You can but you don't have to. CoF isn't SSF, you can still play together with friends (loot is instanced) and share items you find while playing together for example. But if you want to enjoy LE as a pure solo experience, sure go offline

Hey all... so i am trying to figure out the prophecy mechanic. The prophecy itself is clear. Do this, condition, reward...simple. But what about the lenses and the droprate increases they provide. Are they always active when in a slot? From all directions at the same time? Do i have to pick/complete a prophecy from one of the directions to make them work... or does the drop increase apply to the specific prophecy reward from its direction (that does not seem to be the case) i am confused, and a global screen (like the one for the active blessings) would help a lot.

there are anti-cheesing and goldflipping mechanics built into the factions. Trade faction cant flip for profit, because items are only tradeable once, and the fortune stuff cant be traded (or used by) non-fortune chars

ssf in character select is a real thing with a concrete meaning, calling CoF "ssf" is just a descriptor stemming from the fact that 1) it's the only faction available offline and 2) it facilitates ssf in a way that other games haven't been so it's the focal point of hte feature

Fastest way to rank up is to spend guild favor on anything. Fastest way to earn that favor is to kill mobs. I think favor earned doesn't scale with enemy level, but I could be wrong.

When you first join, you (probably) won't have enough favor to select any prophecies. So go kill stuff until you get your favor up. Then once you have a bit, you go to the telescope and select the prophecy you want.

If you don't see any constellations, try relogging. The lenses go into the telescope slots, and you'll only have 1 slot unlocked (per telescope) until later

So as a CoF faction player, we have higher chance of LP drops, but we have limited rng or limited choices and only we ourselves are able to find the drops and no where else. Where as the trade faction, they have lower drop% compared to CoF players, but if we split the player base 50/50, then atleast 50k people will be trading and having more unique/lp items flow in the market, and since lp3-4 are very rare and not everybody gets the desires drops, they will sell the unwanted ones which can be useful others, unlike us, we don’t have the option to choose. Thats where the CoF falls off. But prophecies kinda cover for it if we can build up the favor and roll for specific gear drop prophecies etc.

Man, I love this addition. I played for exactly 666 hours so far, most of it before multiplayer was a thing and even then, I chose SSF for some reason and always had to target farm and rely on RNG. This takes solo gearing to a whole new level. Simply lovely.

When you first join, and it asks you to select a prophecy, you likely won't be able to see any constellations in the telescopes. Either leave the area and come back in, or relog and they should appear
Although also worth noting that when you first join you won't have enough favor to select any prophecies yet, so you need to go kill stuff

How do i increase the rate of CoF-effect tagged items dropping? I dont quite get how the game determines whether an item is CoF-tagged - they seem to drop randomly in my maps, some are tagged but most are not tagged..

Cof itself boosts item drops, the tagged items are results of those effects

I see, okay. I think a large part of CoF's advantage is the rank 2 effect, and the powerlevel of the rank 2 rune of ascendance effect would seem to depend on how often you can find the tagged items to use the runes on

also the other ranks are alot more impressive, the Exalted/T7 passives aswell as the LP unique boost is absolutely nuts

I've personally not had a problem with prophecies not counting, but I have heard some people mention the same thing as you, so could be that it just sometimes fail yea.

The only time I've had stuff not count is for the "Kill Void Horrors", it doesn't count the guaranteed spawn ones for the beacon events in the echoes. But idk if that's a "bug" per se, seems intentional since they don't give xp or drop loot

As far as I'm aware, the lenses only affect the constellations. So +15% chance per rank to find daggers, is +15% chance (per faction rank) to roll daggers when you get new constellations

When you first join, you won't have enough favor to take any prophecies. You get Favor by killing (anything) or completing quests, so you can go kill some stuff until your favor is a bit higher.

As far as I can tell its just random. I was able to complete 2 prophecies for that mob in about 30 or so areas in monos. When I found one that had them I full cleared it for more kills.

I believe Full Offline does not have chat or anything either. Offline chosen at character select has chat still. I don't know of any other differences but there may be some.

I assume that's because technically, you can hack the game while being offline and give yourself any mtx you'd like, or something along these lines. I understand the frustration of certain people (I don't care about MTX perosnnaly, I like pets but I don't mind not having them, I come from POE and we cannot see the screen in arpgs anyway).

But that would be great to have at least the possibility to play "semi offline" meaning having to login to have the MTX activated, but play on your own local server in offline mode.
