• Shady publisher known for messing around.
• BLOATED staff size, further complicated by globe-wide employee locations.

• Chosen monetization model (live-service + seasons + MTX) making fund bleeding worse (backend costs, staff costs, etc.).

And in some interviews and I think the blog post Judd (CEO of EHG) mentioned that EHG would retain creative freedom among other things. So while krafton does own EHG they likely can't make them do whatever they want whenever they want, but that's somewhat speculation since it might have just been an initial plan or something and not a clause of the acquisition. Only the two parties involved know those things

Seeing Krafton fail spectacularly makes me think there's absolutely no way they're going to try that nonsense again. They're under far too much scrutiny now, and the risk-to-reward ratio is WAY off. The games are also completely different (single player vs live service), which would make repeating the attempt -- even if it was successful -- self-defeating, because people would just abandon the game.

The point isn't that "everyone cares" but "some people care" and live service games make a lot of money, over time. Saving $60 million is an incredibly stupid gamble in that context, especially after literally losing an extremely similar legal battle.

iirc we can't modify unique items in the forge

but corrupting an unique or legendary item requiring placing it in the forge

The forge is another example on how the code philosophy being reflected visually constantly gets me too.
The forge slot looks to be generically "an item slot" with added functionality. We have several item slots, most of which came with season 2, the woven echoes that have a crafting aspect. We have the sanctum slots. The background is the same, which indicates that they are slots in general.
As such, I occasionally find myself confused as to which is which unless there is explicit text that indicates as such.

And the forge notoriously has stayed as a slot I know little of outside of working affixes on gear with FP.

Never tried putting anything else, for I suck at QA :p

It's helped me a lot - and suggested it to others - that they think of LE as of needing like 2-3 more patches until it's within the expectations that PoE has created. For me, it was enough to get hundreds and hundreds of hours out of, but for someone coming from PoE, it definitely isn't, and that's not a bad thing. The game clearly isn't "ready" for quite a lot of people.

I believe there was never a time that LE didn't cost the box price to play. As for pay-to-win, I also believe LE simply wouldn't do that - it's financial suicide in this competitive market. Even the separation of a new class and new story is way better than Diablo 4.

If you think your $30 entitles you to a lifetime of patches, that's a totally wrong mindset to go. If people don't like the cosmetics, 11 Hours can figure out better cosmetics, but in the meantime, are they supposed to starve or shut down the game?

Hero Siege sells classes for $2, and theyve decided to start making the older paid classes free. However, a Hero Siege class is probably about 1/5th as complex as a Last Epoch class. So if LE sells classes for 10-15 bucks, I think that will be a fair deal still
