It could be really precise for some things like saying the name of the passive and in between parenthesis the skill tree while just mentioning if it comes from stats or equipment, tho i would apreciate it if it also mentioned the equipment and stats specifically
This would also help a bit to teach players that some pieces can give global resitances like rings, amulets, belts and capes
Yeah would be useful for stuff like foods where I just have to pray they're working
not sure the game really keeps track of all that
I mean how are the stats applied then? 
things are applied for a duration
but not sure the game knows where it came from, once it's applied

Its not like the game would just forget where everything came from 
as far as i know darkness has an icon that shows the debuff so id asume thats how most if not all effects are counted as, with an invisible buff that isnt shown but the game keep tracks of
basically more stats and tooltip info please
Most tooltips are already perfect imo, str and bp are the ones that still bug me out since they dont mention the influence of the weapon bp coheficient
in green text it could say it's coming from permanent sources like gear, and in yellow it could be for temporary sources like skills, something like that
