What are the best ways to farm for gear if empowered mono is too difficult? Just running normal mono seems to not offer many gear improvements via drops. Every echo run feels the same with little to no reward.
You might have a filter or strategy issue
I am using filters from maxroll.gg. Usually with capped resistances, around ~1.5-2k health+ward, several thousands of DPS.
what exactly is the bottleneck for you, do you die alot? cant kill fast enough that it feels good?
Dying against mono bosses and Orobyss and not enough clear speed.
the first jump into empowered monoliths can be a struggle...you are normally 15-20 levels below. can still grind a few levels out in 90's and get the max xp
do you have critical strike avoidance? if you play an armour class maybe also endurance?
Also hard hitting rare enemies might be a trouble sometimes too.
even if your defenses seem alright, most people forget about some sort of sustain outside of potions, do you have leech or smth else?
I do have it capped with one of the builds. Specifically shatter strike spellblade. With ward gain on hit.

a Spellblade should have active in-combat ward in the multiple thousands
like, 7-8k types
and even then it's still an active playstyle, like you can't sit there and facetank stuff
thats an extremel broad question, generally it depends on what skilsl you wanna use and how you wanna build your char
you want a solid mix of damage so you can kill stuff fast enough and a good defensive barrier
defense sheet?
I'd recommend getting Necro res up if you can, while it's not an insanely common damage type, the things that DO use it can hit pretty hard
do you have sustain utside of leech? since that helmet removes leech if im correct
general crafting advice can be found on youtube (aaron has a good crafting video, amoung others). as for specific build crafting...following guides (maxroll has good ones) is good if you are feeling a little lost, or unsure where to go next with your build

try to get more armor and INT. Aim for 400-500% ward retention minimum, if you can

so if you are not actively hitting you are extremly vulnerable and your ward sustain cant keep up with dmg incoming

There isn't a general rule
One character can have a completely different set of defenses than another, outside of the base resistances
movement skill? can rebind it to something comfortable like space and keep it ready for escapes
i mean if you want to generalize
certain item slots can only have certain affixes on them
for example movement speed you can onl yhave on boots and so on

I hoarded too many Idols and I'm running out of stash space, Is there any suggestions I could get on which mods I can probably safely get rid of without regretting it later for newer characters?

if you feel like you kill stuff fast enough, then work on your defenses, that will never hurt you

the best way to learn the game would be to learn 1 build. find a guide, it will say what affixes scale it's damage, you'll figure out where you get those by playing and then for other builds you'll just need different affixes
you've gotten the biggest tip - play the game. It really is that straightforward. Theorycrafting will get you nowhere without experimentation
the in-game guide is one of the best resources there is
and even if you fuck up, respeccing is easy

press ctrl+alt and hover over items
you will learn 95% of the game that way
you need to pick a class and play with it at least to level 80 @raw cradle
it is the most friendly environment for experimentation and testing of any ARPG out there
that should be enough to figure out what you wanna
My Quick Tips copy/paste -
You don't need to keep everything, gear and gold come fast as you progress - do keep any gear you see a modifier on that you want though, there's a way to break down gear for upgrade shards!
Speaking of shards, runes and glyphs - just above your inventory you'll see a 'Transfer Crafting Materials' button, this moves all those items into their own storage to free up inventory space!
Also if you see loot without a name tag that you can't pick up, try 'Z' or 'Alt+Z'!
Other than that - just enjoy! Respeccing a character is super easy and you can get lots of great advice here on what to try out!

