I can't snap hypertube junctions to a hypertube. This makes me sad.
Anyone else have a doggo milking parlor?
Are you sure you connected it to the correct line
"Remove all" button in crate doesn't work.
in very late game, || you can craft the power shards instead of needing slugs ||
You gotta use a path signal going in, and a block signal directly after the junction. Same for the intersection between the outbound rail and the mainline
currently doing alternates (got iron wire as my first but my second has alternate Iron Alloy and Alternate fused Wire, should I take either or reroll or just leave it in my library? I'm barely into this game relatively (about to setup steel production))
i have no idea about any of it, but i will store the info for that time. i still have no idea what slooping is and i keep thinking its about a skiff. i know its not😆 . ive only just found a yellow slug and i know where a blue one is relative to where i set up
I leave stuff I don’t want in the library
if you haven't unlocked the M.A.M. you will shortly (it's part of tier 1). It lets you research technologies and utilities based off stuff you find in the world. Slugs are one of the things you can research
ive seen people say to leave the ones you dont want in archive, you can always claim later or reroll, and that leaves the pool smaller and better chance for what you want? something like that i think
yes
do we get solar power at somepoint?
i think you can get a mod for that
no. there are mods that have solar
let me check
refined power is pretty popular
fuel power is so OP i don't know if ill do anything else
theres one for an "alien solar panel"
just needs a lot of space
Solar and wind were nixed early on as being basically too easy.
the oil nodes are so close to eachother too
might be better than nuclear but i havent checked my residue in forever
i went to the north (north west?) coast and set it up there
really haven't explored much outside of dune desert this playthrough
i set up my train to automatically go to my oil rig area and back to my factory incase i need to go back
I seem to have significantly less sloops than I thought.
although refined power makes like standard coal power setups more complicated if i remember correctly.
wouldn't recommend if it's your first playthrough
idk if i will do nuclear, probably for fun
Isn't it also that canonically FICSIT is into short-term solutions and so the ones that exploit the environment the most are included and not simpler, more efficient solutions?
Im building one.
when i played sf+ that had them, there were limits on how many you could put down. Which doesn't REALLY make sense, but prevented you from just making a giant windmill farm in the sky and never having to worry about power again
since factories are mostly spread across the map, do you just build a sink on each factory and send the overflow?
yep
i feel like you have to sink if you want a functional factory, so yes
im sinking all my polymer because it stopped my fuel production
Heh there is a limit on light! Don't want to suck all the energy out of the sun.
Driving me crazy I remember putting a sloop in something but not what, and now I have like 300 different things being made.
what do you think this is, dyson sphere project?
we need a pollution mechanic
green water aesthetics
we already have flushable toilet
case closed
I think wind and solar would have worked though, they have the limitation of bveing non-constant sources like the geothermal is. That means if you use it you really kind of have to use the power storage mechanism to set up a power stable system. I think that would have been as much effort as any coal plant, especially if you needed water to cool the battery banks.
You miss the point that Ficsit is about exploitation.
Wel okay 😄
Lorewise ||the company is corrupted beyond salvation. It is beyond salvation and possibly fully controlled by SAM||
The manual way to find it is to go into dismantle mode and start mousing over everything. The sloop will show up in the list of returned materials (and should stick out quite a bit compared to everything else)
photovoltaic solar: free energy, css do not want
molten solar: requires at least water, so not as-free as photovoltaics
if it exists they needed some way to make it have an ongoing cost or diminishing returns
but a one time cost infinite power source is too easy
it wont exist because ||SAM demands to consume by exploiting other materials.||
otherwise there's a mod for finding sloops called Somersloop Finder, or you can upload your save to a calculator and find the building(s) that are producing over 100%
we don't have steam engine do we?
Closest I think it's coal generator
i mean, the generator producing power rwith water and coal is definitely using steam, but we don't have one called a steam engine exactly
Doesn't coal generator operate via steam🤔
yea, it's steam generator, they just call it coal generator for whatever reason
only now I read the flavor text
it would be confusing for a player who doesn't know what a steam generator is.
probably because a generator and an engine are not the same thing.
Coal Generator immediately gives the idea that it demands coal.
i have a massive storage of just polymer resin
actually that makes me wonder
the biofuel generator - its burning it, but with no water is it just using air to turn the turbines???
I STG every time I go across the map my fuel generator factory has a breakdown in the flow and my power starts to fluctuate wildly.
hot air pressure , sure
ada would be ashamed at us for how inefficient that is
ada gets mad at everything
ADA is always ashamed anyway
they shoulda given us a bucket or something to get some initial water 😂
that's not true! ADA told me i'm her most valued pioneer!
however the line she says when you go from Elevator Parts 2 to 3 is cool.
she said not to tell you guys 'cause it'd be bad for morale tho but i mean, screw y'alls morale
she called me a monster
"it can look overwhelming, but you wouldn't be here if you were not capable enough".
maybe the leaves on Massage have extra moisture and that make some steam pressure as the cakes burn....
that's the voice line where she immediately starts peer pressuring us afterwords by saying how the average pioneer succeeds at saving the day isn't it 😂
I think she does that in somewhere else.
I think devs knew that Tier 3 is a big deal so toned down ADA on that abit lols
how to snap splitter/mergers onto exisitng belts?
hold CTRL
you should just be able to plce them right on the existing belt from what ive seen and it will make the connection
my fuel buffer fills up incredibly fast
well, worked now. idk what happened before
even with that weird drain mechanic
i think 3 fuel eaters generate enough power
what happens when we flush pipes and buffers, does it jump empty into the ground?
it goes to the same place as the toilet
Me: Plummet to my death because of a whoopsie
Ada after I... i dunno what the lore is on respawning, hatch out of a cloning pod? Revive in some fashion: "Next time you are doing that, don't"
thanks for the protip there ada. I was totally gonna do that again.
ada gives the best advice always
for all of her sass, i was always kinda sad to get the last sloop message... i heard there's more now though so lookin' forward to that
Have you heard Elev-ADA?
wayyy more
are there elevator-specific lines!? i never built one 'cause.... i have a hoverpack. i never really wanted an elevator, unless it was for trains.
just built one for fun, highly recommend
noted, ill try building one once i unlock it (my 1.1 save is not very progressed and i didn't wanna hop in on the old factory...)
Think I have almost completely gotten rid of copper recipes so far
Still need for rotors
except pasta, I'm pretty sure you technically do not need any copper at all
that and pipes
caterium alts are really nice
Yes. the elevator has its own "ada". Its pretty funny. It "wont let you down".
got advanced steel production and wondered why I couldn't make foundry - I didn't get basic first 😢
(I got the steel for it from a crash site)
getting advanced items from crash sites is a really fun mechanic
what is korolev
idk you tell me
Korolev was a scientist that designed space rockets
satisfactory gets a lil boring, what do i do lol
Trains question.
Can I just have a single line and the train flips at each station on the end or must there be a loop for it to turnback on the same track?
if you put a locomotive at both ends it'll be able to move back and forth on the same track
Okay thanks, do I need 2 train stations at each end then? Spaced as far apart as the locomotives?
no, just one at the far end is enough
make sure they're facing away from the rest of the track
Cool sent a screen shot to confirm
Thats ok. I never had any morale to begin with
Is there a way to set a swatch to automatically be applied without changing the defaults for everything? Or do I just have to manually paint every thing I place?
