even that is weird considering some issues exist forever now
1.0 patch for example the CT found how broken Falconer was within 2 days, and warned EHG of it for upwards of 5 months. No changes.
there are still things that completely break dungeons and bosses there
That remained the same way for three seasons
I would cite the (in)famous warhammer gate bug that exists within their game engine and has existed since 2013 to this date.
falconer still oneshots uber btw
It sure does!
i'm convinced they include and keep around broken things because the idea of playing the "new, broken thing" is the only thing making player's come back
and then when that class is popular because of the broken thing they go "oh, they like it, no need to change it"
I've been with PoE for a decade and they aren't doing anything different over there in this regard.
without considering the health of the game or the why
new bugs just from this patch:
- fire aura randomly stops working in SP and i need to restart the client to fix it
- temporal sanctum respawn after death doesnt work, i cant use the time jump anymore so its just a dead run
they are tho
runemaster and warlock had their time in the sun then got brought in line fairly quickly. falconer? still ridiculously broken.
there are many ways to engage with poe that isn't just mapping
I do shit talk PoE balance constantly, but the game is still outright better than LE with zero contest.
PoE balance is dogwater. But for me the main issue in that game is how stale the skill meta is rn.
LE has the same issue tho
Key difference: PoE has how many seasons worth of changes and balancing and ajustments? At a rate of once every 3 months? LE is in season 4, version 1.4 was it or 1.5? Regardless, it has not gotten the same amount of time to actually grow that far.
poe at least does little shakeups this game still feels the same for the last 2y
skill meta is the least of my worries with this game atm, the biggest problem is how bad gear progression feels with imprints basically dead for exalts
LE has existed on Steam alone for 7 years
PoE has the same system of broken: look at traps and mines. It's not character based, but it is still specific. We have rogue/falconer here, same deal.
PoE routinely nerfs popular builds into useless territory the season after those popular builds got buffs to make them appealing to play again.
Try as I might I can't escape the similarities, while their forms may differ.
Gear progression feels bad because items are simple as hell and every build boils down to shoving in as much LP as possible.
Traps and mines are utter dogshit right now what are you on
Did they finally succeed in that? Been a good decade of them being mainstay.
There is ONE trap build that does anything and it's boss exclusive
poe still does rotate things out faster
mines are miserable to use outside of bossing content
Traps have been one of the worst build types in the game for six years
the lack of recovery rly makes me hate the archetype for any mapping content
i remember when we first met, you were playing a trap build in poe lol
Mines have been in a miserable state since Hexblast got dumpstered
And it was probably the worst build I have ever made purely because the concept was funny
Because, I mean... Last I played PoE1, it was 2 builds that were traps and mines... that cleared ubers... It was a sort of last hurrah for me to give them a go after years of hearing about them and yeah... I quit PoE1 after Settlers, mind.
yeah that tracks
Brother Settlers meta was Lightning Strike
yeah even in settlers nobody really played traps and mines
thats way way before that time
<- enjoys off-meta builds that still clear everything.
lightning strike my beloved
then your argument is worse?
if your off meta still can do anything balance isnt that whack
Like. I played the last GOOD all arounder trap build and that was even before AFFLICTION. And it requires a Nimis. Traps are doing terribly.
especially since arpg's aren't very skill based
Meanwhile, the selection of builds that actually can is about as limited as LE's
outside of the build, i mean
No????
I've only used lightning strike like once or so
and that was back in like 2015
there's not a ton of mechanical skill that can make up for bad strategy
I beat ubers this league on FLICKER SLAYER
ubers aren't really challenging content anymore
Sure. Now how many builds are there out there that can do the same at the same time?
Many
How many?
way more % wise than in LE
And by the way: flicker. Never was a bad skill
juiced mapping is harder than any uber could dream of being
That I concede to.
"concede to" this isn't debate hall dude lol
Blade Vortex, Lightning Strike (yes still), Righteous Fire, Kinetic Fusillade, Flicker, Spectres, Animate Guardian of Smiting, Kinetic Blast, Lightning Arrow, Ice Shot, Elemental Hit (both of them), CYCLONE, Spark, Penance Brand, Detonate Dead, Viper Strike, Molten Strike, Ground Slam, Forbidden Rite, Holy Relic, Exsanguinate, LACERATE, ETHEREAL KNIVES, ABSOLUTION, STATIC STRIKE, VENOM GYRE, and this is just a FRACTION of the builds that can clear ubers right now in under 30 seconds.
If I'm to walk away with the understanding that I was wrong, I better have my new facts straight π
I really wish you could juice monoliths tbh, it'd be sick to have like 10+ roaming beasts and such
Well, sounds like they have gone to town on diluting the game since I stopped.
i think you just don't know what you're talking about tbh
flicker is one of the most expensive skills to run and it can't boss
if i have to invest mirrors to make a skill good the skill isn't good
it's just fun
Who knows? I did lose contact with the game utterly since I simply quit. And I quit because the ratio of my finding value in playing that title vs my reluctance to go back to it just tipped the other way. Try as I might, I still can't exactly piece together the value of that product today, when the same idea has been done better elsewhere, for what it's worth.
ok
Yeaa flicker is risky
could just jump to beams or dot pool or whatever
Anyway, think I'm done with the poe league now that I hit 36 challenges
The armor looks mostly good
The helmet is whatever
Well done :)
interesting
ogod
Just join the self-portrait club.
π€ I wonder what happen if these loot-based ARPG can take self-portrait too
I've been at 35/40 for way too long but I should probably stop being lazy because I know it's probably some trivial garbage I'm missing
Hello Off Topic don't mind me I was just Slaying The Spire 2 for a little bit
Nothing and frankly I don't care
The doomer in me starts to think aRPGs is a dead, or cursed genre with maybe one game that qualifies as good
Slay the Spire 2 is great though
Tbh I was gonna go for the 8k map tiers at first
but then I realized I'd rather just try the challenge with different invitations as rare with at least 4 mods
The only one I died in was Feared once but only after I already managed to kill Sirus and Elder
I have to say I really don't like getting the memory bosses for the invitation
having to go through like 4-5 maps before you get to that boss
while all others you can just run that 1 map
On the brighter side I've started playing Stoneshard and Total Warhammer 3 again
It devours my time, but it's also suffering xc
Tbh I'm not sure what I'll play now that I'm done with the poe league
maybe some vermintide 2
sounds good
I still on the way of unlocking more portals
Can't go for a walk with long distance and wide range like that in real world so I do that in game
Just scrolled a few pages and idk why people try to talk about shit they clearly have zero idea about AT ALL
Like just say "I don't know" and move on man
I am doing some delve side by side as I do challenges lol
I wanna see what 1k+ is like
I did 4 simus yesterday for the challenge and got 2 Voices and 4 megalos
free 20d
I did some delve too yeah
I was considering maybe just doing some heisting now that I'm done with the league
buut... yeah
I didn't know it till I started but even the most random fossil is like 10-12c per rn

Ikr
It's great money
Never read what cyberpunk is until watching blade runner 2049 π€
And then I got3 of those abyss socket jewels in same screen
they're like 300c each or something like that
Tbh I only made it to like 300ish, maybe 350 before I stopped delving
It's a bit of a patience test it feels like
I think it'd ironically be a lot easier to do it on leaguestart
You can do leaguestart-able versions now, but yeah it's never gonna be a good bosser without solid currency poured in
I was actually gonna start Flicker last league before I ended up going Mamba instead
Having played league start Flicker variants, they're still awful. Just play a normal ass build instead.