They drop from rare monsters and bosses, but you won't find them until after you are in higher level areas than where the dungeon exists in campaign
i had one.. went for a run and, died ofc, and the key is gone
no worries, you'll get plenty eventually

Is there any recommanded beginer filter, i already have in the first area many drops and most of them i dont need. but i dont want to turn off all white items because i think when i progress in the game i find maybe a good white item with better damage or armor as my current blue ones.
i saw in the filter option there is a thing with ilvl of the item max from my char lvl is. Is this ilvl refered to the Arealvl the monster droped it or to the base type of the item?
if you dont start filtering out SOME stuff you gonna get drowned at some point very early on
if you got blue/yellow gear you can easily filter out white and blue items
its not a big loss and will be easier on the eyes/gameflow wise

with higher lvl(area lvl) you will drop higher ilvl bases that have stronger base stats
so even i would find a good base in a worser color its still better to filter them out?
you can pickup every base and try to craft on it, but you dont need to replace your gear every 5 lvls
if you got smth that works with your build/skills you are fine for a good while in campaign
its just a matter of time investment, if you want to pick through all loot you can do so
if you go into the filter and choose item type, for example helmet, you can choose a subtype there
it will show you all itemlvls/bases of helmets
as an example
item level. so you are basically telling the game to show every low level item in the game...which isnt super helpful
i never used itemlvl in any filter, you can have good exalted stats on bad bases for legendary crafting

hover over the skill you are using, it wil show you it's dps
and your weapon damage should apply to the default attack as well

Hello guys, at what lvl can i get the Dungeon keys and where do i get them? I'm at lvl 38
they're random drops from anything, they can already drop for you at that level but are rare
much much more common in the endgame
you're not expected to be able to do them when you find the dungeon unless you already have keys from a previous character (they're also probably too hard to complete at that point)

Yeah, if you spec warpath to make echoes, they are purple spinning copies of you that stay in place
i jsut foudn an idol that will give me 30% incresed melee damage for 4 second on spawn
so if you echo enough its like semi permanant ?
the 30% doesnt say it has a cooldown so i think so thats nice
yeah once you get all the echo chance stuff, you can get tons of echoes esp on warpath.

you never want to craft leech or %melee damage on your weapon both are awful affixes
best affixes on weapons are melee speed, flat melee damage, flat melee crit chance and in rare cases crit multiplier
u do not want anything else besides these 4 prefixes on a melee build
put them on loot fliter and shatter all items that drop with those
they are all very common affixes
so easy to get
the thing is mee flat dmaage if you have 200% insted of 100% the flat doesnt add up well if you add the percent how i calculate wrong

u get a lot of increased damage just from your strength and skill buffs/passive trees+rings/amulet/relic/body affixes

so u have increases everywhere already no point putting it on weapon too
i also have a lot of attack speed booster on my skills
flat is pretty rare to find...thats why you want it on the weapon
i feel like attack speed is ok to have but not all that on gear
yes but just to compare my wp build has over 800% inc damage while only 150% speed

guys Last epoch works fine for me in offline mode but in online as soon as I choose a character it crashes to desktop, how can I play online?
each percentage modifier will apply to all the added damage too if applicable. so if it's a melee skill then melee damage increases will apply to all of that flat damage, but obviously increased cold damage would only apply to the added cold portion and so on
verify files is the easiest step. can also try selecting other servers, even if the ping is worse, it might be more stable. third option is trying a vpn, there have been plenty of issues with ISP's and stuff that seem to get fixed with vpns

plenty of people have on EUW. can try 1. verifying files 2. play on NA east(even if ping is worse, might be more stable) or 3. trying a vpn. normally 1 of these three will help the issue

Silly question, but if i am using Earthquake, which has the melee and physical tag, and i use an axe with +melee lightning flat damage, will this add the exact same as an equal +melee physical damage because they are both melee?
before any percentage modifiers, yes. but it will probably be worse than physical damage in practice because you can't scale them both with all the same modifiers

It does not need to be a block, it might just be a problem with your ISP or with some backbone ISP between you and the server, which the VPN circumvents by routing thorugh different nodes
There are a ton of places where the internet can break down and the developers can't do shit about it
I really want to hope so otherwise I will be sad.
Some people in my country don't like to play with VPNs and by the way the EU server had 50~60ms for us so I really doubt it but oh well.

