What's keeping me away right now is the afformentioned terrible balance. Slower gameplay sounds nice to me, though not necessarily what I'm wanting. (First step in preparing for emergent gameplay choice, but not choice in and of itself).
One of the largest reasons I hated 1 was because of how you kinda just had to have a build in order to participate with anything lategame, I have never followed a build in LE and I'm still pushing high corruption anyway and I love LE for it.
I don't want to make an investment into a different game only to discover if just does everything LE fails at anyway, but also fails at the things LE does well.

I personally said to hell with combos and I just chuck my spears for clear and my other spears for single target, but I know slammers last patch were pretty varied (ignoring their bad survival at the time and that nearly every skill sucks atm). Just... gotta hope they actually balance things.
What do you mean by "combo"?
Is that like,
Use buff spell
Use debuff attack
Use primary attack?
Cause I still consider that one "move", there's no decision making process.
It means use one skill to do something, then use another to exploit that something.
mobbing vs single target is something LE already does afaik, I just find that once you get a good enough single target move you don't actually need the mobbing one.
Whether that something be Freeze, Armor Break, Electrocute, Pin, whatever.
A decent chunk of skills have various interactions with each other. Gas skills can be exploded with fire skills. Lightning skills can chain to rods. Slams can create aftershocks to be popped with other slams. Ice walls and crystals can be exploded with physical hits or fire hits. Etc etc. It's just poor number balancing is holding everything back rn.
I see, okay. That's promising to me, because it actually has consequences beyond being dumbed down into +damage like LE falls into.
I consider this entire design poor, really.
I personally find it very cool so long as it isn't the only way to play
It's not really good, though.
With how this is described I worry it could just mean you're only allowed to use certain skills with a different skill that can redeem/give the required condition first.
Well, given that the Vision says it's going to be, and any deviation is at best a concession by the Vision...
So like, even less player choice, but on the building side too
That is, effectively, how it works.
Sometimes feels that way yeah. Some skills have several ways they can hit those triggers, some have like... 2.
I'm coping that they add more interactions as more skills enter the game.
Yeah, that's fair. I guess if you balanced ones with several, it'd feel good enough.
I was thinking of making a freeze/ignite build in LE, cause it'd involve a semblance of decision making. Get big potential damage out, then delay until they die, but DoT does damage so fast in LE it's basically just a different flavour of hit....
Full disclosure: At this point, I would say that I am heavily biased against GGG.
I'm overdosing on copium for traps in particular lol
A good Shadow implementation is the only thing that could pull me back at this point.
Infinitely scaling DoTs, yes, they can kinda feel like that.
PoE and LE have fundamentally opposite views on how DoTs work.
Traps/mines and daggers will be good, trust... or my heart will be extremely broken.
They'd have to be about 3 times better than anything in the current game for me to care. (Talking about power level in general... everything could be 3 times better and that'd be fine.)
Yeah I hear ya on that front for sure
Given the combo play style, it's most likely that they would make mines rather than traps, with the whole detonation mechanic.
They have stuff in the data for both atm
I'm aware.
the old runemaster concept...
They're... funky looking
I'm not really against them, I'm just confused by them
as much as I find runic invocation cool, the idea of buffing minions dynamically and traps seemed cool
Can you guess what things have disappointed me the most in LE's history? ๐ซ
it just makes me want to play magicka, or nine the phantom in blazblue
Effectively requiring you to control terrain to place traps...
Sorry, connectivity issues.
Wdym there's so many useful Runic Invocations. <Insert Clueless Emoji>
Original Resistance design?
really tho, runic invocation is just a really big unbalanced skill specialization list, with an annoying tax on being able to use it
CFC and... CFC... and CFC
I thankfully wasn't around for that
can you share what it was?
It actually wasn't terrible... just very unintuitive for most players.
OG, Your resistance was a flat number.
I wish they stuck with the original resistance design. That's my hot take.
When you took damage the resistance applied to, it would add up your life and your resistance number, find the fraction that was your life, and that fraction was the % of damage you took.
No, the answers are poison getting dumpstered with 0.9, Runemaster concept getting completely changed, and then Explosive Trap coming out and getting me all excited only to be a horrible skill on its own.
what's the actual tangible difference between sorcerer and runemaster...
Example: If you had 100 Life and 50 Void Resistance, you would have effectively 33% resistance against Void damage.
huh..
the only thing that keeps me from losing my mind about runemaster is how warlock made lich even more pointless
If you had 2000 life and 1000 Void Resistance, same thing.
yeah that's really interesting
so it's always just as effective, not basically multiplicative with your hp bar
RM was Sorc but OP, and then RM got nerfed and Sorc got buffed so they swapped places for a bit, now they're both fine really. Barring some builds.
the current system always bothered me, resistances are just a tax
The main 'perverse incentive' was that people would stack resistance instead of life, and get very high resistances with comparatively little investment, thus negating the main drawback of a small health pool.
ye, but my point is they are conceptually the same. really it's just about if you want to have to deal with runic invocation or not
That's their intended function: to strain the affix slots on your gear.
ye, it's not awful. naturally tankier classes like paladin can spend their suffixes more liberally
Conceptually, they're not at all the same, I would say. Sorcerer is meant to be the big mana Mastery, while Runemaster is about... well, Runes.
runemaster is about being hamfisted into using one skill in particular /s
...how is that different than sorcerer
How is a VK that's not doing Erasing Strike different from a Paladin?
It's the same question.
The base effect of the Masteries and the Passives beyond the chain of those Masteries.
void damage, vitality focus, echos..
Sure... though you CAN play a Paladin that does Void damage. Runemaster has effects beyond just Runic Invocation.
what tho
FrozenSentinel's build, e.g., cannot be done on a Sorcerer, because it's specifically a Brand of Deception build.
Also, I think Runemaster does Int-stacking a lot better than the Sorcerer, or at least has better support for it, but I may be misremembering.
iunno. I see both of them and see "sling spells at enemies down range" sorcerer can do dot as well, maybe not minmaxxed exactly as effectively, but they have black hole and chronomancy, so i don't think dot is something that i'd say runemaster specializes in more than any other class
compare that to spellblade, who does melee, and I see a tangible difference.
Spellblade is an aberration, IMO. It's a really bad idea to make a gameplay style locked to one Mastery that is so different from the other Masteries that the ability of the other Trees to support that style is seriously constrained.
Okay, i can understand that
If spellblade was just another version of sling spells down range, i wouldn't have a problem.
and ye if we werent initially under the impression runemaster would be another entirely different playstyle than the other 2
I think sorc makes for a better defensive build with mana stacking and mana shield
my points is we are here arguing and splitting hairs over what they do better. what makes other masteries unique is immediately obvious at first glance usually
...except lich
To me, Sorcerer and Runemaster's differences are immediately obvious.
lich needs a rework
Lich has several niches in the design. They just aren't well-implemented, and they are the focus of S3, as I recall.
yea, i'm not gonna go into lich hate cause i don't think anyone thinks they are in a good place right now, and are next on the chopping block
But, to be clear, Lich's niche is meant to be leeching, melee, and (to a lesser extent) direct damage.
that's an exaggeration, i'm sure someone likes them
ye, lich is clear to me, just in practice they don't perform
The lich skill is so focused on the reap skill as a finisher, even though it feels better as an initiation.
and health shenanigans
I will say that I wish Runemaster was less tied to Runic Invocation. I can agree with that.
but iunno if that's even anywhere anymore
Yeah, 'health manipulation' is actually the niche, not Leech... just Leech is an example of it.