Yeah I mean, if you're a flicker lover π
Like me with champ
Though at least I've finally found a build where the answer isn't "wHy NoT sLaYeR iNsTeAd"
lol I understand why I feel the key don't place on the map now. It's floating.
StS2 spoilers but this was some run
Carried by a certain X cost card and some useful necro power
Alright I'm glad they simplified StS1 lol
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHRpS2DzIAI
π€£
Fane there you are. Bro I had such a sick ass run let me link you mine.
@junior oyster That extra energy Relic is just like all upside got a few Clad cards and Defect cards and had a pseudo-infinite because of it.
Nice
Only thing better would probably have been hellraiser xD
I'm still climbing with regent
4 armies of Skaven attacking me, autoresolve would go insanely bad. I load the map and see free win lmao
I love stealing xD
........ Hey linkedin, let me learn unreal engine at first, then let me think what can I sculpt, don't remind me of that until 2028, thanks.
Have been unsubscribe that alert already but it's not worked
Contemplating starting a new Anno 1800 run now that I kinda know how the game works lol
It's really hard to plan ahead when you have no clue what's up ahead, who knew x)
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0898288/?ref_=tt_ov_1_1
Maybe I know who's the 1st film director I like because of their works.
Done 3 of them, the last one is very enjoyable though... Holy, 2h30mins+... 1h43mins I watched
Blade runner good, Arrival idk that
Dune though.. I dont know it's like Hunger games - interesting to watch at start but do i enjoy plot behind this world/lore ? Probably not
Dune was great
I did not enjoy Dune, ngl; excellent presentation, not a fan of the story or characters
big fan of Blade Runner though
Haven't seen any of those ones
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2574970/Crystalfall/
A new loot-based ARPG which doomed by dead server on the first day of ea π
Familiar drama.
Dune is probably the best and most faithful book-to-movie castings in the history of mainstream cinema
Mad respect for Villeneuve
I mean launching EA with very expensive in-game shop is wild
i dont think ive seen an EA game witht hose ratings
overwhelmingly negative ? yeesh
Of course, the item shop prices (~15 USD for a single inventory tab?!)
OOF
oh great, if steam reviews are to be believed they even want to add blockchain
Eversince players noticed that their reviews "somehow" works they started abuse it..
A lot of the times ? Sure, but not this example
probably not, never say so.. What works on poe or similar ones wont work on fresh ones at start.. At least not with bizzare prices
but in case of Crimson desert it was quite annoying to see
2020 called and wants its bubble back

kinda crazy they go for arpgs/mmos now
guess normal mmo combat isnt that popular anymore?
classic tab target just didnt evolve.. while others gernes so-so yes..
but its not reason why mmorpg with themepark design perish and are not popular so much anymore
it's that shift to simplicity, dark patterns abusing, annoying ads in middle of gaming
But mostly pacing of gameplay progression..
So example between Old Maplestory and Current Maplestory (probably biggest one behind Wow (?))
I prefer to pay the game directly instead of free to play but everything need to pay
i wouldnt have problem to pay monthly or every dlc here or there but these days it's not enough (or not enough for company which runs such mmo)
Anyway, gambled like 140 divs in keys
The mageblood was the only good result
Also gave away 60 divs to some random in global who had started his league late
Not on the Steam version of the game, block chain is banned on Steam
thank Gaben fro that
@mental talon finally done with regent and damn was this run good lol
GG
Thankfully
Cheese is the way to win
Next time to run as Necro. Can't lie I'm not the biggest fan of her lol
lol anyways, I can't afford that. Back to days that be interrupt by ads soon
Youtube asked me to stop my ad blocker before. It told me I can't access youtube if I don't allow it to play ads. You never meet this thing?
I did, but ublock bypassed it with a quick adjustment
and google knows it's a losing battle, that's why they wanted to restrict what ublock could do with their chromium update
β My free trial have 5 days left. Let's see will it work. I follow Fane if youtube traced that again
Open the video in private mode
Is this on mobile?
Also make sure to cancel your payment for the free trial if you haven't done so already
And this
After a few days they update ublock which bypasses googles trash
It's a losing battle for us too if firefox dies
Other non-chromium browsers aren't as popular sadly
Also Kirra for mobile if you are on android you can do the same thing with firefox
And for apple I heard it's edge browser with ublock lite or something
I use youtube app on mobile directly, it's why I will attracted by youtube premium... But I don't listen music on mobile now
the audio from laptop is much better than my phone when I want to listen music to sleep
I use youtube on mobile but on firefox
I deleted/uninstalled the youtube app ages ago
No ads
I'm not a genius but as long as it saves you money then I'm happy
I just use Brave browser on mobile for youtube
Also has the nice option to let youtube vids play while the browser isn't the active window
Done blade runner 2049, not sure I understand the story...
A comment I saw:
Three periods everyone will experience.
The first one, believe myself is the genius, I can do everything;
The second one, I'm not the special one, I can't do everything;
The third one, I can't do everything, but I can do my best.
How to connect that with the movie?
Lore of blade runner is more than these movies unfortunetly.. IF you want all dots to join properly i would say you need to search rest
hhhhh...?! Oh man. The beginning of blade runner scared me lol
Raining is the must-do element for cyberpunk scenes?
it's raining again
In cyberpunk as a genre ? no
In cyberpunk in style of Blade Runner ? yes
lol what, I even heard Cantonese in blade runner!?
This movie is quite surreal π€
lol familiar accent.
he thought he was the first synth baby, Harrison Ford's characters son. but he wasn't.
You watch?
I've seen all his movies
Oh. My comment is here.
π€
Not idea what dark fantasy mean for EHG or GGG or any game studios, but it's the term I can think match this scene the most π€
typically it means fantasy with Gothic Horror elements
Getting an MB out of 140d of keys is crazy lucky lol
I got tossed a bunch of Valdos from some friends who've quit so I'll be testing them out
hah blade runner is quite interesting. Watched 58mins so far, first time to persist in watching a 80s movie
hhhhhh I see someone who have much more followers than Otto finally.
These senior guys are insane on connections
Go back to that film director, I like the feature that all deadly moments are quiet.
The death is asphyxial.
π€ Thanks, appreciated that so much.
Make sense on why she's hired by EHG. https://www.artstation.com/camykazee
The answer is around me already...
Everyone must impressed by the gothic carriage she made :)
Gothic architectures... The best architecture type to test skills indeed
Lots of interesting sculpting and complex patterns :P
I heard dark fantasy Orchestral music all the time but I don't know what dark fantasy mean for graphics. Sounds funny.
