lines will basically always be equal
holy crap, is that why the biomass burners on my home thingy just sit at 199 fuel after i over built coal generation?
yes
It was more important to have the distinction back when every power-generation machine scaled with use, though it's arguably still useful since Bio Burners still do that
i was trying to figure out where they were pulling fuel from, but this makes so much more sense.
thank you
TIL lol. I never paid attention 🤣 . Just cared that it was flat 😛
burners are effectively a type of power storage now, they only turn on if they're needed
Biomass* burners
Regular fuel gens consume so long as they get fuel and always output constant power. Whether it's being used of not.
Though, I think re-reading it, I get what you're saying lol.
How do you organize belts pipes under the foundation? It’s hard to see where I’m going
damn. This heavy modular frame factory I'm looking at the plans for is... not trivial
wdym servers restart in 60 minute- oh wait ive been playing for 16 hours...
How many HMFs are you trying to make a minute
Yes.
Well, my computer factory has two manufacturers making the final product, so I punched in the numbers for four per minute into the calculator. Seems ambitious, to put it mildly
I have cast screws. Love them.
Even if casting is too imprecise for screws IRL, but we'll ignore that.
I got them as one of my first few HDDs on my local save
Took like 30 HDDs on friend’s server to get them
don't build the top foundations first
That was painful
Under as in on a floor below or under as in hanging from the ceiling
Press B to toggle the flashlight
How do you know where the place the pipes if the top foundation and buildings aren’t there? Anyone make a nice video?
point is, four HMFs per minute seems ambitious. Even two requires a huge input of resources, but I don't see any other way around it.
Double the time
Buldings come first personally.
But, I also make them as single machines with most things already attached: #screenshots message
Totally right, should probably do 10 to play it safe! 😏
You remind me of a friend of mine - ten per minute is utter insanity
Yeah, that's four to ten mk3 miners, which I don't even have yet
What's your max belt speed currently?
I wish there were smaller and hallway able lights
mk4 - 480 units/min
there are signs
Have you picked up steel screws yet by chance?
I have not, no
Nm, read back, sorry
Planning on any overclocking?
Hello, im new here and its my first time making a large factory, and in on part i make 6 rotors that i have to split off into two lines, one where there are 2 rotors and one where there are 4, does anyone know how to do this? I cant get it to work with splitters unless i have a constant stream of them which i wont...
Or using Wet concrete or Pure/leeched iron ingot?
oh for... I can't get back into the game because steam is down
having that issue with path to exile.
Steam is what
Steam goes down for maintenance every tuesday. It always catches me off guard. Seems to be back now tho
i didnt know that
neither did I
youll need a total of 5390 to compley all phases..... get used to making them lol
Well cuz…
Just manually feed the assemblers and use 3 power shards on each and overclock to max
I HAVE 10 OF THEM
Overclock the 10 and manually feed them ez
Unless u don’t have enough steel?
I have enough steel to feed them 10 times over
Well ye just overclock
And manually feed them
all of them are oced
all of them have 2 somers in
I am spending 20 somersloops and its still slow
how many frameworks do u need
5390 as @ornate saffron said
over the course of the whole game mind you
oh yeah I know that
C̵̛̈́̓͝ő̷͒͒̈́n̴͕̎̽ͅs̵̔͂͛͒ų̷͍̮̒m̸̀͌̽͝e
im just stock piling them for later
Hello. I just downloaded Satisfactory like... 5 days ago? I can't put it down.
ya, i only play wehen i have no resposibilities for that reason
Ah so I forgot to actually connect my steel beam lines to the versatile frameworks machines
400 versatile frameworks per minute here wee go
I just got done building 2 Oil Refinery setups on a couple Pure nodes on the west coast. One the Polymer Resin route for 5k MW Power and one the Heavy Oil Residue route for byproduct supply.
Then I unlocked recipes for Polyester Fabric and Diluted Packaged Fuel, which required me to overhaul both systems.
This took 3 days of my life.
Remember to eat and sleep sometimes
optional activities
Thants for reminding me sleep is a thin- 17 HOURS
TODAY?????
I SPEND 17 HOURS ON A FUCKING VIDEO GAME
Poly resin for power? You can get the most out of oil by using the HOR alt and then diluted (packaged) fuel
Try 2000
Today'
Didn't have alt recipes yet.
btw
I am doing a similar project right there, right now! And I don't have either of those alts so I am sure I will soon be in your shoes lol
Well into oil within the first 5 days of playing is commendable. 5GW btw 😉
I hope you at least used factory carts otherwise you have a problem
I might try to plan ahead.... laughs in Pioneer
I love riding the Explorer around.
what do you mean by factory carts before I go "what?"
its fun
I think it took me 2 days to do all of my necessary oil research while making my first turbofuel plant
Planning ahead is for the 3rd playthrough and beyond
you unlock them at the awesome shop
Ah yes, I am only on my second. So I can continue to spaghetti
I have not unlocked the awsome shop this playthrough
Enjoy the floating platform factories!
I just keep wiping out my entire factories each new stage "oh i need what now, this mess will not work, re work!"
and you're 17hr+ in? 🤯
My spaghetti is more like weaving fabric
So I am very much aware of this method, but for some reason I just cant do it
This is my 7th playthrough of the game
If i go through this game again I'll stick to the ground as much as possible
stop wasting your life binge-playing satisfactory without factory carts when you should be wasting your life playing it WITH factory carts!
As soon as I get to phase 2 my first factory becomes my resource factory and then my 2nd factory becomes the neat and tidy one
make tony hawks factory cart 2
Seeing the flood of factory carts going out carrying nuclear waste
mmmm, fabric spaghetti
sam
SAM Ore or something stupid like rods
Copper sheet is a good one to overflow sink
i just loaded up my bio generators and build a small sam factory under the Grasslands Arch. time to go on a adventure for hardrives. And the blade runners in the dogo cave
What's the current strategy?
