Some buses accept digital payment, but its a hit or miss, and worse is that the way its set up is that the driver has to take the eyes off the road for a few secs to verify the payment, which is dangerous af (and the reason many buses, even on the same line, dont accept it)

Well, our literacy rate is in the 60%s so I can't say that digital literacy is the number one priority there. And this comes back to my previous statement, where the digital world is just not the number one priority or problem for Pakistan, hampering progress.
Our government has regularly shut or slowed down WiFi speeds considerably whenever they needed to so that also lowered confidence in the system. Why rely on digital payment when one day you might not be able to use it at all?

Ummm I do remember in my youth that things on the region I live were rough, shaky water service, constant blackouts, public schools were overcrowded and underfunded, no police activity and just in general the entire place was a hellhole. But in recent years thanks to projects and campaigns things now are looking a lot better, (the water service and electricity service are still shaky tho)
However, if I were to be honest, I think all of that its mainly due to the expansion of the internacional airport here, which is near completion. A lot of road maintenance projects and general service improvements were made specifically for the airport, its just that the airport is located in the zone I am so one could think that every improvement that has taken place over here was just a byproduct of the airport expansion

hm speaking of transportation here in japan it's kinda complicated on other people specially when it comes to bus lines, taxi lines & subway lines cause sometimes alot of bus, taxi or subway trains share the same route but they are going in different areas
but the best part of it the whole city got cover by its transportation system, it may look confusing at first but alot of people will get used to it as they will relay to the public transportation system instead of driving around and get stuck on hour long traffics

Infrastructure has a huge impact on living standards, yes. We had our Motorway construction start in the 90s and it's nearly complete (It goes North-South). Although people doubted it's need, it has turned out to do literal miracles for not only the national economy but for smaller cities and towns too. Nice to hear your area has improved significantly too

Yeah, which is usually the downside of trains. Buses are good, if they're implemented with their own lanes and feeder routes like in our city, which is why it's without a matter of doubt one of the most successful initiatives over here in this century without exaggeration.

We have commuter - yes but it’s always underfunded and stations face bureaucratic hurdles year after year. Buses drive around the same speed as a train.
