depends on your intelligence i suppose, it doesn't have too much base damage on its own
unless things changed, it woulnd't make sense for pen to work on tooltips as what resistance does a monster have? It depends on their base type, affixes, are they a boss, etc

so that's outdated as of this patch, you have to accrue 5 points in the outer timelines, and each one is worth 1-2 points (should be a quest that describes that)
but when you get enough stability (top bar of a timeline) to do all three quest echoes, the final one will be a boss that completes the timeline

how's the survivability?
surprisingly strong. i just did my first pull of uber. the damage is decent
maybe a bit low, will take better gear or perseverance but ubers def in reach for spellblade. with reasonable to obtain gear
mana is okay with just mana strike on CD?
mana takes a long time to drain, mana strike restores like 200 mana.
so even if mana strike CD is double, i wouldnt notice
nice, I hate the "hold RMB + LMB" playstyle on manastrike + shatterstrike
kk maybe thats a bit exaggerating but it takes longer than its cd to bottom out

CD mana strike is 100% what I'm planning for my shatter build #๐งโmage message. less gear-intensive than Null Profusion and similar time not spent shatterstriking. might even save a couple passive points, but I gotta test some stuff.
main downside is it's a little squishier since % mana idols also give % armor and mana stacking also boosts ward/second through passive. but should be fine still

yeah just purely for leech. i mean up to 8% movement speed and up to +18 elem res is relevant too.
the leech is important. if you take damage that doesnt kill you, the flame reave spam is constantly healing. and it scales with your absurd damage output so it instantly heals you.

since if 2% of your dmg to uber is more than your health then you don't need the ring

currently using experimental missing health to ward + atk speed glove
imo, you're meant to diversify your defenses on spellblade. the passive tree and skill trees all kinda point you towards that.
eg.
-the passive that increases ward retention % based on your + armor %.
-the passive that gives dodge based on your Intelligence .
-the passive that gives Intelligence (ward stat) and Endurance (health stat)
tldr: ward health hybrid. armor and dodge too.

never actually built a rogue but I was under the impression that they need it in the thousands
it's not very much but like. most defensive stat has diminishing returns. like the more you have, the less value you get from the next point you put into it.
armor for instance, eHP increase diminishes. you get most value the first few thousand points.
ward decay formula. your ward regenerates strongest the less you have
the only stat that gets better the more you have is endurance, but to a cap of 60
so diversifying defenses is already a good thing to do. just some classes arent built that way.
it's 200. and the passive gives you +1 dex +1 int per point which is very good. the dodge is just a bonus.
wish it was easier to test builds x_x

keep in mind that ADE isn't everything, the other half is more modifiers. Or rather the lack thereof in firebrand tree. And even those that are there, half are more melee damage specifically

If reforged = an item with a crafted set affix, they can get the same corruptions as any crafted item. Corrupting a set item turns it into a regular item with random affixes + set affix. Think I done over a 100 of them by now, for villatria gambling. Sometimes get 3xT7 of various affix types
Make sure to report bugs this week, since it is most likely to get them fixed and "save" mage for the next months ๐

What they need for cosmetics is more thematic cohesion and better development of in-game/in-universe themes, like some of the cosmetics don't look too bad but they have fu ck all in common with anything related to LE

part of the int will be lightning dmg through the set, other part is base generic dmg that converts to base dmg of the skill iirc.

actually that's perfectly in line, since usually spell base damage is only 20, guess that's for standard 100% ADE spell
all skills have something like 20 base damage, then 1200% = 240

But then added damage has a massive impact
the calc should in a way show it differently to be less confusing then
and since meteor mana cost is way higher than other skill and only sorc mastery can play it, the passiv is too undertuned
to make it up
Just think of base damage as flat 20 ๐
either way, lightning pen is teh way to go indeed :P

No, any T7 can work
no, but it helps for subsequent drops if you manage to craft one with the affix you want later
does it have to be 7-1/1-1 or open slots?
(but depending on remaining FP, might also make subsequent drops drop with that much lower FP)
There are some advantage to having the T7 on a suffix that you dont care about, then crafting + havoc what you need

low life is a lot of investment for not a lot of profit since your pirmal slot is either closed or if you try architects that has anti-synergy with your incidental ward gain effects

