Re the second half, the skill itself says it converts melee physical at 20% value for polearms. Is that flat, or %?
it adds flat melee damage from your weapon at 20% value for polearms
it's not a conversion
it doesn't need to be physical
if you have cold damage on your weapon for example, it would add 20% of that as cold damage to javelin

For Mana Costs, do flat or percentage changes apply first? I'm looking at Fireball. I have reduced the mana cost to zero using the mana sphere node, which has -3 mana cost when maxed. If I take a code that increased cost by a percentage like Piercing Heat (+33% mana cost), would that apply before the flat reduction ( base cost 3 + 33% = 4 - 3 = 1 Final Cost), or after ( base cost 3 - 3 = 0 + 33% = 0 Final Cost)?
In my experience with warpath (from last patch 0.8.2) percentage reductions were applied first.

is there a limit on how many enemies spiraling hammer throw can hit? seemed to pierce while leveling and now it doesnt
is it recommended to get max of all the resists in endgame on softcore? iv also seen some builds with no health/vitality. Is heath not as good in this game because of the way it lowers resistances?
Resistance is not as important as in PoE as 1% missing resistance only increses damage taken by 1% instead of 4%
I dont get your second part as I'm not aware of any effect health has on resistance...
You still want to be as close as possible to the resistance cap without wasting too much other damage or damage reduction sources
Some builds can get away from being under the cap a bit due to passives, Shaman’s Protective Circle is a great example of that

Yeah. 1 point mana protects 5 points of health, thus mana is more important/better for defence
how do you guys approach echoes? Reset timeline web asap? Or try to farm in outer edges as much as you can and reset it later?
If I don't have a target unique for the timeline, I just blitz it out. Otherwise, I'd just go outside for regular nodes for more stability, stacking corruption only if it doesn't make nodes unmanageable.

yeah, going as much outside as possible, avoiding reset nodes. Although, reset nodes can be worth for a nice burst, if you miss ~ 2 nodes worth of stability and you're on your 3rd quest echo
First I go in straight line to unlock the three quests as fast as possible. I can turn a bit sometimes, to go for a desirable reward, but not far. Then I do the quests. Then I explore the other sides, till I can do the quests again, but lass quickly
p.s. does echoes modifiers applies to final boss fight?
Yes unless the mod specifies "Rare enemies"
If there are rare enemies in the boss encounter then the modifier will apply to those.
if you die on last boss, can you try instantly again?
You lose a bit of stability if you fail a quest echo, so it's possible you might have to do another echo or two to be able to do the boss again if you were right on the cutoff when you attempt the encounter.
does maehlin's hubris convert melee bleed tags to generic ignite
from my experience so far (90 sorcerer), I'm finding plenty of good weapons/boots/helms in particular but I seem to be struggling finding very good belts. Am I just unlucky or expecting too much from belts, or do others have a similar experience?
There are not many type of belts around I think. The best ones I think are ones that carry 4 potions with armor, or 5 potions without any armor.
The affix you can put on the belt are mostly the generic ones as well.

It was fairly easy, I haven't died once and already completed two Monoliths, area lvl 58 and 62.

From my personal experience, there isn’t a difficulty spike when you progress through higher level monoliths. So I would also recommend keep going
I don’t like arenas. I sell the keys. Good money lol
Empowered has a difficulty spike, the normal monos might depend on your build.
Arenas are good for XP, though not so good that you HAVE to do them
If you enjoy them, do them, if not don’t
so far with middling gear I havent encountered a roadblock in regular monos, almost done with the last one and getting close to 90
I haven't tried Arena yet.
only real block was shade of orobyss but that was because it had spooky affixes & I had bad resists

I'm quite happy with my fire nova build. I can't believe I didn't have to re-roll or start a new character after lvl 50 or so.
Anyone had the experience that he died but still could play? Probably got killed while some recovery was incoming. Had the respawn screen but could still use skills, finish the echo and portal out with T. Respawn screen was gone back in town.

