They are the same thing. Crit chance is global and spell crit is only for spells. I highly recommend crafting spell crit on your gear instead of global crit since they roll higher values

Legendary timelines have all areas scaled to level 100, as well as setting their corruption to a minimum of 100.
Corruption adds a permanent monster health... so yeah by default empowered's always feel much more tanky , even more so if there are mods that do as well
Is their any endgame other than the treadmill of increasing corruption in monolith?
Currently it is limited to monolith or arena. Additional endgame modes are going to be released in future patches.

Good, because if THIS was supposed to be it I actually would be disappointed. Doing Monolith for the sake of making enemies stronger than you, while also seemingly not allowing the player to meet that power has really been killing it for me. I might make one more character because I have a couple build ideas, but I'm gonna wait until then.
You aren't forced to continuously increase the difficulty and echo webs can be quite expansive. If you are content with the difficulty of your current timeline just run low corruption increases and decreases to maintain the corruption level after exploring the web.
Just not big on ARPGS just throwing you on a treadmill because "The Grind™️". I prefer when there is some aspirational content where I'm being presented with some sort of difficult challenge to overcome, not necessarily just big numbers.
Have you played an ARPG that doesn't have this type of gameplay loop? I am genuinely curious as I find it to be one of the pillars of the genre.
I feel like any good RPG with longterm viability has some kind of treadmill.
Grim Dawn doesn't give the same feeling, and I much prefer doing the skeleton dungeons that act as set pieces and not "here's a map that can spawn every type of enemy in the game, go wild". Shattered Realm is just slightly high quality Greater Rifting, but I wouldn't say that is a fair comparison to Monolith since the only real similarity between its systems is just running through a campaign zone with a bunch of enemies on it. I steer clear of it anyway, even if it's the most ludicrous way to get loot.
It's a bit of a stretch for the term "ARPG", but playing The Division and Destiny there was the Incursions and Raid/Raid Lairs/Prison of Elders systems that I really liked.
The biggest problem I have with Monolith atm is that it seems there is no "goal" I'm trying to reach, and can't reasonably see myself making steps towards that goal either. Right now it's just me running through for the sake of at least bringing a character to 100. And so far gaining levels hasn't really gave me any increase in character power.

does venomous intent for serpent strike reduce my own usual poison duration? It sais it reduces it for the projectile, but not for "other ailments". It doesnt mention the regular poison duration tho from the hit

From the wording it'll affect all poisons applied by Serpent Strike, not just from the projectile.

Highest tier is T7. T6 drops from ~level 50 and T7 at ~90. I can't recall the specifics.

Multistrike triggering Forge Strike with the Fiery Justice node. With the node, it triggers, costing 40 mana. In the Forge Guard tree there's a passive called Crushing Blows that grants 3% increased damage per 1 mana cost of skills. Would that damage increase apply to the triggered Forge Strike?
yea I don't see why it wouldn't, forge strike has a melee tag
generally triggered abilities scale as everything else as long as conditions are met
Yeah that's kind of what I figure too. I just wasn't 100% confident since trigger skills can sometimes be finicky. Thanks for the affirmation though, I feel good knowing my Forge Strike hits like a truck
well should work doesn't always guarantee it would ^^ can't speak for sure because I haven't tried myself, you can always try stuff on a dummy

@pulsar crystal maybe will be helpful for you, an example how total bleed dmg is calculated, shuriken_n is basically expected number of hits, instead of the attack speed bcs I don't use it

bleed effect is a multi yes, but it's additive from different sources, not quite sure why serrated blade specifies that it's multiplicative with other modifiers
on different skills it just says +bleed effect
going by what it says below, it's just default bleed effect

so you can get up to 245% bleed effect for forge strike it seems and increased bleed damage which is additive with other things (+% physical dmg) equal to stun chance (tree can provide 150%)
I am only used to hit builds myself, so I have been using bleed forge strike as my way to figure it out 🙂
are you sure these 2 nodes work together? seems like there're 3 nodes that convert forge strike into sword/spear/anvil

bcs there can be conflicting nodes on a tree, in shuriken you can pick blade shield and then thworing star but it then would do nothing

