if they got what they want every class would run around with a sword and auto attack
now announcing the ability to specialize in that auto attack skill you probably don't even remember having at level 1 :d
but yeah i just think they'll give it a slap on the wrist, nerf warding and make some general "mechanics" nerfs
rather than heavily target classes
LOL
Bigger picture, the silliest part about nerfing something like FC is you overlook the current state of Runemaster. Its all creative ways to apply Spark charges.
cause u cant even nerf runemaster if u dont destroy frostbite for every1, unless u completely destroy frost claw
and ya u can actually make nonfrost claw builds with elemental nova/spark
Yeah if you're .001 percent of players with 4LP everything then Im sure theres a few builds out there, but itd be maniacal to adjust the game based on something that doesn't apply to 99.9% of players.
u can run elemental starfield/take a mana neutral skill like fireball
Bro I took shuriken to 1k on cof
and take the cdr on teleport belt
Would you prioritize health or ward?
False dichotomy: endgame ward generation converts health into ward.
ward is the goal, but you'll want to stack health to get more ward.
whether you go low-life or twisted heart
On mage it's also just significant easier
ur prio will be ward>armor>health if resist is okay
i feel like for twisted heart its more of balance between cast speed and hp tbh.
Almost hard to not go ward you'd have to purposefully avoid so much
that's fair, although cast speed is a prefix and health is a suffix
sure but no caster is running that
yeah but i meant in the way which scales twisted heart ward gen better.
we have static shell
10x better chest
ward better
well
by ward
its basically int
many rms atleast used to play low life.
they didnt use twisted
Beta was hyd meta
cant think of a single build that would prefer lowlife over twisted rn
i mean
even beta plasma was better no?
as far as pushing stuff goes
i think some used twisted purely for stats, cast speed, massive increased hp, +1 to skills, cast speed and some armor
Mana Strike cannot use heart since it's not a spell
frostbite doesn't like lowlife because it can't use Last Steps
nah, spark charge pushed to 6k in beta
frostbite can low life with t7 experimental and exsang, don't need the boots
beta was scuffed right w all the bugs
also
7k corr beta
is what
4k in release?
since scaling got giga buffed
Its actually so much easier now
not really that different tbh from launch
yeah 10x easier
What's so annoying about those boots is they have amazing stats for frostbite, if only they didn't use the slot that you need to put snowdrift into.
but ik rm had insane bugs in beta with pen and stuff
the modifiers were absurd
For 6 echoes
oo
well to be fair
deadly+increased phys dmg+hp and dmg on rares
They removed a lot of modifiers and heavily trimmed the ones that they kept
yea
Scaling feels semi similar to me
Its noticeable but its always been the modifiers that make it hard
I kind of liked the gameplay of trying to stack up 6 modifiers. Now I don't even really look at it.
I just make sure there's nothing awful in there for oro
it
100% isnt
i got vids of
2 7k corruption runs
the diff
is massive
we talking
like 4x more dmg
the dude was doing
pre 1.0
i assume alota bugs involved
I mean the games been a mess since day 1 so idk about that part
I did 1k in beta and now and it was not even comparable in difficulty
That's what I'm basing it off of
i can link u the vids
its
insane
same person
same char
pre and post 1.0
i assume on legacy
Prob already seen
my dude killing 7k like its 3k for me
They changed skills and stuff too
Its just a dif game now really
tbh i do hope they iron out on all the bugs
link it?
Imagine not being able to do sanctum for 1 month
lmao
Cause u crash insta
And if you do make it
When you time travel for the clock it sends you back and kills you
🙃
christ 7001 lmao
its legacy for both
yeah
There was a static orb up high too iirc
slower than my spark still for monos LOL cause u clear alot faster
i just hope they somehow make runic invo builds the strongest for rm
crazy that i gotta frostbite instead of that
or spark
rm would be 10x cooler if u had to invos
i mean you can see the frostwall nerf, he has to be way more careful since not perma 30% dr from flame ward
yea
I highkey don't like invos in practice rn but it's such a good idea
A lot of them are just not useful
Invo doesn't seem set up to be the main skill, it still needs other skills to build up to it. But I would like it if more invocations were viable to build around, or even better, use more than one in a single build (I know plasma orb uses both plasma orb and frostguard, but that barely counts)
problem is that they have invos that buff u
but the buffs needa be better
like covenant arc should be
2x better and last longer
and other buffs
the build in the vids is not frostbite build
is it crit
Should honestly just simplify the system to really flesh out a few skills instead of what it is now
yea
for both?
mourningfrost, so he stacking dex
ig he does run both
but ik for cycle he frostbites after like 3kish?
