!
why? it served no purpose or reason in a game where you can change everything else whenever you want/need to
I like the idea of making a Forge Guard / Paladin or a Vk
Now it feels less unique
But I am glad for everyone else
yoooo
I know it was really requested
It was an arbitrary wall to increase play time, nothing more. You can literally still just play it the same way and it's like nothing has changed.
Agree to disagree
It just adds an option, but sure
I agree that it helped make characters more unique to each other when you couldn't mastery swap
but in terms of quality of life and as someone who is busy with college + work I like the mastery swap
mastery swap 👍
You can just choose not to use it and play the same, and we still dont know what it takes to unlock that option. For all we know you gotta beat the new uber to do it
Which would be kinda funny ngl
I doubt it sees a downside, there's no reason for it to have one, but definitely for me who likes to do dumb things, it makes limit testing so much easier.
I'm really curious though about which skill changes stick, and which ones dont work.
Also really love it
I've never heard a good argument to make decisions like these final, or not giving people respecs
Right, at the end of the day it's just an opinion, at the end of the day we should be arguing over something important, like why Soul Feast was given to Warlock without a replacement.
Or how high that champion affix smite on throw can go
And if it can go on something other than mace
Like sceptre
That would free up so many idol slots
I missed that one, but yeah, that would be great. We really need that idol rework.
And, ofcourse, if CoF gets a proper boost to champion drops
otherwise it is like nemesis weapons, to rare to be achievable
Yeah, nem weapons being rare, on top of them needing to be in hand to upgrade was not a good idea, which is a shame becuase it's a neat system. Also, I NEED more info on those set shards
I guess that redemption rune could help out with the nemesis weapons. Maybe CoF gets those runes on prophecies?
Crimson Smite looks dope
Feels more in line with phys, like for a bleed stacking buils
I keep seeing people say volatile reversal adds 180% damage but I don't see how?
isn't that 30% more on hit and 60% more over time?
No since its Increased ,that are additive with each other
how can it be counted twice to go from 90 to 180 tho?
And the 1st one is not on Hit, its generic Dmg
Because you create 2 rfits with VR and hit twice applying the debuff twice
"enemies hit by" doesnt sound like it will apply twice to me
have anyone actually test this
Yes, and it has been confirmed by devs too
doesnt anyone think that's weird
as it should i guess
Yup
i'm pretty sure there are few spamming skills in the game that has a "enemies hit by this take more damage" node on their trees
Thoses nodes are the reason 99.99% of Sentinel take VR
according to the logic above that would lead to infinite more damage stack
yeah but the logic i mean
if you had enough CDR yea
The 2.8x damage multiplier that will assuredly be removed in S2 is the reason I am worried for all sentinel DOT builds... but we will see what they do to compensate
kekw they added smite on weapons which nobody needed to after idols rework
the bleed conversion affix looks really good tho
Are the changes to sentinel out?
a bunch of the teased nodes are pinned in this chat
patchnotes are coming like 5 days before the update
no the patch notes are releasing 5 days before the update, so in like 25 days

anyways I see pearls of the swine in the compiled image and it gives vitality so thats going on my vk
Hope they made void orbs crazier, that build is hella fun af
auto cast dorbs gaming
Autobomber ❤️
ye
Think they'll drop patch notes on a sunday? Nah, 1 day (edit: I'm blind, day too long, ye 2 days)
(but maybe if we're really nice we'll get them friday the week before, so 5 days)
lol didnt even realize the trailer dropped and am just now watching it
sentinel rework see's sentinel wielding a 2h mace and shield
time to run that one 2h sword that gives crit stuff based on mana, and then the shield that inreases mana costs by 50%
i love how the sentinel rework in the trailer shows off the weapon that sends all the orbs to wherever you use the one skill, and then no one ever actually used that for its intended effect
oooo a weapon with chance to electrify on hit and chance to cast smite is very big
thats a nice champion affix
oh interesting, they're allowing mastery respecialization? I remember seeing SO MANY PEOPLE clown on people that they would never add that. I need to go back and find those people so i can clown on them.
in the defense of people in the past -> EHG was 100% against it until now
you mean worldsplitter the axe?
yes and yes
they were also against titans grip/monkey wrench
and now sentinel gets to be D3 crusader
as a wow fury warrior main for many years, this makes me very happy
ye
i had at one time wanted to buy the $1000 pack to see if i could get an item with titans grip, and got denied before i could even buy the pack saying i'd be the 4th person asking for such a thing
AND LOOK AT IT NOW
SENTINEL GONNA GETIT
i think the person who denied me was also that one skull pfp guy that left the project
i mean he was just reiterating what the team felt at that time, but it still amuses me
I cant remember his name, for all i know he's prob still in here and just not in a staff position
i wanna say it started with an S, if we look at old forum posts from 2-3+ years ago, you'd most likely see his name
sarno?
maybe? his last post is from 2021 it looks like, so probably
it was nothing against him, i just thought it'd be funny if he saw the latest trailer and how the devs went back on like 2 things
i love the name that immortal supporter changed their name to
But it is one of the more surprising ones
😂 reminds me of when jerle kept getting pinged here
yup, also feels weird to see vlad as a mod
All that responsibility
vlad is our lad
If I had to choose between responsibility and a bean burrito, I'd take the burrito every time
wise words
I am 99% in the trailer, when Sentinel uses Erasing Strike, he also makes a little dash forward
Sentinel rework + champion affixes, im gonna have a blast with manifest armor 🥳
Isn’t the only viable manifest armor build spamming shield throw
I feel like that thing does no damage otherwise
No spell MA is viable aswell
Just doesnt feel as good til you have some specific gear stats
2 hand + shield is gonna be bonkers aswell
Big dmg upgrade while keeping survivability
You are the guy that made a video about Spell MA right ?
Hum...
I do have 2.5k hours in like manifest armor alone
xD
Dread has a video from my build from years ago
But thats not the spell version
This is the spell version from 1.0 release a year ago, still unoptimized gear but it shows gameplay look feel
What is the Retaliation Fire thing ?
