But the additional Punctures are fired by your Shadows, not you & we know that skills from Shadows can hit the same target.
Probably not
alright, thanks
now the question is whether the aoe node actually increases the aoe when used with a bow or if its melee only
cause it has no visual indicator
also
weirdly enough it does not say shadows on the tooltip
it uses "mirages" instead
if your build hits a lot, am i correct in assuming most times penetration is not worth it? as you could invest in shred to easily out-do that effect.
example, i am a lightning build. if i get a TIER 7 lightning pen affix on my amulet, that can easily be replicated by just 3 hits for shred on an enemy... (or 8 hits on a boss)
moreover, the effect nearly becomes negligible if you can manage 20 stacks in 3-4 seconds on a boss (2% x 20 = 40%.. dwarfs 15%). and thats with the exalted mod, the t5 is just 9% pen...
any thoughts on this?
i guess it can be marginally better than inc dmg if you already have 700% in cdmg
at that point i feel investing in utility prefix on ammy would be better..
Unlike shred though, pen can actually make an enemy take more damage of that damage type. So if the enemy has 0% resistance, shred doesn’t do anything, but 10% penetration will make the enemy take 110% more damage.
In general terms, shred is typically better, but penetration does help.
Depends whether the incremental benefit of the 9% pen is more than the incremental benefit of an additional 70% increased damage (compared to the total of all your relevant % increased damage).
Shred & pen are the same type of effect, shred will make a mob go below zero resist (since the vast majority of mobs don't have resist).
Also, 10% pen wouldn't make the target take 110% more damage.... They would take 10% more, or 110% of the incoming damage.
Apologies, in my example I was equating 0% resistance to 100% damage taken of that damage type not taking into consideration any other defenses (I.e. armor)
all g i know what u meant :)
So if shred can go into negative values, why have penetration, outside of having a mechanic that can technically take a resistance into negative after shred since pen is after resistance
ig it can still be meaningful.
example, if you manage to get 10% pen, on 40% shred, then that brings from 40% more dmg to 50% more dmg... which is a 25% more dmg modifier...
sorry thats dumb
its a 7% more dmg modifier
its something... 🤷♂️
I’m also 100% still waking up this morning, so I’ve probably looked over or can’t recall situations where it is extremely useful
Edit: Looks like pen from skill trees can affect ailments applied by said skill unless specified as on hit, I also suppose pen is nice in that it’s not an ailment mechanic like shred is
how many hits per second do you guys think you can get with flurry / multishot shotgunning a dummy
wish i could calc that kind of thing -_-
Variety. Why have 7 different damage types? Why have so many different types of defenses (resist, health, ward, dodge, block, glancing blow, endurance, % reduced damage taken, etc)?
Hello there. Have a question about blade dancer: I'm building poison shuriken build with acid flask, shift, decoy and probably smoke bomb (did not unlock last 2 specialization yet so have time to choose). And I face some serious mana issues. That is the part of character building, no complaints there. But I just cannot figure out what options I have to deal with it. Obviously I can craft mana and mana regen, and there is one node in shurikens that low their cost by 3 for 3 points but I also want to get another node that will raise cost by the same 3 mana so that would not help me at all. Is there any skill I can look into? Or maybe I overlook something in smoke bomb tree that will give me some mana?
first thing i would try is going trough all skill trees and search for "mana". same with your class passive skill trees. all off them.
and then maybe open a loot filter rule and look trough "rogue class affixes".
not really answering your question, i know. but maybe you find something.
Yes, and I think I just did. The main mana drain is shurikens skill. It actually does not have that big mana cost, I just spam it. And I just find that ballista affix should actually solve my problem - It lowers throw skills cost by flat amount, on t2 it will lower for 3 mana I think and that should be just enough for my mana regen to keep me positive even in long fights.
does the +flat physical bow damage add/convert to lightning with detonate arrow?
both implicit and the the ones from prefix
Yes, that's what the skill says.
no it doesnt
it only says bow damage
so wasn't sure if PHYS was excluded
if it's all bow damage then even fire damage gets converted?
so i can put flat fire damage and it will convert? thats pretty op
It does, "all added bow damage is converted to lightning".
Added damage is flat damage
thats amazing thank you
If it's only converting a specific element to a different one then it will say so.
Like "all added fire damage is converted to lightning"
yo llama. you know if the "quality" of affixes on idols is related on item quality drop?
like, if it's more likely to 12% or 17%.
looking at dozens and hundreds of idols just to see everything be shit. and sadly it appears not possible to add this into loot filter rules.
If an idol is more likely to drop a better roll on an affix from a high item quality monolith? Not a clue, could go either way.
But I doubt that higher IQ monos would be more likely to drop "useable" idols (ie, idols with "matching" affixes.
affixes type probably random i would say. just the quality of the roll is what makes me wonder. or they are generally more likely to be "bad".
Is there a way to change the color between runes and shards from the loot filter?
i wish it would
anyone know if i can take the converted crit multi on bleed effectiveness with salt the wound
heh
Plus I don't think there's anything that converts bleed effectiveness
off the top of my head
yea makes sense
was thinking about using this with it
but ur just gonna have frostbite with bleed effectiveness unconverted
hi all, ¿exist a way to turn off shadows and ambien oclussion?
How long does it take more or less for a support ticket to be responded to?
how do i measure 10 metre in game?
how many metre are we talking about when we say "nearby"?
The circle around the training dummy is close.
"nearby" depends on a skill/condition, it varies from 4 meters to 10-12
I just got to the monolith for the first time, what's the best way to approach using the monolith? Clear condition as fast as possible and move up? Or is it clear out the maps then move on?
Good to know. Thanks!
One more question, is there any reason to farm the endless arena other than for leaderboard pushing? I can't tell if the rewards can even be good enough for me to care before pretty high level.
arena is also supposed to be good for fast levelling but you need a build thats good for it. aside from that its pretty much only leaderboards, yeah.
hey do yall prefer smite void knight or like void cleave/erasing strike? ive tried both and i think smite scales better
but erasing strike seems more satisfying, just not sure about its viability
i think hammer throw smite scales the best, but id say play what you have more fun with.
if going for the most optimal build is the most then smite hammer throw.
ah ok, honestly my preference for power is just "good enough" so if erasing strike is good then ill do that
Hey guys, I have a couple of weird questions. I got into Last Epoch recently, created my first character and I'm currently following boardman's Void Knight Warpath guide, approaching level 70. The build is really fun, works great, but I'm trying to get my head around gearing in this game.
I already learned some stuff about crafting, got the hang of the whole stability and fracture thing. Dunno how to go about upgrading my items tho. Coming from PoE I'm terrified that I cant even cap my resistances ;d
How do you generally gear a brand new character? How do I know if the items I dropped are good enough to spend my materials on? And what should be my priorities?
The loot filter helps a ton to filter out the best items for my build but I still doesn't get why it shows certain items. Half of the stuff I pick up seems unusable, just combinations of a good affix with couple of bad ones.
Sorry for the long post and a lack of clear questions but I'm looking for a guidance in terms of gearing ;d I understand the endgame, skills and passives, but I don't really see a progress path for my items.
oh my gosh... who can save me from merged stash tabs? T.T
Specifically this post: https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/stash-category-duplicate-need-to-manually-modify-a-file/40684
Gave up, couldn’t fix it after editing the file
I really like this guide the LizardIRL has, you really want to try to derive your defenses from base implicits, passive points, and blessings as much as possible and then fill in the gaps with your gear
Watch me live:
https://www.twitch.tv/lizard_irl
In this video I go over how to cap your resistances with very low investment!
Hope it helps!
hi, does someone know if the game will be translated in french for the full release ?
(and when it will be fully released ? there is written 2021 on internet, if anyone has further information)
I believe they are interested in localizing games in various languages , but it will probably be after launch when they are finished with the campaign.
