try introducing an extra 1m or 2m learning step, it might help
if it were me, id go either 1m 30m or 1m 10m 90m
idk and that will help? how about if i increase the desire retention en FSRS? idk i think that pass 3 days then i forgot the card then i press again to see it and the i can not leave this hell
this feels like it falls under the "don't try and memorize things you don't know" category of failures? you hit again 9 times the first day that card was shown
you need to actually spend time trying to memorize the card
you can't just brute force your way through
if i dont know the card then how i could learn it if is the first time
i understand but then whats the step?
use paper and pen?
whatever you like
just something besides "look at card" -> "idk" -> "look at answer for a few seconds" -> repeat the entire day
anki isn't a teaching tool, its a memorizing tool
you can't memorize something you don't already know and understand, in some capacity
can i do that inside of anki? with more learining steps or simmilar? it dont make interference with fsrs?
maybe engage in some classic style studying, then use anki to reinforce those things after
anki is not a replacement for studying, but a tool to be used in addition to
you can use filtered decks to preview new cards if you really insist on using anki the entire time
but you need to actively engage with the material to learn it in the first place
even i do a script in python to show me notifications of the exactly when anki is ready for a new review look i started strong this year
all the notifications in the world won't help if you don't sit down and learn something before trying to remember it
i almost never use this filtered decks idk maybe i prefer to use only anki but something is wrong im too slow learning this but thanks for your advice jake
FSRS is not related
The behavior you're seeing here isn't due to FSRS. FSRS only schedules cards once they escape from your learning steps.
Could Learning Steps Help?
The reason why @fickle bluff recommended that you change your learning steps is because the card history you posted shows that you're repeatedly struggling to recall the information after 10 minutes.
It might be helpful to have a shorter learning step, to help you get to the point where you can remember it for 10m.
Like Yuusei recommended, feel free to try adding an additional 1m learning step before your first 10m learning step.
This is low risk, and you should know pretty quickly if it helps.
What's wrong with your learning process?
However, like @marsh bridge said, the bigger issue is there's something wrong with your learning process.
im struggling with a deck of short verses 10-15 words
Based on your description and screenshots, it looks like you're trying to memorize some verses from the Dhammapada.
Looking at the excerpts on wikipedia, each verse seems pretty long. If you're trying to memorize a single verse word for word and using only one card per verse to do it, it makes sense you're struggling to keep them in your head.
An entire verse is probably too long to memorize effectively. If I were you, I would break each verse into smaller chunks and memorize the chunks..
A tool you can use to do this is LPCG - Lyrics and Poetry Cloze Generator. This is the standard recommendation for using Anki to memorize text. Make sure to read the instructions.
You will have to manually split the verse into separate lines when having the addon make cards. I think splitting on each comma is probably good, to give you a small cohesive chunk.
I have used LPCG to memorize a handful of short poems. It has been effective without having to think too hard about how to learn the poem in advance.
But, each of the lines for the poems I've memorized has been around 5 words.
Remembering 5 words is pretty easy (one card). Remembering the next set of 5 words that comes after that 5 words is also pretty easy (another card). And the next 5 (another card). And then the next 5 (another card).
Remembering 20 words all together is much harder (one big card).
i understand thanks for your help with LPCG sound like ill use this in a different way, another deck with cloze cards and this normal with full verses for then next step
exactly that is what im trying to memorize the verses of Dhammapada
Good luck 🫡
thank you to all of you obezag yuusei jake
wow you somehow said what i wanted to say but fail to write in words 😅
