First off maybe you can have some decency and abstain from saying the word in a conversation talking about if it’s a slur. That should go without saying.

Secondly Wikipedia giving “examples” of the word being used as a slur is not at all a proper identifier of the offensiveness of a word. The term has been used over the past 15 or so years as a derogatory term to put down and discriminate against trans people and is something that would not be allowed in the work-place, school, most online websites, and even countries like Brazil.
