#š±āsentinel
1 messages Ā· Page 20 of 1
My first drop was a lp4 palarus .. about to make a alt and use it
passive tree?
Skill tree or passive tree, because if they do that blood smite node would be insanity. I could totally see a smite judgement thing
They do
Whatās a lp4 palarus worth . Just curious about the weapon I found
Worth a lot, its a popular though common item for smite builds
4lp on a common item is still rare though, so check MG š
It's why smite warpath is a thing
Using mine with rive .. Warpath makes me dizzy
Smite HH divine bolt pally is also really good
Iām doing rive divine bolt
smite for single target, but with palarus you got some good aoe too with smite double casts proccing on other nearby monsters. Then use HH spell casts for AOE
HH melee double casting itself with palarus also works too, and triggers divine bolt on every melee swing
How do I scale the spell dmg on palarus .. sorry noob question .. I want to go fire
Almost
Stack strength for flat spell conversion; 2str = +1 spell flat
It's literally on the sword, stack str for spell dmg, stack att for melee
Yeah but how do I scale spell with fire ..
Smite is fire by default
it gives you flat dmg, which is converted by your skill
So just add fire to items also ?
generic spell becomes the damage type of the spell it affects
Yea, you use passives, affixes to scale fire dmg or spell dmg
And dot and bleed donāt work with spell right ?
bleed on hit lets you bleed with a spell
If the spell is a hit, it can cause a DoT
Also ignite doesnāt work with spell ?
anything that has a hit portion, can inflict status on hit
Ok .. but ignite is an ailment so wonāt work with spell ?
Ignite is an ailment just like bleed...
Didnāt think ailments can work with spells
Surprise š
There is an in game guide by pressing G, has a lot of stuff inthere, LE does a TON of things differently
my fav is 150% chance to inflict stuff is gauranteed 1 and 50% for a 2nd
ok thanks for the info
can rive VK beat abberoth?
Back to leveling up .. alt now 65 .. flying to 3rd mono with This palarus
It's Rive, I dont think there is anything it cant kill
i tried other classes i promise but sentinel is just the best one
I wouldnt go that far in terms of hard facts, but sent is a lot better this cycle for sure all around.
Shield rush is my favorite sentinel skill. Idk why it's just so satisfying
what's the best build for a paladin? i'm using judgement aura right now
Theres several paladin builds that are doing well this cycle:
- Bleed Hammerdin smite
- HH melee flame burst, smite, divine bolt, ward stacking
- HH spell, divine bolt, smite caster
- Warpath smiter, flame burst
nyoooom
This season is fun
Shield rush for map movement is so satisfying, too bad that shield rush spamming is still so wonky
ty
I usually go Thailand every month for 30 days but now playing new season makes me delay my trip
Is forge strike a good skill ?
Never played FG before .. usually play paladin
FG is pretty good yea
Now this is a sentinel item
Is forge strike any good ?
Thats pretty hot
Nice but does that stat only work for healing hands or can work for any type of healing
Ok
good for holy trail as well
It's not useless what?
Forge is pretty poggers
That reminds me I need to run the numbers on a max bleed FS
my main issue with it, is that why do that when I have Rive? XD

I want every skill to be brought up to that level
rive is great because so much of its power comes from its tree
double echo chance is huge
foe reaver is huge
nerfed flame drinker is still huge
Laceration is a unique type of ailment
attack speed + crit chance + enemy pulling
Exaclty, it's mechanically good, I want more things like that. Another good example is Frostwall. You can convert it, has interactions with other skills, is good enough to be a stand alone skill. Give me more things like that.
Spawn into an echo surrounded by candles...sus
I know vengeance is good (especially against bosses) but it feels so boring to use
I genuinely think that using Vengeance with the bonk hammer and focusing on the retaliation skills would be pretty good, because only vengeance would lose the AS and it's not even that bad honestly
scribbles notes into meme book so many ideas
yeah, my main complaint about vengance is how much of the tree is dedicated to iron blades
a full half of it lol
You don't like zdps blades?
like why
node wise, I feel like Erasing strike has a good amount of nodes for its beam sub part
Yeah, I'd like to see half of that lower part devoted to improving the reposte part instead, good mix
the one thing I do like about vengance is that it make sustaining void essences easy
truth
and bolster
bolster?
if only it wasn't 2 seconds
oh that yeah
I mean, you're gonna be sitting still and swinging also, I cant get as much as I thought I would
ok, so baring perfect rolls, this is as high as I can get I think, maybe be a pally

no cant be pally because then I lose FS
go go gadget 25 base smite crit chance
smite is in such a good spot with that time and faith node
Is there anything that affects the glyph of envy or is it random?
time and faith only for direct casts sadge
if its the randomize item get time stability glyph it does just randomly modify it. It shouldn't be able to change item class tho (helmet stays helmet)
I do not like the glyph to boost monos
I mean if there is a way to influence how much stability.
I use them for regular monos and I instantly get enough stability on an alt to do the boss
They need to just slow mono progression at at base, and then make empowered 'corrupted' monos and have them be shared
speeds up the alt experience, love it
I think thats the only part you can kinda control
Also lets me use them to farm bosses faster on my main
It's nice, I just dont like the method
I wish it wasn't in the crafting system, I do hope they change it later. But I'm happy its there cause i can use it
it feels nice walking into a timeline, popping a bunch then fighting the boss and then fighting shade for an instant like +140 corruption
Pretty much my thought, and they aren't exactly common either
On my alt - idols only open from quests ? Currently doing monos and noticed no idol slots open
I do hate having to do corruption farming for each mono individually, even if there's a bonus for monoliths that you haven't done yet
yeah, the map screen should so how many more skill points and idol slots you need to get from the campaign
Yes, you have to do idols and passive point quests
I just make sure I have twink gear and blast through the monos honestly
Ok thanks for the replies
The map screen does do that though?
yeah
It's just time consuming in an already time consuming game, and the fact that the new items have high lvl requirements makes it so I can't really test classes without sinking so many more hours into the "beginning" part
I reread it the moment I sent it fml, I WILL learn to read one day

ok, this is literally how far I can push this without doing really silly things in the builder
So FS inflicts 10 stacks of super bleed
what exactly does duration do for bleeds? just 96dmg/s for 2.5 vs however long now?
3rd paragraph
so essentially it's a dmg multi equal to the duration increase
more damage per bleed, but you still need to wait longer
granted if you need to upkeep x number of bleeds on it for an effect duration super helps there
I dont think 10 bleeds with like...almost 300% pen are gonna have issues with duration
I mean think about when you need to run away from a boss for 8 seconds
coward talk
I'm sitting at 65% arm before the FS 100% increased armor
https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/A1MvD3bA like look at this jank, I'm literally just doing dmg and I have almost 5k ehp
Harbingers of Ruin / 1.1.2
Sentinel (26) / Forge Guard (67) / Paladin (20)
āø Health: 1,460, Regen: 75.4/s
āø Mana: 120.01, Regen: 9.2/s

⢠Salt the Wound
And you got so many slots for beef
yeah
and the relic gives me 2% leech for uh..what I am assuming is gonna be a LOT of bleed dmg
ez extra 100% dot dmg
This would be the kinda build you just slot endurance in everything
If your slotting in endurance, put wall of nothing into your chest armor
Make your endurance more value
actually, what about that chest armor that gives you up to 20% less dmg taken
Though a good titan heart wouldnt be bad to start
On one hand maybe, on the other I think getting a lot of extra ward will protect you more from one shots
depends on how much ward you can get out of it
Up to 85% of endurance threshold as ward decay + up to 185 ward decay threshold
Now I Just need to find a good LP item to slam it with...
