empowered monos and grab the xp books/arena monos.
if you're still in normal monos, just keep progressing towards empowered
try to be quick in echoes and maximize your stability gain, finish the quest echoes, and move to the next timeline asap
should be like...15-20 echoes on most timelines to finish

Hey guys, sorry quick question, I've just gotten to the Monolith endgame and I am not sure about the stability - is there any reason to continue doing echoes after you unlock the third quest?
(Other than to farm loot/xp, of course.)
If you're just reaching normal monoliths you'll want to gain enough stability to run the 3 quests then move onto the next timeline.

Completing the 3 level 90 timelines will unlock legendary (empowered) monoliths which are level 100 and reward improved blessings among other benefits.

And to the others here: If I convert Maelstrom to physical, but add cold damage via Shaman's "shattered heavens", will that be converted?
No
only the base damage will be
so for instance
if you convert maelstrom to phys
and have adaptive spell damage
it will convert to phys
but if a node specifies a damage type
I.e. shattered heavens
it will stay that damage type
so for instance blade of the forgotten knight gives you like 50 flat spell void damage
it will act as void damage even if you add it to something like fireball for instance
That's very useful to know. If the node specifies "adds base x damage", that would convert, right?
If the conversion says that it converts the base damage only, and there's a node that says it adds another type of damage, that is not base damage, its added damage.
For reference, hungering souls' "necrotic pact" adds base necrotic damage.
It would make sense if it did that because otherwise, using "fire skull" would render it useless.
That's why I think added base damage is converted, but it may not be correct.
Yes, that's the exception and not the rule usually -- it does specify base necrotic damage.
hi, noob question: when I respec a skill and it lowers down to it's minimum level, what's the fastest way for me to get it to 'catch back up'? As an example I had level 11 skeleton warriors and they went down to 4
Play normally at that point is probably best, its easy and catches up relatively fast

Hello everyone. When I got the game I started it at 20 fps. I changed quality settings, frame rate limits, shadows quality, any resolution and any screen mode. Steady fps. I thought dck this its still playable and and I passed lvl 44 on the campaign and then some mobs doing lightning damage reduced it to 5fps with their lightning effects.

Yeah the lightning does bring FPS down a bit more than I think it should, generally speaking

As it is most often different for each build there will be no general list. Just try to get the information from the videos maybe. They often provide a buildplaner link
The way damage is calculated, having too much of one stat makes another more effective. It'll switch around frequently so I don't think people will go to the length and calculate a priority list for their build.
For most skills there are generally 3 pools of accumulated multipliers: Flat damage, increases and cast/attack speed. You should try to distribute stats of these pools evenly, if they can provide you with a good benefit (for instant casts cast speed does nothing). Chance to bleed/poison/... can be of similar value if build around but are most often suffixes.
Any sources of more-like multiplier are often better when you have a decent amount of these base stats. Skill-Levels often can provide additional more multiplier with more skill points as can cooldown recovery.
Attributes are in most cases a compromise of some damage and defense like for int or strength (skill-specific scaling as well as additional armour resp. ward retention).
You should try to distribute stats of these pools evenly I disagree with that. It's a lot harder to get hold of flat damage than it is the other two & it's easier to get hold of attack/cast speed than it is increased damage.

You should always prefer the pool where the addition yields the biggest percentage increase when comapring to your current amount of these stats
And due to more damage multipliers multiplicative nature, having more of them is usually better than having fewer of them (assuming the totals aren't too far apart). If you had the choice between 2x 50% more multipliers or 1x 100% more, the 2x 50% would be better (1.5 x 1.5 = 2.25 = 125% more damage in total)

They are generally only additive within one source. For a talent which providing 10% more per point you have to add them first to get the final unique more multiplier

@woeful comet the stuff in the passive tree is for 'Lightning Strike', Tempests Strike proc is 'Lightning Bolt' so no, 2 different things

but thats mainly because i cant seem to get it to proc on anything
so im unsure if 1) it just doesnt work on the dummy, or 2) its not a seperate damage number

From what I can gather from testing with the passives in, and with them out, and using temepest strike on no enemy but surrounded by enemies, Tempest Strike procs the lagons answer lightning strike. If the procs do or don't seems impossible to figure out, as you'd never know if it was tempest strike, or the proc from it, that procced lagons answer lightning strike.
(basically if you have enemies behind and to your sides, and your using tempest strike on the ground in front of you with lightning bolt disabled in the nodes, lightning is hitting 1 enemy around you roughly every 3 seconds. So it appears that its tempest strike proccing it)
Would also assume that the 'target location' is literally just nearby based on this (which is the ring around the target dummy in the end of time)
Cheers for the prompt answer! I've noticed ever since I used the final node with those lightning strike multipliers on the passive tree, my damage has skyrocketed with tempest strike + stormtotem
Now the real interesting question, is wether tempest strike benefits from both melee attack speed, and cast speed 👀

So it must be poccing not just from the melee component, but the spell one too. I use it and big boom lightning eq, storm totem and ravens. Super fun build

so sometimes when i level up, there is an icon with a plus symbol that appears, but it just takes me to the skills menu and theres nothing there to do
the icon is like a side profile of a dudes head with a visible brain
means new skill was unlocked.