Its a inate skill from manifest armor
It triggers every ~300 flat dmg taken
And also scales from spell dmg
Really ? Never seen it mentioned anywhere
Yeah almost no info on it
Aye
The new weaver amulet is gonna be busted on this, free crit multi and penetration, 200% hp regen for man armor is amazing since one belt minion hp regen affix is 200 flat regen already.
Ez 2mil dmg per hit
i don't get why people use hammer when going bleed. forged weapons do way more bleed and hit a lot faster than hammers.
Because you get to procc Smite
forged weapons used to also proc smite with that one sword. but a few patches ago they secretly removed it. kinda sucks that forged weapons 'use your weapons stats' but don't actually use them. they should instead just say 'use attack stats' instead.
They never procced Smite
really? i could've sworn it did but maybe that was just my warpath
Was your Warpath
inb4 manifest armor is unchanged 😦
Is there a post/list of all the new items we know about yet? Or are peeps still going frame by frame in the trailer?
I just want the new vitality amulet
Pearls ?
yea
Amazing thank you!
thats fine the new affixes and gear + sentinel rework itself shouldbe sufficient
I hope forged weapons and animated armor can inherit the new affixes
Friends and i all saw mana guide and now i have 2 people that want to focus funnel me mana while i play forge strike 0 cd spammer
So now i just gotta determine if i wanna play critstrike or bleedstrike
If sentinel rework finally gives us a taunt, like bears have, and besides our ma having it, oh sweet god i'll have so much fun with double focus
Would it really help much? Non-staff 2 handers don't generally have a lot of good spell support, but I guess some have some.
World edge and the increased mana cost shield with 50+ mana cost smelters
all the apathy maw vk nerds running bulwark of the last abyss with their favorite axe
hell 2 piece vk set with apathy maw
I was asking about spell MA, world splitter and horns was my first thought on 2h+shield too
2h + shield is FG only though
Bleed 2h+flayers is my second thought
thats 1 ive thought about so many times in the past
my tank rogue will love that
no wait
thats rogue
shit
😂
meh i can still make it work very well on my old bleed forge strike build
I personally would plan for crit on your no cooldown forge strike
bleed variant lets me take more attack speed, crit variant i dont get as much
Since we're probably losing VR's 2.8x multi and not sure how we'll compensate yet
but if sentinel doesnt get a taunt and i'll have 2 focus channelers feeding me mana, i may go stun taunt set helm
and then if i go stun taunt set helm, i may as well just go bleed build
now i just need @willow wedge to allow me to equip a 2h and a shield on lastepochtools LMAO
Shadow beacon forge guard gaming
Void guard?
Patience, apparently we need armor shred on bows too, I've heard reports it was stealth-fixed
missed opportunity if we arent allowed spear and shield for hoplite/spartan sentinel builds
The new vengeance spear looks like it might be fun for that
oh no, this and mana guide

i play very small i now only shield bash but i want trtally other skills bc borring animation haha
92 lvl now
i played max 2 week maybe or 3
wait huh?
i not test all skills that why i play only one build form max rool
Erasing strike on void knight is just pure dopamine with the giant smack
I hope smelters wrath gets a visual update in April
show build i not know much games good and skill tree works
if i have forge guard cant swap to void? i must make new hero?
Currently yes
After the update in April no
Whats mana guide
Spent 30mins yesterday to find the sweet spot for it
So that i'd never have to let go off the spinning button
With this fix and the upcoming VR rework i guess it wont be a thing anymore
amulet that lets mages channel focus while moving, essentially turning them into a far better warpath, lol
or you can channel focus on a buddy as a mana battery while being able to move around
wait? if i delete hero tree skill can change to void? or just pernament ?
no
you can't swap mastery currently
however in the april update the ability to swap your mastery is going to be added
You must wait until April to change your mastery
but if you don't want to wait, you can make a new character now
what toast said
Yeah, what Engi said

Side note, do multiple focuses actually stack their buffs?
at least, the ones that are the same
i would imagine yes, the mana regen stacks
Imagine or tested? If it's like holy aura for example, every individual stat/node is a separate non-stacking buff
ive played with it before, but that was ages ago
i havent played LE since july last year
idk
fair
I think Rune of Redemption is gonna be my new favorite rune
I just had an idea
World Splitter + Horn of Ukheiros Shield Rush
why world splitter?
for aoe
?
You can even solve the mana cost by paying health instead 😄
If they fix shield rush's megajank, I am definitely on board
Yup
necrotic sentinel with one of the necrotic axes and the spirit plague on hit shield
do it do it do it
whats the meta build for sentinel atm
Hammer Bleed Paladin Vessel Of Strife is probably the best
Not too far behind you have
Erasing Strike VK
oh it's still hammerdin bleed
Im playing erasing strike VK and its a lot of fun - FWIW
There's several. My personal favorites are holy trail javelin and judgement
This sounds so insane that it might be fun
any palarus warpathers here? do wp echoes proc palarus?
They should, but I can test it to be sure if you want
no worries gonna test myself soon need to test other thingies too
Yes, echo's can proc palarus, they can also proc vortex pennant, and those axes can also proc smite when you have smite idols.
They count as you, so they also count towards the proc limits
I still remember the guy that found that when the relic first dropped
Was hilarious
Everyone was trying to determine the best mastery for vortex pennant and that guy was like HOLY CRAP TRY VOID ECHOES
now that channels are different in that you can regen mana during them, i cant wait to have a mana battery mage fueling me mana so i can take the 20 cost per sec node that gives massive aoe and damage gains
Well, VK gets a lot of value trough echoes, sure. But that is really just for bosses. During mono's its just always a screen behind.
Paladin on the other hand gets a good quantity of generic damage, boosting proc rate. Both have merrit
so I just saw this and I cannot wait to make a terrible build around it
what's new with ES VK?