There are also certain keywords for mechanics they want to make sure can be translated properly as intended. Such as added, increased, and more with damage. Each have a specific meaning in the game and a particular order when it comes to calculating damage. So if you get those incorrect on translations, it can lead to a lot of confusion
thx 🙂
Interesting, appreciate the link, I'll check it out tonight!
Le jeu sera traduit dans les langues des pays où il y a le plus de joueurs. Le Français est parmi les plus probables, je pense 😉
ça marche merci 🙂 @cloud kindle
does darkstride only drop in spirits of fire?
it can drop everywhere, but empowered Spirits of fire often had echo node with unique or set boots as reward
can you equip anything on your second hand slot while two-handing a sword? like bow users can use a quiver in that slot even though the bow is two-handed
was just wondering cause the slot doesn't seem grayed out
not common enough apparently :(
Common doesn't mean it drops so frequently you'll have more pairs than Imelda Marcos.
No
ty
shouldn't this icon mean that the ability is capable of dealing void damage?
the bottom one
i don't see any nodes that have anything to do with void in the smite tree
i see some lightning nodes
class passive tree has a node
sometimes it can be an item too
oh ok
whats the biggest thing to get on gear if i'm dying in early monoliths (level 75)
assuming just flat health
or would that woven flesh thing be good for the crit immunity
hybrid health?
oh that does seem good lol
https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/9QnjmVQ0 can someone help me determine why im zdps on level 75 lagon
get Hybrid Helth - https://www.lastepochtools.com/db/suffixes/AAwZgbEA gloves, belt, boots. Get %Armour on Helmet. One affix of 'chance to apply frailty on hit ' helps a lot . usually on amulet, relic .
800 armour is way low
you have too many resists overcapped? That is not needed. 75 is enough in most cases. Focus on other stats of defence
thanks!
Would "on hit" effects be applied by void rift?
Yes, anything that hits
Hello, could you please clarify how exactly mob's penetration works?
Does penetration ignore overcupped resistances and is applied against basic resistances (up to 75%) or the penetration takes into account overcupped resistances values? For example I have 125% fire resistance in total. If the mob has 75% penetration will it be applied against 75% of fire resistance or against 125%, i.e. the fire damage dealt by the mob will be against 50% of fire resistance?
You can only protect against 75% of mob damage at all times. At level 75, capped res results in taking nominal damage, and at level 100 you take +25% damage. Overcap is useful against shred (and shock or poison).
Also Death Mark.
But that's not a very common condition.
I think lightning, necro, phys, and maybe poison/void are the only resists to consider overcapping. There are more sources of poison damage now, but it often comes in the form of a dot if it's going to be giving the poison stats. The rest are either shock or common sources of Death Mark/shred.
No, the area-level penetration that mobs get is capped at 75%. In a lvl 100 zone you'd take the same damage as you would in a lvl 75 zone.
Your uncapped resist is modified by any shred stacks/Mark for Death you have on you, then it's capped at 75% then the mobs area-level penetration is applied (which is also capped at 75%).
So if you have 100% resist, 2 stacks of resist shred (-8% resist) in a lvl 100 zone, you'd still be capped (100% - 8% = 92%, capped to 75%)
do void spell builds like this staff? or is giving up the block from the shield too much of a cost
oh it looks like mine is very poorly rolled
that's unfortunate
Very thanks. I thought so, and it was described in the game, but I needed to get confirmation from the outside in order to finally calm down.
It turns out that there is no special benefit from the overcap of resists. If the character for the endgame is correctly builded, of course.
If u build correctly, -25% resist no strong affect damage to you.
I'd overcap lightning by up to 40
Act9 energy elementals apply instant 20 shock stacks to you
This is - 40 lightning res
Yes, but luckily they are not common.
And you forget how shock works on players. Less 60% effectiveness on players.
Oh, its my fault. You right. But it's not common mobs.
No
does this item work to reduce warpath's mana cost? it's channeled so i'm not quite sure
i can't test because my warpath already costs 0 without it and i don't wanna respec
but if it did work to reduce it then i'd wanna respec
I think it does? but it's generally not something you'd want to use other early game until you get access to the Argent Crest base at level 58
oh
i'm not level 58 yet so idk what argent crest is lol
i assume it does the job better?
it's 30-45 cold res and 30-45 lightning res
no
oh
well i'm not particularly struggling with cold/lightning res so i don't see a need to swap to that
it just saves you two suffix slots on resists, making it the most affix efficient base to use
but i'm using warpath as my main skill, so having it cost 0 is very important to me
reducing its cost by -3 saves 2 points on the warpath tree
which is also pretty nice i think
that is, if it works
I'm pretty sure it does, but using a non-resist implicit relic means you need to cover ~80% resists on gear, so you're losing like...200-300 hp and stressing your suffixes more when it comes to capping endurance, crit avoidance, etc.
what is the endurance cap?
60%
is it very important to cap that?
i never really got past level 50 so idk what lategame really looks like
i see
i was more focused on just capping all my resistances then raising my armor as much as possible
didn't really think about endurance or crit avoidance
you can cap endurance with gloves (15% implicit on Engraved base) and empowered blessing (25% or better roll) or you can use suffixes for it most efficiently on rings, though it's available on a lot of slots
if you're a paladin, you can get endurance % in the passives too
and that would save you suffix or needing the gloves if you have a 26% or better empowered blessing roll
is there any way to get my endurance threshold up? and is there a cap to it?
do people generally worry about getting the endurance threshold up or only the actual endurance stat
It's not a major concern during the early part of the game where you're still doing the story, though. Maybe once you start getting to the Heorot stuff around 48 you'll need to care about defenses a little.
i'm level 56 right now. first character i got this far
there's endurance threshold suffixes and a blessing, there's no cap. Generally, people ignore threshold entirely, as you naturally get 20% of your max hp as threshold
so stacking more hp ends up being more efficient than using suffixes for threshold affixes
outside of very specific builds
i see
I think Primalist has a build where flat threshold is usable?
this is what my resistances look like rn. i guess i need to change my gear a lot
elemental resist is overkill cause i'm using the node that reduces my elemental resist by 30% when i'm spinning
You probably want to pick up some poison res for Majasa.
definitely
everything around this area is just vomiting poison on me lol
so i was looking to max that out
Are you DW or using a shield?
I was gonna say, there's a really convenient shield base for poison res if you just need something to cover.
i have a ton of useless affix slots rn so i just need to find some gear that i can put poison resist in
but i'm also quite frustrated at the crafting system
multiple times i find a good base roll
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gWE6xW8Xlw
I would suggest this video for when you get going into monoliths and endgame. It does a really good job I think of explaining the philosophy behind what I would call "suffix placement", that is, where it's best to have certain suffixes on your gear and the general concepts of trying to get your resists and defenses covered as efficiently as possible.
Watch me live:
https://www.twitch.tv/lizard_irl
HP basics that you should always keep in mind when building characters in Last Epoch:
Helmet:
Vitality
% Health
Chest:
Vitality
% Health
Belt:
Hybrid Health
% Health
Boots:
Vitality
Hybrid Health
Gloves:
Hybrid Health
Enjoy!
and then it cracks at 95% lol
Sweet, I like what I've seen of his vids. Efficiency is a good thing.
following the concepts in the video will let you cover your bases defensively while still fitting as much HP as possible
i'll watch that later when i'm doing monoliths
Oh, doesn't Sentinel have a passive or idol that converts poison damage into phys or something?
a small amount I think?
yeah ive seen some of those
but it feels awkward to use
feels like it'd be easier to just max out poison res instead
it's on body armor and helmets
Helmet and chest prefix.
but yeah, getting some poison res is definitely better than giving up a prefix for it imo
Yeah, especially since those slots have +skills most of the time.
so in general people value getting defensive affixes more than offensive ones?
like where do i make room to try to get offensive stuff
generally prefixes are offensive, suffixes are defensive
Vitality being a notable prefix exception.