As I recall, the video very specifically calls out that you need a -5 mana cost wand or staff, and cites the exact subtype and implicit at which that first becomes available. Planner is incorrect if it has -4
Guys 400k dps Lightning Blast lvl 77 , am i on a good way?
In the planner he has a base type that rolls 3-5 mana cost reduction. -4 is the average which is what the planner is showing you. The build requires level 60 to use a crystal wand, if you're 58 you cannot use the build with a wand yet. And the lowest staff with -5 is at level 70.
More DPS than my lvl 99 shatter so i'd say yeah lmao

I saw a build with the regular mana return skills/passives and the harbinger staff, how was that called again, that gives you max mana. Some weird interaction leads it to actively gaining more mana than you spend
I pivoted into it on my league starter and I didnt update gear, worked like shit more or less but I guess you can push it to a reasonable amount of corr if you invest into gear

It's a huge source of damage
You need a Vilatria helmet (reforged optional) + the Legends Entwined primordial ring to create the set. Those are key pieces to making the build feel good

Definitely, though shackles is just a straight upgrade. It's a big source of frostbite chance, but you can get it from idols and chest/helm affixes too

I've been running the RF (fire aura) frost build. At about 200~ corruption at the moment. My res is all capped, ward at about 5k with 89% crit avoidance. I still seem to get chunked and one-shot quite often and struggling to figure out what else I need to change in my build to improve survivability. Anyone have any ideas?

From what i could notice, i cannot use focus while im moving and have negative mana (pretty sure casting focus while moving would just immobilize me and start the channeling before)

If he looks at you wrong, you die when flameward isnโt up. Not to mention dots being oppressive with a 2.2k hp pool.
The good news is with CDR, flameward has a really high up time and he doesnโt actually auto a lot so the hits are spaced out

I pulled uber yesterday maybe 4-5x. Got past the first add and died cuz his flame vortex was invisible under my fire AoEs.
The damage was definitely there, and I added about 10% after that with upgrades.

Yeah, Ashunava is right, there isn't a mana solution for it really. It's a bait because proc'd meteors only drop one meteor and still cost the full mana amount. And it's hard to make meteor good without taking the multi-meteor nodes. So unless you're doing mana guide coc meteor, self cast is the only real way to play meteor.

for lightning blast you want the ring to count as set for all your other set items

For me, any LB build lives and dies by their Cast Speed Idols. I don't play the most meta LB build, though.
the idols they want me to get are lighting damage idols with the double lighting affixes. its rediculous how much they cost in the darn bazaar. looking at 300k-450k per idol and i need 3 of them. only in regular monos not empowered so gold is a struggle to get. also i am in mg but cant find good stuff to sell for money
If you're in non-empowered monos, the cast speed ones are probably good enough to help you progress.
Presumably cheaper as they're less meta, apparently.
make sure u have the single target chain node with some cast speed and ur dmg will be fine

I think the only new trigger is Enchant Weapon casts it now? But Static, Arcane Ascendence, and Frost Wall can all trigger it. The big change is that you can swap Shatter Strike to lightning, so you can combo that with Dragorath's Claw or Battlemage's Endeavor to cast lightning blasts.

dual wield two yrun's penance, stack armor shred, that kind of thing
ironically the reduction in VO mana cost is a nerf to that build as it reduces your ward gained from mana

That is one of the issues. Builds purely ward based defenses on a spec that offers more. And can't sustain the ward.

Offensively, Fire Aura doesn't have many things to scale damage with it.
Lets compare to Flame Reave:
Reave scales with INT and DEX. Aura scales with INT.
Reave has a very deep and busted skill tree. The 30th point you put into this tree still has multiplicative bonus. It's insane. I mean just look at it lol. Aura doesn't even have a tree. It's supposed to be a part of Flame Ward.
Reave scales with Attack Speed. Aura has limited scaling. eg. Firebrand caps you at 4 stacks per second no matter how fast you're hitting. With Reave, if you're attacking twice as fast, you're dealing twice the damage.
Reave scales with crit. Very heavily. Aura has no crit interaction. This is huge. Spellblade passives crit caps you very very easily. Defender of Welryn x Prodigy should be the basis of every Spellblade offense, it is very strong.
Fire Aura takes zero advantage of this huge asset that Spellblade has access to. Instead puts 15 points into Sorc.
Aiming Firebrand sucks. Spamming an omni directional damage spell is really easy.
Building FR is really easy too. The build consists of common easy to find uniques.
FA getting spun off as its own skill would be nice. Then it also wouldn't eat up a bunch of space on SB passive tree (e.g. elemental conversions). Maybe someday.
Glad the Flame Reave builds are working, something new/improved to play with. So far volcanic orb and fire aura feels like a bit of ... Maybe just need someone to work it out
I tried the spinning volcanic orb and it felt worse than playing stationary orbs, atleast I could aim those and run around