I want to use it with forgemasters might and become BEEF
lol.... so that was spoiled haha
its been spoiled for a bit
Wonder what "use" javelin means
vlad pinned all the sentinel spoilers in here
But what's after "less" 😂
Wonder if the new weapon can proc javelins siege barrage
I'd assume so
what the f^ck
is it time to bring back mana on vengeance affix?
because iron blade also procced it
we were doing a lot of stupid shit with that back then
oh you dirty dog
i cant remember why we were using mana on vengeance affix, but i remember it was for something really stupid
i wanna say the 100 fire damage belt, but im not sure
🤔
that sounds like something goofy to do
it was used on sigil dps build lmfao
I'm new so Im just erasing striking with echoes and obliterating things while running as fast as possible + 3 uses of void cleave. Tons of fun I think imma make a sentinel for the new patch and do something similar - the fire changes look crazy.
well, when vengeance, riposte, and iron blade all procced the mana gain
naaa i think it was something stupider than that
maybe that was an actual use case for it, but i swear it was something dumber
that chest affix is gonna be golden again for just mana dumping fat javelins and smites
now the real question is
@waxen nymph is smite fissure fixed yet
LOL
it will never ever be fixed
never ever c:<
engi playing non-vk? what is going on?

Void damage spell forge guard of course
there it is
im going through the spoilers and Im not seeing full fire convert for voild cleave
thats already in the game
it doesnt convert the aura
that's on me
converts normally doesn't convert subskills right?
Not sure, I just know it really needs to be an option when we have frost wall doing it's magic out here with 3 separate conversions
and a node to let you use it with a 2handed hammer
instead of a cleave you dash forward and do a hammer smash
I dont even think you need to have it do that, but it would be a nice touch
the multistrike change is gonna be amazing for my triple dot nonsense, if the patch doesnt mess other things up
void ball bonker is the future, convert now or suffer the consequences
Kinda wanna just say screw it and play fire abyssal echoes paladin again
Nothing more fun than facetanking boss mechanics while healing 5000 a second in an aoe
Go on…
Often times yeah, but not always
It needs a buff, I think it sounded like it works fine? but Vlad would know better
If you mean, does it benefit from Sacrifice and other sources of Flat Dmg specific to Smite (like Devotion), yes its fixed
That's very inconsistent in the game
Hi guys, were the Sentinel changes for season 2 published
.
I bet simple recolors are relatively quick for them to make, so they may try to get a decent number of them out... we'll see
I want Holy Orb
man
cant wait man
im going to play void spin to win
then paladin hammer throw
and forge guard something
i love sentinel
Paladin feels pretty good to me. First time leveling one and it’s so fun.
I just want my skill icons to match the conversions
lol
I cant believe its not butter
Correct I’m not butter
Gimme void manifest armor MTX and il buy it instantly
https://sora.com/g/gen_01jne03taefestx097kv1g2pyn something like this 😅
Not yet

🧈
I'll butter you up, my sweet Engi 👉👈🥵

Excited to rehash my forged weapon spinny dude with a two hander and a shield XD.
Hopefully its viable.
If it doesn’t start off as viable this chat can sure as hell make it viable
idk, forged weapon spinny dude gotta roll aberroth's command or bust imo
Why that?
Lets you use void cleave without interrupting warpath
And fire void cleave buffs your minions if you smack them
mm
But maybe stopping the spin is ok when considering the forged weapons themselves are a lot better stat wise
If we get a better way to maintain forged weapons passively, I would be happier interrupting warpath, but the summon time is so slow
I was thinking Morditas' Reach and Frostbite Shackles for crazy frostbite stacking.
you'd probably want to watch very carefully to use VC right after one spawns
66% increased frostbite duration. 780% chance to apply frostbite
Is the summon forged weapons when hit from sun forged armor set a set bonus or just on one of the armors
Well that wouldn't even really benefit from VC, so you wouldn't need to worry about interrupting warpath with it then - is this viable now?
It's the chest armor
I mean, the damage is there rn, just wasn't tanky without a shield imo.
so it depends what the penalties are for going 2h + shield
and whether forged weapons are getting reworked
What kind of content are you doing?
Been a minute since i played it tbh.
can't play it anymore because its in legacy and all my CoF gear is not equippable.
Gotta level your cod in legacy
You just need to merge your stash
because faction stuff is all technically in your stash somehow
I've never really looked into it, it all depends on how much scaling you're able to get for your FWs outside of the spear and gloves
your faction rank should get inherited into legacy when you merge stash
ah nvm they already told you lul
Oh yeah, they have a "guide" that shows how to do the merge: https://discord.com/channels/368953963267096586/1260279433772662854
Hopefully they eventually just make it obvious that you need to do that in game
Add a tutorial popup when you open legacy for the first time after a cycle has ended
Ez
Looks like you get around 700 frostbite stacks without melee atk speed crafted frostbite shackles/morditas. I guess other scaling would just be minion damage on other pieces of gear.
That’s solid
Getting like a t7 attack speed on the gloves would make it go crazy too.
Does the stats from gloves affix on phantom grip stack with two of them
Yeah
Swag
You can get even bigger attack speed slammed on the spear, too, unless you were already factoring that in
I wish ele DOT could roll on spears lol
Yeah, considering spears have multiple things dedicated to ele DOT in terms of uniques and skills using frostbite, electrify, and ignite
it's kinda weird, just like daggers not having hybrid lightning pen despite them being a primarily rogue weapon, which definitely has multiple lightning melee skills
👀

👀
Don't do that xd
She's gonna give out a negative drop rate boost 😅
but i havent booped ave in ages
good
Yeah absolutely, i think the real question is if theres any hit based two handers that will outperform the frostbite damage.
Not sure. There's also bleed and ignite support available, so those may be able to compete.
mordita's rive goes brrr
1000% frostbite
I'd look into multistrike bladestorm for S2
Salt the wound gloves might be neat for bleed if the crit multi as phys pen with bleed works on forged weapons. I feel like its unlikely though.
Could get 100% of crit multi as bleed penetration if so.
I'm not sure if it does, I think I heard maehlin's bleed to ignite conversion works though
i'm sure it's been asked before so forgive me for asking again, but when they say sentinel is being reworked what do they mean exactly... or does no one know yet?
Check out the pinned section for this channel.
their updating sentinel to not be the least tanky class at high build investment + remove sentinel's reliance on volitiale reversal to do big damage
To be fair, that remains to be seen
Burning Armor on Manifest Armor grants the skill a Fire tag; does that mean everything the Manifest Guardian does (melee attack, whirlwind, etc) is now considered a Fire skill, since it's always dealing some amount of Fire damage?