^
i see
strength is kind of a defensive prefix too right? since strength increases your armor
yeah, attributes are all prefixes and are a bit hybrid in use
also what is "hybrid health", i haven't seen that in the game yet but a while ago i saw someone say its good to get
It gives flat and percent.
it's a suffix that gives a bit of flat health and a bit of increased health
Only available on a few item slots.
generally, increased health is the most important suffix to get on every available slot for it, then hybrid health
also
and you're building around trying to get all of those suffixes and getting resists/other suffixes on slots that can't roll those
since i'm doing a build where warpath is my main ability and it costs 0
i'm effectively always channeling, at least when i'm in combat anyways
so i can use the "all resistances while channeling" shard
that's pretty good right
Could be useful.
that one is pretty good yeah
should make it much easier to get resists
which mastery are you again?
void knight
i thought the spinny clones were cool so i went with it
it's a bit of an awkward situation though
i have the spin ability, which i'm using 100% of the time
and then i can get it to cast abyssal echoes while i'm spinning, which is nice
but then i have 3 other skill specialization slots that i don't know what to do with
cause i won't use the other 3 abilities lol
i picked smite just so i can blink to enemies, but thats about all im using it for
and i have 2 empty specialization slots and i have no idea what to do with them since i just spin all the time
anomaly and volatile reversal are both super strong for buffs
i can't understand what anomaly does and the more i try to read it the more it confuses me
devouring orb is super good for applying tons of resistance/armor shred stacks around you
what the hell does sending enemies to the future mean
normally, you use it and it just deletes enemies in that area for four seconds
then they come back
how do i make use of that
but the way it's generally spec'd out is to make it put a time bubble around you instead and give you a bunch of attack speed, crit, leech
you can use the unspecialized version to cancel some boss abilities
heyo will our progress in early access be carried into release?
Yes, but current progress is all on offline characters. You will still be able to play those offline characters going forward, but if you want to play online multiplayer you'll need to make online characters which will be separate.
offline and online can't mix, basically
awesome ;>
think i'm gonna spec for the time bubble then just to buff myself up
im debating to get it now or wait for sale ;>
the bubble, especially the leech nodes are super strong
and the devouring orb can be used to shred armor you said?
yeah, with the abyssal orbs nodes and the node to make it orbit you
you end up with a ton of these balls around you that hit enemies and puke out more balls
and each of those balls does a hit that can apply armor and resistance shred effects
well
my main concern with devouring orb is that it looks like its gonna devour my mana lol
wonder how i'm gonna sustain that
since whenever i'm spinning i can't regen mana
Magic. Duh.
volatile reversal is the general answer to mana sustain on basically all of the sentinel classes
but takes some getting used to
yeah
i guess that'd mean giving up smite. but i'm literally only using smite to blink to enemies and that's not really necessary
oh, anomaly costs no mana. that's pretty handy
I still want to test that on my FG winion build instead of Vengeance, but I really like some of the buffs it gives.
the time bubble nodes make it cost 20
nah
thats the node that makes the time bubble follow you
the time bubble node itself does not come with a mana cost
yeah, you kinda need/want that
yeah i figured
i guess this is gonna be my new build
hooray, actually using all my specialization slots
it does sound fun. i almost made my build around it
full builds based around it feel super good to me
but the spin was too cool
what do people get on the volatile reversal to buff themselves up?
i see one node for attack and cast speed, and one node for movespeed
seems about identical to what i was going to do lol
you can also put points in the node that makes it send you back further
sounds like this ability is going to take a while to get used to
yeah, I'd say it's one of the higher skill cap skills in the game
I think the time difference nodes take a lot of adjusting to.
reminds me of a similar ability in dota lol
but once you're practiced with it you can do some really cool stuff
does about the exact same thing
brings you back like 5 seconds and sets your position, health and mana to what it was
yeah
though that one you use like once every minute so its a bit easier to keep track of
sounds like i'm gonna be spamming this one which will melt my brain a bit
Melting baddies sometimes requires a sacrifice.
Yo so I made this helmet ages ago and recently came back. I could have sworn it was "full" when I made it
Why can I put another prefix on there?
ohh did the +%ele/gear get turned into endurance?
so they changed it from prefix to suffix which means this item is kinda bugged
was there a multiplayer progress update for the month of October put on the forum or talked about in a stream at all?
I know they were working on getting into the community play testers hands during october from the September update - but was just curious. 🙂 thank you in advance
Edit; also know the play test is slotted for 0.8.4
Anyone run this game on a comp that only hits the low requirements?
seconded... lovely skill to apply on hit stuff
Is it me or is the echoes on warpath a bit inconsistent?
What do you mean? If you need some help with it, I have made a lot of warpath builds in the past and know how it functions
is there some hotkey/command to drop items on the ground? (or perhaps drop everything in your inventory / current stash tab)
gets very tedious to drag-and-drop in batches.
you need to walk at least 4 meters before an echo can happen, other than that it’s just random how it happens. if you picked up all the nodes to increase echo chance in the void knight passive tree, they come out really often in my experience
so make sure to keep running
Is it possible to create a rule in the loot filter that will highlight loot that has rolled high?
Pour examplé
a Jade Amulet with max base stats?
So it'd be easier to find strong crafting bases?
Not possible yet
They have something similar to that on Poe that was just recent, so perhaps it's something that will come
Damn.. T5 increased CDR on helm is 14% and T7 is 19%... 🤒
When will the druid update drop? I cant find a date.
We don't know. Likely in December if they keep up their current/past cadence
I'm confused about abyssal echoes, so abyssal decay doesn't stack anymore, right?
I used to play abyssal echoes before they changed it
.?That's correct, it has a max stacks amount of 1, what are you confused by
That kind of sucks doesn't it? What's the point of getting the 0 cooldown passive?
I'm guessing it also doesn't stack if I get the fragility passive?
Furthermore, how come there are essentially 2 nodes that allow it to be cast at cursor, screaming rifts, which also allows it to echo, and dark torrent, which only allows it to be cast at cursor
This skill is confusing, man. esentially I get nothing by spamming it now
except maybe the void rift chance
If you’re gonna spam it it’s because you have a way to consume the dot with a hit that fast
Or because you’ve converted it to hit damage itself
I tried that hit damage passive. It sucks
The damage isn't good. I think it's intended for paladin
Nah, by default if you hit the enemy it consumes the dot and does the entire dot damage at once
I'm using it with devouring orb. It's okay. But the devouring orb activation is inconsistent
Are you using the abyssal orbs node? I found it quite consistent with that and the orbit node
and the devouring orb when it activates does the abyssal echoes damage
End up with 4-5 orbs around you each spitting out 3-4 abyssal orbs per second
Which does a ton of hits to consume abyssal decay and apply void resist shred
Oh, I didn't consider that
Yeah, I felt pretty good about the boss damage when I tried it like that earlier this patch
Used like... the node that makes it echo at cursor location and just maxed out duration
Used idols for void mana efficiency and more abyssal decay duration
You didn't go for time compression to remove cd?
No
I was only using it for single target, and was trying to stack a ton of multipliers into a burst window
Like anomaly 100% increased void damage taken and Reversal increased damage taken
I was getting to like 45-50k pops on Orobyss, 5 times per cast iirc
Can I ‘unspecalize’ a skill?
I kinda chose the wrong specialized skill earlier in the game
Yes, if you open the tree there's a respec button at the top right and if you click on that it'll give you the choice to unspecialize the skill or respec individual nodes. In both cases you need to relevel the skill, but it'll level up faster than it did originally assuming you're a higher level than you were when you originally specialised in the skill, because you'll be gaining xp faster.