Generally you would want cold, lightning (beam, forward cone, tidal waves, moon circle) and physical res (tentacle slam, flayer shark adds).

There are meta builds for all the classes, none of them need to be avoided in that sense.
The most powerful ones are a poison lich and an EQ werebear at the moment.
But unless you wanna reach the top of the ladder, you don't need to limit yourself to these.

if you're looking to push arena, then werebear, taunt necro, blade dancer are your top picks imo

i'd guess it's less about being humble and more about knowing their own builds strengths. 😁
yeah, werebear is easy to play and can facetank a lot of stuff that deletes other builds
so it's quite forgiving of mistakes that would otherwise be run-ending

Magic gear is useful for crafting

Yes.
Magic gear has 1-2 affixes, rares have 3-4
And exalted can have any amount but 1 (or more) will be t6 or 7 affixes (drop only)
You can check by the number of dots before/after the name (1 dot per prefix/suffix)

for this, I think purple means it has a tier 6-7 mod

YELLOW - ENDENDgame Items (3+ Affixes you want with 8+ total Tiers)
PINK - Exalted/Set/Unique Items
WARNING: Unused Base Types and Non ROGUE Class Items ARE HIDDEN
NEW: How to Use!
This filter is designed to be used for leveling and for endgame. Green items are very basic items designed to get you going. Once you’ve reached level 20+ or notice lots of blue/red items. Uncheck all the green rules, as you no longer need basic items. Once finished with the campaign, you can also uncheck blue rules. Red/Yellow is all you need once your farming in endgame. This will significantly reduce the amount of items you see and they will be better bases.

as soon as he moves to do the beam, you watch where he's going to be faced and move away from that

or even just the unique boots that shock you but have 30% movement speed
or transient rest or w/e
I have like 30% move speed increase on my boots
then you should be plenty fast to avoid all of the boss telegraphs

lagon is really one of the easiest boss fights as long as you can grasp the mechanics

when you see him back his head and eye turn red, the laser will shoot where you were when his eye turned red
its actually very easy to avoid
also if u have something that stuns
like i believe lunge can stun
you can cancel him with it if you're in a bad position

you should be lunging on him pretty much on cooldown anyway since you get a lot of buffs from lunge, no?

for void knights, what sentinel idol mods are the best?
i got two with increased void with echo
more block, armor, endurance/threshold, resist. you know, the basic stuff
its up to you to choose what defenses you want to focus on and what gear drops for you
there's a void knight node that reduces block chance and block effectiveness by 40% total
sentinel has quite a lot of passives that help with armor and block, im pretty sure, so id probably focus on those
and increases void damage by 100%
imo you want at least like 2k hp on vk
capped endurance is huge, obviously capped crit avoidance
capped crit avoidance isnt really important until end end game
although it isnt really hard to cap anyway
I mean, it's super easy to cap on sentinel once you get the CSA bases

To get the critical strike chance for these minions you have to add the +basecrit to the default minion crit and multiply it by your increased critical strike chance.

The figures on the character screen won't include skill specific modifiers, so any skele crit buffs you have don't show up there.

Aura of Decay doesn't hit so modifiers which apply ailments on hit don't affect AoD

well, Liaths Tower has a shrine that always spawns.. if that information is worth anything to you
its more effective to farm echoes over shrines

From what I have read in the past, which is subject to change, that there is a small possibility for one prior to MP coming out. The major work is on the MP for now and rest of this patch series will probably be centered around making the current classes feel and work better.

A question regarding the element type of a spell/attack:
If a spell has the lightning tag but gets added flat fire, the added fire part will scale with all tags of the skill expect the specific non-fire element modifiers, right? In the end the only thing this elemental tag shows me, is that the base damage has the lightning tag and adaptive spell damage is added as lightning, right?