If you're familiar with POB, you know enough to understand how massively conditional damage and stats are and that it's impossible to create an accurate character sheet

is there a bug with minion count on the necro? i had specced into +1 on skeletons, but specced out for different skills, but I can still use 4 on regular and 3 on mages. Nothing on my gear either
summon skeleton and summon skeleton mages are totally different skills. base skeletons are 3, so if you have +1 to that, would have the 4.
there are other ways to get more skeletons and skeleton mages, mostly passive tree and skill tree stuff

what threw me off was skeletal mage says limited to 2 at a time, but necromancer mastery gives you +1 skeletal mage, which as far as I know you can't get skeletal mage without taking necromancy

corruption makes the monolith harder by scaling hp and dmg. you increase it by killing orobyss in the monolith web. there are really good sections on each on the ingame guide

actually no i bought it through the shop, not steam itself
300 is good enough for farming, a lot of people prefer 500 or 800 (though 800 is pushing into "your build needs to be insane" territory)
200 is barefloor minimum(it unlocks the last items and blessing slot). 300 is fairly average
if a build can't do 200 it doesn't deserve to be called a build 😆

yeah exactly, I've dragged the most random bullshit to 200
lastepochtools is great for quantity of builds and ideas...but not always quality
it's really around the 200 mark that weak builds start to show problems in my experience

if you get monolith A corruption really high and then go to monolith B shades in B will give you insane amounts of corruption until you get close to the corruption you have in A

Hey so I'm just getting back into last epoch again, mostly waiting for launch and theory crafting but i've got a few questions. My character was made before multiplayer and obviously before launch. Will I have access to the same stash as characters I make post launch? Will I be able to play with my friends using that old character? If no, its not a huge deal. I just really like that spec and would rather not level it up again if possible. Also will cycles / seasons effect my ability to play characters with friends?

depending on when it was made, it might have been wiped before MP.
all stashes are shared with those from similar character types (hc/sc and SSF, SAF, normal and cycle legacy)
if that old toon still exsits, it will be in legacy and be able to play with other legacy toons, no matter when they were made
cycle toons can only play with cycle, legacy only with legacy

the reasons to wait would be if you want to play in the cycle as opposed to legacy, or you wanted to play one of the new classes (warlock or falconer) when they come out and don't want to level another character that soon

just what damage they apply to. For a spell, 20% increased cold spell damage is exactly the same as 20% increased cold damage. For a melee attack, the spell damage does nothing. Etc

I'm not sure I understand the question. There are lots of spell/melee/throwing specific modifiers as well. Like the flat melee damage on your sword doesn't do anything to spells

I see. I remember coming across this when trying to make a lightning werebear a while back, and finding 2 different ways to apply damage was confusing to me.

at the end of the day it is variety for variety's sake, so that you don't build a lightning mage the same as a sword and shield melee
And everyone has a different amount of enforced variety they prefer
you can go all the way from Slormancer where damage is damage and all scales the same, to PoE where attacks and spells use completely different mechanics

All the unique affixes provide lots of fun ways to min/Max builds. My favourite deep dive was with my Mana Strike Runemaster. My goal was to make a viable melee/spell hybrid. Anywhere I had the option for Elemental damage, I took it because absolutely everything I used scaled with it, and between items and passive, there was plenty of flat damage to go around and nothing ever felt wasted. well, the CoF player can use anything that drops from both player IF the item dropped while playing together, and even maybe through resonances since the item has no tag. The MG player cannot, since anything drop by the CoF is tag, and therefore "useless" to the MG player
The opposite might not be true since CoF will drop stuff CoF tagged
when I watched a video a few days ago I thought TAGs were implemented directly to any item at the moment of picking them up or even before, and that tag was directly related to what you are playing at the moment, so either MG or CoF

because now I can make a MG toon, and use absolutely everything that drops since there is not tag for MG, so if I swap to CoF I can use the items that drop before and after that

its a bug but you can counter this bug by abusing another bug on flurry and making it into channeling skill with multishot procs

I assume that all items dropped tag and that tag is connect to the player's current guild. Because if items get tags in different times and or triggers, there is room for shenanigans

Items MG drop are untagged. They get tagged upon being sold (i.e. if you get gold for an item that item gets MG tagged). According to Mike and Karv CoF drops that get buffed by CoF perks get CoF tagged but not all items get that. However, all items that CoF drops are tagged with a "non-tradeable" tag regardless of being affected by buffs.