idr exact corr
dang, I didn't realize anyone was running frostbite that high
yeah for both it's dex stacking build
ic
the power diff is massive no idea what exactly got nuked
or the corr scaling diff no clue
the quality is dog i cant read what the % scaling showing
Does he have easy modifiers
Those were 100x more important at the time than any corr #
Mobile I cba
well, only thing that really got nuked was no more perma flameward from frostwall
but mobs just have way more hp now
thats the biggest difference most likely
I was so happy when I made a rm last week to see it had a 12sec cd now
Sht was so dumb
dmg was pretty similar back then but more spikes thanks to modifiers, now its linear. but mobs didn't have that much hp unless u took alot of hp modifiers.
ya i think its just mob tankyness got massive diff
well tbh rn some mobs are legit insane at 4-5k+
like embermages
if its an embermage mono
just hit T
that drop yellow circle
oh, yeah
casts in like 0.5 sec
no the birds that cast meteor
lol
also archers are nuts
even w 25k ward and DR buff i can get deleted in 0 seconds
if i dont dodge
i still hate the lithacs
LOL
that explode with tons of little explosions when you kill them
ukno amoutn of times
i kill 1 off screen
teleport
just to insta die
is crazy
yeah lmao
legit ddos
rip me
god forbid u have 3 of them
i've only had one mono that i absolutely hated
ur pc is gg
i had the big flower nukers, light mages, those fire casters and lithacs
with THREE soul towers
i cried man
i dropped nova from my build because i don't feel much difference for clearspeed, biggest difference was ward generation was better. but the visual clutter is too much
if u go more dmg on nova
u can actually get a rly good amount of dmg added to it
for direct dmg i can imagine you really feel the difference but for frostbite not really
ye either nova on helm or crest i think right
in general i think frostbite u want ice barrage for ice shield
the projectile immunity would be so nice to have
not anymore, u would kill your mana
thats why even frostbite mostly runs ele nova
but man that projectile immunity
esp since frostbite is abit slower movement u wont get nuked from behind
can you go to your "Closed Windows" menu and reopen it? I can do that in firefox.
you can barely feel it tbh, the shield is rather small and if you proc it to wrong direction it doesnt matter lmao
biggest upside of ice barrage was the cast speed buff and global more cold dmg buff. and the very good dps aswell
all good i already reopened purus build
tbh
and i can reopen the one im following for marksman lol
the more damage on frost wall is sick
som busted
its snap freeze on 0 cd and max range
and u get a ton of ward and dmg boost
but now you really want on through the snow, ever onward and crack in the ice nodes on frostclaw so manacost will be around 20, and with barrage you would just nuke your mana hard
it's not as convenient as snap freeze for bosses. Bosses won't run into your frostwall, and you can't drop it on them to freeze them.
well the freeze doesnt work on real bosses
for wall
u use it for self buffs/brand
but for elites and stuff
uknow those maps w a ton of mobs
ez 35k ward walking around spamming frost walls
alright lets farm ice ghost
I will go back to frost wall for mapping once things don't die or freeze before reaching it.
yeah i think it just gets better as u get higher
but if everything dying u dont need
LOL
honestly, I don't feel like I even need any skill in that slot at all, yet
static orb+flame rush is so good. very good uptime on lightning aegis
no me
enigma enjoyers
tp yo
I'm using them now
puru
hows the speed on em
whats the build for more dmg on nova
im gonna hang around 900-1k corr and just farm for now
can't use that on sorc

The mirror images aren't as good at taunting as the dummy you get from Arboreal Circuit ring. But they're not useless.
lmao
first time i see someone using confluence of fate
I feel like the mirror images have a very short taunt range, even more importantly than how fast they do it.
insane necklace
because of flat?
and the implicit is the best too
lmao
i got a crest with +4 and int/armor % roll
was gonna use that but man rip my 92% crit
yeah true
yeah i mean for implicit you can use oracle amulet or orian's eye. but yeah i guess with 3lp that's decent
for frostbite bis-amulet is frozen eye of formosus, i used it in beta already and ppl just now start to use it for frostbite. but since i haven't been able to find 2lp twisted and get castspeed and +frostclaw on them i'm currently using omnis for the skillpoint lol
what offhand u use
ik frostbite has some decent choices to choose from
w the unquies/exalt

oo
interesting shield
i have vial of volatile ice and freys retreat too but i like the shield the most
and since i don't need crit avoidance i rather use the shield
ya i think if u get double ward or sumthin
double the 2x ward
take more block in flame ward
gonna be p tanky
LOL
tbh rn i just use 1 charge of ward
since i have enough cdr
i have 3lp frozen ire waiting but haven't found a good exalted yet.
