But you see, I'm that efficient that I have designed an algorithm that works for me
Efficiency is just clever laziness
I am working 10x harder
so its just for fun and my rant about having hyper tubes be able to have packages of crafting items sent down them is thus valid.
If you want to transport it it can be easier to work with that way but you should generally just use oil where it is
Then transport plastic/rubber/packaged rocket fuel for drones
Dumping into the ocean
i know i was just wondering if there was a real use.
some absolute gigachad has probably set up a truck system to cart all oil to a single location to process in a mega sized factory
OH OF COURSE WHY DIDNT I THINK OF THAT
Make the BP crisis look like a happy little accident by comparison
to transport it as an item instead of a liquid
Basically what I half expect whenever I boot into a save thats 100% utilization of resources
"There are no accidents"
-Master Oogway
If one learns from a mistake maybe it's no longer a mistake
So that way you can put em in a cargo car like a fool instead of piping it into a tanker car like a man!
Unless thy in question believes its a shorter path than the that thy haveith been shown is more efficient
At that point its a mistake in denial sounds like my autobiography honestly
Taking the longer route cuz "ooh pretty trees" only for a few moments later be like "are we there yet?"
Im free from the caver
Find anything useful?
I converted all my oil fields to packaged (diluted) fuel and it took hours and hours but now my game runs super slow with all the fully populated belts :(. so I mostly stopped playing. I was done but that made tweaking things much less fun
did you even have a use for all that fuel
Sir your treading very close to LGIO levels of shenanigans
Ide imagine "oh just the jetpack"
Ive finished my coal plant, 2250 MW compared to my weak base 600MW
MAM resource
Quick question, I cant slide, what is up with that
nvm
Since BWD is so "sink efficient" I'm considering not sinking other stuff to conserve power 🤔 that is until I can get more power
Maybe, if I make enough power storage I can AFK and let it charge overnight for ez-mode power vs. doing the work for actual production 🤔 😆
in the words of ADA, "ez-mode power is efficient power"
BWD? Umm Blue Western Digital?
What could be more efficient than storing all power and wasting none of it?
Oh those things
i wish i could use the extra ballistic warp drives i have as recoiless rockets
they are the right size
Or i dunno make a shuttle craft out of em so you can fly around the map? And can only be fueled by the nuclear fuels?
With ficsonium being the most effective of the 3
Hi, im new to the game and cant find an answer to this question.. i lock a hologram and try to rotate/tilt it with mousewheel but it just doesnt work.. aaahhh what am i missing?
Cant lock a hologram and rotate it
ok, but in videos they mirror this way
well if i recall correctly, the BWD's basically go super fast and then just warp stuff into FTL travel
No they actually flip it then lock it then nudge it into place
so i shoot a hog and its relative time is then zero i think
yes but i cant recreate that. i cant flip it when i lock it. how does this work?
Yep basically a warp core
Because you flip BEFORE you lock
ok, i can rotate left right, but how do i flip it?
if you have 1 click building enabled that can also mess with it btw
Rotate twice
ok ty will try that thank you
i really wish we could fully automate bio fuel, i love the idea of running the whole place off it.
just like, an algae tank that eats liquid biofuel and water to make biomass, enough that if you turn that back into liquid fuel you get more energy out of it
maybe be able to toss in any biological materials to boost producition, like edible plants and animal remains
what's the multiplier from a mk1 miner to a mk2
i wish generators had 2 cable connections, so i can just connect 8 coal generators to eachother and the last one gets connected to a power pole
wouldve made things look so much cleaner
each tier of miner produces twice as quickly and uses 3x as much power
slide hopping with the blade runners is so satisfying
it's actually so fun
AGREED
with the parachute combo?? omg
theres a parachute???!!!!
i first thought thats how it worked, how disappointed i was to find out i twasnt
oph im sorry for spoiling it
idc about spoilers, its a game about industrialization lmao
oh ye i got hella mycelia
if you MAM it, you can at some point make a gas mask and parachutes off of it
trust me you'll never go back
the parachute is fun, but ofc it will be abandoned to it's better predecesser
ziplines are pretty sick aswell
the parachute is used to scale walls that are 91 degree angles quickly
yeah it's so funny
anyone wanna play together?
Any smart people wanna help me solve a logistical problem I'm having? I just made a post in the questions and help forum.
i need help where do i put help
maybe the #1038092680493801533 channel?
just got advanced steel production
i am so scared for my life on the amount of dismanteling and fixing i have to do
dont.
wdym dont
at a certain point you have to abandon and build from scratch man
or it will only get worse
what?
no i meant that i need to fix my miners and belts
the factories themselves are working fine lol
i just wanna take advantage of the nodes nearby instead of making factories even further and further
once i get access to trains
i dont give a FUCK where i make my factories LMAO
but for now i wanna try to build everything as close as possible because the distance and running is making the game so annoying
ive put a help can anyone help me
and im not even on trains
Mk.2 belts 🤢 🤮
lol had enough plastic leftover from raiding crashsites that Im about to get liquid biofuel without needing to actually have any oil plants
i dont understand why are they so bad, like t 1 is alright and t 3 is much cheaper
AND better
literally
t3 being cheaper makes no sense to me
whoever uses m2 belts is either an actual noob, desperate, or flexing
It's almost like the Devs were like: "Hey guys... lets make the players suffer horrifically... and then alleviate that suffering with (rewards)"
they are unlocked later. so they're better. that's how game progression usually works
then why make t2 so much more expensive
are you producing more net steel beams than reinforced iron plates?
i've noticed something
yeah
both factories are running at 100% efficieny too
T1 T3 and T5 belts use only 1 resource per belt. T2 t4 and T6 use multiple.
are you not using your steel beams for stuff?
i am,
#screenshots message @lethal scroll how did you make your map show buildings ?