Only way is to change the default colors
unfortunate
since 1.1 when you copy a buildable with "scroll click" it copies also the color applied
so u can put down lets say a foundation and a wall, paint those, then copy and go crazy
are there any YouTubers who makes good gameplay videos?
https://www.youtube.com/@WhatDarrenPlays I like this guys videos a lot
Can trains go 4m ramps
"Lets game it out" makes very good Satisfactory videos
try placing rails on them
Well, LGIO makes very good LGIO videos, at least. :D
the slide jump mechanic is so addicting that i almost had to respawn like 4 or 5 times and i almost flew out the cliff a few times 😂
(Though LGIO is what introduced me to the game, so it presumably works well as advertising. :)
it was thanks to him i also got the game
If you slide as you hit a jump pad it sends you very far
Lets game it out introduced me as well 🤣
last time i played was march last year and would do a slide jump on mk5 belt would send me Mach 5 and adding jetpack was insane
Was a fluid priority junction really that easy..?
Pipes need a rework in this game
"how to not play 101"
jk I love his videos
tyry
seems fair remove pipeline pump thingys
Do it now on a mk6 🙂
with ionized fuel
Outside figuring out how to make it work a bit more consistently (randomly not able to push 600 through mk2 pipes without loop systems mostly) It seems fine to me.
Mk6 belt + sliding into a jump pad into a hypertube would probably send you to the m satisfactory sequel
hypercannon can do that on its own
I noticed that hypertubes give more distance if you slide in them but yea true
they give a lot more distance if you use them to make a cannon
Bookie, have you never seen a hypertube cannon?
I’m pretty sure 99% of the problems with liquids in this game would be solved if they just gave us an option to have one way junctions
thats just valves with extra steps and valves don't fix a lot of problems.
I tried making one but the connecting kept bugging out on me
Well, either way you're not wrong
The faster you are going Into a hypertube, the more momentum you have for the first.. bit of it till you slow back down to normal speed.
Which is partly why hypertube cannons even work, but you can also make a hypertube cannon that isn't a cannon, and just have a ton of speed going into your tube.
yeah I think I should do that because one thing that aggravates me about cannons is sometimes they are a bit finnicky
cannon into a tube should mean you actually go to the right place when you want to
Hypertube cannons should be 100% reliable so long as you always enter them with the same velocity
I had one I built which after a while just randomly launched me at completely the wrong angle
mine are 100% reliable at any walking/running/sliding velocity
the entrances just need to be spaced correctly I think
mine was 100% reliable until that thing started happening
Okay, if I self drive, the trains work fone, but when i set up a timetable, it cant go back and forth. Also how do I get the stuff to unload at the end destination?
I set the platforms to the unload toggle
Start a #1038092680493801533 thread and include good pictures (ideally overhead) of your stations, etc.
do both stations look like the one you posted in screenshots?
and the train comes in from the back?
Yes, the station is at the end of the freight platforms and I have the arroes of the stations pointing away fromt he track as you said
Yes, train goes through the freight platforms to get to the station
and you have locomotives on both ends of the train and they face opposite directions?
Correct
I’m gonna get so many powershards now
the schedule is just station 1 and station 2?
Yes
and there are no signals?
No signals, one single straight track
I’m about to build my first train for bauxite in a minute lol
Let’s hope it goes well
so the train went 1->2 fine but doesn't want to go 2->1?
when you hop in, what does it say?
do yall only use power shards in miners?
I drove it from 1-2, it auto loaded after I crashed it, lol
But when I set up the time table to go back from 2-1 it wont go
if I can use the extra ore, yes
Must the arrow for the station point towards the track rather?
Yea to max out my belts
post a #1038092680493801533 thread with screenshots of the train, stations and timetable
I've ran out of common issues I think
I wish we can overclock trains like you can with machines, if the train uses 30MW at 120km/h I’d gladly accept 100MW for 180km/h
can you not just add a loco?
I don’t think it adds speed, just makes your train move faster when loaded
no, it unfortunately caps out at ~120 km/h regardless
adding more train engines just gives you more pull strenght.
There is a limit to how much a single train can pull up hill.
Add too many cars and it won't be a ble to go up as steel of slopes.
Lol I’d be happy with that too
Good. It’s high in protein and regens a lot of health
i may not be smart but i believe that six hours for one slug isnt satisfactory
quick question the Coal power plants they consume coal either theyre connected or not to buildings right?
Wdym?
I thought if the doggo found an item, for example a purple power slug it will keep getting that item over and over
I had one station pointing the wrong way🙈
Sorry.
But thanks for the help.
Super useful having trains now
do you mean if they're connected to your main energy line or not?
yeah
i hate it when first cycle goes slow
If you give a coal generator coal and water, and turn it on, it will burn coal no matter what, its connection to any grid has no bearing
yes they will
Can trains cause inconsistencies in the amount of items being moved from 1 place to another?
Yea if you don’t have buffers set up to account for the train journey
I do have buffers set up and more than enough train cars so each one barely fills up
Im making around 900 encased uranium cells a minute and im moving them around halfway across the map
I have them going to around 45 manufacturers which in total will use 900/min but some are only running around 15 - 40% of the time
Generally you can depend on trains but it takes setting it up first before you know the exact items per minute. You can look inside a train station to see how many items per minute are being received or sent
Quick question regarding tractors; if there's a collision between them or they get stopped for whatever reason, will the game notify me?
Yeah I added it all up and im only seeing around 681/min
Prob not
I think it only does that for trains
pre sure they do for collisions and running out of fuel (maybe just fuel now)
They will fix themselves after some time
Oh
Ok
because they do try to do this I know
I just dont know the limits of their fixing abilities
Thanks peeps
If they cant fix themselves they will just teleport to the next waypoint
if you add enough carts so that it doesn't fill up all the way, by the time it makes one full round, then you should get exactly 900/min
Each cart only fills up to maybe around 10 - 20%
And I have 2 trains running the route
6 carts per train
hmm idk I'm stumped then. The math should work.
If you have one location producing 900 min and you never accumulate excess at that location, then you're getting 900 min at the other end
Is there no vc where I can screen share?
Guys is there any hard drive spot that you know has alclad aluminum sheets
Only thing I could think of is I have alot of trains using that track so times can vary
I need 90 at least, or 300 to unlock more stuff
Satisfactory calulator has an interactive map
You can find hard drives and possibly their loot there
anyone know a trick to make hypertubes go at a perfect incline without straightening out in the end? I can tilt the support, but i can't get fine control of the tilt angle that i need, just 15 degree increments...
trying to get a really long 1m ramp hypertube to be perfectly straight the whole way up the ramp and with or without mods i can't figure it out
I want the look exactly, I’ve looked around and only found a spot with 116 which would be enough for a hover pack but not mk5 logistics
You can use the mousewheel to angle it, or is that not working?
are you sure that you're consuming 900 per min on the other end, and not more than that?
it is - that's how im doing it in 15 degree increments. but i need something like a 5 degree angle or what have you, and can't find a way to do finer control
Can you aim this slide into a hyper loop launcher
and I have 36 blenders making 25/min each
I tried and I see the issue
this could also just be if you'e using a manifold it takes a while for all machines to saturate 100%
likely will need mods or some sort of trick to do it
its been a few hundred hours
and it was working before
it slowly dropped to this point where I am now
one of them hit 3% now
I check at the other factory and everything is at 100% there
strange thing is even at the station where the uranium cells are going into its not 900
downside: could not find a trick or mod to mess with the angle of the support more finely. Upside: acxd in the modding server found me an infinite length hyper tube mod, so i can just.... put a really, really, really long angled tube that stays perfectly diagnol the whole way across and then straightens out only when the ramp ends 😂 it'll do!
but I am producing 900/min
dunno not a clue but u can make a particle collider with the hyper tubes and cross the whole map while u read this message 😂
ah ok thats what i wanted to know before keep expanding my factory
this has happened for me before, so just in case: did you screw up priorities with a sink splitter somewhere and even though you're producing 900, you're sinking more than you can spare
Shhhh why you gotta ruin the fun
is it a really small stack size item maybe? 1200 per train trip if it only stacks to 50, so if your train takes longer'n a minute and a half you'd run out
hrm.... 5400'd give ya six minutes so unless its a really busy track or really long one that wouldn't be it then.... a buffer issue?