The more funny thing is I don't feel any flavour about "dark fantasy" in le.
π π π ...
Such a fun night. Done a movie, thought the life, solved a puzzle.
got it by like 30? keys so a bit over 60divs
Still not as good as last league first one I opened
I remember jokingly saying to myself "Maybe it's a MB"
and it was
Man either these scenarios aren't easy or I just still suck at the game (I think it's both)
damn I just barely made it
I barely couldn't make one early on so I couldn't get silver but there was literally no shot in hell I was ever getting gold
Made some awful choices in the scenarios though so I think it'd be a lot easier a second time around
A bit off-topic, just want to say these're quite valuable especially in China because China in 60-70s... Extreme poor so Chinese can't keep so many black-white photos like that
I guess an industry in US & EU is based on these old photos... It's fixing them
This working on sewing machine factories is actual insanity lmao
This guy just lets you skip so much work
Anno doing anno things, but I admit, 1800 went an threw all the interesting mechanics in and went to town with them.
I went back to timberborn for the weekend and I am set on trying to play Oxygen not Included again. Curious if I can beat my ADHD long enough to spend the hundreds of hours planning, plotting, building up, expanding into the liquid hydrogen setup again this life.
Yeah the grand gallery stuff can make some of the early game a joke in comparison to playing without it especially when you're a noob like me lmao, I just did one of the scenarios and unlocked a couple things from it before starting a new run and it's night and day
like for example instead of needing bell peppers, beef and a goulash factory you can replace the goulash with just straight up pigs in the canned food factory
you just skip 3 steps of the chain
and the fact that this guy gives me advanced weapons and steam engines, both things that require extensive production chains and electricity, before I even have engineers is crazy x)
electricity is nowhere in sight lmao
https://www.reddit.com/r/Satisfyingasfuck/s/cF5vUfiWcu
Yiyimamo, yiyimamo, yiyimamo!
Happy moment.
SHEEEEEEEEEEESH
Too bad I got her just as I finished the new world expedition
legit only reason I did it was for cotton
Coconut & matcha ice cream from IKEA is yummy
But it's not half-half, coconut one is much more
Anyways, I know how coconut ice cream taste now
That's what I'm saying man, by the time I got engineers I can make an entire fleet lmao
I have 70 of each 4 hours in
I really love how massively powerful outputs you get once you hit engineers
Really shows how revolutionary industrial revolution was
I have yet to get electricity running lmao
and I have like 3 battleships worth of materials
My drug was replacing all the crappy sailing ships from new world that got raided 24/7 with blimps
they were so fast ahh
I'm not even focusing on it, I have a single factory
and it's just pumping them out
Because it's a 30 second cycle lmao
you dont really need them as much, and tbh that 50% bonus ? You probably want it for bicycles or sewing machines more
I mean I'm just gonna put them all on it
well yeah
once you hit electricity you want all the factories grouped together anyway
so you can boost their production with both the union and the power plant
yep
200% from electricity is giga
I got rekt on oil though
only 4 and no islands with oil that aren't taken as starting by others
so i'll have to import from new world
It's fine though 4 is enough for one plant
I'll just bumrush oil tankers and import
you could always buy the island or introduce them to some freedom
I have like no military because I turned pirates off. I was playing with them on but having them respawn was way too annoying
I really feel like they should let you somehow kill them off for good
yes
like with an expedition or something after defeating them normally
in new world I was just ignoring them with blimps later on
sometimes with battleships I naval blockaded them
but it's annoying
yea but on my first run I was on the north west side of the old world (I hadn't played in years and forgot) so they just pestered the shit outta me and I had to have like 2 ships of the line escort every single trade ship
the anno experience
I got so annoyed I decided to put everything on hold to kill them just to realize they come back and it felt so bad lmao. Like yeah you just park a few ships in their base and it kinda takes care of itself but it just felt so jank and weird having to do that tbh
a bit
So I just decided to turn them off for this one, I don't feel like they provided much honestly
less janky than walling off the wild animal spawns with statues in Pharaoh
at best they were an annoyance
but still quite janky
posed no real danger, I was at war with both of them for like the entire first run and had no issues dealing with them power wise
ye, they don't bring that much to the game
the only good thing about pirates I felt in this game was blimps
because I no longer had to deal with pirates
π€£
Yea exactly
the only good thing about them is getting rid of them lmao
well, they did sometimes drop pretty sick loot ngl
but meh
more like bypass them in this case, but yeah
you just randomly get 20 tons of gold bars from a gunboat
which later on is chump change meh
true dat
was nice when I was trying to make watches tbf
but now I'm op and don't need to make them at all lmao
but then you click on the palace, and see this
+50 bonus income (affects artisan residences and engineer residences in range of connected universities, variety theatres, power plants, and banks;
I also did the seasons of silver scenario which gave me some grand gallery tickets which you can get some insane stuff in
and once you enact it you are swimming in cash
check out this bad boy
yummy
I got him and the actor going from the beginning because they're grand gallery
it's just straight up cheating ngl
This one is arguably the biggest gamechanger though
lets you get to engineers without new world
btw palace has an act that further increases the productivity bonus from power plants
oh lord
Yeah I had just barely gotten to investors in my last run
but it had gotten so messy and weird that I decided to restart because I had learned a lot
yeah, there is a lot of stuff that can be improved once you figure stuff out
I'm basically already most of the way back where I was lmao
but instead of several days it only took like 4 hours
the only annoying thing I find with the new game is well
racing for the new world and cape
because there is that one huge island in the corner, and you really want it
Yeah I already yoinked some good islands in both
but I'm still focusing on old world until I can get steam ships going
then I'll prob focus on expanding cape and new world and just have my old world as support
btw speaking of straight up cheating, hacienda is probably the most gamebreaking DLC for the new world
because you no longer have to import stuff from old world
since I obviously wanna make my main city on cape
I mean there's also docklands
just buy anything lul
you can brew beer from corn using it, and all the farms are 64 tiles
Docklands is strong, but exchange rate makes it somewhat balanced
Idk man you can kinda just brute force it honestly
64 tiles for farms on the other hand is so damn efficient
the worst i've seen is like 12:1 but like it's planks for something crazy at that point
but yeah the fact it's not straight money makes it less crazy
Happy bois
mmm, and once they throw the festivals it's swimming in money
Yeah I kinda got addicted to buying items so I'm selling soap lmao
I almost wanna do anbessa just to do the watch trade
infinite money
if you have "Land of the Lions" DLC watches are so lucrative
yep
although I dislike the DLC itself despite being unique
I haven't really gotten into it tbh
I was too busy with the other regions last run
found quests with finding stuff on the isles annoying, and the mechanic is
I'm not a huge fan of the water mechanic tbh
it's two tiers of citizens, you sleep for the half of the tier 2 of citizens
the fact you can't make fields cross the water lines sucks
you do the quests
ignore the rest of the stuff for citizens, suddenly game slaps you that you need the rest for tier 2 citizens
which is a bit annoying, those chains are a bit complex, but not too bad
and then the game is like congratulations, you've unlocked student exchange
which is like running into a brick wall π€£
I'm about to take 50 steam motors for an expedition fr lmao
I'll just bring them back anyway so it doesn't matter, just funny that i'm carrying a full stack of motors on a clipper x)
which hilariously enough are very helpful in some events
Do you know if you can use fertility items cross region?