I tried frey's retreat while I was using frost wall. I was really disappointed that runic's mana refund didn't apply to the Blizzard it would cast, and that really hit my mana super hard. Ironically, it seems like Frey's is best when you don't use frostwall.
ya i think so too
which is unfortunate cause its synergy with the frostwall freeze is insane
cause u will perma freeze mobs and get the dmg increase
i just want them to add dummies that can record out dps
and tell us how much dps skills are doing and whatnot
same here, but it sounds like they've got no plans to add any kind of damage meters :(
but who knows what "no plans" means. Maybe it just means not yet.
I think there's a perception amongst devs that damage meters removes gameplay by making it easy to get that information, but I think it just makes the problem of people copying builds off a website worse.
i mean its mostly a single player game, theres legit 0 reason to not have a dmg breakdown
oh nice 2lp frost
It could expand the viability of builds simply because we would be able to know that some obscure mechanic is actually dealing a lot of damage
are those the artillery flowers?
is there somewhere with a list of all the mob types?
yeah, those dinos suck.
90% of the time, I don't pay attention to what enemies are called :p
lol
rn my most hated are the ember mages/the stupid lightning pylon
those are the fastest casters
i have to always target them first
lightning pylons and artillery flowers
atleast w flower
i can perma dodge
but pylon
casts 2 fast and some will hit u regardless
true pylons are worse. I hate both just because they're so annoying to go hunting for them.
i had a map earlier w like 10 flowers casting
i just ignored em
and kept teleing
LOL
eventually they stop and start moving towards u
that's fine as long as you don't need to stop to pick up loot lol
what loot
fair
😭
then u get sniped by a tower
as u hover over the loot
its a 4lp
but ur dead

kek
you are hurting me
greedy
how dare you make me remember this trauma 🤣
I don't actually know if it was 4lp. Didn't get to look. And that means it definitely was.
LOL
lets go buy 40 lowest exalted rings
see if we get any other good unique rolls
oh nvm it'll make them bound to MG
forgot
guess i need to run lightlless and do a accessory run
hmmm will need a double throwing ring
oof
damn
3lp peak almost max roll and 5 attributes
3lp foot with +11 attributes
good ass lightless run
nice
289% crit roll on peak
pog
oh it's max attribute roll too
sheeeet
i thought it was 6
yeah can use that for sure
11 attribute is nice as well
ohhhhh
+4 frost claw relic
holy shiiiet
another with +4 volcanic and +2 frost lmao
your drop rates are always so sick
LOL
I guess the game is apologizing to you :p
oh that frost claw relic has open prefix
make sure to creation taht claw
ez perfect for 2lp
slap in cast spd and creation lmao
or int
holy crap yeah i could 1.5b for both
yea
higher roll on spell dmg as well at least
lets grab all these rings
see if we get another nice ring
oh i need to do more lightless runs now
no creations
shiiiit i could save this peak for my rogue now
or sell it
i think a max roll +3 woudl still make bank
i know the boots are big money
might check those out as well
cmon boss man, drop me some good stuff again
got 40 ascension runes
one creation
lmao
ah well least i can dupe that +4
lets do another exalted run, see if i get something good again
or a unique run this time
3lp drago dagger x3
but low base
the resists and ward on crit are maxed, but 3 not 4% crit
rip
alright looks like i can make some good money tonight
lets ee if anything sells lmao
Heyo pals suggestions for key pieces of gear for an aergons fireball crit build? I guess a well rolled exalted sceptre will be bis together with fundamental criterion
prob better to go reowyn staff instead of sceptre
scepts are all p dog
i assume u can go fundi+ stack attunement+ int and stack dodge+ armor for the reowyn
yeah but imagine if double bis
😆
Actually not a bad plan. Stacking dodge/armor/attunement/int as well as crit seems tough though
not rly, shouldnt really be taking the same slots
Hi there folks! What is better for mono pushing (currently at ~600)? 140 crit multi + 80% armor shred OR 70% elemental pen (my main damage dealer is elemental damage)
ok i have to stck some ward first, took one step i died immediately at only 660 corruption

Seems like dodge will be the lagger so just getting 1000 dodge I guess gives 100 flat which should be huge
should be able to get alota dodge
but tbh idk how good the greater fireball will be in general
but as far as dodge goes, u can prob get 2.5-3k+ if u stack it too
probably get double red ring early so u can ignore resistance and just stack dodge/armor on all ur suffixes
Good morning fellow spark charge enjoyers
Can confirm the dodge rating
I was at 3k
Hmmm actually henkz
Since you will need to stack dex for dodge ratimg
Better look at invocations with second rune as Lightning
So you boost it with fundamental criteron also
Plasma orb is usually played, but idk what else is there viable for Gon as second rune
tbh am just not sure invocations have enough damage to complete against claw gang rn
not even taking into account the utility/ward gen
I seen some electro spreading plague build, that uses the triple lightning invocation to cast the expanding electro cycle to clear all the mobs in 1 shot, but it was low cor video and the bossing was terrific
With the 2hand plague bearer staff or W/E is the name
alota builds sound good on paper
but the dmg just wont be there prob
LOL
compared to spark charge getting +400 added lightning damage
the more interesting thing is boosting that up rn
like at lower corr can prob drop flame ward from the skill tree and use it but take runebolt for the 21% damage boost
or some other skills
LOL
Well at 3k dodge, you get +300 flat dmg, which is okay
But the defenses are meh
Sure you dodge 90% of the stuff, after using potion
But anything that touches you is rip
Does someone have a good frostbite RM build?