Well, they're definitely removing the dependence on VR debuffs... whether or not sentinel is still good after will be the question
Not sure if it changes the minion skill tags themselves. For what interaction?
true
Calamity: "Chance to Ignite on Hit with Fire Skills"
Ah, well I'm not sure. I would suspect it does not work, but someone would have to test it I think. Should work (95% sure) on its skills that are normally fire, like forgebreath.
Does not work with forged weapons.
Would have been cool if it did though.
I was specifically thinking of Manifest Armor, since it directly gains the stats from your helmet; is there an equivalent thing for Forged Weapons?
Does not seem to work either way. I suspect that the manifest armour's attack is just a default attack and not a "skill" technically.
All attacks are skills
Forge breath is a fire skill, for example. Its default melee attack is just melee, phys, area.
So why wouldn't this work then?
the minion does have a fire tag
It's not about the minion's tags, it's the tags on the skill your minion uses
Gotcha.
So like forge breath has the fire tag - unless the affix is janky and doesn't work on you minions, then it should definitely work for forge breath
That seems to be the ticket.
works with forge breath
Should also work for the fire nova retaliation skill of manifest armor
I still can't believe that skill isn't mentioned anywhere
I still can't believe its not butter
I have been booped? ME?? Booped?!* How dareth you?!
😅 Hello Amadora!
hai haiiiii
boop
the what skill?!
Its like that uhhh mage fire ward skill without the fire ward
Honestly i wouldnt be surprised if its a straight copy of it
Haha yeah, and its been there a long time
I wonder if Warpath + Lucerne can be good as a FG next patch
Well, I might have seen it wrong, but I think warpath can trigger forgestrike if channeled long enough
Yes
Channeling warpath, a forge strike drops before a manual forge strike is cast
also the character is not looking at that location
Hum... I was at x0. 25
ok i looked at it again
I see a Crimson Smite with Explosion on death
its mtx smite I think
Then a Forge Strike
I did see it wrong then 😄
That's the crit mace, right? I guess it depends on the 2h + shield downside (unless you weren't planning on using that)
Set items can't get LP right?
Mmm
Could be neat with rewarding craft, depending on what they add.
I think max forged weapons would be 15?
iirc
I'm assuming none of the forged weapons would gain the scaling dmg from the set.
it looks like you'll be able to transplant the set effects onto regular items but it's not clear what is going to be done with the unique set bases, if anything
I expect a green affix to capture the most unique part of the set pieces themselves. That then has tiers like any other affix. That gets crafted the usual way we craft affixes.
I would expect the presence of a set affix to make that piece count towards to set. I would also expect only 1 set affix to be allowed per item.
And make that item un eligible for Lp crafting too
That, or make it so you can transfer the affix, it just won't count towards the set. Wait and see I think.
If you mean the 'per forged weapon' stuff, right since all your forged weapons have 0 forged weapons of their own
Did they ever fix seraph blade not proccing volcanus?
Didnt know it was a thing
need a node that makes one big forged weapon that then produces more forged weapons
I guess maybe it isn't? Just saw a few posts from around a year ago saying that was the case. I'll have to test it when I get home
I want my MA to do it
Just have it do some sort of throwing animation, fire explosion and summon a weapon on impact
why is it lucerne what are these hax
Didn't even notice that, uhh, interesting
I wonder if it is locked to the specific base type of item, like if the set piece is a one handed weapon, could you put it on a two hand spear for instance.
If that is what they are doing.
they are putting on only rare items, so if you use forge strike/wrath or ignite build sunforged hammer will still be better
Imo you will need a 2h Mace to apply the Shard for the Sun Forged Hammer
that would be logical otherwise some sets would be opop like vilatria or shattered
just put all shards on rings/gloves
gg
or belt/gloves/boots
tho they might have not considered that and we will get an unbalanced mess like a year ago

Shattered of Strife 🔥
Btw Misha I meant to ask you
Are you sure the bugfix to Warrior Fury will make it not work on echoes ?
i mean thats what they wrote
or do u mean they will putout the bugfix that wont work
hahahaha
or do u think this implies that warriors fury will not apply to things like warslash?
They said on Direct Cast
I believe echoes are considered Direct Cast
well i always thought the same
but what are they even talking about then????
if not echoes
My guess is Warpath Shrine
ooh, has anyone tested that lmfao
so u saying with shrine and specced fury ull spin endlessly draining mana
Yup
@cobalt blade can testify
Also saw a clip from wander in Dread discord I believe
na i didnt kno
Yeah shattered lance was the one I was looking at specifically.
well its hard to say anything now cause there is 50/50 chance that ehg will make it more balnced/fair or say hehe haha lets put shards to all items and see what happens
Ehh, I think chances are pretty low that they let you cross item type lines or let you put set bonuses on uniques. But we'll see.
i mean nobody thought they would put 3 skills working multiplicatively with each other on a minion add infinite scaling and many other autorsities with falconer/warlock
😏
Sure, but low chance is still a chance
Shattered lance set will dominate everything
Shattered lance is already one of the sets you can make an absolute disgusting build off of for primalists
If they're letting you put the sets on other gear, oh my lord
You can get like 4000+ health regen on werebears, that'll be gross af
dont discount the vilatria set if you can just get +1 flat to all lightning spells per int without having to wear two terrible gear pieces
Yea i was pondering that one as well as the avalanche set
And a good chunk of vk's actually use the void sentinel amulet
So might as well use the full set now + amulet
Well, full set bonus + amulet
And then the forge guard set people typically only ever ran 2/3 so getting the 3rd as a bonus is wonderful
I wonder if set bonus weapons will be locked to same weapon type
If not, i'd totally run forge guard and shattered lance, since the helm has flat health regen per summoned weapon
And then dual wield it up
So actual forge guard set helm, not the bonus, but then everything else is the bonuses
And then as a dual wield speed hitter, tacking on hh and keeping minions up with that
Can't wait to do Shattered Lance x Last Bear
I am a little sad its bonuses only
I'd love to be able to copy last bear helm onto anything and be able to tank on any class by stun taunting
Last Bear + Vessel 👀
Yea 1.2's shaping up to be very nice
Now all we need is another gold exploit to ruin it on launch LOL
Dont care. CoF
I'm holding all hype on set builds until they release the dev blog on it. But if shattered lance even starts to look spicy I will probably do another one of those. Lol
No its actually good, cause the .5 seasons halfway through could have big content drops as well in their attempts to get players back in
If only they'd fix swarmblade
So if you burn out a month in but an exploit happens, boom new content drop again
Think ill be going cof aswell this time at launch
Like that skeleton event
No rank 1 pal MA?