The COF player will have the same amount of drops as the MG player as untagged items (because that will be the baseline drop rate which will be identical between them), which they can then profitably trade with each other. The COF player will also get a lot more drops that will be COF flagged from COF loot bonuses.
If anything the implementation they announced ensures parity between the two

Class balance is even worse than back in the day cause runemaster is absolutely infested with bugs and generally poor tuning. Otherwise no major progress on the game's general difficulty scaling/progression was made in this time, but they announced a rework of corruption in monos for 1.0.
can rune of creation be used if 1 forging potential is left on the item?
Stabilty went from abysmal to just bad/wonky. They reworked the 1st story chapter, it's fairly nice now. However, the story is not and will not be complete at 1.0. The general approach/quality level of story hadn't improved that much. The dialogue is still poor and rudimentary, not much if any ambient lore/worldbuilding was added, etc.

well given how busted funneling loot from a full group to one person is going to be, when it comes to any competitive aspect you won't find much "self found" in COF
So I tested on my steam account and cosmetic items aren't shared. I think both accounts have a Guppy as this is tied to the creation date of the Last Epoch account, all accounts made get the Guppy at the moment. However Cosmetic items are tied to the account that purchased them.

Not sure where to post this question. I've looked for, and might've overlooked, any options regarding the overlay map. I find it almost impossible to use it on the bright background of the first areas. Are there settings I'm just not seeing?
Even at max opacity I find it hard to see what is going on, on the map while running around.
it can be an issue at times depending on the background, when that happens i close down the overlay and check the map in the top right corner, it has a lot better visibility when it comes to colors/shades
not an optimal solution but it helps

can try verifying files (esp after the last two little server patches), can also try a different server even if its a worse ping, might be more stable, can also try a vpn. all of these thing have helped certain people

As for a truly invoker experience that's gonna be hard since casting Quas, Wex and Exort is instant and the equivalent of generating Quas, Wex and Exort for Runemaster is having to cast a skill(there's cast speed in play here, animation and such)
most RM RI builds are focused on one/two RI's for consistancy. doubt you will find a published build with randomness
You can use the randomness aspect of the skill and spec as much elemental damage that you can + int but that's not the most efficient way of playing and is one of the reasons we don't see guides for it
There's always runebolt wild magic, but otherwise.
Creators tend to make guides for concepts of builds that's able to achieve goals such as a certain corruption threshold and/or killing julra

"Strategically" is not the word that I would use for invoker rm builds, the usability of that approach is very meh so people who want specific effects usually go with immutable order
mostly skills (bone curse, spirit plague, profane veil, etc) apply curses. there are some passive nodes that give curses too. from there they are likely ailments

Those videos are ultra shit so you should look up the warlock planner on maxroll, at least in a written form it's much more obvious and easier to keep track of various effects. There are a ton of curses which have individual ways of triggering them

you can play the random bullshit go build to a reasonably high level (200-300 corr), the problem just is, most effects are interchangeable aoe clear and if you want to aim strategically for the few that aren't, there is no easy way of doing that

resistance is just one defensive layer out of many and having resists a little below cap is not a big deal compared to not having crit miti/avoidance or enough health
you can also use quest echoes to remove modifiers or lower corruption in the uh how was that sanctum type echo called again
if you do a quest it resets the modifers, how many ? all i have not are dmg increase for enemies lol
it just takes one turn off the mods. so depends on how much time is left on the mods

What about the runes or glyphes? Hold them till later? I think i would use a rune of destruction on a my old weapon if it has good affixe so i can carry over to the new wepaon if i find a good one? as long as you arent using rare mats (despair glyphs, +skills, hybrid health, etc) craft away during leveling

The class specific stuff, like +skills are that red-ish color. There's also stuff that's less common but often desirable, such as Hybrid Health - the one that gives both +health and +% health.