? mk6 are the only ones that use more than 1
who doesn't?
why won't you let me spread disinformation?
net
yes, net
i produce alot of steel beams but a lot get used
https://satisfactory-calculator.com/en/interactive-map, it's not actually ingame
only like 10% trickle into just storage
I produce not a lot of beams and all of them go into storage
well, until plutonium
no industrial beams?
encased pipe
Most of the alt recipes I prefer to use essentially make steel beams "obsolete", to a silly degree
i just wanna unlock cast iron screws 😔
Ye, das a good one
It's still in my library and forever will be
okay i found a perfect spot to make everything that i unlocked from advanced steal production in one area
and it's not too far off from my base
all i have to do is upgrade my coal miner to MK2 and add 8 more generators LMAO
I want all the alt recipes that do away with screws
I havent automated screws, and I don't want to either
literally the most annoying resource
i broke my brain trying to figure out a way to automate it (obviously used tutorials)
my current main factory is an amalgamation of 5hs of tutorials i watched
Cast Screws makes Copper Rotors SOOoo much nicer. I even made a "fancy" 4x constructor 1x assembler vertical stack blueprint since the ratios were so "tasty" #screenshots message
Hello guys, i started every time satisfactory again but yeah its not that nice for me anymore. but i didnt have other games to play. so what is an idea to do? which mods are good? mostly i get confused at the end game, how to make factories, every factory produce 1 thing? or more things at same time? how to build it?
the best part of this game is you can play it however you want
whats exactly not making it fun at the end game?
yes but that confuse me all time, idk if every factory should do one thing only or more, i hate the calculations. some times, a product to produce need soo much things before. it get me confused.
one thing at a time is fine
When you say "It's not that nice for me anymore", can you tell us more about that? Like is this a lack of enjoyment OR something else?
no, its only for me a confusing thing. so much to produce one sort of product. idk how to handle that overcomplicate in my head
This one part for phase 4 takes ages to make thats why multiple production to one individual item we need to make happen just like many making copper wire and cables then computers if not your waiting for ever just like me and this is a headache lol
i suggest using satisfactorytools
i cant send a screenshot of it, but i use it to visualize how the factories should "look" for the end products i wanna make
I agree that when you first play through the game, Reinforced Iron Plates seem "expensive." But I promise I'm not a noob, desperate, or flexing when I use mk2 belts. I'm using them because I've automated RIPs at reasonable rates and there's no reason not to, if I don't have mk3s unlocked.
OK, so it sounds like it's confusing and the complexity bogs it down for you and you are not sure what to do about that
i do but i cannot build every time all again or? so as example: i have a single plate production, then a other proudction need plates, so build again and put after it the rest? or grab plates from the other single production
grab the plates from the first production
well
okay so let's put it this way
both are valid (if you have the numbers) but building a separate production line is usually the recommended suggestion
need 100 plates/min for your new thing? build a lil thing to make those
if the end goal is reinforced iron plates, it's fine to make another factory also product the iron plates if you have one running
but if the end goal is smart plating, then you should probably just grab the plates from the first production and move it elsewhere
ofc remove the items i mentioned and replace them with whatever, but the idea is if there's a long process of prodcution to get to the item you need, you should probably just grab the resources RIGHT BEFORE the end product from somewhere else, to minimize the amount of space, and rebuilding you're doing
okay thx
Okie dokie, so this may be a sort of flow planning issue. Maybe check out Satisfactory Modeler on Steam. It takes a while to learn AND it's super helpful in my experience for such issues
there's a thing on steam for satisfactory planning??
oh it's just a steam version of satisfactorytools
Not really, two diffrent tools that both have good stuff
Nah, Modeller is a very different app. The two have very different use-cases. One's a solver/calculator, the other's a planner/modeller
ST also has a planner
Keep in mind that some of us recommend just doing your planning/experimentation inside the game itself. If you use Modeller then you've gotta learn how to use Modeller on top of how to lay things out "well" in the game itself. Why double your workload, etc. :)
satisfactorytools gives you the high-level chart of what a production plan could look like, but leaves all of the actual implementation details to the user. It doesn't try to tell you anything about belt speeds, miners, pipe speeds, where to split, how to arrange bunches of machines, etc.
i mean it gives you how much ore is going into how many production machines per min
the arrangement yeah ig that's fine, but thats where experimentation comes in
but it gives you enough to be able to build mini factories IMO, in case someone doesnt wanna learn Modeller
the plants producing poison, and the weird termite looking structures that also make poison, what ways can you destroy them? I've been chucking nobelisk at them so far, but are their other ways?
Explosive rebar 4 teh win
Right, because Modeller's a fundamentally different app; it lets you plan out how to arrange factories, taking into account specific machines and layouts and such. :)
i should research that
I mostly just bring it up 'cause some folks assume that Modeller is a "must-have" app but opinions on that vary. :)
(for that matter, sftools is also not a "must-have" app. :)
explosive rebar is your surgical approach, but there's nothing like using jetpack thrust to detonate a cluster bomb in low orbit to clear an area
can you even run modeller and the game at the same time?
i dont remember if steam has limitations on that
dismantle tool
fr mk3 and 4 are so much easier to make
You... your... a dismantle tool
mods !!!!!!!!!
spectacle screwdriver is a must-have for people that wear glasses
can build with SCIM
is satisfactory even a game anymore at that point?
no its a noosphere
factorio with more steps atp
it's a test runner
playing Satisfactory on 2d map ah
I have screwless glasses it seems 🤷
how is rifle damage wise vs rebar gun?
might be burried under caps
once i get bored of this game, im getting cracktorio just to go over all the highs and lows all over again
bigger
you never get bored
can 15 supercomputers/m be considered a lot?
trust me
i genuinely hope so
the ficsit™ pioneer helmet comes with included corrective lenses, for those pioneers who spent less time in their synthetic womb
I play 100 hours in a month, burnout, 3 months no Satisfactory, 100 hours in a month, repeat
:tm:
i think the only time ill get burnt out is when i start trying to make things look nice
After finishing my massive rocket fuel power plant like 3 months ago I stopped playing and now I'm back doing my massive aluminium factory and CO
what makes you think FICSIT would waste healthcare on eyeball-having disposable drones Pioneers? just wire a camera directly to the vision center of the brain.
Sup yall
what do you consider massive?
eyeballs can't pop due to extreme g-forces if you have no eyeballs
uses all bauxite in the world
Well I don't have mk6 belts yet but once I do it will
oh, that will take a while
I had so much suffering with just 1200 bauxite 😭
Unacceptable: must also convert all the map's Caterium to Bauxite
dont you also need a lot of oil for that? for the alt recipe
I'll need a bazillion caterium for plastic ai limiter
no joke like 5k quickwire or sum
🤓
caterium is somewhat rare, no?
eh
there less of it than other resources at least
I'm a west coaster so I have like 3 pure nodes within 1 km
It's 2nd rarest I think?
🤓
No it's definitely not
it is
Uranium -> SAM -> Sulfur -> Nitrogen -> Bauxite -> Crude Oil -> Quartz -> Caterium
there's 12600 /min of crude oil and 12000 /min of nitrogen in the map
and caterium has more with 15000 /min
That....doesn't determine rarity
Rarity and throughput are two completely different concepts
When someone talks rarity they mean the number of nodes
every biome in the map has caterium
not every biome has oil
not every biome has nitrogen
There's still more oil nodes
I agree that you could think of it that way, but IMO throughput is a much better indicator of rarity
There's exactly that much of the resource available on the map, compared to other resources
That's what'll be your limitation when building megaproject-type things
Throughput and rarity are separate in my mind because think of it this way
Ask yourself the question "how painful is it to find another one and how quickly will my current nodes deplete?
