Most end game build required 2lp heard which is fine by me. I get to swap different build really easy. Another reason I try MG this season is because when I was in COF I have many many godly items, just sitting in stash and cover with dirt. At least now I have more fun knowing my effort can exchange for gold even though I’m not playing that class or build.

Also, I don’t really like boss fight, so now I don’t have to farm the boss fear I can just buy a 2lp one. Yes it’s extremely hard to buy 3lp but I’m ok with 2

If you don’t mind farming every single piece yourself , sure go COF, a lot of fun seeing so many items drop. I’m just too tired of farming everything myself also I enjoy trading ☺️

I'd suggest ignoring the negative nancy's and going MG as you planned at which point you can formulate your own opinion. MG is extremely viable and allows for easier and quicker min-maxing when compared to CoF.

I'm personally playing a Tornado Shaman in MG. I'm currently farming 1,700+ corruption monoliths with Uber cleared both of which would have dramatically more difficult goals to achieve being in CoF. My Shaman is extremely geared yet I have tons of options for upgrades still as with MG purchase options are vast.

In terms of a filter there's no better than the TSM filter which is by far the most popular MG filter. Just search TSM on here or Last Epoch Reddit, install the filter and print gold. Consider joining the Discord as well as there's lots of valuable information in there to help learn the market.

It's not even just that it's hard to make money for a new player, any decent item is almost never in the AH and you're basically just playing as factionless after a certain gearing point. A pretty quick point too for a garbage mastery that depends on crazy gear to do any decent corruption (Shaman).

I have well over gold cap and my Shaman has been at the same gear for a while, albiet I stopped playing after the Imprint nerf which killed MG even more.

I'm using very strict to reduce bad base item drops being shown with a few notable large changes.

The biggest one is I'm using "Show all possible 60k+ T7 mods" rule which I got from a filter created by the creator of the TSM T7 pricing spreadsheet. That rule adjustment alone makes a massive difference. The filter was the TSM Strict with that one adjustment. On top of that I've personally made two rules to highlight LP1 and LP2 unique items to gamble at the turtle resulting in at least a billion gold.

I made my first gold cap by selling idols when I was 100-200c , and back then the price is not as high as right now. So my suggestion is start with a class that’s is not heavily gear dependent and farm some currency first. Once you can farm higher corruption money will come passively. Like every hour I play, I got many random t7 good drops. Didn’t even target farm anything I just enjoy demolish packs of mobs

Now if you lucky, one double mana idols can be sold for 500m to 1.5b

I agree with you alot, i play hardcore legacy trying to survive and farm empower monoliths as long as i can before dying. Restarting every cycle doesn’t appeal to me at all either especially when busy with life & work.

To me its more appealing and rewarding and not only a challenge but making it fun and relaxing and getting right into the action instead of grinding all over again. if gear and character too op then just push corruption see how far you can go or farm more items so if your character does die in hc it wont be that stressful next play through for hardcore. (Is why its good to have late gear and op gear waiting for you) i only really play legacy hardcore for the adrenaline and farm as much as i can before dying. But again that just caters to me and my playstyle because i really see no point starting all over again from scratch starting at level 1 factions 0 stash that you worked hours for just to restart every new cycle season its just straight up boring at that point not even a challenge nor fun just more annoying grinding and time consuming for everything again you had seasons ago.

For this, you can just input "Rarity" there are options from exalted to uniques to legendary, just put exalted. For the affixes, search the thing that you need, put tier to 7 and max it out. If you want double exalted, just do the same and put another stats at tier 6 or tier 7

Yes, all your gold from previous seasons moves there. You do first need to merge the stash from each season for its gold, etc. to get added there.

T7 or double t6 sells. Right now meta is t7 Dex and strength on rings. Mana and crit multi and dmg over time on amulet. Attack speed and spell dmg on 1 hand sword. Slow chance and void dmg on 2 hand sword etc. need to know what popular builds are in order to sell easy

For relic, t7 judgement, smite, frost claw etc also sell

For glove: attack speed , cast speed, mana ,

Glove , boot, belt with hybrid health are always welcome. Such as for glove: t7 speed + t5 hybrid health

Idols can sell for few hundred millions too. Especially weaver idols with double mana .

I think it all depends on the item. If it has demand (ie. used in a fairly popular build) it will sell, even for the max price (1.5bi). If its an unpopular item, not even the 4lp will make the trick.

I play merchant right now (started playing maybe a week ago) so far so good, so I'd say go for it. Prices might look insane but it doesn't matter because all gold you get from selling gear. What matters is that really good items are pretty scarce because of gold cap, but still plenty of stuff to gear quick

Good thing is you don’t have to farm many uniques yourself ; but if you want 3lp on some popular uniques it’s very rate to find. But most end game gear don’t require 3lp anyway. If you want to min max - go COF , but if you happy with end game gear with some upgrade and try new builds , MG makes it easy for you

Also if you like to trade , MG makes all the trash or useless items become valuable , as other players will want your “trash”

I'm trying to look up primalist idols with chance to summon a thorn totem AND increased poison damage. it's showing as none for sale. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong but there must be some for sale at this stage of the season?

not all stats are available for all idols, its likely you cant get poison dmg suffix on a 1x4

since summon thorn totem is a prefix available only on a 1x4

and if you can, then no one found it valuable enough to sell. Primalist is bottom of the totem pole for the season, no pun intended

Isn’t it pretty difficult to get high LP items as a MG player? Prophecies give so many of certain items and the CoF tree is great for that too. I’d say CoF for min-maxing and MG for getting just endgame gear.

