Does anyone here have any input to help me choose between phys wolves or lightning wolves? I'll be starting phys wolves but I'm not sure if I should start farming for howl of the west wind asap and transition to lightning or simply stick to phys and scale that.
Phys can transition into squirrels. Squirrels are busted.

It's not that I specifically don't want to go squirrels. I just don't want to farm it. So I'm more interested in knowing if lightning or phys wolves are considered stronger

it is accurate in calculating your stats into a dps number, it wont count special effects or buffs you would have during combat or stuff like that

at lvl 8, the tooltip is likely prettya ccurate since there arent many numbers. at higher levels that actually matter, it is not accurate at all
The tooltip can't account for a plenthora of things like temporary buffs, enemy defenses, etc. Its not even in the same realm as accruate. Its a very rough estimate.
which is also why we have dummies in chapter 7, to get a better idea of our baseline damage

if you want to compare a 100% increased physical damage weapon to a 40% crit weapon, tooltip is roughly good enough to give you a dps increase/decrease

and this is where the tooltip starts getting weird and inaccurate

I know, we've had something similar before where the issue has been related to having certain skills bound to RMB to LMB via move-to-attack

you can just make a stash tab for every type of unique, for example body armour, boots, and so on.
there is no auto sort like poe but at the end you will have the same result

flat is good all the time
Nothing frog themed yet, but I figure itd have to go on primalist or acolyte at some point
% kinda depends on how much other % you have. flat is also a lot harder to get. so if you can get flat, its pretty much always the choice.

there will be tons of balance changes at 1.0, no one knows what they are. anything you build now will need to get tweaked at minimum
highly doubt anything would be a total bust tho

very fun and rewarding to play around with
it is rather complex in comparison to other stuff but therefore offers alot of options and stuff you can try out

well, dont do that when its getting close to the aoe attack
all the bosses in the game have a very simple 4-6 attack pattern.
learn it and you solved 90% of the issues
if you're unsure what it's going to do next, you can just make sure you're not right in melee range of it when it finishes a skill
yeah, i feel like i picked the "worst" build to start with when it comes to mobility
if you're already halfway out of the area when it starts then it's very easy to leave
channled skills are not highly liked for many reasons, that being one of them

I unlocked empowered monoliths and was wondering if I should run them if I die like half the time or just level up in normal monos? also, is it worth it to run dungeons to get gear or are monoliths the answer to everything?
as long as you arent insta dying when mobs look at you stay in empowered. dying doesnt really do anything in game(just losing the echo reward). so as long as you dont mind dying empowered is going to give you more xp and better mob kill loot.
monoliths are almost always better, save for some cases where exalted drop mods are on the dungeon.

No.
if you find a mono you feel comfortable clearing spend some mor etime and grind out the mobs ther , also keep an eye on mono mods and dont take the ones that harm your build the most

How will seasons work in this game? Is new content locked behind new seasons, or can I play non-seasonal and still get new content?

every cycle, every alt. this isnt D4 where the world levels up with you, which makes that possible. its a static world...so there has to be something there to get your levels

is there a gerneral rule of thumb how much increase in corruption increases difficulty? just added +15 and noticed nothing
each 2 corruption is 1% hp and dmg. so its really build/gear dependant on how much you can handle

I'm trying to farm Herald of the Scurry from the Black Star Monolith. However do you get higher probability of finding Exclusive echo reward nodes on Empower or is it just the same between norm/empowereD?
normal monos dont have the increased legendary node thing
much much higher on empowered
and also better other drops while you're farming
don't farm on normal is basically a hard rule
no matter what you're farming

there are some uniques and nodes in trees that convert base damage. but if you have like +30 melee fire...thats gonna stay fire

One of the more multis is additive when dual wielding, the other more multi is just that non-stacking buff, so it doesn't stack

is there like a general filter i can use for bow rogue
like I tried making my own but the rules are all over the place
cinder strike has been pretty fun so i tried to make one for that but it didnt go well lmao
I tried maybe 1 or 2 peoples filters and it was very janky and made me question why some things were checked in there
is there smth specific you were struggling with
the easiest way to approach filters is to start low and expand the fartehr you go into your build
i tried that but it only got worse
so for example you can start with smth very simple like
show all rares with x affixes you wanna use
recolor uniques
recolor exalts
hide normal/magic/rare
those 4 rules will get rid of 90% of clutter already
and the recolor is optional btw, i just liek to emphasize nameplates
i tried putting resist stuff and it just threw like 50 items at me that were just bad
I set it to with at least 2 affixes on the item
resist is a very generic affix that you get like on every second item
i would filter for more specific rare stuff, and craft those generic affixes afterwards on the item
that narrows it down by alot
so should i remove the resists? and keep stuff like elemental resist or something or should i remove that too
i would remove resists alltogether personally
look at it this way : open your materials ( right side under idols "view materials")
you will see how many affix shards you have of each type
that will give you an idea whats rare and what is not
is there anyway to get avarice after the chapter 2 quest thing? i messed up and got the necklace instead
i am sure you have hundreds of resistance shards already
Why is it that when i take of a +1 skill item it seems to remove a random node and not the most recent i put in?
there is another version in a dungeon but that's hard to get
you get that quest with every char though, so you can grab those next time
to stop gear swapping for bosses being good

for the blessing "increased helmet shards drop rate" does that include all affixes that can appear on a helmet? including for example class specific shards?

