Easier to plan things out if you split them into adequate chunks
It's also fun how the different production lines match up together as you change numbers ^^
I wouldn't really say the numbers match up well here, I'm kind of forcing them to
Found my first alpha stinger
To the PAIN!
how many MW output do you make your coal power plants, out of curiosity.
are the alpha stingers the ones that are bigger than the player?
Yeah
Didn’t even try to fight it I JUST unlocked basic steel
Production
scary
whatever 32 gens make
oh, 2400 MW
i have zero coal gens... I didnt make any this save
I didn't really need nearly that many, but I also used a different coal generator setup from most people
@reef basin @ornate saffron Made PROGRESS tonight: spent 2 hours making an AI Limiter factory leading to a Sink. It’s a REAL spaghetti shit, I just wanted to understand the basics, you know, paper and pen. So with 1 MK2 Miner slightly overclocked mining caterium and coveying it through MK3 conveyors (because I understand NOW you should choose your conveyors DEPENDING on the machine and how fast its producing), 2 fully overclocked Smelters sending their caterium ingots to 3 constructors fully overclocked too and sending their Quickwires through MK3 conveyors, ANYWAY, stop about details, I’m figuring how the game works by MYSELF and I produce 25 AI Limiters/min that go DIRECTLY to the Sink. Overclocked machines do their work, zero waiting, chain’s working, work DONE. But SPAGHETTI done.
i am not delighted with the layout of my coal plant
I guess most folks are using that 3/8 setup in the wiki, I use 2/6 with one of the extractors overclocked to 150
lol someone worried about clipping stares at my factory
i try to avoid it 😄
but i just wanted the coal plant running
im also running the water intake things at 75%, so i am pretty sure my layout isnt optimal anyway
sometimes you just need function over form
yea, well it worked! I had to build it miles away from my factory and I was running out of iron plates so had to dismantle some foundations, so i have a few generators just floating on the water 😄
wouldn't the new spline thingy actually hurt cpu performance by having to recreate hit boxes when you enter new areas? I never had a ram issue but I do have a CPU issue
It doesn’t matter if it clips it just matters if you’re able to place it
yea but im just odd about the clipping. I am pretty sure I can avoid clipping by either raising the belts or sticking in a pump in the pipework
actualy not sure about raising the belts cause not sure i can raise the splitter
you can put a splitter ontop of a conveyor elevator
maybe it's too close to an input to get a belt down to it?
im about to build a world train network. Is there a way I can just make like a tower esque blueprint w rails on them that auto connect, and i can just freehand the curves and slopes w the auto connect
like this but not as high: https://www.reddit.com/r/SatisfactoryGame/comments/1al44x2/i_made_train_track_blueprints_and_im_very_proud/
or would i manually have to connect the rails doing tihs
I just finished tier 3 in my HUB what should I do to my factory now
Nevermind I’ll make more screws
Is there a way to "sort" my dimensional storage?
Nope afaik you can only pin
u can pin things to the top
not without mods
Oof
nice!
don't fall for ADA's deception about complaining about screws being weaksauce, just do what you can and if you can build without them do so.
On a semi-related note, is the dev still actively adding content and/or QoL? Even if its in the form of future DLC?
1.2 is planned for next year
Amazing
Yeah, v1.2 will be coming out probably in the first half of next year
And they apparently have a gameplan for what they're doing after that, though no information is yet public about that
(And information about v1.2 is quite scant as well)
All good, Im happy to wait, just excited to know theres more to come
What? A gameplan? Sounds like a road to Satisfactory 2.0
LASERS?
Just an example
hello chat
could be alternate game mods. a expansion, new maps... Who knows. anyones guess
ping ping ping
@mystic oriole reminder for the npp thing
I've got your request written down. I'm still working for another half hour.
sorry
there are 4 types of nucelar reactors that use water as a collant, those are RBMK,PWR,BWR, and SMR
not here #off-topic-tech
don't you worry, I don't mind reminders, because sometimes I truly forget, I did have a massive concussion like 6 years ago, lost a 1/3 of my memory and couldn't tell who was my wife or mom was standing there. Lost my trade.
Well, can’t build much without them, gotta make rotors for absolutely everything now
when you get an alternate recipe to not use screws, jump on it.
i fear this... im 6'6'' and hit my head a lot so many stitches... so many scars
anyone have an issue in a larger world where turning kills your framerate while you're turning?
I woke up in the night and fainted into the tub while peeing
When exactly would someone unlock that (tier 3-4 just bought all of tier 3)
if you can do advanced steel that alt reciepe should be open. But hard drive collection.
I guess I’ll go for advanced steel next
Can you help me?
Please
what's the problem?
I need help with water
My machines aren’t getting enough water and I’m pretty sure I’m extracting more than enough
Here friend Me, and then we can call
Have you put down pipeline pumps
A lot 😭
I'm still at work.
but the problem could be that you need to redo the pipes between connectors.
Ok
pipline pumps are a must of course.
Maybe you just gotta make more rotors
chat i have an idea for next gen power source
that glitch?😭
its really far fetched
that glitch can happen
it happen with my fuel gens😭
can happen with any fluid
I had one the other day. That replaces the geothermal with something more advanced.
my idea is adding fusion power
How about after uranium we used like a better approach at end game where we kinda like crush up leaves and wood and stuff and we burn them and it converts to energy
specifficly a tokamak fusion reactor
Right, if we had a power plant that was on a geothermal spot, that required all advanced fuel types to run but gave massive gains it would be epic
I just want windmills
there's a mod for that
can i dm u my far fetched idea?
sure why not
play sf+
Instructions unclear, played sf-
That's just regular sf
fr
no it’s now unsatisfactory
nah best hours
Depression hours gng
real and not real
Very happy with how these are turning out 😄
I'm going to try to do almost entirely micro-factories that blend in. Minimal vegetation removal.
Also I'm starting in the giant's forest lol
that looks wild
I didn't' know there's a bunch of belt visual settings that aren't touched by setting the overall quality level. Turning them down by hand made my game playable again 😄 Solid 60-70FPS
Time to make some more nuts
Oooooh
That's where i started the first time
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/553550313533997057/1438670434043166912/image.png?ex=6917b9c0&is=69166840&hm=88a381a6058d7a358aaaf18e458cc66bb3077423b4a5bad5876f47da46eab5d6& coupons go brrrrr https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/553550313533997057/1438670699194482688/image.png?ex=6917b9ff&is=6916687f&hm=bce2a0f332ef86a34f0c3f33a41bf84fc75fbc56dee4a11f527cdf4326cfeaef& BWDs go brrrrr
Just want to say, I love "Autosave Jetpack Burps" 😏
I quit the game around phase 4 I think, and I want to try again and start over to get farther, any tips?
Why'd you quit?
Meanwhile, masochists long time pioneers: "what's the most complicated way I can do this...?
"
What got hard? When did it stop being fun and start being tedious
I don't ask to be a pest, but without knowing where you actually draw the line between the two, you'll just walk right over it again following the same progression
Try starting in an area with tons and tons of resources. Maybe go easier on yourself with a bit of spaghetti.
Dune desert is fantastic, expanding into the west beach for oil
Yeah it started being tedious when I needed to things that took like 6 thousand recourses a min to make
Also I hate exploring cuz those goddamn spiders
Just because the space elevator says it needs a 1000 parts, doesn't mean that's how many you need to make per minute 😛
I am terrified of them even in arachnophobia mode
Arachnophobia mode 🙏
Oh lol
Yeah, unfortunately to can only completely disable via Advanced Game Settings.