Bowmage was good enough to get me to wave 125 in questionable gear. I probably could’ve gone further, but that was high enough to get me into the top 100 leaderboard at the time.

Probably. They know about this. Just couldn’t get it fixed in time for this hot fix patch.

For me, it happens when I get blessing for increased attack speed. My rebuke will just release right away without any effect

thats not an "official" term. thats just what i call a build i came up with where you summon a single, stationary volatile zombie and then blow it up with sacrifice.

One of the super interesting skill for Necromancer is Abomination. I really hope they can continue to tune it without touching the basic concept of it. Some hardcore necromancer players are asking the dev to redesign the skill because it does seem to be impractical

Abomination’s HP depends on the minions you consume. Mine can last quite a while but I still have to summon it usually 2-3 times during each monolith echo

New to minion builds, how do you get base dmg for minions? Or is there a different approach for minions?
Currently working on an electrocute focused sentinel build. My weapon(s) will just be used to boost electrocute DoT damage. My question - would I get more DoT damage from a 2handed staff or would it be better to take the dual weild passive and just stack DoT damage on two 1handers instead?

"x chance to bleed" doesn't exist
all sources of bleed chance are on hit or are skill-specific applications like "chance to bleed per second" for things like Hail of Arrows

anyone else getting high gpu temps or is my gpu bricked? if i go fullscreen in a snow area at 144fps(hz) my gpu fans go 100% in about 5 seconds
also if i leave the passive tree open for like 3 minutes the temps just keep going up until 100% fan speed
The game is fairly GPU intensive, yes. That’s the short answer. The long answer would require knowing your system specs and such.

the passive tree is weird in particular, i don't think the fps cap applies to it for some reason
sitting in end's time my temps are stable at around 60, just opening the tree up slowly brings them to 80

Yeah, nodes closer to the center reward less stability
you take a short term setback in that regard to build corruption for longterm gains
as corruption provides a multiplier to stability gain

Ascend mastery kinda same thing but more of meant at that point of the game is that considered half way throufh the story or the end etc

9 chapters for new players its likely 10 hours or so? i would say but veterans can smack it in like 3 hours
subsequent playthroughs, it can be done in like 3-4 hours, maybe 5-6 if you're multitasking and going slow
However you don't have to finish the story to enjoy endgame IF you are strong enough
the moment you get your mastery you can jump into monoliths however its not easy that early on

It is possible yes however if its your first character then i don't suggest doing that not until you reach level 40-50

In subsequent playthroughs you may decide to level a bit in monoliths.
In subsequent playthroughs I had realized stuff about the chapters and the bosses. So for example when hitting the Lagon boss I had low Lightning res, I then did some easy monoliths to get that res up befor engaging him.
I will put my Druid Werebear question out here if anyone have any tips. I play hardcore and I play druid. I have enough crit to sustain Werebearform, but its close. I am looking into the specialization node Called Ursine Wisdome to get alot of mana efficiency. But the drawbacks seems dangerous for hardcore. Am I right?
Can someone explain why the new wand does not result in higher fire spell damage?
I use firebrand/flame aura, so I have to use fire spell damage tooltips to approximate my aura damage increases
It can be that spreading flames as an ailment counts toward your fire dmg, if your skills hit (I don't know if they do)
if you're using a skill that hits, then yeah
spreading flames would be in the tooltip
but you should be able to just check the aura tooltip, right?

You can craft 4x T5 affixes. T6 and T7 items are Exalted/Purple and drop only

Clear echoes as much as possible so that you get more drops from the monolith chest, it might not be worth the time investment though, as echoes can be completed fast