Warpath sucks and so does the paladin -_-
Wow
https://youtu.be/hjbAJnTuRUw I beg to differ.
Warpath Paladin Flame Burst, Best Warpath Build In The Game As Of Patch 8.3e Last Epoch Build Guide
This build has definitely blown me out of the park, as I had 100% believed the cast on hit warpath was dead due to the nerfs to Volcanus warpath, sadly by ditching Volcanus the devs made an even greater monstrosity.
Last Epoch Build Planner (Bu...
does endurance seem kind of shitty to anyone else as a defensive stat. or am i doing my calculations wrong.
for example, t7 helmet endurance gives 30%. t7 health gives 24% increased..
For example- i have 2,000 hp. Threshold = 400. +30% endurance gives 120 EHP. +24% increased health competes with 120 EHP if I have a 500 health base... which you most likely have more than that. More likely 24% increased health is gonna give you like 200 hp... AND the increased hp increases your endurance threhold...
Bottom line, it seems both endurance and hp scale of HP... but HP just scales better. endurance seems kind of lackluster, is my thinking off?
That's pretty much what I noticed
I thought it'd be more like fortify/fortification from Poe
it just seems to me like something youd never want to invest in save for niche circumstances. but i could be doing some incorrect calcs, cause i've seen people say you should prioritize endurance..
No, it requires some investment, but if you can manage the threshold/your hp, it's an awesome defensive mechanic since it's not RNG based (like dodge & block) & it affects everything (unlike dodge, block & glancing blow).
Endurance is also makes regen/leech/life on hit more effective since you take less damage & likely have less hp so you regain your hp faster.
Endurance makes more sense for some builds/classes than others.
does this affect dots
It only affects Spirit Plague, not ailments (poison, bleed, etc) since ailments aren't spells & don't scale with spell damage.
ahh ok so spirit plague is affected by all increases to spell damage but the plague and poison would not be if i specced into those
thanks
Yes, though to complicate things, since Spirit Plague has the DoT tag, it'll also be affected by any % DoT damage (which will also affect your poison/etc)
true, didnt think about this one
also in case you werent aware, endurance reduces the damage you take to your health in the endurance threshold, no matter how much health you had when you took the damage
hey guys any news on the multiplayer ?
i.e. if you endurance threshold is 500, and your health is 1500, being hit when at max health for 2000 damage, will mean endurance applies to the 0-500 health, and you wont get one shot. Its not just something that only applies if you get hit while your current health is in the endurance threshold
!mp
!multiplayer
Multiplayer is still being worked on. Here's an update: https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/official-last-epoch-multiplayer-faq/42036.
@vestal heart
@dense remnant i read the September update but no new one
i was actually wondering about this - thanks for the clarification
Endurance is good because you basically never need to commit more than one T5 suffix to cap it and for that level of investment it's about the best you can do in terms of EHP gain.
and most of the time, you don't need to use any suffixes for it
You just need the engraved gloves implicit and the spirits of fire empowered blessing
and that timeline otherwise basically only has fire res shred, necrotic res shred, and armor while channeling as useful blessings
so almost every build can take the endurance blessing
I would never take the dodge blessing tbh
any build that can really use dodge is getting big dodge with basically no suffix/prefix investment
maybe suffixes on weapons
I see..
like...serpent strike, maelstrom, and any rogue that can stack dusk shrouds or use shift
Yeah, i get what you mean by that
I wouldn't really consider dodge for anyone else
Where can I find good build for this game please ?
the forum
it is the best way to find good builds ?
In terms of all damage sources across all skills? Not that I know of, most damage conversions are either skill based via a skill node or via a set/unique. There are some uniques that act similarly, Such as Maehlin’s Hubris gloves that converts bleed chance to ignite chance. But those are much smaller in scope in terms of the conversion.
How is the fps optimitazion in the game right now? running at like 110 fps on medium - high - very high with my rtx 360 ti
3060*
It’s something that they are continually working on. I will say that it’s probably the biggest drawback to the game, there can be some serious frame drops depending on mob and light particle density.
From my understanding, a lot of the optimization efforts are around CPU load, but optimization is a topic that any game that is more of a SaaS model will continue to work on throughout its life cycle
another question, in the lightning blast tree, it says it cant double cast if another skill casted it
but on the quadruple cast its only saying that its not working when channeled
ah nvm
can only quadruple cast if it hits with double cast
I have switched the left and right click to attack and move, however whenever i talk to an npc, or use anything left click i now do the basic attack as well. Is there a way to disable this or change it so it wont attack whilst im accepting quests?
hey do we have a date at all for .8.4
mid december
is there a solid way to keep my skeletons from dying to literally any magical damage
i have all the bone armor stuff
Have you tried giving them fancy hats?
Magical damage isn't a type of damage, you'll need to look at the damage type being done, and maybe consider minion resistances if you can find it and/or more health
Does flat phys affect bleed at all?
Melee/spell/X added Phys damage won't but increased physical % damage will
Like Amarathy said, ailment base damage is fixed, and thus isn’t affected by flat damage modifiers
I see, I ask because I dropped a bardiche with T6 flat phys and everything else on it is nice too
figures
You can always look at hybrid builds that scale melee Phys and bleed. They're typically less popular because it's harder to gauge your dummy dps without seeing big crits or the ailment tick rate but they definitely work and have heaps of support
saw these, and i am not sure, but what do i have to do to get leech from damage over time?
if a node gives 25% more damage to a spell (multiplicatively), does it affect the ailment the spell inflicts?
As long as it doesn't specify hit damage, yes.
You need generic leech (such as the Lich's mastery bonus & a passive that it has) or elemental leech (such as the nodes the Sorcerer has for fire/cold/lightning) to leech from elemental DoTs.
Does it say "more spell damage" or "more damage"? Even if it's a spell, generic more damage will affect ailments from all sources that spell inflicts. If it says "more spell damage" then that won't apply to ailments it inflicts, since those are not spells.
thanks
There's also some nice items that let you leech DoT like Avarice (elemental) and Valdyr's Chalice (bleed)
so about "more damage" again, if a spell casts another spell (say, rip blood casting blood splash, or void erasing strike casting void rip), if the 2ndary skill isn't mentioned, then it's not affected by "more damage" right?
In some cases. We're making an effort to make it more consistent so "subskills" are affected by the skill tree that cast them.
I see, thanks
Hi, a build that is similar to the path of exile cyclone builds?
@rugged grotto you got 2 choices
CoC Cyclone or just generic Crit Cyclone
theres also bleed cyclone

Are filters not cloud saved? Had to reinstall windows and everything, and my filters are gone
Nope, they are local
heck
I ended up emailing mine to myself when I changed computers/upgraded. Sounds like it is the same computer. There’s possibly one drive but I have never used that feature so I don’t know if it would be there or not or if it can even be uploaded automatically
I had a breakdown. No chance to save anything
Anyone know a reason the dryad jailer mobs in farwood does not have a mini health bar when all other mobs have one?
They're not enemies. They're hostile friends.
haha, I'd accept that if it was their ice shield summons that had no health bar but these do have it 🙂
Known bug.
Newbie question; Can a unique with a higher required level drop in a lower level zone?
EG: I want Omnividence, but Stolen Lance is level 62. Do I need to empower it first?
Yes, you need to be in a zone level that meets the requirement
Omnividence is also quite rare, so you could be at it for a long time
I see, Thank you! 🙂
do we know if stash tabs are gonna reset each cycle

does this lightning dmg gets converted to cold if i select the convert to cold node?
I have skeleton minions, how do I know if the fire damage bonus to minions works or not?