Ik but I want to be making enough that I don’t need to afk in the game for 3 hours to move on
🤷♂️ Use that time to decorate, clean up some things that had been on your mind while building the last thing...
Trying to make a factory to fill the space elevator in minutes within the factory booting up... is a good way to make "huge" factories (ie: burnout material :P)
I usually make the building before the machines
Not minutes but I want to be able to have it fill up in around an hour
I've often wanted to graph out my own personal factory-build speed rate (which presumably is not linear with factory size) versus Elevator delivery goals
I tend to target 2-hour Elevator completions, but I often wonder where the actual "break-even" point is
If you plan a ~3 hour exploration trip after completing the factory for one space elevator, you'll probably strike a decent balance between factory size, time spent exploring and how many hard drives and other useful items you might have aviable for your next phase when you come back ^^
Like where you actually spend more time building than how long it would have just taken to finish without building more?
Like the build-time difference between a 2-hour-delivery SE factory and a 4-hour-delivery SE factory for me is probably well over two hours (though that presumably depends on the parts in question, too)
Yeah, exactly
So... six tens of minutes... very short :P
I mean, really, finishing space elevator deliveries within 1 hour is already challenge territory for most elevator phases
Oh, I am severely guilty of that 😛
I find just looking at the cool stuff in the mam is inventive enough to go explore.
Too many factors to ever arrive at a "realistic" graph, of course, but it's something I often think about when building/planning SE factories, anyway. :P
Though the hoverpack is a good reason to just rush space elevator stuff. So… shrug
One reason I quit was also making fuel power plants was such a hastle, I didn’t have much fun with it cuz it was very unreliable even when i overproduced oil for them
I had to manually fill them up before I could run them or they would just never fully work
I eventually went packaged fuel and it is trivial to get 600/m flow rates with packagers/unpackagers. But then it killed my game until
Today when I turned down the belt draw distance stuff
I was using packaged fuel
Also it’s super easy to do oil overflow if you package the oil and use a smart splitter. “Make as much rubber and plastic as I eat then burn the rest”
Never unlocked those in the mam
I have found that it takes me two days to get a full RF factory going from a single Pure node.
With 250% unpackagers on a mk2 pipeline? I get perfect 600 flow down a bog standard manifold to fuel generators.
I never did get smooth flow hooking up blenders straight to the pipe that feeds the burners
No I used 1 packager per refinery since they had the same rate
Yeah I guess that works too 🙂
how to get the output from a coal generator?
Connect it to a power pole
and that pole you your grid
Yep
i just realized i got online at 3:30... its now 7.
yo this game kidnaps you i swear
but now the coal generator is being charged
What
Uhhh, by feeding it water and coal?
How do you charge a coal generator
or it doesn't need electricity and the thing is opposite
!wikisearch cg
The Coal-Powered Generator is a power generator building that generates power by burning Coal, Compacted Coal or Petroleum Coke and Water. It is the first fully automated power source the pioneer has access to and also the first power source to use a mined resource.
One Coal-Powered Generator produces...
The coal "Generator" creates electricity..
so it doesn't need electricity to work right?
Yes, to ... yeah. that
i made a bimass burner and connected it into coal generator
I love batteries
Although I made like 100 and whenever I looked at it even from across the map it lagged my game so much
Im new to the game, biomass burner does 30mw, if i have 3 miners, 2 smelters, and 1 constructor, it should be 27, why is my power grid shutting down?
Its filled with biomass
I think that’s more than 27 mw
Oh
So Im making modular blueprints for a conveyor bus. Supports of various sizes, stackable belt supports to fit those sizes, belts on stackable supports, etc.
When I built a bunch of belts and supports, I used a ton of RIP to make Mk2 belts. When I saved that BP and then loaded a different one to make a "right turn", it removed the belts I had built previously, but I wasnt refunded the materials?
Do I need to disassemble manually if I want to preserve parts between BPs?
What’s rip
The materials should be in the box next to the computer
Reinforced Iron Plates
Oh
oooooooh
I thought the bench was a single interactable unit
didnt realize there was a storage crate. tyvm
Nope, two things there 🙂
Also, if using the DD, be sure to check the box in your TAB menu that say "Take from Inventory Before Depot"
great, what if i have few coal generators, how can i connect them all in a single power line and it power my entire factory, or do i need to manage each coal generator output into few things?
Best to connect them all to a single grid
how to do so
yeah I ticked that as soon as I unlocked it. DD is great, but inventory would clutter so fast if you were constantly disassebling and not pulling from invent 😟
I always have a separate grid running the coal miners and water pumps. If you lose power to pumps and miners you may have a hard time "kick starting" it again.
how to even connect all coal generator into same grid
You run 1 wire off the back of the generators to a single post. Then you connect all those posts together
Very long wires and power poles
each coal generator gives 70mw, i want to connect them together so a single power line provide the combined coal generator mw
#screenshots message This is an example, from my old biofuel at my starter base
You can connect your generator to a power pole and connect those power poles to each other. As long as you can follow the wires from one machine to another, they're on the same grid.
thx
#screenshots message I guess I'm either going to come back from the grocery store to find that I made a perfect loop of nuclear power with no waste or radiation, or it's going to be a radioactive wasteland with my power grid shut down because I miscalculated a water ratio somewhere.
no reason to force-remove screws
lol
Is there a way to build disassemble a bp Ive placed, but to filter ONLY for that bp, so I dont destroy a bunch of stuff around it with mass disassebly?
Dismantle mode to BP, dismantle filter on that BP
If you make screws on demand by the machines that use them they’re quite manageable
chat do i play siege or do i play peak
How important is the slave elevator really it’s been like 4 days since I finished phase 1 and I haven’t even started phase 2
It unlocks more unlocks. So eventually you run out of other stuff to do
I dont see an option to change dismantle modes, is that a later unlock?
Though now that I wrote that, I'm not sure what will get filtered when you aim at a BP - the BP or the component of it you're looking at
oh relax
If it’s an unlock it unlocks with BPs
or maybe don't write stuff completely unrelated to satisfactory in #satisfactory
what's funny about it? 🤔
i asked if i should play another game or play satisfactory. lowk dunno why i would call something "peak" in a games discord server if i wasnt already referring to it. yall acting like if i talk off topic the world ends.
isn't there another game called peak?
There is definitely a game called Peak
yep there is
Bro got so caught up in slang that he forgot some of the words he says are used by real people too 😂
It's funny because I hate screws.
Why?
Because a game called Peak not only exists but is new and very popular
I hate them because the only good reason to use them is copper rotor 🤮
Nahh, sorry, I'll take 15/min RIP any day 😛
And waste both space, resources and power for no benefit? You do you ig
definitely not "very popular". and again, why on earth would i bring up 2 insanely unrelated games in satisfactory's discord server, in the satisfactory channel. the term peak being used to describe something great or awesome is VERY common, however the game peak, peaked (no pun intended) months ago and is not at all particularly popular now.
fun fact, 1.7k sing cells /min requires bolted iron plates
lmfao bro is still going on 🤡
Pretty sure I didn't optimize it for anything other than max sing cells so I wouldn't be so sure about calling it "required". Maybe it is, or maybe SF Optimizer just chose it because all 4 recipes gave the same sing cell output and the RIP recipe choice is irrelevant
Your idea of what is common is heavily based on who you center yourself around. I almost never hear anyone use the term peak to descripe something's success outside of a handful of public discords I'm in, and even then, it's fairly rare. You are probably the most recent case since maybe a week or two.