Made by BinaQc
no offense to philipov but plenty of things wrong in this one too.
freeze rate multi blessing from lagon>increased cold dmg blessing
cold res blessing from heorot?
chance to frostbite is bis if you get good blessing, otherwise chance to shred cold res or increased armor
not taking bottom left on frostclaw tree is huge mistake especially if he plays with ele nova.
so much ward and way better aoe, and even single target dps is much better
nice, this is the feedback I'm looking for
I'm taking notes
He’s been playing with this a ton
We were talking about it
also, i assume glyph is only specced for cfc invocation, just have blank fire skill on bar for the invo and skill static orb for better access to lightning aegis imo
yeah, I need to add those to the endgame version of the build. Not for the frontpage version. Can't do those without t6 spellslinger
yeah t6 spellslinger and the mana efficiency idols for frostclaw are kinda needed and close to 200 mana.
the frontpage version of the build is given with only things you can get at level 60
atleast from my testing around 200 mana you are very safe from never running out of mana even with unlucky streaks of gift of winter
yeah i didnt look at the low lvl stuff, my suggestions only apply to endgame
I tried static orb for lightning aegis. Didn't seem that good. Lightning aegis falls off any time you take damage, even if you don't lose HP.
because pre 200 corruption pretty much anything works if you just have decent amount of freeze rate multi and chance to frostbite on hit
and I'm constantly getting hit for amounts I can't even see on my ward and losing lightning aegis.
because 25% of hp is like 300-400 damage, which is a drop in the bucket when you have over 10k ward.
yeah i dont cast static orb manually at all
unfortunately, I don't have a way to cast it automatically. Using flame rush isn't on the table.
i have quite low cooldown on flame rush so i just use it often and have nearly perma aegis
right now, I'm trying out speccing teleport and using unspecced cold snap. The node that refreshes haste isn't bad.
for flame ward it's good that you have point in the armor node, many ppl undervalue the massive armor you can gain from flame ward
have you tested the traversal version of runic invocation btw? i feel like having teleport unspecced is kind of waste
I haven't tried enigma. Adding 5 to the already 12 second cooldown sounds bad.
I have CDR of course, but not int-stacking levels of CDR
with ele nova u can proc 3x ele nova with teleport, have armor, resistances, ward retention etc up permanently too bad it doesnt gain a tag from ele nova.
would help alot with rune generation
If teleport could get a fire tag, it would change everything.
I would be able to play lightning and use frostguard :p
yeah i guess with enigma you would have to play without the author of arcana node
yeah
yeah, I really like immutable order :p
i know most rms use it
it's not just that it removes needing to manage runes. The mana refund is big.
i assume warmages initiative is very short leap?
Am I the only one using the +freeze buff from teleport with frostbite build?
it's a short leap, but it can warp you through obstacles like Sanctum doors the same way that flame rush does.
but yeah, biggest changes i would do to your endgame setup would be frost claw and blessings, and adding twisted heart. otherwise imo it looks solid
we kinda need more movement skills for mage imo
I've taken too long to add the chaining nodes to FC for the endgame build, they should definitely be there. And yeah, blessings and TH too
Getting the FC chain felt like my damage increased 4x
well it atleast doubles your single target because instead 1x projectiles hitting the initial target now 2x projectiles hit it
wait, 3x
mmm, 3x sounds right. It was a lot.
There's also a few things in the equipment section I need to fix
i think binas itemization is on point apart from the freeze rate per stack of chill affix on armor and helmet. i'd rather get cold pen for frostbite, cc is good already and those affixes dont help dmg at all.
really, you prefer the pen to more frostbite chance?