I think you cannot
@fierce moth new flavour for me pog
Going to be for tomorrow morning though to late to start on energy drinks today
Have a good viking! (What viking mean?...)
Oh. Congras to you become a viking soon!
I thought hiking
Not that I m a Viking I m actually a Slav but how do u not know what is viking ?
I mean ur guys culture is massive but still .. lol
That's world history
They were the first "tourists" of humans lmao
finally figured out what I did wrong, it looks much better after darkening the whole figurine
That looks great!
thanks, Ive learned a bit about drybrushing when working with it xD
Least annoying oil
We got that one where I live recently too. pretty good
Beer mission time going to try it after breakfast tomorrow
8pm is for calming drinks not caffeine
Imagine having proper zoning
Ublock was great, but recently randomly videos don't start to play for me.
<@&1161418687471956101> spammer
That's a new one lol
Ah, new spam and I missed it? shame
are you a zombie shooter? I would recommend They are Billions
I've played it, great game
My buddy game stream was so rad on TaB.
Somebody on poe forums saying that poe2 should have professions like you have in mmorpgs
What a terrible idea
lmao
What would they even be
crafting could be one, but then what
map runner? x)
trader x)
forced group play
Poe2 should have paragon levels like in d3 but instead of being beneficial they make the game even harder. And you are forced to take the points
He gave examples of: tailor that can only craft certain base items, rune carver, one that would adjust unique modifiers
"ideas may be billions"
oh hell naw
I can't think of other games that have better solution on crafting than le
That kind of shit doesn't work in seasonal game
keep it in mmorpgs
Didn't diablo immorals works like that?
Poe
And I'm going to put down this joint
I've no idea
never played Diablo immoral
DI is laughable tbh. But for a pc port it was enjoyable
I replied that it'd just alienate arpg players & make it into mmorpg
his reply was "That's the point really."
I uhh... think he's gonna be very popular on the forums
Grim dawn is bringing in some improvements to the crafting iirc but not sure if it will make a difference
I just don't want to use an Xbox controller for android
hahahaha
Crafting in grim dawn is ok but honestly it is definitely not deterministic
Anyone remember the last time you made a legendary item in d3? Except for followers trinket
Cube
And expensive too
I'm just glad they gave GD crafting window search bar
holy hell it was a pain before that
Their biggest update since the slice of bread
After losing the lawsuit, it seems that Krafton is no longer appearing as Subnautica 2 devs
Either hiding themselves after the scam attempt or something even bigger happened
great news!
Yeah, I am glad that Subnautica is free
Hyped for it now
for the ones that do not want to click, Krafton was at publishers before
A new survivors like game?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPlHBGYOCfQ
<@&1161418687471956101> this user has been hacked and mass friending people i assume or is a bot based on username
I would also consider @keen plank for this directly.
weigh hey and up she rises
@desert jasper @mental talon it's done at last
2 locks already sacrificed trying to corrupt it, made a temporary ring while I farm for the 3rd
Nice. I have my partial setup ready on the Jugg as well. π€
ended up settling on lv 16 ruthless because I'm tired boss
π
never doing this shit again lmao
Counter point. Do it again next league
wtf is that thing
A couple weeks of headaches
So what do you use it for?
Yeah, I thought that would be the case but wasn't sure
I was thinking of maybe doing a build with that but it seems that it needs way too much
Flicker players also use something very similar but on Anarchic Spiritblade base
If you do, unironically just farm a mirror and mirror one
It would probably be easier
Hah
Yeah it just seems way too high budget build for my liking
I guess you could play Bob with lower budget too, ofc
Yeah, DireGray leaguestarted it afaik
On Necro
And pushed it to a pretty good extent
I just wanted to play a giga version of it and came across Nerotox's video
Yeah
so now that LE league kind of settled in and people had the chance to play, was it good? the reviews are mixed and it would be nice to hear some opinions
posting here since pics are not allowed in general
It's alright nothing groundbreaking no big balance changes
Corruption is fun
Omens are a nice change in the type of content they provide
New pinnacle boss is fun as a mid challenge (need a few more like this)
Overall I am enjoying the league
But the flaws that were there before are still here
Normal omens are disappointing
Balance is somehow even worse this season
Imprint nerf (deletion) made the gearing process way shorter for CoF and it feels bad effectively losing content
Corruption is a W but if we had to lose exalted imprinting for it then it becomes an L in my eyes
Echo chains are easily the best part of the update
I agree with all of this, with one exception: I think normal omens are good from a gameplay perspective, the experience is just.. soured by how horribly unrewarding they are 99% of the time
EHG leaned way too hard on corruption and corrupted items IMO
item crafting is literally one of the selling points of LE, so both nerfing player access to good exalts, and throwing mountains of pre-corrupted garbage at them, just feels bad IMO
Oh yeah I agree that the gameplay is fantastic, it's just ruined by how awful the rewards are
I played a lot of flame reave this season so it was very fun doing the mechanic until I got bored of how unrewarding it was
yeah, like it makes zero sense to design a fun mechanic and then say "by the way, you get nothing useful for doing this, it's not even good for exp/favor grinding"
it doesn't even give favor right? I think I remember seeing that
from what I understand the mobs themselves give zero exp/favor; they just randomly drop EXP tomes instead which give a tiny amount
I think you get a chunk of experience at the end, but it's really pathetic compared to basically any other activity you could do
honestly the game's systems don't fit together properly right now so it's frustrating being a CoF enjoyer
I really hope we get some sort of balance update before season 5
or like, anything that addresses the mountain of player feedback since s4 started
not just more irrelevant bug fixes
they refuse to do mid season changes ever since that stupid poll
and considering they can't stick to a consistent schedule the game is probably stuck with this nonsense for 6 months
I loathe how they add things to the game and then just never touch that thing again until it's time for a complete redesign X years later
it's endemic across literally every system in the game
"oh you aren't happy with the 25 primordial uniques we added? too bad, we're done designing that, no changes until 2036"
yes. it's the worst thing about them as developers. they basically only do wide sweeping changes.
"oh you didn't like the lich rework? shame, we have to go through 10 more seasons before we circle back to lich again"
and it's a pretty big part of why the game won't experience meaningful growth
when your favorite skill or class stays bad for over a year it doesn't make you wanna come back
marksman is a perfect example of this TBH
heartseeker got added, ended up being underwhelming, mastery still sucks; when is it going to get a second pass? who knows!
and if a class rework doesn't hit the mark and sucks it will take another year until they get back to you. look at spellblade this season for example. the changes were mostly bad and all they really did was buff flame reave into being good.