Because people literally do exactly that every now and then?
🍿
I agree with you on this, mostly. However, peak, describing something as very awesome, is an adjective. You used it as a noun, so I immediately thought of the game peak (never played it, only heard about it).
Exactly what resources am I wasting with Bolted Iron plate? As for space, so it's an extra couple either making iron rods, ingot, or beams ... And, it's always said "there is enough 'space'" in the game, soooo, how is it wasting space?
I don't want to sound particularly corny here, but I spend a concerning amount of time on things like TikTok or Instagram, and the usage of the word "peak" to refer to something as good is insanely common. And I'm not really talking about niche subcultures using it but rather comment sections with tens of thousands of people commenting. it has an all time peak of 160k players active @ once which is relatively low for a game as popular as you and @hard ivy mentioned.
If anything, any other RIP requires 2x the amount of assemblers....
i use bolted plates because it's quicker per plate per constructor. I don't care if I'm wasting 5% more iron on it
stitched plate needs less assemblers
and where I watch videos, with some getting millions of views, I rarely see it used
it's super convenient to use in a blueprint that just takes iron in and puts reinforced plates out
"I spend a lot of time on TikTok or Instagram"
#satisfactory message Please see and actually process my previous message before further attempting to engage me in conversation. I am always open to a good debate, but I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent.
among the ignorant, nuanced words often just become synonyms for "really" or "really good"
people hear them used in context and don't understand the context and think they're copying what they heard when they're not
when in truth the last thing english needs is more "really" and "good" synonyms
Umm, and how is that again? Bolted is 15/min, stitched is is only 5.625 /min... So, right off the bat, you need more than two to match one doing bolted...
vs base RIP
If that's your feed then that's fair, I'm just going off of what I see online. But I know there are many different things and communities with many different things going on in them online, so it makes sense for many people to not immediately understand my use of the word. So fair point.
Wasn't talking about base. Initially the convo began about the use of screws
"Im assuming all of reality bends to the bubble I live within on Instagram" has got to be the best reason Ive seen yet to open a bottle of rum at 11am
hows everyones day?
yeah so bolted is 50 vs 36 screws per 3. but if you're making screws as you use them that's meaningless. The convenience of getting more per assembler is well worth it to me -- at the cost of iron ingot
It's more resources
yep, but that resource is iron ingot so IDGAF
What? You said it's based on the people I center myself around. I'm using these comment sections with many people in them and acting as if they are the "people" I center myself around.
at that point there are many things I'll prioritize before I'm worrying about a small % of iron
How much further can a power tower stretch cables, and is it worth using if Im going to be building conveyor lines to the same place?
Idk, with 10 constructors, two using alu beam, and the other 8 making steel screws, easy 4800\min screws 😛
I have blueprints that just use iron. Coal and aluminum become rare late game.
I just tile this blueprint until I have the number of RP I want
If you're making screws out of iron you aren't even saving space by using bolted. It only does that with steel screws
Man, that's amazing. I've never seen someone turn a small communication error into an argument in such short time.
I always just pull all the bauxite to one spot any more. 12,000 ingots ready and useable for whatever. The other 300 go towards trigons.
Welcome to the Internet? 😛
300 or 400 m? It's on the wiki
vs I think 100 of a regular pole
doesn't one cast screw constructor line up perfectly with a bolted plate assembler? I think it worked out pretty nice when I made the blueprint. I honestly don't remember now but the numbers at a galnce look like they work
your argument is so bad it pains me. not once did i say that everything i see or do is the same thing everyone else sees and does. i literally just went over this here: #satisfactory message
maybe backread next time 💔
No lol. You need 5
🤷♂️ I never pay attention to it that way.
And if you think for a second, you'll find you're in a situation where that assumption you are using is being met with opposition. Normally, this would lead one to question, or even realize, that there is a broader reality outside that limited assumption, and to reconsider events. Maybe even leading to a major development where they see how their choice of phrasing miscommunicated and was met with said resistance.
Or blandly defend themselves using their social media feeds as justification for poor communication abilities 🤷
yeah never mind.
Either way, Im spending more time explaining personal developement to you than building these blueprints, so Im outtie ☮️ I hope you find fun in whatever you decide to do
@median geyser @dusty harbor Is this how y'all wanna spend your time? Arguing over a small communication error caused by a difference in social circles? Just correct the error and move on. Don't compound the error by also bickering over something so inconsequential.
yeah you're right -- I just remember it lined up nicely. 5 screw 5 plate 1 bolted plate https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/553550313533997057/1438693511993102437/image.png?ex=6917cf3e&is=69167dbe&hm=5e1b4098b8570cf4c53c5591a7ec2a31a3fe67d087dcb7efc298f5a2bab4d45a&
You’re reading way too much into this. All I said was that I see the slang used a lot on TikTok/Instagram, that’s not me using my feeds as some grand justification, it’s just the context for why I used the word.
You jumped straight to condescension and acting like this is some deep philosophical debate when it really isn’t. If you actually want a conversation, cool. But talking like you’re delivering a lecture doesn’t make your point stronger, it just makes it harder to take you seriously. As I said earlier, I understand clearly that the world does not revolve around me and what I know, but you seemed to ignore that message so that your argument got across. Also it's funny how you chose to leave before actually settling an argument.
hey man they bickered at me first. if someone wants to disagree with me and not expect an argument back then they shouldn't have disagreed.
ah he ran away from the conversation anyway
good, he was the better man then
rampart?
https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/p9a1v/im_woody_harrelson_ama/ -- infamous AMA where he wouldn't answer questions about anything other than his movie... Rampart. Which to this day still no one has heard of a decade later
Oh, well, full circle, still best for #off-topic-general 😏
😂
ghosting the argument or just ignoring me would make him the better man. i argue that he just left because he didn't want to reply to someone who had a decent point 😭 but ill pull a frego and say im heading out too.
👻
Mentos, seriously man, no one cares. Move on. Play satisfactory, or whatever the other game was, or go watch some more ~~ brainrot~~ tiktok, or whatever else sparks your fancy.
What are the pros/cons of moving oil 2km+ vs moving the plastic and fuel back 2km+ after processing?
plastic and rubber are great to set up train infrastructure for -- you're going to need them LOTS of places. That and aluminum make a TON of sense to ship refined products vs "ore" -- and then you don't have to deal with shipping liquids either
why move it at all? process at location, put into depots
Need a lot more mercer spheres for depots
once you start establishing a proper 2-rail highway system sharing resources becomes essentially trivial as you build new factories -- you just build a small extension and you ahve access to everything else on your rail system
Only have 5 atm, and no upload upgrades
the reason is that you need it to BUILD stuff so you're going to have to move something somewhere. depots don't unload stuff
Sorry 4 😂
Can I get trains before plastic? I assumed since trains were T6 that I would need materials from T5?
they do require plastic iirc
yeah and you'll need computers to make them useful, too
ah, shit 😂 This is my first time touching it at all
oh it's computers
Right, we process on location
I wish you could mark certain things as requiring some additional level of confirmation to destroy. just killed a drone port instead of a belt. That's a reload -- I have no clue what the drone port did or where it was tied to
Now that Ive made BPs, how do I make sure they line up? Do you guys just start at your current base/destination and start slamming out foundations?
if you're tiling them then use blueprint autoconnect mode
and hold control I think?
they will snap to each other
My buildings are 20x6 foundations, like five stairs, and double that number since that’s 2 buildings face to face: is that too big for a first real factory well designed?
or just blueprint mode -- you don't need the autoconnect part
Lol, I have a bad habit of "catching things in the background" 😛
there's really no wrong way to do it so just see what you like and next time change what you don't 🙂
Fear of emptiness in these buildings
Or may be….
