No one is complaining about being Pked lately, just you. Blurr got killed by a former guildie who doesn't pk in general so probably just saw a unique opportunity or maybe some hidden beef. No need to keep your complaint going. I don't even understand some what you are saying anyways. If you are for a pve toggle, then why are you talking about a dungeon debuff on PK death. How could a PK kill you if you turned on the PVE toggle? As for people that would "come back", we already debunked the point of a 100% safe "Trammel" being what players need as evidenced by Fractured game going from 1500 to 20 players. I dislike the idea of a PVP becoming a toggle since it goes against the roots of the OG UO experience of full loot, full pvp. HOWEVER, I have already expressed a PVP toggle would be the RIGHT idea if the server were to continue going down the path of the extreme anti - PK ideas laid on Trello. Because at that point, the server has become DE FACTO consensual PVP in all but name with the harsh changes/penalties. Lastly, I'll leave it at this - with a PVE only toggle, all resource gain, all monster loot, all rares should be only be 25% of what it would be normally to account for the lack of real risk.

Make game trammel except for bottom level of dungeons. Add special, worthwhile, bosses to bottom levels. Remove all pk restrictions. Everyone wins
i would just go out and enjoy the game. there are tools given in previous patches that almost no one uses to avaoid/fight back. The few pk that play this server are not on all day. I personally pvm more than anything on this server
I dont play my friend, I cannot, for the reasons stated above, things have changed for me, I just cannot maintain 100% focus on the game anymore, and in not being able to do so, I cannot play the game the way it should be played - fully immersed in what youre doing in game. That's just me, I'm just throwing out A, reasons for why the player count is so low, and 2, potential options to suit both wolves and sheep. If you see my toons paperdoll in Trading, youll see that I actually PKd on the server when I played, BUT, unlike a typical red, I was able to not kill all the time for a few reasons, I liked the player, or I just wasnt in the mood to take from someone, so I never really progressed down the lines of being a full red. I am ok with whatever happens here, again, my own 2c. I've had more convo's on this subject in this discord than youve had days in the game, and all I've learned is that red and blue players are totally different, and keeping both happy is an almost impossible task that only few games achieve. I really like the PVE on LoU, I cannot enjoy it, this makes me sad, ergo, I'd happily pay for the honor.
I agree, the PK ideas on trello are very strong and maybe they will have an impact, but again, those trello suggestions are completely redundent unless a blue logs on to fight a red. So theyll have no impact unless people fight back.

the last person to PK me was Macky back in 2020. I do not get pked, often, I am actually pretty good. I am not complaining for myself. More so for the 30 guild members I used to have playing this game that no longer play due to my reasonings.

Its not that, I cannot maintain 100% focus, this leaves me vulnerable, and if youve played long enough, you know its not reds you need to worry about, I was attacked and dropped more blues that attacked me than reds tried lol.

irrelevent when I'm afk, it doesnt change anything. If im at hte screen i 95% survive, totally depends on whom im fighting, but if im afk, doesnt matter if they go purple and you announce it to the server, i come back without stuff.

I want to be able to leave my toon in the middle of a forrest in Yew for 25 mins, and 100% come back alive after ive either dealt with work, or family. This is not possible here, is on other games. I am ok playing the other games, again just letting the team know why from everyone that played in 2020, probably 15% play today.
You might have had a better SELL on it when you left it at PKs BAD instead of adding in you want to leave your toon AFK for 25 mintues in game and not die. That might actually hurt your cause

Not sure I'm getting thru to you. I am fine in game, Id be a decent fight for you, I can recall before you can get to me for sure. It was quite funny when someone got my head, it didnt happen often so was displayed in the discord PVP chat. I am not having this convo for myself in that regards, when attentive, I'm fine. That is what has been removed from my life, the ability to sit and stare at nothing but this screen while im playing.

write me a script that injects recall on seeing any blue or red onsite, and it would probably be ok.

You can kill the hardest mobs in this game naked. You can afford 100 pts for 99% pk avoidance. Geeeeeez
Maybe a real life example will help you envision what I'm saying. In 2020 I had the luxury of turning on my computer at work, and pretty much doing whatever I wanted for 8hrs while still being able to do my job at a solid level. This allowed me to play LoU, A LOT, and I could be attentive at all times while playing without much risk of any interuptions. Since then, I've taken the next step in my career and now people walk into my office when something needs signing, this can be twice a day, or twice an hour. There are times now where im logged into LoA and someone comes in and I can alt tab no issues, deal with that person for 15 mins then come back and carry on. I am happy where I am. But, Id also enjoy the PVE on LoU if given the chance.
you can probably put hiding on a toon and shit a button and afk for a bit and be safe ost of the time

I used to be the same as you SLIME when I started on LoA then moved to LoU, not a full on red, but very supportive of the red gameplay and their involvement in the game, but then I started to see my friends leave and then more leave, and then more leave, to the point now if I log on and run around, I wouldnt know anyone. Why is this? Surely there has to be a way to retain these players. I am asking these questions now. Funny that.
If you can find a way to make a PK and a PVEr happy, without saying "do this work around" or "just deal with it and play" or "its safe now", I am all ears. I only see the toggle as an option. But, if adding a PVE Toggle has the potential to destroy Shards of Britannia, then it shouldnt be added, I agree.
It comes down to what makes the game. I want OG UO. You want Trammel. Nothing really different then the ago old argument. Just go find a shard or game that has Trammel and you will be happy I think.
Who knows, maybe one day I'll get the time again and can come back and play.

I think its more like this - they want to log onto a game with 100% knowledge they will not lose any of that limited time they use to play games with.
and remember, all these people ARE gaming, they have found a game to play with their limited time. They all said they would use that time on LoU, if the above was met.
For some reason the PK believe its the pixel asset loss that upsets blue players, it is not that, it is the time to reset and go again after dying to a pk. Time is much more valuable.
if a guild of 50 people started playing this game. i am pretty sure they can do what ever the hell they wanted lol. a guild of 10 people can probably do anythign they wanted as well.
they now also have quick load out boxes available in game. not too long to reset.
Im sure if those 50 all logged on at exactly the same time youd be right. But what about 30 guild members that all live in different parts of the world where only 3-5 are logged on at any time and many are dealing with real life so they cannot commit to doing anything that puts their toon at risk.
So in reality it is still only 1-2 players actually active. You must understand the niche of this game to understand the people that play it.

Your answer is a PVE toggle. I refute that. Outlands is a huge player base with less restrictive (now) red restrictions with a big player base. Fractured has a 100% Trammel land with less player base now (LOL) then SoB. The best part is - you don’t even play the game asking for all this.

Problem is you might have to devote a lot of time to it cause the PKs don’t spend a lot of time playing

I started in September. There's admittedly a bit of a hurdle for new players, but nothing that can't be powered through if you really enjoy the game. I made it to the point where getting PKed hardly bothers me. I think the new changes in the pipeline will help new players, but I wouldn't want to see much more than that.