Buffers are not the issue
im outta ideas then we've exhausted my "Why aren't my items shipping fast enough" checklist
Only thing I could think of is a incorrect belt such as a mk4 or mk3
but ive checked every belt
can you sink space elevator parts? I think I have way too much now
you absolutely can!
when the train loads it stops all inputs
you said you weren't using any sinks!
and backs up the line causing overflow to go into the sinks
yeah I forgot about some lol
😂
problem solved
hopefully
this is the 3rd or 4th issue I've found with fuel rod production or waste processing so I wont be surprised if there is more
fuel rods are annoying and i dont ever want to deal with them again
Damn so with a mk4 belt I’m limited to running 1 OC refinery to produce 500 alumina solution lol
this is my second time playing so I haven't gotten nearly as many Epic achievements, and the Pipe Dream achievement I just got was so loud and scared the crap outta me
This is my first time doing a setup with fuel rods and I went way to large scale for it lol
How much power do you plan?
225GW
i spent like 2 hours on cells then another 2 for everything else
I have spent at least 100 - 150 hours now
That’s how much I’m planning too, I’ll probably do 250GW tho so it becomes 300GW in total
between doing everything and troubleshooting
i was doing it with all advanced settings so it was less hard but i was still losing my marbles
i was doing*
The factory lags my world really bad but was 100% worth it for the 225GW
Time to do the most exciting and fun thing in game, it’s saving and rescanning until I get the recipe I want time!
This is peak fun
also there is no half walls? I mean in lenght not height
I was suffering from the lack of those earlier
Do you lag when you’re near it or everywhere
Near
What’s your cpu
I’m cooked if you’re lagging with that set up
This factory is massive and unnecessarily big so it might not be an issue if you build it smaller
Massive as in? Do you do everything on site
oh smart plating has no use after phase 2, why the hell am I still doing them
I think later space elevator recipes use it
Damn I see
they come in use for later elevator shit.
as material for something else?
Its not even done yet but I had to take a 4.5 month break from the game because of it
Yes
had an issue with my rail blueprints where if i turned it the correct way connecting it off the other ramp, the hologram'd always be six nudges too low - i'd have to lock and nudge up exactly 6 times no matter what.
So I thought to myself, hey, I know what i'll do. I'll go make a copy of this blueprint.... that is floating exactly six nudges in the air! done and done!
said blueprint connects so low automatically that it now requires exactly.... 12 nudges up to get into position
you win this round, ada
The factory is so big that my game just crashes because of it
dont even want to talk about my turbo fuel factory
I think I used up all my luck when I got alumnia solution first time
I got it into my head to try to make the most ridiculous turbo fuel factory i could out of the entire western oil fields. I used the dilution, blends, and somersloops in every machine that'd take 'em. I underestimated the size of the factory so bad that by the time i got halfway through and had to stop playing for awhile, when i came back it was such an impossible mess i had to give up and abandon the project...
I made it without the diluted fuel recipe but it still took a few 8 hour+ days to finish it
ADA CAN SWEAR???
What are the chances of getting a recipe you need
never
You will likely spend hours just to get the 1 recipe you need just because the game feels like it
Just save any hard drives you dont want any recipes from
the trick is to get a ton of hard drives at the same time. You can't "roll" recipes that other ones are already offering, so they can sit there and "block out" the bad offers
Am I running in circles here
yes.
I got the automated miner recipe 3 times
see you gotta leave that hard drive un-used
i wish i could place beams on elevators
Don’t tell me there is a set recipe that you can’t change
then it'll prevent any other hard drives from offering you the miner
Oh my god
or just take it
yeah but an unused hard drive blocks 2 recipes whereas taking garbage only removes 1 from the pool
its not garbage tho
if you're not gonna be bothered to make a factory that uses it it's garbage until you are lol
mk1, mk2, mk3?
or did you get alt recipe
imagine handcrafting 🤮
what would yall recommend to sink starting at 40k a coupon?
No the miner you place down
dna
I just started sinking petrocoke to get rid of residue and i dont wanna worry much about oil either way, and ive been sinking overflow of
Yea but you get tons of it especially if you sloop it
Production amplifier
lol fair enough
You use the soomersloops to 2x the production of your machine
ye ye i gotchya
They’re pretty op, use them for power shards too
slooping's really great for dna tbh - double the protein, then double again for the dna
good for biofuel as well
man i might start collecting mob drops
i really couldnt think of the use
theyre in inhalers right?
I think I barely ever used dna points last save
protein inhaler yeah
ope
You can sloop 1 animal remain into 6000 biofuel
cool story bro
if you sloop it at like each step?
i i got one on my biofuel production but im not slooping it rn
Yes
is there a way to reorganize the submenus in your build list? like if i wanted inverted ramps listed before regular ramps
Have slooped machines producing alien protein and alien DNA. This is what happens when I turn them on.
cool
more'n anything i appreciate the amount of violence required to sustain that for more'n a few seconds
I just made a factory producing 450 rifle ammo and 7.5 cluster nobelisks a minute
actually, 10 cluster nobelisks
may the evil pig who killed me with a rock be reincarnated in your world for a more terrible death than i was able to inflict
i just shot him with rebar like a peasant
I shall avenge you, pioneer. By completely exterminating all hostile life in this planet.
why do conveyor walls overlap the blueprint machine
im boutta make a lil consumable factory, gonna put this charcoal alt to good use
I need to finish my phase 3 factory. Been procrastinating for too long.
if you start exterminating non-hostile life ada takes issue with it. she liked me better before i killed a lizard doggo '>.>
in my defense, my rebar gun was freshly crafted and it was right there, all target-practice lookin'....
where can i find 100 aluminum alclad sheets forom crashed ships
My brain is gonna melt from reading anything in these channels T-T
need to get the hover pack
idk where exactly but I think I found some in the spiral coast up north, or maybe it was between the coast and dune desert, in that mountain
either there or swamp
can you send a screenshot of where it is in the map
dude i am a war criminal, not a savage.
i can cannon over to it
somewhere around these parts
are there any intermediate parts that are best to overproduce to prepare for late game?
do you have a more exact location
rotors, copper sheets, motors, computers, circuits, copper cable
Nope, I was exploring the area and found it there
Most probably around the mountain in the first screenshot
In mid to late game do you guys transfer around the completed items or the raw materials to other factories? I've got like a dozen factories producing different things that need to be brought together.
Israelis when looking at children be like
Dam
Completed items towards other chains make sense because these things will take up less room on a belt/train/truck/drone/back pocket,
holy crap thanks
just went from 8 coupons or so to 50 in like 1 minute just using alien meat I already had and slooping it
and its still 10 times cheaper than my standard points lol
why did no one ever tell me this..