nicee
I wish we had more stat things from monos instead of the items and shard bonuses and such
Finally found a t7 HH helm š
area is ass tho and no full void conversion, but nobody is perfect
area is at least useful
imo half of the reason why melee feels so bad in LE is because most of the melee skills have insanely small area of effect by default
No, 100% of the reason is because of all the ground spam crud that is thrown at us. It needs to be toned down in either damage or frequency.
ye but you have an easier time dodging it if you dont worry about also staying within 2 feet of the boss
found a random 2 LP bonk maw and decided to quickly throw it in
Not enough to really matter, while I do agree that melee could use a bit better base area for things, the big problem is how big and often ground effects are AND how much damage they deal glares in light and embermages
ye DoTs need a passthrough fo sho
i dont mind the number of puddles honestly as an mmo guy but the DoT damage ramp is ridicolous
They just need to spread out the damage via stacking debuffs so you have more than .6s to move
Exactly, it's too much too fast, and good grief the amount of exploding on death enemies
i mean that's every ARPG š
GD is pretty good about it, they are there but they no longer Thanos you like they do here.
havent played GD but both D4 and PoE are guilty as charged
Man I am getting so unbelievably unlucky, I have farmed at least 60 exalted staffs so far and still no Elemental damage over time one:/
GD is so good if I wasnt broke I would buy it for you
It's the best arpg on the market overall for me
bruh 3.25 starts next week, aint nobody got time for another ARPG š
I am fully aware of this, I got this cycle and all the new toys, new poe next week, and GD is getting a new expansion soon
ye my GD is WoW I guess, new retail exp also comes out. this summer is kinda loaded lol
I know it's this year, hopefully later in the year
However I am gonna also say that LE has been doing VERY well with expanding things. Some things I don't like, but overall it's still a solid 7/10 for me right now.
ye i like LE with all its faults but gahd they need to sort out the market
Market isn't too bad, need to be able to set the values for uniques for affixes but other than that it's more than functional. I wish they would market more, almost no one has heard of them outside of the arpg space. GD is the worst though, they're just like yeah...we exist.
well the interface is worst i have ever seen in any game, but supposedly that's being sorted
then the integrity of the market is a big problem. sure, when it works it's okay.... it's just...
Morning, i have been trying to find out how much CDR i can get on my manifested armor - is it only the boot slot or am i missing something? I am trying to get whirlwind cooldown way down
WW is bugged currently dont bother
oh ok, what exactly is bugged atm, the cooldown itself?
WW only hits once despite the constant spinning
ah thats sad, thanks for telling me
yeah I was hype for it when I read the patch notes
ive first tried ignite based but whirlwind sounded cool enough to try - maybe it'll get fixed soon enough š
It's been bugged for at least a year now in some form or another sadly xD
i need to thank whoever in here reminded me that t7 mana is in demand
That would be absolutely disgusting on Rive VK.
It will rot in my stash tho since I'm doing mana stacker erasing strike
well this didnt do too bad
I could use those while leveling up my manifest armor
is bleed forge minions viable? or is there a viable fire minion build?
yes to both
There's a viable Manifest Armor build. Forged Weapons are pretty meh still but a lot better than last cycle.
Addition of those rings specifically for them was a big help.
Thereās a player whoās done over 1000 waves already this cycle with manifest armor
they also used snapshotting
Will he be banned
No, but it is an important thing to note when talking about it though. He had to abused a game mechanic they've been trying to get rid of for awhile now, it's still impressive.
They might look into it if many copy the build and do the same
thanks. will look into it
@turbid dome quick and easy ultra endgame bonk knight filter done, time to go for maximum bonk
Gl
thanks! the uniques i mostly got with 3 LP (except world splitter on a 2 lp) but i ran out off exalteds, so time to bonk some stuff to bonk stuff harder later
No, Snapshotting is a common thing for summon builds in basically every ARPG.
Diablo 4 removed snapshotting but that's the exception, for the most part.
Wonder if it's worth starting the vc/es vk
Over physical avalanche shaman after my spark plug sb hits 100
The bell bro and drain are lvl locked now I guess. My lvl 50 sb don't see no chests at bell bro @polar spire
Apparently, I'm so afraid of dots in this game that I made my dot mitigation higher than my hit mitigation
If i seal Fire pen, what stat should i roll for a Bleed hammer throw pally?
is there a way to increase the staves in a monolith that arent legendary or set? I have run enough prophecies to get at least 100 2 handed staffs and I still havent gotten one with elemental damage over time:/
cheesus mother melting crust wtf is that, dafrick is that
I dont know why it says 2h staff, that's the only kind there are in this game, petition to get one handed staffs as a new weapon type
That's just wands with extra steps
does that effect the monlith rewards for exalted as well?
Monolith rewards are static and unaffected by drop rate increases, but they are affected by things like CoF additoinal drop or chance for affixes to be higher tier.
It would affect the chest, though.
they already have one in the game too, the elder that uses the epoch at the start has one. But I think there is more than enough space for a different 1h type of spellcaster thing, maybe make them more focused on things other than dmg, status effects and what not
hmm t6 ignite on spear worth putting on a pally stick?
Isn't the 1h non-wand caster thing the Scepter?
Yeah, those exist as well lol
Hey all, pretty new to the game and wondering if there's a good site/video to get a good understanding of crafting etc... Playing a Rive build atm
Is divine bolt damage really inconsistent? Iāve had it hit for over 10k and then it will hit consistently in the low hundreds. Not sure what the issue is.
My lvl 74 alt beat a harbinger .. good start
Why can my alt do mono 100 ? Did they change something .. donāt have to beat all 3 90ā¢s now ?
Getting to 100 with an alt will way quicker than the first time around now .. already doing empowered mono and getting good xp at lvl 75
Anyone else followed the Rive VK build on maxroll but thinks some decisions are questionable? The quicksilver ring is one of them
No but Iāll have a look later as Iām making a rive vk now
Have a link to check out later ?
Yah, Maxroll has some weird choices, lol.
I modified their Nova Hammers FG build because it was quite wrong in a lot of gear choices.
Same thing, too. They had a Quicksilver ring on, even though it does literally nothing fir throwing.
It just seemed really odd to me, it gives you a bit of haste and attack speed. The stupid crab ring at a high enough level gives you more movement speed, and attributes
I'm guessing they're using it for Haste procs but it's a waste even even.
Just off the top of my head, that one is better for speed farming. Siphon of Anguish is better for damage. Any damn exalted ring is better if you don't care about the movement speed
I'll probably ditch the second ring they recommended too, Oceareon
Yup. I also noticed they didn't use Sun Seal, either, and didn't use any +ThrowDmg/-ThrowManaCost on their rings, either.
Their hammers were costing 9 per throw, but with the same build and my modifications, I have it at 0 mana Hammers, and sigils always cast themselves
Which one of their cons was "heavy mana management" lol
Ocearon is actually really good for super end game when you have a 2 or 3 LP one. It's just a ton more raw damage.
Quicksilver makes no sense, though way better rings for both builds.
Because of the shock?
Yeah, the damage it adds from shock charges is more damage, which is as far as I understand, basically the best kind.
It just takes your damage after everything else, then adds more on top of that.
nemesis was not with me this time š¦
is there an ideal leveling unique weapon for hammer throw?
