Hello to everyone. I've been using Anki a lot to learn vocabulary in Japanese and the type of card I always used was JP (front) / English + audio + image (back). After reading these two incredible articles by Wozniak 20 rules and Knowledge Structuring decided to give cloze-deletion a try. The topic I'm reviewing with Anki are economics. I asked ChatGPT to make cards for me, but following the principles suggested by Wozniak. I also asked to be GIGA detailed about it, because I REALLY want to remember the entire book. The result is this (few examples):

Boosting {{c1::productivity}} requires education, tools, and technology.
{{c1::Inflation}} is the general rise in prices in the economy.
When a government prints too much money, the value of money {{c1::falls}}.
Germany’s 1920s inflation was caused by over-issuing {{c1::money}}.
In the short run, more money stimulates {{c1::spending}} and {{c2::demand}}.
There is a short-run trade-off between {{c1::inflation}} and {{c2::unemployment}}. *IMPORTANT: THESE TEXTS, WHICH HAVE {{c1}} and {{c2}} create TWO differents cards.

Take into consideration that, originally, my cards were in Spanish, so I used an automatic translation device.

My questions are:

  1. Is ChatGPT doing a correct job?
  2. it is ok to have cards like the two last ones? I don't understand if I should do two complete different cards for the two concepts, or if its ok to use only one text.
  3. For people who used cloze deletions, any advice?
  4. Is there any place to look for good templates?

I have no idea how good your cards are for your purposes/subject, but

  1. The syntax at least looks correct
  2. Most of my cloze deletion cards have multiple cloze deletions in one card (sometimes up to 5), so I think that's perfectly fine.
  3. I think the most important part of cloze deletions is not to word it in a way that gives away the answer with more information than you want it to; if the wording of the card makes you remember the answer you probably won't remember it in the contexts you actually want to.
  4. I made my own template so IDRK, but searching "anki card templates" up gives several results on the forums and Reddit.

you want to be able to associate inflation with price rises

yeah honestly don't worry about that one too much, it's just that if you ever feel like for a certain card that you wouldn't have known the info if it was outside of the card, consider the changing the wording

ok, your type of card is made to learn, but mine to review?