As someone who habitually expands all over the map, going to find new nodes is not daunting to me. :)
It's easier to find anything when you get the object scanner
Anyway, I see where you're coming from, but total available throughput is definitely the "de facto" measurement of resource rarity 'round here. :)
if you spawn in grassy fields for example there is a caterium node next door and crude oil and nitrogen are a km away
That's because it's grassy fields
If you go to any of the others spawns those become much easier
Where nodes are doesn't matter, if you're willing to go out and get them. :)
rocky desert has caterium node closer too. Desert dunes as well
finally finished the versatile frameworks for the 2nd phase
only exception is northen forest but they are all close
grassy fields is a horrible example tbh, it's a good start but resource wise it's......on the meh side, trades convenience for purity and quantity
the only finite resource is time, and the best consumption of time is through blueprints
btw are all the starting areas part of the map?
yes
Rocky Desert, Grassy Fields, Dunes and.... Whatever the other one is I forgot
northern forest
Ah yeah that one
the best one imo
nah I'm rocky desert team all the way
Dunes supremacy
My sheer amount of resource nodes says otherwise
I'd argue rocky desert is just as rich
how clustered is too clustered for conveyers/piplines i am new to the game
I will....disagree
I mean yeah desert dunes has more iron and copper
Oh that's right I can't post images here
but I still prefer rocky desert starting wise
at the end of the game I'll just use them both so no reason to argue that
i build iron modules in dunes because i feel like i can waste more space there compared to other biomes with more resources
I am curious what the order in terms of number of nodes is
Actually.....funny....there's more Sam nodes than caterium
The nice thing about Northern Forest is there are two start locations AND almost everything is relatively close AND ample pure nodes. If you have issues with building vertically though, this may be a rough start for "you"
19 SAM nodes Vs 17 caterium nodes
That's a very "personal preference" type question. Folks will have varying levels of acceptance for busyness / spaghetti. :)
yeah but half is impure while caterium is 50/50 pure or normal
caterium has a whole 5k more output globally
In re: your post in screenshots, you can try hooking things up via a "manifold" setup instead; that's an easy way to make things look cleaner (though there's still some practice to be done)
!wikisearch manifold
Manifold refers to a fill method where Conveyor Splitters or Conveyor Mergers are aligned in a series (that is, one after another), usually parallel to the arrangement of buildings. The setup is compact and can be expanded easily.
Manifolds work because full machines consume only what they need. Once...
More sulphur and bauxite nodes than caterium
^ eg, that kind of arrangement. Feeder pipes go "along" the machines, and you have one junction per machine
Oh wait no, sulphur has 1 more extra
(the inlined images there are assuming belts, but you can do similar things with pipes)
my base is so far away to get any more rotors and stuff
Quartz is 16
Honestly in the early game don't sweat aesthetics too much. You'll get better with time, and it'll be easier to do so once you do have coal power up
no like it's around 1k meters away
Can always redo some stuff later if it bothers you. :)
I bet Limestone is #1
46 crude oil
Yeah agree on the verticality, this is one of those areas where the game pushes you to taking off the training wheels and play Satisfactory instead of Factorio in 3D
and i'd have to walk on foot all the way back
It's not, iron is
Limestone is second though it seems
45 nitrogen gas nodes tho
Yo do you gotta pay for dedicated servers?
Caterium seems to be 4th beaten by sulphur, quartz and uranium in terms of node count
Not if you use your own
Technically I was right in saying 4th 🤓
There are third parties you can pay to run dedicated servers for you, but as Vencam implied, you can just run the dedicated server software yourself so long as you have a home for it and the willingness to do whatever networking tweaks you need, to open up ports and such
i think i did the manifold thing right
looks a bit cleaner
my main base is way worse than this was prior
If you do run into fluid problems, remember that you can open a #1038092680493801533 thread and inline images in there. Debugging liquid/pipe problems is always a million times easier with screenshots, and a thread over there is nearly always the easiest place for that
Heh, everyone's first factories (in general) are a mess. :D
has anyone ever had a bug where the fruit trees and berry trees did not generate? I have saves with dozens of hours, but on this new save there is just 0 spawns in the northern forest
I still remember looking at mine and thinking that I really wasn't trying to emulate LGIO, it was just turning out that way anyway
like mine looks like those paintings with the mind bending staircases
and it's very slow
Except for mine, of course!
||Disclaimer: this is a lie||
Heh, so it goes. :)
like one rotor takes like 1-2 minutes
Honestly not at all uncommon. You'll get better!
If it uses sushi it is the best damn factory out there
If you do find yourself struggling with being overwhelmed by stuff, I would kind of recommend checking out https://satisfactory.wiki.gg/wiki/Tutorial:Independency, but so long as you're still having fun, you're doing it right. :)
i never played base or factory building games for that very reason
Why use manifolds or load balancers when you can just stick everything onto the same belt
it's always like a tangled pile
the map is huge and you can always build a new factory, you should feel good about making a spaghetti factory to get you to the next level
... that you can then manifold or load-balance
Yeah, making "clean" factories really is just practice practice practice
Few people are gonna get it right from the start
Why do that though
(That's another reason I like "Independency" -- gives you many opportunities to start from scratch, if you're just constantly making smaller factories instead of endlessly trying to expand your existing ones)
Also foundations. That's the foundation of it all
Are you telling me you aren't a true sushi belt believer that runs everything into a sushi belt and uses 100000 programmable splitters to split it into their machines?
you can spend way too much time trying to get it right, but if you just need 100 items or so it's rarely worth the time trying to perfect it
Well, yeah, but a manifold (or a balancer) can be fed sushi too (if it uses smart splitters) ^^
Aka sushifolds or smart manifolds or sushi-balancers
but it's likely on top of the cliff
is there a way to like get disks easier or do i just run around and find them
is there any way for 5 constructors making 40 screws per minute to get into 2 assemblers with only having mk2 belts?
suprised i haven't seen any spiders yet
there's spiders in this game?
yes, its 200/2, split the middle one into two mergers and merge with two others than place into inserter
i can draw it and dm it to you if you want
i'd love that
Only kittens~
And puppies
For those who use arachnophobia mode, reminder that Ada told you to save the kittens and puppies, not kill the kittens
You can unlock Hard Drive scanning in MAM which will help you find ones that are kind of nearby, and Radar Towers can tell you how many hard drives are in an area in the map.