Depends how hard your min maxing and what your building. I built the serpent strike druid before it got popular thanks to MG and i slammed double T7 on most of the gear and i can now do carry ubers with ease. If you know what people want then its not to hard to make the gold

Yeah, that's the key word "before it got popular". Any popular builds will be difficult to gear right now because most gear is quickly snatched up or you'll have to pay billions to max cash for one item.

I was still paying alot per item. 6-700mil for a 3 LP neck 7-800mil per shield slam etc. Its just difficult for newer players to make gold because theres no price checker and they dont know whats worth selling

you can easily make 4-5bil a day if u grind it out and slam a ton of items. but i agree that theres no 3+ LP items on the market right now for builds so if ur goal is to minmax past 2LP T7 T7 pieces of gear then MG wont cut it

I don’t play MG for min maxing though. With lp1 and 2 items I can kill uber with ease already. I play MG because I can sell the items that I don’t use for gold and I can switch build quite easy , also I like the feeling of trading

If you want lp3&4 uniques and min max your build , COF is the better choice

I ignore cost of reroll and target:

One of each:
-Chest of thing I want
-Duplicates every chest
-Triplicate every chest
-Duplicates all items in random chest (If you want)
-Add thing I want to random chest

Then 30%/45% more items for the rest.

Whatever cost I paid is generally recouped several times by the rewards.

Class Idols, Runes (Havoc/Creation = $), simple exalted bases with Max roll

I am now at corruption 250, and im slowly starting to hit a wall, i can do echoes, but i need to be so careful its too slow.

So i plan to go back to corruption 150 or 200, and spend some time there to farm items for sell, so i have gold to get better gear and progress.

With such low corruption, what is the best way for me to farm? Dungeons? Echoes? Maybe do stability and do the 800stability bosses?

Even if they keep things as is, when you're looking up your items, there should be an option to view "sold listings." Also, being able to look at your own sold listings would have helpful too. However EHG currently has a long backlog of MG suggestions and bug reports so I'm not sure adding more to the list is productive. I would prioritize the bugs and getting rid of bots and gold sellers as #1.

After clicking “List Item for Sale” the game automatically queries a backend database of recently sold items and returns a list of matching or similar items based on:
Filter Type Criteria
Item Type Same item category (e.g., gloves, staff)
Base Type Exact base (e.g., "Solarum Greaves")
Rarity Same rarity (Exalted, Unique, Legendary, etc.)
Affixes Must match all affixes (e.g., Strength + Void Resistance)
Affix Tiers Same or within ±1 tier of each affix
Level Req Optional filter if base item level matter

A Price Insights Panel appears to the side of the listing UI showing:
Lowest, average and highest price sold

Optional: Adjustable Matching Tolerance
Allow ±1 tier per affix
Allow 1 affix difference
Allow same base type but different implicits

This would reduce the mismatch in prices. Would it be possible?

Makes no sense. If it's exalt t7, price can be absolutely not comparable with t6, it is different ranges of price.

In most cases there is 2 price ranges: ideal base/any base because for legendary. And staying always in exact base can show misleading result if actual trades was done with another not important base.
Even this observation show us that your request, if will be done, will leave a lot of space to improve and will be applied with in some exceptional, not general cases. As some blueprint it is good, but it should be still configurable and it will be good to have history of queries and maybe build related queries as long people made loot filters for build, so market filters for build will be expected option too.

I remember getting into the game, needing like 160k to respec my class and not having it cause I was broke, then my very first expressive sell in the game was an idol. 140m and that started the engine.

The only downside is we can't filter idols stats very well to do a proper price check. Going through 60 pages one by one takes away too much time and patience. But yeah, they sell well.

I play Legacy but I listen to a lot of the Cycle chat on discord and reddit. Prices went much higher in Cycle this time around and people were able to reach gold cap very easily in Cycle. Legacy has been much more difficult as trading is more slow, and this far into the season it's at a crawl. I have 90 pages of listings and I sell about 3-5 items per day, usually nothing big. Most people in Legacy chat are CoF. They say MG is really for if you want to play Cycle. From what I've heard, the market has reacted differently with each new cycle. No one knows for certain why but some speculate it is due to gold dupes, botters, and rmt'ers. Others say it's simply lots of people farming and supply and demand. However that might be the appeal of playing MG in Cycle - the market is volatile and exciting for the first week or two.

Keep in mind whenever people talk about MG they are almost certainly referencing it within the context of Cycle and not Legacy. The Sanctum Market loot filter doesnt even have a loot filter for Legacy last I checked. Playing MG in Legacy is frowned upon and often ridiculed by many in the community.