Whats wrong with the maxroll one? With that gear it does look OP
no ofc frostbite chance is nr1
but the secondary affix on binas build is freeze rate per stack of chill
oh yeah, I also prefer flat frostbite pen to freeze rate per chill.
i would swap that out for cold pen, or even to cold damage over time
well thats the thing, freeze rate per chill doesnt get converted to cold pen with snowdrifts.
int is solid middle ground in regards to defense and dmg
vitality would be pure defensive choice
I cant decide on if I want to use frozen ire or not
I've been wondering what would happen if I replaced all my increased edot affixes with int. edot is more damage, but int has so much going for it outside of just increased damage.
without 2lp i would not use ire
I can get the gear I want, just have to choose 🙂
I really like the speed of wrong warp
I am so slow with fronze ire
I use ire with 1lp. I got the t6 spellslinger slam on it.
and ladle has speed
oh yea i don't use tp so i don't benefit from wrongwarp
cast speed
best part of ire is the proc
yeah thats what I am thinking about
it procs ALOT with frostclaw
especially when fightning formosus :p
or dragon
and those are like the two most important bosses to farm
formosus and dragon are so easy even if you don't freeze them
I guess the boss system won't allow perma freeze
thought you already couldn't permafreeze after a few
Maxroll has issues with not updating the guides consistently enough.
And they aren’t always proven to push far or high
tbf I think that build is like the one exception
but generally maxroll has been pretty sad yeah
my problem with the maxroll guide is that it doesn't explain itself well enough for new players, and the low level stuff is kind of out of order and confusing.
I took the questions that people kept coming in here to ask, and put them in the guide
The authors said they were aiming for build guides that does not require a lot of gear or effort to make
yet the build shows +4 frostclaw
yes, bit confusing, since most of the maxroll guides I read for mage, requires a lot weird gear options or hard to get stuff
Like 2hand sword with frostbite...
shred I mean
or recommending low life for ward gen, when ward is almost no investment from skills
going to make a legendary frosen ire, t7 -mana cost, freeze rate or cast speed?
2lp
probably cast speed, right?
t7 mana cost and castspeed t5 imo
it's tempting, but that cooldown
you'll have so much freeze rate/pen elsewhere though
I have 3500 freeze rate now
since freeze multi is a suffix on weapons, I'd try to get a donor with both t5 cast speed and t5 FRM, and at least you can get one of them if it doesn't hit perfectly
going for t7 mana cost and t5 cast speed
huh either my brain is too sleep deprived to math or I pretty massively overestimated snowdrift lol
I think its the former
3500 freeze rate should be 700% pen right or am I dumb?
yeah, 1/5th
yeah idk why but for some reason I thought it was a tenth of that for a minute lol
I should sleep
it's because they give it as "2% per 10"
snowdrift is actually so silly lol
yeah my brain just couldn't comprehend that rn lol
Is freeze rate even worth stacking? At higher mono's when enemies have loads of health the freeze chance is going to be <1%
you stack it mostly for the pen from snowdrift but I'm sure you still freeze things fairly easily
frostbite builds use snowdrift, which convert FRM into more damage. You stack it as a primary stat, and can keep freeze relevent much longer than other builds. The downside is you don't stack int.
maybe not tho idk, I swapped to spark charges
Is that a spellblade build?
actually quite liked the frostbite version but spark charge seems to have alot easier access to higher ward, at least on bosses
to be fair all of mages masteries can play frostbite and the gearing is quite similar on all of them
true. I meant just the build we're discussing right now. I don't know anything about how spellblades do it with shatterstrike
in an optimized build, just don't get hit 4head 😄
from what I heard, there's no such thing as perma freezing after having frozen a boss x many times
idk the exact details
best part of frm is that it's a hybrid affix on other pieces of gear apart from weapon/offhand. so u gain both ward retention and dmg from it
9 seconds to kill julra with frostbite, bricked the frozen ire 🙂
it kind of gives you everything you want from int, except for CDR
it works fine 🙂
rip
only boss that's hard to perma freeze/stun is orobyss
I heard that heorot is immune to freeze, but I can't confirm that.
that he is
oh right, forgot lagon and heorot
I usually mess up the first freeze on shade
but on those the dmg is avoidable easily
and he gets off flying around
Ok so on spellblade it's not worth stacking freeze multi? I'll focus on DPS
I'd been more than happy to find out I'm misinformed, but regardless orobyss is kinda the only one that really matters, the other bosses you can just retry without repercussions
Spellblade also does frostbite with FRM. I just don't know anything about the details.
yeah the freeze rate stacking has to do with the unique snowdrift boots, not the class
freeze rate is dps
yeah, you only lose abit of stability when you die on monobosses
I think they removed that. I think you don't lose any anymore
I thought I'd noticed that but I wrote it off as me being insane lmao
don't usually die much on bosses unless I'm doing some scuffed build on an alt
I recall mike confirming they removed any stability loss from bosses with 1.0
You loose a small amount of stability if you die or not finish the boss, I use it to re-do bosses
sometimes I need to rebuild stabiilty
I think it's time for science
if you don't take the blessing from of them, you can redo them
only works with npc blessings
not the instant popup
yeah, I've noticed that. I use it to redo prophecies sometimes.