Everything is good to overflow sink wym
im trying to get into a cave complex in north west has a mercer sphere inside but despite using 100 Nobelisk only the outer boulders have blown,, is this a bugged cave? or do i need something else? only appears to be one entrance
Smaller satilite factories everywhere. I still use foundations and walls, I just cant do the giant floating island
Yes
Found a use for batteries
A great snack
Ohh you mean power storage
The only problem is waiting for 3x8 minutes per generator
Before hooking it up to something
'Batteries' are a different item
Yeah sounds like power storage
Really cool use of it though
Not my fault they look like a duracell
My server reset itself okay
I don't know that

for fluid stations, is it better for throughput to set as "Stay at station until train is fully loaded/unloaded"? it hit me that having it load/unload "whatever we got" (meaning more load cycles per 400/m, same as putting more trains on the same line) might be why i'm having such inconsistent throughput numbers, and might be why my turbofuel plant keeps breaking...
Its better to not use fluid stations as your only source of fual
Or just ask the fluid to freeze
I just noticed something that might be applicable to Satisfactory while playing an unrelated factory game (Shapez).
If you feed a two ingredient manifold system from opposite ends, the warm-up is faster.
also if you just overload the system its even faster
if your waiting around in early stages of the game I dont think your playing it right
at all
shapez does say "THIS IS NOT AN IDLE GAME", the same logic kinda applies to SF too
im only waiting around cause I just want phase 2 done so I can sleep
Ive done 2 phases in one day
help
my alarms in 5 and a half hours plase let me just finish
The only thing I wait on is Hard drives if I have no idea what to start
you can alays mes around with blueprints etc...
Im going to ask yall somthing pls answer
I need to lol, probably set up my storage node as just a node for building and a lil museum for blueprints.
I have my versatile frames done bc I had a fact for them, but I need to set up the rest soon.
Also, Have not touched a sigle node in the dune desert yet
What is your favorite cave entrance type :3 and why
A. Normal
B. Hole in the ceiling so you Parachute
C. Behind rocks
D. Behind some vines
E. Behind a waterfall
F. Behind flat rocks
G. Under flat rocks aka B but with flat rocks
Im talking about breakable rocks btw
B, but with the Jetpack.
Why b
Behind waterfall
It reminds me of my dream childhood cave
Wherr I wanted a secret room under a waterfall in Minecraft
It has took me a month to realize that all the different “starting points” are starting points within the map, not different maps
I thought the same

H. The one you gotta power slide into.
stage 5 in a hour is it good
Yeah I was exploring the desert area for the first time then when I built a hypertube cannon, I quickly realized that was false. Rip
you mean hub upgrades right?
No
Project Assembly only has four stages.
It has 5 Phases
thats what they want you to think
in terms of "increase complexity before sinking", is there anything i can do to improve fabric or rubber that involves no other ingredients? like i'm turning excess plastic into gas cans, fill them with water, and sink those...
Points list https://satisfactory.wiki.gg/wiki/AWESOME_Sink
should i make a 1.2km conveyor or a train for a single item
Depends on the item and if the track segment is going to be reused
probably wont reuse the track and its for like 100 coper sheet per minute
there's a bit of throughput loss when training things, like maybe 5-10% due to load/unload delay
No
Just accidentally pressed record on my phone and now there is a ten minute voice recording of me talking about heavy frames that was sent to my ex and I only noticed when she texted me back telling me to "never do drugs again"
Im fucked
😭
Atleast it was ur ex
trying to make heavy frames feels like lsd to me when i tried to do it all in my head
Heavy frame light work in the mind yall bugging
the fractions n sheeit be hard
Overclock / underclock
thats more fractions
type throughput numbers directly into the output field
one thing is i dont like to underclock/overclock just one machine
...interesting. freight platform locking is per train car. if a station is set to Wait For Full Unload, and one platform had room but the other doesn't, the train will unload the one car, remain in place, and keep the other platform and car locked until it can unload.
not gonna lie u got me messed up if u think im automating all space elevator parts
I only automated nuclear pasta because i need it for phase 5 i
is handcraft% a speedrun category yet
also hypertube tee junctions are so unintuitive as to which way they're going to default-send you, and by the time you see the highlight of the selected direction you've already passed the thang ding
So huge question will satisfactory ever get cross-play between pc and console?
probably not, console can't keep up
has anyone beaten the game without using any form of automation? Are people insane enough for that?
space elevator parts categorically can't be handcrafted, nor can anything to do with fluids
a "conveyor belt-less" run is theoretically possible. pipeless, absolutely not
i think someone once tried to do the opposite, an "automation ONLY" run where handcrafting is outright disabled. have to skip onboarding and get super lucky with finding debris at crash sites, but if you're able to get enough basic infra built, a no-handcrafting run can be done
What would prevent progression if you don't find early items at crash sites? Last I checked I thought nothing was 'soft-locked' from achieving milestones after the tutorial
it's specifically to do with finding enough materials to build your first machines
Ahhh fair point. Is that really the case?! I have historically always hand crafted for that purpose but that's kind of crazy if you have to hand craft the materials to build the machine the makes said materials
can't remember who did the run (i watch at least a dozen "can you do $weirdchallenge" youtubers), but i know they had to make an exception for miners, as you can't do anything without handcrafting them in the equipment workshop (only the crafting bench was locked out)
Does more load decrease acceleration on trains. I personally want to run at most 12 cars per single line
Truuuue. So no equipables then either?
My first train line is 9 cars
you need one engine per 4 cars, is the general rule of thumb (can get away with more if your line has no steep hills)
Rule of thumb is 4 full cars per loco on a 2m incline
equippables are all equipment workshop, which was fair game
Gotcha, misinterpreted the challenge haha mb
What about 100% flat foundation
but yeah, until you find 2x reinforced plate 8x cable at a crash site, you can't make even your first constructor
I don't know of a limitation on freights for a perfectly level track. People have tried and have done over 100
Actually sounds kind of fun. I'd be curious to see what other machines fall under the same constraint
I never do more than 4 cars, there is no limit as far as I know, just 4 cars per locomotive
I'm planning around no inclines
How many cars do you want?
