Whats your thought on: Orian's Sun Seal? Feels more like a quality of life than anything. Is it worth without high legendary potential? Could be using so much stuff instead of these. i dropped one with almost perfect rolls and 1 portential

Yes but quality of life shouldnt be a mechanic you get from loot and affixes, etc. It should just have a toggle option. Imagine having an unique to change the color of your filter or whatever lol
That is literally why we have items for, it's meant for different playstyles for different people. They had a mechanic in mind when they built the skill. And changing loot filter color is far different that doubling the duration of a powerful buff ability. Dont it, dont use it, simple enough.

Why should we not get some QOL from loot or affixes? Toggle makes no sense, they would just bake it into the skill since everyone would use it anyways
so the improvement to the hability is the ring, you will end up paying the ring to get rid of the penalty of the ring thats amazing

Apathy’s maw comes with a T7 flat melee void damage, if you get a 1 lp one you can slap another flat melee hood dmg affix onto it
This is ontop of faster leeching and the doom effect it puts on things (dot that makes them take increased melee damage)
It provides such an unethical amount of damage (that you can double if your using rive)
It’s also a shade drop so no matter what your doing (other than arena) your gonna end up with a bunch of them so most likely your get one with lp
Basically a longer cooldown doesn’t matter because everything just dies (assuming your using void cleave to amp your erasing strike)
If by amp you mean using both for hit damage, yes
Although I'm losing some VC damage for grabbing the displacement nodes
I was meaning using the obliterater node on void cleave (next erasing strike is a crit)
And the 5 time rot node in combo with erasing strikes 100% more damage vs enemies with 12 time rot node

I'll be honest, it's real weird that Forge Strike has so, so few nodes that actually boost the minions
Like you can literally pick up all of them in like 22 points? bonus skills just doesn't give you much
honestly I think it's a good thing, because you can get whatever you want out of it without having to do too much
my big gripe is the no CD node locked behind a 4pt that half of it becomes worthless after that

does forge guard's summon forge weapons also benefit from unique weapon abilities? For example, if you were wielding the last laugh legendary you get to execute enemies at low hp. would the forged weapons also execute at low hp or does it retain only the mundane stats?

forged weapons only inherit the stats, not the unique abilities I think

Been up all night/morning leveling my HH/Rive Paladin who is now at 47 and I'm having a blast, BUT there is only one issue with one of the abilities I use that I hate with utmost intensity: "Sigils of Hope"...
I have to stop my killing spree to recast this every now and then and it's SO annoying, but I don't know what to replace it with. Any suggestions?
I'm currently using: Rive, Holy Aura, Healing Hands, Sigils of Hope and soon Volatile Reversal. What would be a good replacement for Sigils of Hope? Preferably something that doesn't force me to stop. Something that adds or contributes to the fluideness(I don't know if that is even a word lol) with the rest of the abilities/skills I use. Please help! 😦

its no skill issue, this build play itself. you are for sure got wrong/low level items and prob underleveled for empowers
you should have around 2k life, 3k armour, possibility to generate ward and lots of bonusses to speed cast and spell dmg for smite with autocast healing hands

so is the order in which the scaling tags show up on a skill represent their priority? Kinda like how fire damage scales better than elemental damage because its specific over general in regards to dealing fire damage
tags dont have any sort of priority, elemental damage gives less than fire damage because elemental damage modifers are just weaker, but if you had 10% elemental damage and 10% fire damage they would do the same thing for a fire skill

Sub 4K ward (assuming 0 ward decay threshold) is buffed and all your defenses (expect endurance) apply to it. Ward is great
ok, try this passsives, just switched completly from 1h-shield to 2h weapon and its much better, much more life and str so I got more armour now

When I want to see if an item increase the damage of holy trail I have to go inside the skill and press Alt and check the dmg change... this is quite unhandy, is it the only way?

The paladin levelling build fro maxroll is very good. Made it to 70 last night after half a days work. Very tanky.