I mean I never asked but still
I do completed items shipped to another building. That way you don't need to rebuild whole sections of factories to produce the same item again.
Save them up
Thanks. That's usually what I do but it's a lot of logistics lol
If you want the golden nut statue they’re really valuable
nah I gotta spend em now, assuming you mean coupons
..uh huh
DNA capsules
The golden nut takes 1000 coupons
I know logistics, check this mess out #satisfactory-experimental message
So if you have enough for 200 coupons then you save yourself like 2 billion points you needed to sink
Here's the same place as a clip #screenshots message , it is limited to moving just 10200 sam for processing though.
I have 400 capsules saved up
i love how this game has me sometimes going "Hmmmm, jetpack can't get me up this cliff, its too tall. My parachute can fly me up though!"
would anyone know why quartz isnt showing up in the world at the nodes?
Cave, Some of the nodes are underground
hey y'all i'm hoping someone can help me, i made a dedicated server in 1.1 and no matter what i do, i'm just stuck in a loading screen forever. i did the command "open TCP/8888" but that hasn't done anything. am i missing something? thanks y'all.
login to your router and port forward 8888 TCP. Dont just run a command on the host system. in additon you'll need to also port forward 7777 TCP/UDP
for continued Dedicated server discussion lets move to https://discord.com/channels/370472939054956546/902621736602861588
how to i access my router to do this? is there a specific system command?
i cant find the entrance
... One of the hogs that throws stuff just hit my nobelisk mid-air with a rock and killed me. I hope he got an achievement for that.
which area are you in? Do you want spoilers?
i have no idea what area im in
If you can't find the node then it's almost certainly underground. Some of the cave entrances are far away from where the nodes show on the map
ah
Yeah, there's one in particular where the nodes are in the middle of a cave with 3 entrances. All pretty far from where the nodes actually are
In the Rocky Desert? 😄
lmao everyone knows the one
im on the left side
That's the rocky desert
-1856 -1756 something like that
lol good luck!
lol going somewhere else then lol
Nah... do you have nobelisks?
nah i just started trying to get quartz for blade runners
I'm pulling all the possible quartz rfom there and making crystals from it on the beach 🙂
You can usually run across enough quartz nodes randomly to get the blade runners
Anyone know if pipes just stop working right when you aren't within a thousand km of them?
i believe it will stay loaded and work
I'll go out to my power station, stabilise everything, and then when I get back to my main factory area it's whack again.
It's probably just not actually stable
I even spend time there making sure it stays that way. q.q
This is eight coal generators and twelve fuel generators.
They can be tricky but they should stay loaded.
post questions and help thread with pics of the pipes
are you sinking / putting the polymer resin into storage?
Both.
I have to find which level is experiencing issues before I troubleshoot it.
Ah, I see the issue. I have a fuel generator directly on the end of the pipeline and it's sucking the pipe dry.
I'll just get rid of it.
I think ive made a grave mistake,
I dont currently have a factory for iron as im early game (finished stage 1 minus the explorer one with the MAM)
I'm building a factory with literally handcrafting everythiing (plates, rods, etc)
have i just completely cooked myself 😅
3 water extractors at 75% can power 6 fuel generators i beleve
no, you can still save yourself i think
if you have a portable miner then you can make a miner tier 1
or mk1
Why do you have water going into your fuel generators at all...
HOW DID THAT WEIRD FROG THING GET INTO MY FACTORY
Ye you can save yourself ez just start by automating the basic stuff
yeah i have a mk1 miner that im just pulling iron ore out of to smelt manually 😭
and craft my plates manually
but hey i have 14 furnaces setup from splitters going into mergers
(now to build the constructors)
how to split 4 outputs of 420 into
1260 split between 8 inputs + 420 split between 2 inputs
Do it automaticly 100% better
the 420 -> 420 is obvious but
how would i split the remaining 3 outputs into 8 inputs
making smart plating is so slow even with x2 output and full overclock
yeah i am about to setup a constructor to get that done so i dont have to keep holding down space for 12 years at a time
Haha, thats the way to go!
seeing my max power consumption exceed my production
not ag ood feeling.
That feel when you realised you set something up poorly and now have to fix it 🥲 Realised I didn't leave any room to split my metal beams off to make encased as well from that line
Donezo.
hypothetically, is there a height limit if i were to make a massive factory?
Yes
you'd have to try very hard to hit the hight limit.
it's pretty high tho
doesnt sound hard to reach im going to make a few more floors
if by a few you mean a hundred then maybe
depending on how big each floor is
4 walls on my base floors (1-5) and im working on my fifth right now
i got am od that lets me build nodes luckily
at that rate you will never have to worry about a height limit.
which, for the record.
The height limit is just a universal top of the map zone you can't build above.
Has nothing to do with the terrain or structure below it.
so its like minecraft
in that sense yea
i wonder what i should make on this floor
dude i made pizza rolls earlier and left them in the freezer and forgot
Rip pizza rolls 🫡
Anyone know why I cant change conveyor belt item frequency to anything but 30 when before 1.1 I could put it as high as I wanted?
this is brilliant
tasted like rubber when i reheated them
never wouldve thought about doin that
🤣🤣💀
#screenshots message
how was THIS 200 iron plates???
Technalogia
im going to turn my 5th floor into a copper wire thing
Why do only some buildings turn copper when i apply the finish to them and others just turn pink
it feels so weird having a drill on my factory
Did 1.1 take away the "Unlimited Length Vertical Conveyors Through A Floor Hole" trick?
it better not have!
No I still use it
for the funny secret car it should only move right, even if you go reverse, you only go right
And the process is still "build the top and bottom floors (making sure they're aligned), put in the conveyor floor hole, attach the top lift piece, go to the lower floor, and build the bottom of the lift", correct?
I went back to my base to get mercer spheres to build the storage, I got other things and forgot to get the dumb spheres
😡
So been trying to figure out where to put my pipeline pumps, and everything I read states I should be able to follow the "Head Lift Limit Range" (the blue blue thing that pulses up the tube when you are placing it down). For some reason, this thing just dissapears the moment I hit a support. Is this normal or expected? I am placing a tube on the smallest angle ramps.
The placement guide is a bit unreliable, often as not it doesn't appear at all for me
From my experience as long as you get fluid flow its probably fine
are you doing L1 or L2 pumps?
L1 pumps. And its only if the support is on a foundation. It just stops and dissapears.
Well doesnt stop, just dissapears
yup, what I'd suggest is just learn the spacing you need, for an L1 pump it's about 8 to 10 of the lowest angle ramps
Okay, false alarm. That trick is still working, and mostly the way I described. You just have to climb up to the point where the lift hole is within build gun range.
Thats annoying, but yah, this thing seems really buggy
Just build alot of pumps and hope for the best
pumps are annoying
Try piping 90 diffrent lines of water to a bunch of reactors
The OCD in me wants to get it just right 🙂 but yah, ill just have to get a feel for it.
tell me pumps are annoying then
i already tried
haha im a rookie, just trying to hook up my first coal power plant 😉
only 90? 😛
i just got 10,000,000 points pm on the sink :D
dunno, didnt count
it did involve a lot of cheat mods to duplicate fluids
75,000,000 now :D
Me and a friend just ended up spending a whole day building water extractors and piping water up
probably the worst part of nuclear power
i understand why nuclear reactors need water but most the time it has to be directly on the ground
so moving water up takes forever and most the time doesnt want to go up
so yah, the blue ring thing just doesnt work as soon as you start putting supports that are on a foundation. if you have foundations on just regular ground there is no issue TIL
If you're sending the water more than 10m higher than the water extractor's output, then you'd need a pump; shouldn't take too long to fill up a pipe given the flow rates
randomly drains and stops flowing for a few seconds even with pumps
I average like 10'000'000 constantly, I have so many resources flowing into the sinks all over the map, it's now at something like 550'000'000'000 for a single ticket.