I am using it solely to make forge strike pretty much free and deal 60% more dmg
Not really sure where to put this; having serious issues with Last Epoch crashing whenever I try to load into new areas. Validated the game and made a new character to see if that would make a difference. Nada. Was going to try running the game on my Linux install to see if that helps, but as the saves are stored in the registry, I'm not really sure how'd I go about converting that information. I haven't seen anything online about copying files from Windows to Linux save for one post where someone made a program that was never published. Does anyone have any knowledge on transferring a LE save from Windows to Linux? As is, the game is basically unplayable on Windows at the moment with the constant CTDs.

When a skill like Javelin's Divine Throws says "Javelin's base physical damage and added damage form all sources is converted to lightning," does that mean added physical damage or added damage of all types is is converted to lightning?

I want to provide feedback on skills that pull enemies and how they feel/look very clunky with bad physics and make me not want to use them. I would like info from others here to provide more complete feedback on the issue since I might not know about other skills with similar problems. The 2 skills with which I have noticed big problems are Sentinel’s Rive when you take the node “Challenge” and Rogue’s Ballista when you take the node “Harpoon shot”. Also, I suppose it’s possible that similar issues exist for skills that can knockback. If that’s so that is also worth sharing.
You can manually copy the save folder from your linux install location to your windows install location, though I thought that steam cloud should have done that for you. The files will be in the save folder here (https://support.lastepoch.com/hc/en-us/articles/1260805192629-The-Game-s-Log-File).

idk if it's intended to bypass the dual wielding requirements since it's triggered after another skill

Many attacks and thus many aftershock proccs do not change the behaviour as each hit is a new instance.
Well this raises more questions haha. I mean, if I node into that an aftershock can proc another one for 100% and I proc it by idols can it hit the same target twice? Lets say I use Swipe once and proc shock with idols which cast another one thx do the EQ node. Does this second one can target the same enemy? And what if I swipe once and proc the idol and then the aftershock (since its a hit) proc another shock as well...does this one can target the same enemy? If so, there could be (best case which is kind unreal) the possibility of infinite shocks?
Procs don't (generally) proc procs.

Yeah, it was quite confusing back then. If you skill upheaval you still rpocc the snowrash stuff which specifies hit, so It probably is a hit. For the aftershock chain probably Llamas statement holds true so an aftershock doesnt procc multiple times.
I expect crit/crit multi should work but I used the no-crit/attack speed gloves and found that I already needed so many other prefixes that there was not room for crit

I dropped PoE long time ago. It has TOO many mechanics for my liking and for the love of god I love playing on my gamepad and LE has improved a lot in this department

Meaning the damage of DoT instane itself is not updated. Only increased damage taken/damage reductions are accounted for when the damage is damage is inflicted.
Penetration from applying skills is inherited to the dot
The "less" keyword makes them apply multiplicatively, regardless of order.

I always have problems in my bleed builds in some echoes. Even before the patch. For frostbite this patch I didn't have any fps issues...

if I play lets say a minion dot (bleed or poison) it just scales with inc minion dmg, dmg over time and the respective dmg effectiveness

Yes, DoTs do not scale with flat damage. Ailments do not scale with spell damage since they are not a spell. Here you have a damage over time spell thus it still scales with spell damage.
Aftershock Upheveal's wording lets assume that it is not converted to damage over time but its hit damage is applied multiple times -> damage over time.
Therefore the aftershocks scale as before and are still unaffected by damage over time increases

Overcapping only helps against shred or mark of death. The base penetration (75% above area level 75) cannot be mitigated. By going to 75% resistance you avoid getting negative resistances.
Is there anyway to speed up the initial activation on the skill "Synchronized Strike? There's a delay between pressing the key and the actual attack animation. Does attack speed/cast speed reduce that delay?

the tl;dr if the devs give the monster both pen and lower base damage, it means differences from that point are much less drastic.