If you want to cheat though, you can upload your save to SCIM and it will show you exactly where to find the remaining hard drives. https://satisfactory-calculator.com/en/interactive-map
Me using intense triangulation technique with my radar towers to find that one remaining blue power slug left on my map
I'd essentially recommend what Clood said -- have dedicated screw-producing machines right in front of the assemblers. Basically don't even try to combine all the screw outputs
this is the way
(it was the one that's unobtainable)
Personally I'd actually have 3x Constructors per Assembler, and underclock one to 50%. But Clood's idea of splitting the output of the "middle" one works too, of course. :)
should i perhaps do 6 instead and underclock 2 of them to 20 instead of 40?
yeah
are there still wrecks that require quantum computer?
Either/or, honestly. In that particular situation having the "middle" one get split might actually be a little more aesthetically pleasing. :)
But the real key with screws is really just "make them right in front of the machine that needs 'em"
*Supercomputers(?)
Ewww, Fandom
Super quantum computers
That's the official wiki
There are not, no -- the item was removed entirely in 1.0
Fandom is not the official wiki, no matter what they claim. wiki.gg is (that's what the game's own wiki link will send you to, etc)
Yeah that's what the link is tho
i changed it when i realized i linked the wrong one
(Fandom used to be the official wiki, long ago, but once they got thoroughly enshittified the wiki was moved over)
Oh you changed it lol
No, CSS links to wiki.gg whenever they link to the wiki. (If you have an example of an invalid link, that'd be worth a post on their Questions site) Edit: Oh, I see, you were referring to the original link which the bots removed. Nevermind, sorry!
yeah almost immediately but not fast enough to get the reactions
Ew fandom
Still better than a hatersub, though
who doesn't like to watch 3 ads and videos while they look up a recipe
"Use this ancient Chinese trick to remove screws from your production lines"
I removed it manually unless you're calling me a bot which is fair
Heh, you presumably got to it just before a bot did, then. :D The resident bot only allows certain domains. Got those lightning fingers!
"Doctors hate this medicinal inhaler recipe!"
"Extend your BuildGun by >6.9 cm TODAY!"
"Local construction-hungry pioneers are in your area!"
if you build x repeatedly and often enough that taking the time out of your routine to make a blueprint would take less time than building x repeatedly, make blueprint
i tried to make a blueprint for refineries
more pain than gain
pipes and belts didnt want to connect
yes i did use autoconnect
refineries are harder to build blueprints around than other buildings but its definitely worth the time to figure it out compared to building everything manually
at least blueprints for arrays of refineries when you can use 4 in a row
im building a 225gw fuel powerplant sooo
now just farming drives for the fuel recipe
Honestly even before pipe/belt autoconnect, the blueprint system was very nice for refineries
Yo ucould at least get a nice chunk of 3 refineries in a blueprint, and then just hook up each chunk of 3
You often need to leave a tiny piece of belt before/after belt supports, that's what autoconnect connects belts to/from (other than splitters' and mergers' inputs and outputs)
ngl i fight with autoconnect and don't even bother with it for refineries
As for fuel gens, if you're willing to deal with some real tight pipework, you can fit 4x fuel gens in a single 5x5 blueprint, which is nice
i just removed the suports soo it kinda wrks
Personally I tend to stick to just 2 per blueprint so I can have more piping room for 'em, but even just that is a blessing for larger fuel-gen buildouts
that i might blueprint
But yeah, dunno. Refinery blueprints save me a ton of work, generally, even without autoconnects
(I still haven't actually taken the time to play in v1.1; all my build time's been 1.0 and earlier)
i struggle with autoconnect most of the time
i jsut dont like the blueprint system comared to factorio
you need a well designed BP for it to work well. and even then it's still not perfect
Like many aspects of comparison between the two games, they are definitely very different systems. If you go into Satisfactory hoping it'll work like Factorio (or the other way around), you're likely to be disappointed. :)
Omg, someone dropped the F word
Fromage? Where?
Farfignewton?
ive enjoyed factorio a lot (1k hrs) and since a week i have hit like 60h in satisfactory and i really enjoy it. the only issue is lack of something like alt mode (just started color coding) and the bluerints
i trust that, but it feels bad to use precious space in my 5x5 grid just for autoconnect. that means i can only use 3 refineries in a BP vs 4
I fit 4 in it just fine
unrelated to chaos talk: currently done with nuclear pasta, biochem done
That's what she said
2 to go
is that using refineries 2x2 instead of 4x1?
I shove all input items into a single manufacturer hole 🥵
I don't think they even fit 2x2.
So yeah, I did a row of 4
Hello, I just put 144 fuel generators. Each one gives 250 MW of power, why I don't have 36000 MW then? (144*250=36000)
Do they all have fuel?
They all have green light so I think yes
Overclocked?
How much power exactly are you making?
Worth it to save the bother of placing so many
wait a sec I havet to check on thing
well i would need the slugs
What tier are you at
starting t7
250MW is the output of Fuel Generators at 100% (thus with a green light rather than white)
U OK with spoilers?
yeah ive watched a lot of gameplays from kibitz so i know whats going on in the future
Aha fair. If you've got the patience you'll be able to automate shard production in t9, without slugs
It's a bit of a shame that we can automate the shards instead of the slugs :/
imo automating slugs should be a earlier version where you breed them and they give a random tier every 2-3 minutes
Slug -> Slug Juice -> Combine with HOR -> Process -> 2x Slug
Diluted Slugs!
I was just thinking it'd be nice to have a choice between making more shardz or having more shiny and colorful paperweights
slug -> slug essence + SAM -> 1.1x slug
yeahh
This made me chuckle
So Slug Juice + HOR in a Blender, maybe use an accelerator to combine the Diluted Slug Juice with SAM for the end result
Shame the Converter doesn't have a pipe input; that would've been ideal
10x slug - > 11x slug would be more in line with game logic (no fraction of items)
nvm, wires wasn't connected
everything is all right
lol, that happens sometimes
Should also be done in a dedicated machines, to have a chance for some funny naming
- The Slugger
- Slime-maker
- Goo-eater
SBF - Slug breeding facility
Leave a purple slug and a lizard doggo in an enclosed area and every 10 minutes or so, a blue slug will spawn
Dilute it in water and drink it
Boosts energy for 20 minutes and then has a nausea effect for an hour
hey guys ive quit the game and now im lost in my world i dont know wtf i was doing and my factorys do numbers i dont quite comprehend i dont have any info on in and output and so on, how do i get back in ?
is 15k megawatts enough to complete phase 3, make a large factory and set up a train system?
ive also set up a big train system and huge 8story bus for materials but i have no idea why
just copy some oil refinery blueprint and you will have more than enough
Probably?