Many use exhalted dragon axe
yeah but was wondering like leveling as going through the campaign and early monos
i really dont want to press rive honestly
whatever you find with the stats that scale the node. keep looking at the node whenever you add a few points to see if the scaling tags have changed
Taste of Blood if you want a unique
no wonder that it felt like COF didnt drop things from bosses
do hammers just... not work in heorot arena?
Oh arena havenāt tested
Early on like till end of campaign? Firestarter
what stat would scale the dps of judgement with the annointed node best? DOT, fire/spell/elemental damage? not after the initial hit damage just the aura
flat spell and any damage over time affix probably your best bet, also fire pen
im assuming this would also scale the aura?
yes
but melee attack speed to speed up the hit animation yeah?
its not smth i would invest in if you want to go all in for the dmg over time aura, but yes, it increases the initial hit speed
wasnt gonna heavily invest but just checking as ill have buffs which boost attack speed so just wanted to make sure
does pious affect the aura or just intial hit?
both
would the soul bastion belt/relic's self ignite mechanic be the best in slot im going to also be manually casting healing hands primarily for healing rather than a damage source but it could be what applies the ignite to convert to spell damage?
or herkirs relic and spam potions? althought you mentioned DOT instead of fire damage which made me think of the self ignite strat
sounds like smth interesing to try out ^^
which one lol
i also meant paired with the relic too. soulfire which herkirs is also a relic so can only try one or the other
soulfire gives armour when im self ignited from belt and gives spell damage
herkir gives fire damage but get fire aura on potion use so would need to use the belt that gives a lot of potions
thats why i asked it as a question to see what would be best paired with judgement aura if you knew
well if you are looking at numbers the ignite belt will give you more
subjectively, i wouldnt recommedn dungeon farming to anyone ever, so if you wanna suffer through that in its current state go for it
Is the Smite heal AoE/Cleanse worth taking at all if you won't fully max them out?
pretty sure you can get the relic outside of dungeon no? im just assuming but im like 40% sure that theres a 50% chance i got it to drop last patch randomly somehow hahaha
depends if you use it as a side effect or your main dps
talking about the belt
all i need to do is focus defence then get someone to carry me using my keys was my plan hahaha T3 iirc the requirements to survive shouldnt be that bad
at level 86 with div bolts but its noticeably nerfed and im actually struggling to progress (strict loot filter i refuse to losen up hahah) so was gonna test the new judgement changes like i was gonna once i saw the limit of div bolts anyway
Side effect; using the new 1h sword in a melee build, so in theory Smite is just for the attack speed and melee dmg. Which got me thinking maybe I should pick up the lightning bolts to spread blind/aggro/(maybe slows when I figure out my build)
if you are melee at all times on top of your target then sure, extra cleanse never hurt anyone if you can spare the points, would youw ant to rely on that in a high preassure situation? probably not
is julra void pools debuff that stacks cleansable?
That's totally fair. And I only have 3 points in it anyway...I'll see if the bolts are more effective at ranged defense then. Thank you for your insight.
i know that the aberoth perma debuf cant be cleansed, ~~probably the same with julra ~~but someone else would have to confirm
Yep, I'm pretty sure you can.
thought as much. im assuming the debuffs with the red border is uncleansable?
this would only affect judgement initial hit not the aura even if it was procced by melee??
correct
sunwreath had so much promise haha
bo anarchy
sry i shouldn't have said arena, just his normal mono location
its not only where harbinger spawns either, it is the entire place
What paladin build is the best at bosses? Currently playing Smite/Warpath, and the dps is great but being in melee range permanently is no bueno for aberroth
could always try hammerdin with smite idols off of throwing hit
Ooo I have all those idols for my current build. Iāll look into that ty
Is pally HH sentials only ward gen in the kit natively?
There are other skills that have ward effects but nothing as impressive as HH's
What other skills? Iām really wanting to try and do a shield throw and so far the options Iāve considered are the Oblation belt and mortality combo and various ward gained on block
Forge strike, Holy aura both have "ward gain" nodes
Was hoping for an on hit solution but forgestrike seems good
Forge strike can proc HH too
if using forge strike you would need the minion tele ability
through a unique or?
oh i see clerics hammer
Is it possible to use forge styrike as your primary ability? it is 25 mana. I know there are a few ways to reduce via weps ect but I am just curious if it is viable
ty
Why would you when you can completely ignore it by using 2 other skills but still benefit from the strong minions it creates?
that ring upgrade is MASSIVE
i am new to forge strike so education would be helpful (i am wanting them to generate ward for me)
Is divine bolt damage really inconsistent? Iāve had it hit for over 10k and then it will hit consistently in the low hundreds. Not sure what the issue is.
It pales in comparison to basically any other type of ward generation I would say
Even with no cooldown, the flat rate of ward per weapon summoned isn't a lot and the damage you lose by having static minions for some ward per second isn't worth
wait, if I have leech rate on my gloves, does that mean my minions actually can leech now?
these gloves might be godly
Leech rate is not leech
You could probably do a weird proc on hit multi-strike build that procs forge strike at max armaments and also procs HH. Some folks also use Rive to generate mana while spamming forge strike inbetween, forge strike has some passive nodes that spawn forged weapons too
oh. sad
Javelin has a node that massively reduces the mana cost of the next melee (-25?). You could take the 0 CD Forge Strike node and alternate javelin and forge. Can even make Forge ranged to make it a ranged build
The forge weapons are spawned by the skill itself, you can increase it with the passives
Rive spawns forged weapons too on kill/boss hits with Bound Weapon passive
Think it's 25% base to spawn a weapon and goes up against rares and bosses by some amount
hmmmmm
Not that it's a good idea, but would Falcon Fists w/ the ring cause FWs to get the flat dmg twice?
I'd like to think so but I haven't seen any evidence of that yet
I slammed melee crit and fire pen/minion fire pen and like to think they get that twice as well
On Apathy's Maw I mean
Falcon Fists with high rolls and 3 to 4LP are probably bis tbf
Melle HH pally seems to be the most efficient way to gen ward as a sentinel
came up in the nem window and i empowered it before looking at the rolls to see if i could sell, fml
oof
Yes or spell HH
Yeah I'd hope so too w/ Apathy's Maw. And I agree, that's likely very strong for a glove slot if it does in fact work like that
T.T there should be a node that turns Sheild throw to melle ahha
Weird bug with the rings right now causing some item slots outside of gloves to give FW's stats too
You can play sentinel fine without ward tbh
I know, Iām doing it on my void shield throw, was just trying to make it work haha
falcon fists are smart synergy for the ring as described because of the AS but i don't think "your minions get x amount of damage" double dips because it doesn't seem to on falconer
Really? You have anything more on this?
you are supposed to be in melee range or close to abberoth almost always, otherwise you wont be able to dodge his attacks
that will not work, sorry
It's not "your minions", it's "you and your minions" to be more specific. We would need to confirm with a dev whether "you" is coded as just "melee fire damage" for the glove owner or not
my b then yeah that's a great question
Thanks
Yeah that was my thought too. The way that it's worded leads me to believe they get the buff from you for "your minions" and themselves from "you."