My first pickup line is 9 sending out
That's fine and still has the same max speed?
ive been unlocking stuff in the mam through satisfactory calculator website and now my game is crashing randomly could it be because im unlocking things without getting the prerequisites
Yes
If i know the max speed I can route how far the train can go, it takes ~10 minutes total to fully load a freight.
I need the round trip to take about 10-12 minutes at most
With my current 480 belts*
Play ze game
its like my 4th time unlocking these things im lazy
im thinking its cause i had 7 inventory slots and im pretty sure the max is 6
hand inventory*
I don't think i wanna do MAM research again if I play the game again
that genuinely sounds like the least fun way to play that's still reasonable
so no blade runners, no zipline, only mk1 power pole?
no explosives
you're gonna need quickwire sooner or later
You can get blade runners without researching it.
i just want to skip everything that cant be automated
Hey mates, do y'all know if Nobelisks are something made up for Satisfactory?
I've never heard the word outside of the game.
||I feel like they're basically just fancy pipe bombs, and I can understand not wanting to use that term.||
i'm not exactly sure how you're supposed to do that
by automating!
for the mam i would just skip satisfactory calculator like im doing now
as in the word nobelisk?
Yeah. I kind of assumed it was a specific type of bomb or something, but I haven't seen it anywhere else.
Sounds derived from a Scandinavian word
play however you want, no-one cares what you do for your own enjoyment in game.
Waiting 10 minutes to roll for 2 hours is fun
Truly tantalizing gameplay
Hard drives are kind of a sour point for me
That and blueprints because of not being able to make a 6×6 perfectly symmetrical rail roundabout or intersection
blueprints are still great
Until much later in the game*
build your roundabout or intersection in 4 pieces
or 1 piece that's placed 4 times, just rotated
Yes, that's correct
I should have straights and turns split up then and piece it together too
Again because I want them to connect perfectly symmetrical
But the game wants me to struggle with that for as long as possible
i do think there should just be one blueprint designer that's the size of the mk3
although i also fdel likebyoure letting one limitation or annoyance with something ruin the entire thing
like without the mam you get no smart splitters or mk2 power poles or overclocking
blueprints are great even if the blueprint is just 2 refineries with pipeline junctions at the inputs and outputs. that cuts the time it takes to build something in half.
Hey I just joined because I'm having issues with a train network setup and I'm wondering if this is the right place and if anyone could help? It's a bidirectional network with one rail, then I have two slip junctions along the way. I could just make it two rails but at this point im really invested and I'd hate to give up. I've gotten it to the point where they smush up against one another etc but for some reason I can't get them to reserve a path around the train occupying the 1 side of it. I've looked at no joke like 15 tutorials and none of them have covered this case and I can't figure it out using the rules/explanations in the videos.
willing to do further explaantion/screenshots if this is the right place/anyone willing to help, ik that wasn't a very good explanation and I apologize
Thats because bidirectional rail is extremely obnoxious and murders train throughput when you have more than one train on the line
Sad. I only have two trains, figure that's all I'll need.
Totally fine if you only ever want 1 train on the line
Yeah but at that point I could just do a push pull without any signalling or anything lol
What’s the highest tier you’ve unlocked?
uhhhh lemme check, I'm at phase 3 rn, just unlocked the last upgrade before I have to progress to the next phase
I think that answers the question actually
Ok so you can , and imo should, treat the milestones like a tutorial
You learn and play with different ideas
fs
pour the information into #1038092680493801533 trains can be both complex or simple
ty
And figure things out more when youver unlocked everything and turn it more into a sand box
Train’s super power is they take a lot of infrastructure to use, but you can them just slap on more lines and run lots of them on the same rail
are there other hidden nodes like the pure limestone in the NW corner?
done
#screenshots message Saw a machine that makes microchips was literally just a box and got inspired to make a box. I hate it lmao
Make it a fancier box I guess
Stuff™️
lol I did, put some windows on it so looks a bit better but will probably be the only box I make
Imma need to make a temporary setup to make these things
Imma get oil based diamonds and turn them into time crystals
Imma go build some ficsite stuff in the desert
I haven't gotten to tier 9 yet. I have no idea what you're talking about.
I'm still on tier 7
I'm not even at nuclear power yet
I need mk6 conveyors for nuclear power
There's Mark 6 conveyor belts? I thought the maximum was Mark 5
Yes
Tier 9
I've never made it past tier 8 on any of my saves so far
This my first ever save
This is my 5th save
I just started a new file yesterday. This time for sure. 🤞
My first save: pig benis, was one I did in 2023 when the game was still in early access
I wanted to atleast finish the game once
I stopped at tier 8 on that save because that was the highest tier on early access
My second save: factorytastic, I got to tier 8 and stopped
My third save: another crap factory, I got to tier 7 then stopped
My fourth save: Too fast Too Factory, I stopped at tier 3
Oh, was it? I didn't really see all of the new stuff at launch or with 1.1; other than, well... you know...
||
&
functionality. ||
And now my fifth save: Beer Towne: I am on tier 7 currently
I'll make a comparison of my early game vs my current knowledge soon
I was pretty dumb
so, too, were we all
I mean I'm still dumb, just less dumb
In my first two saves I was just figuring things out, I was pretty dumb too
We didn't even know about the world grid!
I didn't even use foundations on that save, I just placed everything on the ground
I wasn't even using Choo choos I was still using trucks for transportation
Currently my design changer is under belts but I'm still not sure about under pipes
I just made Modular Engines for the first time ever, on 5th save.
So you've never been past tier 6 before?
Every new build I go "...why wasn't I doing it this way before?"
Early game: the ground is my friend, nothing was modular, and math was terrible
Mid Phase 2: modular!! No wait... mega.... nah, modular! Uhhh
Phase 2: the sky is my friend but I still don't know how to do basic math, my first "mega factory" was a massive mess
Phase 3 part 1: coal gens are easy, and i can decide what to turn on and off or overflow production
Phase 3 part 2: what the hell even is my turbofuel setup, what?!