If they are archer minions, does fire damage serve them or not?
or does it only affect if the minion already deals fire damage on its own?
increased minion fire damage only applies if they have some source of fire damage already
added minion fire damage applies regardless
ok
skeleton archers I believe have a flame arrow skill, which does deal some base fire damage
by default it would be physical
their autoattacks deal physical damage yeah
anyone else noticing that all unique filter is failing for unique idols
I think even in ingame they're not truly the unique rarity?
they have the like blue-ish idol rarity still instead
wdym lol
Hmm maybe I’m misremembering. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen them have the normal idol rarity color somewhere
I'm having frame drops occasionally, usually once every other area. Any good solution for this?
No, you can't have a lvl 100 unique drop in a lvl 10 zone.
Hello there, i just started the game yesterday and im really loving it , i was wondering, is there "builds" to follow or it's as i want ? Because i spend points a bit randomly, can i still reset them later ?
you can reset all the points, the only thing you cannot reset is your ascendancy. You are able to complete story line by any build using crap gear, but if you want to push endgame you probably want to follow some build guide posted on forums.
Ascendency is like the spec ? (lich necro for me)
Same no worries haha
I have it too because of my cp throttling, cant do much aboit it
It could use some love.
Crit Lich is fine from my understanding but I know DoT lich got hit hard with the nerf hammer this last patch
Oh :c
To be fair, I did watch @brittle atlas absolutely destroy a 1000 corruption Orobyss with his build before the patch which is insane
Sorry if this has been asked a millions times but, where can i find builds ?
The link that Tunk provided, though his site, https://lastepoch.tunklab.com/ is an amazing resource as well, particularly with game/system mechanics!
Thanks you guys
Increases the duration and therefore total damage of abyssal decay applied by the skill abyssal echoes
ah okey. so its for vk. thanks 😄
never played vk so i have no idea of the names of vk skills haha
The tooltip damage generally seems accurate (which is great!) -- but with Ingvars's head and disintegrate I'm not sure if the 'spell critical damage' is accurate. Related question, is general crit also considered 'spell crit' for the same case with disintegrate? Because I add crit and it doesn't change the tooltip.
Yes, general crit chance affects everything that you do, spell crit only affects spells.
Crit multi won't affect Disintegrate, just crit chance.
It definitely seemed to on the training dummy, but if I add/remove gambler's fallacy or some other crit item the tooltip damage didn't change
If the tooltip's not changing then that's a tooltip bug, the most important thing is that the damage on the dummy changes as expected.

any update on a multiplayer release date yet? is it sapposed to be coming in 8.9?
anyone else got those items they're just afraid to craft on xd
can’t wait for item fracturing to go away
🤔 How balanced are the various end-game builds? I'm not sure if I just have a bad build but my summoner feels a lot worse than devouring orb
They can definitely vary.
I think that says more about Devouring Orb being a bit too strong than other builds being weak.
I've played a few more builds, I definitely think devouring orb is a bit on the strong side for lots of grouped enemies.
I also think Necromancer just feels..really weak without items, at least. Idk how it looks bis but of the 5 or 6 builds I've tried out now, Necro is definitely bottom of the ladder.
I'm probably just building it wrong, though. lol
Necro has a few strong builds, I’d say it is closer to middle of the pack. I really enjoy necro and it does have a lot of build variety that work well
Bottom of the barrel I’d probably argue would be DoT Lich, Druid (0.8.4 fixes that), Shaman for high end monos and build variety
have they thought about what if someone just makes a trade discord to serve as a more efficient bazaar. or are they already aware of that possibiliity
kind of like what happened with harvest crafts
i bet theyve thought about it but i wonder how it can be counter acted
Well as far as we know the only way to trade is via the random Bazar and being in the party when the item drops.
Yeah I don't think they're necessarily allowing direct trades
That being said I think having a short list of people (5-10) who you can trade with but that you need to wait 3 months to change or however long a cycle is.
you can't, the plan is you can only trade item dropped when you play together
Loot will be instanced so you won't even see anyone else's items.
It certainly feels that way, but idk if anyone has looked into it
maybe @fringe birch ?
it does

i need to press g more often
also the blue tags on skills and the ALT button when hovering over a skill and its nodes
oh i probably should unlock empowereds before target farming
hm so basically my goal is to like push out as far as possible to try and get vessels of chaos
and the reward refresh one which i have never seen
usually i push until i see a shade node with 12-14 corruption. If you find those then they are potentially worth saving after you have uncovered more of the web. Focus on beacons if you do find one so you can reroll more nodes.
Gotcha
I'd definitely just focus shades until 200 corruption
to help with farming out blessings
if your build can easily push further there's not much cost to pushing up to like 300-400
beyond that you'll probably start to lose some efficiency

Can somebody explain to me the abyssal echoes "impair the weak" node that does 5% of abyssal echo damage, or what it would have done over it's duration?
On hit*
Doesn't abyssal echoes already do damage on hit?
like it consumes the dot on the hit and does the full damage
so why would anybody take this node
Read the node before it "Fragility" and you'll likely understand
Is the release window for mp still "2021" or has that been delayed? Seems kind of glossed over in the monthly posts
Hello there! Please, can anybody explain me how work various increased damage sources? Example, skill Lightning blast. I can increase damage two ways(except flat damage and other ways): increased spell and lightning damage. Will these two different sources be multiplied between each other and base damage, or will both first summed up and then multiply base damage? I tried running tests on a dummy, but unfortunately the odd numbers made it difficult for me to understand how this mechanic works.
No longer 2021.
!multiplayer
Multiplayer is still being worked on. Here's an update: https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/official-last-epoch-multiplayer-faq/42036.
all "increased damage" sources are additive. 50% increased lightning and 20% increased spelldamage add up to 70% increased damage for a lightning spell.
Damage modifiers within skilltrees that say "more damage" are multiplicative
This is mentioned in the game guide also - press "g" ingame
I know about mechanic more damage. Only need explain how synergize increased damage is various sources.
Yes, i read that, but not understand.
They use very incomprehensible examples.
so did my first sentence explain it for you?
Yes, very thanks for that.
ok 😁
500% spell damage + 500% lightning damage = 1000% increased damage for lightning spell, right?
yes
Very appreciate.
If you can extend the duration enough & get a high enough attack speed then you'll be able to do more than the "original" damage.
Assuming you have no more duration increase than the 2 points in Turbulence (30% -> 7.8s duration), you'd need to score 20 hits within that 7.8s to do the "full" damage of Abyssal Echoes (2.56 hits/sec).
I like spears, are there any abilities that really benefit from them, or actually have nodes that do stuff while wielding them them, outside of Javelin and Lunge?
Serpent Strike on Primalist.
hey guys, I have a question about the loot filter: from the build planner there is the rule for shattering items: one t5 affix. I want to add to the rule a number of at least 12 affixes on the item to show. Unfortunately, this is not working properly for me. I tested with an item with level 13 of affixes, which shows up, without the rule of levels and do not show up any more with a rule of more or equal to 10. Do you guys have the same issue, or know a solution for my problem?
Dm me the filter with your attempt and I’ll take a look.
Has it been said if you will have to level through the story each time for whatever their version of seasons/leagues will be?
There is a portion that mentions leveling on the topic of dungeons which can be viewed/read here: https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/dungeons-what-we-know-so-far/45257.
Unsure if the campaign will be required every season.
maybe something to ask the devs then
It's a question worth asking but potentially one they don't have an answer to yet.
I'd be ok even it were a "not sure yet" kind of thing. My least favorite thing about POE is having to level through the campaign every time and I enjoyed having rifts as an option to level each season on the D3 side of things
I just read that and big if true cause the map layout for dungeons is gonna be random
and its looks to be a lvling/endgame system 👁️👄👁️
Hello!
Does Death Seal's damage reduction increase if your health falls for any reason DURING Death Seal?
Or is the damage reduction snapshotted at the moment of activation?
I have a feeling it snapshots but it’s not something I ever bothered to test honestly
Maybe @zinc sinew knows?