If my base dmg is 10 phys and 10 void, and I have 100% increased physical damage and 100% increased void damage, is my final damage 40 (20/20) or 60 (30/30) or 60 (all phys? all void?)
both get their own increases and you sum the two
Your 40 (20/20) example is correct
increases to damage only apply to that damage type, generally
the tags describe its base stuff, but if you have a weapon with say....added cold damage then you would scale that with increased cold damage
regardless of what ability you're using it for, excepting things that convert added damage
Ok thanks guys. My real question is more annoying, lol. I am using Eternal Eclipse 2H sword, with 1 pt in the Void Cleave ignite talent (to give VC the fire tag). That makes my weapon damage 50 phys / 240 Fire / 240 Void. And I wasn't sure if the fire is being scaled much. Sounds like no, since as a Void Knight my damage bonuses are mostly void and some physical.
Yeah, the fire would only be scaled by increased fire or increased melee, basically
increased elemental would hit the fire but not the void
Yeah, do you know how the base damage is changed when a new tag is added, yet the normal base damage is less than the number of types of damage? I was going to mention it will change that (which is true of spells, and is usually pretty straightforward there), but the base damage of Void cleave is 1 physical, 1 void, which doesn't leave any room for another type to create a clean breakpoint on the base damage.

single-typed damage is definitely stronger in general due to things like resistance shred, but void knight doesn't have good options for that.
Are there any solid guides out there for how exactly gearing in endgame works? Or how to break through the wall once you stop seeing upgrades drop?
My understanding is you run monoliths for bases and try to craft good upgrades and that's what I'm trying to do, but it doesn't really feel like my power level is increasing but the mobs in Monoliths definitely are.
At a certain point is the only source of upgrades random exalted items with a roll you need that you then have to try crafting without bricking?

if you're a build that can make reasonable use of armor, % armor suffix on a few slots is generally the way to go

You can obtain more by picking up gear with that affix and using a rune of shattering on it in the forge. You are not guaranteed a shard and the item will be destroyed.

So after you beat the last quest echo boss to move on to the next region, what is required to go back and farm that boss? Do you have to re-grind 500 stability?
There is an endless supply a shards, you will have plenty eventually

If you defeat orobyss you gain corruption, which is a multiplier to stability gain, among other things
so if your build is powerful and fast, you can do boss loops quite quickly later on

Are there any build archetypes that aren't minion based that are considered fairly easy to push into the highest level monolith timelines? By easy I mean doesnt require immense amounts of min/maxing just to "enable" the build, like the Lizard hammer throw is a great build, but has some intense min/maxing at the high end. I just wanna turn my brain off and endlessly kill things sometimes
Most things can easily can get into level 100 empowered monoliths just coasting
pushing over like 300 corruption is when you start to need a bit more min/maxing
Is something like warpath generally considered one of the easier things to play/push with?
Definitely
Warpath has a lot of good item progression to make but isn't massively dependent on any single thing
but would provide a lot of good intermediate goals in terms of items to acquire

Added damage actually for most part looks like a really good stat in LE given it gets multiplied by increases then by more modifiers if im understanding correctly how it works
flat added damage usually is very strong yes
Yes. Especially if the skill has a high damnage effectiveness (another unique more multiplier)
like most stats : it is relativly strongest if you still have not very much of it
so if you allready have 500 base damage adding another 50 wont do much ... add 50 on 100 on the other hand

Hello i've got a rather noob question so i completed 75 timeline, went to work on the 70 and when i was done with 70 the map was showing me to go back to 75 any idea why 🤔 ?
In the 70 you had a choice to make, that would lead you either to 75 or to 80. If I remember well, it's when you have to decide which camp to defend
and so now you should do 70 once more to open the second path
the idea of the quests is to open all paths
If your are only talking about the quests which show you where to go you can ignore them, they will pop up until you unveiled every branch which are not necessary to progress. The 75 timeline has 3 branches to unlock.