Ranks can be a problem for active but not 24h session players. I notice I've been able to buy exactly nothing for upgrades for a while around the time I hit Dragons mono, and rank doesn't catch up until well into empowereds. Perhaps I'm not skipping enough stuff in campaign.

Oh I've made several 3k+ CR deep dive characters, don't get me wrong; it's just that there's this short period of time where you're getting t6s left and right but nothing worthy of actually slamming into this awesome LP2 (theoretically) that you've had sitting for 20 character levels and you can't buy the thing to slam into it yet because it's an amulet and you need rank 8 (I forget the actual ranks, but examples should suffice)

So you can either continue grinding, letting that sweet sweet LP2 rot in your stash, until you hit rank 8, or probably get something to drop that is serviceable even before you hit that rank. It's a real feelsbadman, and the tokens should go a long way towards alleviating that a bit, I think.

We're talking day 1-2 struggles here. IMO.

Best advice I could really give you is to really think about all the game and build knowledge you have, and your ability to recognize good items for lots of different builds, before choosing. And yes, there's no "gold farm" strategy - just sell stuff.

In 1.2 I started COF and then transitioned to MG after like day 2-3. I mostly did it because of the runes because of how valuable the reroll of t7s was in MG. and it was easy to farm in COF. I have never started MG as a cycle starter and from what ive read with ppl who have, is bad experiences. is there any changes that might make MG better for starting?

i've seen plenty of MMOs where there was never a single dupe, because it's straight up just impossible

its not how it works in distributed systems
usually they are build to avoid a single bottleneck if possible, otherwise you can't scale it to hundreds of thousands of players
and dupes are often involving some server manipulation

like in one game I played some years before people were manipulating server to crash and rollback, but only on some instances - so player who "sold" an item was rolled back, but player who "bought" an item didn't, so effectively they were getting two copies

anyway, long story short, it is not an easy problem to solve and even mature games like poe face this issue time to time

I was thinking to myself, what does anyone gain to benefit from ruining the economy with a gold dupe, since even if you had unlimited gold, you can't resell the items bought right. however, here's what i think happens:

1. mg has a gold dupe, 100%. its not widespread, but rmt websites have it ready to exploit
2. rmt sites dupe gold, ruin the economy asap by buying out any items listed for megabugcks, injecting billions of duped gold into the economy.
3. meanwhile, rmt sites have legit characters farming items legit, trying to get red rings for printing.
4. prices of items go out of hand, 1lp red rings no longer get listed because they are worth more than 1.5b. if they do get listed, they get bought out instantly and joeblogs doesn't have a chance to buy it because he's not camping the AH.
5. rmt sites print 1lp red rings and sell 1lp red rings for real money, the only way you can buy them.

if you could somehow farm for affixes or manipulate weighting itd be great but as it is now you spend more time farming for your cof drop than it is for mg to farm anything - sell it - buy your stuff

at least cof can get a red ring easily but thats about it

I still like Merchants Guild better than COF. I mean some will say that since I'm more of a casual that I should play COF. But I found it's not any better, if not worse! Because even if you play COF, you still need to farm for a long time to get the right gear that you want with prophecies. And unless you are min-maxing, most gear in Merchants Guild is fairly cheap anyway the first half of the league. Yeah CoF falls apart in the endgame. You can easily find 0 LP uniques but the higher chance of more LP doesnt matter, getting 2-4LP is basically just as rare as with MG and by the time you might get a decently rolled drop MG made enough to buy an even better version. You get flooded with multi exalts but because of how crafting works you barely ever get a useful one, you're dropping 500 items instead of 100 but out of the 500 only 5 or so are useful and from the 100 of MG you can sell 5-10 and progress way more. CoF needs to put its late rank bonuses way earlier and add new ones to significantly boost unique farming in regards to LP and manipulated weighting so you can consistently get double t7's you want later on

you are right, I mean when I did COF last time I did end up with LP2 on most of my gear pieces I needed them, but most came when I was very late rank of the COF ranking system. Like you said, the late rank bonuses need to come up earlier, then it would solve much of the problem.

Yes I think one way to improve CoF would be to add more ability to choose specific types of exalteds, like base items for example. To have a prophecy for Leonine Greathelm item base would help a lot in finding a specific helm instead of just a regular exalted helm prophecy.

Depends on when you last played, they lowered the reputation needed a couple times.
That said, there is a new "token" system coming that will let you buy regardless of rank, they drop randomly but you get 1 guaranteed at R6 MG.

Usually merchant guild is good for non meta builds as the item you want are not too expensive, while cof is good for target farming those expensive items

But you should just play the faction you like more

If you like trading go merchant if you like magic find go cof

we need the option to choose which fields are autofilled when price checking stuff. Like with the new glyph item base isn't as important and roll ranges are pretty restrictive I end up having to manually remove autofilled fields to properly price stuff

probably too much of a UI/UX problem to do this cycle tho

When bazaar listings are open, shift+right click on the item you want to PC and it will populate some of the items attributes into the filter. However, some of us have found that it populates more of the useless attributes of the item and we have to go in and manually fill in the more desirable ones anyway. All in all its not a good price-checker but im grateful they are at least trying something.

Look at search settings after you do it. Its not perfect but autofills most things