I generally assumed it was always 32.5% DR for the sake of figuring out EHP
Thank you! I was wondering about EHP too, and I realize I always just assumed Death Seal's DR floats
was going to start calculating integrals before I realized it might not be
I tried some non-rigorous tests using Marrow Shard to drop HP, and it does seem to snapshot
isn't marrow shards, hp removal? is doubt it would be affected by DR.
i think they mean they were using marrow shards so they could have control over their health
Skills generally snapshot
Has Act 10 been confirmed for 0.8.4?
Aw okay. I'm really excited for the story continuation. All that stuff sounds great though :)
oh, I meant that I activated Death Seal at full health, used Marrow Shards to drop my health down to ~50%, then let a sapphire nagasa hit me
Death Seal seems to provide no DR despite me being at ~<50% HP when used at max health
What's the ETA of 0.8.4?
Waiting to reroll and restart the game with the new druid revamp

So I beat Fall of the Outcasts and I got a choice between Level 62 or Level 66 timeline?
Which one is The Black Sun timeline?
66
thank you
I just looekd it up
I would say it'd be better if they just tell you what timeline your selecting
Since I want to Farm Black Sun for a specific unique
You can also check the map (M by default) which shows the names & levels of the monoliths.
Only if they've been unlocked
@balmy current
It shows the levels of the two I unlocked but not the one to the top left
Ah, fair enough.
For Vengeance and Riposte, does riposte occur whenever an enemy hits you within that 2 second window?
It's hard to confirm/tell in testing and since dummy does not attack, no controlled testing available
Yes, the Riposte is what happens when you have the black ball orbiting your character & get hit.
Thanks Llama!
any way to skip the story and start with a new pj at the end of the game?
Nope
xd ok
I have a question, does having higher adaptive spell damage influence healing from, for example, consecrated ground?
No it does not @regal osprey
I have another question now: In sentinal tree, there is a node at the end that says increases damage when welding scepter/mace. Does this damage increase include damage from spells and DoTs, or only weapon hit damage?
@marsh maple
Since it does not specify it will apply to all damage you deal while wielding a scepter or mace
Except Mike
Except minions
Mike too I guess
@marsh maple I see, thanks. I'm having trouble deciding on whether I want to take scepter or sword. Currently using sword and it has some advantages. Faster ignite stacking, faster mana generation, and slightly more survivability I suppose too because you are getting more health per hit due to faster attack speed
If the adaptive spell damage affix scaled then sword would win.
But that affix provides so little adaptive spell damage
my character is hybrid caster and melee. I use rive to stack ignites and also use judgement off cooldown as well as fire abyssal echoes
Hello. How can I disable gamepads permanently so that they are not constantly reactivated when a button is pressed? Thank you
in settings go to change input keys, then select remove controller
yes but controller is automatically auto-detected when a button is pressed
i need to disable the auto-detection
unplug your controller ;D
you could try unbinding the keys.
why can't you leave your controller alone? i know i just leave it plugged in but i almost always play with mouse and keyboard
Why is abyssal echoes skill descriptions so janky?
-
For the nether coat buff (embrace the darkness node) it says a prerequisite is "Directly casting", but I can still get the buff If I use abyssal echoes using void cleave.
-
For the node that makes you have a chance to do void rift from devouring orb (nether breach), it says "directly casting", but I cannot get void rift activation if I am using the Screaming Rifts node, even during initial cast of the abyssal echoes it does not activate the devouring orbs rifts, taking away screaming rifts makes it activate again. Meanwhile, I DO get nether coat when I use abyssal echoes using screaming rift eventhough that node has the same pre-requisite of needing "Directly casting".
It doesn't make any sense
To make sure a bug gets fixed, please post about it here: https://forum.lastepoch.com/c/bug-reports.
I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but I just got the game and I am wondering if Skeleton Vanguards from the Bone Curse tree get any of the multiplicative bonuses from the Summon Skeleton tree?
It does not. We're planning to rename them to Skeletal Vanguards to remove this confusion.
thanks!
another question: Is there a visual indicator for blood infusion?
I'm trying a build with a bunch of melee minions and blood splatter + blood infusion buff, but I am paranoid that it isn't actually buffing my minions at all
I don't believe there is.
Nope
Notice it’s labeled as a regain and not a heal, they cleaned up a lot of the skill syntax in 0.8.3 to try and clear up confusion on what counts as a heal or not
guess the wording is really fine now : if the verb isnt "heal" it is no heal
same goes for life decay and life drain e.g.
hi everyone, I just started, and I was wondering if it's normal to see a certain area around me where the graphics are better and at a certain distance outside the area the graphics are less beautiful. Like I have a sync problem
That sounds like it's worth posting about in technical support.
I have a question about beastmaster summons. I noticed that Bear summon in particular can get swipe and ice thorn activation as retaliation. Are swipe and ice thorns affected by my passive swipe and ice thorns tree?
Nope, minions use a different version
Wait a second, frost nova damage from sabertooth pet scales with character strength and not attunement?? Or does it mean pet strength?
pets can't have strength
the sabertooth skill scales off of your strength, so your strength will scale every aspect of it, including subskills like the frost nova
If I get the absolute zero node in the tempest tree, will all of my attacks be affected by spell damage modifiers? Or how does it work?
+spell crit etc.
Sorry tempest strike
absolute zero is the right-most node, it says tempest ow does spell cold damage
It's odd because it looks still like a melee attack and not a spell
No, Tempest Strike has four base components- the melee attack, and three spells: earth spikes, northern winds, and lightning bolt
that node adds cold damage to the spell components
but makes two of them- lightning bolt and earth spikes- less likely to happen
Yeah, the spell damage only applies to the spell components
the melee hit is an attack, not a spell
so if a spell doesn't proc there's no spell to add damage to
@brittle atlas Does the attunement and strength scaling apply to bot the sepll and the melee compotenets?
Or atunement only for spell?
Both should apply
Absolute zero's description is so janked.
Look at that description and see how misleading it is.
the wording is technically correct, but is definitely going to be unclear to anyone who doesn't know the way the game uses certain words
Tempest Strike here is the entire skill
so all components of it that can deal spell damage will get additional spell cold damage and have a chance to freeze
or rather, all of components of it that deal spell damage and hit
since I believe two of the components you can add to it via nodes are damage over time
and thus don't hit
It makes sense now that you explain it. But I was initially thinking that the melee hits without procs would somehow start doing spell damage
because supposedly the melee hits are also tempest strike hits
With Wandering Spirits, is Soul of Filth (10/20% more frequent use of Spectral Putrescence) multiplicative or additive with the base Spectral Putrescence chance (30%)?
multiplicative
Thanks. I find it hard to judge the value of the nodes on Wandering Spirit because of the nature of the spell.
Yeah, TS is still one of those skills that in concept/theory is cool and all, but execution has its issues
How easy is rerolling? I've always loved trying different builds in arpgs, but leveling new characters is usually boring imo.
Very fast when you know what you're doing, but you do have to go through the campaign again
It’s not too bad, the early levels before masteries are probably the worst IMO, but you learn the peaks and valleys of the leveling process. You can technically do monos as soon as you hit level End of Time
If I were to not level my alts with the builds I have in mind and was focused purely on speed I can get a character up to 60 in about 7-8 hours
And that’s running the campaign up to chapter 9
I usually go straight to monos after 8 though
i think act 6 feels a little slow also but like you have your cool skills by that point so it's easy
is it worth doing mono's asap? My first char just got to chap 9
i usually start monos around lvl 35~
the sweet spot normally feels like its just before the admiral+spymaster fight
You unlock idols and passive points along the way, so you’ll eventually want to go back if hitting a monos earlier but it’s honestly just personal preference
i mean, objectively you want to go into monos before end of campaign, if you're talking about going fast
(which is what id apply to it being worthwhile or not to)
i think i have all the idol slots unlocked - and act 9 is starting to feel very ouchie
so farming monos is the way to get better gear to beat a9 then?