Took whole of aprill off from work so enough time
Il be pushing
I just loved how all the builds were HH primary builds, and then there was wrouk, #1 with spell MA paladin
Im still waiting for every class to get a unique weapon type other classes cant use, or for everyone to be able to use bows
moment sentinels can use bows i want a skill node to turn MA into an archer
I mean if players can pressure the devs to give us mastery respeccing when they had a firm stance against it, as well as essentially titans grip/d3 crusader, anything is possible
Primalist is more likely to get bows than other classes... but the problem is they need animations
And also stuff they can actually do with the bows lol
Just add bow tag to skills
Pull a reverse detonating strike
Or whatever it was called
A bow that benefits from melee, go full circle
this or the hypothetical bow primalist will be positioned just like spellblade - completely isolated from the rest of the class that has no synergy with bow builds
Lol tornado dragon song werebear

Seems ight, but I'd take the points out of osprixbane and put them into liquid iron. The points into infinite bulwark will give you a little bit more armour when you need it and don't have ambition stacks
I don't see Warpath on your character
Also why Shield Rush?
HH traversal with cd reduced on minions heals + Shield = HH almost always up
Lul, didn't read WP part, thanks!
I actually had issues with that working last time I tried it, but that was like a year ago, so I think I should try it again
My theory was that shields weren't healed, cuz they were always full hp, but not 100% sure
Yeah, if something/someone isn't damaged, you can't heal them
Hmm, can you make shields lose life over time in some way?
Technically yes (wraith staff), but idk of a good way currently.
What about Bulwark of the Last Abyss? IIRC shields benefit from stats on our shield
They do - it's unlikely that one works, but worth a try
apparently they did add some info of it when holding alt on the skill in game now, they also added a cooldown 🥲 (or fixed the cooldown not working?) in 1.1.
so am i and i have atleast 2.5k hours with the skill 🤣
never was in the patch notes as far as i am aware
Skill alt text isn't in LE Tools or TunkLab because it's apparently not simple to pull it automatically, which makes it harder
What's Blast Forge?
I think it's a node in MA
that kinda sucks, one of my favorite versions of the skill was abusing the no CD on this
yeah
ohh no! it got the bear treatment.
Anything special to do for shield bash build other than stack block eff to the moon?
just made a sentinel for the first time last week, i think nova hammers might be my favorite build ive played so far
run extremely high cdr with 3 others also doing the same and proceed to stunlock every boss in the game
you used to be able to do that with 2 people
j
k?
can someone share me a lastest update for Throwing axe build ?
currently im lv 30 , the most dps i can created is 1600+ with sentinal + forceguard
with prefix & affix i should aim for , beside throwing dmg + crit melee dmg
Iirc, that change was made to address the Shrine/Mana issue after a Forum thread was raised specifically to ask about instances in game where this happened as not all of them were intentional 🙂
Throwing Axe from Smelter Wrath??
Don't do that to yourself
Yup, but that would be a shame that echoes suffer from that bug fix
I'm checking on that
Abyssal Echoes to be clear? Remember, played Sentinel for the first time yesterday 😅
VK has chance for skills to echo. Warpath has a node that enables it for warpath. A warpath echo is a void copy of a sentinal that cast warpath for 2seconds.
Right, I knew it was utilising the Warriors Fury node in Warpath, I just wanted to make sure I was getting the Echo interaction correct when asking the team as there are 'Abyssal Tempest' and 'Echo Knight' nodes in Warpath, and the Abyssal Echoes skill in the Void Knight Mastery too
I didn't check the Passives though
It's one of the mastery passives
Low key, this is one of the builds I am considering starting as for S2
any1 know if the divine bolts, healing hands paladin build is still viable or will be, havent played it since the rebalance to Ward, whnever that was
yes, it is still viable in 1.1.
It will very likely get buffed in 1.2, thanks to one of the spoilers from livestreams (ignore the first line of text, that's the old text)
ya the issue is that already like 3 people played Fury node alltogether, since the mana sustain is hell with it and forces you to use rive or volatile reversal and also invest on gear etc. But from what mike implied it seems bugfix will disable fury for echoes too, which would be a huge downside of the skill variation that wasnt that good in the first place and people didnt play it. Previously with Fury node the echoes that u spawn were also growin in size for 2 sec before dissapearing(overall it was 100% more dmg for echoes, so quite significant)
I don't even know if I'll be playing the first day of the patch... Because I'm going to be reading on our updates... But man am I really hopeful that we'll get a generic damage buff for everything, and VR gets thrown into the trash can so we stop relying on it.
patchnotes usually available 2+ days before patch date
so plenty of time to theorycraft
😏
Yeah but that requires me to have a room temp IQ and remember to read them when they're posted instead of day of launch. lol
they've pretty much indicated that that is going to happen
don't know exactly how the compensation is coming but yeah
Tears and blood
I'm so excited for not having to make multiple Sentinels to try out different builds... Just level one and gather all the different gear sets/types that I want to swap between builds. lol
I'm still going to refuse to respec my mastery but I understand that I'm the weirdo here
ill probably play only 1 build in s2 but we will se
Thats make 2'of us
yeah that's a point
dunno how many I'll want to play either
hopefully there's lot of sentinel stuff to experiment with though
I'm so excited for this rework but that also is setting me up for disappointment
I normally play at least three characters before I get bored and wander away for a few months. Paladin, Mage, and then Rogue. And that's only because I don't want to level up the base classes again to try out builds that interest me, but are other Masteries. lol
I just had an idea, and got disappointed right after
I was thinking how nice Spine of Malatros + Shield could be for Judgement. But the 2h + Shield node is FG exclusive
That has always annoyed me. I feel like 2H/Shield should be base Sentinel because it plays into our power aesthetic, ya know?