MORE MACHINES
no
I just need to unlock silica, can’t design a fucking thing without windows 🪟
if anything it might be a bit small
20x6, five stairs, and double that number?!
only 6 tiles is going to be a bit cramped
@sharp basin if you want to get through this game at any pace at all, don't try to pretty up your early factories
fair terrain is a pain
I have 60 hours of factories like spaghettis man, I need some STRUCTURE in my alien life
@sharp basin here is one of my medium size factories: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/553550313533997057/1438700574311972884/image.png?ex=6917d5d2&is=69168452&hm=4876e858d2928a255317d6c6addeaa457d5c6c9fa65cbcc7f5f86b6340ac0899&
whats a decent ammount of modular frames per second that would be able to see me through the rest of my playthrough?
i want my frame factory to look nice so i dont want to rebuild it
you just want to beat the story?
Yeah. That’s big. That’s your MEGA BASE?
as of now yeah
you're not making enough
no that's 1 medium size factory
100? I dunno. I'd say that's a good number.
maybe get by with half that?
100% not making enough right now but im saying i want to make a factory that looks like all of the frame types stacked on top of eachother
so i was wondering how many of each type of frame i should be making so that i know how big each floor needs to be
make a blueprint that you can just tile that just takes iron ingots in and spits out frames. Then just tile that blueprint down until it makes the right number.
Man, the factory I’m talking about is just for tier 4 - phase 2 products. That’s why I say I got plenty of room.
#screenshots message uuuuuuuuuuh... i dont even have coal power yet... is that actually a fucking nuclear bomb? 😂
welp, forget oil power, im going far from home to see wtf this thing can do
play how you'd like but you'll be able to get MUCH more ore out of whatever you're using now so if you want to expand later you may be sad if you put a ton of time into it now. but do whatever is fun 🙂
alr
should i half it with each additional frame recipie or is that unrealistic since ik the later ones get complex
like 100 modular
50 heavy
25 fused
10 pressure cubes
don't be too close but it's great for making friends if you're playing multiplayer 🙂 Play catch with the other dude
that was sort of my math for saying 100/m.
Here is one only doing Quickwire 😏 #screenshots message
oh alr sweet thanks
I think I like the idea of having MULTIPLE factories. Not very, very big ones. I’m thinking trains will be happy about that.
I don't ever ship anything that builds out of iron/copper/coal/limestone -- I just build it on site because you can get that stuff anywhere. That's not entirely true I do ship some steel stuff sometimes, but generally that's my rule
That’s fucking cool man, I should try making round stuff
yea but what xaxxon showed would genuinely be connected to a rail network as a sub factory. I'd say it's on the larger end
don't until you have trains
There are both mods for building round stuff and also you can do it in SCIM
How far back do I need to be, and will this leave lasting damage to an area, making it unviable for gathering from nearby nodes?
just medium distance. And yes. but it's not massive. it's big but... like it's just maybe half your screen if you're a normal distance away 🙂
just save and then shoot it 🙂 and if yo'ure not happy with the resuilts then reload
PS5 player
STBY - for making round stuff at least 🙂
Just shoot it and then save
while it's in midair 🙂
You can manually save?
and delete all your other saves
And there's a spider jumping at you
...yes?
that's what the "save game" option does?
question mark
and whilst in the swamp
ngl... i have completely blinded those top 3 big options as header text and never processed them before. Just paused and unpaused hitting escape 😂
I was looking in manage session and server manager like "This guy said save... where the fuck did he... oh..."
I’m still trying to DEFINE what’s this first base is about. Finish up phase 2? Of course? Piling up tier 1-4 stuff? Yeah. Can it be more than that? (location is the stone arch in Grassy Fields)
I need different points of vue!
Sigh I knew this stupid blender would back up on water...
Oh well time to reload that save right before I connected the power to the first uranium fuel rod factory
connect it to a buffer and not worry about it
Oh I know what it was, I forgot I wasn't using all of the acid
so it wasn't going to use all of the return water
derp
can you send a screenshot of what it currently looks like?
How do I change the type of explosive my detonator is "checking" for?
it'll trigger all
Doesn’t look like anything, just the starts of the foundations and structure (6x20, five stairs, double that number with the opposite building)
Sure, but its currently telling me I have 0 base nobelisks and not letting me load the nuke to deploy it?
again, do what makes you happy, but let me tell you the game intentionally breaks everything you do early -- with complexity and scale.
oh putting it in invent and re-quipping fixed
yea and I'm curious to see where you've placed them
how do I connect my bio burner to my smelter?
the game intentionally says all that shit you did earlier? Yeah, it doesn't matter
power lines
power poles and power wire
what does it say?
power poles have a limited number of connections based on their mk-tier.
Holding R changes ammo (not just in nobelisks)
so you have to make another power pole and connect it to the power pole you have -- you'll have to remove a connection first
And machines can only have ONE connection
machines can only connect one line, you have to use power poles
so you'll go bioburner to a power pole -- from there to 2 constructors and another power pole -- from there 2 more constructors and another power pole
it's connected to something else -- delete that power wire
that'd do it
smelter - smelter
Project is: Grass Fields stone arch in the middle, two buildings facing each other with the stone arch between them. Bridges and corridors connecting the 2 buildings going though the stone arch. That’s the plan. Now I gotta build it, and understand what to do with it.
yes, for some dumb reason the game doesn't understand that you shouldn't be able to connect two input power terminals
you can also connect two bioburners together directly -- which also is nonsense
ye but I don't understand why they can only be 6 tiles wide
Because of the terrain around the arch, believe me
One of the 2 buildings has to be
So the 2nd too
But man, 20 foundations long is big right, it’ll make up for it
I think this game has successfully made me hate water
eventually you unlock tier2 power pole which is a HUGE upgrade -- instead of 2 useful connections you get 5 -- so over double
#screenshots message Would this quantify as medium distance? Its on that rock ledge at the bottom of the map 😂 Ive learned that my sense of scale pales in comparison to you more advanced players
no no you want to see it go boom - don't throw it over the edge. just toss it off a medium cliff or something. --- not even that high
sooo... top of waterfall?
idk man i read nuke and think of a city 😂
it's not that big
it's not. Like.. it's the size of those big dinosaur things
the flea tick ant giraffe things. maybe two
it's two
And it WILL be a little bigger: stairs on each side, pillars around the buildings, stuff like that
#screenshots message good luck
uuhhhhh right clicking isnt setting off the bomb
you have to be standing on top of it for it to work I think
I’ll show you more when I’ve started. I need more coupons. Can’t design a anything without options in mind.
i moved onto the ledge in the screeshot, im just way at the back of it near the waterfall... can I shoot it to remote detonate?
xaxxon really wants to get someone killed
My Sink factory is going well but not as optimized as I thought it was. Miscalculations.
You can hold your click to throw it
i am like tops 20m away from this thing and it wont explode
its on ground, detonator no boom
did you save? reload and try again?
Do they have to be unlocked to splode?
... I think if you reload it'll just blow up btw
I've never heard that.. but I've never tried
at least my nobelisks do lol
Same.
:sadge:
Was just wondering
nah you can have multiple nobelisk types out at once
Man some day
lol this percentage it calculated, 224.9917%
im gonna unlock nukes
I suggest reloding before it chagnes its mind while you're standing on it
and part of my map is just gonna start glowing 😂
Not producing enough copper sheets.