I would first progress directly to the 90 ones (always right) to unlock the empowered. Then you can unlock the remaining branches by simple farming in empowered

Anyone that can help me with explaining armour shred? I want to know that if it is useful for a Lich build in which I have converted Harvest’s added damage to necrotic.
Armour shred shreds armour
Armour shred helps for all kind of hit damage
It reduces armour by 100 for every stack
So if you have an enemy with 10 stacks it has -1000 armour
Armour shred reduces enemy armour. Armour reduces hit damage taken. For physical damage it has more effect but it also is useful for all kind of other damage types (70% as effective).
Armour does not increase/reduce dot damage.
Alright, so at worst it will be 70% as effective in my case which is not bad still

The curve is the same for negative values
So if you get -1000 armor thats about 25% more physical hit damage ... only 10 stacks of shred needed
Does having a blessing for something like increased rings mean that, in theory, you're more likely to get an exalted ring if an exalted item drops? even if it is a low chance?

More rings drop so yes. It does not affect the drop rates of other item types (exalted gloves do not turn into an exalted ring drop).

I guess there is a "more" and a "increase"
axe doesn't do anything, unequipped
usually for crit multi there are only very few more sources. Most is +% which is increase and should just be add to the char sheet

I play hardcore and I play druid. I have enough crit to sustain Werebearform, but its close. I am looking into the specialization node Called Ursine Wisdome to get alot of mana efficiency. But the drawbacks seems dangerous for hardcore. Am I right? I dont want to learn the hard way that kicking me out of werebear form at 30% life is a boomer, if you know what I mean. 😛
Yes for hardcore the node can be dangerous. You should look into getting slightly more attunement to get more mana efficiency instead

Most damage scaling seems to be both attunement and strength for me as well, so I guess I can kinda switch focus from strenth to attunement without loosing DPS

I believe it was around 30-40 attunement when your swipe ends up costing 1,5 mana or so but you always refund 2 when you crit

I am at 55 crit now and on the same cost as the refund, so if Im unlucky after I use entangling roots I can run dangerously low 🙂

Quest echoes are how you proceed to the next timeline. Complete echoes to gain stability which can then be used to access the quest echoes by clicking on them once you reach the threshold.

An option of 3 blessings (on normal) which are permanent stat bonuses to your character. The bosses also drop unique/set items that are exclusive.
Stability is only used for quest echoes currently.

Killing a Timeline boss with 50+ corruption now offers 4 blessing choices, or 5 blessing choices at 200+ corruption.

Completing a Shade fight sets you back temporarily as it resets the web. You can complete a fight or two if you're interested as I think they're extremely fun but most people avoid them until they get to empowered timelines.

If I'm building for Smite and want to increase it's damage, and if I have a lot of Attunement already, would getting Spell Damage be multiplicative to damage scaling from Attunement or would it effectively be the same amount of damage between 16% Spell Damage and 4 Attunement.

I think there is only a small difference. There exist some stuff which is based on 'mana spent' and 'consumes' removes the mana without 'spending it' in the same sense

Anyone have tips for the second phase of the Majasa fight (The newest chapter boss)? The fact she can delete over half my health with most of her attacks, many with little telegraphing, is really frustrating. I've been trying to beat her for over an hour. Is there a specific resistance that can help with that phase, maybe?
Physical resistance for her flurry of attacks.
I had problems with a mage until I just ran in circles and hit once or twice
Saved teleport for escaping.
You can't stay still pretty much.
I'm also a mage. I've tried the same run around strategy, but just one mistake and I die, which is really frustrating when it takes several minutes to get to the 2nd phase every time. Her constant healing in the 2nd phase just makes it more annoying. And since Meteor is my main damage source I don't have any opportunities to hit her.

I've taken lots of Ward related passives too.
You can hit her while she's healing.
Yeah, but she usually heals more than I can deal. Even with a barrage of Arcane Ascendance buffed Meteors.
She gets healed a certain amount, so if you hit one or two meteors while she's healing she won't be full health.
Just wait until she has started healing, it should matter.

They inherit echo modifiers, as technically they are enemies, so beware of damage mods

There is one spire that gives a second explosion 2-3 seconds after the attack hits the ground. The second explosion’s dmg dmg is high enough to one-shot characters even if you have good defence.

