isolation means you create a second folder, you move plugins around between the one folder the game knows about and the second folder the game can't access, eg on your desktop, you move them around until the game works, then you move the files you got out back in until you get a crash again, hopefully finding specific culprits that make your game crash.

I do still have to find out how to make frames not be changed on rotation, I know it's possible as there are a lot of plugins like the letters as fountains and parks, that have several frames each for one park or whatever, but when you turn the map the one does not change, the private plugin I have two frames for currently does change between the two frames on rotation when I don't want to, there's probably a boolean keyword with true and false to deal with this.

well technically painting is an option, but for streets i also think advanced roads or those plugins is probably the easiest option. for buildings you can create private plugins by using any painting software and painting them outside the game and creating new buildings based on those assets to create colorswapped buildings.

made three height variants. i think with this i can start making my new city, having a nice residential building block. the highest variant is basically on the level of kowloon walled city being about 12 floors in height. so i can make some pretty dense neighborhoods.

You can use all three in their respective areas, the densest one can be downtown, the second one going out to the more suburban area, and the last one going out of density.

yeah the smallest one will be real village areas. it uses base buildings with just a bit of a change in color, so i can mix it with vanilla buildings and have like typical chinese mountain villages as well.

i'm planning to make good use of it all around the city

i made a single building 3x3, that felt like most usable. if you keep the buildings 1x1, you run into issues with placing streets next to them.

if you want to do kowloon walled city, you can also use the slum plugin. the concrete slum buildings are actually all the same size, so instead of being in paint for over an hour, making high floor variants only takes 5 minutes.