If you automated computers, hmf and oil in a good scale I highly doubt tho
🤓
I'm him
max consum is what the max power of all the stuff connected is right
ye nvm
max cons is 155 and its making 75 im cooked
You are fine so long as you don't activate everything at once
I have jawline
ya thats the plan though, im clearing out more space rn to probably make like 2 more coal gens
Hm
Tricky situation, you might need to jump start those coal gens or isolate your generation temporarily
ya what ima do is use the first gen i got rn to support the other 2 that are supporting the actual factory stuff'
What you could do is separate the generation from the factory stuff temporarily and isolate the coal gens miners and water extractors into an islanded grid
And then when all of them are back on, connect back to main factory
ye
Thankfully in this sci fi world you don't have to deal with people complaining about losing money when you take outages :D
fr
theres like a really big rock ontop of one of the coal nodes, is that just something i cant get ridof without a special tool
You need a nobelisk for it
is it a good idea to have like "emergency generators" with some biofuel in them so coal production for the powerplants can keep going in case of power going out?
When you have priority power switches maybe
But when you unlock power storage they become kinda obsolete
Because the batteries end up becoming peak shavers and fluctuation averagers, which is what biomass would do but on a smaller scale
The only application for biomass beyond power storage imo is for jump starting such like fuel generators
alright, thank you!
Np
Need help with Milesstone achievement. in multiplayer my friend unlocked miles stone while I was offline and i didnt get it, is there a way to get the achievemnt?
"Wowie I just unlocked nuclear energy I wonder what goes into powering—
"
My brain shuts down around then
Chriiiiiiiiist and I thought the aluminum stuff was complicated, I think I’m just going to find a different biome to set up the plant in
Any recommendations
Swamp biome it sucks to begin with, and nobody goes there
You could also just build out in the void
I actually really like that place ngl
It’s where my sulphur and quartz mines are
So
I'm doing it on the west coast on the water
Big ass facility
Preparing the blueprints rn
Nice nice
My west coast is an oil plant rn but there’s probably more resources to plunder and drone over
Im doing my oil plant on north
Hey guys quick question, packaged water is it from regular water or do Ineed to find a node?
or well ?
Because I need the oil in the west for petroleum coke for all the aluminium
hey hey hey
Regular water
OMG
what's your opinion on solid steel ingots
There are water nodes too btw
You can pump water out of the ground with pressure wells
But what comes out is normal water not packaged
You have to package the water in the packager with the respective container
Game changer
More resource efficient
Can I get packaged water from regular water?`:P
Yeah just package it
It seems more resource efficient when combined with pure iron ingots
NIIIIICE
I have made a reinforced plate farm, rotor farm, modular plate farm, smart plating farm, and a steel farm with these pure iron nodes I found is there anything I’m missing for phase 3?
Tbf the map has so much iron that it's whatever
I didn't use the pure recipe
Yeah but lazy
Refineries are too big and water is annoying
Seeking it out and carting it back to base
It's not too bad
I was aiming for space efficiency too this build so eh
It took me forever to decorate this shit
It's a huge ass building made from pillars on like half the rocky desert coast
I have a giant unlimited void space as long as I can made it neat I care little about space
how come only after 3 splitters does the coal only come out one by one while the previous 3 are full
yo, I just spent way too much time overdesigning a power pole blueprint, it's in screenshots, what do you think?
I was working with the detonator and suddenly my hand tools vanished. I push H but no hand tools. Whatever I did its never resolve that issue Reinstalling the game after deleted ALL files including the savegames. Playaing with or without mods its the same issue again and again. I try everything but its the same issue each time. I dont what to do now and my game still unplayable because I have no hand tools.
do dimensional depot have a set range or are they limited?
i worded that wrong
do they have a set range or are they usable from anywhere
Usable from anywhere as long as you’re not dead
is there something more useful i should save my mercer spheres for
nope
do u guys implement dimensional depots in your factories?
? they're just storage. No real 'implmentation'.
I don't really like them personally but I'm in the minority
@true mulch hey not sure what the go is but the bot doesn't give the preview images for wiki searches anymore
which is very useful for the coal gens thing xD or just getting people's attention
Quick question before I plan too much. Are there actual roads for the trucks?
you can make them? but trucks shine when you plan around them. Make factories and logistic lines around the natural roads
making tons of infrastructure just ot use trucks? might as well just use trains at that point
Okay good to know. I just unlocked them lol
no stress 🙂 they just take planning and forthough.
a lot of people like trains I think because they'll often just build above all the terrain and have to think less
which is a preference I suppose
It’s useful for your overflow to fill into. So you can build more stuff with the materials anywhere.
Whatever doesn’t fit in there you can just send it to the sink
Do you guys know if there are any layouts out there?
For instance completing phase 3 if there some kind of layout
For the factories I mean
there's no universal layout because everyone is going to output different final amounts and use different recipes
make a plan with tools and it'll spit out somethiung that could be a layout https://www.satisfactorytools.com/1.0/production
make a plan, it'll spit something similar to what you need out
Lemme try that ty 😄
turn off the converter machine, or SAM ore, or the conversion recipes though
otherwise it'll try to use those recipes
I see 😉 Just did 😄
That was very nice thank you!!!!! Makes it 10 timer easier
remember, these are basically just the raw numbers you need. You'll likely need to further break up the groups of machines to make the factories and systems more convenient for you
I just want to compelte phase 3 LMAO
Or try to start atleast.
This game thinks im freaking einstein or something 😛
BTW is tehre anything that let me decide how much of anything goes on that belt ? Not direction but more so flow if you know what I mean
For instance I want 200 out of 360 ores to go left side or something
make two groups of machines.
1 group that makes 200 and another that makes 360
Okey so no splitter or something I see
well if you had a belt that could do 560 you could just rely on the manifold to over flow and self balance
but in general, imo, it's much easier breaking down the groups into smaller groups (very often)
Sorry for being a hassle but for instance, on the tools, 372 iron ore /min and it want 241 going on one side and 130 on the other side, thats why I was wondering
oh that's fine, you can just manifold it
What does that mean 😛 ?
as long as it's not going to a sink or storage it'll self balance
a belt that feeds machiens and relies on overflow, like this https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/1407002332239237210/1407004901015294013/image.png?ex=68ea666d&is=68e914ed&hm=e72774ae76ac6ccb8cf53dc1bc88c74b066509e58fef1a30b481da062ccf4db5&=&format=webp&quality=lossless&width=1232&height=1033
as long as
- the belt is fast enough
- you have at least enough parts per min for hte system
a manifold will self balance
for something like ore, that you can't really break up the miners with, it's a good method
and what you do after that is group SOME of the smelters together to send ingots to different places
Makes sense now that you explianed it
almost everyone will use manifolds w/o realising they are
Heyyy y'all ❤️
Yeah 😉 Hey Bigspeck
I think ima stay phase 3 for some time, def not ready for this build up
you'll get there easily dw
Yeah it will take time;) Thats the beauty of this damn game
There can be some advantages to "turtling" in various stages of the game, don't let ADA pressure you to do what "the man" wants 😆
Yeah I think phase 3 deff is a big wall for me right now 🙂 and ngl I quite enjoy the game roaming collecting etc etc...
