So, I have an old big deck which I studied a lot back then. However I took a big break from anki and although not forgot everything, still my memory isn't clear and I want to repeat cards that I aced long ago. I take the card and choose it as "again", then repeat it a couple of times and choose "good", setting it's timer to a day. On the next day card's time setting is back to its previous state. (For example: Card -> Again (reset timer) -> Good (timer 1d) > Next day the same card has Hard (3 months) and Good (10 months).
Could I fix it without resetting the whole deck since I've no clue where the problem lies. I use default settings for this deck.
Hopefully this mouthful is understandable.

If you are syncing across multiple devices, this sounds most like a sync issue, but it could also be based on the card's specific history and your Deck Options.

  1. Are you strict about making sure you sync when you open the app and when you close/leave the app, on every device, every time?
  2. Can you post a screenshot of the Card Info for a card this is happening to? If it is from AnkiDroid and you have a narrow screen, please take the screenshots in landscape.

I do make syncs, although it is far from often. I don't know where to find card's info in the ankidroid, so here's the settings of one of the said cards (part is in russian but I think everything is self-explanatory)

Ok, I missed landscape part but there appears to be nothing new. It's the "Edit card" info and I've found no way of watching "other" card's info

I think the root of this might be a misunderstanding of some of the terminology -- which might be due to the interface translation.

You're showing me the Add/Edit Note screen -- where you enter your information into fields of a note. But you're asking about the behavior of cards that you study.

This note type makes 2 (sibling) cards for each note, so it's possible you're studying a card one day, and then getting its sibling the next day, and confusing the two cards.

To see the Card Info in AnkiDroid -- from the Card Browser (in cards mode) -- long press on a card to select it > 3-dots menu > Card info. [You're looking for something like this: https://docs.ankiweb.net/stats.html#card-info.]

Yep, thanks for the info, I really didn't know the difference between note and card. In translation they are different words as well but I never understood the terminology in the first place. Here's card info. I'm going to try to make the problem appear again and send the info here afterwards in the couple of days.

As I understood from your message, note creates 2 sibling cards — standard and reverse in my case. I don't think I confuse them since: 1) I can understand the difference and 2) both sibling cards have the same issue of keeping their original time.

Although my misunderstanding may be the cause to all of this, I doubt it. I hope the info after the problem arises again could shed some light on the matter.
