what are some of the gear slots that have slot-specific affixes (not implicits)? ie boots are the only slot that can have affix movement speed...
maybe a short video helps, as you can see there are no monster to interrupt or something
I had to manually release the key for the ability for it to 'explode'

I have got a question. I purchased Last Epoch via Steam, after launching the game it required me to create an Account, which wasn't possible ingame. So I did it on the Website, so far , so good. Now I launched the game again (acc is verified). Tried to login via the Games Login Screen, and get a "Failed to Link Account" error message. hi, for the fractured crown gambling, do i need to have high lvl mage to spawn the gilded crown in the gambler? or i can just use another class to gamble for the gilded crown

You had to go through and select every affix to hide, rather just hiding all then showing specific affixes you want

10 are boss specific, two of which are empowered specific. the rest are world drops.
and obviously can only drop in zones with their required level or high
Basically the filter is showing that item because it doesn't fit every requirement of your conditions, meaning the affix is not hidden
If you have conflicting conditions on a rule it won't necessarily work like you expect

if your build can handle it, would highly recommend setting up for max movement if you're farming a low corruption empowered or normal monos
it's a huge time save
if you can cut your boss loop time down to like 30 minutes or so

yeah, if your build can handle higher corruption or sacrifice damage/survival for movement speed uniques you can get it super fast
like last patch on lich I had boss loops down to 17 minutes for Stolen Lance
can someone explain impair the weak for abyssal echoes? does it make the decay damage only apply when the enemies is hit by other skills? and if so whats the benefit of that
I keep being stunned and losing my cooldown on Rebuke, is this intended? Is it because I get stunned in the wind-up animation and thus not gaining the stun-immunity?

Lol my rebuke just failed 10 times in a row, ran out of potions and died
this is damn near unplayable for no apparent reason

@stone granite can u try using it in the middle of a move-animation? Look for ~half a second where the animation doesnt play
also, do you have any cast speed?
I have zero cast speed bonuses and I can use it to interrupt warpath no problem

Dodge is fine, but only some classes/builds can make good use of it

On bladedancer you can definitely get good dodge, but like any build, you need to layer defenses
At level 49 that’s basically just gonna be like

You want to get flat dodge from passives/skill effects
And at most you might use increased dodge on weapons

hey guys, newbie here, Is there a way to farm the unique boots morningfrost? I've been doing echos in spirits of fire non stop for a very long time now and havent seen any unique boots nodes, wondering if im doing something wrong or if theres another way to getting them?
they can just drop, but being a low level unique they're less likely to drop at higher levels
luckily, they're relatively common rarity-wise

Just for future information, there shouldn't be any reason to tp back to town instead of just continuing. Zones reset when you leave them and in the endgame you can't leave without automatically failing.
On that note, it's also important to know that you can press F to use the forge wherever, for crafting or shattering.
@stone granite not completely accurate. You can tp out of an echo and it doesnt fail the echo, you can use it to reroll the mob type.

you probably just have it set up wrong
though I'm not sure how you'd set it to do that

You won't see an icon for every buff as they try to limit them. The import ones are to the right of your health orb.
Mike apparently did add a bunch this patch, but not all of them.

its a flat value, 8. its not based on anything other then that.
Obviously mana regen increases it, so 100% increased regen gets you 16 and so on.

No, resistance pen is applied after the cap; overcapping resistance is not helpful for pen.
You effectively have at most 0% resistance on higher levels when capping your resistance; game is balanced around this. Overcapping resistance only helps against debuffs like mark of death (not sure about the name) which reduces your resistance (different to pen)
and how important is it to cap tbh? im sitting at 60-75+ atm and its np in lvl 75-80 content
Each % resistance under 75 makes you take 1% more damage, once you're at area level 75+. Below that it's slightly different but not notably so.
It's different to PoE (if you are familiar). Because it is balanced around havin effectively 0% resistance it is not as important as in PoW
70% resistance means 5% more damage taken, instead of PoE's 20%.

to put it simply:
Try to get close to 75% but not forcing it is usually enough. dont waste too much damage
capped res, means you're res is at the same number as the area level. Or at 75, if area level is above 75.
So for example: First timeline/mono is lvl 58, so you only need 58 res to be capped for it
well damage is a joke so far...everthing dies while spinning through it^^
it matters more when you're pushing content
or going into stuff very underlevelled
Even in 58 timelines going for 75% resistance boosts your survivability. You effectively have 17% damage reduction this way

Monsters get penetration based on level. Pen reduces resistance. You can still get to 75% but only lose 58% res in 58 level areas.
But it mostly wont matter as in low level zones you will rarely have any problems 😄

I just said that getting 75% resistance even has a benefit in areas below level 75. Aurora first said that you have maximum damage reduction at 58% resistance in 58 zones which is wrong.