Any guides to improve performance? I have stuttering constantly if I dont set my vsync to half (which I cant do ingame for some reason, via .ini file). I can play most of games just fine, was playing sekiro not too long ago, so im sure the stuttering is not graphics related
what quality are you playing on? i've just always played on medium even though i shouldn't be either cpu or gpu bottlenecked
texture quality is still p decent on medium just losing shadows mostly

Ok. Thought it was clear. Exp is based on area minion level and you don't get any penalty if you are not close to this area level. Thus, higher zones provide higher amount of exp per kill. But always keep in mind that if you are slower you may get less exp per hour when running higher level zones.

No
Enemies penetrate resistance and it is applied after the resistance cap of 75%. Therefore getting over 75% is not useful considering penetration of enemies. At area level 75 and above you effectively have a maximum effective resistance of 0% (75% - penetration)

Thanks to this scaling and balance around having 0% effective resistance one percent-point missing only resuslts in 1% additional damage taken in difference to games like PoE where you get 4% more damage when missing 1 percent-point
Overcapping resistance only helps against resistance shred or a debuff called mark of death. These are applied before the resistance cap.
Another thing you should keep in mind is that resistances can go to negative values

To my knowledge it is not even possible to get it above 75%. In general jsut try to get close to 75% but dont waste to much damage for the last percentages.
Leech, there is an amulet with less damage taken over time, talents and trying to not get hit to often. Or some ailment removal like from holy aura

Melee has something of an aimbot here, it spins you around so you face the enemy. At least some attacks do, for example rive and multistrike on the sentinel. These should definitely be controller-friendly.
I like that 2-handed can crutch on "%less damage taken from critical strikes" as a weapon mod until you get 100% crit avoidance. Dual wielding has the highest damage stats (it combines both weapons' added damage, for example) but there'll be a point where the 15% more damage taken will make the slight difference between getting stunned or not. Still totally worth using.

Orians drop rate is like 0,0002% chance so it's not realistic to farm.

Just like in poe it's not accurate but it will allow you to check if weapon is an upgrade during leveling

Minions have a spell critical strike chance affix as well. I believe it’s a suffix on two hand staffs, might be other places as well. I’d have to check to be sure

I have a question about "cast when hit" effect. For example, Briarskin node casts Ice Thorns with no cost of mana, as instant, no cooldown?
At least, I feel Bramble armour doesn't need any cast time or mana cost.

i think it just reduces the damage you take by 35% after all the calculations
so yeah if u took after all calculations 1000 u would actually take 650
What confuses me is why you would select it over dodge?
dodge chance is capped at 80%
glancing blow is not capped
also dodge chance depends on area level, in higher area level it gets lower
So 10 hits for 100 damage each = 1000 damage
80% dodge = 2 hits (on average) hit me, for 200 damage
100% Glancing = 10 hits hit me, for 650 damage
even if you half my dodge by 50% for 40% dodge, dodge still wins in the end with 400 damage

if area level is higher you need more dodge rating to raise the dodge chance

So how do you "get" initial bleed damage?
It starts at 0% and every %increased is an additive to that, not a multiplicative. So your first 20% makes you go from 0-20%, another 110% and you get 130% etc

then you can add or multiply to it, but it starts at 10 damage

yeah the ailments in this game take some time to get used to, I suggest reading the game guide about them it gives a pretty good run down on them. They are fairly unique in this game.
Not sure if you knew, but if you have more than 100% bleed chance in this game you can inflict multiple bleeds/any other ailments per hit.

I believe those skills don't inherit tree nodes. For example, I could never spawn a skeleton vanguard from another dying skeleton vanguard, even if the minion that initially died had a chance to spawn a vanguard on death.

Channeled skills have a tag such as the screenshot I attached. The benefits or drawbacks will vary from skill to skill and channeled skills typically force your character to stand in place while casting/channeling.