Alas, I have the ring and the gloves but no FG to test š¦
You can get FW without being a FG
š ok I'll test it.....
what is the general stance on using maxroll? like are the builds there considered good? or are there better places to find builds
Maxroll is pretty good for beginners but anyone playing past few hours will find inadequacies in most of their builds across all games that they cover. I've seen time and time again the people posting Maxroll guides take very little constructive criticism of their choices when they parrot popular builds with 60-80% accuracy
tl;dr: their minmaxing sucks
thats subjective, imo their sentinel builds outside of leveling are pretty minmaxed
I would use it as a guide to see what others are doing for a build you want to try and then look out for affixes related to gear and use it as a guide instead of how most people use guides as more of a holy bible template
They are a good resource for learning about how skills work together
@sterile latch you're avenged
ahh okay, im really into the spin to win echo warpath, might not be a top build but i like the playstyle, ill see if i can innovate a bit myself once i get further into the game
warpath is kinda old tbh, mediocre skill nowadays
spin2win never dies but a touch up would be good for a lot of sentinel stuff
i know, but im also not looking for "the strongest" just what i find fun
It's amazing for spawning forge weapons

Forge strike warpath most fun I've had in this game
I wish spin to win didnāt stop spinning when you go negative mana even when you get channel cost and mana cost to 0
if its low input i might be interested aswell
You just spin
i love smite warpath but its kinda hard to go to high corruption
echo warpath is fun on vk, smite warpath is fun on paladin, forged weapons warpath is fun on forge guard
each mastery has a fun warpath build
I got 9k armor and 2700hp with fairly little HP stacking aside from idols
vk vitality gang
Not sure how much further than say 700 corruption I could go exactly
well in these games i usually dont go SUUPER into end game just a little, so think that would be fine for me honestly
my goal for any self made build is to work at 300 corruption
I managed to kill Aberroth on second try with this build
First one I died on 15%, slam caught me offguard
Proceeded to kill it 8 more times after, got only one Nihilis sadeg
right then i just need to figure out if i stay on vk or go to fg
No idea about VK personally
But I really love this build, the tankiness and the damage
My end goal is to get mana stacking gear
I'm not sure how I want to work Peak of the Mountain into my build
You need something really heavy and small to put on whatever key u bound warpath to then just go make coffee "arena echo cleared"
xD
Because it almost singlehandedly critcaps your minions it seems
With the Phantom Grip bug
I don't want to level a mage but I think I found a way to be perma invulnerable to dmg... might test a bit offline
I know you can get like 98% damage taken to mana
Why only 98%?
I'm guessing thats the highest you can get it too
Ok I actually can't tell if the gloves are double dipping, I'm gutted
sad
lvl1 weapon with no other gear equipped than rings and gloves?
Lemme test it
Should be able to tell fairly easily by unequipping ring
How does judgment that procs smite work with the traversal node in smite?
Bo's Anarchy, gloves, ring. It's ofc doing more damage, but I'm leaning towards not double dipping? My gloves have +15 and the ring is 64%, but the jump in dmg from wpn to wpn + gloves / wpn + ring is decent, but then using them together is not nearly as high as I'd think
And I'd forgotten the ring had +6 dmg on it š
It'll proc a normal smite
HH has a more lightining dmg node⦠I assume it only applies to the electrifies?
Yea
With the Erasing Strike node Time Loop, do ALL Erasing Strike echos start costing additional mana or just the guaranteed ones from the node?
Someone knows how the build is working that the current Nr 1 in Arena is using? Forge Guard
anyone running lightning smite needs devotion necklace yea?
Anyone know of any good Paladin builds for 1.1 that don't involve spinning hammers? I think they look goofy š
Maybe for crit smite yeah, electrify no
ah so going electrify you just want cast speed and triple cast and stacks not the more mods from things like the sacrifice node
The opposite when I've done it, usually proccing smite with attacks that also cause electrify (like javelin rain)
do thew more dmg modififders of HH apply to the electrify that it can apply?
I believe generic more modifiers (i.e., nothing that says "more spell dmg", "more hit dmg", etc.) boosts the dmg of inflicted ailments unless otherwise explicitly stated.
you want generic mores, even skill mores, but not more skill hit
ah okay okay
the type can be specific (fire for ignite, phys for bleed, etc.)
The applicable damage modifiers in smite (like sacrifice) apply to its electrify, HH's modifiers only apply to electrify that it applies itself
would this apply to electrify since it is global?
yes
Testing stuff offline takes way less time. Only an hour to level to 100, gear up, and get to t4 julra
the existence of offline and CoF make LE miles ahead of any ARPG for me
ailments applied by skills.... dmg.... also scale from the stat (vit ect) as long as it isn't a flat scaling? or if the ailment has a spell tag it could scale....
is there a way to dual wield more than just a sword in offhand or is that the only option?
sentinel can offhand swords
primalist can offhand swords and axes
rogue can offhand swords and daggers
bummer I was gonna warpath with two taste of bloods for leveling
spellblade (mage mastery) can dualwield swords
I often forget sentinel can't offhand axes and it makes me sad. I have several nice void axes and I was wanting to DW them
they would need to make monument of honor a different weapon type then
any recommendations for two hand warpath leveling weapons then?
probably Dreamthorn
Think I used Hammer of Lorent. It dropped and I was like screw it
lvl 15 sword, 40 flat void, 40% void pen. will last a long long time
dreamthorn sounds perfect, I wanna be void knight so that's awesome
nemesis even gave me one with T6 area while I was leveling
Or just slam an lp4 for like 50k gold on the market of a unique no one uses
guess i have to make a FG now
Sheesh
this needs a NSFW tag, goodness gracious
fun fact, this is the 11th tripple exalted + sealed affix item today, nemesis going craycray
hwat in tarnation...
here is another nutty attunement one from today
Hey guys, I'm following the Shield Bash FG maxroll guide, but I'm having trouble sustaining mana. (And this is without Horns of Uhkeiros, which I expect would make it a lot worse)
Does it require Foot of the Mountain? And/or do I need to get mana regen on my gear somewhere?
if I am wanting to stack electrify with smits ect... do I want a wands? I know flat spell dmg doesn't apply but
Lmao I am envious; my silly build was supposed to be Attunement stacking but somehow I only have 40 Attunement so idk
the problem is, my actual build is stuck because i aint getting exalted items
I think your actual build is attunement stacking now. the game has decided. š§āāļø
attunement stacking on void bae is silly
you can tell ppl it was for the armor mitigation to dots passive!
Aurelis
with lp Chance to Ignite
I actually want to see a Vitality stacker with a crab ring just for the memes
ignite would increse electrifying?
Read the conversion Node in Smite
OOOOOOO
smites more dmg sac node would apply to electrify dmg applied by the smites yes?
Yes
Gib ... now .. plox
omnomnom
I found so many hands and none have a good CDR roll
yea, this one had low cd roll and attunement
but i put it in a nemesis that upgraded it from 0lp-4lp so it was worth a smash at that point
nemesis has certainly been a fun mechanic. its basically a 0 risk vaal orb
just chuck things at it and see what neat things pop out
yea, it stays interesting all the way from the start and into late endgame
not to mention it adds a purpose/another gamble for 0lp items. overall a really well made mechanic
I just wish eggs were more common
anyone have any advice for this?
whats your shield bashes mana cost
sorry, I just swapped off the build cos I was getting annoyed with the mana cost - but probably base 9 + 9 from flurry of blows - 9 from cutten edge - 3 from erased sentinel = 6?
ah, that is just a get more mana regen moment sadly
got it ok, ty
or reduce the number of points in the increased mana cost nodes until you have more mana regen
are there ways to reduce the mana cost further?
Yeah I would like to see mana efficiency come back on a more even scale.