I was good with quickwire though.
Does one detonator work for all nobelisks btw
Seems so, i went from starter nob to nuke on the base deto
The problem was that I died after placing it, and when I respawned, the detonator had "re-attuned" to the base nob. Since I only have 1 nuke, I couldnt swap it back to check for nukes, and it wouldnt detonate
I've only ever used the starter nobs in this game
the factory must grow
Made one factory at the beginning of the game and it's been supplying all my murder ever since
Reloading put the nuke back in invent, so I attuned it again, and just tossed it into a void and hit kaboom
They're really the best. They do what you need them to do and no more. I actually wish there was a "micro nobe" that only affected what it was attached to
Is there a way to reduce the fog when you get into low areas?
I've also made no other weapons in general lol
just using starter nobs for everything
You hit ~ and type r.fog 0
everything died a slow and excruciating death
oh my god the game just got so much prettier. tyvm
how to go to config?
Which config?
to do this
Can someone explain train signals i have seen multiple videos and it doesnt make sense 😔
oh nvm i see it
Not sure if on console, but on PC you hit the ~ key
how far down into the fog is the killbox?
Sounds like some ladder time 😛
Oh, and if you havn't make a ladder to the death box in the sky 😏
There are some that one can do for better 'lumen', at the expense of performance of course.
@wicked nacelle I’m still gonna try that model in my buildings, you know, chain more and more complex the more you go upstairs, with everything going up, and final products at fifth stair. That way I can add as many smelters/constructors/assemblers as I need to, even in a 20x6 space. Like smelters base level, constructors 1st and 2nd level, assemblers/foundries above. Using conveyor lifts, everything goes up, and it’s quite simplified. Right?
What would this be? Im currently running on near-max i think, so im curious as to what else I can tweak.
Also, is there anything for level of detail?
yeah sort of, except smelters kinda get replaced with MUCH MUCH bigger buildings if you want to maximize ore efficiency... so go do your thing but just don't cry later 🙂
This is what I am currently using:
r.AOGlobalDistanceField.MinMeshSDFRadius=1
r.AOGlobalDistanceField.MinMeshSDFRadiusInVoxels=0.3
r.TemporalAACurrentFrameWeight=0
r.TemporalAASamples=32
r.PostProcessAAQuality=5
r.ToneMapper.Sharpen=1
r.ViewDistanceScale=5
r.Shadow.MinResolution=256
foliage.LODDistanceScale=2
foliage.DitheredLOD=5
r.MaxAnisotropy=16
Placed in the Engine.ini
Will any of those affect water? I see foliage LOD
There may be some, but I am not sure of them. I believe the Wiki has a list
!wikisearch console+commands
The debug console in Satisfactory can be used to access debug data (like player coordinates or a list of radiation sources) or for changing some options not available in the game's settings, such as disabling the fog or enabling an FPS counter. It cannot be used for cheating (e.g. spawning items), Advanced...
More efficient smelters later?
Hmm they're kind of underselling how radioactive ficsonium power cells are...
How far are you?
Tier 4
Basically you can use an alt recipe called "Pure <Insert Ingot here>" later
you make it in refineries with water and the ore
At the expensive, you know, refineries.
Also some other recipes that mix ore types
Ahh, you'll get the building they are referring too in T5
Well there you go, I did it, I built a full nuclear loop without a hazmat suit
Question: 1 node is enough for any products? I mean, if I need like 1 copper node and 1 caterium node, I can still go mass produce everything I need necessiting only iron and copper?
Do these exceed the in-game sliders?
Now you can crown me
Yes
The first two are special commands outside of the normal options
Holy heck though, those ficsonium fuel rods are radioactive as heck.
Dang thing's inside the nuclear burner and still hurts anywhere close to the building...
Why can i only connect my train track blueprints such a short distance?
@sullen gull because I feel 1 pure node can feed a LONG and COMPLEX chain on its own, you know what I mean?
I'd say no, not when you get into late game
It very well can. Depending on the numbers you are trying to achieve of course.
Speaking tier 4 of course
Oh right now? Yeah if you overclock the heck out of it and squeeze every drop out of it, maybe
I mean, sustainable numbers
Gem or Coal chat
But if you're going to go for a low node challenge you want to use pure recipes
Yeah I already overclock my impure nodes, but I only have MK3 conveyors so….
Enough
like enough for what...
Enough for advancing through phases first
Technically you can complete all of the phases in the game just by putting one one dinky underfed factory and leaving it on all night
So almost anything is technically enough
does anyone know any future roadmaps like if theres ever gonna be a tier 10?
Unfortunately the answer as to whether one node of each type is enough for you depends on how you build
But... hmm... Honestly yeah I think you could get through most phases just with 1 pure node if you tried hard enough.
You know what? I need to try stuff. i’ll try that « everything goes up floor » method and see. If it’s not the best, next factory will be BETTER.
You'd have to set up crap tons of refineries though to use the pure ingot recipes I think
The pure ingot recipes take up a lot of space but they're insanely efficient on the ore
Technically, for iron ingots, leeched is the "highest return" at the expense of sulfur, but MUCH less water. 2400 from leeched, 228.57 with Pure alt
From one pure node that is
Sulfur feels kind of rare to me, never messed with those recipes
It will be more than that. Around 2/3 nodes per ore for my 1st factory.
Well multiple pure nodes then sure, especially if you bothered upgrading the belt and miner every time
#screenshots message Thoughts on this location for my first "real" factory, with busses and proper assembly lines and floors and decor
I use different belts depending on the products/min, on each machine, each stage of the chain. I go with the flow. I decided to play without calculators.
why bring your own calculator? Press N any time and throw a simple equation into the search bar, like 270/15, and itll spit back what you need to know
Honestly, best bet is to work on going through the first save but making one machines worth of end items, so that you can learn the production chains. Because, chances are. you'll learn something along the way you wish you knew earlier when making large builds
That's fine, you could technically get by for mk1 belts for a lot of things since they're so low yield
I usually just start using whichever belt material I'm mass producing.
Exactly, like for smelters
Which is all of them...
Smelters is a weird example, if you have a smelter line they should be making a heck of a lot
I don't like the in game calc for most things as it doesn't have a "history". Or an ability to "hit enter and progress from the answer" type of thing.
I don’t have the numbers right now, but caterium was SLOW.
for quick single op math, it's great
Yes Caterium is low yield
I do most of it either in my head or I alt tab and do it in the search engine lmao
It's sitting there bringing up random crap related to the numbers
I used MK2 belts, could have used MK1
I do still have my starter base, solid biofuel power plant (its offgrid and just a relic now, but its there and functional), my coal generators, etc. Do you suggest I just keep going with that, or did you think this was where I was going to put my starter base 😂
Caterium is one that I bothered to make a pure refinery line for
You'll be using a lot of quickwire later
I did it, but spaghetti style, planning to redo the same system in my 1st building.
Hard for me to answer that one since I don't follow the mentality of a "starter base" and adding on to it. Once I progress, I will build multiple different factories across the map. Many times, just remaking "base" items on site.
Hmm... well unfortunately despite me perfectly tuning the waste disposal and uranium/plutonium/ficsonium fuel rod usage, this isn't quite perfect, there's a bit of radioactivity near the buildings and a little off-cycle because of the low yield of the products...