I feel like the rune gimmick should've been their passive, instead of the world's lamest passive (though I'd love to hear if I'm wrong)
and then runic invocation is just one thing you could do with it
I really like runic invocation though, if you pull off support for it then you might need to move it off the mastery skill
Sort of... like, imagine if every Runemaster skill interacted with Runes directly. It would be interesting.
Their Mastery bonus is... cast speed, IIRC?
10% elemental cast speed, 30% increased elemental damage
it's... relevant i guess
not exactly build shifting
Cast speed is nice.
But yes, very boring. Which is odd, because VK and Paladin have now both changed to be less boring.
The Chad Forgeguard with their 35% phys and fire res and a stacking buff relying on getting hit repeatedly
That stacking buff is legit, though, and communicates well the focus of the Mastery.
I think most of the design space is in runic invocation, it's not boring because of that, but If you don't want to use it then yeah...
I am filled with spite at runic invocation. It's so close to being what I want out of an ARPG character, but in practice not quite
I want to be able to use a wide variety of invocations, not specialize into at most 3
I want magicka
Oh don't get me wrong. I adore FG, I've done stupid amounts of cooking with it. It's also just a kinda goofy buff conceptually.
I don't find it goofy at all.
well wild magic is supported at least. It is pretty fun.
I stand by my belief that Runic Invocation is a mistake and a waste of design space. Having 33 different invocations doesnt matter when only 2 of them are usable or w.e. the number is after the changes.
I guess. But it expertly avoids the whole emergant gameplay thing I wanted out of it, I want to choose a spell for the situation
When I saw 40 invocations or whatever, I go "oh boy, 40 spells", not, "oh boy, 3 spells"
You technically can, but having one of each spell that you use, but yeah it isn't easy
Ironically, Runic Invocation would be amazing in PoE2. At least by 'the Vision'.
YES
I mean, that assumes that there are more than 3-4 situations that you might want to cast your spells in.
Yes. It's a ARPG problem at it's core i think.
Is this because they're too weak?
Don't forget big shield
There's also 'buff', 'debuff', and 'heal'.
it's kind of like magika, you have a bunch of combo's but really only use a few
Yeah, the game is too fast for that type of methodology.
nah, absolutely not how I played magicka
Imagine No Rest for the Wicked, but the spellweaving is like... the central mechanic
well that's how me and my friends played it. Typically used 3-5 spells at most
That would be badass, but the game HAS to be focused around it
you ever seen/played wizard wars? it's dead now, but it's got fast spell mashing gameplay I like. Kinda like complex rock paper scissors where every tool can be turned against you
naw, I saw it but never got into it
Also yeah, i think magicka is good because you can pick a couple spells, but I'm frustrated about how LE doesn't let you do the big spell list gameplay like magicka does
it's the limited spells I think, 5 is too low when you need to dedicate 4 to use runic invocation as a build your own spell system
It's because by nature you need to build into something. Afaik you have to pick either 1 element, or crit/dot.
by nature you will always be cutting off huge swaths of the list arbitrarily. If all fire invocations did dot, and all lightning invocations did crit, it'd be a bit different imo
It's also the speed of the game, it's too fast to be able to make highly tactical decisions
that too
I also wouldn't mind gameplay being so universally braindead if i wasn't stuck mashing the "move" for days on end, big grind... Again i'm so hyped for season 2 sharing monolith progress
I force myself to not let myself get excited for every new character and plan them out, because i get bored when i have to actually put the build together later
it's the alt-a-holic curse
Literally it'd be more varied if the variations of Invocations was a tiny pool. You can only do damage with like 80% of them or w.e. so obviously whatever does the best damage (and is a good element) still mind blown they didnt just select specific niches (DoT Invocation, Big Hit Invocation, AoE Invocation, Defensive Invocation) and just build utility around that tbh.
Me when the unique I made an entire character around requires level 80
oh that's so frusterating. I did that once in PoE1 with oro's and never again
I would love to try gaspar's set, but it requires me to spend so much time on a character that I have a fully realized build I don't want to effectively delete by respeccing...
I always pick builds that just work early game, or the unique that enables them are somewhat low level
I'm the same way. I'd love to do a jasper's searing pride build, but... you gotta be WAY too high level for it
You've already completed most of the game before you can even equip it
There's a part of me that wants to just, have 1 character for every mastery/class and then respec, but that's so extremely expensive at level 100 it's not viable
i'd love to be wrong
That's also my problem with POE2. You want to build around the top tier of skill? Have fun playing a character for 8 hours before you even unlock it.
well you can always do that in offline mode...
plus it's so annoying having to save screenshots of every skill/passive tree/blessing/whatever
i guess that's what le tools is for
yeah
Yeah if you are looking to save a bulid idea LE tools builder is pretty good
My big frustration is I am exactly the kind of person LE is perfect for in it's building aspect, I love brainstorming things and improving bit by bit, but I'm not able to engage as much as I'd like to because it takes so long to grind
I have half my fun in the builders of LE and PoE
Same
lmao, pathfinder 2 building came to mind, it's even slower rules as written, let alone factoring in how you can only play once a week usually.
most players I know have never actually brought a character to level 20 unless they started there/nearly there
2, not one, but yeah, ttrpg. applies to most ttrpgs i know
I didn't even know 2 existed, I used to love playing 1
I point to pf2e cause I'm addicted to it, and because it's building is similarly extremely balanced and has a lot of options
1 probably applies in much the same way, if you come in with a completed build you're probably going to be dissapointed. The difference though compared to an arpg is it's a ttrpg, so your gm (me, in this case) can just accelerate levelling to a degree the players are happy with
interesting
I can and will rant about pf2e given the prompting hah
hah, I don't mind. I like most forms of DnD, not a fan of the card game ones though
I'm hyped for slay the spire 2... sts 1 is the only card game that has held my attention, just wish Watcher wasn't so hilariously broken
ah so a rogue like card game
yeye, nothing in particular keeps me on it, it's just exceptionally well balanced
..except watcher
every other character was play tested to actual hell, but watcher came on release
ah
It's funny because 50% of people complain watcher is terrible and unusuable, the other half say she completely obliterates the entire game. She has a learning curve and then pops off hard with how consistent her absurd potential is
PF2e holds a special place for me because it's one of a kind afaik in how you can perform a role in your team. I absolutely adore the idea of picking up a shield and then tripping and controlling enemies for my party, and having that be actually viable. I LOVE teamwork, and performing a role in a team where if any part of the team is missing nothing works.