Even if only for the big chunky cost skills
I'm pretty sure you need foot of the mountain for a couple of those builds
are bellows build doable ? just dropped this
That FS weapon tho
bellows is the FS node
I am aware, that is a juicy boost
1;1 ratio stun to dot
yep
Either really, if you can get enough bleed chance you could just spam FS with the no CD node and stack like 30 super bleeds
otherwise the MS way is super smooth
Does the idol that increase smite dmg % applye to the electorify ?
at this point I have no idea what goes were
hahah
oh FS sword node has 35% more aps
at least there are some solutions
yeah no cd means that is not enough. You need around 32/mps to keep up with it
could use VR to get more oompf
Would be good for bosses but not during running monos, though if you can get enough aoe with teh ranged talent that might not be that bad
Oh no. Fatigue is starting to set in. š¦ If I'm taking a break though I'm uncertain of when I'll be coming back.
It's starting to set in though so I might still have a few hours of fun in me.
reached max level yet?
86
I just have a cap on how long I can play any one game while I still have fun with it.
542h here
I mean I have 168 hours total in the game.
So it's not like I dislike this game. (168 is a lot to put into a single game, normally I don't even reach 100)
i play HC so thats why i played so much
I only started in 1.0
build dies. i play other build. so much fun
and u dont even have to do all 10 acts
just do 1-7 then skip through temporal dungeon for +1 bonus and the remaining passives
I didnt know doing temporal gave you the bonus and the passives
I do first two dungeons and up to the city and then straight to monoliths. Often don't even get 2 of the passive points by the time I go make a new build
this is what i played this season o_O
u dont get the passives. u just skip act 8 (lagon) after killing morditas and end up in majelka
I just generally hit monos as soon as I can and then regrind the campaign
usually i kill morditas > run fall of outcast till i kill boss > temporal dg > majelka for remaining pts/idol slot and +1 attribute
gigachad unarmed judgement build?
I actually like going through the acts. It is slightly more fun than blasting echoes.
I'm getting to the point already where echoes are getting old. And I've barely even climbed corruption
Like I'm sorry for bringing it up. I didn't mean to make this some kind of competition of how dedicated we are. I already know I'd lose.
well i used to do this but i run many chars due to playing hc. i die a lot bc i do risky stuff especially early league (like doing rayeh with 0% void res)
I can't play hard core.
Echos get old quick, and they know that, that is why we got harbingers, they know the end game gets stale quick
Perhaps I try hc. Might make it more enjoyable. I do die a lot tho
I was literally more excited for 1.2 with the new campaign chapter than anything else.
bit late but the orbs are invisible, I cast in an empty spot and walked there and gained all my hp instantly
i never reached higher than 300 corrupt. last build that did was the wraithlord necro. then i got bored
ye same here
oh no, I just read something and now a new meme is taking form, send help
thing is hc gets easier on alts. your first char dies but unless u play solo char found, u get to use the gear u're hoarding
I am hoarding a lot of gear rn....too many tabs
You are likely just losing interest due to lack of progression. At a certain point, build upgrades stagnate and the return on time becomes small. This is why I make new builds and avoid guides
Yeah that's pretty accurate
If you found the gameplay boring, you probably would have quit far far earlier
We do a little organizing
At this point I don't pick up 1LPs unless I'm hunting that specific item
and I just died because the game decided to not read controller inputs
unfortunate
This happens with any game though.
I dont know what they did, last cycle it worked so well but this cycle Ive had a ton of issues
I eventually just wanna play something else.
There's also the part where I kinda want to farm out arbor. But with T10 CoF still being bugged, I'm hesitant to do so rn
It would feel like a waste of keys
I mean nothing wrong with coming in, playing a bit in the cycle and leaving, it's literally made to do that
Wait did they fix that yesterday? I must have missed the blog post
t4 is generally a decent jump but even a halfway competent build is only going to feel it for julra
cremorus has the HP of a particularly sturdy rare at 500c
I'll be farming arbor for a bit
yeah if you are good on mechanics from the other levels it should be fine, but the stuff that hurts at t3 will prob one shot you at t4
the actual heart is a pushover HP wise
in t3 i can just facetank and heal through it with HH lol. prob not in t4
t4 is a noticable jump, but you should still be fine
i love dungeon layouts
i do only have 2k hp rn....so maby not enough to face tank
nop
actual hp is irrelevant, eHP is the facor
But, on the bright side. I made this.
my secret to eHP is not having it š
Does Eternal Eclipse give forged weapons a mind boggling +200 flat damage every 2 seconds?
No, that is the uniques ability, they only get the flat stas
very true. You can beat t4 julra with under 1k hp like I did
rip. Thanks for checking my thinking
However what it DOES mean is that they inherit all the flat dmg and pen of the Event Horizon hammer
I do need to shuffle some things around when I equip this though.
How rare is scorn scepter ?š¤
oh, well...that is a lot of flat dmg, good shout
time to start farming for maces! let's see, what mono is that...
sigh back to the reign of dragons
the pen is the big part, you take the nodes that give your little weapons 60 flat fire and they have at least 50% fire pen too? glorious
it's a harbi only drop
this is not a sentinel questions, but I thought the harbis were native to specific timelines?
Cuz I fought defilement in Rayah and was very confused
I'm guessing it's best to go pally for a duo shield based build?
for monument? pala or forge are what ive seen
ye monument
Ive no clue about harbis, I fought the one mandatory one and havnet done anymore because I thought the fight was cancerous
It might be that they get shuffled around after you beat them for the first time?
I only fought the one prior (I've been lazy), and I was down to farm for World Splitter until this rando harbi came my way.
I believe there are 2 and they get an additional ability based on the timeline. they're specific for those timelines though so you wont find fat boy in Lagon
I mean if you don't like it just turn it off?
this dw palarus thing is dumb, I've got warcry critting for 1.5k XD
ah so I got played, got it lol
ooh I'm dw palarus too! Wth a whopping, uh, 41 attunement
!There is a bug on that one and it shows the wrong name
lel
š Vlad with the wisdom! Ok so I got played by RNG and not the harbs themselves, ty haha
It does spawn the correct Harbi, whatever is name really is
Just the hp bar shows a different name
Got it. Then I am doubly saddened that I actually have to grind for the axe instead of being blessed š¢
Ok this is exciting. My armor bumped up by a ton and I was able to fix my resists.
yeah it's fairly easy to get resists and you're not slammed for being a few points below max either
I just swapped out the necrotic resist idols for cold ones.
yep lol
I hoard every idol I find for these kinds of situations.
Also got the elemental res from paladin. I had to sacrifice some points elsewhere.
My health dropped by 100 points or so but I think it's worth it.
I also think this is alright to start with when it comes to gloves to use with Phantom Grip.
The attunement is just nice for myself, but the attack speed and health will benefit the swordies.
So I think my damage output is also going to be going up on average.
I just uh, have to re-spend points on my axe throw shenanigans. Because that's where I borrowed the points to get my elemental resist up.
I think Im going the wrong direction with this dw palarus thing
how so?
I felt like I did a lot more damage by dropping 1 for a sceptre / wand. You need a lot of strength to get the same amount of spell damage
Ive gone DW with Palarus/Aurelis, doubled up on Aurelis for bosses. Melts faces. Its the survivability and in-between that's lacking.
Admittedly, I am still wearing a couple high-stat rare pieces.
