#Add better feedback to the "Base Pose". (Suggestion to help NEW players).

I just started playing Rumble. I really love what i see here. Had some incredible matches. However while learning the poses, I noticed one pretty small thing that would go a long way to improving newbie (maybe even pro) experience:

I think the base pose for summoning structures could really use stronger feedback.

Right now the only clear indicator is the auto hand close, which is subtle and requires u to be looking. Apparently theres a haptic pulse but i could barely feel it. The summon finish feels powerful and obvious, but the base pose is the moment that should really sell that you’re channeling.

It would be sick if as soon as you properly hit the base pose you get a clean haptic pulse plus a short, weighty sound cue, followed by a low looped rumble while you’re holding it. Not over the top, just enough to make it feel like you’re actually drawing in rock energy and ready to fire something off. (Maybe in the future.. you could even use this to "CHARGE" your attacks up? Prob won't fit it's very tight underlying game design tho.)

Think this would help new players internalize rotation and placement without looking down. But it also just makes the fantasy stronger. That “I’ve got it” would feel powerful. Like you're truly feeling the sense of earth coursing through you.

And obviously, give people an option to tone it down or turn it off if they’re experienced and don’t want the extra feedback.

Would need to have an on/off for basic poses but yea

With the way the base pose works I don’t think the held rumble would work (it doesn’t register as held just as being pressed the first instance you’re in the pose) but aside from that I really like this!

I'm not sure how the game works (since I haven't played yet) but good haptics can do a lot (e.g. I did my thesis on simulating surface texture in VR using haptic feedback)

I believe you need to "hit" the base pose and then go to a different pose for an action to work right? So you could start some rumbling when you've hit base pose, and if you then hit another pose finish the haptics in a satisfying way, but if you "lose" the pose (which I assume is possible? And the game knows when that happens?) the haptics can end in a different way that feels like you're losing the power

#

You can also keep the haptics going actually, since you can chain stuff

Yeah no idea exactly what you'd have to do to make that feel right. But i did go into game and put my hands in the Base Pose and you do certainly "hold" it as long as ur in that pose. So u could do some haptics/rumbling sounds/vfx etc.. as u channel your magic. I really hope we get this would add so much to the feel of the title.

some kind of fairly low pitch static hum, maybe? Like power lines that have energy but it's not being used yet.

It would certainly need to be toggle able. Once you start getting better you're hitting the base pose for a fraction of a second and moving on. I myself would get annoyed if the base pose had noticeable haptics. It would be a good teaching tool though. But ultimately it comes down to drilling and practicing to get it consistently.

Its just as much of a disturbance as what you get when spawning a lot of structures, and that isnt too bad IMO
