I still hate the fact that ever since they added that Ugly "List Item" button in the middle of the screen, they also added an invisible "no click zone" over 90% of the Bazaar UI, meaning you can't have your inv open and search for stuff at the same time. The gold is 2 inflated so ppl has stopped listing some items that they think are worth more than 1.5b which is the cap. So to buy some items u need to search in discords which i think is a testiment to a broken system. Any plans on adjusting it somehow?

Items are worth what people will pay for them. A lot of it is inflation due to a lack of meaningful gold sinks + massive gold generation through regular gameplay coupled with the overarching community figuring out the worth of some items

There’s plenty of items that are worth well into the billions, I suspect the 1.5b cap is a technical limitation because it seems like an odd spot to cap it off at arbitrarily

Like, going off of current RMT prices for gold something like a 4lp red ring (arguably would be the rarest and most expensive item in the entire game, none have ever existed in the 4 years the game has been out) would be in the territory of “don’t even try to sell this for gold, RMT it for the price of a used Toyota Camry.”

basically, having played on both, I think CoF is easier to gear on start cause you dont have to wait on higher ranks to access LP and exalted items, mg is punishing at start but if you can get it going feels more rewarding. you can sell good items that you dont need (but you gotta have a general knowledge if something is good for selling etc, what builds are hyped now etc) and it also allows you access to endgame big items faster. like I sold a scales of eterra for 400m which helped me buy another item that I really needed for my build.

MG = you farm items for yourself / alts / to sell, when you sell, that gold goes into one pool that can be used on any char

when you make a new alt, you throw a few mil at the gear and are ready to push to 500+ corruption immediately

whereas with COF you will spend tens of hours farming the same equivalent gear that is pretty damn cheap on MG

if anything, CoF is the alt-unfriendly faction

if you want to make it alt-friendly, you essentially use a MG filter while playing CoF in order to collect strong pieces for all the meta builds in advance, in case you decide to play them later

and let's not gets started on getting uniques with 2LP+. In MG they are usually very expensive, but you can farm the gold easily (if you know what you are doing you can easily farm 500m a day with MG)

with CoF you straight up cannot farm 2LP+ items reliably, and if they drop, they can be bad rolls

the game definitely needs a (hefty) tax, but I'm convinced there is a dupe method right now, and there are bots that do nothing all game except generate infinite gold from it.

Ie. my friend who has unstable connection and often has packet loss/10s lags can often pick up an item from the ground, it would go into his inventory, but the item is still on the ground, and he can pick it up again... and again. He can also often forge T1->T5 while lagged for 0 FP cost... I cannot imagine what people do that go out of their way to abuse these sorts of things.

Imagine you do an echo that rewards high gold/item to vendor, and you run all day between pick up -> vendor -> pick up -> vendor...

so in my opinion it's premature to introduce gold sinks and whatnot, before these sorts of things get fixed

• most players from my understanding play CoF, but let's say it's 50/50
• out of 50% of players, only a few % make it high enough into corruption where the top end gear matters, let's say 5%
• out of the 2.5% of players, ie. MG only, only a handful would get negatively affected by duping. In essence duping causes deflation, ie. more items on market = higher supply with same demand = price goes down. But we see inflation, that means it's not just used for duping, but to generate gold (ie. vendor items over and over).

I'd say once they fix all the dupes/exploits for gold generation, introduce proper gold sinks (at least 5-10% fee from selling on market), and being able to re-sell items (ie. you use item, get upgrade, sell old item back = items become cheaper overall)... it might just not be needed to go over the 2.1b cap

Yeah, inflation is a thing - you can make that money by selling items. Transition is super smooth from MG to CF if you haven't bought anything (or much), since you can still use all or most of your items then.

1. Inflation works both ways - item that you dropped that would sell normally for 1m would now sell for 25m
2. People often go for 2-3LP items when in reality often it's only 1 affix that really matters, and it's way cheaper to throw a few 1LP/exlats together for that 1x affix, than go after 2-3 LP. Eg for mages it's mostly always just the T7 int that matters, the rest is nice, but int is like 10x stronger.

On weekend when I had a bit more time to run arbors back to back (roughly 50 runs) I've hit over 30 +3 FC, and 10 +4 FC... before RoC 🙂

At the very least the people reporting this bug need to know that their emails have been read and are being dealt with. But they haven't.

if the cap is 2.14b or whatever, it's literally the trade function not reading that the player is capped and to end the trade w/ nothing traded

It's not about being "abusers". It's the fact that the market was saturated with duped gold. So even legit players benefited from the exploits by having their items sell for astronomical amounts of gold

more the issue is that MG players are the ones affected by the bug, willingly or no. So they’re going to be the ones affected by the fix or rollback no matter what. It’s trying to affect the least number of players with that fix/rollback

Trying to deal with it, I think the best way to do it is to delete all players' gold, but not end the season

No one was forced to buy 2lp items for 1.5 billion. You could absolutely benefit from the gold without having to spend inflated prices