That's fair. I'm dw them myself, and I'd agree that it's largely unnecessary. I'm on the melee side myself, and it's not doing me large favors lol
yeah, its the proximity and being locked into animations, plus lack of a decent gtfo skill thats bogging me down I feel most of the time.
This is not a sent build lol, but it is giving me good info for my dw palarus sent

are you scaling attunement or strength? for what skill?
Att mostly for smite with DW aurelis.
the str is to supplement with palarus when I am doing echoes
Attunement as well, but the focus is HH for me. I went Veng instead of Multi. My Smite is for the "used Smite/a spell recently" stuff + blind.
I am currently in Empowered with this setup right now, despite still wearing rares, level 81, and pretty garbage stats.
OMFG I AM gonna CRY
Reborn? You okay, bro?
Oh man which of these is better? The first one has worse affixes overall but the base attack speed is way higher. Any input?
Omg same, I still have on a Vipertail from leveling even lmao
I'd probably focus more on strength. You're lacking in flat spell power since you're not using sceptre/wands. Strength will get you a lot of flat and armor.
yooo shield guy might be official
Attack speed is generally king. You can test how each performs in the Arena on the dummies.
I wanted the 704% elem DOT and its the one thing it didnt dooš
Dang, that really sucks.
Yeah the Dawn Blade for sure. The slight stat differences can be made up elsewhere, but the aspd cannot.
I mean the frailty rate is irrelevant in the end. I have 12 forged weapons and MA with sword, enemies will be frailty capped lol
And I guess a mere 10% difference in ignite chance isn't that bad.
hehe, my FG build uses bleed stacking 2h.. I can hit and maintain somewhere around 300-500 bleed stacks.
Before using this sword I could go around 70 ignites. I'm not sure where to get more ignite from other than sheer attack speed.
Well, I can get from the passive tree but I'm kinda point starved rn. XD
There should be some passive nodes that can help you. There's also some nodes in Holy Aura if you're using it, and I think Healing Hands does some work too.
I don't have those. I'm doing a kind of "all of the minions" build.
So 4 of my slots are taken up by minions + multistrike.
Plus Volatile Reversal.
Yeesh. I use Rive to generate my minions, with Forge Strike to just give them damage.
Multistrike in my experience generates minions way faster than the other methods.
Stacking Armaments and using Forge Strike is good too.
The other methods have their own little quirks though.
if I make a hc and die, do I perma lose the character or does he just become a normal character?
Like Warpath can summon them consistently, if not super fast.
Yeah, I dont know how I'd build a full minion sentinel. Rive minions are supplemental to my FG build. I was orignally going to go pure phys bonk knight with stuns, but that changed.
Hard core characters that die get moved to the equivalent mode. But the stash will not move with them. Only what's in their inventory.
I've been using multistrike for my minion build
So if you're in hardcore cycle you go to normal cycle.
Yeah, it generates a bunch at once. With my Rive, I am never not without one to two minions or a full group.
multistrike to build up a few stacks of arnament and forge strike to use them + summon minions
1-2-3-BWANG! 1-2-3-BWANG!
pretty much yeah
That's my rotation lol.
hehe, to each their own. I like having the added utility of Rive insta-gibbing enemies/bosses below 15%.
I tried rive but it didn't seem like it was spawning them nearly fast enough. Maybe I just didn't have enough AS?
Thats very possible.
I know that once I dropped my stun hammer for a faster weapon, I had more minions consistently.
Also the BWANG procs the attack speed buff.
That is better than having to keep a last laugh in your inventory always
also need to use apathy's maw for this build so the attack speed in general isn't great
Yeah warpath makes u too lazy to use it
Interesting you say that, Charlie, cuz I want to put my awesome bleed axe onto a 3-4 LP last laugh, so I can free up the nodes in Rive.
hmm. do you think forge or pally passives are better for shield guy?

trying to decide on pally or forge for him
Drew, pure shield/defense? Forge Guard has a lot of defensive stuff later in the tree, pally has some in the early tree.
Yeah. Pure defense
How do I export / import my character because i need guidance on my guy
Nooooo. Embrace evil and do VK shieeeeeelds
Yeah, Forge Guard has more shield defensive nodes than Pally. Pally does have access to Holy Aura though. and that can give you a lot of utility for defense.
Hmmm true
you use lastepochtools.com, go to build planner, import. put your account name, character name, then share
copy the link then paste here
do i put my account name when i log in?
account name and character name you're importing
for the game, yes
in my example, my accountname is totalsticks, my character name is artorias (he was gonna go void knight, but I got distracted by a really awesome forge guard I saw)
Speaking of 1-2-3-BWANG!, that Dawn Blade does make the 1-2-3 a bit more comfortable.
Okay I figured it out.. Can I link my profile so i can get advice?
Go for it.
i have 0 physical resistance lmao.
oof, thats gonna hurt. but you're early anyways
i cant unspec stuff or else i would've went for full phys resistance
Okay, what is your primary damage here, smite? Procced by Healing Hands?
Okay okay. Gimme a minute to take a deeper look. What are you struggling with atm?
I should be higher armor stats, And not one shot things . I see low level weapons but it sometimes has better stats which is odd.
i do understand the crafting table a little bit more now. on my chest piece i somtimes spec into vitality or strength
the base matters, but higher rarities can negate that for a large part.
Ok so despite my ignite chance going down a bit, I can now stack ignites higher. So the attack speed was all the difference.
Especially with Uniques, as their effects can be force multipliers.
i'm trying not go for the skills that have a negative red on it when i click on the skill
it always is! Last cycle I did an ignite rogue and I was a fiend for any aspd for that very reason
@gentle cloak is falconer fun?
Negative red can still lead to better outcomes, depending. Like if you get +4 mana cost but 120% extra damage, you could probably eat that 4 mana no problem.
how do u guys farm cof rank so fast ? spam low cost prophecy ?
One recommendation, thats only a personal preference, is to map out where you want your final product to look like, and spend the minimal amount of points branching out to fill it, then backfill with extra points as needed.
I found it to be fun, but I didn't mess with the broken builds from last cycle. If the scaling fire pen w/ int + staff actually worked, I would've played my build again
Get exp
CoF ranks up through killing stuff, AND also spending favor on prophecies, you dont gotta complete them.
what's CoF?
Circle of Fortune
i heard merchant is better
im offline there is no choice
HH Pally was fun, until it wasnt. 10+ min fights against bosses. Slow stutter-stepping through dungeons, etc.
Merchant is better until someone dupes gold and everything half decent becomes 80 billion gold
Again
They both have their own up and down-sides.
I still might go merchant tbh. it's probably only good one
I prefer CoF partially because what Engi said, but also I like loot explosions. That and the sheer amount of loot you get can gear most alts up to a reasonable level.
This is my gripe for sure. Lunge is just for lunging, so even though the class is strong I feel so slow.
And I jumped all the way to 136 corruption. Raising corruption isn't so bad once you find the shade once or twice.
Is there a benefit to going as far away as possible to get a shade?
So Merty, looking at your passives, you're pretty spread out over what you want to do. While that's fine in leveling, its generally better to specialize. While you dont have to follow any build guides, I would at least recommend looking at some and seeing what they're doing and why.
Like right now I just prioritize raising corruption by any amount.
OMG, Lunge.. I hate targeted-only movement.
Are there no builds that use lunge as a damage tool instead?
I do on my smite build.
Just zipping between enemies?
Also supplemental healing when it's off cooldown too, plus the insta-kill.
