The title didn't let me type out what I wanted to say, but we shouldn't be punishing players for doing or having the zombie gun glitch happen to them in infected mode. The developers should either fix the bug itself and patch it, make the bug a feature in another infected mode, or both.

But we should not be punishing players for a glitch that should have already been patched a long time ago.

Knowing how buggy of a game this is, Vulcron is probably isn't going to add any QOL changes.