Yeah that's the hard part in a lot of DnD's is that someone's build normally pops off more then others and throws balance out the window
Dungeons and Dragons feels like a competition to me, it's who can do the flashiest fanciest thing.
DM needs to be really creative in ways to limit the strenght of characters without nerfing the entire party
PF2e fixes that, it's so well crafted.
Well that's good, it without a doubt loses some of it's complexity (because PFSRD is MASSIVE), but the balance is probably worth it
in Dungeons and Dragons the meta builders end up ruining the fun for others half the time... and it's not even their fault, are you supposed to not participate with the mechanics?
exactly, meta and non meta players is hard to isolate without alienating the group
And the opposite is true. A player who cares more about making a cool backstory usually has to sacrifice a good build.. pf2e not so much, you can come at it from either angle and both work 100% fine.
Some people want the combat, some want the roleplaying. Almost never it seems people want both. To find a group that agree's on one or the other is nearly impossible
If I wanted to play PF2E, I'd rather play D&D 4E.
4e did some interesting things, but it's still DnD. PF2e sure did copy a bit of homework tho
Which I find to be very hypocritical of Paizo, considering the history.
Both systems came in to tackle the same problems
i heard monster train was good
I have also heard this.
I love monster train as a sandbox card builder, i forgot about that
also balatro
It's kinda too easy to make op builds though once you know them
i personally play this https://store.steampowered.com/app/1140150/__Lost_Branch_of_Legend/ xd
My partner loves balatro, I can never really get invested... Just making your number go up isn't engaging enough for me.
I don't think i have ever seen someone bring up the same touhou game twice lmao
I mean, nonserious joke. Whenever I see someone talk about a touhou game, it's never a game i've seen before, always a new one
Not you in particular
I don't want to get into anything that could even remotely resemble politics, but I wouldn't exactly say WotC wins out over Paizo on morals on any front.
It seems like one is made every 1-2 years lol
Reviews seem very good
Calling out Paizo's hypocrisy in no way says anything about what WotC may or may not have done. I don't play either franchise, at the moment. Only RPG I'm looking forward to is the Cosmere RPG.
I always liked Paizo because they are much more open, and have an insane level of complexity if you want to use it.
Cosmere is my other passion lmao
Knock knock it's the pinkertons
its basically sts but reimagined as touhou
I looked at it, but it's too expensive for me to get into
Then let's focus on what we both enjoy. ๐
I'm back and forth on Pathfinder2e, sometimes it bothers me that it's balanced SO tightly
I'm also financially invested into pf2e, it's becoming my job
I understand this actually!
you mean official ones? rarely anybody plays them, they are basically cover for new music album
thats how most of ppl get indocrinated, through music
It's funny that I felt less on a treadmill in 4E.
I loved 4E but I understand why people didn't. It was very much just "D&D Tactics"
paid gm?
Yeah, there's still plenty i don't like about pf2e, I'm working on running it with an alternate ruling, Proficiency without Level, that gets rid of all of the fake scaling numbers
yessir
Hey, I can get behind this.
Yeah, I like that concept too
PF2e math adds your level to everything, enemies, items, spells, everything. This rule just... takes that out.
It's also veering into Rolemaster levels of automation required, IMO.
Some stuff gets a bit more complicated and takes a hand in fixing, but it's surprisingly smooth
Which begs the question as to why they did it.
Well, I know why, but yeah.
That I can also agree with, especially with the new classes. I couldn't imagine playing without foundry
We usually also play with free archetype and free 'basic' items (+1 striking weapons, etc). The game is so tightly balanced that if you don't have those you feel WAY underpowered.
Automatic rune progression yeah
I just fudge all the rolls (as a GM).
Yeah, I have a player who doesn't like the idea of removing the scaling, he likes how he gets his +40 at endgame
I don't fudge rolls any more because dice tell stories and if you fudge them it feels weird.
Sometimes you gotta let players fail (or succeed)
Buffing hero point rules is my fix
My biggest nightmare is a player dying lmfao
Atleast, to something that wasn't their mistake
Oh sure... it's only like one or two, because of that tightness... believe me, they can still fail.
i know one gm
every campaign is gm vs players
Well, yeah.. their character, though... ๐
Instant out for me.
I mean, my character dying? YIPPEE I get to make a new build!!!
yeah there was a lot of fire
I never like fudging rolls. Feels like I'm guiding the players instead of the players forging thier own path
but ppl still play
There's only two things I won't tolerate for any length of time in a GM: Adversarial relationships, and blatant favoritism.
yes
Yeah don't like either of those things either
As a GM i am actively cheering for the players to the degree I have to hold myself back before it get's intrusive
so well hidden favoritism is okay? xd
Yeah... I love to see the crazy hijinks they come up with.
That whole party dynamic system makes me so happy, I want nothing more than to provide them with fun monsters and challenges to make their system work
One of my buddies is TERRIBLE at keeping secrets as a GM. He always wants to tell us his stuff
haha yes
Hahaha... Once I detect favoritism, I'm gone. The last group I tried to join as a player, I sat for an hour with nothing to do while the GM and one player (related to GM) basically had a solo adventure. I didn't even get to introduce my character.
Never went back.
that's uh... i can't remember which # rule for me
tabletop ettiquite, give people time to shine
The acronym 'PAFO' is often used in my games. ๐
I give hero points when people do stuff like that, offer ins for RP and such
My group is always REALLY bad about remembering hero points, heh
You sound like a good GM. But maybe you're just hiding your favoritism. ๐
You said something negative about one of my passions once, you die first
Speaking of, are you all caught up on Cosmere books? ๐
I haven't finished WoT, and I got spoiled on the ending :(. Doesn't stop me from enjoying it tho, I just gotta sit down and read again
lol, thats extreme
Otherwise, with the exception of white sand, completely caught up to my knowledge
As I said, blatant. ๐
Been listening to the graphic audio versions with my partner
Same. I will talk anyone's ear off about the Cosmere.
I like how many people share my niche passions here, maybe it says something about our personalities lol
(I have finished W&T, BTW.)
its server for a game for nerds
overlaps are frequent
Personality? Maybe. More like dependencies among data of interests.
I am enjoying the kaladin debatelord arc greatly so far
Nice! That is a very nice arc.
What day are you on?
Uhh.. I'm not sure tbh. I can check the page when I get downstairs in a second
At least Day 3, if you've gotten to debatelord, I think.
In terms of plot, Adolin's arc is my favorite. In terms of Cosmere lore, absolutely Dalinar and Navani's.
Did you like book 4? That one's divisive. It surprised me to see so many people hated it
I liked quite a bit of it.
Oooh man I'm enjoying Adolin so much
Yeeee
I ran into someone last Christmas who legit couldn't see any value in Shallan. Honestly asked me, 'Why do you like her?'
(TBF, he's only read WoK.)
Fair actually
is this something like Discworld or MythAdventures?