I bet they won't touch the mastery for a long time now
every single season I've been confused where all of their development time is going
"good changes, not very many changes, not sure why this took 8 months"
The idol add-on also seems cool but terrible with how hard it is to find cool stuff or actually influence what you get. Unless I am missing something
you're not missing anything, it's a total RNG fiesta
from what they've said a lot of their dev time is going towards console so we get bad updates until they're done with that and the expansion i guess.
the best way to farm idol altars is the boss, drops 11ish altars per kill
Corruption having so many dud but not really outcomes also takes the fun out. Bricked 3 of my failed egg red rings
still extremely tedious even doing that
as it stands now the game is fun for a week and then I have nothing else to do because imprints are dead
at least poe1 is on the right track rn
if PoE had something like CoF where your stuff was perma SSF / otherwise voided, but you could actually reasonably acquire loot yourself without needing to trade
I'm not sure I would ever play anything else
as-is though, I can't stand trade and essentially retired from PoE as a result
I like both ways really, trade is fine in poe but it's pretty awful in this game and what makes LE special is CoF
I am unironically a D4 enjoyer these days; it has lots of flaws, and build "complexity" is shin-deep at best, but when it comes to just playing the damn game and getting loot, it does a good job of fulfilling that fantasy
well, it did make it feel special at least. the game throws so much loot at you to the point where you cap out your gear easily with no way of getting good exalts anymore. I really don't think they actually tested the imprint change because it makes CoF feel horrible. the sense of progression in this game right now is so off.
high hopes for the expansion in ~2 weeks
I actually like d4. it's like at the bottom of the arpgs I play but I do enjoy the time I spend in the game. it has fast builds and it's casual so it's pretty brain off enjoyment. they need to cook up better seasonal mechanics though.
I have a lot of thoughts on imprints, for the most part I think players should have far more control over what items drop
like extend the concept of blessings giving stuff like "x% increased sceptre drop rate" and apply that to specific affixes, base types, etc
well. if they were gonna delete exalted imprinting we needed more ways to get good exalted items.
as it stands we... have none
it feels like the devs are afraid of players getting gear and progressing too fast
I mean from my experience that already happens
so we just get mountains of completely randomized nonsense, now with a splash of "this item is corrupted and unmodifiable, and also you can't even use it to slam"
fast progression is fine in my opinion as long as the endgame gameplay loop is enjoyable and rewarding
like.. with the LP system they made the gearing process a bit too simple. and now that it's impossible to get 2 t7 affixes you take a t7 and pray for a good corruption.
I agree with that and think they need to do significantly more to make actually using exalted items (not legendaries/uniques) both viable and realistic
as it currently stands, getting a unique with 1LP and slamming a perfect T7 affix on it takes approximately zero time, and has a fairly high return, in terms of how much power you get out of the resulting item slot
for comparison if you were to try and craft an exalted weapon that's better than some theoretical 1LP slammed legendary, it takes multiple orders of magnitude more time and effort
and the result is likely not a significant upgrade, most of the time, unless your crafting RNG is incredible
primordial exalted items are the worst for this; the amount of effort it takes to craft a good one, you could literally find, slam, and equip 1LP legendaries in every other slot on your character
to make exalted items viable they probably need to add more affix slots to items and add way more FP at a baseline? there's also some other things they could do like add ways to upgrade a normal affix into an exalted but then they would have to nerf legendary items by limiting them to 1 exalted affix so that's a bit iffy.
not even addressing actual set items being good, which is a total itemization joke lol
playing a build that uses the set ring is a gearing nightmare
thinking of this build specifically: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PuxRRu7SFs

I haven't even played a rogue this season and I already have all that gear, I could make that exact character without a single item dropping
uber aberroth viable
the new sets are completely absurd tbh
they took it personally that people kept calling sets trash ig
I am playing shurikens and thought about farming for it but it seems like a big hassle
Kuzon's Guise cracks me up
Oh nvm it was the other one with way more sets used
zero downsides, it's got health, resistances, endurance, flat damage, +4 skill ranks, blind on hit, flat damage, flat armor
like someone just made a checklist for all the things you could possibly want on a helmet and said yes to everything
Damn yeah I don't think I've found the helmet before hiding sets that one is dope
which tbh makes sense when you have to compete with legendaries for the slot
shouldn't reforged set items be doing that..?
rune of corruption treats turning a regular set item into a reforged set item as a positive outcome, which to me suggests it's intended for reforged set items to be better than normal ones, proportional to the increased difficulty in crafting/acquiring them
on paper yes, but clearly reforging did not work out
I think it worked fine, they just made some of the regular set items insanely overtuned this patch
intentions behind the systems are good, but how they work in practice ehhhh
I agree that LP1 legendaries are the issue here
Street fighter movie

Honestly I'm intrigued
Doesn't look bad at all pausechamp
Next era it is, I heard they nerfed my beloved SSF anyway, π
Yeah SSF feels a bit bad right now
Hey everyone! sharing a recent illustration i worked on
This piece focuses on a comic style fight scene capturing the exact moment before impact between two characters
In the background a single dragonβs eye watches in silence adding tension and hinting at a larger story behind the scene
Iβd appreciate any feedback or thoughts on it π
Just gonna leave this here for anyone interested
yoooooo NEW METRO? Hype
Looks so good too
Ohh thatβs an amazing trailer!
the only times iβve felt ssf was more fun than trade was last epoch and diablo 4
at least it looks like same team so hope they wont rush it Metro is same as Stalker series - gold one
and mainly i hope it wont be in UE 5
still stinks how CD gave up on their engine..
East proves that if you are willing you dont need stupid standards of engines to pull decent graphic output and perfomance
I don't think I've ever traded in d4 lol
I like the game as ssf tho
It's not that hard to get the gear you need so trade seems unnecessary
D3 has conditioned me into thinking almost nothing is tradeable lol
exactly
I'm actually pretty hype for the expansion
I've bought it but hoping we finally get to fight/join mephi
I dunno if I'll be done with TLI by the time it comes out tho
My main issue with D4 is the seasonal mechanics tend to be pretty boring, the game is fun overall
what happened while I just looked away?
I've been playing windrose for a bit ngl I recommend the game to anyone who likes the pirate vibes
we like keeping the people who like this game away from the ones with intellect remaining
Toxic positivity ruins games, gtfo
hopefully SSF will be buffed in 2027 when next era comes or something
it was fun and since using market is a chore, the only viable way to play for some people, actually they confirmed they will change factions in season 5 in one of the posts on Reddit when someone made a script for SSF
checking the reddit is a bit of disheartening, most posts have 50 likes at most, aside the ultra popular ones that either bash the game or a patch notes, feels a bit empty
Season 5? Only took them this long to finally make some changes to the factions...
This was season 4, so yeah, next season it is
Hopefully they're actually substantial buffs
Any imprint changes won't come until next season too IF it happens at all
So I guess this season is done for me
It's kind of hard to search for their communication as their posts are hidden in small posts like that
I wish we could track their comments much easier
A lot of their communication only comes from Mike's streams tbh
They gonna fix their communication, unless you are glued to their reddit or streams you will miss out on things people are always complaining about
Like, if it wasn't for digging in that 70 upvotes post. I would have no idea a rework is coming for factions
And the average casual guy will not digbthst information
well they are on the clock, I think with the current trend the game has maybe a year tops
If the console launch/expansion isn't amazing they're probably gonna EoS
so one more patch

Two and a half weeks and LE has worse retention than Hero Siege
lmfao
You guys have retention?