Honestly I'll stop here
This is too much to think about
I like to kinda just throw stuff together and then as I go, reorganize and make better
Currently belting everything under production is my next game changer
In the middle of redoing my mini nuke setup
"Logistics floor" yeah?
Below your machines
Yes, that's my next idea
I gave logistics floors a go and they ended up being a nightmare for me
It's enough for most of what you'll want.
I've become more partial to vertical shafts for the logistics
Luckily I haven't designed my next big factory yet
I've only going to cheat one time. That's to get the gold nut statue. I feel like getting halfway there with 500 tickets legitimately is good enough
Having belts on the floor itself is easier but having to jump over them is kinda ehhhh
You decide where things punch through/out and it's easier to decide the elevation of belts and whatnot
What about pipes
Just remember that sending them in a junction upwards is not a good idea
Unless you actually know how fluids work
What does this even mean
Junctions carry fluids but there's no way to see this in game
The weld facing direction shows which part of the junction actually sends the most water
-# We won't talk about the vertical junction bug though
There's more to this nonsense because fluids have volume but everything else is a flat value
Which also can't be seen in game
It can be rigorously tested though
I've read enough of the basics in the Pible to generally not deviate from them, didn't know about issues with splitting a horizontal branch off a vertical pipe
Tickets are easy. Once you've got reliable power, just set up little automated factory at a SAM site, throwin' it or it's progeny right into a wood chipper Sink, and you'll have all the tickets you could want.
I need to read it myself before I make aluminum
It does include optimal strategies for aluminum within
I'm sorry for your loss (of social life)
My current pipeline knowledge is just a basic understanding.
No pipe manifolds, just take the inputs and add them to 600m³ and work from there
but I don't get it, why is it so slow
Welcome! It gets easier as you go, just enjoy the early stages and wonder of it lol
Straight line split outputs
(im a minecraft veteran btw)
do as the robot says
but seriously, mining speed is so slow
The onboarding/tutorial is very slow (and boring to me) but I guess you should get through it since it's your first time
I think I need bombs like in terraria
That will help a little bit, especially with space planning and logistics. The main difference is you want to automate most things 🙂
I like the intro to this game
hmm so I can't get a better pickaxe etc?
you need to prove you deserve better miners
it feels kinda boring, pressing E and waiting for like 10 minutes
*only manifolds haha
And pushing the max through Mk2 pipes can be unreliable
heavens no, you get auto miners
its a good thing you can use ctrl on the table bench though
Yeah they just want you to feel the pain of doing things manually. That way you see the value of automating it later
Sounds to me like you're just starting out. Use portable miners
The beginning of the game starts out really slow
Oh man, that's how prostitution works, too.
Why unreliable? I've heard that 580m³ per/min is the common average
hmmm can't I just go and do things manually?
When you can though, make some portable miners
I don't dabble in redstone much when I played minecraft lol
the portable miners drill then you pick the stacks up out of it
so it is pretty manual
Pipe manifolds are a trap, don't fall for them
We do have bombs that we do haveee
and is there like, some centralize statistics in the game?
Unless a specific output needs to manifold like in a fuel generator
Something around that, probably higher when potential issues are minimized. But that's exactly it, best case scenario your factory stutters a bit, worst case you lock up production
satisfactory doesnt have air resistance right?
That's how I use manifold systems.
They're so much simpler than real load balancers. The only complaint folks have is how long they take to get stocked, which is why I just manually stock them initially. 🤷♂️
For what purpose are you asking?
Physics are pretty basic
just general travel or maybe a glitch
Hypertube cannons
Did you have that idea yourself or did you see it from somewhere?
partially cannons but also some weird conveyor physics that can send you flying for a tiny bit
I have to admit this game is really interesting lol
just seen some weird interactions in some spots
We're about to expand your mind
It's carrying your momentum from the push
what is?
Your walking on a conveyor, both of those speed values add together and when you jump
Airtime
You do not ignite the atmosphere around yourself as you approach .001c, if that's what you're asking.
oh ik that conveyor speed adds with running speed
This is true and tested
im talking like meshing into a foundation or the ground and then getting flung out at like 300 kmh
Like in every Bethesda game, gotcha.
No need, the resources to do that exist in the base game
Do you have hypertubes unlocked?
Me when the skyrim troll smacks me 100ft into the air
I don't think there's anything like that in the game
sometimes
They take up so little power, and are easy to build
power lines is the poor mans hyper tube
Yes but you can blueprint the mechanism anywhere
the power part is the problem with that bc if i dont wanna use my grid i have to use a biomass burner
I would like to see if you can glitch launch yourself though, let me know if you make it happen
Power towers across the map resources that you're guaranteed to use is a good idea
Just include one in the blueprint. 🤷♂️
If you have factories all across the map you can make a sort of industrial archipelago
run power towers then you will have power and can zipline them🤷
i havent gotten through the whole map quite yet
I spent a day doing that, the world map is actually very amazing
The amount of love care and detail is very clear
It would be a game changer if you could devise a powerless launcher, you wouldn't have to run back from expeditions
||jetpack||
what should I do right now after finishing the tutorial??
ive found only one single mesh wall in the game
do I start saving up for the space elevator?
mesh wall being stretched wall
You won't really "save up". You just kind of... get there?
I legit haven't thought of this for some reason. Fantastic, I think I'll try making a blueprint for that sometime
just enjoy yourself, but the space elevator will give you cool new stuff
Just pin the recipe for it, and eventually you'll suddently notice that you can build it.
That's when you're ready to build it.
ok so why did i just make a hypertube circle and it shoved me below the map..
its a consistent interaction..
That's been known, hypertubes can clip under ground
With certain setups*
I make 30 time crystals and like 225 ficsite trigons/min is that enough for belts fr
It uses like 20,000 MW btw
Make those, fill a dimensional depot, profit
Your essential parts should always, always go to a dimensional depot. Never having to actually grab parts to build with is a game changer
is Plutoiums Fuel Rod in Nuclear reactor are they good or bad?