I'm kinda dreading starting WoK again with my partner because it reverts so much character development
Perhaps. I found her story to be riveting, personally, and a nice change of pace from Kaladin's story.
Something like that.
Favorite single Cosmere work? (Book or short story)
WIthout a single doubt, Emperor's Soul
It's similar to discworld in the fact that there's a large persistent world... or universe for that matter. But it's not sorta episodic like discworld is
Emperor's Soul is also mine. Forgery is an amazing magic system, and the writing is very tight.
My #1 interest in the cosmere is the magic systems, and yeah, forgery is just a tier of it's own
Well, it is what Sanderson is known for.
It's also very enhanced by being a novella, it doesn't leave me craving more, but still fully uses all of it's time.
Have you read The Lost Metal? ๐
Yessir. ...Lemme remember which one that is lmao
You're aware of who Moonlight is?
Yep :3
I didn't pick up on it the first time Iread through it.
Then I saw it online, and was like, 'wait wut'.
Characters absolutely get around
And even moreso in the future.
There's a podcast the 17th shard does, and at the end of every episode they do "who's that cosmere character"
Something tells me Isles of the Emberdark is going to drop some huge spoilers.
I really can't stand that podcast, unfortunately.
That's fair. I like the segment mostly
I haven't watched it in quite a while, I can't recall.
I dunno... tbf, I don't like most podcasts.
So ye. I'm cautious about the cosmere TTRPG. I'm hopeful, it seems promising, but it's too expensive for me to consider, and i'm not leaving pf2e anytime soon...
I backed it to the hilt.
Back when I had money.
My brother got to play it at DSX. He said it plays even better than it sounds on paper.
nice
I'll see what I can do to get you a copy.
I don't think I'll be able to play a TTRPG in person any time soon anyway, hopefully it'll come out for foundry
Well, I'll see what I can do. Cosmere is one of the few bright lights in the world for me right now, so I try to spread it as I can.
To anyone reading this and is utterly confused but might be interested, I believe Tress of the Emerald Sea is the consensus on best entry point
May be consensus, but I don't agree with it.
Mistborn: The Final Empire is great too and was the old consensus, but Brandon has gotten better at writing since then so it's not flawless.
Still a better entry point, IMO.
I think it's great ye
I don't like book 2 tho. It's long and arduous, which is totally the point, but also still kinda a slog
Also it has the worst cosmere character ever imo
I'm one of those rare people that just... didn't really like mistborn in general
That's harsh actually, I still like it, but I think it's probably the weakest cosmere book.
Mhm? I can understand that. Extends to era 2?
I actually started with... Warbreaker, I think.
Though I would recommend Mistborn, myself.
Warbreaker has one of the biggest twists in the Cosmere... iykyk.
It's a good book, also Nightblood is really cool if edgy
Me trying to describe why Szeth is so cool to me until i realize i'm just describing an anime protagonist
Hahahahahahaha.
Have you seen the video someone did of an animated trailer for Way of Kings, to the song 'Kaladin'?
I was so excited to learn what book 5 was going to focus on, especially considering it was going to be the arc climax.
Nightblood is rapidly becoming my favorite Cosmere character.
No, I actually haven't consumed very much cosmere media outside of the books. ...I got spoiled last time I did, but maybe that was my fault iunno.
I'll see if I can find it.
If you like Szeth, you WILL like it.
Hope links are okay here?
I love how everyone just kinda has an accepted look for every character. Being able to recognize exact characters immediately is cool.
Well... Szeth in particular we have silhouettes of.
Also Jasnah, Kaladin, Shallan, Dalinar...
True actually...
I also love the shape of the Rosharan continent.
I have a friend who is an absolute history nerd, he plays so many grand strategy games
There was a really really really cool way of kings mod for Crusader Kings 3..
It doesn't work anymore.
It didn't get finished, but it's so cool
I tried to do it.
heck
I play a few grand strategy games.
He tried to get me into them, they don't quite click for me
Maybe I'll give it another go with a fantasy mod, I know there's one in particular he really likes
CK3 is really the odd man out and is IMO the only one that truly evades the 4X trap.
Yeah, I by far enjoyed it the most. EU4 is his fave, but it really doesn't do anything for me.
Despite WW2 being interesting, Hearts of Iron bores both of us lmao
CK is the only one where you play a family, not a state. (Which is historically accurate.)
And that's really the key.
I like the one viking you can start as where you get to just, set up literally anywhere immediately.
Gets I think 2 disposable armies and is ready to pack up and move.
I always play some rando.
I'm actually really excited because near the end of the year, CK3 is adding East Asia, including Japan. Which means I get to play Heian era Japan... I wonder if they'll do it justice.
oo
Considering how utterly bizarre Heian-court Politics were, I'm not sure how they could.
I love how it highlighted the Japanese cultural passion for proxy rule. Which was then exacerbated by the bakufu.
I am not a history buff lmao
I have a degree in Japanese Language and Culture. Included history. It's one of the areas of history I studied deeply.
Oooo okay
Japans a hang of a place for history isn't it?
Or is that just an impression I have because it's geographically dense.
Not sure what 'hang' means here.
A lot. Particularly intricate. Though I supposed literally any place can be as intricate as you want it to be.
OIC. Uh.. I mean, Japan is interesting for several reasons, but it also has its issues throughout history (and not just WWII).
Ye, that's what I mean. Lots of very drastic changes.
Mm... not sure I'd say that... depends on your viewpoint, I guess.
ye, i have no idea lol
I just find the mode of rulership utterly fascinating.
I don't really have a way to get involved in a history discussion. I'm interested, especially with someone who's passionate about it, but don't have any knowledge lol
I could explain, if you like.
If you wanna, yes!
Sure. Okay, so the first Imperial state in Japan was the Yamato state in the 500s AD. That's when it coalesced.
And the Yamato state imported Buddhism from China via Korea. (Amusingly, because it was 'efficacious in war'.)
There was a backlash, and the family that led that backlash changed their name from Nakatomi to Fujiwara.
This family dominated the court utterly, by an interesting practice. They would get a teenage Emperor, and marry them off to a Fujiwara daughter. The father of the bride would then rule as regent.
Right before the Emperor came of age, he was cast aside, one of their (male) relatives would ascend, and they would repeat.
Huh..
This went on for... a couple hundred years.
Note already that the Fujiwara family head was effectively Emperor during this time, so this is an example of proxy rule.
Then, the Retired Emperors started getting uppity, thinking they should control the Imperial succession in this way. They start struggling with the Fujiwara for control.
They'd go through them like once every 10 years? Or would they be married off really early.
This power struggle doesn't have a lasting victor, but then, in the 1100s, there was the rise of the Taira family. Their head, Taira no Kiyomori, basically supplanted the Fujiwara AND the Retired Emperors, and started ruling by proxy. This was after the Taira had militarily defeated their rivals, the Minamoto, in a war.
