Dear Buckethead Entertainment Team,
I want to start by saying I love what you’ve created with Rumble, but I’m increasingly worried about player retention especially with the launch of standalone. The lag issues are affecting everyone, even players within the same region - and I’ve seen on community forums that this is driving people away. I’m sure you want Rumble to thrive long-term.

I understand dedicated servers are costly, but I believe this is critical to sustainability. Perhaps you could rotate hosts each round, select the best connection dynamically, or invest in low-cost regional relay servers. The community is vocal, and we’re seeing dropoff. If a funding gap exists, maybe the community would help. Crowdfunding regional nodes or offering player-backed tournaments could help bridge the gap.
I’m rooting for Rumble, but this is urgent. Without addressing the lag, we risk losing a fantastic community. Thanks for listening, and I hope we can see this grow together.

Best,
Adam

servers would mean people who live farther away from them will be at a permanent disadvantage.

The devs can't magically make information travel between countries faster, and they need to use brokered p2p (ie intermediary servers) for privacy reasons. So the lag will exist anyway, if not in one place then in another.

Also, a server based system will make flick practically impossible. Arguably the biggest draw to Rumble currently

yeah... flight will just go "poof" if rumble becomes a dedicated server system

Shoeless is currently the biggest draw for rumble players, and his videos focus on flight

Even if I’d love to see more people trying competitive play, I myself love flying around once in a while and also bought both my vr and rumble cause of shoeless

Thanks for the kind reply, I 100% agree with a lot of the sentiment above. I was hoping there would be some work around, Shoeless got me into rumble and I love flick, definitely wouldn't want to lose it. That said, not everyone especially newer players rematch. If there's no way to get the kind of connection that enables 'fair' matches, then maybe a match could still have compusory client switching each round till there's a 2 round lead or something akin to that. Idk.
How does flight work in parks if only one person is client but there's a few people flying, feels like I'm missing something.
Love the creativity and physics, hate that pvp is inherently one sided due to clients. Can't think of many pvp games that would survive if one team always had terrible ping - guess that's why community is so important.

the people client flying are just REALLY good at flight