It just feels so convoluted when you first set it up; it almost feels like it becomes the focus of the whole game.
Plutonium rods are a step up from uranium rods
I think?
i got a nice view of the world now
Yes but are they worth it
made a fully enclosed hypertube cannon with a branch to leave and it flung my past world height but i saw it for a bit
I've never seen it brought up, I'd have to reach that point to find out
I know that waste recycling is considered an actual energy net loss right?
Until you can reliably recycle the waste, I recommend avoiding Nuclear power.
Isn't it just make all the alts, feed what you can and sink the rest?
As long as it isn't a net loss of power
question anyone have lag issues in multiplayer games?
like unplayable lvls of rubberbanding?
oh, usually not, no
The alt recipe recycling can be sank, I've heard that's a good idea when you need to have a net gain
No net gain, no nuclear power
(because I'm usually hosting)
Iirc no one's said they've made a full plutonium plant
i dont have the issues in a singleplay save but as soon as i get in a multi game its crap
So putting liquids directly into trails VS packaging it first which one what’s the pros and cons of both?
same for me whenever I join someone else's game
I just post 'em in https://discord.com/channels/370472939054956546/553550313533997057 then link to 'em there. 🤷
gravity for one
how do you link up stuff from another channel?
I right-click the comment, then click Copy > Copy Message Link
On my phone I hold it down for a sec, but otherwise, same process.
Ok so gravity is really the only con at all…?
haha
into trails?
TIL lol
Trains
That factory is gorgeous.
wait really? x)
#screenshots message
almost got coal power!
i just finished phase 2 for the first time what should i unlock first i wanna get into fuel power as quickly as possible
took me a while to figure out how conveyors work
Yeah! I've never really been in the Southern region much.
Ok so somehow there’s no difference between packing liquids and just putting them directly into a train other then gravity feel like that’s a bit off but ok
doing silly stuff here though #screenshots message
I just started a few hours ago :D
I always start havin' to see this all around:
#screenshots message
I just started a new game, but that green is really appealing.
:OOO
What do u mean bruh
omg, I need to remake my factory then
Packaging liquids gives higher throughput
I think packaging will have more capacity overall, not 100% sure on this but yeah
Sorry mate, I'm just not familiar enough with the subject; I've never trained, y'dig? I've never even successfully trucked.
Nitrogen gas packages 4x
It goes 4:1
Don't liquids need their own special cars? Packaged, you could just store 'em with everything else without using dedicated wet storage, although maybe not as much at a time...
They need fluid cars
But i dont know what u meant
That does sound better than wet storage.
wet storage is wild bruh
Also i have 1 fluid train in my whole world
And its for crude oil because
I needed it
Ok that’s what I was asking but god forbid a typo I guess thank your for answering like a normal human being
But avoiding needing dedicated fluid cars would be reason enough for me to package them first.
If you open a packager and select a packaging recipe then you will see the ratios of fluid per packaged fluid in this case a 6:1 ratio is alot better than a 3:1 because it compresses less
If that makes any sense
Balright so while i was afk my game crashed
This is awesome
the dedicated fluid cars arent the hard part its just that if you need higher throughput you package
LOL stuck #screenshots message
you need the boombox
what's that
You aren’t serious bro😭
that's the most humane thing I've found to do about those damn things
Boom boom to their forehead they run away
but just hypothetically speaking is there like a more permanent way to get rid of them?
how can I funnel all resources into one chest?
Merger
but only 1 input lane...
Merger
I've figured out out, no one makes plutonium because the waste needs to store
You man make ficsonium
That's a tier after plutonium
Yes
I guess it depends on how long you take to reach the final tier
Im in phase 5 working on nuclear
So i can make everything
but those cow giraffe things love the turbo bass 🪩
and one chunk can only have 1 smelter? ;_;
Cooked
Do you use raw uranium for the alt too or just take the bullet and use more acids and silica
wot
I never made a nuclear plant before😭
like how many smelters can you do at one ore place?
It depends
Unfortunate, I plan to
Im working on the aluminum for it rn
1800 aluminum ingots/min
the limit is in the hardware it's running on afaik
That's a delicious amount
And i can make 600morecuz i got an extra node
Only if i need tho
where can I get more power btw?
Extra power isn't a thing, there's always a set limit on power
It's just very very high
if you build the space elvator you get coal
I mean fuel
More crude oil
OHHH that would be a game changer!!
right now I have to chop trees LMAO
Oh
I don't remember the command but coal gens are easy to do
Keep chopping trees until u get coal power
can convert creature parts to biomass, saves having to go in ever-expanding circles to chop trees
Actually, cutting down big blue mushrooms is a massive biofuel gain
They're the best bio plant source in the game
Thats tech lowk
shrooms don't fight back.
the best biomass source in the game is revenge
My revenge was turning mob aggression to retaliation
Hogs genuinely pissed me off this much
Never turning it back
has anybody else ever used enclosed hypertube circles with a branch to launch you out at max speed?
They're just called hypertube cannons. It's even officially recognized by the devs as a part of the game
Bug became a feature
usually hypertube cannons are straight and you would need like 30 entrances to reach max speed
Belts can go straight or curve, foundations can zoop or vertical. All buildings can snap to their hitboxes
You can also do a q design too
thats basically what it is but i have to spam e to get out or else my frames start dropping
Ooof the hypertube fps suckubus
gets me across like half the map in about a second though so its alright
I was looking at discord while driving and crashed into another train
This why we dont text and drive bruh
Here's your court summons, if you fail to appear it will be taken as an admission of guilt
is there a way to rotate buildings?
do you mean like rotate them past the 90 degree incriments
no I mean buildings already placed
i went too fast and now my textures wont render..
finally built a space elevator :))
I got mk6 belts
uh oh
about time lol, took you long enuff
Bro what
You have to write an explanatory letter
im slow ok my worlds only 145 hrs
My coal power grid shut down and has no water :/
sucks to be you man! -Jim Breuer
back to bio
🐰 Never give up! Trust your instincts.
you have a setting doing that
this sounds like a perfect time to consider what to do in the event of a cold power start
No i dont
Charge up a big power storage bank and disconnect it
sounds like you don't have enuff water, sounds like you need more water pumps
Conveyor Visual Quality
Where that at
idk if hindsight works for that method
🐇 <- me fr fr
No. I accidentally unpowered my pumps while adding more gens
I lowk opened up setting and my game crashed
Ion think the game wants me to be happy today
||
||
My game has crashed opening my map with 200 markers on it
I'll set up radar towers i promise
oof that's not good, use some backup batteries to make sure your pumps are still online if you lose grid power
THAT'S A LOT OF MARKERS!!