Meanwhile me still grinding currency in PoE 5 weeks in
I'm gettin myself pretty geared in HS, but oh so much more work to be done
Arcane caster go brrrrrr
did a bit of profit crafting, certainly looks like profit, hope it sells
Literally me.
I now understand why you do it
Profit crafting really is a cheatcode when you consider that you usally spend like 1/10-1/4th to make the item and just get to charge LMAO prices.
just needs a starting kitty
45ish D to craft and I made profit before even selling this because I 50/50ed for correct ILVL on original base. It really is free money.
holy
I had a dream last night where I was playing Kinetic Blast
Time to make the dream come true
Nah, don't feel like it
I just hope somebody buys my shit so I can afford another lock and hopefully call it for the league
Lol echoing nightmares return in d4 xD
Because I kinda don't wanna farm another 200div lol
Honestly I haven't kept up with what's in d4
I'm also not a fan of giving money to blizzard
near my birthday apparently
What's this
Trails in the sky 2nd chapter remake
I forgot to mention the game lol
Oh I guess Kirra left again
Ahhh
Damn right
Where Superman
she did, yes
So apparently my brother's cat learned a new "cool" trick
He empties his entire bowl and then jumps on top of his scratching post
And vomits on the floor
sounds orange
He's very much not orange
grey, one of them maine cats that you can't say the full name of here because 2nd part being filtered
A really wonderful cat tbh
Ah yeah. The big fellas. My two lovely rats are part them. They're not too bright.
They're adorable
But man, are they dumb as bricks sometimes
I did have to clean up after him
On the last episode of Fallout S2 and now I'm inclined to play NV again
Damn
The comments are brutal π

not really fanart so I put it here in the off-topic
Again, is that your youtube?

not the first time either

Hmm how goes pragmata if somebody is playing ? I'm more interested about performance stability since i dont have top HW
I know it's nothing to go by (everyone has their own personal preference) but the reviews for the game is currently overwhelmingly positive
Unfortunately similar to the RE games I have no interest in this game but it's kind of rare for me to see an overwhelmingly positive and not buy it (a game or genre I'm interested in that is)
In today's episode of "seemingly mid or whatever games that are actually really fun" I submit: TMNT Splintered Fate
If you get it on sale I highly recommend for some simple roguelite fun
The writing and quips are really on point for the franchise, roster is nice and diverse, roguelite formula is competently executed
It's no Hades or I guess StS2 but it's fun
TMNT has a very weirdly high hit rate on their games
TMNT vampire survivor clone when
I have an unusual hate for TMNT ever since magic in it's infinite cringe decided it's a good IP for crossover set
I have no idea about that, I don't play card games
this one I just saw on sale a while ago and picked it up on a whim
man Sifu on sale on Steam for just $11
wondering if I should buy it. I really sucked at it on PS though
it's fun but SO HARD
Trash tier take, phenomenal set. And yes I am in fact pro-crossover sets, have been since before they existed. It's a game and it adds fun and flavor.
x)
Pragmata has been FLOODING my Threads feed...
Guess I'll have to tighten my filters again.
I like when games have crossovers. Even if minor. Like palworld x terraria
Same with media
Love the dc x sonic crossover xd
Keeping aside the drama, anyone here tried Project Gorgon?
Haven't even heard of it
my favorite crossovers used to be that old hour-long Scooby Do show that brought in new IPs every week
iirc it had Batman and Robin, a basketball team (idr which), and a bunch more
used to love that shit lmao
@mental talon I forgot to look at the counter lol
28.5% is criminal tbh
but kind of expected, incredibly long game with rather niche target audience given hardcore mechanics
Eh what hardcore mechanics? Unless you're playing on hardcore mode it has pretty much every modern QoL
If you mean the combat then like I still have yet to reliably do a combo rofl
Like I know a few but I only do them for style points
Sleeping, Eating, Drinking, not saving outside of consumables and beds, starting butt naked in a hostile world
I know it's streamlined, but if the bar of average RPG is at Skyrim, and it is
it's quite above that
You can sleep pretty much anywhere, food is pretty much thrown at you wherever you are, there's no thirst meter, the only one I see is the saving but like you save on exit and saviour schnapps is pretty common in the world even if you don't brew it which is also super easy. Like yeah it's not Skyrim but on a scale from 1 to 10 it's like a 3 at most imo
I feel like the length of the game is probably what gets most people
I took a break towards the end myself
definitely
Ended up taking me 125 hours of playtime, so prob around 110 or so of actual gameplay because I have a bad habit of just leaving my pc with a game running lul
which is insanely long, not by epic story driven RPGs standard, but rather by average single player game
And I did a good amount of side quests and a lot of the dlc too
Yeah for sure
I feel like if you purely went for main quests you can get it done in under 50 hours at the same pace I play at
But obviously you shouldn't
although if we talk those huge RPGs it's quite long, probably an 8/10 on a scale
Witcher 3 took me a lot longer yeah
my longest game was likely Wrath of the Righteous ?