after a while doing that, stability drops below the threshold
oh? yeah i guess last time i died on a boss was back in beta lol
there are some situations where you lose stability, like on normals if you do 2 quest echoes and leave the zone, you will lose stability. But I think not for dying.
you don't just lose stability, you will have to redo the quest echo
thank you for confirming this, I had this happen once lmao
it's an annoying bug, but thankfully only affects normals. But maybe some version of that is what's happening if you leave a boss after killing it without completing the quest.
you don't loose stability every time, just some of the time
really weird
sometimes I can farm 30x void horrors in row, no loss
then suddenly I am below after 1kill next time
Man I would really try frostbite, I have most of the gear I just can't get snowdrift to drop with lp. Did soo many prophecies, dropped a lot of boots with lp2 and 3 but not snowdrift. Checked like 3 times the rarity, but it says common. Guess just unlucky
that's surprising, I feel like I rarely see them without lp
but afaik only found one with 2 lp
soo tired already of stormtide, lessons of the metropolis, eterra's path..but snowdrift does not want to drop 😄
Had one with 1 LP but got the worst slam out of 4
well, if you're doing frostbite, snowdrift are worth using even with 0 lp.
they're just that important
true
but it really hurts to use them without a move speed slam :p
I just have a pretty good spark charge build, so would only swap to try frostbite if I get good gear. But yeah as you said a snowdrift with move speed slam, is all I need 😄
Is there a passive node or skill node that reduces damage from shocked enemies?
passive in rm
first tier of runemaster, middle node
Awesome, thank you
You lose stability even leaving a quest echo in empowered
I use the 1st quest of the last ruin for ez void horror prophecies and everytime I port out I have to do another mono
Ah just saw this lol. I lose it every single time ya
oh yeah. I meant just that you typically don't do the quest echoes in empowered.
except the boss
oh, I bet what's happening when you (only sometimes) lose stability after porting out of boss, is you're leaving the zone
I domt even have stability for the boss tbh. Just enough for 1st quest
I bet if you kill the boss, leave without completing the quest, and leave the monolith, it will dock your stability
hmm
It might be a bug, since dying no longer makes you lose stability
it's definitely a bug
Not a huge deal but reading this convo made me remember that I did find it weird at the time
anyone know of a good "leveling mage as an alt when you have access to slam stuff and buy MG gear" guide? trying to figure out some good uniques I can just slam some crap on and skills that may not be part of a standard leveling guide and work well for just mindlessly grinding through the tedium of doing unlocks and stuff again
I'm just using an exalted runed visage right now, but I think a 3LP or higher Snowblind would be pretty damn good.
I have a section in my frostbite guide that has ideas for alts to do just that.
you can level with ignite frostclaw 👀
calamity and firestarter come online almost instantly
i messed up and accidentally destoryed my helmet
and um well I dont have any viable replacements rn
oof. Well, if you have a snowblind, you could throw that on
I do have a snowblind, but then my resistances and crit chance may take a hit
but I am assuming with enough ward resistances are not that important
crit chance isn't important for frostbite. Dots can't crit.
Yeah, how do frostbite stacks work?
I get 300 stacks and it seems like 10 stacks are consumed per second
game guide doesn't explain the full mechanics behind Dots maybe I have not checked
https://www.lastepochtools.com/ailments/frostbite Frostbite has a duration of 3 seconds
You make a good point, I should add a section actually explaining frostbite :p
the stacks aren't consumed, but they're expiring
for arcane current in the mage tree, does arcane lightning go off its tree? like does it take those bonuses or is it the base attack
much appreciated
Its weird because cold has three aliments and types it seems, freeze, chill and frostbite
wow void has two types of DOTS
Frostbite +ignite when?
W8 is that how to make dots more powerful and scale?
Is to just get more dots and apply more dots?
combined with scaling yeh
you shouldve known this tho
10 stacks of ignite with enough int and modifiers ticks away for like 80k
I think the reason i didn’t consider it
Is because
The way our passives lay out
You get ignite from fire skills
and plenty of builds can insta proc 7 stacks
Or chill/frostbite from cold skills
You can’t get like
Ignite on hit w/ cold
Oh w8
Yeah i meant as in like
Multiple types of dots
Not stacking one type
can stack frost / ignite together pretty easily
But also the conversion nodes make that more obnoxious to do
It depends
If the conversion nodes (if any) convert them on the skill
But ye
Frostburn inc?
havent played wow in so long, what was mages super early on flame / frost spell
yeh that
Actually looks fun
not touching wow or blizz with even son gokues power pole
They also get a new passive thru the new hero trees that when they cast meteor it casts a comet storm
It’s p neat
Neat.