I'm finally working on stage 5 🙂
No need to brag LMAO:P
Holy shiat that must be something 😛
brag? I've got more hours than I should
as in I have crossed the 5th digit...
WHAT DO YOU MEAN 5TH DIGIT ?
in hours
You calc seconds lmao :P?
50ish hours ..... and you pass 5th digit 😛
How long has it taken 😛 ?
no... 5th digit... as in a one with 4 zeros
this specific run I'm at 928 hours
Niiiiice 😉
well I did cross phase 3 with everything manually...
but that disconnects the space elevator pieces
and started with the alien power source
Huuh?
you can't manually make the space elevator parts... but you can do almost everything before that step
Havent gotten there yet 😛
considering you said phase 3, you have
I am just waiting for the biochemical sculptors to finish atm
space elevator parts cant find when I search in index but 😛 ...
I'm not a "hoarder" IRL and in this game there does not seem to be any disadvantage to having a box system store stuff, so I figured why not? 🤷 It's nutty to hear some folks plan is to "block out the sun" with storage containers in order to store their nuclear waste vs. make a system that processes it 😆. Part of me thinks that's kind of clever
The amount of oil on the map makes me wonder why do a massive nuclear build at all, maybe "eventually" one runs out of nitro or sulfur for power gens maybe?
smart plating
AH yeah that I recognize;)
It's quite easy to make far more power than you'll ever need with either Rocket Fuel or Nuclear, for sure
Both of those easily pass into the scales of "I'm doing a megaproject just because I want to"
Yea, it does seem like power "can be" somewhat trivial and can be very daunting "your choice"
I like that the Nitro Rocket Fuel recipe makes the build dead simple and I'm starting to consider that I'll "eventually" run out of sulfur "abusing" the ez-mode way 🤔
OH dang, there is 10800 Sulfur on the map? Nevermind
That makes the next "plan" easy 🤔
Yeah, you really have to work hard to exhaust resources on the map
The only thing that's slightly more likely to run out is SAM since the things that need SAM need a lot of it. (Ficsonium processing in particular eats a lot)
Though if you sloop the RSAM steps for that, you've still got a huge amount of headroom
my current issue is making an expandable transport system to get resources where i can build a factory
i havent setup any roads or trains yet and need to make a factory for computers and other things in the desert and setting up my aluminum production
Because it's fun and cool and it gives you more power than most people can actually use even with megabuilds
But generally a turbofuel plant should be enough if you don't build too huge
I have yet to use a lot of SAM 🤷 I don't usually play "sandbox mode" much and it's something I'm looking into doing a bit more of this playthrough. Ficsonium processing seems to not be a thing I would be "into" so I'm not really sure where to "go" from here. I just made an insane amount of diamonds and will probably sink the time crystals till I find some use for them later
Ficsonium is quite niche, for sure. It's definitely not worth it for a lot of people
I mean if you're gonna make the massive uranium+plutonium build, you might as well go for full and do ficsonium
It really depends on how much you want to burn Plutonium rods, and how much you care about "clean" nuclear
If you've got any wiggle room at all on either of those requirements, Ficsonium's a hard sell
Its energy efficiency is pretty awful; you spend about 66% of the energy you get out of the Ficsonium step just making the Ficsonium in the first place. And it's really SAM-heavy. The biggest Uranium+Plutonium builds literally can't go full Ficsonium because there's not enough SAM on the map for it
Even with sloops?
Yeah
Whoa
Without slooping RSAM I think you're okay until about 1TW or so of nuclear power (in total); slooping the RSAM would push that out to maybe 2TW
Reminds me to sketch out my nuke build so I can catch this :V
(That's assuming that you're reserving at least some SAM for the other production things which need it)
And as Ficsonium haters will tell you, it's trivial to make more power than you'll ever need with just Uranium. So it's, y'know, sometimes a hard sell.
I was thinking of a more pedestrian 500gw and then it becomes a bit excessive
Really comes down to the confluence of those two requirements: 1. Burn Plutonium, plus 2. Clean Nuclear
Heh, yeah, U+Pu+Fi will be just fine for just 500GW target; that's about what I did on my 1.0 save
Yeah, at about 500GW gross nuclear (U+Pu+Fi), I was using about 60% of the map's SAM (which includes all the other non-nuclear uses I was putting it to; I'd estimate the nuclear component was maybe 40%)
Slooping RSAM would give you a lot more, of course.
I'm probably not gonna choose the alts that are the most uranium-efficient, because I do want to use all of the U on the map as a game goal
Sorry quick question, when I try to remove something, it says dismante mode:Blueprint and I Cant remove anythingh ?
Hit R to change build (well, dismantle) modes
In the blueprint-dismantle mode you can only target placed blueprints
DAMN TYYYYY
But yeah I have a date with the satisfactory planner tomorrow
hottt
Very 😏
Any realise date for satisfactory on ps5?
November 4: #announcements message
Thannnyou!!!
Question for the 1k+ hour folk out there; is it a "bad plan" to rely on MK.6 at 1,200 throughput for a "big" fuel gen build? The thought is if lag happens and the system eventually falls behind and needs a "re-prime" restart thing every so often 🤔. Maybe I'm overthinking this
ugh i struggle with long distance truck routes
For stuff I'd personally consider "long distance," I agree; it gets difficult to get routes down and such
IMO they're quite good up to midrange, but I don't tend to push 'em much further than that
im trying to plan a route from the tide pools in the south east to the grass fields where I have my main base.
I have a biofuel plant that I need plastic for and I dont want to have to go all the way out there just to empty the DD of leaves and wood
HOLY CRAP I FINALLY SET UP MY VERY FIRST TRUCK ROUTE! I'M SO PROUD LOL
TIL: Pipe junctions snap to many surfaces and are very handy to place BEFORE you lay your pipe 🤔
Mah pipes "were" so ugly before and I didn't know how to fix them 😭
make the pipe junctions the meatballs in your spaghett
does that make foundations the plate
best spaghett is plateless 😛
alternatively, biggest plate is map
brother, how are you eating spaghetti
All this talk about 🍝 reminded me how hungry I am 🤔
OK now I feel much better about mah pipes
Is it me OR do vertical pipe snap points not align with horizontal ones?
Whelp, thats a bummer
?
For example, If i snap a junction to a horizontal surface AND then one to a vertical surface AND then I nudge one over to the other... the join points do not perfectly align 🤷 It's close AND not perfect
But perfection is satisfaction
How far would you consider 'mid range'
TIL: I can not reliably "get" 1200 from MK.6 in my situation, probably cuz 🥔 hardware 🤷. Thats fine they give us all sorts of tools to handle that
Powah upgrade is....