Two of the Minamoto sons, Yoritomo and Yoshitsune, survived. And then, in 1182, started the Gempei Wars, overthrew the Taira, and declared the founding of the Shogunate, with Yoritomo as Shogun (who administered the State for the Emperor).
So now we see that proxy rule is reified and made explicit in the Shogunate.
Funny thing, though. Yoritomo married into the Hojo family. Once he had a son, the Hojo family murdered him, gained control of the Shogunate because of it, and then started to run the State. So now we have a double-proxy, the Hojo running the Bakufu (government) in the name of the Shogun who administered the government in the name of the Emperor.
Just.. layers
This keeps going more or less until 1333, when the new Emperor Go-Daigo, decides this is all silly and decides to impose direct imperial rule. This lasts ALL of 3 years, and then the Ashikaga family deposes him, creates the Ashikaga Shogunate (basically the successor to the old Shogunate), and keeps on keeping on.
Then, in the late 1400s, there's a big war, everything breaks down, and the Warring States Period begins (the Sengoku Jidai). This is the timeframe where most samurai movies are based, so everyone's concept of samurai (but not bushido) springs from.
In terms of proxy rule, though, it doesn't get a whole lot more complex through the ages.
That's just one facet of Japanese history that I like. ๐
It's a lot lmao
I may have gotten a few details wrong, as I did this from memory, but it should be right overall.
I totally get it though, it's interesting.
Yeah, and I'm wondering whether this created the famous Japanese cultural trait of indirection, or if that trait already existed and is why Japanese culture seems to slide into proxy rule.
And, if it still continues today, you would have to be careful because it would suggest that the people who appear to be in charge are likely... not.
I'm totally illiterate with how rule works in this time period, let alone japan, but I suppose if it works it works. As long as you're ruling what you want to rule, with the influence you want, you're happy.
Sure... for the rulers. ๐ It's when others don't agree that you start having problems. ๐
I think that's just it isn't it? Yeah, sure, you get to be a ruler, just 1 step under me, and then I don't have to do all the nitty gritty work I don't actually want to do anyway.
Just yknow, make sure they don't get too lofty ideas.
But that's precisely the opposite of what happened. What actually happened is very close to a Prime Minister ruling for a Monarch.
huh okay...
And even then, the Monarch theoretically chooses their Prime Minister.
Imagine if the Prime MInister picked the Monarch.
That was what was going on throughout the Heian Period.
And the Monarch is, on paper at least, superior in rank and importance than the Prime Minister.
I so struggle to wrap my head around the logistics of this stuff. I get caught in disbelief that people just go "yeah, our king married off his daughter so now I guess this other country is our ruler now"...
I supposed the common citizen, however well off, could not care less, it's just the royals who are caught up in whatever logic they decide on
CK3 actually shows this quite plainly through Inheritance, and it never actually worked that way... directly.
If you, as a King, marry your daughter (in a non-matrilineal marriage) to another King, you would still rule. However, if that daughter had a son by that other King, depending on how titles inherit, your grandson would inherit your Kingdom AND his father's, and it would be in his father's line.
However, if the marriage was matrilineal, then any children produced is of your dynasty and not the person your daughter married, and your grandson would again inherit both Kingdoms, but it would be your Dynasty, not his.
It's so fun. ๐
CK3 being taught to me was my first ever introduction to this whole concept, and the entire time was just thinking "why, is this really the only way? Why aren't people just killing the old ruler and saying it's mine now"
Oh people do that too.
But the Middle Ages was remarkably civilized in that respect.
What stopped that from being the default? Just mutual understanding that it means the same lines will be crossed for you?
The reason you couldn't just kill the King and seize power was that no one would recognize your right to the Throne. If you had your OWN army, and used that, then sure.
An example of this happening was the Norman conquest of 1066. And even THEN, both people had claims to the English throne.
Okay, so it's everyone directly underneath the ruler
It's hard to rule when no one obeys you, no?
Ye, you are infact not a video game character it turns out
This entire issue is one of legitimacy.
What does 'legitimacy' mean, and I don't mean in terms of birth.
It's whether your rule is legitimate, and the very first question is whether you have a claim to the title you're trying to take.
Having a claim doesn't mean your rule legitimate, but not having a claim certainly would make it illegitimate.
And this is all just a random idea everyone agreed on because that's how it is? By everyone I mean everyone running kingdoms, atleast at the top.
I'm sure if people wanted your rule to be illegitimate they'd consider more things as such, and vice versa...
I don't know, it's such a different time, completely different logic.
It was an outgrowth of the fall of the Roman Empire, for the most part. (And here I am mostly talking about Western Europe.)
I imagine there was more than a little "I don't know who is holding the reigns" going on. It's not like you could really communicate with people outside your community, and when some new dude shows up with soldiers demanding taxes or saying he's in charge, wtf are you going to do?
Pretty much the entire reason for heraldry?
Yeah, I kinda breezed over that. I'm assuming every single common person, no matter how well off, doesn't really care as long as they can eat and have shelter and such. But, at some level of governance people are just accepting wacky rules and running with it
Yeah, but like what is heraldry to a peasant who is struggling to eat? Common people didn't have enough anything to really be concerned with who is running things
I would use a more modern example, but I don't want to break rules.
Yeah lol, I was wanting to draw parallels
I could probably find a crash course on this somewhere pretty easily
Not a very nuanced take, really. My only point about heraldry was to point out that if someone came in demanding stuff, there were 3 options: 1) He was legitimate, and would have the heraldry to prove it. 2) He was illegitimate, but was wearing the lord's heraldry to fool people. 3) They're bandits.
The main issue is the second case, because the others are straightforward. In the second case, you would seek redress, and the Crown would normally grant it. Faking heraldry was also a major offense, for this exact reason.
That's a helpful way of putting it. some of these have consequences if you handle it wrong
I guess I mean more of like... 5 dudes with swords show up, how much does it matter that he's legit? He's going to kill you if you don't do what he says
Being able to tell the difference only matters if you can defend yourself, or your community can
Which is the redress part. You go tell the local lord, and he either fixes the problem, or he doesn't. In the latter case, you keep going up the feudal oaths until you reach the King.
Or until they stop seeing you because you're a commoner, yeah
middle ages complex moment
And note: the Crown would normally side with the commoners against the nobles, because the nobles were the threat to a king's power, not the commoners.
Ooh that's interesting
There's also the fact that commoners were not as poorly armed as you seem to think. It would likely take more than 5 people with swords to actually compel anything more than a single farm.
They'd probably also be able to band up into a makeshift militia right?
Balance of power, medieval style.
Yeah, I'm guessing there's a lot of regionality to it. Community size and stuff probably played into it a lot.
Certainly. I am not making the case that this didn't happen, or even that it only happened seldomly. I'm just saying that there were systems in place.
I think as humans we have a tendency to look at literally any point in the past and assume they were so simple back then, when I think we're very talented at making everything extremely complex no matter what
Social systems are complex as soon as you get more than 2 people together, heh
The faster the changes occur, the faster this happens, as well.
Doesn't matter the tech level
That would be obvious from history, yes.