That’s what I typically do
nice, tyvm
its also slightly class dependant on when the best point to start monos is
sentinel wants to go in as early as it possibly can (while still effectively clearing the monos), because once your a higher level you can just shield rush through all the campaign levels
and you zoom through the campaign stupidly quickly that way
I personally just ignore monos until I finish campaign tbh, but I've got the campaign and leveling down pretty well now
I love the campaign, I just know 9 can be a bit of a wall for new players
As there is a bit of a difficulty spike, but dang is it fun
ye, really depends on build
a lot of the stuff I've leveled recently just cuts through A9 tho
You’re also one of the best players in the community mate 😂😂
idk, I think just about anyone could walk through A9 with devouring orb right now
skill is cracked in the mid game
the only annoying leveling ive had is with lich
I haven't yet leveled an acolyte since the patch came out
since I already had necro and lich at 100 to respec
it felt like i wasn't playing the game before death seal
but i was certainly building it wrong
yeah, a lot of lich's power is in death seal
i ended up doing ok w/ spirit plague but it was still a little awkward
Sentinel was fine, so was rogue with ch9 straight after 8 (it was pally/bd), my shield throw FG is struggle bussing right now but that’s more from intentional sabotage than anything and not wanting to use forge strike 😂
sentinel and rogue were sooo smooth for me too
sorc was super good for me as well
will have to see how primalist feels after the upcoming patch
Overhauled Primalist GO!
Make me hope they fixed up skills that felt lacking for other classes too.

hello, do we need to start the 0.8.4 Patch with new char?
very good thx 🙂
hey there! a couple days ago I reached the echoes and started grinding the timelines but everything seems pretty easy
got there at level 56, and starter with the 58 timeline, then changed to the 66 at level 60 and still pretty easy
right now I'm 69 (nice) and still in the 66 timeline but it seems pretty easy to grind :/
died just once when I decided to body tank a colosus 😂
am I doing something wrong? just a Bladedancer with all in Flurry :/
If you're playing a decently built character then everything up to empowered monoliths will be pretty easy, and depending on the build it could make the first few hundred corruption in empowered content pretty easy too
and grinding Uniques til I can get to the next timeline
these empowered monoliths are the ones at the end of the timelines?
normal monoliths don't put much pressure on you to have defenses built out or that much damage output
empowered monoliths you unlock after you complete the three level 90 timelines
in empowered, all timelines are level 100
yeah, I also tried having good defenses, this game makes a good job explining how the go
and have uncapped corruption, so you can push that up to further increase difficulty and rewards
had a hard time grasping that in other games... ehem PoE ehem
nice, thank you so much @brittle atlas !
I'll get there and reset when the new patch drops
it looks amazing and seems a good moment to change to another SSF toon
wait a second... shards and stuff are not shared across characters in an account anymore? When did this happen?
Why did you come to this conclusion? Everything remains the same.
Did you roll hardcore or solo or something
oh I rolled solo
Yea that's what solo does
is there any way to go back and make my character non-solo?
nvm found it
I have a question: Does the Eye of the storm node in Maelstorm also affect tsunami damage?
the damage aspect should, idk about the area
Does tsunami have a "range/area"?
usually every subskill inherts everything from the parent skill tree if it "matches"
ayo what is this game about?
In this game there is a kind of holy doge and it's trapped in an aquarium. Your duty is to race against it and win and that will make it free.
Anybody know how work taunt, exclude main mechanic? Taunt give us more damage to taunted enemies or something?
No, it just forces affected mobs to attack whatever it was that did the taunt
It is also primarily via proximity when the taunt is applied, they needed the strength of taunt in 0.8.3 but it’s still really good
Anyone playing on linux? I seem to have some stuttering, should i use proton instead?

But game be like no
That's something they said they're trying to work on, since technically his model is below the platform you're standing on.
I see it isn't just me
Yea also lunge and stuff do not play very nice with him
And you can't target him with smite on controller
By that you mean you simply can't
And even if I could i'm too lazy to find the perfect pixel which lets me lunge
If i were to cast a Cold Spell but not directly like it's casted through another skill or ability would this still proc?
it has to be casted directly
a minion build that doesn't depend on legendaries?
most of them? I think most minion builds are just getting some extra value out of certain uniques, rather than requiring them to function?
would be nice if it said on the tooltip
but thank you
I think the word "use" generally implies direct casting in LE?
I think epoch builds put out a video on abom necro recently
Sorry for bothering, I don't understand much English and I use pages to translate, so it tells me to find builds
also a beastmaster wolf build
ah

Just starting the game, can anyone recommend a fun build that is melee - has high mobility and attacks fast? Something around that playstyle
Make your own, the game is very forgiving!
bleed or poison flurry bladedancer
Ill check it out ty
Does the echo casts from Void Knight cost me mana when it triggers?
Is it expected that the Shurikens from Shift’s Sleight of Hand node do not proc Shadow's shurikens?
I know the writing on it is a bit more ambiguous compared to Dancing Shadows. So I can understand if it doesn’t affect it as it could be intended as an implicit cast
This echo? You mean echo that have chance repeat any attack or spell skills that you do? If yes, this no cost mana, its zero cost.
Yeah, that's the one. Just wanted to make sure since triggered casts used mana. Thanks!
Yeah shift is a prime example of inconsistency on the proc'd skills as the behaviour of shurikens, cascade and acid flask. It effectively will just cast shurikens X shurikens and take some of the modifiers of the shuriken tree. Things that add additional shurikens won't count nor will it consume shadows for additional casts but it'll take on blade shirked, chakrams and all dmg nodes. The wording could definitely be better.
is anything wrong with my filter or am i just unlucky?
like i want to hide every under 75, and who shows level 75+ with those types and affixes
level 75 excludes the massive majority of items since the game doesn't have item levels
I just wouldn't use level filters at all tbh
and just filter to the affixes you want on the bases you want
Yeah, you won't see most of the best bases with a level 75 restriction
even 4x T5 Solarum Greaves for example are only level 74
so something like this?
yeah, and then a hide all rule at the bottom
this is what my filter looks like for example
is there a quick way to do hide all?
yes, make a rule with no conditions set to hide
np
Personally I like hide normal/magic/rare so I see set and unique and only need 1 rule.
No, it's a free repeat of the skill that was echoed.
I know this has been gone over before, but if the game doesn't have item levels, what's this?
In LE, item level = required character level
Let's be real llama it's not really free...you pay with your heart and soul. Every time a Void Knight is created ingame another forge guard is lost without a family...pay 6 easy payments of 16 orians eyes to save your local forge guard today, and maybe one day his rework will be reverted..... 😢
Thanks Amarathy, that’s what I thought as well, particularly since it is a x/5 skill node rather than a single point node. Still has applications with Blade Coat, Deadly Aim, and Throwing Star in terms of application. Too bad it doesn’t trigger shadows though, would have let the gameplay operate similarly to shadow cascade as a nice trigger on shadow set up
Generally I would consider item level as something separate to required level, in that two items of the same required level could have a different item level. LE only has required levels.
Hello community, ive done my fair share of googling now, did not find any answers though. Does anyone else have problems starting the game in Ubuntu ?
I just get a black screen, sometimes a splash-screen, computer freezes for like 1 minute. Then the game closes
How long does it generally take to farm gear for an end-game build? I ask because so far I haven't found a single piece of gear that has >2 useful mods on it - I don't know if this gets better once you start pushing high-tier empowered corruptions or not. At best, I've either been finding items with 1 useful mod at T4+ and 3 blank/useless ones, or items with 2 useful mods, but with both at like T1/T2.
if you want like perfect exalted gear, I don't think you'll ever really get there. T20 crafted stuff it depends on the slot, but a lot of that is just a matter of playing enough to find a decent base that's like T8 or so total with 2-3 mods you want and crafting it up.