I have two coal gens I forgot somewhere I’ll just use those as a jump start
I've marked most of my pure nodes
I'll switch to just radar towers revealing nodes soon
what does it mean 30 per minute on 3 iron ingots? like it consumes 90 iron ingots per minute?
What says that?
are they overclocked?
Why
It means exactly 30 per minute
no it consumes 3 iron ingots and 30 f them per minute
Are u playing on ps or pc
So i can highlight them easier
Radar towers show which nodes I'm actually collecting
Yeah. It’s just two running on a pure node and two separate pipes. They were the first I made
Console
Add me bro
it uses 3 1 ingots every 2 seconds
Ps5
Only worry about the 30 per minute in my opinion
you can have 5 of them on one pure node actually
The other number is just the amount is consumes or produces
with a mk3 belt you can have 5 overclocked coal gens
Good to know. Is that more power than 8 normal?
yes it is
each fully overclocked generator produces 187.5 MW but uses 113m^3 of water, so 1 pump per generator will suffice
5 overclocked generators will generate 937.5 MW
compared to 375 MW from them being non overclocked
is 600 packaged rocket fuel good enough for drones ive never used them
yeah it's enuff
Hello. My friend and I play the game together. I'm having a slight problem. I'm only able to join his game after he fully loads the world and then I have to launch the game, then join his world. Is this intentional? Is there no way to refresh the list of possible games to join in the Join Game area?
are you on PC or sonsole?
PC
I never had that issue on my game, I was able to join the world as soon as it was loaded
sounds like you might need to check out the #1038092680493801533
alrighty, thank you
I’m good man. Prefer to learn the game myself. Can only experience the game the first time once
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that Sbarro in the food court is never gonna re-open. 🙁
Did they change sinking plutonium?
Time for a new beginning
I just started a brand new world evn tho I ain’t finished the game yet
for those that have played the planet crafter, do the drones in satisfactory behave similarily?
yeah I bet, you need to get better factory setup so it won't look that way
Me personally, I js run a conveyor to everything
But shit, i haven’t made it super far into the game yet
what phase have you reached
A lot more than I thought for nukes - need to go build a few additional factories and then train that stuff in to make sure I can properly dispose of everything
what is the cpu 45/75% mean?
current usage and max
Anyone know how to get rid of that filter that gets applied at the swamp? Drives me nuts
ah
why the freak is my gas flow randomly going from 585-600
no train or anything its like a direct pipe thats at most 50 foundations away
Because machines don't cycle perfectly all at the same rate.
wdym
A machine "cycles" at certain intervals, depending on what they're doing. So, when a machine finishes a cycle (I'm assuming gens in this case) it consumes and then brings more gas into the bugger. If you have say 100 generators, needing a max flow of 600, it's very difficult to get them to all cycle at the exact same time, so you will see small variances in the flow rate.
If that makes sense (It's late)
im not the only one who thinks the blueprint system of satisfactory is pretty lackluster right? compared to dyson or factorio. especially when its already a bit challenging with the 3d aspect and overlaying aspect of building
No, but firstly it shouldn't be compared, this game is not the others and not ment to be. Secondly I find the blueprint system works very well, for the game that it's in.
My advice would be to try and sway away from the concept of trying to cram a whole factory in one 🤷♂️
definitely no reason not to compare similar concepts between games. but select, copy and paste isnt something that novel. making modular factories is a lot harder with the space they give us imo
i mean just another puzzle to solve but frustrating to me at times
i cant even look at an area and say yes i have 50 constructors here
For me it's about "modularity". And, simple machines like this with all the needed stuff attached greatly reduces time it takes to build things: #screenshots message and #screenshots message
I mean with the dismantle filter they effectively have
Another reason I gather every slug I see and overclock everything, I would always rather build 10 constructors than 50 any day of the week. For a bit of extra power usages sure, But I go big on power personally so it's moot.
Last time I made a "normal" power plant, it took me roughly two days to do 200+GW
yeah im still on turbo fuel i think its not he last step right? but need 50 plants
well "want 50 plants" to use all my turbo fuel
No, there is more to go for sure.
is there a way to tell how much headlift margin is left in a liquid pipe?
i know its a different game but some qol could still be improved. oh yeah like its not easy to tell what 20 m vs 50 m is.
for pipe pumps
but the game is super fun. makes me a little nauseated so i have to play in a windowed screen tho
It's very easy
You have beams, walls, foundations, pillars, and all have a "set" size.
I.e walls, are 4m high
Beams can be used like a tape measure up to 40m
Now, if you're running pipes up inclines, I can tend to agree.
But, still doable.
apparently i dont have beams. but 40 m is not 50 m
Painted Beams, under architecture.
must be a shop ting
What about Metal beam?
under archetecture i have lader an dmodern railing
Yeah, nm, I frgot you do have to buy them all.
Regardless, still have walls and foundations.
I recommend water towers if it makes sense for what you are doing run pipes higher than machines with pumps and take water off that that way you only need pumps on the one set of pipes
Also, as for putting pumps on pipes, there is a bubble that should show at the next headlift, and you never want to snap the pipe to the bubble. Place it just before.
bubble?