I'm currently trying warpath, javelin banner, smite, and uh the void slash traversal.
It's fun but on tankier enemies or sustained fighting I just run out of mana. I am still missing the -6 mana channel cost node for warpath though, but my pool is already just over 100 and it takes forever to regen so I'm getting concerned with the feasibility of the build, we'll see though. Respeccing isn't too bad in last epoch

taking all of the mana cost nodes on warpath should be a huge help for mana sustain because you'll be able to have almost your full mana regen while channelling warpath

So if warpath channel cost is say 5 and my base mana regen is 12 does that mean all of my mana regen speed increases are only applied to the 12-5=7/s? Or does it subtract after all the mana regen increases, sorry if that doesn't make any sense lol

Lagon is an annoying boss, don't sweat it haha
base mana cost is 8. so 12 is with all your mana regen modifiers already applied. if you have 12 mana regen and 5 warpath channel cost then you have 7 mana regen per second while using warpath

The origin of my concern is like if I have +100% mana regen and my base is 8, say for the example warpath is 7 channel cost, if the buffs are appliedafter then I'd have a mana regen of 2, whereas if it's before then I would have a mana regen of 9, big difference lol

might have to change abyssal echoes around a bit to get mana efficiency if it has mana problems
its a little tight on points but I think im only losing damage, and to me +24% mult damage of nothing is still nothing. Maybe once I get monument things might change. or maybe im just missing something else

i'm using it rn and i havent made it to endgame yet but it feels fantastic so far and smite/flameburst warpath paladin has always had good damage and this is essentially the same build except you're getting like 4x as many smites without really losing anything for it because the sword is really easy to get LP on

You need the relic that gives -3 to mana costs, and cutting edge on shield bash to be max. The passive crushing blows helps with mana regen. With those shield bash is basically free.

Did you lose your ward generation? divine bolts ONLY spawn if you are below full health. So the build requires at least one "% ward" item to force overheals into ward generation to always heal on 100% of casts.

15% crit from wep + 5 from you + 9 from tree means you need 300% increased crit instead of 700% which isn't achievable. You're unlocking a new scaling vector in critical strike damage that just can't really be used if you only have base crit

at least i personally found that the opportunity cost is too high
you def want some vitality but STR also:
- scales ES
- gives armor
- armor becomes DoT mitigation as well
so half Vit - half STR + Titan heart kidna resulted in both optimal damage and survive, but that's just my two cents

When I use Warpath, it constantly ticks down my mana. Which is fine, since it's a chenneled spell. But when I reach around 29 Mana (out of 72) it suddenly jumps to -9. This is a consitent behaviour. Is there a reason for this I missed?

You're welcome, it is a tad confusing. May I suggest checking out the Ingame guide by pressing G, most mechanics are pretty well explained. And no, +X crit raise the crit chance of ALL instance, including melee.

X Crit is for all crits, then you add +X mele crit. Thevalue displayed on youre character sheet under "melee crit" is the sum of both

"Need" is a strong word, but it gives you a lot of power that you cannot get otherwise.
its 10% base plus 10-30% for the three nodes (ten each) afaik
oh and rive has a node that doubles echo chance on that skill.

For anyone who cares about Palarus, Smite, and Healing hands : If you grab Hand of Aurelus (HH on smite), and Seraph Blade (HH is melee), and wear a Palarus and then hard cast smite while in melee range, you will smite (with +2 sometimes), then HH will melee, which may proc Palarus Smite.
If you grab the 'smite casts lightning bolt' talent.. its a lot of bolts happening.

These are the 3 "best" chests IMO to use for sentinels (YMMV) but they each give DR in different ways so whatever works out best for your build. (names purposefully left off so you can compare and contrast the different values)

@scenic gyro yes the other 2 are the ones you mentioned. overleech is good if you build up your endurance threshold (so that way when you fall below, you can survive long enough to leech back up)

The text says if you want 20dr%, all your resistances must be overcapped, not the combination of some, if you overcapped fire res, you only get 20dr% for fire res
thats not an issue, getting res is very easy
as paladin yes, maybe its worth it for them, but compared to titan heart, which is just 15DR% without no condition

What level were you when you got it, how was the build before monument
go to training dummy or use enemies to test. look at consistent damage numbers rather than the min-max range since its hard to tell without knowing more about your char would be quicker for you to see but i think the crit as its a multiplier
I got it around level 63ish. Played shield bash through the story, had its ups and downs but it was doable. Was able to clear the first monolith was fine. Stuff just took a while to kill as long as your kinda paying attention its pretty hard to die.
If you have strength on your weapon as forge guard do your forged weapons inherit the str and somehow benefit from it? It was my impression str already benefits minions

no affix, you can get to 40% with the passive tree, rive doubles the echo chance so you can get to 80% echo chance with it