nah, only on the overworld drops. you can check rarities on lastepochtools. but its really just hybrid health, +skills, pen that you run into as rare shards

No it isn't bad. You can reach 300-400ish pretty easily. It just becomes boring as modifiers start ramping up and things become more tanky. I don't know how good or bad it will be in 1.0. It's not a bad build by any means, it's just.. not quite good enough after a point IMO

the skill has inc lightning damage in the tree. if i convert it to fire, will that lightning be converted to inc fire or no and that's a waste in that case?
If anyone here is having connectivity issues, try not using wifi and putting in an ethernet cable. It was impossible to play Last Epoch and I had no more disconnects after putting in the ethernet cable.

usually it just says base dmg converted and scales with corresponding type, shock -> ignite
so if doesn;'t say exactly that ndoes in the tree converted as well then no>?

Im feeling we are going to see another Wolcen case happen. Hundreds of thousands of people flooding a game in hope of a good quality product, only to meet many bugs that blocks the Hardcore community to enjoy the game. If the game has many server issues on top of it as it has atm with coop working 1/4 of the times, thats a big rip
I mean I don't disagree on the release hype, but they don't exactly have great options here, and many games in recent times have in fact recovered from a less than stellar launch. Who knows? As far as hardcore community goes, this game's balance is all over the place and the endgame is not that deep, I fail to see a real hardcore community being interested in it any time soon.
Im just sad that the Less than Stellar launch needs to be gone forever in gaming world. games has to be finished at release. thats why we keep having games "releasing" in beta stages but still have the stamp of "released". LE is in a much better state than it was 3 years ago, but still I dont think feb 21st update will fix that many issues since it will also bring a flock of anew ones with the new skills being added. I don't disagree, but again, think of the very problem wiht new skills that you mention. Clearly rm, warlock, falconer and possibly druid are developed to a much higher standard than the rest of the classes. To solve that problem, they would literally need to completely revamp 11 classes. History shows us that they can do that in a more or less adequate manner (less adequate in regards to RM) at a rate of 1 class per 3 months. So to fix this one design problem they'd need to spend 2,5 years at their current rate.
Delaying release by 2,5 years is a complete nonstarter which you I hope well understand
no company will ever release a perfect finished game at launch. especially live service games that are constantly evolving and being updated. games would go bankrupt long before that ever happened with the amount of work going to the games today.

the 1 sec invul makes my game crash constantly
vpn's solve plenty of issues that are neither you or the games fault. if there is a routing issue from your isp, vpn's can go around that. particularly in EU, there have been some issues with ISP's teh past few days

noobie question: i am currently following the runemaster leveling guide by maxroll and then i wanted to change to the frostclaw one - should I do it at 70 as the frostclaw guide says? or do you guys change to a specific lootfilter to start gathering gear so that the change is smooth?
as long as you have the gear, you can really do it anytime before or after. getting the gear is the hard part
all maxroll guides "switch" at 70...but thats more a loose rule than a hard one

Initially when you're new and broke what you do is, you find rare (yellow) items that have at least 1 or 2 affixes that are useful for you. The less common those are, the better (you'll understand the rarity over time). Then the other affixes if that item has any, you use Glyph of Chaos on to roll into something useable. Or if it DOESN'T have other affixes even better, you craft desired affixes with Glyph of Hope. It's important to have the highest FP on the item possible so that you are able to craft.
later on, you follow this same method but with EXALTED (drop only) gear that has a t6/t7 affix that you desire. Here, FP matters even more because you can literally create a BiS or near BiS item if you get lucky

Normally I ignore new items unless they have T4+ bonus because they drop with complete the opposite I need (i.e Fire Damage etc.)

you shouldn't do that all the time. For example, let's say you drop an item with +1 to a skill you use. That's often a great drop and should be insta pick, because you can upgrade that +1 to +2 yourself
look at the mod itself as well, not just its tier, is what I'm trying to say
if the mod is useful to you, and you need it, and the item has workable FP, then pick it up and try to make something out of it