I just got Keplahan's rings for the first time. I play a Firebrand Spellblade. Is the fire ring any good? I've never played withVolcanic Orb and I'm contemplating losing Surge and picking up Volcanic Orb so I can specialize it

but applying the set shards is done by completing a specific woven echo that has that as a reward at the end
under the gear section. look at the starter options for something interim if you havent yet.
Particularly 1) get a T7 suffix exalted, 2) add a T1 set prefix by crafting it on like any other affix, 3) either havoc the set thing to T7 or seal it, depending on how much you like it

I'm mid learning all the random shit, and a lot of it is stuff that isn't said anywhere until someone tells you. Eg favor troves being really helpful, all the weirdness around imprinting and havocing, plus all the woven echoes and ways to arrange them in patterns that are particularly good..

Why would the game explain every intricacy or use case of a item? It tells you what the item does and it is up to the player on how to best use that item.
I don't expect the game to tell me at all, but there's a huuuge difference when you know the things vs before you know the things, and you can see it in what people ask and what they're struggling with

Most recent thing for me was rift beasts being fantastic for havoc runes if you configure them right, and also answers a question I had
Expected prophecies, got rift beasts; so the learning curve goes sometimes
Still haven't tested myself, but rare rune mods
I am testing favor prophecies for havoc today, while farming enchants for idols
Target is 200+ havocs in store
then I get a reward of world class bottle of wine ๐
+12 spell dmg enchants are tricky
and why minion crit on mage idols... silly stuff

how long take you to get your first set of vilatria? i started from league start and now almost 40 hr and havent seen it. every season before i seen them a lot and even not pick them up

I'm not that hard pressed to find it because I don't have a staff or helm for it anyway, but if you are, you can probably get some set prophecies for staff or helm, you'll drop both anyway if you have some CoF ranks
im rank 8 for COF,i got 5 set helm proph (with double cost/mono only) and no at all
without that heml, my lihgning blast only deal 3k on crit
i cant even do lv90 mono
so i start a bladedancer, and there is nothing drop on my second char but i got enough gear from my mage drop and can do lv100 mono on corrupt100
this season drop is so stupid, they hide and nerf so hard, also, every season i usually have the build does not need rare drop can do lv 100, but omen this season, one shot me from one kind of bug with posion DOT damage
the producer really deserve what they have made in this season, i will go back to poe if it still not drop in another 50 maps
guess i know what im leveling next
just buy it from the vendor then, it's like 1k

most sets including a belt would be 3 piece, thus u will have 2/3 (with legends entwined + belt)

yea, was farming it yesterday, dropped on T3 first try with 1LP, then took me another 6 kills to drop another one
got a whole tab of them from farming monos with the dungeon packs node
fireball or something, most spells are very easy to level with
some people advocate for glacier, ele nova, etc

yeah in that sense you are right, you can corrupt it on some strong uniques without having to rely on last steps/exsang/astral blood etc

LE is really starting to come into it's own with multiple gear check "boss" content, my journey this season since corruption began has been Aberoth > Majassa echo > Fading brink > pinnacle of chaos > new pinnacle boss and still need to do uber aberroth

Yeah, for a Strength stacker, the amulet is pretty excellent. You're probably looking at 40-50% increased health

I was testing madness a bit, but the gain from extra crit multi dropped off once I got crit multi from other sources
hmm I want to try a fire RM
so I can accept all fire builds that deal at least hydra level
biggest problem for hydra is how to balance the ward, armor and dodge
armor and dodge is obtained via minor idols only
ward can be found in huge idols
the one that grants ward can casting flame ward

You could be right, an extra 30% at 150 brutality would be nice
The DR for DoT is also great considering the poison in omen windows is troublesome
Primalist can pretty easily stack strength to 250
Especially with a good Exulis roll
my SS build can get to around 150-200