Oh well
And for now quickwire is only to make IA stuff that goes to the sink directly.
chat bna is so peak
I wouldn't bother redoing anything, just leave it and build on top
You can’t imagine the spaghetti level man
Everything that’s ugly is gonna GO, that’s it
Ah. That is the stage Im currently at. Im moving into steel and oil and trains and the like, so Im planning to "remake" my iron/copper/other basic material lines in a cleaner fashion, all in a large factory, and that will also give me a place to expand on later
I’ll replace EVERYTHING
Nah man I embraced my spaghetti #screenshots message
And it's even more spaghetti after I set this up this nuclear end to end factory #screenshots message
I wrangled my noodles
Maybe just me tho I don't really get why some people say to spread out, I guess it's a personal thing. I found it much easier to just have everything in one spot and bring it there
In that regard, I am a huge fan of the "logistics floor" 😏 Kinda like this: #screenshots message
Yeah you seem like a spaghetti man
But my lines always made more than I needed for whatever I was using them for, so it lets me send resources to other lines
like I'm using my encased beam thing from like... phase whatever.. after phase 5 lol
#screenshots message See I feel like my first base is a spaghetti mess 😂
You can see most of your logistics floor in one go, I can't say that about mine 😛
It's more like you can see the entire logistics floor
except the stuff I put in the desert
I can't lie, it wasn't always that way lol.
Oh you were talking about someone else's
That's the logistics floor of total baux factory 😛
My 1st base is MUCH WORSE
That’s why I’m telling you: REDO EVERYTHING
My first (and only) base is probably worse
To be fair, I followed a few basic guides on youtube to set up better condensed assembly lines. Once I figured out and understood the progression of making a given material, I skipped the 10h of trying to flatpack it down into the smallest space possible, and hit the 6y old youtube guides
Gotta go to sleep, this game + discord is eating up my WHOLE LIFE, spaghettis everywhere
Send me some good ones bro
This is odd though, between those two water pumps and the blender that's turning the uranium waste into non fissile uranium, this should be providing exactly 450 for this power plant
but it's only at 96%....
Oh well, maybe it just takes a long time to stabilize a nuclear cycle
uh, theres this british game, infinite something, Ive been following a lot. Next time I look one up, ill DM you the link
Guys. Can I get a quick check for me so I can do some maths??
Oh, I knew something was off here, I was producing 2.5 plutonium waste per nuclear plant, not 5
Where the heck did I get 5 each from
welp tear down one ficsonium nuclear plant lol
What is the amount of packaged water used in a fully overclocked refinery in dilueted packaged fuel alt?
As trying to work out how much packaged water per minute I need to make
you can just check how much you need in the machine
I'm not at my pc rn. What's why I'm asking here ahaha
ahh
Yeah
might be able to find something on the wiki, i dont know off the top of my head
Tanks
I did it though.
Clearly better than the average ape
This is the first time my production has been higher than my consumption in such a long time 😭
doing nothing but geo and sloop is like living life on the edge
Building a railway around the map is actually so easy wtf
Depends how you do it, if you make it fairly simple and use a lot of blueprints then yes
My friend is about to start crying because of the amount of math he had to do to optimize a factory 😊
first time?
You mean like... addition, subtraction and division
you could probably find a use for calculus if you tried hard enough
but not multiplication
I'm sure you can do DiffEq if you wanted to model the population of the wild animals in the area
maybe
when i was first learning calculus my mind was blown
like why did they save this until grade 12
Shrug the rules of it are simple for the most part, then they start getting into laplace transforms for difficult integrals and then they add in multi dimension integrals so you can do stuff like amperian loops and gaussian surfaces
Then you start learning about transcendental equations and runge kutta because you're too tehe bonk to do them
i wanted to do integrals but i think they took that out
so in highschool its basically just derivitives + applications where i am
later stuff is either self taught or in uni/college
I took AP calc at my high school but that was a very long time ago. I remember not studying for the AP test for it and still making a 5 somehow even though I couldn't solve one of the last problems or two in time
Teacher also didn't teach us integration by parts which I needed when I started at calc 2 in college...
but not hard to pick up anyway...
so you got no college prep courses?
Or are you saying they teach calculus for grade 12 without any ap courses...
I guess every generation is getting smarter then, except the one that's using AI to solve all the problems anyway
Soon you'll have to start telling everyone to take off their glasses for inspection before a test lol
im in canada so its a little different than the US
I met some IB people at GAtech, they were hella smart all of em
we have locally developed (for those that are developmentaly challenged), applied (college/workforce level) and then academic (university prep pretty much)
i was taking academic the whole way through and was struggling for grade 11/12 but locked in on the exams for grade 12 and things worked out
on the calc exam we all had to make questions for it and my friend made one about me having a receding hairline that got put on so theres that 💀
im going into aviation so im not sure how much of this im going to need beyond some fairly basic trig and maybe calculus
We played Mario Kart on the projector in class while studying for the AP test
lmao
Is it worth going down the turbofuel MAM unlocks? Or should I spend the hard drives on alt recipes?
Lmk if you want math tutoring
There's enough for all of it
one of the teachers i had for a few classes didnt do exams so he let some people bring in a switch or something and we got the whole class on smash and mario kart
The sulfur chain only needs 2
i am DONE with math for now that was rough
Is it worth prioritizing over early alt recipes tho?
I mean, sure, yeah
I feel like we're about to get bonked for going way off topic soon though
Rocket fuel is nice
I’m in AP precalc now and it’s relatively easy. Except for slant asymptotes….
oh is that whats after turbo?
Yes
ionized
After rocket
Just do division, the asymptote is the quotient part.
would they teach that in precalc?
Yes
i dont think long division to find asymptotes and stuff was taught to me until 12th grade math
well i guess thats what pre calc would be
where i am the earliest you can take a course like that is 11th i thin
I took it in 11th and didn't take math senior year
and thats if you were locked in on math for the previous years
I actually failed calc the first time I took it in college
Then I had it again, and that professor had a focus in algebraic geometry, so it made so much more sense
you might be able to take it in 10th if you were really smart but the electives arent very flexible during 10th grade
Mind you, I took 5 years to go to college after HS
iirc you only get 2
So was out of practice
fair enough
But now, math is life
Ive done half the map in 30 minutes
Im just out of steel beams
ive been out of school for like 5 months now and it feels like ive forgotten most of the stuff i did
My student tonight was learning polynomial division and synthetic division, so I got to show her the remainder theorem.
even my writing has gone back from passable to kindergarten levels
Also the IVT
oddly enough i dont think synthetic division is in the curriculum as a thing that has to be taught for me
like if you learn from online or a tutor or something the teachers wont dock marks but its not something they have to teach
It’s only useful as a guess and check factoring method
It's basically just a shortcut method of doing division by linear factors
Not exactly
But kinda
at the very least its a hell of a lot faster than long division
Or if you’re given a root. Which is just so contrived
I mean, RRT is a thing too
And you can use IVT while doing synthetic division to help narrow down the search space
One of my other students is doing a lesson called Linear Programming. Which is basically solving linear inequalities with constraints and optimization, and I got to translate a Satisfactory problem into their language 😭
you should tell them to go play satisfactory as homework or something
FOR REAL
Never actually heard of synthetic divison
Don't remember being taught that lol
Guess engineering school didn't think much of it or I just forgot it.
It's usually an "extra" that they'll teach if they have time
its just faster long division
Welp all 4 of these nuclear plants are at 100% efficiency I guess that's fully done.