Eh, I dunno, you need a lot of mana investment to break even, I think in theory it might be better at the high end, but apathy is just so good with no work other than slapping it on

So your answer is not "negative" then, it's Apathy for early endgame, and world splitter for possibly late endgame. For some casual gamerdad apathy is probably a great choice, but splitter looks to be better for a more fleshed out build
It still is negative with the information I have right now, I still think apathy pulls ahead overall, with WS possibly catching up.
apathy is def better for cooldown ES and void cleave with rive to fill the gap (foe cleaver loves apathy)
I don't have a worldsplitter + tons of mana to try our the one buton bonk build so I can only predict
I plan on trying a one button bonk build with FS when I get the items, this thing has been crazy so far. And after realizing detonating ground is a melee attack and speccing into it, bosses just disappear

Why is that an issue volfaren? The point of the sceptor is to make it instant cast so it can be cast while doing other things (like rive)
Unless I'm misunderstanding how the scepter works, VC is my most preferred traversal skill on sentinel. Removing the weapon requirement is great but defeats my purpose if it's no longer a movement skill

Mid-late game is pretty much done. Got the Apathy's Maw and my erasing strike damage went from 9k (dreamthorn) to 15k... Everything simply dies instantly

yea smite + the mobility. dr3adful has a build on yt / lastepochtools that has that as a setup. You can experiment with whatever you want too. lunge + smite on lunge is also very clean

I've been following this build, but it's not dated for the latest release. Is there a more up to date build I should be following? This doesn't seem to do much with the Vitality -> multiplicative melee void damage and the mana requirements seem out of line for the changes made to regen in this patch

Overall great build, and I'm still leveling in campaign (around 50 atm) so I know my opinions could just be wrong. Wanted to check in with you fine folks

For a Sentinel build it also doesn't use the "Poison/Necrotic/Void taken as physical" affixes, which I would think would do a lot for survival? Am I over estimating that? Damage conversion is really strong in POE
Those are pretty strong, but remember phys is an affix here and armor is another thing entirely
It's a decent starting build, there's some flexibility and personal preference of course. like Darkstride is now interchangable with "The Inevitable" and the erased sentinel relic is interchangable with "Anchor of Oblivion" I think double Siphon of Anguish is overkill. Nihilis or Omnis can be swapped out for the Amulet too. I'm also not a fan of volatile reversal, and Apathy's maw synergizes really well with Rive. Again, lots of flexibility on how you want to play things out and what skills you wanna focus on.
The thing is, while I like the game and understand the mechanics, I don't really think I'm a build crafter or number cruncher. I like following someone smarter than me to BONK efficiently 😄
I'll just keep playing with this until empowered monos then, if I get frustrated I'll likely post for some clarification
Nah it's all good, it's really hard to screw up in this game. That guide pretty much is what you want to follow, if something doesnt feel right try swapping out a skill. Once you get the the squid island getting xp is a breeze anyway

Can someone explain to me how vengeance works when using it with javelin (following maxroll pally levelling build). When i attack an enemy with vengeance there is no indicator that i am riposting (unless I am blind) I took the points in the tree that I deal more damage whilst preparing to riposte and I see no damage increase.

Nah. Paladin warpath was a rough start. Was hard to break 300c until a few items. Now I’m stuck around 500c without some harder upgrades.

Haven't looked up the rive build to see what it has or is missing, but Ocearon gives a lot of ailments and is a good source of shock with an additional 10% damage if you stack shock. Shock itself also reduces resists so if Ocearon is your only source of shock, it's a great multiplier.

I wouldn't use sun seal. With that setup auto sigils would only maintain 2 sigils. The sword you lose pen, dmg, and smite levels for more aoe smites. So, maybe more aoe vs single target

is it normal that the tooltips damage is way higher than actual damage dealt? My shield bash shows 7k on tooltips, but it is only 2k when dealt on even trash mobs 10 levels lower

It's not that impactful, especially late game. They have a innate more dmg. Late game they will be stronger. Early a bit weaker