Though yeah, I basically always build NPPs right near sea level so the extractors are right next to the NPPs
even with like 4 pumps on one pipe going 4m up
I'd recommend starting a #1038092680493801533 thread with pictures of your setup, etc. I'm sure whatever issue you've got is solvable. :)
that's what pumps are for
4 pumps and it wont go 4 meters up and decides to go back down randomly
did you power the pump
yes
hrm. building my figure 8 station and the signal rule of 'merge = block, split = path' has failed me
honestly this one chunk of track makes no sense to me - i've got like half a dozen signals on it and it's still being considered one block....
Personal opinion
Converters need to make more time crystals per machine...
ok problems to check in this order:
1: water input is powered
2: pumps are powered
3: pumps are actually placed low enough to be useful. (all machines that are not pumps have like.. 10 meters of headlift. that's a bit less than the height of a water extractor from the pipe on it)
4: double check exactly where the water appears to be stopping. and perhaps rebuild the pipe to make sure the connection isn't bugged
5: turn the machien the fluid is going into off, until the pipe is 100% backed up with water.
4 normal nodes of coal is enough for 8 or 16 coal power plants?
i connect the lift from under the top then run them down. then i put the ends on the conveyor holes last
divide however much coal you're mining by 15
coal gens use 15 per minute
for aluminium, i am trying to recycle my water since i am using sloppy alternative recipe and aluminium scrap also produce water. problem is they arent balanced at all. if i use a pump and water extractor, the pipe remain too full of water. any idea?
thanks
I always recomment keeping the fresh + recycled totally separate. Send 'em to separate banks of machines, and downclock as appropriate
Like this example from a vanilla-recipe aluminum setup, but the concept's the same: #satisfactory-experimental message
Either go look up how to make a VIP pipe system so that your recycled water has priority
ooor don't recycle your water and use recipies like wet concrete to sink it.
after having issues with water recycling myself, i'd mostly reccomend the later.
water is everywhere after all, not a resource you're hurting for.
Gonna use this
How much bauxite does it take?
I’ll probably start overclocking thing to make it easier for me
Oh, don't recall; that was a pretty small starter aluminum factory to get alclad accumulating while I went out hard drive hunting. :D
Haven't had that save open since February; don't recall the details
i have a question, i am last phase (phase 2) assume, i produce, modular frame, how much do u plan to produce? like many recipie require mod frame, when other recipie require MF you produce there again or u setup train from where you originally produced, i get confued by how much(how many numbers)to produce?
My recommendation: whenever something needs Modular Frames, just make more modular frames right inside that new factory.
That way the only "how much of X should I make?" question is how quickly you want your own personal storage to fill up
I’ll be using it for the same reasons lol
I need the electrode scrap and pure aluminum ingot
It means you'll end up with maybe dozens of factories which are making modular frames, but you'll always be making exactly as much as you need. :)
Mk5 belts need aluminum sheets that sucks
i'd produce a pretty good ammount of modular frames per minute.
With the intent on porting it to other things in the future, since modular frames are used in many things.
And if you can you'd ave yourself a lot of time just evnetually belting that line into other things in the future.
while also still keeping some for yourself.
Ah, but alclad is really easy to make in bulk, especially right after you've unlocked aluminum -- at that point, there's not a lot else which needs aluminum
Well it sucks at first but not once I get production going I know
I've found I can usually pump my storage full w/ alclad pretty quickly
Ok
I found that the mk6 belts made setting up aluminum in particular easier, since you can offload scrap at 1200 a min
Mk5 belts are an awkward spot
hi
Yeah, in the pre mk5 phase what I do is set up with the mk4s just enough to get sheet production, then finish the build out with mk5s
Oh my god, 45 compromised passwords
Once you get used to building aluminum, mk5 belts will seem cheap to you
Guys check your passwords app rn
why
Just do it
imagine using apps for your passwords
yeah the fuck
instead of writing them out with belts in satisfactory
😂
i got a all my passwords in my head
nah I have 5 passwords burned into my brain I use for different things
A Normal node with either an overclocked mk.1 miner or a 100% clock mk.2 miner can fill a 120 belt, which powers 8 gens. So 4 nodes can do 32 gens.
Later on you can overclock mk.2 miners and use mk.3 belts, so 4 normal nodes can handle 72 gens.
32 gens is however enough to get you to fuel power, which is much more powerful.
hmmm solid steel ingot is interesting
I admit that aluminum processing is a bit daunting the first time around, but it's really easy to build a lot of ingots (and therefore a lot of alclad). I'm generally awash in mk5s very shortly after unlocking aluminum
i got 17
goat
it's the best steel alt
Most passwords are compromised now apparently, I’d change them if I were you lol
im keeping mine
fatal mistake: saying an alt is the best in the Satisfactory Discord
inbound '' it depends ''
it's a mistake I willingly make when someone says solid steel ingot
it depends
Well it depends, sometimes it is the best alt.
It's not actually a new breach, it's more of a "hey look, somebody put all of these data breaches together into a conveniently accessed file"
basically goes from 3 iron/3 coal to 2 iron/2coal for 3 steel ingots
okay is there a way to put the Mk.2 belts on my hotbar
This is alt recipe ranking canon
you get 1 extra steel per 2 iron by presmelting your ores yes.
it also makes hte numbers per minute in the foundry more even.
mouse over it and press the number
Same way you put mk1 belts on your hotbar. :)
Not gonna mess with that, I use the same password for everything, and I mean EVERYTHING
goes from 1:1 to 2:3 ratio
it did that for me
Yeah, don't do that.
If you absolutely must, then use a password manager and use one secure password to get into it so that you have your one password. The password manager can then make 30 different secure passwords for your 30 different things.
coal is somewhat scarce for me in dune desert, so great all around to get more steel
Skill issue lol
(Google says only one of mine is compromised, but I wouldn't be able to log in if it wasn't)
it really isn't.
1password is game changer
the dude that got his steam password stealing his bank account and also the email signed in his 2 authentication factor:
well i can reclaim a lot of it now with fuel generator power
phase out the coal power
if you need coal in the dune desert go to the north end.
there's like...
A fucking ton there.
Spread across
yeah yeah, its old passwords from previosu breaches being put together on one big document. most of my important apps have a phone number linked to it
They wouldn't dare touch the steam account. Gabe's private SWAT team would be on him in minutes
last time I played in the dune desert I made a massive 9.3GW compact coal power plant
its like he has a whole military to get your account back
I've clicked on one of those links of free 50$ steam gift card and put my password in the fake steam site 😭
don't blame me I was too young
i learned my lesson about password management back when my runescape acc got hacked
like 5 years ago i lost my account to a fake "i reported you" but it had nothing on it thankfully
You won't do it again. I did a lot of dumb shit when i was young..
Runescape limited a lot of my losses to virtual items instead of real money. The breadth and depth of scams on there was unreal
I got got by the hunter2 thing, and numerous other scams like person A stands up the road selling something worth 30k for 50k gold (so a bad deal), and person B stands down the road "buying it" for 100k to bait you into buying it to flip it to him. When you pay 50k for the item, person B vanishes.