Nice 🫡
stupid water issue early on, grr water
I'd react, but you blocked me 😒
RN it's basically 1 187.5% uranium plant, 2x 250% plutonium, and 1x 250% ficsonium
Seems to be the good ratio
pain to set up but no waste and made quite a bit of power
Hell yeah, no waste is the way to go
I haven't even bothered with nuclear, cuz nitro rocket fuel is quite lucrative.
I can build gens 3 at a time with pipes and cables, so it's not a slog.
Oh I forgot I did do that because I made a ublock filter to hide any of those notifications.
Well that was a while ago so I'll let it go.
Now I just have to convince Cobalt to unblock me 🙏
Lmao
Fat chance with that one though.
The fuck you do
Does anyone know how to break the rock that is on crude oil? What explosion should I used, I can't place a refinery
just bought satisfactory what should i know as a beginner?
nobelisk
ignore any and all advice except this
I tried to and it's not breakingg
explore and learn on your own, until you can't
Welcome to your worst nightmare and your latest addiction for the next 20 years
I'm going to tag you in it @feral geyser
that doesn't jive
What?
Does the large rock have cracks all over it
yes
then it should blow with a single regular nobelisk
thank you
oh golly
Many obelisks. Blow that fucker straight to the space dock
I tried that, let me tag you in it #screenshots
unless you are talking about the pressurizable fracking node
Sometimes the cracked rocks have some particular spots which need to be hit with the explosive
as long as it is stuck to it, it shouldn't matter where
Kind of annoying but you end up developing a bit of intuition about where to apply the booms
Guys when I use my water extractor, if I put all the water to the same pipe would it still power many coal gens?
I tagged you in it @feral geyser
yeah, that's a fracking node
I've encountered plenty as recently as 1.0 which seemed to require some pretty specific targeting
you can't put regular extractors on that
you need the Resource Well Pressurizer (unlocked after aluminum)
Is crossplay on console working now?
I don't think it's an intentional thing, but I've definitely had recalcitrant boulders. :)
Damn I do not have that unlocked, I have never heard of that
tier 8
you'll get there eventually
Oof I'm not even there yet lol
you will also find nitrogen or water nodes like that, need it for those too
Thanks for the tip, I need to focus on my main task cause I'm trying to build a massive oil refinery
yeah, you can still do it with the regular nodes, then save the fracking ones for later infrastructure
Ohh okay cool did not know that
Make sure you have the four key alts before you put too much time in. Otherwise you’ll put a ton of time for very little results
Before then just make a little easy one that you don’t mind tearing down
bro, i cannot 😑 my game keeps duping object scanners
Well you can make lots of…. What builds out of those?
nobelisk detonators
Key alts?
heavy oil residue (the alt), diluted (packaged) fuel, recycled plastic, recycled rubber
those recipes DRASTICALLY increase the amount of power/plastic/rubber you produce from oil
plubber recycling is a lucrative business
Oh damn I think I messed up on that but I will be on the look out for more broken ship and research
a single 600 vein can net you 900/min of each
it's good to set up some plastic/rubber production without them... just don't go and rig up an entire large area of oil using the base recipes -- this is basically the only spot where it's crazy to use vanilla recipes. everything else... pros/cons -- this is just pros
Yeah it's dreadful to deal with having to go back and fourth to my main base and stuff to get every thing I need
Thanks for the tip bro
gotta do the Dimensional Depot research
I did but I'm still trying to unlock the upgrades
for plastic/rubber (and later aluminum) it's 100% worth getting over the learning curve on how to set up a 2-rail highway train system. it's AMAZING once you understand it
i kinda wanna delete everything on my main save and start from scratch
until you get trains (and signals), then plastic/rubber is just a bit of a pain
but i don't know if i should
I'm doing that right now, trying to set up a two-way train system
alternative to consider - create a fresh save, load it into SCIM and unlock all tiers and alts and mam research
good for you!! the two-rail system (where each rail is one way) like a highway is the way to go
couldn't i just load this save into SCIM and delete everything?
Damn right!!!
that's also an option, whatever works for you
both ways are probably equal effort
i have a friend that cracked satisfactory and he says its up to date and he has the multiplayer stuff but i still cant join him
ive bought the game pre 1.0 so im legit but idk how to join him
Cracked??
what exactly do you mean by cracked?
tell him not to do that
pirated
head out of the gutters guys head out of the gutters
that is very strongly discouraged here, nobody will give advice regarding it
Now why would go on here and say that, the devs deserve the money for everything they do.
Shame on you
thats what i said
but he went erm its moral because theyre owned by private equity and they dont deserve money
I won't engage but hey you do you
not interested in whatever his reasons/excuses are, nobody is going to help
tell him to buy it
Ask him to buy the game
the way to join him is to get him to buy it, then we can help
and quit being a little bitch
that wont work
then you can't join him
then neither will joining him
as in you wont help me or it just wont work
both probably
both
No why should anyone help you it's obvious what needs to be done lol
thats not a reason, im law abiding and i payed for my copy. i just want to play with my friend
Then offer to buy it for him if you can lol
nobody here wants your friend to be able to play
if he buys it then you can play with him
hes the only other person who im friends with who plays satisfactory and i dont deserve to be punished for it 😭
I don't agree with wasist often.. but yeah
you're not being punished
its 60 bucks mate
he's the one punishing you for it, tell him that
Where?
yeah little bro you though you would get help lol
don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out
im glad whoever said its 40 deleted that message
we do care, a lot, about people paying for it
lil bro is CRAZY
i didn't realize Australia was so hard up
when he pays for it, if it still doesn't work, then we will help you as much as we possibly can, until then you're talking to a brick wall
yeah theres a thing called currency bro 😭
is there a way i can get SCIM to delete everything except sloops and spheres? cuz i don't wanna have to go collecting them out of machines
ever heard of how countrys have different inflation rates and their pay inflates with it?
sure the cost of living here is horrific
but it scales soooooo
just delete absolutely everything then place a stack of each in your inventory
ugh, i guesssss
and not everyone can shell out 60 bucks. i js wanted to play with my friend but clearly yall have a questionable view point
it's absolutely not questionable, your friend is the one who's preventing you from playing with him
i agree he shouldnt have cracked it but it doesnt mean hes a bad guy hes just broke
you ain't gonna find support for piracy on the official game discord
Little bro if you know how pirate works you know online aspects of any game is often disabled due to you not buying the game lol
that's not even a questionable or controversial viewpoint
i know its not but it was worth a try 💔
<@&387163995947270144> ban this guy
stupid question but like jeez
just ignore no need to ban anyone
Tell him to cut some grass for a week or work the paper route for 2 weeks to get the money
it was not "worth a try" at all, it's immoral
emotional maturity of a toddler, cry abt it bro
at least warn him
i know it is but lets not forget I OWN THE GAME
I PAYED MY 60 DOLLARS
nothing is stopping you from playing the game
Then be a friend and buy him the game when you get paid and pay all your bills if you have enough
It's against the server rules to discuss piracy, so ptobably best to just move on to a new topic
im not rich aswell dude i cant afford it. im not a piggy bank i can give him 5 dollars but i cant spare more
Now I'm going to disengaged from the conversation good luck to you
i agree, lets move on
don't do that please
Does anyone know how to use train signals?
what's up?
Nope, nobody knows how they work, it's a dark art engaged only by the highest of wizards who live in a spider cave behind a strange little rock that glows with a slight green tint in the morning
so hows everyones day goin
I have a "T" intersection or maybe considered a "Y" intersection, that I can't get the signals to work. The keep saying loop into themselves.
was going fine until some fool asked about getting past anti-piracy measures
probably take a break and let everyone forget about you for a while
I have a 2 track main line, with a 2 track "spur" that only goes one way on the tracks but I can't get these signals to work
that's a bug -- if you put a signal right on the split of the tracks, it will do that. Delete those and move them back a smudge
yh fair enough
@kind jewel it's a crappy bug cuz that's where you want them to go... you can also try rebuilding the track over and over til it works but... ???