Well something for me to mess with later
I think dots still want to get better-than-linear scaling by finding multiple stats you can scale at the same time, which multiply together. You'll only get a linear buff to damage from adding ignite, it won't synergize with the frostbite.
Hmmm. True
I tried a round of glacier frostbite on runemaster, it is 1/4 of the damage of FC frostbite, so not bad
honestly the case for pretty much every build in the game in my experience
yep, that's the fundamental principle for creating a build. Crit does that for hits, snowdrift for frostbite.
yeah
I mean it it having linear scaling is fine a supplemental damage type
If already stacking ele dot and maybe ele dmg
yeah, it's fine to get it because it won't compete with other stats in most cases
It will make the frostbite a tad weaker but bringing an entire other dmg type online would be kind of neat
Yeah
Like application of the same amount of frostbite stacks and then adding on a number of ignite stacks would be a very cool interaction
taking ignite would be instead of like... chance to slow
on offhand
lets see if we made monies
I've made those changes to the guide. The stuff about blessings, endgame fc routing, and some of the item selections
cold DMG flat, cast speed t7, freezerate ideally t7too, chance to chill best stats for off-hand frostbite
I even have a cheeky t1 crit sealed
has anyone here tested channeling lightning blast? im theorycrafting a build but it seems like channled LB is not affected by cast speed at all but a fixed hit rate per second
https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/BEX0apXQ
Not really planning on pushing much further than 300corr as there's no point but should I prioritize int stacking on more gear?

Gotcha, thanks
After leveling a new character I am only using 1 recast of frostclaw, don't really need the 2 back and 3rd
Legendary Frozen Ire with Stun Chance ❤️ -_-
trying to push 2h shatter strike as far as i can but staying alive in 400c is a bit tough. i get up to about 10-11k ward but when fighting large packs i'm struggling to stay above 4k. takes 2-4 hits to kill mobs. if i swap out the idols i lose a lot of damage and if i change the amulet i lose a lot of survivability from potions, which keeps me alive most of the time. i feel like i need more attack speed for ward generation but that comes at the cost of a load of damage ._. can anyone recommend some changes to push 500c?

@sturdy summit Hi there, so i have snowdrift and fb shackles. Other than that not much i saw but i may miss some stuff in my stash
i have some idols with mana efficiency
swapping off dis?
that moment after teleporting into the center of a group of enemies, right after you realize all of them are Lithacs...
😞
may give it a try yeah, dont know how to progress further with dis.
and wanna taste something else 🙂
Since Kyo's taken it up to 800, it's certainly possible
i feel like i can play 2 differents builds quite easily, will keep dis. for sure, may come back to it sooner or later

actually i feel like i could chase for items for 2/3 different builds
but before being able to filter items properly i need to feel te builds i may end up with 🙂
Esp considering that was with enemies scaled for 2 people 😂
not even, ex doesnt even go that high
No this was me borrowin a buddies corr for build tests
since i literally cannot be assed to push it myself
( we really need to be able to just select our corr level as we see fit from 0 all the way to whatever our highest completed is, including what we do in co op )
would be such a massive QoL improvement
I'm almost to 600. I've barely upgraded my gear since 300, I'm just riding off the power I got from taking chaining FC nodes.
only difficulties I face are skill issues :p
my original yellow gear dis variant was capable of 200
exalts pushed it to 350
better uniques 500
slammed uniques up to 650
Does the runic energy specialisation do anything for you if use rowyn's frostguard invocation?
and then current variant with ll 800
I just got 2lp shackles. Haven't even upgraded to 1lp yet. I'm looking forward to bricking the good one :)
before i geared it righ ttho, it couldnt even do base monos
like emp of corpses would murder me, but i coulda beat her if ireally wanted to, had the damage just not the defense / cooldowns for movement
wonder if i can get anything from lightless today
soon as i got them proper stats on yellow gear i facerolled her
then i got my exalts
as long as I don't do something dumb like running face first into exploding dinos, mapping is really easy because everything gets frozen.
you can ask ex. my power skyrocketed thanks to the MG and its the reason i will always be an mg main
REally the fact ive managed to push dis to the point ive pushed it is an accomplishment
600 for relic, 400 for the helm
million?