Even at two people, it gets complex. Marriage, am I right?
Arguably, marriage involves more than two people because it doesn't exist in a vacuum. The state and thus a complex social system is a core part of it existing
It doesn't have to involve more than two people. It currently does, and has throughout history, but I see no intrinsic requirement.
Well, without more people/systems involved, it's not really marriage, just an unlabeled partnership
Semantics!
The moment two people are involved interests will collide. Specifics doesn't matter
I get along extremely well with my partner and we are extremely patient with eachother, but still sometimes things hurt.
Certainly, but I despise the connotation of 'semantics' meaning 'therefore it doesn't matter'.
I wish more people understood this. ><
Fair, but using semantics to derail a conversation is usually just people being contrary for no reason
We aren't we the borg yet
I never intend for a semantics issue to derail a conversation. My goal in discussions like this is always to reach understanding. And if people have a difference of semantics, reaching understanding becomes more difficult.
Mm, we're getting there. Or, better said, the exact opposite of the Borg.
I'm frankly terrified by the increase in implied solipsism in the world.
I don't know if it's new tbh
Solipsism isn't new, philosophically. It permeating into the culture is.
Mm sure
I think it's likely due to the rise of the Internet. Activities like that we're doing here.
Anything that removes or reduces the impact of having to deal with another actual will/personality/agency/whatever.
Asimov's The Naked Sun touches on this, but not directly.
I don't even think specifically. Just what you said, we're surprisingly good at hiding behind screens and being terrible to eachother.
I don't think I can properly engage this without edging rules, probably already are.
Oh, sorry, not my intention to skirt rules.
yeye
Iunno where the lines are. Usually if we have to ask that question it's probably best to drop it
Probably, yes.
You're fun to talk to, if you wanna dm me or something I'm up for that. I'm not too likely to be active in here
just finished the end game of POE2's Javazon. you guys gonna jump here right away too?
Hm? I mean, sure, but without the PoE2 first part.

Eh I don't think it looks AI

Usually it's (hours needed to complete project) x (cost of your time per hour). Now cost of your time per hour is up to you, I recommend start by working it out with the Minimum Wage and then settle on a number that feels reasonable to you ๐
ye thats so weird
bugging atm
How long will an international transaction (different banks in different countries) take usually?
The balance of the transaction is USD$70 if it's helpful
I wonder do USD$250 (min balance) in the credit card is the common condition of international transactions or it's just on Chinese bank card's side (I guess this is the margin for reducing the risk of the first transaction in finance?)
So many things I never experienced so I have no idea what's going on ๐
Wow, I don't think I'd survive that, heh.
I need to find that damn epoch
Seriously, I get hyper on nothing. That would probably cause an aneurysm or something.
I'm not kidding. At one job, whenever I'd walk into the office with a coffee cup in my hand, everyone's first interaction wasn't 'Hi' or 'Good morning'... it was to point at the cup and say, 'That's decaf, right?!?'
And I WISH I was joking.
Caffeine doesn't do much to me
I guess that's a double-edged sword.
Like I can drink a cup of coffee and still fall asleep
That depends on the coffee you take, usually the roasted ones that they sell barely has any caffeine in it
That is the most common way of making decaf coffee, as I understand it.
Yeah
tbh I still drink it
helps with bowel movements
It's also usually the cheapest coffee around so it's what people take the most
It's a shame, because I really like the taste of coffee, but can't handle the caffeine.
The thing with coffee for me is that the taste really isn't for me unless I put a truckload of sugar, and at that point even energy drinks are healthier
I do put a lot of cream into my coffee, but no sugar.
Depends on the exact kind. I guess I should say that I don't put in any sugar in excess of whatever I would get from the cream.
My teeth are sensitive to sugar, and I can definitely tell when I do each.
So poe, amirite

Hi everyone, when I stream LE can I post my link in the livestream SO, or is it only for certain people?
Thanks in advance
The bot should automatically post a link to your stream if you start the stream in LE category
Alright, I thought so but not sure. Thanks NUB
Np
If it doesnt show in the channel , you can post it no problem
Thank you very much Mod. This community and feedback is the best.
๐ค I never imagine I can enjoy... An action RPG?! Combats are quite friendly in Atlas fallen. It even give me a surprise, ||sliding on the sand to enjoy the dopamine from speed||
Poor games I played so I'm impressive by the cave environmental design. They use light so well.
What game is this
Based on the speed dopamine, probably Warframe
Atlas Fallen I'm pretty sure
You just need pizza deliveries set at 4 hour intervals and you'll be good to go.
Never played that.
I hated runescape but this is crafting/survival set in the RS universe? or something? Idk looked fun
It looks like Valheim, but in a Runescape setting
Some initial stuff looked pretyt promising, surprise drop today
Maybe I'll give it a go... will probably bounce off of it like most of those games, but you never know.
Love when devs do this
My buddies are super excited, I'm gonna play it because they're playing it ๐คทโโ๏ธ I hope I like it but IDK enough about it to be sure
Can't be distracted from LE, though.
Nah, still way more excited for that, though I'm going on a vacation from Friday-Sunday
Gonna have to blast on Thursday as much as I can
Yeah now im worried this will pull a few of my friends away from LE ๐ They're diehard runescape guys
Ah, sorry.
Fuuudge I can't post it here ๐ฆ
I wanted to do that whole "48 hours remain".
Even though I'm a little late.
โฌ๏ธ here
๐ค The combat gamerplay is interesting but I'm struggling with every combat still because I'm bad at dodging attacks
Getting into the right combat rhythm is hard for some games. I can only do it with the last 2 Jedi games with Cal Kestis
Atlas fallen will much more easy to play for monster hunter players
First time to do the loop include light attack + heavy attack + dodge + rotate my view + fly to attack + freeze enemies + heal myself + notice enemy's actions, I'm too busy
I didn't like MH so I don't have any experience with it myself.
Game honestly looks pretty good with GrimTex + GrimShade, but my standards are low. Still fun though ๐
Ah
Love me some Grim Dawn
Wait why the game looks so vibrant ?
Plug ins ?
GrimShade uses some kind of ReShade filter to saturate the colors
Some kind of HDR filter I think
Or more like mods sorry plug ins are for RuneScape
Tends to make things more vibrant
That actually looks nice but couldn't play it for long
Yea the fine a bit saturated for me long time though
Some damage types theme wise do look very nice though
Haven't played GD for at least 2 years
Same
I disabled SSAO and lowered the sharpening a bit, but yeah those are the filters GrimShade uses and recommends with GrimTex (recent update)
The most happy thing today is I have found an artist community (r/digitalarts) finally, Thanks for reddit.
Have a place to share my artworks and meet more artists to learn each other is the best thing for me.
I want to explore 2d illustrations/concept environment designs/architecture sketch if I have a chance indeed. Maybe time to take my action.