Not positive, but I believe it means you need to go through the monolith (completing all 3 quest echoes) and choose both options at the end, so you unlock both "the stolen lance" and "the black sun"

It can't, AFAIK, but there might be a bug where all spirit plagues chain to the same enemy when you pick the node that chains more plagues on kill since this bug is very common in the game when new targets are selected at the same time.
But it might just have no effect then.
so, did some testing, it seems that it doesn't matter since spirit plague isn't applying bleed at all when it spreads (at least, I'm not getting affected by exsanguinate when it spreads, even to a new target, so I'm assuming it doesn't work for hemorrage either)

Got an fps spike while fighting lagon when I was hit with the waterspray. Caused me to die. Has that happened to anyone else? I would have easily survived if not for the fps spike.
I do get weird lag spikes quite often nowadays, not necessarily while fighting Lagon though. Screen totally freezes for a second or two
Any tips for FPS improvements? Getting like 30-40 fps in some scenarios, I'm still early game too so I feel like endgame wont be managable for me.

I think the bleed to ignite conversion only impacts the chance to bleed per second for hail of arrows, which by default I don’t believe can benefit from Disembowel.
Hail of arrows has "chance to cause bleed each second". Stats that are phrased like this cannot be scaled.
So any bleed chance on hit that you have won't apply, neither should disembowel.
So this just got brought up in ask the devs, but if monos dont give mosnters resistance, do they get armor? What causes monsters to take less damage then the dummy for example, when they dont get resistance? is it just a blanket reduction granted by level?

How does the mage fair in Last Epoch? I went arc wizard in POE and I'm looking for something that can do large fancy explosions. I do have a Acolyte that I played for an hour or so but I might re-roll as I'm going Lich in a different game I'm playing already.
Lightning Blast is similar to Arc and you unlock the skill at level 2 or 3. Mage is very good.
Mage is really good, but can be a bit punishing regarding its defenses until you get certain uniques
Any advice on when the arena become worthwhile ? Just did 12 waves at level 79 and the exp was good, but loot was meh.

the exp is somewhat competitive at times, but the loot isn't even close
the exp gap used to be a lot larger in arena's favor

Picked up a polearm with +459 chance to shred
You can shred multiple stacks per hit so having 200% instead of 100% for example shreds armor twice as fast
459% = 4 stacks with a 59% chance to apply an additional stack

Does armor shred only effect damage I do the mob, or does it reduce the mobs armor, IE. does my manifest armor get the benefit of me shredding the mob.
Armor shred is an ailment, meaning it's a debuff applied to the monster. It should affect anything that hits it, including your minions and future party members.

Anything in the tree for warpath that depend on bleed now depend on ignite.

Bleed chance will be affected from everywhere including gear and such. Things like "Do X more damage while target is bleeding" or something would only be affected if it's in the same tree as Earthscorcher.

Some timelines give you a choice via dialogue during their quest echoes
That quest wants you to have picked both dialogue options by running the quest echoes twice
During Fall of the Outcasts you can choose to unlock Stolen Lance or Black Sun. During Ending the Storm you can choose to unlock Reign of Dragons or Fall of the Empire

That's a good question... Poison (the Ailment DoT) and Poison Shred (the Ailment) are distinctly different I guess

After tracking it, my VK echo ONLY appears after I cleared the full pack. And is almost guaranteed to appear then.

They are still only bleeds, but their duration and rate are changed.

how bad is idea of self-cast shaman instead of totems
Shaman only really supports autobomber, totems or lightning melee. Can't really use it on other builds.
Self-casting druid works really well in my opinion.

Primalist is in a weird spot where most of their spells have the physical tag but many of their buffs are for elemental damage.
Looking for build recomendation with good single target and sustain for empowered bosses (played rogue last time so any other class but this), that also doesn't depend on ultra rare uniques.
Can anyone tell me if the Thorn Shield recast talent will actually make it stack?

Literally the main end game of the game is literally just 'go into map, find thing to kill, if it takes you too long killing mobs will make a marker appear for you'
but at its base its an endgame designed around not just being told every single thing you have to do
Which is rewarding, because who likes being told every single thing they're meant to do

Is there a hard cap on reduction of enemy resistances? I have 20% shock effectiveness and at 20 stacks it reduces their resist by 120%. I also have 29% lightning penetration. If these stack how I think, I have effective enemy resistance reduction of 149%?

Not enemy resists, no. It depends on how many stacks of shred you can keep on them & how much penetration you have. The penetration @smoky glade mentioned looks more like the area level penetration against the player.
And resist shred & resist pen are combined in any event