To be more descriptive, I am assuming that the higher the area level (not item level, not character level), the higher the chance of T3, T4, T5...T7 affixes. If you're adding flat X element damage to a skill with Y element tags then the X damage will scale with any appropriate damage modifiers (assuming it doesn't get converted to a different element).
Yes, you have a higher chance of the higher tiers spawning on items once you're above their minimum level. For t6/7 affixes this is based on the character level (if you're a lvl 100 character in a lvl 55 zone you'll see more t6 affixes than a lvl 55 character would) as far as I'm aware/in my experience. Not sure about the non-exalted affixes but I'd assume the same counts for them too.
Essentially this tag thus is only relevant for adaptive added flat damage? All other scaling sources are applied do damage if it has damage of its element and not if the skill has the tag.
And unique affixes/passives
If you want the % chance to ignite for fire skills from Calamity you'll need to have a skill with the fire tag

and it gives me a choice for some timelines - 60 or 65
I saw someone say 65 is better yesterday
so I pick 65
it give me 3 crappy choices
but now I can do it all over again
will I get another reward to choose from? And are they always the same?
Should I pick 60 this time, or go for 65 again?
Each timeline has its dedicated pool of blessings that will be randomly selected in each completion. If you want rewards from that pool, re-run it
Chose 60, you will open both paths. And you should get other reward choices
There are timelines with drop-related blessings and some with useful stuff like damage/resistance/...
The once which offer you loot stuff will always offer lootstuff. It is rarely good to run them again for blessings only.

in general, there's no reason to rerun normal monoliths unless you want a boss drop

Yeah, you can get 2 1H implicits which are generally better and fit more niches than 1 2H implicit. And since 1H affixes are multiplied by 1.75 and 2H affixes are multiplied by 3.2, having 2 1H means you have 1.75+1.75=3.5 instead of 3.2 aka ~10% better affixes

Necromancers are more powerful than that, even.
You can gain unbelievable amounts of ward by just constantly casting zombies, having them die and leeching some of their HP as ward when they die.
Those are 3 functions that all give you ward if you skill for it.
But if you'd like to just sit back, get a golem with the increased threat node and stack HP on it.
you can also do both at the same time
They have different affix pools and different amounts of total stats available. dual wielding tends to be slightly more damage while 2H doesn't take 15% increased damage, though dual wield being more damage really depends on the skill, what weapons you can use, etc.
hit-rate for dual wielding just averages your attack rate
you don't hit twice as often while dual wielding

Its likely the fact that the Axe has both bleed and ignite chances and 36% increased damage over time.

You have to rerun the monolith that unlocked the first one and choose to unlock the second one (I can't remember the timeline names...) But at the level 55 monolith, you chose to unlock the "left" monolith path, now you have to rerun it and unlock the "right" monolith path

Crit strike chance is your 5% base + any global flat crit * any global crit increases

so if you want to know what your crit chance is for a melee skill, look at the melee crit stat

Other games (such as PoE) put their damage range on the weapon / skill gem (ie, the beginning of the damage calculation). LE puts it at the end.

Regarding your gender question in ask the devs - Mike mentioned last stream that we wouldn't see it until after multiplayer if I recall correctly.

Multiplayer? Yes but it takes a lot of time. I think it's safe to say the gender customization isn't even being worked on currently.
That doesn't mean it's not important, they would just rather flesh out the base game first.
And prioritize optimization.
I'm not a dev but suspect it wouldn't take them that long to replace the character models. but multiplayer is what the game needs first
And add animations and voice lines.
And if upcoming skill effects are added or reworked then they would have twice the amount of work for those as well.
Having gender options for each class means doubling the number of animations, refitting or altering existing armor models effectively doubling them as well, getting voice work done, making sure any gendered pronouns in dialogue get appropriately set to change, etc.
It’s a pretty large undertaking for what is ultimately not a large benefit

you could make that argument for plenty of games though. for example, in the Dragon Age series Hawke is a specific person (which is why you can only play as a human), but you can still customize their appearance and body type
CP2077 has you play as V, a specific person, and you can customize their appearance and body type
Shepard and Ryder from Mass Effect are other examples
I’m sure that because they’re rpgs there’s more freedom for player choice in their backstory (and I will admit I forgot about the beginning cutscene because my computer lagged through the whole thing), but I do think you don’t need to change their backstories simply because you changed their gender
I think that makes sense for more choice driven games where you have more control over the narrative
for example I know the primalist had a wife and children but that’s something a female primalist could also have
I really depends what the game is trying to do, I guess. Not every game needs or wants the player to self insert. Sometimes you’re just playing through the story of someone else.
Not saying that EHG won’t or shouldn’t provide gender options at some point, just that I don’t think it’s something the game necessarily has to have depending on how they want to handle the characters.

I agree that not every game needs options to create a self insert, but I don’t think in this case customization options would get in the way of LE’s story. only time it does imo is during more narrative heavy games, and arpgs are definitely not that 😂

Yeah, I think the real limiting or deciding factor is more the resources and time needed to create or modify art assets for it than anything else.

yea my sent face tanks emp mono's then takes that BIG unnecessary danger death. even with 1k health regen. tanks are not immortal

I believe you unlock masochist by beating the current campaign
Monoliths you'll get to at the end of the campaign
they start at level 55
Though you can go into them as soon as you get to the end of time if you really want