No idea why this sentence is blocked
as always, there is nothing wrong with studying real life pics for undrstanding how shadows work
or using references
Already dealt with that too
Ordered supplies to do a bunch of sandwich ๐ฅช
Will make then tomorrow and be ready
yeah it'll super good if I can travel anywhere... To find somewhere I think it's interesting or inspirational to take photos and just copy and paste them by my hands. But...๐คทโโ๏ธ Just can be a dream. Too many limits in the real life but of course I don't want to complain my life too much here.
Find pictures on the inernet is a good way too but the problem is the same.
"What should I draw?" lol
"What am I want to do by this work?" lol
"Which lesson can I learn by this practice?" lol
No one will tell you clear answers...
That's why I suppose concept artist is the most amazing artist type in game industry now... They provide ideas. Everything can't be started without a good idea.
what?
No worries, just many personal opinions.
wow I never know bloodborne's environment art is so amazing... My chrome is go to the next level immediately after change a new theme (bloodborne is the new one)
? Judd is here ๐ค
Judd's eyes peer into your soul from miles away. You feel the intensity and it makes you nervous.
Sleep paralysis demon
Creepy af
Oooo. Think I'm using GrimTex but haven't looked at reshades. Will have to do that next time I hop on one of my characters. ๐
If I could quit my job and travel the world to take pictures that people could use for inspiration for art and game environments, I'd totally do it.
That job would be so much fun
Overpunishing players and now nerfing monsters or are they swaying away from the vision a little by little?
More likely the former.
Now the question is whether this makes up for the halving of stun threshold on players. Pretty classic GGG, TBH.
Yeah, overnerf and then bring back some power when they(we) realize that everything sucks.
Standard practice at this point
Bets on what kind of big change they announce on Thursday to try and take some of LE's thunder?
Good luck with that lmao
By this rate Johnny boy gonna be gaming alone
Well deserved
These guys took 5 months to make a patch only to destroy every part of fun in the game and oh also introduce some lootboxes
100% more damage on all skilla.
Seriously, subtlety is NOT GGG's strong suit.
yall want to hear something adorable? i got a pup that sleeps in bed with me every night. just like i always wanted. my pfp is her picture turned into anime with chatgpt
I hear someone want something adorable
oh bloodborne on ps4 only... Such a pity
Unfortunately it seems like Sony will never port it as they shuttered Japan studio
Oh, remind of a key word for my opinion:
No feedback. Especially no constructive criticism.
It's the biggest difficulty to grow.
You can't solve problems in your works if you even don't know them.
I want I own one thing can get this level one day too. Thousands of people enjoyed that.
Walmart messed up and accidentally listed a 3 pack of air conditioners for $139 when itโs supposed to be $140 a piece lol

Yeaa
the chance is ridiculously bad
i find it funny how jonathan was saying it's like 35% for 2
but turns out it's way lower than that
id believe it if the percentage lies
like if thers a bug that makes it 50% worse
like if left one item behind with less mods, itd be 100% better but thats not ruthless enough
That would be a lastepochtools.com bug. And since it's not an official website
Better buy all 3 now before summer hits and they jack up prices 80%

smol monitor on top always cracks me up
book I'm reading right now has epigraphs at the start of each chapter, and this one had me questioning whether or not it's possible to polish something without friction ๐ฉ
The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man perfected without trials.
Small monitor on the bottom is nice tho if angled well, had that setup with a laptop at work
I'm gonna go with a tentative maybe for frictionless polish, mostly because I'm not sure if shooting something with photons, electrons or something would count as friction; and if it doesn't, maybe you could in theory make something smooth and shiny that way, "polishing" it

I disagree, feedback can be very good thing to move you, sometimes you cant even perceive or understand what is going on but objective look from other person may easily spot an issue, even if it comes from laic person. I heard this game just now
Watching a video about the story of AmericanMcfee, the video mentioned he gave up to convince EA to spport his development on the sequel of Alice: Madness returns so he opened the whole design document for free, I'm interested in that so I searched where can I download that. On my pc now.
I never imagine I got the first game artbook in this way... Interesting.
Never played the first game
The story in Alice Asylum is quite vivid... I still want to read the dev blog even I listened the whole one.

So I've taught myself not to turn around while sleeping... and I've to change the arm every 2 weeks
I miss sleeping normally, really
i m guessing some weird blood circulation issue since it sending the low sugar signal
that is a bit strange
i have issues with circulation
yeah, if it gets pressure it can cause weird blood circulation
and that causes it to go off
and aslo a sugar low
ok that is actually uncofortable man
It is
i can turn but i wake up becouse i feel my side getting numb
lay on the bed by side is what I must do to fall asleep. I can't just lay on the bed
Which side, right or left?
I can't lay on one side for a long time so... both of them
Fair
right side confy for me but left side i can briefe easyly for me
but mostly is belly up with two pillows one folded xd
my head needs to be raised or i cant brief
I just sleep on one side for the 2 weeks
and then change after I've changed the sensor
Diabetes sucks btw
it does
I used to sleep extremely well
though I guess that was partially because I was more physically active
i havent had a shot or blood taken in 20 years somehow i manage to learn to control my levels
and my body got used to it
oh dear
and i used to do kick boxing profesionally and take like a pack of glucose a day before competitions
people think redbull gives wings XD
Like
I walked home from the hospital, 30minutes
and it dropped my glucose lvls from 10 to 4.5
yea that is a fast level burn holy
That made me worried what kind of stuff I actually need to eat before working out
like my was very mild and only issue was when i was a child
its hardly noticble now only in weather changes when its cloudy i can actually faint if i dont keep up
you can easy consume around 12 k kalories a day with a proper diet , its not going to be fun for your body at start but it can be done
its also like 4 shakes a day 2 protein and 2 kalorie ones
I've gained 24kg since september
.. mostly because I was severely underweight back in september
was 50kg when I had to go to the hospital and then got the diagnosis that yeah ,you got diabeetus son
i cant get 64 kg for last 10 years since i stoped working out
hyperactivity leads to hyperconsumption of calories and faster burn
Yeah
like i chug 2 literes of beer everyday lmao , belly where ? cant see shit
only mild abs
I can't really drink beer anymore
spikes the glucose too much
i demand my beer belly man
and then when it's burned it just drops the glucose at same
that is probably what is keeping me up tbf i dont eat sweets anymore at all and i used to a lot
But what I wasn't prepared for was cold sweat during the night
i changed from liking chocolate and munching al day to maybe have it once with a black coffe a day
ohh the body tempreture is like a circus for us
I used to keep 50kg for years... But I add more weight recently too. 51.75kg now ๐ I'm 165cm
pressure give people more fat
Women usually do weight less than guys
I'm 170cm and now 74kg
i can shiver in summer at 50 celcius and be sweating at 6 celsius and 75% humidity
So I'd say you're healthy weight still
Now if you were pregnant, then it would be another story
- 82 and 64.8 kg lul male though
Lightweight
I could squat with you on my shoulders
lol impossible to be pregrant. I don't want to have a child, never
feather weight XD
I want to have kids
if its still falls in to the category
that i can not discus as a man with you , i would like a child but not bringing one untill i can posibly give him/her a better life than mine
Same
things hapen , i dont want my child to live like i did xd
I prefer to feed a cat more than feed a child
It's golden
u dont have younger sister or brother ?