Do I get anything extra by completing the three Echo quests again besides changing the blessings? Also, do blessings level up? I see a green circle around each of them.
The blue circle is how close to the maximum range the blessing rolled. You can see the range by pressing alt while hovering over it. Completing the quests again may interest you if you'd like a chance at a better roll. The bosses also drop exclusive uniques, each has 4 though some are locked behind empowered timelines.

I loved the shade boss.
Try to unlock empowered monoliths first. You have to finish each of the three level 90 monoliths first to do so.
After unlocking it you can do each monolith at are level 100 and unlock more powerful blessings
So, I should push monoliths until I get to the lvl 90 one?
If you can you should probably do it first before "farming" proper blessings

After you complete those walk to the island that connects them to unlock empowered.
That's what I meant with "if you can". If it is getting to difficult right now you can still farm some of the others. But your goal should be to finish all level 90 at least once to be able to get to the empowered monoliths. They have additional boss drops as well.

Yes they are working correctly. Fall of the Outcast rewards unique or set bows and quivers which can be seen at the Select Area Level screen, see attached picture.

Nah, just mana regeneration between channels
or decoy and run for a bit
Once your mana regen is 21 or 22, you'll feel goos
Until then, can use a mana generator like Puncture
for 21-22 you need like 150-160% inc mana regen tho right

22 would be 175% i think, yeah
i'm only at 53% and it's acceptable. not 100% uptime, and i'd definitely like an exalted mana regen item or two
ill give a try to that mana on hit node to see how it feels
since those 6 points do not add much in those adrenaline points
What gear piece can have leech on it? I would like t replace prism wraps but I can't find an alternative. (Fire sorcerer using nova; I've already taken the only leech passive from the tree but that's not enough).

With Fractured crown, the damage is first dealt to mana, then to hp, so you need less life and more mana

ah, you mean the affix shards. Dont know maybe changed your monitor setting a bit or the ingame settings? If all look the same it can be somehow realted to such a change. Or do you have different looking affix shards?
I don't feel that they look a lot different. The shards have a font with some transparency making them look lighter on lighter ground. Maybe that makes the difference for you?

It does not, unless it states so. For instance there's a global pen node in shaman that works for you and your minions @wide sentinel

say you leave a pile of DoT on the ground, then you start spinning
the DoT snapshots right?
For you to "snapshot it" I believe you would need to be spinning, thus have the buffs, then while spinning proc/use said DOTs.
Then if you stop spinning the DOTs should still be ticking as though you still have the stats, since you did when you first put them up.

The "Fissure" ground aoe should still have the fire pen because it had it when you first proc it

There are honestly a lot of games that update in real time / retroactively, but there are a lot of games that do have snapshotting. Both seem fine if balanced around it.

I can't think of a single example where dynamic updates allows the player to deal more damage than snapshotting.

They don't.
Capped resists are good but if your build has otherwise good defences not essential. The new chapter 9 mobs in monos (particularly the Scalebane Sorcerers) will likely rip you a new one though with their poison damage.
already past the chapters lvl 78 and working to unlock empowered's rn
you drop a consecrated ground and then use sigils of hope to get buffs, but it won't apply to the ground you've dropped already
in general snapshotting will help players if it exits though as they'll make sure to take advantage but doesn't mean dynamic won't feel good sometimes if you don't play "optimally"

basically anything is empowered viable
lich is super fast for like anything under about 350-400 ish corruption
bladedancer is pretty quick and super tanky, can pretty easily just stand in most boss abilities
sentinel can be pretty quick and tanky
static orb sorc is pretty quick
spriggan form is pretty good
I've yet to play something that didn't feel like it just absolutely destroyed baseline empowered monos, though
they're usually a little sketchy to me in solo
like i have to avoid dmg mods
but that's cause you're usually like mid 80s or so when you first get to empowered
most well built characters are fine dmg wise though
yeah felt same for me on mage ; the defenses were bit of an issue since mobs hit like a truck there
yeah if you aren't playing a mage with easy chill/slow application it's iffy
usually being able to slow melee mobs a bunch kite helps, and just flame ward ranged
probably iffy now with the ch 9 teleporters