No, its not. The only thing that having more than 58 res in level 58 areas is going to do for you is that you'll have some protection against shred. Other than that its just as useless as having more than 75% resistances in level 75+ areas.

The resistance cap always is 75%. Which would reduce your damage taken by 75%. Enemies penetrate your resistance based on area level. Penetration is applied after applying the resistance cap. With 75% resistance in an area level 40 you have effectively 35% resistance and thus a 35% damage reduction.

You are right. But you have to change your mindset a little if used to PoE. As in PoE it is the most important stat for EHP. Here you should consider to skip the last percent resistance for other more useful stats if you would lose a lot!

The take away atleast for me as a poe player too, is that in last epoch there is still a choice to be made. I much prefer the LE system of resistences so far vs any other arpg ive played because Ive played a few builds well into 80 monos with literally like 20% of some res, yeah you might die if you screw up. but you generally have a pretty wide choice on how you tackle items because of the great way they chose to handle resistances.

Inc in skill trees is mostly always its own multiplier and acts like a more multiplier for this skill. Most of the time it will say (multipicative). There is only a difference for buffs provided by skills. They should differ between inc and more.

'inc dmg' that's in your skill tree is an additive multiplier , but it's effectively a more multiplier if you don't have many of those nodes
there isnt anything in between those two, or mixing them up afaik, and if there is thats probably a bug/tooltip mistake
If a Skill has a talent which grants increased damage with the statemant '(multiplicative)' it acts like a more multiplier

Yeah, maybe they finally changed most of the wording. But at some point there were some cases where skills had increase in the description but provided more damage

there is something seriously wrong with this system to target farm uniques, im level 90+ now have been spamming spirits of fire non stop for hours on end, and only saw the unique boots node once this entire time, im trying to get a lvl 7-8 unique thats supposed to be fairly common - morningfrost- but it just doesnt drop for me 😕

The "Righteous Overload" node on Smite requires the smite Hit to kill it's target or does it proc from Ignites caused by Smite?

same as with items with %chance to ignite on hit etc...
the tooltip dps isnt the most amazing thing, but its more there to give a general idea
if you understand where damage is coming from, you can use it as a fairly good guide as to what piece of gear is an upgrade

Yes, generic minion damage buffs everything the minions do. And if its a specific type of damage, say melee or spell, then Melee minion damage will buff all types of that damage.

What are the best builds people are finding this patch? Everything I've been playing has been falling off at 75+ Either getting blasted by damage or just not being able to get enough single target.
lighting damage vs lightning penetration. Which is better?
it's not an either/or, get both
penetration in almost every realistic case
but technically it depends on how much penetration/shred you have and how much increased damage you have
on "normal" builds, 1% penetration = 5% inc dmg give or take. on poison builds, just probably ignore it as you should have enough from poisons

poison is a good example of when pen is worse, because it is additive with all of the shred from poison stacks

Monsters will still be level 90 so monolith doesn't scale with your level

for leveling purposes,lis it better to go to the highest level monolith you have unlocked or just try to stick to the closest to your level? (if there's some kind of -xp malus for being too low lvl for the zone or something)

@brittle atlas corruption does increase area level, but as empowered are already at 100 you only see it in normals, and those are capped at how high the area level can go, because corruption is capped at 50 in them

Try changing the anti aliasing options. The SMAA is bugged.
During leveling he probably kept several points to use them after. Sometimes it's better keep a point and put it in your mastery (Sorcerer) rather than in your class (Mage)

At the beginning you can spend points in your base class only. Then, at Chapter 4, you chose your mastery. Then, you can spend points in your base class, in your whole mastery tree or in the first half of the trees of the other masteries

@timber temple void + phys in first chapters, add in necrotic after you pick mastery, then lightning+cold when you get to the snowy places, then everything else when you get to act 9. Fire might be useful at some point before act 9, but I've never felt a need to get it up

To avoid crit hits, plus typically on the suffix of weapons I’m taking another suffix. Depends on the build, but a lot of my builds focus around another modifier such as freeze rate for my shammy or slow for soft CC and AoE effectiveness

Yeah, every single other damage modifier acts as "normal" (50% more or increased = x1.5), except crit multi
To be fair 'Critical Strike Multiplier' is the only Multiplier in the game, others are sources of 'More' which are handled as a Multiplicative Group based at 1 whereas 'Increases' are an additive group based at 0.
50% more damage isn't strictly a multiplier though. The equivilent multiplier should be 1.5x multiplier.