Com-plete
We up to 115 MW it seems, most power I've ever had in a run 🤔
Do you recommend using blueprints for aluminum refinement? I'm considering using it to build many small aluminum ingot factories, as its more expandable than building a single large factory.
Personal preference really 🤷
Does anyone have an aesthetically-pleasing method of stacking refineries that isn't a leaning tower of offsets for smokestacks?
power tower, 40m+ tall floors so that smoke isn't clipping
yeah, that's the fallback option is just going as high as the blueprinter can go and straight up
If only we had mirrored machines I'd have more options
oh boi, time to get a grip and tackle my factory problems, roads and manufacturer setups need to be done, so much stuff, then ofc rails too
Impossible to know what is subjectively pleasing to you 🤷. It seems like there are not many options with the size and strange shape of fuel gens 🤔 probably why there are "glitch" blueprints to address that
if only we could mirror while building 🙁
or it the refinery input/output ports were far enough apart that you could put refineries "ass-to-ass" and offset by half and have things still line up
unless there's a trick to clipping machines by force?
donno, but ehh you can build some pretty interesting setups since the pipe and conveyor inputs dont align
i still need to practise building vertically utilizing more floors, still on my first world after 80 or so hpurs
looking forward to building roofs and smokestack slots on my coal plants
"interesting things can be built [voluntary]" or "interesting things _must_be built [punitive]"?
gahh stupid blueprint autoconnect requiring stub belts and pipes and then not merging them into a single belt or pipe drive me nuts
1 meter long pipe segment? surely will not cause any problems.
Power towers should be wide-area hoverpack operation zones. :I
Is that a thing where "short" pipes cause issues?
purely speculative, but something I entirely expect
I KNOW I've got some super short pipes in place and they seem to work 🤷
For some silly reason I try to min max water extractor locations 😆 AND sometimes that means holding CTRL to snap two extractors outputs super close and joining them with a pipe. Then I put a junction between them and sometimes it's super "tight fit" so to say. Junction sometimes clips into the output, I bet THOSE pipes are very short and they work 🤷
i have found that alignin pipes diagonally has some issues with the supports, need to delete em and connect the pipe again for some of it to work, but i mean you can make some non symmetrical stuff, which i do enjoy sometimes
I wouldn't mind the leaning tower so much if it were in isolation, but I'm planning to build some "ordinary vertical stuff next to it
wanna hop into a vc while playing? i can show you my coal plant
thanks, but I've already resigned to 5x5x5 cube blueprint and started the build
alright, enjoy the process
[slouching, disshevelled, dead-eyed, figurative cigarette idly burning in my mouth] "I have to move this whole fuckin thing to the other side of the railroad to have enough water" my process
table_flip.gif
hahhah, well for me i dont have any transport infrastructure so i need to set all that up, and a fuel power plant, and aluminu, and redo steel and coputer production on a proper base. so i have my work cut out for me aswell
the belting, oh the belting
lol I just demolished the entirety of my oil production because it was so bad, trying to build back. I built an entire Uranium Fuel chain and power plant infrastructure so that I could afford to turn of the fuel gens.
I am in a hell of my own making, praying that I don't accidentally waste all the plastic and rubber in my dimensional depot
i worked of my starter base until now, i have phase 4 and the milestones to do. the old base while efficient is not suited for all this higher tier stuff
this is why you have plastic and rubber going into a dimensional depo form a factory
i got my plates, rods and a few other necessities setup in a way where my original base supplies my dimensional depo with some of the earlier tiers of stuff like modulars, rotors, stators, motors and such, including some steel products
but it cannot make compurters or anything over those with enough efficiency, sadly
I try not to think of the dead-end production at the starter base <_<;
going whole-hog on "just ship raw materials and manufacture everything on-site".
hahah, thankfully i been doing enough exploration that i had enough mercers to get 3 stacks and a good rate of upload in addition to like 10 dimensional depos
guys
yes?
ok, but everyone seems to hate what I do so...
hmm? what do you mena
slime?
and @prime rampart there is a good amount of space if ou want to setup walkways
but im no expert in building factories though
lol
I always build things out along the same axis so that if you want to add more you can always bolt onto the end of the line. when you build things perpendicular they'll eventually collide
and its good to think vertically as well, incase you want to expand upwards and use the horizontal space for something else
also yes
yea ill make it nice after i expand it
i have 3blenders that make more then needed so thats why i wanna expand
but idk how ill have 13 refineries set up
more pipes
but fluids suck going upwards
ive already wasteed 3hours bringing pipes here
the water is like at the end of the map
and im in the middle of dune desert
I'm planning out the contingency of using all 2700 oil at the northwestern field and one HOR line can be 15 refineries long, so I'm planning to build 6 stories of 15 machines
No. Keep pipes simple, you've got a ton of pointles merges and splits
because a line 90 machines long is a no thanks
if this is what you were trying to do no wonder you wasted 3hrs
no no
tell us what you really think
transferring pipes
for fun
do you care if it works or not?
no need for junctions?
OFC I DO
I think they're referring to your web of manifold
then don't have random interconnections
I was.
pinged you in the other channel
yeeee my uranium rods finally backed up into the grinder
and the air around the waste dump tastes like TV static
Thats phase 4 complete finally
imagine if the animals grew extra legs or heads in an irradiated area lol
chat #screenshots message im halfway down with the gens and have the logistics done for the power plant i think it looks quite nice
im so glad i did oc them even placing this many feels like it takes forever
yes, that's why nuclear
need power too get me too nuclear
I am begging everyone to right-click the message that they want people to look at and select "Copy Message Link" and paste that instead of just pointing at an arbitrary channel and hoping that we all know which post to look at. eg: #screenshots message
happy?
never
why
[looks at the slime post again]
cant never be happy
idk maybe im a simple guy i hear fire song im happy
music is just so peak
still wish soundtrack was louder
do you has teh boom box?
you can also just turn everything but the music down and your speakers up
I just wish it was risk of rain 2 levels loud cuz it's that good
Ye never grab it tho lol I should tbh
Wanna find the tape from deep rock too
is this 2:1 ratio for aluminum better then the normal one?
for hte ingots? up to you. Is it worth it to bring in more silica to make more ingots
i dont use silica but i already like made the factory but if ur saying making it bigger yea ofc
are you talking about hte 2 ingot recipes? the one that uses silica vs the one that doesnt?
base ingot vs pure ingot?
Layer 1 mostly constructed: #screenshots message
I hope I'm not stupid enough to run into the train station behind it
is the water tower mechanic still im the game?
where you can have a blocked of pipe give an other pipe a lot of elevation
I am setting some iron ingots production recently. What are your thoughts on basic iron ingots?
