I'm on void linux with glibc which runs runit. I've tried using flatpak but it didn't really want to work, all I was greeted with language selection then it crashed and ever since I get errors such as dbus issues etc. If it works for other people on non systemd distros please let me know how you did it.

(it could just be my system is too old, its an ibm t60 librebooted with t7600 and 3.4gb ram but i've used anki on laptops with similar specs from recent years)

try building it from source? I use gentoo without systemd (openrc) and it runs just fine.

#

I also recall using the package on the anki github page at one point and that also ran fine

I picked anki up less than a year ago so no it was pretty recent

#

yeah I downloaded the latest linux release from that page and it runs just fine

so if thats not working its not a systemd related problem