Only takes one time to learn 😂
I did manage to retrieve my account 3 hours later and steam support tracked down the scammer's whole bloodline so it's fine now :)
trimming factories 1 trade
My plan is to simply set up a starter one and wait until i get enough sheets to build everything with mk5 belts, I’ll overclock scrappy alumnia refinery to max out the pipe and that will go into 2 refineries that do the rest of the job. What’s missing is how ill turn that into aluminum ingots because I’ll need silica for that unless I get lucky with the 2 hard drives
Is there any way to instantly sort the output of a truck station? I have a truck bringing Reinforced Iron Plates and Cables to a nearby factory, and I was going to sort it with a Smart Splitter right after the truck station, but it's going stack by stack and currently only outputing Cables, instead of a mixture of both.
Will this cause issues down the line in production? Is there any way to avoid this?
Just don't mix items
last year, when I had a save I made in the dune desert, I made this #design-and-architecture message
The only thing I want more from the hard drives than the pure aluminum ingot recipe is the diddy tapes rn
nice pipe work 😄
my base is a mess
There's no way to avoid the items being taken out a stack at a time, but so long as you're buffering after the sort (ie: slap an ISC after the Smart Splitter sorts) and wait for a delivery or two before actually turning on processing, it won't matter
this floor im making has a water node in it, but its giant
Is this really the best way to go about this? I'm really tight on space, and the way I have it set up is kinda the best way I can think to do it.
I think programmable splitters can help If I'm not mistaken, I forgot how they work
Sushi deliveries of material from vehicles/trains/drones is fine; you've just gotta make sure to have buffering and make sure that you let the buffer fill a bit first
Programmable splitters are just smart splitters but with more slots for items to go to each output, right?
That or sinking stuff to make sure the belt is always moving
Nah, Programmables don't help. But a bit of simple buffering will do the trick.
Do programmable/smart splitters have a flow limit
Nope
I have finnaly managed to touch the space elevator
Oh nice
Limited by the belt you're using
What's an ISC? I've thought about making a Sink outside the factory where I can sink both belts if they start to overflow, which I think is the best way to go about this?
Anything a Programmable can do can be achieved by a collection of smarts + mergers
Thankfully, no
theoretically all outputs can output 1200 p/m with mk6 belts
Industrial Storage Container. (Could also just use a regular storage container)
Make a blue print for them
You should absolutely make sure to have an overflow-to-sink when you're dealing with sushi, unless you're extremely confident of your ability to deliver exactly the correct rate of material
Having a quick way to store 192 stacks of an item is awesome
Why do only some buildings turn copper when i apply the finish to them and others just turn pink
I am ever so slightly overdelivering on both items, so I will go add a sink for the incoming belts right now.
smart splitter
overflow on the side
you can kinda do this with just about everything
But yeah, series of smart splitters with "item" on one output, and "overflow" on the other. The "item" output goes into an ISC (or just a regular storage container), and then gets processed from there. The final overflow goes to a sink. If you let your vehicle/whatever make a delivery or two before processing, the buffering will even out any stack-delivery burstiness
i gotta try out some sushi designs sometime
What RCU recipe do you guys generally go by? I think I'll use the default one
Hello everyone, new to the discord and have a question.
Is the game cross play between Xbox and PC?
Everywhere i look still shows the game unavailable on XBox.
Has anyone tried? And have anyone had any success??
Default
Yeah, it's a lot of fun! A few more things to keep track of, of course, but once you're used to it it's no big deal
No console release yet
Console has not been released yet, but there will not be crossplay between console and PC. Xbox and Playstation can play with each other, though
#screenshots message soo much powerrr compared to how much i have. i have only 375 production
Why's that?
Doing it after the sushi will cause problems though, won't it? Assume Cable is completely backed up, but more plates can flow. If there's an overflow line, then everything will go to the overflow, not just cable, right?
Why do I have the option to DL to my Xbox? That's kinda a tease
What about cross progression?
Basically because they didn't want to shackle their PC releases to the console release schedules. They want to retain the ability to roll out quick patches on PC, which would break console compatibility since console releases have to go through approval processes first
Sushi's just a belt with different types of items with a shit ton of smart splitters to sort them later, right?
oh don't worry, this is super late game
Yeah. Probably technically "sushi" just refers to the belt containing a mix of items, but yeah, smart splitters are necessary for the sorting. :)
That makes sense, makes me wish the make separate versions like Minecraft, with Java v Bedrock
If you mean savegame compatibility, I have no idea. I don't think they've talked about that specifically
There's a number of fixes for that which you'd use depending on a number of situations
if you're going sushi belt style and are worried about things backing up, then consider storage containers as buffers for individgual items being taken out of the sushi belt.
And then you just use more smart splitters to sink the excess to prevent clogging.
As an example.
Man they really need to add that in
Ah, gotcha. So then it is better to manage overflow per belt, rather than do it right off the truck station?
How do I calculate how much buffering/throughput I’ll need for trains?
honestly, do both.
You have a Smart Splitter for each sorted item. If cables overflow, they'll reach the Plates sorter and also overflow there, and eventually end up in the sink
Is singleplayer just a locally hosted server?
Gotcha, that's what I'm going to do. They're sorted off the truck station into 2 lines. Then, each line gets it's own smart splitter that manages overflow and feeds into a sink
Say that again but slowly
[Station] -----> [SS] ----(overflow)---> [SS] ----(overflow)---> [Sink]
| |
(item) (item)

v v
[ISC] [ISC]

[Process...] [Process...]
sort of, though 1.0 added in a more tightly-integrated truer "singleplayer" mode
But yes, it's essentially the server in the background. Folks have even seen the server-reboot notification in singleplayer before, and it's been the source of weird pawn issues when people end up offline (since the game thought you were a different person than before). I believe 1.0 might have more or less taken care of that last issue, though
Does it show up on the train
yes but also the max throughput of a train is slightly les than the max of 2 input belts.
as long as you aren't backing up you can expet 100% thorughput.
If you keep yourself to one belt per platform, the buffering on train stations is easy: hook an ISC up to both ports on the station, and have one belt go out
and just keep track of input output on each side.
For throughput, I always just start with one car and see if the route can support the throughput I need
If it's not sufficient, I add another car. :D
Calculating the actual throughput a train line can give you requires knowing how long the round-trip takes, so if you're building the thing anyway I always figure I'll just trial-and-error it
I don't tend to ever bother mathing it out.
Train throughput is more a matter of wether the train can make a round trip before the platform fills 100%
or close enough to 100% to start clogging.
Though my method does require that you leave yourself some extra space at your stations in case you do need to add more cars
This still encounters the issue of the truck station unloading only one stack at a time though, right? I've created a slightly different version and it seems to make sense, but the truck station is taking it's time only unloading cables, so I can't be too sure lol
``how should i put my trains? theyre all going to the same factory, all the same line or how many seperate lines would i need
I mean if you're having that issue then use two exit belts.
And two smart splitters
with storage buffers to get stuff out of the truck station.
Right, but again: so long as you let the train go through a delivery first before processing, that doesn't matter.