T20 belts and boots are pretty easy since their overall mod pool is pretty small
something like a ring is going to be a lot harder
a lot of slots you don't really need T20 gear in to do fine
like a relic can have a T1 frailty chance roll and still be decent
you could have a lower chill chance or slow chance roll on a weapon and be fine
even on like...belt, boots, gloves you could settle for T3 hybrid health and not be losing that much
+skills, flat health, resists, and damage rolls on weapons really benefit from being higher tiers. The rest is often fine at t3 or t4.
At least until you get to the point where you're fine-tuning in high corruption empowered content.
There are obviously exceptions, but they're circumstantial and build reliant.
I just swapped all my skills on my old level 50 VK and they are all level 6. Is there a recommended area to go level the skills up? Because trying to do my current level story with level 6 skills is no bueno
go do low level monos, if you've unlocked the end of time
first one is lvl 58, shouldn't be too bad, and your skills will level up fast to where they were
After you reset them, they gain bonus XP for a bit, so they'll catch back up to where you had them pretty quickly. Maybe even just going through some story zones.
hello! can mark of death take enemy resistances into negative value ?
It should be able to, I do not believe enemies naturally have any resistances outside of general damage reduction unless they get a modifier in monos that applies resistance to enemies
Hey everyone, I just started playing and I'm trying to figure out a vague starting character build. I was considering playing a Sentinel and focusing on polearms, but I'm starting to doubt that after looking at the passives and skills for the class.
I'm seeing a lot of bonuses for other weapon types (swords, axes, etc) but so far I've only noticed one bonus for polearms (on the Javelin skill). Is that not actually a big deal or is that a sign that polearms are a bad choice for Sentinel unless I want to focus on Javelin?
Polearms will get reworked next patch on dec 10th, but at the moment they are mainly used on builds where you want the high flat crit chance on a 2h weapon and don't need any other weapon specific nodes
Enemies generally have no resistances, so yes- all penetration and resistance reduction puts them into the negative.
In theory is it possible to get just enough resistance of all kinds to not get one shot on the same set of gear? Or will it have to be different sets/pieces for different monoliths?
So meaning a frost resist set, fire, etc etc
You can cap all of your resistances with relatively minor resistances on gear
I’ve saved up a bunch of gear which have high amounts of resist but their stats are no good for me, but thought save them for shattering and use their resistances on my gear
I generally put a single resist on each ring and then get the rest from implicits, blessings, passives

Generally the goal is avoid resistances as affixes on your gear as much as possible
Since they share suffix slots with health
So you want to get resistances in ways that don’t use suffix slots
Ah interesting was not aware of this
I appreciate the info, but I don't really have enough context yet on how the game works to know what to do with that info.
What are some good builds for clearing enemies in easier monoliths using just movement skills? I've looked at nova+teleport sorcerer and shadow cascade+shift blade dancer, but I'm curious what else is out there. Is reap+transplant viable for clearing easy stuff on a lich?
So to answer your question simply: no, Polearms are not bad, they are used in crit builds. This is subject to change in the upcoming patch as the weapon class is getting significant changes
Got it, thanks. I was unsure of how valuable flat crit chance is in this game, how well it synergizes with Sentinel stuff, how important the unavailable skills / upgrades are, etc.
The best clearing stuff at the moment is Devouring Orb + Lunge and Spirit Plague + Reap imo
I tried devouring orb a little bit, but the stutter-steps from autocasting it felt too awkward to me
Yeah I definitely wouldn’t autocast it
spirit plague looks fun, but i'm hesitating to try it on a lich because i imagine it's going to be a core skill for warlocks whenever they come out
I don’t know if we have much info on warlocks yet and I doubt we get them anytime soon
Like probably 7+ months would be absolute minimum guess
It's quite valuable for some specific characters. Javelin is definitely the skill that benefits from a polearm the most, but overall they are just more niche than axes/swords. Hopefully they can make them a little more relevant with the new changes
Is spirit plague good in itself to be a good DPS skill for end game?

I like this version a lot
if you don't want to push that high of corruption its insane
yeah, anything 300-ish and under it cuts through like butter
the boss damage isn't amazing, but it does echoes super quick
Is there a reason the imperial spymaster wears a shai-halud skinsuit
also, why does the empire have an industrial slaughterhouse full of sandworms
and what is the spymaster doing there when he could be doing his job in the field or in an actual office
It's a cool area and bossfight and all but it's a little out of left field
Very good questions coming from an appropriately named account.
Why doesn't spy master zerrick recognize us?
maybe he does and just doesn't to let us know he recognizes us
he's a spymaster afterall, h'es like...200 steps ahead
Thanks. BTW really like your videos.
The current story we have available is missing a lot of the middle parts that lead the later chapters to become the early chapters, so I imagine we'll fill in that part of the loop by the end.
hello, does the volatile blood passive from Lich affect the health decay while in reaper form? (does it slow it down?)
Reduced Health Drain 5% per point
wording is quite accurate here
reaper form is decay
so no it doesnt work cause a decay is no drain (like a leech is no heal)
Guy/gals, how long should I grind certain monoliths, should I get to the next one when I finish the 3rd quest or continue on the same one and reset echoes?
I’d say move on and try to get to empowered. The modifiers on empowered are a lot stronger in terms of rarity drops and some boss only uniques also require empowered timelines for them to drop
Alright, thanks, so I shouldn't spend much time and stressing about missing echoes and whatnot, got it.
Still lvl 70, long time before I get the winter bow at 90
You don’t have to be the same level as the timeline in order to advance, those levels are just zone levels, you typically can unlock the 90 monos around level 80. Some can get there faster, others slower. Just depends on how much refining a build needs as they make their way to it
Yeah, still trying to learn the itemization, I mean, I'm following a build, but new game, new stats and whatnot.
Still trying to learn what's a priority when itemizing
Lots of stats to look at, especially all the elemental damage and crit chance/multipliers.
Also flat ele dmg/phys etc.
this video is an eye opener for sure, till now I was just stacking dmg and similar things, and keeping my resistance at 75%,
I am lvl 71 with 900hp necro

In general you’ll see a lot of builds use the same bases for gloves/belts/boots. This is because the implicits on these items are not extremely varied. So bronze belt gives you 4 potion slots and additional armor which is added ehp/defense with 0 cost. The same with the Engraved Gauntlets and their endurance implicit.
Where these items lose in variety in base types, they make up for with variety in uniques. You’ll see that alt here are a LOT of unique belts/boots/gloves. These slots are nice as it allows you to enhance your build without sacrificing some of the most important gear slots that have the affixes that will have a high impact on your build (like torso, helms, and relics do)
you can be quite sure that all old base types get overhauled in the next patches
every of the last patches gave love to 1 or 2 base types
Would love to see it, but those seem to be primarily weapon bases that are getting the largest overhauls. Boots were touched in 0.8.3 but only for the movement speed changes and lower level changes, nothing truly overhauled about it in my opinion
I would absolutely love to see belts get overhauled. Boots had an opportunity last patch but didn’t see anything substantial.
I'm not sure about that, the Boots/Gloves were reworked "recently" though Belts haven't been changed yet.
Anyone tried flat fire bow cinder strike yet ?
I've theorycrafted this https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/GBONmJQx but idk if dmg will hold up
Cinder Strike is really just a 'fine' skill, both the hit and ignite variants are good early on but fall off damage wise late game because of a lack of multipliers. You can still make it work though if you enjoy the ability
Empowered is what i'm worried bout
looks like it may be weak and aoe won't be great either
Well, you can still kill stuff, especially with Marksman's easy access to crit vuln + armor shred. But it's not gonna be fast, especially if you wanna push corruption