But I played that on the hardest difficulty but I didn't play kcd2 on hardcore so it's a bit unfair imo
I finished the game once, and got to act 3 (which is the longest) out 5 twice
it took me a while, my first playthrough was something like 140 hours
Witcher 3's hardest difficulty is just straight up bs basically where everything perma oneshots you forever no matter what and even a dog takes several swings at max level
They just scaled enemy hp and damage to the moon
yesn't
base game is super easy, hearts of stone is like you are saying, then blood and wine is somehow as it's supposed to feel like
I also think I just straight up broke the Ng+ by being over leveled or something. I remember reading it was just straight up bugged back then and I never bothered revisiting
Since it sets the level 1 enemies to your current level
If you were too high level something just broke and you were permanently weak af
But Wrath of the Rigtheous definitely was the longest RPG I've played, at least it felt like it. There is a scene in which you save the city and beat up the BBEG. Somewhere around idk 15-20 hours in ? Normal game would roll credits at this point
IN THIS GAME YOU'VE BEATEN ACT 1, THE INTRODUCTION
Lol
THE EXTENDED TUTORIAL
DoS2 also took me over 100 hours iirc
oh yeah, it's long as well
Cyberpunk took a little under 100 on the first playthrough when it first came out and a little over 100 on my second playthrough last year with the dlc
but WotR took it to eleven, for some reason devs decided that 100+ hours RPG is not long enough, so they've decided to add replayability in mythic paths having different story bits and exclusive story content related to them, like afaik additional act for one of them
story relevancy wise it's like 6 of them
I have kingmaker but never did a playthrough
Kingmaker is a gigantic game, WotR is somehow much bigger, titanic even
WotR character creation screen had me like
because there are 38 classes including 13 presitge ones, and they are broken into about 4 subclasses each
Yeah I don't love it when games overload you from the getgo tbh
I'd rather it branch out after you get your footing
hilariously enough builds do branch out at certain points
Spending an hour making a character with 100 choices when you don't know what you're doing ain't it lul
Kinda what I really like about stoneshard, at the start all you do is pick a character (soon you'll be able to create one) where the only difference is a handful of pre-allocated stat points and a trait
As well as starting skill trees but you don't actually get any skills in them. You just start with 2 skill points to freely allocate
Although I wish Stoneshard had a respec, given how hard to grasp the power of the skills is
I could see it for new players but honestly I think it would make the game worse in the long run because I'd hate to see "leveling" setups
I don't think it should have a traditional respec with gold at NPC or any time, but rather a rare potion
Which would 100000% become a thing if they added Respec
Tbh maybe just make it a thing in softcore and have it not be in hardcore
maybe
I'd be down for that
I play perma anyway nowadays so it wouldn't really affect me that way
yeah, that's fair
It's one of the few games I play perma in
I cant remember much of this game because its been so long but I do remember I had the most fun playing this game on death march
you definitely did, because the base game is easy even on Death March unless you want to fist fight with someone with signs or potions build
Yeah the first playthrough was pretty great. Feeling the need to prepare oils and bombs for certain enemies was great compared to normal difficulties where you just spam attack
But when Ng+ first came out they messed up the level scaling or something iirc. I think they fixed it a while later but I never went back to it
And that's what I really loved about Witcher 1, and I'm upset about CDPR slightly streamlining it
I was also playing for the achievement where u had to apply bleed + burn + poison on the enemy, so i made a build revolving that. It was so fun that i just stuck with it throughout the game π
Oils and Potions there felt mandatory, as well as research
Like instead of being similar difficulty to normal death march is you were really leveled Ng+ death march was legit near impossible. I remember I was stuck at the dogs are the literal very beginning of the game for like an hour
One bite and you're oneshot and each one took like 20 hits at least
I hate that kind of difficulty tbh
Yeah it was just way too far lol
And sadly most games are like that.
Oh we just turn enemies into bullet sponges and make them one shot you
And then there's durability
And it never got better because at that point you don't level fast enough to keep up either
I really like that Larian spiced it up with tactician and honour
So you literally quen, get a few hits off. Maybe a pixel worth of hp, and then quen and repeat
Even though I think BG3 on honour is sliiiightly too easy, but it can be modded
Like legit if my quen went off I had to just run around until it was back up
you are triggering my Witcher 2 trauma lmao
Yeah that would break the immersion
I wonder if my save is still bricked if I load it up now or if the fix is retroactive
good question
It was hilariously broken
Didn't they change everything with new gen update? Armours and signs and stuff?
Classic cdpr launch jank tbh
I don't remember it was ages ago I played it
If you have not played BG3 on honour, the major change is that bosses have special reactions now. For example one boss with additional enemies have a reaction that paralyses you and deals a lot of damage until you remove it with fire if you dare to attack the extra mobs
Or another boss, well there is two of them now
Don't get me wrong btw I loved the game. The Ng+ thing is a bummer but I had a great time with it and did basically all the content there was to be done before starting Ng+
Same. I love the game as well but then I get to skellige and see all those poi's on the map and immediately lose interest
me and every Ubisoft or Sony game
Yeah I think kcd2 does a way better job at that stuff
You get random encounters and stuff instead of having minor pois everywhere
Makes it way more dynamic
I'd say that KCD2 is the first game I loved exploring the game world of since Skyrim, but alas Elden Ring came in between
I love Witcher 3, but open world there is just okay
There's a lot of dope stuff coming this year that I'm looking forward to tbh
Major update for stoneshard, 2 new dlc for frostpunk2, Anno 117 starting to shape up, graveyard keeper 2 and some other things
I was pondering what to do, because I've gotten to practically endgame in Windrose. Im close to being done with the game, but I crave more pirates.
Well RGG heard my pleas it seems, Pirate Yakuza from Hawaii is 70% off π
new games wise I just hope IOI delivers on Bond
Aaand then I get this run lol

finally done
what a league it's been
Aside from getting scammed I can't wait

So are you going to eat those eggs?
Damn housing a whole ducking family
We don't know how old they are, so no
We might get ducklings
We'll see if they hatch
Ah, good luck
F U Prime video for giving spoilers for Invincible s4...
Honestly I don't know too much about the story behind Coyote vs ACME but from the trailer it feels like the tom and jerry movie but better
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-43VeYGiPM
First broken run I've had in a while (StS2)
back to drawing
Ok Bliz cooked with this opening to LoH
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3t1WJsFXY-8
Now I'm as hyped as ever for the next story
idk if I want to hop into D4 expansion rn
but I'm definitely infinitely more hyped for LoH than I was for VoH
It depends whether you want to play the game for the gameplay or for the cinematics lol
For me it's more cinematics but I can also experience the little (or a lot) changes
Anyone (myself included) who bought VoH got scammed
I will be more cautious next time
How did I get scammed, I got what I purchased
The current LoH package includes VoH for the same price as VoH
No discount for VoH purchasers so
Yes that is pretty common to be welcoming to new people
Why should you get a discount you had the expansion since you bought it
Β―_(γ)_/Β―
bit of both, I'm just fatigued with aRPGs
End of May
Wait til he learns how MMO expansions work
considering how monetised D4 is, getting VoH expansion with LoH is surprisingly consumer friendly
tbh if not for that deal I'd never buy D4
itβs not rly all that heavily monetized
It really isn't. Cosmetics, a battle pass that nearly funds itself, and expansions roughly once a year. That's pretty standard. Arguably less monetized than PoE (and yes I would in fact be the one to argue this). Most MMOs are even more heavily monetized than it, and I can think of several other live service games that are egregiously more than it.
yeah
Good news. I don't play mmos π€£
Neither do I, but it's still pretty newcomer friendly like this. You can now just skip an expansion and not have to buy 2 or if you like what you see just play directly
I'd have expected blizzard to be more greedy
Just wish I never bought VoH is all
I can't see it as anything else other than a scummy tactic by bliz
Also like I said yesterday I'll be more careful. Wait for release and make sure it isn't a half expansion or something π
For future expansions I mean (assuming d5 isn't out by then)
you should play black desert online
why not lost ark when it's aRPG channel ?
I mean if one wants to torture oneself ofc
No mmos. Period. Lol
The closest I can accept to playing mmos is poe and d4
man I should have bought Ravenswatch sooner
such a beautiful game
it's kicking my ass up my ears though
i would never genuinely recommend black desert online to someone
I feel like if I HAD to play an MMO, it would be GW2 or Warframe
warframe isnβt an mmo
idk what it is but it sure felt like it when I played it last lol
Isn't it kinda like poe?