I've 1 younger brother, 2 older brothers and older sister
I'm the only child for my parents
my sister is 10 years younger than me , i will go in jail for a long time if i had to for my sister
but my mother have 4 sisters so I have 4 elder brothers
and we dont even talk amuch anymore she lives in britain
cousins ?
my brother got a kid, he's gonna be 2 years old in the summer
for the longest time I thought my brother wasn't interested women tbh
hey when u bring a part of ur self in to the world it must be a heavenly expirience
It is
and it changes how you think and feel
i cant update poe2 for some reason it looped on 69% (nice) for some reason
not even joking
tryed verifying files and everything
now you're ready for LE launch
i m watching a footy match but i want to play something lel
might as well go to poe 1 for a bit
When i was taking a shower today
I got a tinder notification that
"You're being watched, what are you going to do about it"
Never have I uninstalled something so fast
ok i restarted steam its moving
lmfaooo
android i m gussing ?
oh yeah
Yes
tbh it's just one of the random notifications you can get from tinder
For absolutely no reason, here is my cat.
I love your cat already
ohh yea sometimes those add/notifications go bullseye and u are like ammm wtf
I don't think no reason here
boss cat
Here's my old cat
I love her too. She is my daughter.
Pretty fur ball.
God, just looking at the pictures of him makes me cry
I miss him so much
That feeling is proof of his existence. Be proud of that.
i dont allow mine to go in to my bedrrom just cought one sitting by door after my toilet break waiting for me to allow him to go in xd
i love my cats but i have some breathing issues i cant have them in room
i still let them come in and explore same as my dog
I let her in my room in the morning. At night I can't sleep with her around.
This little guy also loved you, clearly.
My cat always slept next to me on the bed
Sometimes he would come under the blanket
And I'd wake up all sweaty and see him basically glued to chest
Mine does that in the morning. When she's much quieter.
both of them know they cant enter unless i aloow them to
I mean my little girl is like
Smart
Like, annoyingly so.
She knows my boundaries but likes to cross them anyway
That's just normal cat
I had to make her afraid of the door to prevent her from learning now to open it.
"Why are you waking me up"
She also just randomly flops on the floor when it's sunny out.
Cats do that, yeah
This particular one was taken when I was doing something in the kitchen, I turn around to find she had teleported behind me.
they do yea also its always in front of you like stroke me but dont touch me xd
so weird
Anyway, it's almost 11pm so i'm gonna drop off
tryto get some sleep
I assume your cats also teleport?
gn
Night
I was always aware where he is
when he still was alive and sharing the room with me
goodnight! I need to go to bed indeed
Sleep is important, Kirra
I hope I can persuade the bank give money I deserve to me today...

u are too late
i m getting eternal vanquisher i like the portal
i l take the woven next month or if i get my extra hours this month than earlier xdd
i actually wanted that portal efect i have some issues it looks so cool
thats gonna be my next season build !
The vision has failed.
Sounds like there's really... de-vision amongst the ranks
TL:DR the POE2 .2 season released in a REALLY rough state. Lots of nerfs hit harder than they thought it would and the gameplay turned into a real slog unless you got lucky and drop a good weapon every couple areas so it's always super up to date.
Community big mad, lots of negative reviews. Top tier execs give interview and are very unapologetic about the state of the game. They relent and start making big fixes to make things better, but community still big mad.
Which is ridiculous, ggg had extremely quick turn around implementing a lot of fixes over the last 2 weeks.
Ultimately, it's a balancing act. Ggg has a vision for what the game should be, and so do the players, and we meet somewhere in the middle.
Like ascendancy respecs, mark didn't want them but the player base did. So they implemented them, requiring you to do a trial at the appropriate tier to give you the same amount of points that you have to respec. Respec is available, but not free and can be difficult to do.
i just watched Hawg's YT video calling LE Visionwatch, its hilarious.
๐ญ ๐ ๐
This game maxed out at 1440p 120fps not even using 100w lol
What a treat โค๏ธ
GPU basically idle
76% is basically idle..? lol
76% at 1200mhz mate
This is a 7800XT it can do almost 2900mhz
On linux it will just clock up and stay below 90% usage so latency stays low.
The usage will stay around 80% and the GPU just clocks up.
It can go up to 300w
Temps go up quick on these cards haha.. In combat it will spike a bit but I repasted the card so ๐
Stock asrock paste application wasn't pretty. Look how much that is pushed away from the GPU lol.
Put one of these badboys on it and the hotspot reduced by 20c and im doing 250mhz higher clocks @last cedar
This is a thermal pad that will phase change above 45c. So after a few cycles it sets in, and then it transfers heat very well. It doesn't become fluid, so it doesn't pump out, and it lasts 8 years.
try do it in laptop ๐
either way his cpu goes on max clock which is second reason why he reach 120 fps
I used it on a handheld before, helped alot.
On laptops it's great, you just want to apply alot of pressure on the heatsink over the first couple weeks, while it sets.
It's made for laptops mostly, but GPUs really love it too, and for longevity it's better than paste
And yeah I keep CPU pinned at max clock for frametime stability, then let the GPU fluctuate, RDNA3 works better that way
GPUs and CPUs today are rated to run at their maximum temperature (80C-90C) for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for the entirety of their lifespan (over a decade). So long as you are within those temps, it ultimately doesn't matter how utilized or hot they are.
Very true. But i was running below advertised speeds because of the stock paste application
It would do over 100c hotspot at 2500mhz
Which is very close to max temp
With the pad does 84c in furmark at almost 2850mhz
If it ever exceeds 90C, it's a problem worth investigating in any case for sure.
And dont have to repaste the pad for 7 years
After 1500 cycles it reaches peak performance
It was hotter than my 6800xt which makes zero sense because the 7800xt is basically the same performance card and sometimes lower. But with less power usage.
sounds about right YEP
@bright crescent 8/8 bosses perfected live on stream yesterday
wowza
i love blazblue
It's interesting if le get spotlight as a big banner on steam page again
Alright, money on Fiverr stick on the transaction due to my Visa card is debit card. The system support Visa credit card only
me today
But the money on Patreon available to withdraw finally... Danish currency is worked.
๐ซ
But these Danish Krone available for spending on international websites only. Can't transfer to Chinese bank card.
Still that opinion. I want a Danish ID, a Danish visa card and a Danish phone number.
I like Denmark.
Ok explored a bit, Paypal is available in many 3d assets websites... Blendermarket, Artstation, Patreon, SketchUp texture club, poliigon... But steam don't support Paypal
i use paypal on steam
Hah?...oh maybe different regions then
maybe, i'm in the US
Wait, don't sleep time for US now ๐
Even New York time is 07:29 only
I wake up at 6 AM