yea
specifically +level skill shards are still rare shards to drop, so dont expect to be showered with them, it's just a little boost
if you are looking for specific affix shards it's best to make a lootfilter for those and get them out of items by using rune of shattering
or if you get a high tier roll rune of removal

Do I understand mono's? If you want to move from mono to mono and it's hard, you want to get as much stability out of every echo as possible, but if it's easy and you don't care about getting more mods, it's better to just complete the echo and go to the next? I'm a newb if it wasn't obvious, just trying to figure things out before launch
the extra stability is just for some extra progression while doing the mono objective, it's not smth you need to focus on
if you struggle generally with monoliths keep an eye on the modifiers they will add to your run and avoid the difficult ones

well that depends if you want to farm the boss for either their drops or blessings
if you want to min max your corruption you would generally avoid the more difficult modifiers
monos are changing in 1.0, mods wont be nearly as strong and it'll be scaling on corruption mainly instead
but other than that just blast as many monos as you can for the rewards
I played a long time ago as well, and vagely remember a way to clear mods before the boss too, but I dont remember how.

Your minions don't benefit from any of your stuff unless specifically stated, specialization trees included. That said, they have mostly intentionally changed the names of the minion-used copies of player skills to help with that. Sacrifice is the last one that got missed, I think.

I'm trying to target farm Exsanguinous. I've done 98 empowered echoes in Blood, Frost, and Death and still no Exsanguinous. Which begs the question if I were in the merchant's guild right now could I afford to buy one assuming I met all of the other qualifications. How much would an Exsanguinous with no LP go for in your opinion? What about with 1 LP?

it's hard to know without knowing what you struggled with. especially because PoE is generally agreed to be co-op unfriendly but D4 isn't at all
In my case, it's about the lack of "need" rather than the lack of possibility.
I never found anything "easier" to do as 2 than alone.

b) that said, I think it's true of all of them that it's technically optimal to play in a party if you min max party composition and division of labour

LE is very forgiving on co-op and it's definitely easier to kill stuff, but it's not a big deal? it's mostly just like solo play except you have someone else next to you

if i use Areial Assult and have the node that it also casts umbral blade will those scale from my dmg or my falcons? and also if they apply shadow daggers will the shadow dagger dmg scale from me or the falcon (and if its the falcons what happends if i apply 2 stacks and then the falcon 2 stacks)? 🙂
shadow daggers is unaffected by specific tree scaling, its only affected by its tags

how do you unlock the black sun which i assume is the last monolith timeline? clear the alternatives?
you get a choice which way you wanna go when you clear "fall of the outcasts"
if you choose the higher lvl option it will lead you to black sun
it is generally recommended to get to the lvl 90 timelines as fast as possible so you can unlock empowered monoliths (the lvl 100 versions of each timeline)
once you have done that you can jump from timeline to timeline without restrictions

hi, brand new to the game and to the comunity, so ill ask here:
im wondering if there is a way to see all of the curent damage tipes and values that im doing with my attacks
there is no detailed skill specific stat sheet currently
like i mainly use physical mele, but there are some elemental mele damage atributes scatered around the items
and im having a bit of a trouble memorising all of the different tipes and values
for example this is by far the most DPS weapon i have found thus far
and i can tell if the lighting increas is doing much or not
or is my dps going up becaouse of the crit multiplier
independent of which damage type you use
you have alot of flat damage on that spear and ALOT of crit multiplier in your implicit
that alone will boost your damage significantly
the % lightning would only apply to the flat lighntning dmage you have
for clarens im beastmaster and im using swipe as main damage
have you turned swipe into lightning dmage? i think there is a node for that
if not then no, % light does nothing for you

Ironically earth-themed skills like Earthquake or Upheaval are physical melee attacks and not even spells. But they surely do look the part. And you can probably play that kind of build, it has some built in synergy.

they are changing it so the bigger portion of difficulty increase comes from corruption

Haven't tested this in-game but I doubt that the bear could apply the aspect to your saber cause it's not the bear's companion. But the bear should apply it to itself.