If I lose my internet during gameplay, is there any chance anything weird will happen with the steam sync and i lose my game progress?
Right now saves are local, internet connection should not impact save functionality by itself
Not sure if steam defers to local saves or not I believe it does
Cloud sync can do wonky stuff if the process cannot finish. I do suggest backing up your saves periodically.
I just cut it during gameplay and the game crashed, then I remembered you have to login to play. So I believe that means you need a permanent internet connection

From my understanding only Chat and login authentication requires an internet connection. I’m at work now so I can’t test but I am fairly sure others have disabled their internet connection after logging in. Although I do not know if they did while using Steam or the direct launcher

i tried getting into PoE for about 25ish hours from D2 and PD2 and just couldnt this on the other hands looks slightly harder than D3 but much more in my visual and game alley
so just dive in no guide for first playthrough?
Maybe look for a fun playstyle you would like to try later to search for a mastery but first try to build something on your own based around this mastery. This way you have a "fall-back" and you dont need to level another cahracter when it doesnt work out

Suddently my loot filter drop down went empty, and everytime i open the loot filter menu, it wants me to create a new loot filter, even though the 5 i normally use is already in the filters folder, but i cant select any of them, because the drop down doesnt show any ? Maybe 12-15 months since my last playthrough, but with the same items and crit meteor does at least twice the dmg it's kinda useless to play Glacier when you see this.

attribute scaling applies to dots when used by the scaled ability correct?
Don't be afraid to craft early game. if you are dying to void damage, craft void res onto your gear

The system on how to craft onto it, i figured out i can upgrade the stats themselves
you can just upgrade the stats already on your items if the affix (stat) is the one you want. other wise, if you have an open affix you can add a stat to it.

an item can have 4 affixes. 2 prefixes and 2 suffixes. on the crafting screen the item is in the middel of them. if you have an open affex you can click on the big + below the item to add an affix

If it's the lard ones that create multiple void damage areas on the ground, they give you a short moment to move away from their spell. Don't stand in it unless you have really good defenses since they're balanced around being avoided.

The shadow cleaver one-handed axe has way, way more added damage. I'd personally opt for that, I think.
I also hoped that the shadow cleaver would outclass the nagasa scymitar, but the sword just has so much attack speed and increased damage over time that I can't find the right combinations of affixes for the cleaver to do more damage

If your build revolves around DoT you probably can't make good use of a Katana. What DoT do you use?

Added spell damage will likely out scale any DoT implicits. Time rot has a 12 stack limit, Abyssal Echoes is a spell that has 305% added spell damage effectiveness.

How do people deal with being surrounded and just attacked quickly? I noticed on rogue its easy i just daah oit bit for other characters it seems harder during the story
I lunge to a ranged enemy that's away from the group. If you have a more instant spell like transplant, you can aim behind obstacles even.

I've got a kind of better version of one of my belts, but it gives more ward and no cleansing. trying to decide whether to craft it or stick with what I have

chill or slow can get you killed
and they don't apply that often there
little more situational in monoliths because usually it's either you're getting a bunch applied constantly (so you'd need temp immunity) or none at all

Completing echoes gives you stability which is used to complete the timeline quests

Does damage over time cancel out "Deadly if not damaged recently" or is that only cancelled by direct hits?

Yupp, the most popular uniques tend to be defensive uniques, there are some really good offensive ones as well
if i understand this correctly if i unspec a skill point it lowers the level of the skill and i would have to re-level it up brfore i can spend that point again?

I think one or two are tied to idol unlocks and the one has a unique relic in it
Anyone know exactly how conversion works for javelin? Do all types of flat damage melee damage get converted to lightning? What about % melee damage? The tooltip doesn't really specify