Spreading the "message" of the lord (smites). lol
Evade made my pally much more survivable, because I can get out of things like the Emperor of Corpses' huge aoe a lot easier. Without any mobility skills, thats tough to do.
wait my hc account found character doesn't have the same stash as my non-hc account found characters?
hc is its own ballpark
presumably
If he dies you can res him into regular I think
i havent done hardcore yet, though i really want to, maybe with a Spriggan or something.
Lunge really is the worst. Consider me a Lunge hater.
I see....I got the axe shield on my other sent which is why I wanted to try bash build. I guess I'll just play him hc till I inevitably die
become shieldrush enjoyer like me
lunge is amazing, just not as a traversal skill
ah
I don't have rooooom for it (I should really be dw, just not with palarus lol)
Yeah, I've been big lunge user for a long time. But I do agree with Draven.
I do still, even though they said they fixed it, get stuck in place with lunge though, so that can kinda kill the mood for a moment.
I lowkey wanna get of Mr. Bones' Sentinel's Wild Ride, but a 3LP Devotion dropped as if to keep me here...
lol lucky
You can evade out of it when that happens but yeah it's a little annoying but it happens a LOT less. But that missing health returned when you lunge with cd and extra charges? Oh man
I wonder what a DW Primalist using Palarus, or even Spellblade, could do.
and this is pre empowering, wish me luck
GL
I am doing primalist right now and it's stupid
ooh nice, gl indeed
the str stupid good, the healing from smite is great. Right now Im doing swipe for the global cit and they hit for like...1500 at lvl 40
hmm.. add in the gloves for Swipe.. thats a lot of damage
swipe gloves are dumpster tier though
Oh no, you've awoken my altitis.
They really are. Only useful until you quickly find much better.
what Im using
mmm, thats hot
Big strongk
try using the Last Bear's set items, full set gives you 40 str, chest only gives you 10.
And you get LOTS of endurance and hp regen, chance to stun etc.
the set isnt worth it, the gloves though for that regen when Im stacking str
Its very niche, yeah.
Sent really needs more recovery tools
healing hands go brr
? thought they had a lot
Erasing strike leech brrrrr
It do, but we shouldnt have to rely on it, especially with all the ward gen and the new regen nonsense primalst gets
Oh, right.. I wanted to try a healing hands holy blade build too.
What are you trying to build palarus primalist around?
Thats true, pally has to rely a lot on skills to heal them, meanwhile everyone else gets a lot of passive mitigation in the form of ward or regen
idk at the moment, might go tempest strike
attack speed palarus
Double down on the memes
i am nothing if not a walking meme sometimes
smite is fire damage, no way to change it on primalist
Yaaah!
hrm, thats what makes me think of spellblade, though it'd be hard to work str into the build
tfw the nemesis stuns u 3 times in a row while u try to slam...
I feel like you donāt worry too much about the smite. You donāt have a passive tree giving you 200% more damage and you donāt have fire elsewhere to really scale.
Is it worth 3 Smites every 2 seconds though? It's not doing much on Primalist; I feel like it'd only be for the scaling.
You basically treat palarus like being able to offhand a scepter/wand.
offhand the palarus, mainhand something like Firestarter's Torch, Ladle, or Cinderwhatever
I think the fact that I gained a very good offensive and defensive boost just now is making me a bit more exited to keep playing for a little bit.
Do we know if the two swords have separate ICDs for the smites?
And it was just yellows too.
i think its the same global
I think the same modifier gets added together.
This means they are subject to the same caps and such.
And again, I think your options to scale smite is pretty bad. All the generic +flat from palarus is fire and primalist basically can only add/scale cold and lightning spells.
yeah, the more I look at it, its not a good idea
even spellblade with fire stacking doesnt help
You can maybe make a build out of the fact that you can offhand a weapon that adds scaling for strength to spell. Your options for spell in offhand is just catalyst and maybe another sword or axe
That and I already have a smite build running around in empowered, no point in making yet another.
should i make an alt for this
Attunement to melee seems weirder. Tempest Strike always has something for that so you do have that going for you.
gengar, I made an alt for it myself, so I can become one punch man, or whatever judgement build i can come up with
Make a new main and go SLAM
i really wanted to do something like crusader from D3 with Judgement, the walking explosion, add in shield bash.
I mean I guess you could use palarus as off-hand for a spell werebear build? Idk that that's better than a catalyst but at least it's a bonus?
problem is you're scaling only off of str and attunement, and nothing else, because smite is fire, and iirc primalist doesnt have fire as part of their arsenal.
Mhm, you can't use all of the weapon. But I mean that's to be expected since it wasn't made for Primalist. I'm just trying to consider what areas it could be useful at all. As I am also addicted to alts so the theorycraft is fun haha
that, and really, 3 smite limit in a short time is not really that much damag
Agreed. Which is why I think its best use is on a melee Paladin, using Smite for conditional buffs over damage.
yeah, and I only use Palarus on my build for when I'm doing normal clears, since Aurelis doesnt proc on normal mobs, and Multistrike has trouble proccing smites in close proximity or with single targets.
Something around EQ would be interesting. It is a strength based skill that can be changed to a spell.
EQ?
Earthquake, aftershocks should go spell as well and also have str scaling
Oh. I see it often used as an afterthought.
shaman earthquake uhh, lightning totems
could try to flat spell damage, and make Avalanche>Earthquake
Honestly, if someone was threatening my life and the only way to get out was to recommend a palarus primalist build, I think I'm going spell Werebear.
Werebear, Swipe, Maelstrom, Tempest Strike, Tornado/Warcry? Phys Str stacker?
Trouble is smite being fire, so you would be relying only on str/att and spell damage to scale it. It'd be tough, but doable.
Sounds lame. Go earthquake and become a muscle wizard
I cast fist.
Can someone tell me the next way to scale my palarus please
I wouldn't use it for Smite, it'd be the extra 0.5 Str scaling for spells as Werebear has 1.0 Str scaling for spells
Didnāt know it got free scaling, maybe entangling roots? Iāve never used that skill
I have 48 spell damage at lvl 80 and need to know what stats to add to my items to scale palarus
Guessing I need to add increase to spell dmg - what else
it depends a lot on exactly how you're using it. is it base fire, has it been converted to lightning? etc
depends, what dmg is your smite, are you playing it dot or hit
Iāll be using it for fire
Havenāt decided yet what to play hit or dot .. whatās best
so hit based, you need to scale damge % (any is fine since it's additive) but also crit %
fire damage, spell damage, str/att, damage over time if for dots.
crit chance and multiplier.
Ok Iāll test both to see whatās best at lvl 100 once I get all the gear
Paladin is the only class that has access to Electrify btw, unless you're using Mad Alchemist's Ladle
I wonāt be going lightning with palarus
dot is better if you dual wield with aurelis (lightning pen with electrify)
mmmhmm, I get some nasty hits with it.
Iāll be using Shield with 100% block chance
reason is u can spread electrify with healing hands so it's a clearing monster
very interesting, I hadnt considered that. I'll take a look at how I can reconfigure later.
100% block means naught if you dont have block effectiveness
I mean, if you can retaliate from the block with an effect, that would be a sweet way to generate damage.
