That said, enemies won't randomly aggro on you; so long as you're not being actively attacked you can generally just sit there forever and you'll be fine

And if you are worried about enemy aggro, you could change the game settings to "peaceful" or retaliate temporarily (or permanently!)

A lot of times folks default to centralizing production of stuff, which often means trying to expand existing production lines and such, and when you do that, past "mistakes" just start compounding each other

Challenges are kind of about that: they focus on some aspects one likes/prefers, making them more challenging or just more relevant to their gameplay

No that's not really an equal comparison. Endgame belts are a kind of ridiculous step up to the point where they can take the full output of a mk3 miner. Up until them, you basically can't ever clock your current miner above your belt's capacity; you're always constrained. Performance at different tiers of belt kind of matter.

Math wise there's no way for you to need less production centers with a sushi belt setup, because you're trying to put more things on one belt. At best you break even, at worst you now need a lot more space taken up in both sorters and machines

You seem to be talking about "sushi" in general, so I'll be answering on that assumption (prior topic was "single input sushi").
There's plenty of ways to try being "efficienct" in how many logistics one uses, but they all depend on how they decide to set up their machines; to cite 2 extremes: groups of machines making all the same item Vs groups of machines making different items (or one complex item). Numbers of items moved between machines or groups of machines can change wildly depending on how machines are grouped and placed respective to one another, but assuming one finds a layout they find ideal: if they end up with belts sharing a path but not being full, then it's likely that they can reduce logistical elements by using fewer belts

for 150 packages /min
and to package 150/min you need 300 fuel/min
or 150 w/ sloop
so it takes 150 fuel into 600 w/ 1 packager and 1 unpackager (max sloop+oc)
therefore you get 450 not 515

But regardless many people think it somehow makes infinite rate and it doesn’t

Let's say you start out packaging x fuel for y packaged fuel. Sloop makes 2 be 2*y. Unpackaging 2y you would normally get 2*x, but now you get 4*x, which you can feedback into the packaging line. You could then increase the size of your packaging line while keeping only 2 slooped machines and repeat the cycle, each time adding more and more packagers and unpackagers, up to I guess some pipe flow limit. You could go from almost 0 input to the pipe limit of output. How is that not broken...

So splitting the output of a slooped Packager in half, you already have your "fuel output" and "fuel feedback" lines

The games map is crafted by a team of people to make sure all spots are balanced besides the plains. You will always have an ore that is far away and even then the plains are still pretty balanced

the thing is - the map has some total amount of resources. You're gonna eventually use a lot, so it doesn't matter if you do impure nodes now or later. You're still taking the same amount from the map

also, you don't always need full pure node anyway

there's a quick select wheel, but you have to have something selected first. and it only shows stuff similar to what you had selected. it can't be the main way to build anything. nor does the game tell you about it other than the single tooltip above the hotbar