on the other hand, more reasons to use forge guard are nice
though I hope this rework will include making the forge guard tree not miserable, which will help a lot
Still a weird decision, you g out uniques like the new spear one designed almost exclusively for forge guard only
if they killl VR mana refund then judgment is as good as dead
no amount of buffs will save it L
Did i see discussion bout warrior's fury, the less satisfying echo fury and mana problem? 👀
I mean technically they could buff it to get all the same damage without consuming the mana and it would be exactly where it is now, but better
ye that got bugfixed and also disabled for wp echoes so fury is huge L now
Big OOF, guess my one and only one VK is scuffed. He is already vitless and now this 🪦. At this rate, he is turning to rust
we will see maybe their bugfix didnt work, which wouldnt be the 1st case for EHG, but yee sucks
this was mikes answer
i like how he also said generally to avoid direct confirmation
😡
Gotta pull out the code :V
also lmfao u are literally 3rd person besides me and dread who even tried to play warriors fury
despairgeee
Sadgeeee
#🔱┃sentinel message does this have anything to do to confirm echoes are direct/indirect cast again?
Can't give wrong answers if you always qualify them
No, but to decode Mike's answer, I think it's basically:
Echoes are not direct casts
But maybe the node still works for them
warpath is old noodle code so there is no point comparing it to any other skill in the game, it will not work the same
Search for wander on YouTube, he has like a sub 40s abbaroth kill + build guide on it
4th pog
I'll use it to change my second Sorcerer into RM, but I also understand not using it. Having 1 character for each mastery just seems the natural way things should be 😄
inb4 "generic damage buff" is like 5% more on all skills
I mean it's a balance between the annoyance of leveling a new char vs the annoyance of constantly respecing
although the blessings collection made it a lot less annoying
melee classes rejoice
aint bad but its an uber abe drop, it should measure up to that
but finaly smth worth replacing ravenous void with
on melee ya
That dev chat got me so pumped lol. So much good stuff coming
we need an updated database asap
Not super unique, but big number buffs is nice. Good alternative to flacon fists. Tho I imagine getting lp will be nigh impossible
They intentionally make the ultra-unobtainable kind of items more generic, generally defense-oriented, and not build-enabling
Ye it would suck to lock a build behind a mega rare drop. Though you can still make a universally applicable unique more unique. Idm either way tho ^^
which database is that?
the lastepochtools one, i know its not gonna happen until patchnotes are out earliest but one can dream
all those new affixes and stuff
o:
YOUR THE LAST EPOCH TOOLS PERSON
YOU ARE A SAINT
tbf, this one is pretty unique for LE, nothing in game converts a portion of hit damage taken to DOT
but you still help with the site right?
Well, not directly into a dot. It's just delayed. Still, I'm fine with it. There'll be loads of new toys to play with 💙
I also wonder if they just showed it on a max roll eternal gaunlet implicit or if eternal guantlets got their range buffed
Yeah you're probably right technically, we can call it "damage over a duration"
that dot mitigation makes me feel all kinda ways, just recently found the right items to slap some on and it makes such a huge difference
ye
Yeah DOTs hurt when you're used to taking like half damage or less due to armor
on second thought, those gloves are pretty insane no? we get 30%dr on top of endurance? its probably multiplicative, but still
so you are not hard preassured into stacking insane amounts of health
they are insane
worthy drops from an uber boss
that thankfully aren't like a build enabling unique
Yeah, kinda unreliable though
isnt it the contrary , its only in effect when you actually need it
unless you get onshot nuked out of the orbit
Yeah, not active on 1-shots is mainly it
big fat dmg attack -> endurance thresholds save you -> extra not die activates
maybe some niche cases aside from that, like it won't activate on pure DOT damage
yeah, the gloves do very little to protect you from DOTs in general, just the armor applies to DOT implicit
slapping some experimental amor-> dot on those bad boys would go hard
and that endurance boost will help when active, of course
to be fair, how many gloves protect from dots (other than the eternal gauntlet implicit)
other than like generic max hp
RV
oh wait right
which is kinda the main competitor
the new gloves say "reduced" dmg, rv is less dmg with stacks
but if you work with alot of leech it might still be higher ehp
if the delayed damage counts as a DOT for the armor applies to dot stuff then they are super nice
to the ask the devs chat!
Yeah, the new gloves don't really technically have any effect on 1-shot ehp (outside the simple armor and health and whatever), but they give you the ability to turn excess recovery into hit DR by having it eat up the delayed hit damage, and the 30% endurance boost gives a good bit of burst EHP
in my head there is no scenario outside of uber aberoth or few thousand corruption where you dont turn immortal with those gloves and high leech
true, didnt notice 😄
awwwww, no double dipping in dr with those gloves
nice try though
I mean fair their still insane
ye
Probably a benefit tbf, if it split the incoming damage before mitigation we'd be hurting more lol
yea turning a "normal" hit into dot and getting nuked by it xD
If Mike is right, then the delayed damage isn't even affected by endurance nor the DR to endurance health
so we would get more damage on our health from the hit but as a trade off we have more time to mitigate it
if that dmg were to go into endurance threshold initially
Feels odd
why odd?
just the endurance bit being calculated into the hit rather than it going damage -> mitigation -> split -> endurance
but wouldnt be the endurance be in the first mitgitation part already
it would be double dipping at that point no
no, endurance is kinda separate since it only applies to parts of damage
yea but lets say your current health is below your endurance threshold and you get a hit which procs the gloves
that hit would be calculated with endurance in mind
I suspect they used to actually do that as an "optimization" and caused mana damage to get affected by endurance in those cases
maybe now they still have that one edge case where they can roll it all up into one DR number, but idk if they actually do that or not
hard to do with so many conditionals
and I just think most people would "expect" the delayed damage to be impacted by endurance
probably, it might be a non-issue if it turns out the gloves are op anyways
with high recovery / leech, it will be great
They'll be really strong defensively for all builds that have good recovery, I think. Probably a good chase item for those people who like to push corruption/arena.
its nice seeing something thats better for life builds rather than a ward build
technically, it could also make you more vulnerable to one-shots
if you keep getting slow hits for 99% hp but have high recovery
without the gloves, you survive
with them, the dot could kill you when the 2nd hit lands
?
