at the end of the day, all games must have 1 most important purpose: to provide entertainment, all other purposes are side dishes

The jaw dropping loot shouldn't even have to be uber loot either. Should just straight up be finding an item with some amazing stats that you can use in your build.

Like, you don't really need inheritance when you have interfaces and sum types

Because interfaces can describe complex stuff like "want an object to exhibit certain behavior" and sum types cover the simple situations where you have a small amount of things that are kinda similar in nature but also different

So like if in OOP you'd make a IP address base class and inherit IPv4 and IPv6 from it, in saner languages you can just use a sum type IPv4+IPv6

Likely unbaked. My SO and I went to a nearby cafe to have a meal, the pizza we ordered arrived as quickly as within 5 minutes.

There's a rather respectable pizzeria network in the city, they have their pizzas cooking for at least 20 minutes (normally fluctuating within 20-30 minutes).

We're used to this timeframe, so the fact that we were announced our order to arrive within 5 minutes kinda alerted me.

Turned out that the pizza was noticeably... I don't know, raw-ish?

I have no idea about their technological process of cooking pizza, but anywhere I asked I was told that 10-15 minutes is a bare minimum.

The cafe's superior was adamant in his belief that the pizza in question was cooked properly, claiming he's a cook himself, but I'm kinda not buying it.

It has as much armour and damage as high rank endgame gear. You are supposed to have like 30 armour when you begin, and it'll give you like 500 as well as defensive passives

And the weapon will have twice or 3 times the flat damage of early weapons

Issue is you will not die using it, you will not be punished for mistake and not be forced to play well soo you'll learn basically nothing. And once you reach a point in the game where it becomes an average or bad armour you'll get clowned by every monsters since you never learned to play

You can use defender weapons lol, they even out as you go through the game and they have some tradeoffs for their damage and defense, bit if you want the true experience you can avoid them. If you played base mhw you have an idea of what weapons you like, buy like Leo said, reacquaint yourself with them, find one you want to take through and run with it. Every weapon is viable throughout, except maybe lance which struggles more than it should in endgame.

They didn't really sway from their formula at all is the problem. Since D2 we saw games like Titan Quest, Sacred, PoE, etc come up with new ideas for the genre while Diablo has not. It feels bad because it hasn't evolved with the genre at all. I'm enjoy S2 but I know why, the vampiric powers add more to class customization that the game desperately needed. The item system and "endgame" is still DoA.

My reasons for enjoying LE is that it feels like an evolution beyond PoE, and it doesn't seem like anyone else is trying. Wolcen would have been good if it was good lol.

Honestly, WoW kinda peaked at WotLK first-installment, imo. The Blizzard we're seeing right now is NOT the same Blizzard, let alone Blizzard North, we've all been used to back in the day. It's all about monies now, sadly. Revenue this, retention that. Recycling content, snatching content (yes, WoW shamelessly stole a lot from GW2, for instance, what with their latest I-wanna-say-"mount" literally being an unholy fusion of skyscale and griffon), etc.

For me, WoW ended for good amid MoP.

D3 and even more so D4, never even touched 'em. Same with Hearthstone.

A month of WoW is around the cost of a good movie ticket - and I def play WoW more than 2hrs a month - so the sub never bothered me - I def get way more than my money's worth

Plus I mostly just pay for the sub with gold