Yea space won’t be an issue for me
You'll have some material in the ISCs as buffer, so it doesn't matter that the individual items are a bit bursty
The train/vehicle/drone delivery is already coming in one gigantic burst; some smaller per-item bursts aren't gonna matter
I’ll just trial and error it first, I’m done gathering the materials needed so I’ll start building
(Technically you don't even have to wait for it to buffer; it'll just build up its buffer automatically during the first few delivery cycles, since some machines will temporarily starve during that burn-in)
I simplified things by making the train dedicated for one item only, which is bauxite extracted form a 600/min node
I tend to build my material delivery infrastructure first before actually doing the rest of the factory, so I tend to have all my material buffers completely full by the time I'm ready to turn things on
Yea if you're using Trains, you can honestly make it easier by only having 1 item type per car.
I’ll probably carry my reanimated Sam from that train station as well because the nodes are close together
It’s the pure nodes ontop of the mountains
My last aluminum factory Was getting thousands of silica per minute through the train
It was nice.
since I could never figure out train thoroughput very well, I always just overdid it to make sure I had enough of whatever
Why would you use silica when you have the alternate recipe
is there a good way to make trains dependable?
Train throughout isn't that complex.
The max through put is slightly less than the throug put of the 1-2 belts going in and out.
So long as neither side backs out.
You have 100% throug put
Alright, I think I got it.
#screenshots message
This is how it's set up and honestly, it seems to be working. Both of my manufacturers are completely full, and the Cable belt is always flowing until Reinforced Plates start unloading.
didn't want to or didn't have it.
don't remember at this point.
Still, had to use 2 seperate trains in order to actually meet the demand
it was backing up with 1 train and 4 cars
Because the other recipe requires more bauxite for the same amount of ingots, could be one reason
Saving on quartz cones with a price. :)

I also got to make an underground train station for it
#screenshots message
I have a bug that I need assistance for, is there a place to discuss bugs?
is it actually a bug or is it pipes
how do I transfer water via pipe in a large distance? my water pipes are almost empty after a while despite having pumps
you can bug report on their website.
turn off all the machines at the other end that's recieving water and let the pipes build up.
liquids move better if pipes are full.
thanks! didnt know the game had this physic
pipes follow some basic physics rules.
They like to follow gravity, and basic ideas of water pressure apply.
outside thatj ust make sure you know how headlift works (and also your input output numbers just like belts) and you'll be fine.
True
But like… to much work for saving on bauxite
anyone else kinda wish you could pull on the rays whiskers while riding him to direct him a bit
they're floating right back towards ya like handle bars....
would make exploring on them more fun
Is there no way to put stackable poles on pre-existing belts?
Bit difficult since they're flat on the ground. Looks like more work for me. yay.
beauty is pain
Lot of good info on this here https://satisfactory.wiki.gg/wiki/Tutorial:Train_throughput
Should I use 2m or 1m ramps for going downhill with trains?
both should be fine I think its the 4m that is slow going up
since when power storage has 2 connection points? i always though it was only 1 like the rest of the buildings
I might be mixing it up, is 4m too steep for rail?
Basically try to use one most of all and use two only if necessary.
I think since its electrical its more like the lights with multiple points
Never even tried 4, 2 slows doen enough as it is
you can use extra engines but its a bit unreasonable
pull a Factorio train setup ... 4 train engines and 10 containers
Trains can handle 4 meter just fine
yeah im thinking about sticking to the same rule of same size trains as last save, but want to do longer ones
that might actually look really cool too, two trains on each end
the issue with having multiple engines on a side is needing to accomodate space at the stations for it.
yeah as long as all my trains are the same though I can plan for it ahead of time
u can do the trains in each end but if i recall its kinda of a nightmare of a setup
its when I start trying to add cars and stuff that I start having issues with signals and jams
functionally it shouldnt matter where they are and how they face
I think you just need the one on each end, it doesnt even have to ever be bi-directional
Is half a foundation enough spacing between each line?
they add power backwards
the space between signals should be longer than your longest train.
Should increase it to 1?
do 1
Alr
im mostly trying to prevent having to tear down stations later on, I had to in my first save
on my last save, I went overkill with avoiding train collissions and made left turns incredibly hard to make.
my trains would have to make a right turn and a u-turn in order to turn lft.
Or vice versa
#design-and-architecture message
can't say I ever got a chance to test it under high traffic conditions.
So if my blueprint designer storage system where does all the excess materials go?
Is it in a dismantle crate
How do I organize my factory
by planning it
Darn
and covering the world in concrete (foundations)
Make a design, plan it awhile... execute, make mistakes, learn from it
I know I'm going to drive myself crazy doing it, but I guess tomorrow after work I'm going to work on building a railway from Blue Crater to Grassy Plains.
As some one who built a railway from the dune desert
To the rocky desert, to the plains
use blueprints where you can
pre set up intersections you want to make
Railway supports
that sort of thing
It will save you a lot of time.
your gonna go insane
I have never used blueprints in my 192 hours, so I guess this will be an interesting time to try.
my railway+highway project was also the first time I used blueprints.
It saved me a lot of time.
(and yes... that railway was also a car highway.)
rail blueprints are awesome
For the longest I thought blueprints were like, on some server and you saw ones from multiple players. I didn't realise it was per person.
does ammo count if its in a dimensional depot?
it's per save actually
if you have multiple saves, your blueprints will only exist in the save you made them in.
You can symlink the blueprint folder each save creates back to a single folder and the blueprints will co-exist between saves
works great when you edit blueprints in a creative mode game to use in other games
how much items can a train with 4 freght cars transfer/m?
per train car
slightly less than the max throughput of the 1-2 belts you put on the input/output.
Aso depends heavily on the distance the train has to travel (and return)
anyone noticed you can go at supersonic speeds now when slide jumping?
Yea it's fun
How new? Didnt notice anything the other day
Like I know it changed with 1.0 or update 8
I'm pr etty sure it's a 1.1 change.
i think the top speed is faster or something, after like a half dozen hops its really fast
its faster than trucks im pretty sure
Hmm
Then again I havent really been using it, hypertube cannons and hoverpack ftw lol
it's absolutely faster than trucks
unless you're going up a steep hill
Its new, it had a lower cap in 1.0, slide and jump is crazy fast now
The devs probably are keeping it in because its funny, I fully support not patching it BTW lol
Interesting. Best movement tech out there.
Speaking of trucks, is there any way to copy other saves truck routes? One would think its saved somewhere
Slide jumps been a thing since well before full release. Its definetely an actual feature not a bug. Community would rebel
yes, you can save and load truck routes
but you have to actually save them.
completing a route and letting a truck run isn't saving it's route.
you also cannot use tractor routes on trucks and vice versa
No, like if I wanted a route you have in your world
oh, yea i'm not sure if that works.
Yes but it was not this fast in 1.0
Only thing that would make me use trucks is if I could copy other peoples routes lmao
Its a feature to be sure, but it being so much faster is new for 1.1
look i'm sure you can probably save edit to get a truck route but there will be issues with it.
Since, it's almost guaranteed that the world isn't 100% the same between saves.
Exact truck stop locations, foundations they drive over
Trees removed that they would try to drive thorugh.
it's really not that hard to set it up on your own though.
Easily fixed by not saving or making stops invalid, trucks already adapt to changing environment like trees and foundations by teleporting back to the route. So no real problem there that wouldn't be solved by moving a node or two.
Doesn't really matter though, was kinda just hoping someone knew of a folder similar to how blueprints are saved. Would be a more advanced used of it anyway.
nuclear hogs are easy
build foundation platforms in the air above them
ANd then drop nobolisk explosives onto them until they cease
is there a new bug that make belts not straight?
idk if the devs added rare reloads like CoD or if you throwing the rebar gun on the ground to reload is a bug
phase 4/aluminum time
building style curve
i was using straight more belting from foundation corners to corner but it would veer off to the right and the snap back to the pole
is there anyway to automatically apply a color shade to a certain item when placed?
like i want my belts to always be this shade and mergers to be this one, etc?