Question - does the node pillars of light affect smite double cast if Iām using palarus as melee ? Do I need points there or just rely on the weapon stats
Iāll have good block effectiveness later
the thing is playing melee palarus would be dangerous, you'd rather cast smite instead
Idk, maybe? You can get Maelstrom and Wind Tempest (and maybe Tornado?) to do phys dot, so Roots actually does fit...
and casters can just run around
pillar of light is from which skill?
nvm, its smite. And it ONLY affects direct casts.
no it wont bc you need to "directly cast"
I have a build in mind and itās going well at mono 100 at level 80 .. I use ros / manifest armor / divine bolt and rive .. getting many bolts and smite and rive all at once is nice and survivability is great
Ok thanks .. thought so
surv is great till it aint
yup, as my Forge Guard is discovering.
Time will tell still early days
immortal up to empowered, getting ragdolled by normal mobs now.
rive is essentially cheating
imo its better to do selfcasting because at some pt you'll be swarmed by mobs and it's better to cull their numbers before they reach u
but if you re not going for high corruption its fine i guess
Iāll see how far I get melee before I switch
I always aim for high corruption
also doesnt melee palarus have limitations with smite/sec ?
How so
got a dumb question we think rive ignite is anyways possible lol
3 cast per sec with melee procs / you can cast faster with double cast and cast speed
It's rive, all things are possible
Think itās doable with the right amount of attack speed ?
yeah but like viable lol
It's rive, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE
but it's max 3 cast per sec is what im saying
But in all seriousness yes it's extremely possible, if only because that one node exists that doubles your status and dmg affixes on 2h
Yeah but Iām also getting like 20 bolts a second and rive dmg
IMO, palarus is only good for normal solo mobs. Anything else, you have multistrike procs, aurelis procs.
Iāll let you all know how it goes once Iāve geared up and at lvl 100 .. need a few days
Yeah man, would love to see it work out. Smite/Lightning Javelin is one of my favorite builds. really evokes Dark Souls 2 lightning spear days.
my goal for this league is to play selfcast mana stacker smite
Reminds me, I need to work on my Lightning Javelin build again..
Palarus is for melee, not for raw Smiters imo. Better ways to do actual Smite dmg and clear.
You know, for a short while, I had to resort to direct smites, because it was just more reliable.
I have a hammerdin smite - but I want to try melee for fun
I wish Paladin has a node that let you use a Spear/Shield.
mana stacking smite with devotion > use judgement to consume all my mana. +200 spell dmg +50% casting speed
Agreed phalanx paladin when
then I could use shield rush instead of lunge..
You can do Dark Rush on Shield Rush tho
doesnt shield rush require a shield though?
oh, okay, Dark rush removes that req
makes it void damage, but who cares, its just to get around
Zoom full speed ahead with spear!
I think I have a Turani's Bident in my stash, if so, the javelin build is a go. That or Void Knight, I've got all but the empowered drops for it.
Does devotion work if your melee ? Like increase the spell dmg per missing mana ? Guessing not
Hmmm. can Smite echo? Yes, it does work, Baka
yes it works
Interesting
trying to make void knight caster work, but its just 10x the work for less output than 1 button classes do
got 1 extra WW from the nemmy XD
but you need to keep your mana low. in my build i use the out of mana smite because i want to consume my whole mana pool
Thats what I'm worried about, Cain. I mean, I dont mind the effort to make it work, but if its just not viable, or requires a ton of micromanaging, it may not be for me.
i mean its very fun to play
but so many of the nodes and passives have me just asking why
Just tested way more smite dmg .. mana always on 1-3
I use multistrike's node that consumes mana to generate more armament stacks, keep my mana nearly bottomed out all the time.
can you sustain it tho
And keeps my armament stacks high so I'm always smiting.
I have a lp2 devotion Iāll
Slam it later
Yes, Le Gaucher
and the thing is if im going for mana stacking im going for 1k mana at least
Yes it always stays at 1-5 mana
1k mana i want to eat all of that in a instant. solution > judgement 100% mana consumption
here's my build for example, keeps me always around 20-40 mana. https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/oYlbVEJB
:white_check_mark: This character build is verified

Yeah Iāll need to see where Iām at after geared fully
Now Iāll plug along and use what k have and adjust accordingly as I go
ye but its not mana stacking
not yet at any rate
i dont wanna ramp up my dmg, i want instant dmg
u want big nomber, i want lots of smaller nomber.
but yeah, short of judgement eating all my mana, thats the only way I've been able to tank my mana and keep it manageable.
i also want to play the smite with this doom pulse for clearing probably
probably memey but idc
Im actually planning on using that and gaspars and the meteor belt
whatever is fun, yanno
my lightning javelin build sucks, but in a fun way. I could play that for hours compared to my empowered smite build.
i have void/fire/lightning skill on my skill list so i'd be able to maybe nuke trash
1k mana is still 100 spell dmg on doom pulse which is 500 when you take into account dmg effectiveness
and that's just flat damage, then add the multipliers, thats big*
i dont do calculations i see numbers and thats it
Now I'm totally on board for a direct cast smite void knight. I wont be able to use Darkstride effectively, but w/e
It works with time and faith, it's so smooth right now
u'd need a mana spender if u go mana stacking route.
unless you dont use devotion then whatever
The wengari that use avalanche are a problem, 1800 non crit
yup those guys killed me dead a few times
Wengari Patriarchs are my bane.
yup, mine too.
so i know when to run
Their avalanche does absurd damage and stuns you every hit.
ngl nemesis is my new bane. i keep getting stunlocked cuz my erasing strike is too slow if stay too close
get unique boots
getting locked 3 times in a row is no fun. good thing i can roll out of its melee range. sometimes not so good if i land into his cold dot aoe
(you can level with the crab ring for some nice vit and ms)
thats a good point
I gotta work out the one true crab build sometime
i hate crab ring, im addicted to evade
play offline and you'll grow to hate evade
reason is i played a lot of grim dawn and evade is a must
lol, i dont know what true crab build is, but there's gotta be something more to it
GD has evade now
why ? @olive saffron i play offline
it likes to double cast and go right back to where you started
oooo this could be good
The crab scales 4% from Str, Att, and Int, so if you use Cleaver solution, you can scale int and str at the same time. Im wondering if it's possible to hit 100 in each
cradle of the erased is awesome
uh it happens but that bc my mouse is aimed outside of the screen most of the time. double roll is an issue tho
Red Ring, I think can help with it.
the crab is slow af
the Last Bear set, Primalist stacking Str and Att, Cleaver Solution.. probably get a good chunk of scaling on him.
I dont think the bear set is worth it
yeah, the crab is slow as hell, and seems to attack slow too
I havent used him yet, too many meme builds in the pipeline
The bear set has propelled me into Empowered way before I was supposed to be there. I would at least recommend giving it a try some time.
bear set is good. 30str is a lot
I have, and it is, but I dont think it's optimal
but when u get to emp u def can find better gear
not even empowered, 30 str is nice but you need other things too
Not me getting Apostate's Sanctuary while talking about VK Smite š
for sure, dont forget the 10 str on the chest piece by itself
2nd best thing about last bear is the fat regen from gloves
question: does Spreading Flames, if smite is converted to void, deal slow instead?
That is the best thing imo given primalists stupid new regen stuff
is very comfy for lvling
I don't think so. Fairly certain it only converts ignite.
combination of massive armor from teh str, endurance from chest, and regen from the whole set is enough to carry to empowered, it's a good tool to have
aight, im off to theorycraft for a bit, you guys have fun
wow
Blessed be the Weaver
You want it with 11% base -
ele res? eh
it will prob be replaced later. it's just insane as a leveling shield lol
Yeah itās good, I have one last cycle that was close to 90% block chance alone
For what build