ye
sorry I had to go comatose for a bit earlier - how do I find your guide? 😄
hopefully the other relic sells, would be nice
Release / 1.0.5
Mage / Runemaster
Leveling / Cycle Starter / Beginner / Ranged / DoT
gonna try some ascensions and see if i get anything again
dude burning more than a few of those at once is so tedious
I wish they'd remember the last rune or w/e you used so it just stayed in the thing
it manages to do that for shattering runes, but for whatever reason, it doesn't work for ascension.
no lp3 this time for me lmao
you sold a +3 fc for how much????
or was it +4
I think they did it to "protect" your high end rune or something but tbh I just wish the behavior was consistent, and ideally someone with a clue what they were doing with UX would have just added a tickbox "[_]Remember last selections"
Way too much for a +3 unless they skyrocketed again
agreed. probably a good idea to leave that as feedback or a suggestion.
So @sturdy summit do you think i can try your build ?
What build with filter do you guys recomend for runemaster?
for corrupt 100-200 so i can feel it ?
well, yeah, there's nothing stopping you
ok ill do it and share my build once im done with it for advices
sounds good
I wrote a guide, but I don't claim ownership over the build. Lots of people doing frostbite that I've learned from.
new things i learn today
3 exact boots from lightless arbor duplicate same stats, t6 movespeed
1st shoes i tried directly sell it for 200k, no one buys after 6 hours
2nd shoes i managed to get all tier 5 meta build, sold out in 10 min for 4 milion
3rd shoes was failed, 1 affix only tier 3, but sold also for like 2 million
hehe
people scared of crafting it themselves; would rather buy a brick :p
or, it doesn't sound like a brick.
but probably people are looking for items that have been worked already so they don't have to risk bricking it.
especially if you're buying it for slamming and don't care about every affix
yeah but kinda suprise me the value goes up so high 200 to 4m, 20x more haha, i was just trying about 4m, dont expect someone buys it lol
yeah they dont wanna brick it, i've done it to alot of cheap ones with the one roll i needed
only to lose that roll if i did removal
realized that if i dont like lightning marksman in long run
can sell that slammed jelkors i got
ez monies
What corruption do you start seeing Omnis more often? I'm at 650 and only seen it twice 😦
yay my baby mage's l3p firestarter got both prefixes
anyone else loathe running temporal though? even cheesing the gates it's just so tedious

preach the frostbite

Ladle's More damage doesn't apply to ailments, only to spells, so you'll probably be better off with an exalted wand if you have anything close.
-
You can move the points in Inscribed Instruments somewhere else until you have a sceptre with t6 spellslinger on it. It's not helpful with a wand, because that gives crit multi.
convert more people, grow the cult
throw that laddle outta window get an ice sceptre with spellslinger
🙏
he has better rolled gloves than me 😳
the substitute for 72% ward retention from Inscribed Instruments is 50% ward retention from Warden in the basic mage tree.
opulent?
off-hand
oh yeah
Opulent Focus
well, the 6 points in Inscribed Instruments are doing nothing either way.
they're only for sceptre
surely you have a sceptre
i do have frozen ire yes
then 72% ward retention is great
but u know, i also have 600% ward retention
what would you put it into that's better?
well first of all i would have to try how the retention feels without the 72%
granted i can just stack more cold res to cover it as well
but that's a trade that might not be worth it.
it might be better to remove some cold resist and replace it with something else
i could get 6 more points into cryomancer in sorc tree

ah right, you're taking the int from calculated destruction instead of cryomancer
well yes thats what allows me to crit as much as i do
could also consider getting 6 points into mana shell
there are a number of items that are not great, but I assume that's just because that's all you have
just in case: the spell damage on the offhand doesn't affect frostbite
i think this assumption may not be correct because i went pretty fast to select something that looked ok to me, but i may have better 🙂
the flame ward charge is something I like sealed t1, because it's very cost effective. I'm using it now, but I alter how I spec flame ward when I take it.
but I wouldn't take it over some real prefixes
so yeah, try to replace all those pieces with spell damage on them asap
it's not useless, but it's inefficient
and try to get a chest that has 2 good prefixes on it.
and I suggest target farming Reign of Dragons until you get a Twisted Heart relic

are the "erased" unique a bait? I feel like it is for levelling but weaver's thing could end up with great things?
how can i have a good idea of my damage output etc?
They can be bis if they roll correctly
ok, i feel like i lost a lot of damage with the new version, and lack of resistances but may have better sustaining thanks to ward
Ward is affected by damage reduction (resistances)
yoooo
hello, guys im at level 10 and i have 10 unspend passive pointe but i can't use them idk why .. if anyone can help me with it 😦
go into the mage tree and spend them lol
into the mage tree?
yup
are you trying to like allocate points into nodes that you dont have unlocked?
no in the first node
can you upload a screenshot?
