the +4 from Fireflower makes up for the +1 ballista loss while being more mana efficient, and I gain max rage because I take fire damage when I ignite something, and I run Berserk for like 60% inc rage effect

3 more levels gets me another +12 rage or 19% more damage

I tried to use Blood of the Warrior to perma sustain that Rage but uhhh yeah it's very sketch when your life flask is your ONLY real method of recovery and you start using one that gives you like 10 life per second

Ok it might be confusing but bear with me. I started with an Exceptional Base that has 2 sockets. I Perfect Transmuted + Perfect Auged until I got the T1 %ES and a desirable tier on a Resistance. The next step is to use an Essence to add another desirable Resistance and make the item Rare. After that you Desecrate Suffix to have 4 mods. I Fractured to give myself a checkpoint with the hope that I hit one of the two Resistance and since I can't hit the Veiled mod it's a 66% chance to win (hit 1 of the 2 Resistance) by hitting a Resistance I guarantee the important parts of the craft later. With my current ES because Hybrid ES doesn't have a Defence tag for whatever reason I'm guaranteed to hit Flat ES T1 on a Perfect Exalted Orb + Omen of H-genous Exaltation. From there I use the Omen of Sinistral Essence to remove a random suffix and add a Prefix with Horror for 30% MS. Now it doesn't matter if my Resistance or Desecrated Mod is removed but my Prefixes are done. From there I do the same thing with Omen of Sinistral Essence and Hysteria to add 100% Socketed Effect and Desecrate my final Resistance and I've got a 30% Move speed 2xT1 ES good double Resistance +100%Socketed Effect boots

Big ass wall of text to say it's basically a guaranteed craft with multiple stop gaps and it's relatively cheap to do for perfect boots

Gloves: T1 armor, high life, high crit damage bonus, at least T3 fire or lightning res, fill for last two slots (so ideally armor to ele suff and another armor pref).

Spirit is definitely an xdd angle. But Thorns shouldn't be hard to start with from a Normal/Magic base. If you have a start with Physical Thorns + Life Regen Suffix, you can Essence a Res to make Rare, force Life Mod with Prefix Omen - H-genous Exalt and at least Greater. If you hit Hybrid Life because it has Life/Def. You can Omen off the Regen and force Crit Bonus and Suffix Desecrate and try to block Bleed Regen. From there any Suffix H-genous Slam will guarantee Armor applies to Ele and any Prefix slam will be Life or Armor. Change Desecrate mod as you see fit

But I think avoiding the damage is just the dodge roll iframes itself

I pretty much forever have always played a Slam Build or Boneshatter. Like Boneshatter legit might be my favorite skill in POE 1 history (I won't talk about the state it is in now) but Earthshatter, EQ, Vaal Ground Slam my Beloved are all personal favorites of mine. In POE 1 even if I dont start Slams Im definitely going to make one that league xdd. This love goes back all the way to like being a kid with Diablo, I just absolutely love Melee and will always find a way to play some Melee build.

Both are great tbh, Arc clearing is ridiculous with all the chains it really makes content like breach and abyss a cakewalk. I think the bossing is good too it just has damage spikes when you have infusions vs when you don't. Spark with the new projectile support is kinda bonkers. That + Widowhail + a good quiver = giga dps and speed.

I'm just not fond of the remnant playstyle they're pushing certain builds into. It's clunky and awkward. But the payoff with infusions is at least good.

The main problem with spells imo is they feel super weak early. But I guess you can say that about most build archetypes in the game

GGG cannot design a good pinnacle fight to save their lives IMO