It got the best iron ore to iron ingots ratio and limestone doesn't seem to be a really rare ressource at the moment.
I am at the last phase and I realised I needed to upscale my iron and steel production (and I need iron ingots anyway in order to be able to use the best steel recipe). I tried a few different one already but I am not sure which one I will use for this. For now I am thinking basic ingots.
for the love of god can someone explain how the FICSIT do train signals work
I have one big loop, with a station attached at each end. If I want multiple trains to run on the track do I need to space out PATH signals all along the rail?
I only have blocks at the stations
Block signals are just separators, so you can use them to make 'blocks', a train won't enter a block if there's already a train in that block. Stops them from crashing.
Path signals are optional, you can use them as the entry markers to junctions, they allow multiple trains to enter the same block if their paths aren't going to cross
Awww, this place had a HD and a sloop on the same spot 🤔
sure? but you get teh same effect by just having a pump
So if my track very long, like half the map, and I want multiple trains running on it, like 8, do I need to block off sections every few 100m? If a train tries to leave a station, but the next block is 20km long and the train in front of it is still on that block then it will wait till the block is clear?
Oh i wish you could send photos here
At what point should i just abandon/destroy/remake the factory ive sent on screenshots?
I rate leave it be, when you get blueprint designer then make a nice factory and plop it down somewhere else
let the old factories keep chugging along lots of nodes to expand on and rebuild
i mean its pretty efficient since ive made it using calculators
had to overclock 2 machines even tho im still in phase 2
i wish i could like have a better spot but im intimidated by the map
Soon you will be all over the map, it's yours to conquer
i cant find a good flat spot with enough nodes
and i dont have the nerves to trouble shoot 500 meterlong conveyor highways
in those stages you can use trucks to move stuff, dont be afraid to just build a big platform of foundations and terraform how you want to
If you research nobelisks you can blow them up
ok
good luck!
btw the blue circle is spawn location and red one is where ive beenhttps://imgur.com/a/Iq7cm0g
one more question should i have lots of factories for each of the things or just for the final products?
like one for the smart plates and one normal plates or just for smart plates?
Someone else can chime in here, but as far as I know space elevator parts are only used for other space elevator parts, so if you really want to you can separate those from normal parts factories
really? theyr only for space elevator?
Im pretty sure yeah
i mean it seems like it, they each have only one use
YEs
so is it better to just overclock a fuel powerplant instead of making about 20 fuel generators (thats a lot of fuel gens and it would look dope but man i aint got time to lay all that pipe for refineries and belts for sinks)
Yes
ty
Does cart length impede the trains torque? And would it eventually be unable to move given a long enough train?
now that i think about it, you could probably put a block every ~80m and any train that is a multiple of 5 carts would work efficiently. Smaller ones could take 1 block, larger could take 2, even larger take 3 etc.
you need a certain locomotive to cargo ratio. 1:4 always works, but something like 1:20 can work on a completely flat track with slower acceleration
an 80% "cargo ratio" is fine enough so i would just do sets of 1:4.
yeah, or longer to an extent (just with more locomotives)
I'm tring to leave the grassy plains so just carting every completed component to the desert to continue phase 4 there
One for smart plates is good, you'll be making those for all 5 phases
can loco's be attached from to back?
alr ty
you can and probably should use dimensional depot to access those materials
Im not ingame right now so cant test
I want throughput tho so I don't need to redo everythign I've made that side of the map
why would you have to redo anything
depot can upload whatever you want to build with
Arent depots really slow?
they are arbitrarily fast because you can easily build more
Ah ok I'll check that out too
like putting 10 depots on concrete is totally valid xd
Wait can you conveyor out of depots?
yes
WHAT
I mean
you can't use dimensional depot to teleport items from A to B to feed machines at B
Ah
but why would you do that
ok I was about to bust
it sounds like you manufactured loads of materials at grassy fields that you don't actually need
and you're looking for a way to transport them across the entire map and spend them there, for purposes other than build gun?
I started at grassy, I've looked at it for 300 hours, I hate it now
but why are you trying to take materials with you for anything other than the build gun
if it's build gun, depot has you covered. If it's not, leave it there and build fresh
it's not worth moving scraps on a 10km trainline to feed a machine on the other side of the world basically. Really, any train line at all (barring a well organised and already built system)
Well it's like all iron components, all caterium components, motors, rotors, early space elevator parts etc
stuff I'll likely need to continue building other parts
im not trrying to move ingots is what I mean
If and when you make a part that needs them, you can manufacture them in the needed quantity from ore and that takes much less work than dealing with old, dependant factories
hey dont talk like that about my biome
if it's for build gun, depot is perfect
ok maybe I need to just let it be, I got everything hooked up to depots already
And franky I hate trains
Kinda ye
You can control your velocity in the air with WASD keys, and jetpack. That control increases with turbofuel and rocket fuel.
para then
research some fungus
then yeah, figure out if it's worth it. Most people use pure I think
We all started here I think.
There is several obscure things that can completely fuck your networks.
But eventually I kept trying and now I like them. But I admit there is definitely some obscure things around them.
jetpack is not a hub thing?
up to you. Make blueprints
No run speed buff with coffee? Lame 😝
jetpack is start of p3, but that's like 15% of the way into the game as far as prog is concerned. Not long between hypertubes and jetpack. That's how most people use the tubes. Their direction doesn't even really matter, since you can easily do a 180 degree turn with jetpack
oh ok
for parachute you have to at least kind of aim in the general direction, and yes trial and error if it goes to the completely wrong place
everything fun is at phase 3 smh
Overcloak everything man.
There is enough power shard to overcloak everything. In fact you can even have infinite power shard.
Right now I am in the halfway point of hate/love. They are like printers, they work, or don't work, completely at their own whims.
i may or may not have 130 lying around in my inventory
figure i can just run 4 refineries for 8 fuel powerplants
rn tryna get my walkways aligned for this so i can have intersections in the midle since they clip into the upper parts of the plants
BUT Aeryn made me realise at some point during phase 4 my mindset changed, instead of being outcome driven I'm too focused on the minutia of transport.
I have been there too. Don't hesitate to post in #1038092680493801533 when you have a problem, it helped me a lot (but it still took me lot of time to get the hang of it).
Just gonna go back to building factories, that's why we love the game.
I really understand how making long belts is cool and stable.
But I just love my currently in number of 3 tracktors just wobbling around.
🚜
man tryna angle these walk ways on the fuel powered generators is major pain
https://imgur.com/a/QEukeQI i mightve overkilled a bit with the hyper cannon
mind you i still was going
I think you should maybe take the train
the ammount of lives ive taken with the sugarcube
Listen I get it. I could make compacted coal where the coal or sulfur.