Brooooo
That was absolutely fucking crazy
The swamps are a fucking nightmare holy shit
I swear there is but I cant remember the bindings
Its like...right click on the swatch or the building type or something?
I know ive seen some sort of popup for "save this 'xxxx' in hotbar" related to coloring
active swatch?
on the swatch but it does it for foundations and stuff like tht
Youcan set colors for a few broad categories, but basically all machines are one category.
and pipes
I swear theres a way to save it to hotbar.
oh you can i was just hoping to skip having to go back through everything to paint it
setting this swatch as overall standard should cut down on it at least
The game almost gave me a heart attack so many times
thanks guys, this will increase my efficiency by at least 6.37%
I did it accidentily with foundations or something a few days ago might be worth going through the menus right clicking on things lmao
Like bro, spitting nuclear hogs, uranium deposits, hatchers, giant spiders, spitters, mega spitters, fart rocks and fart flowers
EVERYWHERE
And there is no armor in this game
these mk6 belts are my favorite thing ever
So a couple of hits and your out
Thats why you keep nuts or inhalers on you
does anyone have experience with floodlight towers/lighting in general?
Now I need to find a way to destroy the uranium deposits near the bauxite node
Kinda whatcha need
Can I use bombs for this?
do they work for you
What are they doing?
so ive been playing for 12 hours and have coal power setup but keep rebuilding my factory lol
On the plus side I got like 200 dna capsules and 120 powershards from this
Having used in 1.1 but I wouldnt think they would break that easily lol
probably just because i found out because of world grid
But lessons learned, I’ll keep 2x more rifle ammo on me and I’ll research enhancers
Nope, you have to hand mine them. Hope you’ve got a radiation suit!
for me, nothing, I plug them in, the top bit changes colour, but there is no light on the ground
hey uh noob question maybe. my cat stepped on my keyboard and now there's a chat box on my screen, and it's kinda stuck there? escape and such don't get rid of it
anyone know what button to hit
enter
no dice
… are you serious?
Dont need it but have you tried hooking it up to a light control panel?
Damn
like i can play the game but it's just floating there. weirdness
So from full health how many can I mine?
Honestly, just wait until you have radiation protection
||None|| try it and find out 😉
Yea but I need aluminum.. like right now
Any radioactive item in your inventory confers the max possible radiation damage; it's hard to stay on top of it even with inhalers
For now just avoid 'em. :)
yeah, occasionally one will work after pressing a random combination of buttons, but then the other ones won't work
since then I've relaunched game, now none of them work lol
even after random button pressing
So I’ll need to find a different node
Got any #screenshots of the setup?
Includint control panel
Yeah, there's a lot of bauxite on the map
Otherwise sounds like something youll have to post in #1038092680493801533
If the uranium isn't actually blocking the node, you can just run in, slap down the miner, and then run out
they are in a cave right now, could be hard to see, but I will try
why does the explorer feel so much worse now that they updated?
Can also take advantage of the increased interaction distance while parachuting
Shouldnt be that hard to throw a miner down from a distance and hook it up quick without touching the radiation
well, i suppose i mean from like u8 but still, it feels weird
how do you farm dna is it only from killing mobs?
Yep. Sloop the remains and the dna
The place with a lot of islands and rivers is the swamp right? It’s all like this
its like it has huge turbo lag
Yeah, radiation doesn't really hurt until it's near max; so long as you don't get too close it's usually pretty tankable
So I was in the titan forest.. not the swap
If its really bothering you otherwise you could pick it up into an empty inventory and scim the crate
Sir you are a genius
Like bro, I just need to find a save haven and build my train station there
Real
Way up in the sky so no one bothers me
Kinda cheating and i really do suggest just waiting till you can deal with it with filters and a suit but.. If you must
make a platform above it all away from the radiation
I haven’t even found the forest or swamp but to be fair I haven’t explored half the map yet
sent one
the actual swamp is kind of easy to find.
it's just east of the plains starting zone.
What do I need to make filters and gas max once I have them unlocked
you'll want to research how to make fabric from oil products so you can automate filters.
otherwise radiation based filters unlock at the appropriate tier with uranium and stuff.
how cheaty is no fuel setting in ags?
What research tree is that
I mean it IS cheating.. but its frustrating to always be getting out and putting more coal in my car
mycelia
are you at steel tier yet?
si
I need geyser how do I get that
The real question is: do you care if it's cheating?
I always wondered how but I never got any
It's your own game, play it however you like, etc. :)
ive unlocked everything in tier 1-4 except some stuff from a mod
then why not research alien technology in the MAM and just have biofuel constantly uploading to your cloud storage?
the only mod is a zoop mod
mycelium is something you get by chainsawing mushroom like things.
Ohh
biofuel?? but then i have to actually gather it
you gather it once
Dump it into a box
And let an automated setup produce tons and tons of solid biofuel
which is contantly uploading to the dimensional depot thaty ou can pull from at any time.
That’s a task for future me, tomorrow I’ll build the train station, aluminum production and unlock the gas masks and filters
Btw hazmat suits are for radiation right?
yes
Gas masks are for the fart rocks
yes
But you also need radiation filters
i need to figure out that dimensional depot thing, its new
Are they unlocked in the nuclear tier?
Mercer spheres, alien technology in the MAM tree, and SAM
You unlock everything you need to survive radiation in nuclear tier yes, but crafting radiation resisting filters requires the normal filters, so you'll want to research mycelium so you can, well have the base gasmask firstly, and turn oil into fabric for the filters so you can automate it as well.
you should go visit the red jungle, it looks reaally cute there and there's a lot of mycellium
Anyone know how to vertical nudge I see the option but when I do page up or down like it says it still just nudges it forward
Alr got it
Is it the pink one?
yea, the one way high west, near the beaches and oil fields
it's also worth saying that a lot of plants that give mycelium can actually look like oddly shaped rocks.
Before I sink all this time into the resesrch tree I’ll try placing the miner from far away and belt the outputs over
But then I can’t OC it…
I’ll probably need a couple of suicide runs to OC it right
do splitter settings persist when using blueprints?
I’ll start looking for them
i.e. should i have 2 blueprints saved one for copper and one for iron where the splitters have which output should have what
or just any/overflow/any so that its universal?
Unless you're trying to sort individgual items in a system, gennerally speaking, any and overflow account for most cases.
does it persist with blueprints?
Blueprints remember splitter settings
perfect! thank you
Do trains lose speed on 2m ramps?
not much
I will say once you can make them, you dont need many to take care of something like that, so you dont need a fully automated factory, just a few filters.
But you will eventually need automation
they'll loose a tiny bit of speed on any incline. but it's not much (unless it's like 4 meter slopes and you have a bunch of cars or something)
And you can't exactly stop it so it's nothing to worry about.
Kind of like packaged fuel then, neat
I’m keeping a 4 cars per locomotive limit
I’ll run 2 trains probably
I mean if you're only going for 2 meter inclines max, you can use a few more if need be.
and you can always add a second train engine
or third.
or five.
is it even possible to go much more than 2?
limit is like 2.4 right?
For whatever its worth, you only need 5/min per person to never run out
I thought it was 4 meter inclines.
