Option 1: Use a filtered deck to study only specific tags (advanced, icky)
- How to search: https://docs.ankiweb.net/searching.html
- for tags: https://docs.ankiweb.net/searching.html#tags-decks-cards-and-notes
- and extract to a filtered deck: https://docs.ankiweb.net/filtered-decks.html
Option 2: Suspend all and only ususpend certain tags (recommended)
My recommendation would be to suspend (https://docs.ankiweb.net/browsing.html?highlight=suspend#cards) all of the cards, and then unsuspend by tag the things you want to learn.
You can also select cards easily by tag in the browse screen by actually just selecting the tag via the GUI.
Anki's user manual. Anki is a flashcard program that makes learning easier.

How on mobile please?
It's the same logic but less convenient, i.e. the GUI is not helpful.
Read about how to search by tags and use that to search in the mobile app's Browse window.

Actually, I can see that AnkiDroid has a filter by tag option from the hamburger menu on the browse window (three dots on the side) that should make it easier.
I have bad news for you.
AnkiPro is not real Anki.
The four official Anki products are Anki (on Desktop), AnkiDroid (on Android), AnkiMobile (on iPhone) and ankiweb.net (online).
Ohh
The good news is that AnkiPro, being an unethical scam app, steals its shared decks from Ankiweb, so you can probably switch to the real Anki and find the deck you downloaded to use in Anki (https://ankiweb.net/shared/decks?search=biology).
This is so complicated😭😭😭
I went on my android and then downloaded the deck but I still can’t figure out how to revise only a certain tag
First, let's make sure that you understand what Anki is, how it works, and why it works how it works. Please read this entire section of the manual, it's short: https://docs.ankiweb.net/background.html
Anki's user manual. Anki is a flashcard program that makes learning easier.
Alright I read it
Then, to introduce only cards from a specific tag, follow these instructions:
- Go to the hamburger menu (three lines on the top left)
- Select "Card Browser"
- From the deck selection window (right to the right of the three lines on the top left), select your biology deck.
- Three dots on the top right, select "Select all."
- Three dots on the top right again, now that all of the deck's cards are selected, "Toggle suspend"
Cards should be yellow now, because they're suspended. - Three dots on the top right again "Filter by tag"
- Select the tags you want to study.
- Repeat steps 4 - 5 in order to select all of those cards and unsuspend them.
- Go back to the main view and select the deck to study.
The cards for the tags you unsuspended will come in as blue new cards, which you'll get to look at a couple of times. Then, they'll go into Anki's magic box, and you'll review them again tomorrow or later as green cards.
This appears to be the Ankidroid manual, so hopefully it'll help you out: https://ankidroid.org/
On step 6 it says no cards found in the deck
Do you have the right deck selected?
Yes
Did you click "Search all decks" to see if something pops up?
Yes
Well, then it seems like there might not be a note associated with that tag.
Which deck did you download from the shared decks page?
Link it and I'll look at it.
Also, which tag.
Topic 5
The deck looks fine to me. I was able to select cards from tag:bio_topic_5 in the desktop app.
🥲
If you believe that there's something wrong with AnkiDroid and it's not possible you made a mistake, you can:
- Download the PC version of Anki for free (https://apps.ankiweb.net/)
- Download the deck and verify that you're able to manage it via the PC app in the way that you want.
- Create a free ankiweb account (https://ankiweb.net/account/login)
- Log in to that account on your Desktop and sync.
- Log in to that account on your phone (click the sync button top right to prompt for log in) and DOWNLOAD FROM ANKIWEB.
Then things you can't do on your phone you can take care of on your computer and push to your phone.
Lemme try the 4th one
I'm not sure if you mean the 4th topic tag or if you mean the 4th step above. To be clear, the instructions above are a series of steps that you should follow in order.