Sec
Loading, but, to preface, the bubble only shows after a pump is already on the line btw
also is there a trick getting logistic parts to click end pieces? Like if theres a belt line or pipe line i can easier connect a pump or splitter. but if its end of a belt sometimes it looks like its connectin but it doesnt
You either need to use a pre-existing pipe segment, or you can use walls/foundations to place a pump first, then pipe to it
I.e, pumps (and junctions) can be snapped to walls and the sides/top of foundations.
Without needing a pipe
This: #screenshots message (Ignore my "cheat zooping" 😏 )
thats how ive been doing it but sometimes annoying to have to delete 3 belts to to replace them for each splitter
oh thanks for the video that makes sense now
Fyi, spiltters/mergers also snap to lifts and celinigs. Not ure if that helps things, j/s
But no, not for end. Unless maybe if it's blueprints with autoconnect. Otherwise, Belts and pipes are "typically" the last things I do in my builds. So that everything I want to connect to is already in place 🤷♂️
ah having that blueprint is prob most useful
oh yeah useful for lifts didnt know
You can also do some "trickery" and get stubby lifts 😛 #screenshots message
I wouldn't recommend that, just use pumps normally
hmm when is that useful
Keeping things "compact" if wanted.
ah
i have yet to optimize my builds. feels like i got plenty of space and not a ton of resource needs yet
I would just keep trucking, learn optimization as you go and the next build can always be better than the last 🙂
hey, first time playing the game and i cant for the love of me understand why my belts arent running smoothly when the inputs and outputs are the same. anyone willing to help?
belts going into machines probably won't
For stuff like this (Many different ways to utilize, and not only on machines though) : #screenshots message
since it won't feed anymore during the time it's making something
ah helps with the belt fucklery
It'll feed into the buffer at least, it's just that it has to have space 😛
plastic -> heavy -> fuel -> turbo -> burning it off seems more annoying that it needs to be
so should i just smart splitter and dump the overflow? seems counterintuitive as that would mean my input - overflow is less than the output i need
machine fluctuations mess with your power, I don't think belts matter as long as they deliver what you need
Sure
Then even more so yes 😛
if ive got a splitter with one mk2 and one mk1 tape coming out, will i get a 2:1 ratio?
if you set it exact and the buffer is not full you may be able to get it to teeter there but having enough or under clocking the machine to save power is all you need to do
idk, it starts to look a bit.... gnarly
if I am underrstandinng the question
The max headlift of mk2 pumps being 50m and the height of a nuclear reactor plus a 1m foundation has to be planned lol. I was gonna tier my last 125 reactors but decided against when I did that math
is ther ea way to close how many spots storage has?
The "starter base" can tend to look messy. Once you unlock foundations, and some other stuff in the Awesome shop as you go, it can make things easier to "not make spaghetti"
afaik just put stacks of something else
like this is my current base #screenshots message
is it very spaghetti?
That "something else" can still exit the storage.
woulndt hat something else come out as well?
Totally! But also totally fine 🙂
I thought you meant for like an end container to store so much of something
tbh the small container is not very big though so
all my power shards used 🙁
WAIT I can overclock the miners????
And sloop most stuff too
why when i press double tap C sometimes it flies me higher instead of dropping me with hover
how do I add conveyerbelt mk 2 to my hotkey?
Open the Q menu, hover over the belt and hit 2.
However, you can also just use Mk1 and hit/hold E to switch
Or whatever number you want it on rather.
is instant scrap any good?
I can buy parts in the awesome shop??? :O
It seems... iffy
holy crap the awesome shop is literally an ecommerce website
It's a trap, not worth
It's okay when you have everything you need*
I guess
I'm not a fan of mk.3 power poles currently
I like the upm counter
It was useful for petrol burning cus i had a lot of extra
can put it by your mine then be lazy and just look what to set it to
Though I think I want to store petrol eventually
Because some cool recipes later require it
how iffy?
seems like a ton of extra steps
you mean oil to HOR to coke?
I only just unlocked blenders, I like alt recipes that remove extra steps
I'm more talking the sulphuric acid
Just take petrol from a plastic plant
well instant scrap is.. different. It's about teh same steps
and it's as efficient as Sloppy + Electrode
I have all three
imo it's more situational if you are doing smaller set ups because sulfur isn't in many spots
but if you want to do a large bauxite set up I'd prefer sloppy + electrode every time
.. I'm also using none of them
I want over 1000 aluminum ingot when I do mine
Sloppy electrode is great.
cuts out silica and it's often easier to use oil for electrode scrap than coal
if you make a large processing facility you barely have to bring in any oil for the coke, whereas you'd have to bring in an ass ton of coal
Whenever I unlock a new thing related to material I make a smaller setup before going very high numbers
Aka basic progression
Might be a weird question, I have just a really shoddy ironworks set-up currently making bare minimum reinforced plates, rotors & modular frames
I realized if I just siphon off the frames I could have smart plating & versatile framework being built, is that a good adjustment or should I be making a new factory and be a bit more specific with my builds?
honestly for mission parts id just move inputs to a separate machine by hand
so like ill shove modular frames n RIPs n shit into boxes connected directly to assemblers
ahh yeah that's fair, instead of having an entire automation system just feeding indefinitely
figure out what you need and slam into a storage crate
automate all the things and sink the extra for aweshop tickets!
and you'll be using smart plating for the rest of the game on elevator stuff so leave it running
That's fair, though I haven't found much I've liked from that shop just yet
outside of the concrete foundations, those were nice
A lot of it is to make your build look better/easier to organize but there is one achievement that you'll need a pile of coupons for if you care about those
What’s the maximum amount of coal gens I can have on a single mk1 pipe only feeding the pipe from the 2 ends?
Would it be 13? Bc you can run 6.6666 whatever by running water into it from just one side
think so
!wikisearch cg
The Coal-Powered Generator is a power generator building that generates power by burning Coal, Compacted Coal or Petroleum Coke and Water. It is the first fully automated power source the pioneer has access to and also the first power source to use a mined resource.