wouldn't something that does 99% of your max hp in one hit with the gloves on just kill you if you didn't have the gloves on
If you're not back at full, I would say you don't have high recovery
i guess it depends how it interacts with endurance
how that 30% is calculated
was just pointing out that the dot could push you over the edge if you are yoyoing 100->1->100
Yup okay, it for sure calculates all the damage endurance would have prevented in the initial hit
and then 30% of the final damage is yoinked out, which actually means you are much better off
oh, ya, mike answered it
looks way better like this
doesnt prevent endurance from triggering
since that means the endurance health (which is 150% more health per health than health) will be the priority to get saved by teh 30% split
257% more when the extra endurance bonus on the gloves is active
I missed the part about idols. Did they say there were like weaver idols?
we'll have to see the new idol affixes first
all 3-4 spaces idols will have new class-specific 3rd and 4th affixes, weaver-like
and you'll be able to reroll these 3rd/4th if you dont like them
so it should shift some power away towards "big" idols
but we dont have more details on that yet
tbh I kinda like that
Awesome thanks!
That new Sword seems pretty interesting, the Falchion. Even ignoring the throwing attack part of it. +2 to Melee Attacks, with Vitality, flat Melee, and Attack Speed...
I can’t wait to slam shit harder with some new sentinel builds
sincerely praying that they dont remove the consume void essences to refund mana node
same - erasing striking things out of existence has been extremely fun
any sentineel build for begginer?
Plenty of them, what kind of a build do you want?
void k
Erasing Strike, Rive, or Hammer Throw (Void Dot or Void Smite). Maybe Warpath
does erasing streike build use void cleave? I find that skill so satisfying lol
most do just for a movement skill
no
When starting yes, but eventually you want to optimize VC out of rotation
👍
@alpine canopy Question for you, I know your characters strength affects your minions stats, for forged weapons, If your weapon has strength on it, would it double dip? Or are any attributes they have irrelevant?
Minions cannot have attributes (like strength), so they do not benefit from stuff like the increased armor that strength gives or any scaling. Also, might be important to note that forged weapons don't scale with strength at all, only attunement (it's not made clear on the forge strike tooltip).
Be careful the tooltip is a bit misleading
We had a big convo about it
Forged Weapons only benefit from attunement
Good to know! thanks guys!
not exactly good builder but still wonder how to make effective build based on this feature..
Probably will be similar to siege barrage but since its not fucused primary on AoE single point vs Bosses it could be worse..
If one would consider paladin then it could support lightning otherwise one would need use unique spear - for example "Tu'rani's
If one would wanna pure fire then probably Forge and probably "Sierpin's" (since forge supports throw and have dexerity bonus..)
But if one would wanna go route (4th picture) then use unique's to support +skills like that one for +4 javeling
(if it's even now possible craft one) then Fire is gone, bleed or physical too so Forge would be useless then you go again route of Paladin and
still probably use Sierpin's for clearing echos but boss fight or make it effective.. idk
But would be probably interesting recreate something which main website have as Ad
If you wait for 1.2 you will be able to use Siege Barrage and the Split
some new unique or changes for sentinel ? Also wouldn't that be too much OP ? Since i think current 3 types of Javelin basically cancel each other for that exact reason
(same its for many similar skills on all classes)
from the pinned images for the rework - anyone know what has been cut off here? "but you have less _ "?
We dont know yet
ok thank you 🙏
I would imagine it being attack speed
yeah was guessing atk or move speed
this node looks so insane
Thats a teaser for 1.2
They removed the line that said it doesnt split if you have Siege Barrage
It does 🔥
im very keen to play an erasing strike build for the upcoming cycle
i gave up playing melee in many arpgs
played 2 ranged builds in LE so far for 1.0 and 1.1
We dont know any balance change for 1.2 but its really good rn
cant wait for patch notes !!
I will also start the new season with voidknight. I wanna try to build a void mage again, but erasing strike with reversal being like a teleport looks good too.
Hype is real for sure
I like that you erased its body xD
I'm hoping Lunge's Pilum Assault stays intact in 1.2, I'd love to play Javelin Forge Master and that node is be perfect for me
yeah aberroth is kinda weird with kill thresholds
yo everyone, im kinda newbie. last cycle i played multistrike - smite (not following any build guide), but, as you can imagine, it was quite clanky on singletarget. Also couldnt figure out the main dmg scaling (tried strength stacking with palarus's, crit stacking, filling legendary potential with flat "spell damage" from 1H swords, mix-n-matching different weapons, etc.)
Obviously there's someth i'm missing, so if you played something similar - pls @ me, thanks
wait for season 2 and play the same thing but with actual single target now
I ran multistrike smite as an electrify build and it worked fairly decently. Dual wielded palarus with aurelis, MS procs smite and melee HH, used jav as a buff (you can make it a smite banner that gives you a big chunk of melee electrify chance while on cooldown), and of course VR to almost triple DPS on bosses.
In Season 2, multistrike might be meta with the change to bladestorm (it'll let your swords all hit your main target).
also imo f/*ck paladin and go VK only with anomaly double dmg debuf and big vit stacking
Im so sorry, what's a "melee HH" and what's a "VR" ?
tru
well aside from Season 2, how would one scale damage on triggered smite builds? what's the* cheapest / most sane way
Melee HH = healing hands with the melee conversion (HH has some electrify nodes that make it nice, and it's a free extra proc on every multistrike swing)
VR = volatile reversal, you spec into both of the "damage taken" debuffs and its cooldown reduction, if both the initial and final position void rifts hit the same target, those debuffs stack (total of 2.8x damage multiplier for DOT)
It depends on what you're using to proc smite, I like electrify for multistrike because it synergizes with aurelis. Bleed and crit are also good, just maybe not for multistrike (you'd be more likely to get bleed working than crit I'd guess for multistrike).
