The Road Alignment Module is a lightweight, standalone module for plugin creators that automatically rotates buildings to face adjacent roads when placed.
The script works both for square and rectangular buildings:
- Square buildings will rotate toward the side with the most adjacent road tiles.
- Rectangular buildings will only flip (frames 0 <-> 2 and 1 <-> 3), so that building footprint is preserved. A scoring system gives higher priority to the building's "main" side (bottom left side for frame 0), and lower priority to the "secondary" side (bottom right side for frame 0).
- Player's chosen frame will be preserved if there are no adjacent roads.
To attach and activate the script for a building draft, unpack the contents of the file, move them to your plugin's directory, and attach the "align to roads" meta data tag, for example:

The module will automatically detect drafts with this tag and attach the alignment script on load. No additional setup is required.