Came here to give this another bump. It would help us a lot to know if you guys are still crashing on UObject during gameplay after the recent patch.
you can tell the bug because if you're holding a signal in your build gun it shows the track colors -- if the track is the same color on each side of the signal -- taht's the bug
all i wanted to do was play with a friend tho, sure hes stupid for pirating and i hate that he did it but like all i wanted was to play with a friend
I have the engine.ini change in because I was crashing -- should I take it out?
drop it please
mb mb im just salty
or did the patch remove it? I guess I didn't check to see it was still there
If your save file is not large enough then yes. And if you crash during regular gameplay please share the logfile
it's this right?
[/Script/Engine.GarbageCollectionSettings]
gc.MaxObjectsInEditor=100000000
gc.MaxObjectsInGame=100000000
and I'd still see the same "uobject exceeded" or whatever in the top of the crash window if I'm getting it still?
yep
can you comment out lines in an ini file? ; ?? -- vscode thinks so
I think so , it should be using ' ; '
So what should the limit be now?
did you guys up the default or get rid of the crazy "it goes up 10k when you press e on a building" ? or boht
it was crazy watching it with the uobject counting mod when you spam e on a building... up up up and away!!!!!
No we did not change the default limit, we fixed a bug where the Uobjects being created from the Arrow indicator hologram (input/output on belts/pipes/ factory building) were not being removed. AKA - Blueprint auto connect causing Uobject crash.
it would eventually settle back down... if you didn't crash
Hey Guru i have the uobject crash from the other day i think when i got it
Problem is not with the rise of Uobjects, that is okay. It is bad if it does not clear up within like 10-15 seconds and continues to stack.
can you check #screenshots and see what you can see? There are no signals becuase i just removed them.
yeah that's fine. Now when you put the signals back down don't put them at the snap point where the rail merges/splits. Put it a little past where it goes to just one
@split trench can you talk at all if the "signal on track split" bug is on your radar? it's a HUGE pain point for supporting players
and people don't understand that they DO understand trains when they see that and it's just a bug and so they get SUPER frustrated -- and the 1.0 tutorials were done before the bug
all my signals are on track splits, how come it works for me but somehow doesn't seem to work for so many people?
Hmm unfortunately I am not aware of this issue, do you have Q&A site link for this issue so I can better understand ?
Hello chat
You put a signal on a track split and it says "signal loops on itself" and the track "color" is straight through the signal
How’s yalls day?
\I'll look but it's probably the #1 most having to support bug in the game that's not like.. console specific or something
guru is a cool person
I am gonna send that to uzu
fyi guru
the uobject crashing wass BEFORE u peeps made the changes on splines
i added it in #satisfactory-experimental
the 2 videos i showed and the mention of the train station hologram was meant to show that they go up and up on just having holograms like that
at least a screenshot would really really help me understand what the issue is.
ya atm guru if u having a train station in game the uobject limlt goes high and higher
like hologram about to place it
so y'all use the Uobject Counter mod ?
we have to -- to know if we're going to crash
@split trench have you not seen this bug? #screenshots message That's crazy
it's constantly biting people
its having a angry day on u
yall i am terrified, all my math says im makin 48 uranium rods per min but my throughput monitor says 96 HOW, DID I MATERIALIZE MORE URANIUM
From what I hear of this game, we should have the option to have enclosed conveyor belts or some sort of cover/shroud over the belts. That way the game doesn't need to render the items completely, just maybe like a light or texture element alongside the side that represents it. I could be sort of dumb and this is just a horrible idea that wouldn't even work, but if it could work like the way I'm thinking then wouldn't it be good?
And if i ik i am going to crash or it turns into a other colour as it goes on the mod i reload mysave
of the uobject mod
You can turn down the draw distance -- and it's NOT included in the general high/medium/low settings. I just got a TON of performance by turning down the belt distance and update freq
even though I have everything else at ultra.
i only run the game on ulltra if i need heat i run it on medium
Sadly no, this is the first time I am reading about it. Interesting that placing a signal further ahead makes it work, but doesn't if its on a split.
#screenshots message -- yeah I made it happen intentionally but the game LOADS and uobject counter mod says I'm in the red. I spam e for 15 seconds and I crash
it's very much exactly this. And if you rebuild the rail enough times eventually you can get it to sit on the split -- it's almost like it's some sort of floating point comparison issue. but moving the signal to the unsplit side ALWAYS works immediately. Also, you know about the "mouse wheel often doesn't switch the signal side" bug?
he might ask for logs and such
Where to report bugs?
Q&A Site preferebly
it's nothign magic. my game loads at like 80% the limit and each time you press e it goes up a TON for a little while. the qa site is the official site, we're just all piling on guru because he's here
The screenshot is super helpful and I will try to repro the issue on my end. But yeah no promise as to if and when this will be addressed.
Wait its like 5aam for u peeps in sweeden guru
my game loads at 1.7M ubobject and each time you press E on a building it spikes up 70k more.
Why are u up?
so it's trivial to get it up to 2.8M or whatever the default limit is
pressing e 15 times or whatever
Dedication! 😏
i love this community
Yeah I want to see the factoryGame log from that session.
#faq message in logs area
%localappdata%/FactoryGame/Saved/Logs I guess
Or in crashes
or crashes for mine
Thank you and all you at CSS do for us listening etc etc and looking at bugs or requests at stuff and i also love this community
Where is my buddy @grave burrow He more knows about the uobject limlt 😛
@split trench I think I pasted the same crash log part like 6 times, sorry https://discord.com/channels/370472939054956546/1438752125961244782
I remember when i was doing my iron refineryys or copper refs for something i remember that i had to constantly save and reload which i hated it
dunno if you were asking for me -- I already had the engine.ini upgraded limit in place -- I just took it out cuz guru asked for it. Now I put it back in and I'm gucci
he is the guy if i remembe last year that did so many ficmas gift trees in his world
are the train tracks still coming for uobject stuff?
or splines
Pssst guys, I just got to oil fuel at 31 hours, am I on a normal pace? 0_0
sure -- prefectly normal for you playing the game 🙂
No such thing as "normal pace". Some people will have completed the whole game by 31 hours, some people won't have got that far after 500 hours
enjoy oil fuel -- it's immensely powerful. don't forget to look in the sulfur tree in the MAM for new fuel types that make your fuel able to generate WAY more power
As long as you're enjoying yourself, then you're all good
Ooooooo, how much does it generate compared to coal? Cause I was lowkey getting fed up with having to expand my coal generators every like 1-3 hours or so
Thats very comforting :>
Do either of them benefit you? If one does, then take it, if neither does, leave it until you need something
They do different things, so no clear answer. Both are excellent alts
I read somewhere that you can only have 3 dismantle crates on the map at a time. Anyone know if this is true ?
No
They do merge if you have that setting set though.
What setting?
Was hoping to make it easier to dismantle my factory
It's in gameplay, I forget exactly what it's called
You'll find it
Okay. Do you know if it works for multiple people? Lol
If I were to connect 5 water extractors to one pipe would it still be able to power 5 coal gens?
I believe so. It searches for an existing crate within 150m and merges them.
Mk 2 pipe?
Mk1
No, they can only carry 300.