Overall, I think bleed scaling on hammer throw smites is the easiest to get going currently
multistrike - smite has a split in terms of multistrike doing melee dmg and smite doing spell dmg, so you focused on spell dmg, but your multistrike on bosses primarily did melee dmg and was weak. Both Palarus and Aurelis give you chance to proc smite from melee attacks, which would help your build on bosses even if you don't go the electrify route.
the best way to scale smite dmg is from stacking maximum mana and using the Devotion amulet, then it would be dual wielding with two weapons that have +spell dmg on them, then spell crit and crit multiplier
until you find an off-hand sword with spelldmg, using a staff is probably the easiest way to get good numbers
currently lvl 87 I didnt build right this time but almost done all the monoliths
btw @turbid dome (and other VK enjoyers), in case you missed it, time rot is being "reworked" in S2. Judd said "it's much more powerful and much more well supported throughout all the trees" in the Friday podcast.

holy
and we can do the set crafting stuff
forgotten knight set op
Ooh yes, the time rot set!
Not gonna lie, if time rot looks viable in S2 it'll be very tempting
Can't wait to be havoc crafting T7 set affixes
ye
Havoc Crafting?
Using the new rune that shuffles affix tiers (since it will be the only way to get exalted set affixes)
yea time rot being viable as a primary effect in your build would be nice, also paired with their announced set changes
Oh yeah! Not used to the name of the new runes yet
I hope it keeps its cap at 12 thing but you get some way to super scale its damage
So it’s not just most other dots but void
Right, like maybe give it +1 void damage per vit
the ailments do need some more flavor to them, in general
or maybe, if I dare to think, +2 void dmg per vit
Maybe more since it doesn't have Dmg Effectiveness
how does warpath work with worldsplitter? in terms of like channel cost vs mana cost
with regard to this
Channel Cost =/= Mana Cost so no interaction here
unlucky
Felt the same about the mana consuming node on judgement as it doesn't change the tooltip it doesn't work with stuff like the damage from mana cost node in the forge guard tree..
kinda curious about this guy
Might be cool with warpath/forged weapons if you can get enough crit chance for the forged weaps
hopefully the "spiders" mechanic is cool.
Correct
Mana cost =\= channel cost =\=mana consumed
A lil weird that a minion weapon is a mace and not an axe with one of the minion implicits
Yeah for sure, would have been cool if it was like a Soul Harvester or something.
Would go well with the flat necrotic dmg from phantom grips
Curious whether spiders is an ailment or an actual minion too
Tbh that flat necrotic is flavor
I hope it’s a minion
For the swarm!
But the loooorrreeee
Seems like it could be both
Like maybe when enemies die, a bunch of spiders pop out. Or a DOT that scales with minion damage would be interesting.
Dang broodmother in LE would be wack
And it's the second unique minion mace, quite odd for an item class that gets no love 😂
There’s another unique minion mace?
Or do you mean the sun forged set mace
I meant the armor shred one
Didn't actually think about 2h maces existing
Arek's Bones I think
Yeah, kinda funny sceptres and maces are so similar
I do like what poe2 did with them
You feel that weird similarity in poe1 a lot
Asked Ghazzy to put it in his questions for his interview in a couple days, it's on the list.
Ooh nice, hope we get some spicy spider info then! (We need a Weaver emote in this Discord)
What % of players do you estimate will start sentinel this season? 🙂
depends how interesting it looks after the rework?
5%
well depends on sorc and falconer changes
maybe more
not putting any stock in the rework? 😆
sentinel will be swept forward on a tide of spin2win casuals 👍
idk abt that hahah
all spin to win andies alreay playing it and judging from 1.1 and 1.0 its around 1% or 0.5%
there is also a new spin2win coming up for mage, so that will split the crowd
more realistically with how the past few masteries have gone sentinel will end up with something giga op
35%
5% of falconer mains maybe, but for the average player falconer balance is hardly relevant
ya, when you see 1% reach 300 corruption, dont think the meta is really defining what's being played
maybe more the builds their favorite content creators is making a video on, and thus here likely a lot of sentinel ones, with a few markman ones
I'm going to have a new year resolution for season 2, I will play blade dancer shuriken + dancing strikes as main skills, let's go off meta!
April 2nd can't come fast enough.
Hi guys, quick question, since I've been away from the game for over a year. Im planning on playing sentinel because of the class rework, is VK warpath still the fastest leveling / early/mid monolith build when gear is scarce? Just trying to figure out what starter I should be practicing before I respec to my main build in the endgame
warpath is zdps untill lvl 50 or so
dont think it was ever fastest leveling build
u start with rive(manifest weapons)+holy trail into holy trail+ rive with healing hands or hammers
I don't know about that, the juicy 50 flat void disagrees.
50 flat on what
U dont get that early on
And you also need ignite chance for timrot stacks, like past 35 lvl or so its ok
But even then wouldnt call it the best
hammers feel good to lvl with
Hammer Throw do be really good to lvl with
now that I think about it, there's actually some synergy to void warpath, since you can get ignite chance while holy trail is on cooldown 🤔
Bleed is bonk
thats an awful way to lvl, you need skill lvl8 for that+ (-cost nodes) and wont have any multipliers
like wp is not bad, but no way its fastest
Level with Vengeance like the devs intended
were there any teasers regarding how sentinel will feel like after next patch?
i only caught the dev chat and to summarize, the purpose seems to have been "build diversity"
and I think smoothening the power curve
if I understood that correctly
Nothing about feel as far as I know, but that's pretty subjective so they probably avoid saying that
they've teased quite a few cool and spicy looking changes though
May I have some links
Pinned comments
ah
That's all the nodes we have been teased
They did make it look like vengeance is gods intended skill
Bladestorm on multistrike is quite neat
yeah the swords felt kinda useless before
actual divine bolt scaling
void stuff seems a bit meme but hey finally getting some defenses
i think itll boil down to devouring orb autobomber attempts
so many devouring orb autobombers
neat, so far. ill likely roll around the update, was nice to see you guys again
with the set crafting, it's a shame that sentinel can never make use of vilatria's storm crown. will the class requirements also carry over for set crafting?
Yes
you might get to have fun with that some set only have some of the items locked to a class like the Corsair set where only the helm is rouge only i can see bugs happening with that
make it make sense guys...
no flame to the creator but goddd this is why i dont like random guides
i have no idea what ur talking about
anyone know if there will be an improvement to the forgeguard class other than being able to wield 2h + shield? because honestly we just KNOW that will come with a downside, like 50% increased dmg taken or something. they have never liked sentinel so i doubt things are going to change...
That’s a fairly standard worldsplitter es spam setup?