One Coal-Powered Generator produces...
at that point you could delete the small piece of pipe in the middle and have it 2 pipes anyway 🤷
Here are some designs if you want to use them
So the 8 coal gen per pipe is the max?
How good is star rupture
The ratio is 3 water extractors for every 8 cpgs
II got 6.66 like you did 🤷
for 300 flow rate in a pipe
Well that’s if your only running your water pumps into one side of the pipes
You don’t have to use that your own design will prob work too
I still have a 480 coal gen setup in the snake tree crater
Honestly should I leave it there
Yep why no free power
Because coal useful
if it's from both sides that's basically 2 pipes
True ig
Why do people not recommend more than one stop on a transport train line? If it still takes 10 minutes to make the trip it's fine
Never heard about that I thought people have problems with multiple trains on the one line
Multiple trains aren't a problem, too many stops on one line shortens the distance of your overall trip
But 5 minutes is a decent chunk of time
Ig docking and loading/unloading takes a good bit of time too
5 minutes to location, 5 minutes to come back
anynone has an idea how to simplify plutonium conversion from urianium? cause i saw what is needed and my brain is hitting hard
It's throwing me a curve ball too but Im nowhere near that stage of the game
Why pour uranium into the alt recipe when you can just use silica
I know that's more sulfuric acid but at that point in the game you're gonna make so much of it
i can produce uranium realtively fine but getting to plutonium is a headache
I just made my first youtube video😊 I made 2 episodes of Diablo 2 resurrected
Normal and 2 impure nodes is crazy
Take the output of one machine or of a simple number of items and follow it; this easily scales up (or down).
Eg: two Uranium Fuel Rods per minute equals 100 Waste/min. This then gets split in 25 and 75 in the following production steps to make... And so on ^^
So close to space elevator phase 3 😁
Working out trains auto movement is a pain right now
Is the alt uranium recipe using waste worth it when plutonium already uses waste
I think?
awesome proud of you!
It’s my first run and I have 100 hours currently
Generally no, but you should define "worth" for a precise answer xD
I'm on tier 7 and am at 112 hours
Your really good
I have 5 worlds
Guess what I just finished
My first world: Pig Benis, where I played on early access and got to tier 8
What did you finish?
I made a tower with the elevator with floors for every node type with labeled storage crates took me a while
Tier 8?
yuppers tier 8 nuclear power
I though there was only 7
Is this good?
If you count the tutorial (Tier 0), they're an even "10"
these are my five saves
#1 Pig Benis got to tier 8
#2 too fast too factory I got to tier 6
#3 Saddest Factory I got to tier 2
#4 another crap factory I got to tier 8
#5 Beer Towne I am on tier 7 right now
what is your go to music for this game?
Just checked my pre tube launch checklist and realised I forgot to grab cable 😭
I’m now on the other side of the map
oof sorry to hear
Time for me to hop off for the day
i am thinking about starting a new run. should i wait for 1.2 tho?
My 1.0 save seemed to work no problem after updating server to 1.1. But still wanted a fresh start from north forest, not been around there a lot
Trains on flat track 120km/h which is 2km/minute yes
So i can definitely make more than one stop to pick up items, like pure caterium and more pure copper
As long as the overall return trip isn't longer than 10 minutes
Add more trains? Or is it single 2 way single track?
2 way single track that seems longer than I want to time properly for a fill rate of 960 iron ingot per minute
2 way single tracks*
I could cheat the system and just wait for only the iron to fill
As I technically lose throughput if I wait for the rest to fill
Manifolds are easier to upgrade as you move along
hmm what do you mean though?
the throughput is capped by the conveyer belt's speed
its rather unupgradable I'd argue
unless you mean to do a horizontal upgrade than a vertical upgrade?
Updating the belts in blueprints
wait there are "blueprints" in the game?
If you add a single part to a load balancer you have to completely redesign the system
I just started a couple of hours ago btw so im still a noob
not necessarily I think? you can just add more belts input to the subsystem
It's fine if you're absolutely sure the load balancer has that many outputs
You can upgrade belts and miners just by building later version over the old
can't you just do a vertical upgrade too? if you add in more input bus that would work as intended I'd argue
Manifolds are just so much cleaner to work with and add to
but isn't manifold very bottom heavy?
like the end part of a manifold probably have way less throughput right
Not if you do math properly
If the machine takes that much per minute anyway its perfectly fine
The machines tell you how much input per minute they need
yeeep, that makes a ton more sense
Once one fills the next is in line
This is called "warm-up" and can vary greatly and has workarounds
they end up being the exact same efficiency
all a manifold cares about is
a) you have at least enough parts per min
b) your belt is fast enough
it doesn't care about which machines on the line use what pm, it'll self regulate
hmmm another design question
the only real reason to do a load balancers is if you think they are cool and enjoy them
why do we do a mirrored-manifold pattern?
like having one manifold on the left and two on the right and 1 output bus at the middle
There are infinite ways to use how manifold outputs work
because often items per min becomes crunched down to fewer parts per min each step
you don't have to do it ofc
hmmmm idk, im pretty sure there's real practical use case to load balancers
it's just sometimes convenient
'radiation' technically. But radiation is a trivial issue as long as you have filters automated
I mean manifold is a load balancer technically
it is explicitely not
manifold takes some time to fill up so its not gonna have max output at start
If something isn't a load balancer, it's an overflow manifold
you are technically balancing the load after each bus is filled
At most it divides each output by 3 from the input
how is that not a load balancer?
nope. A load balancer is constantly delivering exactly the amount pm each machine is needed
a manifold explicitely overflows items to the next one
the earlier machines will always be clogged up while the later machines will run with just on time delivery
They need this anyway because you want an exact output to not clog and slow throughput
Merger manifolds work the same but they multiply inputs
but lets say I have multiple servers and I have multiple clients that wants to connect to them. If I use a manifold pattern then the clients would connect from server 1 to server x after each server is completely loaded, hence overflowing from one server to the other
isn't that pretty much load balancing?
if I don't do a manifold overflow, then the server would just be overloaded and crash while the other servers would have 0 load
||