I have been told from long-time players that even they don't know wtf Warframe is, except fun

warframe tried to implement raids and they were so un-fun they got removed from the game entirely.
quite a while ago now
i like their gameplay loop but everything outside of it like progression is just too annoying
So like poe then
I enjoyed it a lot when I played it last but it got a little too overwhelming and grindy for me so I kind of lost interest I guess
but man the space ninja shit is peak
they really nailed that
isn't progression a part of gameplay loop
Depends, personally not - gameplay is everything i do during handling my char, the rest feels like excel work and waiting so i'd not classify it as gameplay
interesting way of looking at it, since both are inextricably linked
yeah thats why i just quit it, too much busywork for the fun i get out of it
you had me ngl lmao
Warframe is Destiny 2, but fun
New poe2 league starting May 29 π€
but seriously, Warframe is basically third person shooter aRPG
It's as much of an mmo as Diablo 4 is an mmo basically
bro this has me SO hyped that I'm having to dial back my hype meter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eRLZVFWvtk
pleasebegoodpleasebegoodpleasebegoodpleasebegoodpleasebegoodpleasebegood
I know it's the servers policy, but YT video link without the preview is spooking me
aye
(WolfheartFPS's review and overview of The Expanse: Osiris Reborn closed beta gameplay)
oh that game
because it's a shit policy
this server has the actual WORST censoring I have ever seen on the internet, it is actually insane.
The Owlcat Mass Effect ? As opposed to the WotC Mass Effect ?
I keep confusing the two
correct
Is it possible to allow inbeds for some links but not others? If so I'd bring it up
hopefully it's good, both of those games in fact
Owlcat are a supremely underrated studio IMO
Rogue Trader is peak so far
and everything I've seen of Dark Heresy is peak-er
unless you like rogue trader, then you might be a bit upset
Because it's really fun, but plays nothing like tabletop rogue trader
and given that this is their literal first foray into 3rd person shooter from isometric, the gameplay looks incredibly polished
yeah I mean I do not give a shit.
tbf I would not recommend that game if it was still the year after it relased
trying to literally translate tabletop gaming into PC gaming is a fool's errand in 99% of cases and I'm glad they didn't even bother
so in 2023-2024, rn it's great
But I dare to say Wrath of the Righteous was still their best game
pretty sure destiny 2 is destiny 2 but fun actually
I've heard good things about the Pathfinder games but was never particularly drawn to them
more power to you, it was sarcastically speaking
or ironically
sarcasm is for fools and hussars
true
I couldn't get into them honestly. Tbh seems to be a general thing for me with DND type games turned video games
What IMO is a downgrade in RT from WOTR is the maps and encounter design
Like while baldurs gate 3 is amazing I much prefer DoS2 combat
By encounter design I mean how terrain affects your tactics
I have both, have to play both xdd
DoS2 is for sure in my top 20 of all time
BG3 I started and REALLY liked but it's just such a commitment that I kept bouncing off for one reason or another
The other way around for me, but that's thanks to the armor system in DOS2 which I really hate
i donβt think larian has ever made a good adaptation iβll be real
soonβ’ though
of any system
nah, BG3 is a pretty damn good adaptation of 5e
that is certainly a take of all time but you're entitled to your opinion
if we ignore that bg3 is a bad game ig sure
Solasta might have been more faithful mechanically, but BG3 captured the spirit of the system the best
LMAO
Yeah I wasn't a massive fan of it either but it was somewhat mitigated by me playing lone wolf and obliterating the enemies armour right away lmao
Was happy to hear they're not using it for the new divinity though
That's not exactly the issue I have with it, the problem I have with it you want to go for the full magical or physical damage
Mixing the two feels awful
Also polymorph IMHO is broken, and should not be a thing.
Apotheosis and Skin Graft are so good they should be in every signle build
bg3 is an unfinished underwhelming mess that pads itself with unnecessary things to pretend that itβs a big game while offering little of substance
I think if you powergame an RPG (and there's nothing wrong with doing so tbf), you are playing in an "unintended" way and that can and will warp your perception and experience
a lot like expedition 33 actually
like I played ye olde Icewind Dale 2 both normal and powergamed and my experience of it was so vastly different in both cases that I may as well have played a different game
That's a bit of a problem with RT
massive problem in fact
game is balanced like Heroes of Might and Magic 3, as in not at all
Your broken bs fights the opponent's broken bs
I like bg3 but I prefer DoS2
Being able to play as an undead skeleton beats playing as an undead zombie
lukewarm take perhaps but that's not a problem IMO. A single player isometric RPG doesn't need to struggle hard to be "balanced" because that's not the purpose of its existence
It is not, but Owlcat's games are very much the powergamer's dream
like hey look I gave my character 100 AC by creating some freakish mutant hybrid and the unlikeliest combination of race and class possible that can never exist in the world and now I'm immortal
ok, good for you
but the fact that you can also find your fun by creating a true-to-world character whose background and choices you have carefully curated (and still beat the game) is what the appeal of such games is IMO
mmm with WotR absolutely, RT IMO is best experienced as stereotypical rogue trader
yeah I can see that, I'm in chapter 1 and the Sister of Battle is already going insane
complete murderbot of a woman
oh she could have solo'd the entire game with her bolter before
now I believe she is not that good ?
ditto here, if what she does is not that good, I struggle to comprehend what's great
Actually half true, I've seen what Kibellah can do
which IMO makes the game way more fun, I've tried WOTR on higher difficulties (I think on the one mode between the highest level and core) and it was
well guides taught me lot
mostly how much of a broken mess the game is
Companions ? Man, they are not viable for the highest diffiulty level at all but some can be salvaged.
You want a tank ? You want to make your sword and board paladin companion a tank ? Great, she cannot tank. In fact tanks don't tank in this game on their own. You take level in monk, you grab a horse. You increase the int of the horse, teach it kung fu
That's not what I did though. Lone wolf is a perk in the game that basically giga buffs one character when they're not in a party. So because I was so strong I was able to get through enemies armour within one turn and cc them while normally that might take several characters turns in a party. But then I had to deal with the fact that I was likely surrounded by a bunch of other enemies that are about to dog pile me lul
At first it's dangerous, later on welp
A caster can wipe the floor with them
Ranger for single target, and Caster for everything else. I've seen Doctor folding on tactician in one turn
But for AoE basically you pop the AP cost reduction consumables, especially white tea in last act of the game. You pop the aphoteosis which increases the stats, but more importantly for 3 source points removes the source point cost for the duration
You spam every single 2-3 source point spells in the game, pop the skin graft, reset the cooldown and do it again
Yep I went with a 2h melee character and was able to kill pretty much any enemy in one turn and then camo or do something else to basically negate everyone else's turn by the end
Also I feel like DoS2 very much encourages insane combo's / "game breaking" stuff. It's extremely open ended and just gives you a bunch of toys to play around with
true, BG3 is definitely harder to break
Outside of barrelmancy ofc
That always worked in Larian games sicne DOS
Honestly the d4 changes look kinda cool
So warlock stole DH's mana orb lool
They brought level 70 back. This is d3 again xD
Pathfinding noice
Will help in the new campaign
I hope in a good way xD

What was on that jewel?
and then I just hit THIS in ONE tailoring orb...
